the more i look at Jin-Chul (especially his manhwa counterpart portrayal) i remember that one boy who lived in next apartment to mine when I was little.

/side note I was born and lived near Baikal lake so there were many Yakut and Buryat people as well as Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Mongolian people/

and so that boy was actually of russian-korean descent and surprisingly enough had almost blond hair and was really nice (like yeah whole idea is based on fact Jin-Chul has non classy natural hair color for Korea so—)

anyway just think about jin-chul being half russian descent and then he pretty much doesn’t even know it because he was taken to Korea back when he was really young and then ended up in orphanage for one reason or another and was an outcast because he looked differently from others—

Lord of War (2005)

A crime drama about Yuri Orlov (played Nicolas Cage) a notorious gun smuggler and his wins and losses. Now, critics rated this movie about a B-, better than average but not too good, I'd say it ranks a bit higher its like an 8/10 movie.

So I don't usually watch crime dramas ever I don't really have any past movies to base this off of to figure out it's quality, I thought it was pretty good at its drama about the crime though, and the opening and ending scenes were very good, the ending especially hit kind of hard. honorable mention to the bullet pov intro which used cgi to move a camera through the process of making a bullet I thought that was very good, and the time-lapse sequence later on about halfway through I want to say, that was very good as well.

sidenote: I'm beginning to think 2000s movies are kind of where it's at if you are wanting to find quality? there's still real sets with real set design, very teal sometimes too which isn't a downside. I need to rewatch all 3 matrixes

Lot's of memorable characters there isn't really a background character for you to forget the name of, I guess that's the benefit of dramas they have more depth, more character to 'em. the uncle, the cia agent, the wife, the brother, the warlord. very memorable the relationships between em all and the titular lord of war, very good. I'm beginning to think I should get into crime dramas or something.

Rating: recommended viewing, probably not something that'll grab everyone's attention but it grabbed mine. it's also recommended you get a version with subtitles there's a lot of non-english dialogue in this movie.

Nicolas Cage returns to play arms dealer Yuri Orlov. In "Lords of War" "It" star Bill Skarsgård embodies the son of the "dealer of death".

Nicolas Cage (59) becomes the "dealer of death" again. According to Variety, the actor reprises his role as charismatic arms dealer Yuri Orlov 18 years after 'Lord of War'. As in the first part in 2005, Andrew Niccol (58, "Gattaca") will direct and write the screenplay.

The sequel will be called "Lords of War". Because it will not only be about Cage's Yuri Orlov, but also about his son. The arms dealer finds out that he has an illegitimate son named Anton. He works in the same business as his producer. Anton assembles a mercenary army in the Middle East. This creates conflicts with his father.

The actor for Anton has already been determined: Bill Skarsgård (32) is the chosen one. With his performance as the horror clown Pennywise in the Stephen King film adaptations "It", the Swede has established himself as a gifted villain actor of the present. In addition to "Lords of War", the son of actor Stellan Skarsgård (71) will soon be seen in remakes of "Nosferatu" (2022) and "The Crow" (1994).

Although Lord of War wasn't a big box office hit in 2005, it is considered one of Nicolas Cage's best films of the past 20 years.

Incidentally, the character of Yuri Orlov was inspired by Viktor Anatolyevich But (56). The Russian arms dealer was released from American custody at the end of 2022 as part of a prisoner exchange for US basketball player Brittney Griner (32), who was imprisoned in Russia.
