Hero had noticed that Villain seemed a little distracted during their fight—not bantering as much as usual, fighting back halfheartedly. Still, they had expected Villain to dodge their attack in time. But when Hero sent out another blast of their ice powers, it hit Villain square in the chest, knocking them into the wall behind them.
Hero gasped as they watched Villain crumple to the ground, clutching at their chest. “Oh my god.”
Villain groaned, staring down at the ice spreading across the front of their suit. “Fuck. You got me good, huh?” they forced out. The laugh that followed was on the verge of hysterical.
“God, Villain, I’m so sorry,” Hero said, rushing to them. They knelt down in front of Villain, pushing their shaking hands out of the way so Hero could inspect the damage. Ice had pierced through their suit, seeping into Villain’s chest. Thanks to their own fire powers, it most likely wouldn’t be fatal—Villain's body heat had already begun counteracting the ice. But it looked like it hurt.
Villain’s eyes were distant when they looked up at Hero, and their lips were tinged blue. “My fault,” they said, teeth chattering. “Should’ve been paying attention.”
Hero shook their head. “No, no it’s not your fault. Shit, I'm sorry, I knew you were having an off day and I still…”
Villain wrapped their arms around themself as shivers wracked their body. “S-so cold. And tired.”
“You have to stay awake,” Hero instructed, though it came out as more of a plea. “Keep your eyes open, okay?”
The ice was beginning to melt away already, but the effects would probably last longer. “You’ve g-got your chance to t-turn me in now,” Villain said, forcing themself to keep their eyes on Hero.
Hero sighed, pushing Villain’s hair back. “Not gonna happen. I’m taking you home where you can have some hot soup and lots of blankets, and then rest. And maybe when you’re feeling better, you can tell me what had you so distracted today.”
“Why?” Villain asked incredulously.
“I did this. Now I'm going to fix it.” Hero didn’t tell them about the guilt and the looming fear that always followed them. The constant underlying threat of their powers being too strong. Or that they might lose control, like they had today. One of their worst fears had just come true and it was only by luck, or maybe a miracle, that Hero had hit the one person who couldn’t be killed by their ice powers.
“If you w-wanted me to c-come home with you, you c-could've just asked,” Villain joked.
Hero couldn’t help but smile—at least Villain was with it enough to still tease them. “Don’t fool yourself. Once you’re all better, we go back to being enemies.”
“Yeah. Obviously.” Hero pretended not to notice the way Villain’s smile faltered. “You’d have t-to take me to dinner f-first, anyways. I’m not that easy.”
“Well,” Hero said, “I can at least make you chicken noodle soup, so hopefully that counts for something. Now, come on, let’s see if you can stand…”

Just thinking abt tiny whumpee being mistaken for a to by whumper’s kid. Imagine what they would go through before whumper finally realizes. And even then, would whumper even care?
(I’m so sorry I’ve been on a tiny whumpee kick)
🎧
as i said before in a separate post, i switched the kid for a pet! sorry it took so long to get around to it
content: accidental whump, whump by dog, tiny whump, dislocated joints, begging
"Easy d-does it," Whumpee stammered. "You're not g-gonna hurt me, are you?"
The four-legged beast — a dog, they were pretty sure — stared at them with big, uncomprehending eyes. Its tail was moving from side to side too quickly for Whumpee to follow, and they couldn't even imagine what it'd do to their body, were the dog to turn around and hit them with it.
"We're not enemies," they went on. "Just because I borrowed some of your owner's stuff, that, that d-doesn't mean..."
The thing barked, loud enough to make Whumpee clamp their hands over their ears. It pretended to pounce, almost inviting Whumpee to play along; but all they could do was cry out in fear and start running.
From the sounds of it, the beast didn't know the difference between heartfelt terror and giddy laughter. It ran after them gleefully, cornering them over and over again until Whumpee couldn't take another step. It wagged its tail as they collapsed into the grass, too exhausted to keep up the sick game of tag.
The dog poked at them with its snout, sniffing their sweat-drenched body curiously. And then, it happened — it opened its mouth and picked them up by the leg.
"Stop! No! Put me down, please, put me down!"
It had no intention of listening. Whumpee's joints creaked and popped as the creature trotted away, shaking them so much that they thought they would puke.
"What's in your mouth?" came a booming noise from the other side of the garden. It finally made the dog stop in its tracks. "What's in your mouth, huh? Look at me!"
Whumper, it was Whumper's voice. Thank goodness. Whumpee didn't even care about being discovered anymore, all they wanted was to survive. "Help! Help, please!"
But the dog had other ideas. Seemingly more than aware of its sins, it bolted.

The whumper had managed to capture a fairy-the whumpee, and in their excitement didn’t think twice about treating the whumpee like a specimen to observe and experiment on. The whumper ends up hurting the whumpee, keeping them in captivity despite the fact that the whumpee clearly wanted to leave desperately. The whumper takes a long time to realize how much they’ve harmed the whumpee, and panics when they finally see what they’ve done.

Tomcat Indisposables
Misc writing masterlist
content: g/t, borrowers, tiny whump, poisoning, accidental whump, rescue, caretaking, starvation, begging, near-death experience
so, this is a weird one. it’s a fix-it fic for a sad song. the song in question is Tomcat Disposables by Will Wood, for which you can find the music video here and the lyric video here! HIGHLY recommend listening to this song before reading this fic, to get the context of the events leading up to it! i suppose this is fanfic for a song, in a way? a sequel to a song?
-
It wasn’t a mouse.
Casey looked down incredulously at the tiny person collapsed against the kitchen floor. He was unconscious, clearly. Curled up with his arms wrapped around his stomach, eyes closed, face red and clammy. He looked sick.
He would probably be about four inches tall or so if he uncurled. Maybe not even that. Three inches.
Casey’s eyes slowly drifted to the mouse trap set out by the stove. Not a trap- disposable bait station, whatever it’s called.
The bait inside had some tiny bites in it.
Their heart filled with dread as they realized what they’d done. It wasn’t a mouse. It wasn’t a mouse. Oh my god. It wasn’t a mouse.
The tiny man wasn’t dead. They could see his chest rising and falling, barely. His breaths were far too shallow.
They crouched, scooping his too-warm little body into their shaking hands as gently as possible.
As they stood, trying to puzzle out what to do, a feeble groan emanated from the curled-up figure in their palm. His eyes fluttered open.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” Casey whispered, like they’d break him if they talked too loudly.
-
Harvest knew he was being an idiot when he saw the strange green food in the little box. He knew it had to be a trap of some kind.
But hunger makes you do stupid things. Harvest hadn’t eaten in three days by that point, and he was going insane. That fourth night, he still couldn’t find any food in anything he could open besides the trap, and he was getting desperate.
So he deluded himself. Maybe the human was trying to help, trying to leave something out for him, or whatever creature they thought he was. It didn’t even look like a trap, really. He couldn’t see anything that would spring down, it was just a Harvest-sized box with some food in it. It honestly looked safe enough.
Food. He hadn’t eaten in three days. How was he supposed to refuse a gift like that? It had been the best thing he’d ever tasted, except maybe for cheese, his favorite. But that might have just been the hunger.
He didn’t even make it back behind the cupboards before he couldn’t stand anymore.
Stupid. He’d been so stupid.
He trembled in the human’s palm with a horrible mixture of terror and sickness so bad he felt like he was going to die. It hurt.
“...Please,” he choked out, still holding onto the delusion that the human might be friendly. It was all he had. He wasn’t even strong enough to try to leave the human’s gigantic hands. “Don’ wanna die.”
Tears sprung to the human’s eyes. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to- I mean, I thought I had mice.”
Harvest rested his spinning head against their finger. He felt like unconsciousness would grab him again at any moment, and that if it did, he wouldn’t wake up again. He tried to keep his eyes open, blinking blearily.
“Oh, oh no no no, stay awake, alright? Just stay awake.” The human set him down on the counter, where he laid motionless.
They disappeared from his sight, returning a moment later with a bottlecap full of water. “Here, have some water. Sip this, okay?”
They placed a finger on his back, pushing him up into a sitting position before bringing the cap to his mouth with their other hand.
Harvest opened his mouth as they tipped it in, the little he could do, tremors wracking him. He was so thirsty, and the water was nice and cool as it flowed down his throat. He still felt like death, but at least it helped.
“I looked at the instruction packet, and it says to eat activated charcoal? Like for if pets or babies get into it,” the human babbled quickly, though Harvest could hardly follow what they were saying. “I think I can get some at Walmart.”
They lifted him up again, and Harvest’s head lolled. Everything hurt, especially his cramping stomach. “M-make it stop?” he pleaded, his voice so weak he wasn’t sure if the human could even hear.
“Yes. I’m going to help, you’re gonna be okay.” The human set him down on something soft. A dish towel. “Just try your best to stay awake. I’ll be right back, it’s not far.”
Harvest’s fingers curled around the towel’s fibers. “Mmn.”
“Okay. Okay. Stay awake. I’ll be right back. Stay awake.” The front door opened and closed with a gush of cold winter air, and then he was alone. Terrified tears wet the towel under his cheek.
He was going to die alone.
Harvest wasn’t very good at following directions. The fact that he’d let a human spot him was evidence enough of that. Dreamless sleep stole him in minutes.
-
Casey had never driven so fast in their life. They burst back through the door, the little bottle of activated charcoal in hand. “Little guy?” They never got his name.
They ran back to the counter where they’d left him. He’d fallen back asleep, and looked even worse-off than before. They poked him insistently. “C’mon, wake up, please!” They couldn’t be responsible for someone’s death. They thought they had mice, they just thought they had mice!
Casey put a finger in front of his face and waited, heart pounding. Relief washed over them when they felt a faint breath against their skin.
“Okay little guy, time to wake up. It’s okay, it’s gonna be okay.” They wet their fingers and flicked water onto him, the small droplets much larger to someone his size.
His eyes opened slowly, his reaction delayed. “Muuuhhh,” he groaned.
“Great, stay awake, just like that,” Casey encouraged. They unscrewed the lid to the bottle, shaking out a pill, and broke it in half over the bottlecap. Black dust poured out of the capsule. They mixed a tiny bit of water in for good measure, turning it into a sludgy liquid.
They propped the tiny man up with one hand and shoved it in his face with the other, panicked. “Drink this. It’ll counteract the- the poison.”
His eyes fluttered shut again.
“No, no no no! Come on. You’re so close!” Casey tried opening his mouth, but their fingertip was almost the size of his entire head, so they ended up squeezing his cheeks to force his mouth open.
They poured the charcoal-water mixture into his mouth, massaging his throat with their thumb to get him to swallow when he wouldn’t do it on his own, hoping he didn’t choke. It seemed to work: he might not have been entirely unconscious, floating between life and death.
“There you go. There you go,” Casey soothed, rubbing circles into his back as they laid him back down on the dish towel. Tears dripped next to him, to their surprise: they didn’t even realize they’d been crying.
They didn’t even know if it would work. It didn’t look like he’d eaten too much of the poison, but he was so small, and they had no idea how long it had been since he’d eaten it before they found him. They could be too late.
Casey dragged a chair over to the counter and waited.
-
Harvest didn't expect to wake up again, but he did.
He still felt like death, and curled up further with a pained groan, clutching his abdomen. Less so than when he'd lost consciousness, but too awful to even stand.
"Thank god," the human sighed, and Harvest's eyes shot open. Right. He wasn't alone. He's been spotted. And now the human could do... whatever it was they wanted with him.
Indignant tears sprung to his eyes. The human had starved him out, baited him with poison he was too desperate to refuse. The betrayal still stung, the hopeful leap he'd taken of trusting them, thinking they might want to be friends, punished with horrible pain and his near-death. And now he was completely at their mercy.
Harvest looked up at them warily. His mind was a bit clearer now, and he had the capacity to shrink back from them a little, folding the dish towel over himself so only his head stuck out. It wasn't exactly an impenetrable fortress, but it felt better. Less out-in-the-open.
"What are you going to do with me?" he asked, his voice strained.
The human stepped back. "Nothing! I just, I'm sorry, I didn't know there was like, a whole person... I don't even know what you are. I thought... mice..."
So it's okay to do this to mice, then? I wouldn't do this to a mouse. This is awful. I hope no mice ever experience this. He bit the words back. Making the person who held his life in their hands angry would definitely be a bad idea. "Okay,” he said softly. “Okay.”
Despite the pain, Harvest’s stomach growled. He’d only eaten the once in the past four days, and that was poison.
“Are you hungry?” the human asked. “I can get you some food if you’re feeling up to it, but it might not be a good idea...”
Harvest burst into tears. They were still dangling food away from him. “Please, I just, it’s all snow outside so I can’t forage, I haven’t eaten in four days, I’m so hungry! Please, just a little?”
-
Casey’s entire being flooded with guilt. They’d locked down all their food after it became apparent their apartment was... infested, they’d thought before. They’d starved this tiny person to the point of eating poison.
“Yeah, of course, you can have as much as you want! I didn’t mean to.” They opened their fridge. The little guy shivered under his makeshift covers, obviously not a fan of the cold. “What would you like?”
He hesitated before quietly piping up. “Cheese?” he asked with fragile hope.
Casey opened the little drawer where they kept their cheeses. “Yeah, of course. I’ve got tons.” They took out a string cheese, a half-gone block of parmesan, and some shredded cheddar. They cut off a little of each and took a couple shreds of cheddar, put them all on the smallest dish they had, and set it in front of him. “Lemme get you some water, too. It’s probably good to get a lot of fluids.”
He dove into the meal immediately, picking up the piece of parmesan with both hands and biting into it. Casey got a fresh bottlecap and filled it with water, setting that on the plate, too. They took a bite of the remainder of the string cheese. “Maybe try not to eat too fast? You might get sick.”
The little guy seemed to take their words to heart, slowing down. “Thank you. Thank you so much, this is, this is more cheese than I’ve ever seen in my life,” he enthused. He looked like he was about to cry.
“You can have as much as you want, okay? Listen, I don’t know what you are or why you’re here, but I really wanna make it up to you after... all that. Maybe we could be friends? I’m Casey.”
He took a swig from the bottlecap and gave them a small smile. “Harvest.”

When whumpee was in whumper's capitivity, whumper allowed them one single belonging: a small stuffed animal. It stayed with them through thick and thin, being clutched tightly against their lacerated skin every night. By the time whumpee was rescued and back with caretaker, the plush was filthy, matted with blood and god knows what else. Caretaker worries that whumpee will get sick from how much they cling to the filthy thing, so one day caretaker carefully takes the plushie out from a napping whumpee's arms, adding it to a load of washing on a gentle cycle.
Unfortunately, whumpee doesn't sleep as deeply as caretaker remember them doing anymore, and a few minutes later a nervous whumpee is shuffling around the house, searching for their companion.
They bump into caretaker as they're leaving the laundry room, who, in their shock at seeing them awake, instinctively moves their body to try and keep whumpee out of that room. Whumpee grows suspicious and ducks past caretaker's barricade attempt, into the room where their stuffed friend is submerged in water, spinning around slow enough for whumpee to make eye contact.
They start sobbing, collapsing to the floor in front of the machine, pleading with caretaker to take them out, to stop hurting their friend, that they can't breathe in there. That if they wanted to dunk someone underwater so badly, drown them even, they could've just done it to whumpee instead of them. They deserved something like this, their friend didn't.
Caretaker has to stop the cycle, pulling the soaking wet toy out from amongst the everything else. Before they can even attempt to dry it, whumpee snatches it and runs.
Caretaker cant find it in them to complain about the massive trail of water whumpee leaves behind.

Whumpuary 2024 Day 1
1. (Jan 01-02) Captivity / Snow / Secret Revealed
cw physical whump/injury, whumper turned caretaker, captive whumpee
Villain glowered at the struggling captive at their feet. “Well, isn’t this something. When Supervillain said they had a present for me, I was shocked enough as it was. Imagine my surprise when I found out they had managed to capture the pesky little snitch who’s been mucking up all my plans. Selling my information to Superhero and almost getting me caught at that jewel heist last week.”
A weak noise of protest came from their enemy, likely muffled behind a gag. There was a cloth bag over their head, concealing their identity, and their hands were bound behind their back. It was an exhilarating sight to finally have them kneeling at Villain’s feet, completely at their mercy.
“What was that?” Villain taunted when they attempted to talk around the gag. “You’ll have to speak up, sweetheart. I’m busy thinking of all the fun I'm going to have with you.”
They kicked the hero sharply in the side, knocking them onto the ground. With their hands tied behind their back, they had no way of catching themself and their head smacked into the concrete, followed by a choked noise of pain. The hero curled in on themself when Villain’s foot connected with their stomach. It felt so unbelievably good to finally let out their anger on this nuisance who had been giving them so much trouble.
Villain knelt beside them, grabbing onto the hood that concealed their enemy’s identity. “Now,” they drawled, “let’s see who’s under here. I want to see the fear in your eyes and watch you cry while I teach you a lesson.”
They pulled the hood off and felt their blood run cold. A familiar pair of eyes blinked up at them, teary and full of betrayal. “Hero?” they asked in disbelief.
Hero whined, flinching away when Villain hurried to remove the gag. There was a nasty bruise forming on one cheekbone and dried blood under their nose—clearly Supervillain had already had a turn with them before dropping them off at Villain’s lair.
“Oh my god, Hero, I’m so sorry,” they apologized, hands shaking as they helped the other sit up. Thank God Villain hadn’t gotten any farther. “What’s going on?”
Hero sniffed, looking up at Villain with a mix of hurt and anger. “You were about to beat the fuck out of me, that’s what’s going on.”
“No—no, I…” Villain focused on untying Hero’s hands—if they ended up punching Villain once they were free, well, Villain knew they deserved it. “Supervillain told me they had caught the person who’d been selling me out to Superhero. I—I had no idea who they were bringing me.”
“Supervillain is a filthy liar and an opportunist, don’t you know that by now?” Hero said, rubbing their wrists once Villain finally undid the rope. They hissed in pain, glaring at the angry red marks on their skin.
Villain pushed their hair back gently, inspecting for damage where Hero’s head had hit the ground. Luckily, it didn’t look too bad—they'd probably just be sore for a bit. “So you’re not the one who’s been selling my info?”
“You think I would?” Hero asked earnestly, meeting the other’s gaze. “Of course it wasn’t me. It was Supervillain, you idiot.”
Suddenly, the pieces all fell into place. Fuck, it was all so obvious—Villain really was an idiot, weren’t they? “They were trying to frame you—shift the blame off themself and get me to take you out at the same time.”
“Two birds,” Hero agreed.
“I’m going to kill them,” Villain growled, eyes darkening with rage. “I’m going to torture them slowly until they’re begging for my forgiveness and then I'm going to kill them.”
Hero smirked and punched their arm halfheartedly. “I told you no killing, remember?”
“Ugh, you’re no fun.” Villain sighed melodramatically. “…Is a little torture okay, though?”
Hero rolled their eyes. “A tiny bit, I suppose. But can you take me home first? I’m so tired.”
Villain frowned, cradling Hero’s face in their hands. “Yeah, of course,” they said, more quietly. “I'll take you home, and get you cleaned up and tucked into bed. I’m sorry about all this.”
“Thank you.” They let Villain pull them into an embrace without protest. “Just make sure to give Supervillain my regards.”
“Anything for you, Hero.”

Helle knew they would have to let go of Beck and begin cleaning up at some point. The entire place was wrecked, and it hurt their heart to know they'd just managed to do a bit of tidying up a week or so prior. Wasted effort.
They glanced towards the bodies and the blood seeping into the carpet, and they just knew all of it was soaked, both the fabric and the wood below. Was it ruined now? Were they going to have to call someone to redo the entire floor? Surely not. Surely, it could be salvaged...
They groaned in frustration. Okay. They just had to start.
"Will you actually stay in my bedroom this time if I bring you back?" they asked gently, already scooping Beck up before he could've answered.
"I'm sorry for leaving," he muttered. "I got so... so worried."
"Yes, yes, because I am wholly incapable of defending myself. What would I do without the help of a runt?" They pushed the door open and carried him inside, then took a calming breath. "Never do it again, yes? I will not praise you for disobeying me, if that is what you were hoping for."
Beck looked up at them with teary eyes. "I don't– I don't want praise, I was just... I was hoping maybe you'd... you'd forgive me for it, if I ended up being useful..."
"I do forgive you. But I need you to promise you will never do such a thing again."
He slowly nodded, his expression full of guilt and the pain of rejection. He must've felt so heroic in that moment when the stake had hit him, knowing he'd likely saved their life, and now here they were, scolding him for it. But they didn't need to encourage something as stupid as heroism. Self-sacrifice. What good did that ever do? Beck was way too willing to get himself killed, and with his abilities, it'd become a reality sooner than later if they were to indulge him.
"I promise, Master. I'm sorry."
"Good." They walked over to their closet and picked out a shirt, then tore off a strip of fabric. Then another. Then one more. They didn't want to go and get the actual bandages until all the windows were covered up again, and they didn't want Beck completely soaking the bed until then either. This seemed like a reasonable compromise, and something that would hold him over until he healed. They had too many shirts anyway.
He looked more than grateful to be patched up by them, mumbling thank yous all the way through. "I can help with cleaning," he said eagerly. "Once– once it doesn't hurt as much–"
"I am counting on that. Your family made a mess of this place."
He winced. "I'm sorry. I'll... I'll come help as soon as I can, Master."
-
Annoying. So annoying. So many little glass shards to pick up. So many corpses to throw into a pile by the front door. So many layers of clothing to put on so they wouldn't get burned. They could've waited for nightfall, sure, but they didn't want to spend their night doing this.
Helle huffed as they tried to put another ripped off curtain rod back in place, securing it with regular nails and a hammer. They didn't own a fucking drill, they never thought they'd need it. And this was the easier part, too. Hanging up the curtains themselves was a major pain in the ass, and they were not looking forward to it.
They went window by window, holding at least three nails in their mouth at all times. They were so immersed in their work that they didn't even hear as the bedroom door opened and closed, nor the soft patter of feet drawing nearer and nearer.
"The bleeding stopped," Beck announced sheepishly, almost startling them enough to fall off the ladder; but instead they ended up letting go of the half-secured curtain to steady themself, letting in the last rays of the evening sun as it swung to the side.
Beck let out a bloodcurdling scream as the light hit his sensitive body, and Helle jumped off the ladder without thinking to pull him into the shadows. "What on earth is wrong with you?" they snapped, desperate to cover up their horror and nausea with righteous anger. "Your only job for the night was to stay away from goddamn trouble! Is that really so difficult?"
The poor thing was crying and whimpering from the pain, his hands, neck, and face burnt and twitchy. Helle was pretty sure he couldn't even see with his eyes having gotten such a direct hit — he was probably blind for the moment.
"I– I'm sorry– I'm sorry–"
"Oh, be quiet." They wanted to strangle him. They wanted to throw him against the wall and hear his ribs crack. They really wished their stupid, idiotic, overzealous, overexcited puppy of a vampire servant could've resisted the urge to throw himself in harm's way for just two seconds. "What did I tell you? What the hell did I tell you? I told you to stay in the goddamn bedroom."
Beck whined, so pitiful that Helle couldn't stand it. They shoved his burnt body further into the darker parts of the room, letting him stumble and fall when he failed to find a single thing to hold onto. Not that it would've helped, given how ruined his hands were. "I'm sorry," he repeated brokenly, staring at nothing with those stupid doe eyes of his. "I'm sorry, I'm s-sorry–"
"Quiet."
He flinched and curled in on himself, sobbing, making it impossible not to draw a comparison to when...
"I apologise!" they cried for the hundredth time, body covered in lashes and fresh burns. They couldn't stop trying every time the lady pulled them away from that terrifying, poisonous patch of sunshine in the hallway, whenever they got a moment of reprieve and they weren't just screaming incoherently. "Please, forgive me–"
She pushed them forward again, plunging most of their upper body into the light to sizzle and melt like wax.
Beck tried to weep as quietly as he could, afraid of being punished further than he'd already punished himself by accident. They shook their head a little, dispelling the memory.
"I shall draw you a cold bath after I have finished the work," they said coldly. "Do try to writhe as little as possible; burned skin cracks and tears quite easily."

That great moment when Whumpee and Caretaker are cooking together, backs turned, complete trust. Whumpee is chopping vegetables and Caretaker is preparing the main course.
*GASP* the knife clatters onto the table. Caretaker whips around. “WHAT! WHAT!”
“Nnnothing. Nothing.”
“Whumpee. Show me.”
“Promise not to freak out?”

Caretaker not knowing how to treat Whumpee’s hair type and causing them unnecessary pain.
Thinking specifically maybe that Whumpee has textured hair and Caretaker doesn’t understand that it actually doesn’t hurt to detangle if you treat it right.

DISCUSS
A Whumper who does evil things because they feel it's the right thing to do. Like "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" type of evil things.
