Summary:
"Order for Firefighter Diaz!"
Eddie knows that coffee runs have typically been deemed a Probie task. He did plenty of them when Bobby first recruited him to the 118. So, tradition dictates that it's supposed ot be Ravi getting them.
But Eddie gets to have a lot of nice things for himself. The things that make even his worst call days just a smidge better.
If anyone (Hen) is interrogating him for details, it's definitely the coffee he's referring to.
"I'm not in my gear, Buck," Eddie tells the barista when he approaches the counter.
The smile he looks forward to is waiting for him courtesy of the barista that makes even Eddie have to tip his head back a little bit to make eye contact. "Yeah," Buck drawls as he pushes the tray of coffee towards him, "but you're still on duty."
My notes: tHIS IS SO ADORABLE *SLAMS FIST ON TABLE* it made me grin so much. I love coffee shop AUs and this one was absolutely delightful

It's been a few days since I went to see the current Les Misérables London cast at the Sondheim Theatre, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about Djavan Van De Fliert's Enjolras and Tom Hext's Grantaire. Here is an overview of their portrayals:
Grantaire isn't overly present during Paris/Look Down, as usual, but he can be seen at the back of the stage reading a leaflet that Enjolras and Marius drop on the street - and he watches as Enjolras runs off of the stage.
During ABC Café/Red & Black, Grantaire is separate to the rest of Les Amis. He sit with his drink in his hand, watching as his fellow students listen to Enjolras speak. Tom Hext portrayed Grantaire as drunker than most other Grantaires I've seen on stage: he had slurred speech and really did stumble around the Musain.
As Marius comes on the stage, Grantaire's focus is entirely on Enjolras' reaction and you can see the cogs start to get to work in his brain; he thinks deeply about how he can gain Enjolras' attention. As he does, Djavan's Enjolras looks so defeated and frustrated, but there's a softness in the way he directs Grantaire back onto their cause. Initially, Grantaire laughs off Enjolras' words and continues joking around, desperately looking to see if Enjolras was watching him.
When he realises he isn't, he walks right up to Enjolras (who had returned to his table) and grabs his face, turning him to look at him with a laugh. He only starts to be serious when Enjolras raises his eyebrows and silently pleads for him to stop.
After Gavroche announces that Lamarque is dead, Grantaire's whole body drops. As everyone else rallies around Enjolras, he grabs Gavroche and moves to the side of the group, watching in horror as the realisation sinks in that this was really happening. Enjolras notices that Grantaire is standing away from everyone else, cradling Gavroche, and stands by him during Do You Hear the People Sing? Grantaire offers him a smile in response, and Enjolras smiles back, believing he's won Grantaire round.
BUT the moment Enjolras looks away, Grantaire's smile drops again. And he looks on the verge of tears as he joins in with the marching.
During One Day More, Enjolras looks back to Grantaire and Gavroche and offers them a nod, which they both reciprocate.
When the barricade is built, Grantaire stumbles around the stage following Enjolras and making sure Gavroche is safe. When Éponine is shot, he runs onto the stage with the rest of the students and stands in utter disbelief, cradling Gavroche and staring at Enjolras with the saddest expression on his face. Enjolras walks in from being with Javert wiping his hands of the Inspector's blood. Grantaire looks at him with such a bland look on his face. After Éponine dies in Marius' arms, you can really see that Grantaire has accepted this is going to be their fate. Enjolras tries to reach out for him, grabbing at his arm to try and explain and console him, but Grantaire pulls away from him and leads Gavroche away.
In Drink With Me, he's physically shaking. The moment Grantaire starts to sing, Enjolras turns around and walks towards him with the most solemn look on his face. He pulls him into an embrace but Grantaire pulls out of it and walks towards Gavroche, who hugs him this time. He sinks down onto the floor and looks so heartbroken.
Because Grantaire does believe in Enjolras, but he's cynical. And he knows how this is going to end. And he's trying desperately to be there for Gavroche and make sure he's safe.
When Gavroche is killed, he breaks down completely and Enjolras tries to comfort him but Grantaire shakes him away. It's a really haunting scene. During their final battle, Grantaire doesn't pick up a weapon once. He watches from the sidelines, and offers Enjolras a small nod when Enjolras smiles at him from the top of the barricade.
And when Enjolras is shot dead, falling off of the barricade, Grantaire races to the top to be with him, screaming the most blood-curdling "you bastards!" I've ever heard. He dies running to the man he loves because, although he doesn't believe in the cause, he believes in Enjolras.
During Empty Chairs at Empty Tables, Grantaire and Enjolras are stood side by side - which has been the staging since they changed it in 2019.
Djavan's Enjolras is so passionate about everything he believes in. But he's also the softest Enjolras I've seen: you can see his confusion about why Grantaire hangs around, but he's empathetic and kind to him even through his frustration.
And Tom's Grantaire cares so deeply for Enjolras, and he's so desperate for him to see him. It's all so beautiful. The relationship between Enjolras and Grantaire is so poetically, and delicately, portrayed. And Djavan and Tom both understand their characters on such deep, personal levels. They're the perfect ExR combination. And I will never, ever get over them.

Big City Greens Plants Season 4 Premiere For September 23 on Disney Channel + Guest Cast List
Bingo Bango! Disney Branded Television has set primetime premieres for Big City Greens Season 4 slated to debut Saturday September 23 at 8:00PM EST only on Disney Channel and streaming October 25 only on Disney+.
The episodes airing on September 23 – 'Truck Stopped / Jingled' – have "Tilly and Cricket wrestle with indecision at a truck stop between Big City and the country" in the former, while the latter sees Tilly becoming a Big City jingle writer and rising through the ranks. In addition to premiering on Disney Channel, episodes will also be added to Disney Plus on October 25, 2023.
Guest Stars on Season 4 include musican Michael Bolton as Rick Razzle on Jingled where Tilly wants to become a Big City jingle writer and rising through the ranks. Other guest stars for Season Four include June Diane Raphael (Marvel "Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur"), Tom Green ("The Tom Green Show"),NHL player Brad Marchand,Margo Martindale (Sony Pictures "Cocaine Bear"),podcaster Justin McElroy, Tim Meadows (ABC Network "The Goldbergs"), Dean Norris (AMC "Breaking Bad", "Better Call Saul"), Comedian Ms. Pat, Amy Seradis (Netflix "Bojack Horseman", Lucasfilm "The Mandalorian") and comedian Trevor Wallace.
Since it's debut on 2018, Big City Greens has been one of Disney Television Animation recent hits with multiple shorts, a NHL game -themed broadcast special in collaboration with ESPN and a animated feature film based on the series is on production slated for a 2024 release, the series spawned a new legacy of Disney TVA creators like Natasha Kline with chicano lead-driven animated comedy series "Primos" slated for 2024 and more animated shows on development for Disney Channel by Big City Greens Alumnis. (Cheyenne Curtis,Monica Ray, Amy Hudkins,Raj Bruggemann and Houghton Brothers mentor C.H Greenblatt) who will be getting series orders in the coming months.
The new season will include the show's 100th episode, which is a major landmark for any animated series, but especially for a Disney Channel series with few ever making it quite that far. "Season four is pure insanity," says Chris Houghton, Big City Greens co-creator and executive producer. "Tilly becomes a commercial jingle-writer, Cricket tries stand-up comedy, Bill loses his mind like six times, and Gramma dabbles in minimalism. The fact that we have such a fun arena to play in when it comes to these characters is not lost on us or our crew. Even though we’ve told so many stories with these characters, this season feels fresher than ever." "There are some very funny and silly episodes in this season," adds Shane, "like 'Handshaken' where country folks act like western gunslingers, but assert their power through firm handshakes. There are also a few emotional episodes that reach out and give your heart a good squeeze – 'Family Tree' is one that makes me tear up every time I watch a cut of it. And biggest of all, Chip Whistler is back! This season may have more action, adventure, and thrills than any previous season! And here's a couple rapid-fire teases you’ll see in season four: Gloria hires a new café employee, Vasquez goes to therapy, and the kids meet a long lost family member."
Additionaly Big City Greens will continue with new shorts trought the Disney TVA multi-platform division trought Chibi Tiny Tales, Broken Karaoke,Theme Song Takeover, How NOT To Draw & Random Rings.
Big City Greens characters will continue to host on the Disney Television Animation's crossover compilation series "Chibiverse" as it's second season is slated to debut Saturday September 23.

Incidentally, when Jonathan gets a cup of tea at the Aërated Bread Company, it might help to know that the ABC was a popular chain of tearooms/coffee shops/cafés - so basically the equivalent of a coffee from Starbucks or Costa.
I think they did start out as a bakery, hence the name emphasising the light texture of their bread, but you could get a snack or a whole meal there, and of course tea, coffee etc. Places like the ABC and Lyons Corner House were popular in part because suburban and urban middle and upper class women had increased social mobility and were doing things like going out shopping unattended, but it was still Not Done and could be risky for them to go into pubs or the kind of coffee-houses frequented mostly by men if they wanted refreshments while they were out, and these chains were a well-known respectable and safe alternative.

"Les Amis de l'ABC (French for; The Friends of the ABC; pronounced: ah-bae-sae, sounding like abaissé, the word for "humiliated" or "abased", thus their name is a pun) is an association of republican French revolutionary students that meet regularly in the back room of the Café Musain and sometimes in the Corinthe."

I once said “What if I opened a café and called it the ABC Café” and the one person I didn’t know in the back of the classroom said “You’re going to have a lot of empty chairs at empty tables” why’d you have to do me like that

Today's chapters of the Beetle remind me that I still don't have much of a handle on when unmarried men and women were allowed to spend time together in the 1890s and when they weren't.
Dora and Marjorie both show up to Sydney's house in the daytime, unchaperoned, and that seems to be fine. No one mentions it, and you'd think Marjorie's dad would if it was improper.
(the rest under a cut because long)
In earlier chapters, he does object to her waiting in the House of Commons, but it's also clear that he doesn't know where she is or who she's been with a lot of the time, even at night:
‘I thought that you were at the Duchess’?’ ‘So I have been, papa; and now I’m here.’ ‘Here!’ Old Lindon began to stutter and stammer, and to grow red in the face, as is his wont when at all excited. ‘W—what do you mean by here?—wh—where’s the carriage?’ ‘Where should it be, except waiting for me outside,—unless the horses have run away.’ ‘I—I—I’ll take you down to it. I—I don’t approve of y—your w—w—waiting in a place like this.’ ‘Thank you, papa, but Mr Lessingham is going to take me down.—I shall see you afterwards.—Good-bye.’
It seems like Marjorie basically does what she wants and goes where she wants to, even if her father doesn't always approve. And the very conservative Mr Lindon doesn't seem to be much bothered by this. That is, he's very annoyed that Marjorie doesn't do what he tells her, and describes her acquaintance with Paul Lessingham as "compromising", but the impression I get is that this is much more about an objection to Paul than it is to Marjorie's general behaviour.
I'm trying to square this with other reading about the period. For instance, from an American etiquette book in 1892:
In Europe, where social lines are distinctly drawn, a young woman either belongs "in society" or else she does not. In the former case she is constantly attended by a chaperone.
Dora and Marjorie are clearly both young women "in society" but there's no sign of either of them being chaperoned, including at a ball.
Or there's this, about women in public space:
... suffragist Margery Corbett Ashby (1882-1981) maintained that the ABC (Aerated Bread Company) Teashops in London were 'an enormous move to freedom', providing cheap meals with female staff enabling 'respectable' women to use them.
... which implies that this is a culture that would frown on women going to a café with male waiting staff, even during the day, in a public place.
I don't know quite what to conclude from this. A couple of possibilities:
These etiquette rules were less strictly followed than I thought. Maybe what Dora and Marjorie are doing is the social equivalent of driving at 75mph on the motorway, and taking that etiquette book literally is a bit like reading the Highway Code and assume that that's how everyone drives all the time.
Richard Marsh is implying more radical behaviour by his female characters than was immediately obvious to me as a modern reader. Marjorie is written as a rebellious, independent New Woman, after all, and it might go further than I realised.

A ctivities - What do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?
He is frequently occupied by work so spending time with his s/o at work isn't something avoidable.
But other than that, he loves sight seeing, baking/cooking or just simply laying in bed together while holding each other or reading books together.
He would also enjoy going to cafés or shopping with his s/o
B eauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?
Honestly he probably admires everything about his s/o, their physical body and their personality.
He is more of the type to admire their personality though.
He would love how you show him and other people your love aka your love language, he admires your skills whatever they may be, what interests you etc.
From physical features he admires your eyes, they can show so much emotion in the blink on an eye, also eyes are pretty and they come in all sorts of colours.
C omfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?
Hugs and words.
If his s/o isn't comfortable with hugs then he'll just sit next to them and telling them everything is going to be okay.
He hates seeing his s/o and will try to cheer them up how ever he can.
If they are having a panic attack he'll tell them to sit down and look at him while he tells them everything is okay/everything is going to be okay. He might hold their hand(s).
D reams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?
Sigma definitely wants to get married and maybe have kids, but only when he knows they won't get hurt.
Also he is all in for adoption if his s/o can't give birth either cuz there is no uterus in the first place or all their eggs go bye bye yk.
He isn't really in for a surrogate tbh.
If not a child then a pet, probably a cat or something.
E qual - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?
He wants the relationship to be as equal as possible.
But there are times where he's more dominant and times when he's more passive.
F ight - Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?
It depends on what the fight was about, if it's something serious, like your or his health/safety then it will be harder for him to forgive you or himself, but if the fight is about something dumb then he will forgive quickly
He will give you some space after a fight so the two of you can rethink your actions and breathe.
The longest he didn't forgive and forget was probably like 3 - 5 days.
There aren't many arguments in the relationship, he tries avoiding them as much as possible.
G ratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?
Yes, he is very aware of what his s/o does for him and he is beyond grateful.
He wouldn't let his s/o make many sacrifices for him and the relationship because he would feel guilty and he wants his s/o to feel a happy in the relationship and not like they need to give up their life for the relationship.
H onesty - Do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?
If his s/o isn't in the doa then that is probably something he keeps hidden.
He doesn't want his s/o to worry for him or be scared of him because he is in a dangerous organisation which kills people.
But other than that he doesn't really have any secrets.
If his s/o has any secrets has any secrets he wouldn't ask them to reveal them to him unless they are damaging them either mental, physically or socially, he cares for their safety.
I nspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?
He has never loved anyone before so find out such a wonderful feeling exists changed how he sees the world, well slightly.
It made him more hopeful.
J ealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?
He doesn't get jealous easily.
He does have his insecurities so when he comes across someone who makes him feel inferior and they hit on you or show any sort of interest he does get jealous.
When that happens he kind of just becomes slightly distant but he tries not to and he tries not to show it until he forgets he was jealous in the first place.
K iss - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?
He has never kissed anyone so he was quite nervous when he first kissed his s/o.
He did get better as time went on but he isn't the best at it.
His kisses are soft and gentle, they are filled with his love and admiration for his s/o.
L ove Confession - How would they confess to their s/o?
At first he didn't know that he was in love so he was mostly confused by his feelings.
When he learned what the feeling was he got a bit shy around his s/o.
He would confess by just telling them in a calm and safe environment weather his feelings are returned or not is up to his s/o.
M arriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?
Yes, he would love to get married one day.
He would propose by spending the whole day with his s/o and doing stuff they both enjoy, after the day he would propose during the sunset in a place they both like.
Also he wouldn't propose in public.
After marriage nothing will change that much except the fact that he wears a ring now.
Also he will introduce his s/o as his wife/husband/partner or whatever lable they feel comfortable with.
Also he will have a surname finally.
N icknames - What do they call their s/o?
He goes for the more sweet pet names.
Love, sweetheart, sweetie, sugar, darling, dear, honey, or a shortened version of your name.
O n Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?
He will probably kinda like glance at them but when they catch him staring he'll quickly look away and continue whatever he was doing.
If he isn't in a relationship with his s/o many people wouldn't think he's head over heels for them.
Sigma expresses his love in many ways mostly by acts of service, words of affirmation, spending time with them, physical contact and gift giving, okay maybe he has all of the love languages.
He doesn't really express his love as much around people.
P DA - Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?
So he isn't into pda, one, he is a manager of a casino so it would be wise to stay professional; two, he is in a dangerous organisation and he doesn't want anyone to find out about their relationship; three, he isn't that comfortable being intimate around people.
Q uirk - Some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship.
He's a great listener.
He could spend hours just listening to his s/o and not getting bored of them speaking.
R omance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?
He can be rather romantic, he brings his s/o flowers, prepares a candle lit dinner, takes them on a walk along the beach during a sunset.
He can be both cliché and creative.
S upport - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?
Sigma is very supportive and helps his s/o whenever he can.
He loves them and wants them to be happy and he will help them achieve that happiness.
T hrill - Do they need to try out new things to spice out your relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?
He likes sticking to a routine but sometimes he will do something new for the two of them.
He wouldn't do anything his s/o doesn't feel comfortable with but he doesn't mind trying out new things.
U nderstanding - How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?
Sigma seems like an empathetic type but Idk.
That being said.
Sigma tries to understand his partner as much as he can and see things from their point of view.
V alue - How important is the relationship to them? What is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?
His relationship is one of the most important things to him and values the relationship and his s/o greatly.
But his casino (and its customers) is also very important to him.
It is hard for him when he has to choose between the two.
W ild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon.
He celebrates things like anniversaries of his relationship, like he remembers the date he first met his s/o, when they first started dating etc.
X OXO - Are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?
He is very affectionate.
One of his favourite activities is laying bed while cuddling his s/o.
Also he loves hugs from behind, he finds them very cute but he also likes hugging his s/o from the front.
He really likes hugs.
Y earning - How will they cope when they’re missing their partner?
Well it depends, if his s/o is gone for the day he doesn't really do anything beside thinking about them from time to time.
If they are gone for a week or more he'll call/text them a couple times per day.
If they are gone for a year (somewhere where he can't visit them) he'll call/text you every day if the both of them can.
If he knows where they are staying- he'll send them little gifts every important date or sometimes just something to let them know he's thinking of them.
If he doesn't know where they are staying- he will miss them very much and hopes that they are okay.
He might sometimes just lay in bed hugging a pillow or something imagining it's them.
Z eal - Are they willing to go to great lenghts for the relationship? If so, what kind of?
Well, he would go to great lengths for his relationship, so much so it's scary.
He is willing to commit some acts of law braking for the relationship.
He will do practically anything.

This was fun well until I remembered it's almost summer :(
Winter needs to be longer.
Also we need to stop global warming cuz winter could be a thing of the past if the earth is like 100° in the summer.
I really don't like summer.
The only good thing about summer is the song 'Summer in the city' by Joe Cocker like thats literally my fucking childhood I love that song.
Have a wonderful day/night and don't forget to hydrate! :)

I've been watching various performance clips of "The ABC Café/Red and Black" (from different stage productions, plus the movie and the concerts), and I've found I have a preference for a staging detail that varies at the end. There are two ways that the final chorus of "Red and Black" can be performed, even in productions that follow the same basic blocking where all the Amis stand up while singing and Marius finally stands up too and clasps Enjolras's hand at the end. I have feelings about those two variations.
I've found that I prefer performances where Enjolras looks around at all his friends to confirm their allegiance to the cause (only turning back to Marius at the end), and they all do so by sharing gazes and handshakes with him and with each other, than performances where the whole group fixates on Marius and sings to join Enjolras in reminding him of their "higher call." It feels more inspiring in the first staging; more about their fellowship and firm belief in their ideals. It's more sympathetic than when they're all preaching at Marius that his love means nothing compared to their cause, until he finally (temporarily) agrees with them.
Doing it the second way won't break a performance for me, but I do slightly prefer the first.
(P.S. Since I'm comparing "Red and Black" renditions, you can probably guess which character my next characterization comparison post will be about. And it's not Marius, because I've already covered him.)

So after maybe four years of not watching Les MIserables (2012) I decided to listen to the soundtrack while I do some school stuff. However, during the four years I've watched a shitton of other productions, anniversary concerts, high school productions you name it, so I have nearly all of the songs memorised.
God, I am so pissed. Not only did they cut Grantaire's solo in Drink with me and made Red and cut part in ABC Café (shit I've been aware of), but I am one minute in Look Down and they f-cking cut a big part of the song and changed the lyrics of the Valjean/Javert exchange AND IT CHANGES THE STRUCTURE OF THE WHOLE SONG!
