the parallels tho between Fred(WA02) and the islanders.

Fred trying to find the missing worker but then seeing so much about the islanders. The workers don't interact with the islanders, how much do they even know about it? Did they even know before the investigation that the eggs were missing? Did they even care? Was it like when you hear things on the news but it doesn't directly affect you so you don't really think about it much?

But then WB011 goes missing and WA02 needs to find them because they care for their workers. But they've had little interaction with the islanders and only really seen Badboyhalo who was a little aggressive that they needed bodyguards now around the islanders.

WA02 wants to find their worker but they're going around interacting with the islanders for the first time and for once getting just an upfront seat of how grief stricken these islanders are. They're missing their kids, they have pictures and signs of the kids that they show off. Fred already told Bad that they would miss their penpal but they know it doesn't compare to how Bad feels about his missing kids.

HRGH JUST Something about there being such a big divide between the Federation workers and the islanders but with the current lore they're beginning to know one another, they're beginning to see that they're pretty much the exact same even. Both trapped within circumstances maybe just... They're so much more alike than they realize. I love learning more about the Federation.

fingers crossed i picked the right thing to fix so the prickly pear mead isn’t as acidic as the black raspberry mead i made over the summer (too many tannins)

tho i just tasted the black raspberry mead and it’s way less acidic now than i remember it being when i bottled it 2 months ago so hopefully even that will wind up v tasty in a few more months? and i tasted the shorter bottle that has a lot more particulate so i know it’s not gonna taste as good as the other bottle (also it’s...definitely still fermenting. there were bubbles. i. did not plan for this nor expect it so it’s probs a good thing i tasted it bc they’re not in bottles with corks that breathe so burping is needed so i don’t explode things. that would be MESSY and unfortunate)

also fingers crossed that i picked remotely close to a correct ratio of prickly pear juice to honey
