Rammstein connecting people...
At the Building Arena in Coventry the camera filmed the audience during the break set before Engel, but every two seconds it returned to Mr Mustache and his crazy joy showing him on the big screen, and the audience went mad.
So much so that Paul (that has noticed him on the screen), made him a legend by posting his photo on his instagram.
Tumblr media
And Mr Mustache thanked in the comments to the photo... 😊
Tumblr media
Now at the very least it would take a picture of him with Paul or a video where both screaming. That would be insane😂

Errors, “Errors,” and Sci Fi
@strawberry-crocodile
tvtropes calls stuff like the wolf example "science matches on" which I think is a pretty fair shake
This.  This is what’s got me thinking so much about errors.  There’s a certain danger, here.  A certain way that this particular effect — delicious dramatic irony — tempts the mind when reading old stories, even true ones.
What do you know about R.M.S. Titanic? I ask my class every year, and the first hand rises.  “It was unsinkable,” the student inevitably says, and everyone is nodding, “or so they thought.”  I write the word UNSINKABLE on the board, underneath my crude drawing of a ship with four smokestacks.  It will be crossed out before the end of the hour, but not for the reason they expect.
“I find no evidence,” Walter Lord, preeminent biographer of the ship’s survivors, wrote, “that Titanic was ever advertised as unsinkable. This detail seems to have entered the collective mind so as to create a more perfect irony.”  Indeed, historians’ examinations of White Star Line documents show the shipbuilders themselves worried it would be so large as to risk collision; they stocked several more lifeboats than 1910s regulations required.
The War to End All Wars (deep breath, satisfied exhale), also known as World War ONE. Chuckle.  Shake of the head.  What if I told you that this phrase, used primarily in American newspapers after the fact, wasn’t meant to be literal? Nowadays we’d say The Mother of All Wars, or One Hell of a Fucking War, but we wouldn’t mean literal motherhood, literal intercourse.  What if I said the armistice and the Lost Generation and the Roaring 20s were all braced for another outbreak of European conflict, and yet we still failed to prevent it?
Did you know they were so confident in the safety of the S.S. Challenger that they put a civilian schoolteacher onboard? I do, because I’ve heard that one repeated many times.  Only, see, it’s got the cause and effect reversed.  Challenger launched on a day the shuttle’s engineers knew to be dangerously cold, because the first civilian in space was on board. And NASA knew its shuttle project would be cancelled entirely, if they couldn’t get that civilian’s much-delayed entry into space in the next two weeks.  So they launched on a cold day, and killed her instead.
These are all what cognitive science calls Hindsight Bias on the personal level, what sociology calls Presentism on the cultural level.  Social psychology’s a little of both, is primarily interested in why you’re sitting on your couch in a Colonize Mars shirt watching PBS and chuckling at the fools who believed in El Dorado.  It wants to know why the mind flees straight from “marijuana will kill you” to “marijuana will cure cancer” without so much as a pause on the middle ground of its real benefits and drawbacks, its real (mild) risks and rewards.
And they can paralyze the sci-fi writer, if you think too much about them. Jetsons is futurist one decade, retro the next.  “There are no bathrooms on the Enterprise,” the creators of Serenity say smugly, as if Gene Roddenberry should’ve simply known that decades later it’d be acceptable to show a man peeing in full view of the camera, nothing but the curve of the actor’s hand to protect his modesty.  “No sound in space,” the Fandom Menace says, “No explosions in space,” and “A space station can’t collapse in zero-G.”  Only then NASA burns a paper napkin outside of atmosphere, transmits music using only the ghost of nearby planets’ gravities, and logs onto Reddit long enough to point out the Death Star would implode in its own gravity field.  And now we’re the ones pointing, the ones laughing, at those earlier point-and-laughers.  Self-satisfied, smug in superiority.  As if we did the work to find out ourselves, instead of just happening to be born a little later than George Lucas.

Imagine if star wars took Anakin’s chosen one-ness to the next level and instead of being born without a father he just kinda. Manifests. in the temple.
Like the Jedi are just hanging out in the gardens and suddenly there’s a bright flash and some collage-age kid in Jedi robes appears and is like ‘uh yeh I’m here to destroy the Dark and bring balance to the galaxy? If someone could just point me to the Sith Lord’
They have to tell him they have no idea where the Sith Lord is but they do know he’s at the centre of this new war and Anakin just goes ‘oh ok I guess I’ll help you with that until then’ and he becomes one of the top generals pretty much on accident bc he knows he’s here to kill the Sith and end the war but he knows literally nothing else. The clones approach him to tell him that they made up names that they’d like used instead of CT numbers and he’s like ‘what’s a name’
OR you could have him show up as some small, eldritch being with glowing eyes and an echoing voice that’s just vaguely a human youngling. He speaks in full, clear sentences using words he should not understand at that age, can look straight into someone’s soul and just generally knows things he shouldn’t.
He tells the Jedi who he is and why he is here and tells them to show him to the source of the Dark and obviously the Council is like ‘we are not sending a literal child to kill a Sith Lord’ but he’s technically young enough to be inducted into the crèche and obviously he’s some sort of sign from the Force so there he’s sent.
At first, the Chosen One is dismayed that every time he leaves the room full of toddlers to go and destroy darkness, he is promptly brought back and put in the corner. He is confused why the others his ‘age’ keep trying to convince him to play ‘tag’. He has no idea why the crèche-master takes him to the archives to help him pick a name.
The moment he chooses ‘Anakin’, his otherworldly glow dims and his head feels less full.
As the years go by and more milestones are passed (he plays tag - it was enjoyable. He makes friends. He giggles when Yoda tells jokes. He helped a broken mouse droid because it seemed like the kind thing to do) Anakin becomes more and more human, his glow almost gone and the big words he’d once known forgotten. He can no longer do the impossible feats of Force strength he once could, but that power is still inside him somewhere. Master Kenobi says it will come back to him when the time is right. But not without lots of training.
Either way, when the clones bring up nat-borns and Anakin is ???? the entire 501st misinterprets and believes that every Jedi just pops up in the Temple fully robed

Kathryn Janeway - "The Fates"
The Moirai of Greek myth. The youngest, Clotho - the spinner who controlled life, choosing when a person was born and weaving their thread of existence. The middle one, Lachesis - the allotter who measured out the length of this thread and decided a person's destiny. And the eldest, Atropos - she who was inevitable that ended a mortal's life, cutting the thread and choosing the manner of their death.

boyfemme!
boyfemme-
[PT ID: bold lowercase text reading “boyfemme”. End PT ID.]
a term for those who are femmes, but in an inherently boy way- whose boyness is femme or whose femmeness is boy or both, who are femme boys or want their queer boyhood inherently connected with being femme, like they’re only a boy through the lens of being femme! this term is just about embracing connection between being a boy and a femme, being both- a boyfemme!
this term is fully inclusive of, but not exclusive to, femme lesbians!

personal star wars opinion vent
idk why people who like old republic star wars stuff like me are so defensive of the old jedi. they werent great. thats why i like them. its ok. “the jedi were actually right” well, i have consumed more than my doctor’s recommended share of star wars movies and books and tv shows and… um, i never had THAT take. what on earth?
like, even Star Trek knows their fantasy space government isnt perfect but the authors were trying to make their best example of a responsible society where people valued being moral above all else. the authors of Star Wars were explicitly trying to show where the old republic and jedi went wrong. they lived next door to sith lords for years and didn’t even notice, like, they weren’t even good at the one thing that was their “spec-ial-ity”. also, its totally cool to separate kids from their families even if the families would want them back? even if the kids are brought to war zones and expected to fight/work? YALL. what are you defending here.
I like the old republic and the old jedi order too, but like, NEITHER one was good and both explicitly had fallen morally to such a state that a sith lord literally took over and the galaxy suffered TREMENDOUSLY as a result of their incompetence. “Slavery is outlawed in the Republic” well dude, its being openly practiced on multiple planets. if only someone could do something about it. like the galactic wide government and their highly moral magical negotiation/military force? oh, they can’t? maybe theyre not that good at doing what they say they do. maybe they say a lot of nice things but when push comes to shove the jedi commit genocides and hide the evidence (murdering those tuskens was downright jedi-like, dont you know?). maybe questioning your government and not letting them get away with shit, even to the point of direct action and even violent rebellion, is a good thing. its almost like that was always the point.

So I saw the new Spider-Verse movie and my only coherent thought was... If there was a Star Wars Spider-Man it would be Cal.
