i just sifted through my notes app and there are so many fun fic ideas... i'm dying. why aren't i writing these???
1. the follow-up to the yu ziyuan/jin-furen fic where now they're married to their husbands but fed up and want to run away together. only yu ziyuan is pregnant again, and jin-furen can't trust her husband to keep jin zixuan safe. it's more about yu ziyuan coming to accept yunmeng as her home and figuring out what boundaries she needs to set to survive it (i.e. not answering to jiang-furen), and also her complicated fear(?) of motherhood, especially when it comes to jiang cheng. but jin-furen is still her most important person, so it'd still be a little shippy.
2. hwi taking seon-ho to swim for the first time and navigating the emotional minefield that entails. and seon-ho being absolutely giddy about them both surviving until he gets home and it's clear nam jeon knows where he's been. nam jeon does kind of get under his skin, but seon-ho has a reminder in his pocket (hwi's hair tie that he took without asking), which he holds onto as a reminder that hwi didn't die, hwi won't die, not because of him. (he will take this talisman out from its hiding place every time he needs it until after the military exam because by then he can't believe in it anymore)
3. wei wuxian trying to prepare for his wedding alone and struggling, but jiang cheng shows up to help him set up and comb his hair, even though he wasn't invited to the wedding, and even though it should be yanli. because wei wuxian needs him, and, for once, he can do something. they only barely relax into each other's presence before jiang cheng finishes, but it's important because wei wuxian gets concrete proof that he doesn't have to lose a family to gain a family (despite what previous experiences have suggested), and jiang cheng gets to tell wei wuxian that he approves of the marriage, if only because "it's easier to lose you like this" (thinking of the other ways jiang cheng has lost wei wuxian) - and it isn't perfect, but they're both still here, and it's a rare chance they get to stop and appreciate it together.
4. bai chuan and fang xu's relationship from childhood to adulthood, and all the ways they misunderstand and resent each other (affectionately, usually). at one point fang xu breaks his arm and has to whisper his moves into bai chuan's ear to set the pieces, and bai chuan gets increasingly mad because he realizes that fang xu holds back when they play each other. at one point they fight because fang xu says sometimes he hates weiqi, and bai chuan takes it personally and tells him to just quit then, but fang xu says can't because he *is* weiqi and if he quits he'll die. and bai chuan is so frustrated with his own inadequacies he doesn't really understand what is fang xu is trying to tell him until they're much older and living separate lives. anyway, obviously a happy ending on this one. i just like to think about them sharing a bed, and bai chuan being the one to tell fang xu he needs glasses (which of course fang xu ignores because how can he need glasses when he's "perfect").
5. a short yanli-centric fic where she finds her mother drunk and depressed after jin-furen's annual visit to yunmeng has ended. yu ziyuan is the only one to notice that yanli is sad that jin zixuan is gone, too, and makes a comment about how yanli is cursed just like her. yanli has always wondered what it would be like to finally be *seen* by yu ziyuan, and even to be compared to her formidable mother (just once), but now that it's happened, she doesn't like it, and she doesn't agree with it either, and, like, that's a lot to process, but she'll come out a stronger and better person for it.

Reactions to Trash Boss's Chapter 128
TLDR; Cale descends to the ground. Someone gains enlightenment. Cale apologizes. Angry Demon is this world's Clopeh.
Soos?
LSH = ❌
CJS = ❌
This entire chapter was hilarious. Let's start with the new character, the Pavilion Master of the Manners and Truth Pavilion. He gained enlightenment from just watching Cale descend to the ground, 🤣🤣🤣🤣
There was the cliche of breaking the signboard of a school commonly found in martial arts fiction. However, it was not because some outsider picked a fight with the school. It just suffered from the aftermath of Toonka stopping Sima Jung from barging in the school.
Back to the Pavilion Master, he was shocked to see the cracked signboard that he almost fainted. Thankfully, Un Seon, the female ascetic from the Kunlun School who was part of Elder Ho's group, supported the Pavilion Master before he collapsed.
So you can imagine the scene before Cale's descent. Good Faction peeps and Evil Faction peeps bickering and about to fight, Un Seon supporting the shocked Pavilion Master, and other people speechless at the chaos. 😂
Something like this GIF:
Tumblr media
And then Cale (and CH) descended via invisible Raon's flying magic.
Everyone's reactions were hilarious.
Peng Yu from the Peng Clan of Hebei was convinced that Cale was in control of all elements as he thought Cale used the wind to fly and land.
Pavilion Master takes the cake in the most hilarious reaction.
If you recall, the Kunlun School was famous for a certain technique, the Great Eight Styles of the Dragon in the Clouds. It was a martial arts footwork that resembled a dragon roaming around the clouds.
Some more explanation. The Manners and Truth Pavilion researched the "essence" of the Kunlun School, and that included the manners and conduct of how someone in their school should act and move.
Thus, when the Pavilion Master saw Cale's descent, he shuddered.
That subtle yet graceful appearance, the gait... Isn't that like a dragon roaming around the clouds!
No, Cale just felt lazy going down the stairs, so he had Raon use flying magic... 😄
The manners of a Kunlun member are contained there.
Okay, yeah... Cale's movements are indeed graceful because he's a noble.
In fact, his steps are not great. There's no sense of intimidation, no momentum. He just stepped down. But that's why it's so subtle and beautiful. Like the first step of a baby. Yes, the "essence" should be contained in one's steps.
W-What? Calm down, Pavilion Master.... How did Cale stepping down end up with this... poetry and analysis? 🤣
And then, Pavilion Master assumed a meditation pose because he attained enlightenment.... 🤣🤣🤣 Even Un Seon was surprised and confused. 😂
Cale saw the mess and apologized to Un Seon. He also offered to compensate for the broken stuff. And as usual, we get another misunderstanding.
Cale: I'll replace the door with a strong and sturdy door.
Un Seon: He's not simply talking about a literal door! He must be saying that he would be a strong door of the Central Plains to protect us from the upcoming war!
As for Toonka, he was not knocked out. Apparently, he only accidentally broke the door and the signboard when he tried to stop Sima Jung from barging in the school. Toonka was even proud of what he did, looking at Cale with a "Did I do a good job?" expression. Of course, our Cale was annoyed.
When Sima Gong tried to apologize to Cale about what his fellow Evil Faction members did, Cale told him that he should be saying that to the Kunlun School. Thus, Cale's impression on the Good Faction people further increased positively, like "He's such a noble and righteous person!"
Lastly, Cale met up with Angry Demon from the Demon Cult. But Raon described Angry Demon as having the appearance of Billos but the fiery gaze of Clopeh whenever he shouted about legends. 🤣🤣🤣
And that is all for my reactions. See you all next Wednesday!
Those who know principle and propriety are devoid of hesitation in their steps, and only naturalness lingers. Where the steps have passed, pride will naturally linger. For it is where those who know principle and propriety have passed.
The doors of Kunlun might be broken, its signboard cracked. But pride will not cease on the path the Kunlun has passed. Like the steps of Young Master Kim. -Pavilion Master on describing Young Master Kim's steps

Immortal Being that Still Somehow has Parent Issues: Myul Mang/Doom (Doom at your Service) Lee Yeon & Lee Rang (Tale of the Nine Tailed) Jeong Gu-won (My Demon)
Added trauma flavour: Parent was murdered in front of them (**Still counts if they survived the murder Parent tried to murder them Dying from seemingly incurable disease which makes their parents/guardian sad (If your parents are alive, you must pay for it by dying yourself) Adoptive parent/stepparent is THE WORST
Somehow has normal parents: Lee Jun-ho (Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Has no backstory at all. We only meet his older sister and hear nothing about his childhood.) Shin Ha-ri (Business Proposal, her family is refreshingly normal, right down to her brother being sent out to find her when she's drunk) Oh Han-byeol (Sh**ting Stars, Again, we know almost nothing about her family, only that she has twin sisters. But she doesn't appear to have childhood trauma.) Park Yeon-woo (The Story of Park's Marriage Contract, her mom being annoyed at her for something that is a crime doesn't count as bad parenting) Lee Young-joon/Sung-hyun (What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, his trauma comes from a kidnapper, his parents faced a pretty impossible situation and did their best. They clearly love their kids)
*Counting her as an orphan even though she gets her parents back after 20 years, she spent her childhood orphaned.
***This character is tricky because I understand why her mother wanted nothing to do with her, but her trying to manipulate the dad and also saying he didn't raise her properly made me so angry. Uncatagorized due to lack of clarity on parents: Soundtrack #1, Hospital Playlist, Happiness

Cotton Candy
A childish romance.
Chapter 1: children.
"So-Yeon! Com' on! Let's play together!"-my eyes flickered as the sunlight hit my eyes, my hands covered in sand. A childhood memory of my friends and I plays out in front of me--"what's wrong so-yeon?"-a sweet voice asks me.my friends come up to me with playful smiles. I can't help but smile brightly as I'm surrounded by three friendly faces. My childhood friends; Seon-hyuk, Min-Ho, and Yu-Jin.
Waves flow gracefully, seagulls squawking and squealing in the bright blue sky. My memory of a beach day with friends! A memory that lives on in my dreams.-"awh don't worry it's nothin'! Com' on let's play castle!"-i got up and ran towards the shoreline, my friends following along with their big bright smiles, the sun shining on us like if it was guiding us along the way.
As it slowly started to fade.. my eyes opened slightly, the first thing I see clearly is my ceiling fan above me. My morning alarm was ringing, slowly causing my head to hurt-"ugghhh"-I groaned, slowly rolling off my bed-THUNK-"ouuchhh..."-i as i was fully awake now, i stumbled towards my drawer to get my school uniform, as I slowly got ready for my first day of highschool, I wondered how my school year would go-"dang.....i'm hungrryyy"-my stomach growled. I opened my drawer and tied my hair into my cute pigtails!-"eh, it'd do!"-my usual bright smile played in my expression as i grabbed my bag and stormed out of my front door with a piece of waffle in my mouth. Its my first day of highschool! Might as well add to the clichés!
-"HEY! WHERE DO YOU THINK YOUR GOING!?"-i slowly turned around to see my childhood friends walking towards me. Seon-hyuk, ran towards me and scolded me for almost leaving without them, when we promised to walk to school together a few days ago and that this wasn't the first time this had happened---i totally forgot--"heyyyyy buddies..."-I hesitantly said, feeling a bit guilty for almost leaving them behind. Seon-hyuk ruffled my hair teasingly-"agh don't worry 'bout it. Let's just go already."-he said before he put his bag over his shoulder and started walking away like how a delinquent from an anime would.
((hey lovelies! It's me again sorry I didn't post sooner..i was trying to revise this as much as possible with my friends! This is just chapter 1 but if you want more pls let me know in the comments! ;D I'm also open to constructive criticism or suggestions for stories and stuff! Thank you so much for reading! Baiii~(≧▽≦) ))

now do prince yu
OH BOY
I swear, like.... I obsess over Seon-ho and MCS on an intellectual level and write fanfic about them and stuff but is there anyone that makes me go "ITS HIM, THE GUY" like Prince Yu??? I really don't know.
Tumblr media
Some notes:
-I'm sorry I made almost all the slidey things in the middle but listen, he's... a moderate guy.
Prince Yu is great company most of the time. He's polite, even flattering. He likes to chat and give presents. But then when he's discouraged he sits around and mopes and gets drunk and I feel kind of bad for Banruo dealing with it. That said, an angry or discouraged Prince Yu is honestly still easier to deal with than pretty much anyone else in the royal family, possibly including Jingyan. Like, he'll hear you out. He enjoys the feeling of being benevolent and gracious, he likes people to like him. So yeah I'd hang with Prince Yu. Any day.
Everyone SHOULD love Prince Yu but in fact many ppl do hate him. It's just bad taste. (Yes, MCS, I'm talking to you!!!!)
See below on trauma.... he has a lot of trauma but until he gets wrecked he also has a lot of good times and less tragedy than some in canon. Until. But let's not get into that for now, I'm in denial.
Prince Yu is sometimes very smart but I also almost filled in the box for himbo bc he can also be Pretty Dumb. This is a man who needs trustworthy strategists.
He tried really hard to play by the "rules" of court to become Crown Prince but when it failed, ahaha, we see that breaking the rules is hardly anathema to him. (And yes I am calling corruption playing by the rules; this is a very corrupt court where bribery, embezzlement, etc are honestly expected.)
-All things considered his tragic backstory isn't as bad as the backstory of many on the show but you do have to consider that being a prince in this royal family sucks for everyone. Constantly fighting for power and Daddy's love, constant paranoia. And then your dad kills your brother and makes you deliver the poison (which, opinions may differ, but I don't think Prince Yu was super happy about this, even if he benefited from Prince Qi's death in the long run). There's his parentage and his Hua heritage, of course, although Prince Yu didn't know that until way late in the game (does it count as a tragic backstory if it's a secret you didn't know about? maybe if it affects your current life despite your knowledge). Not to mention how he was tragically in love with Lin Shu who never realized his affections and then died (okay, I'll shut up).
-He does not give me violent urges in the sense that I want to hurt him but thinking about him does make me want to bang my fist against a table while wailing, "HE COULD HAVE HAD IT ALL, DAMN IT!!!"
PRINCE YUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!

Micro BL Reviews
For things that I’ve watched or am watching but for whatever reason (laziness, it’s laziness) didn’t decide to do an episode by episode review.
Recently Started/Finished
Oh! My Assistant - this one was off to such a good start, but I feel like it just fell apart for me. Part of it was the ridiculous jealousy plots - usually I can forgive people not talking to each other but dear lord they went on so long. But I think most of it was that it felt like the drama was more invested in Joon Seok’s unrequited love for Mu Young than in the actual main couple. I did really like the part with Seon Ho coming to terms with his bisexuality, though. That was good. 7/10
My School President - Cute, but for whatever reason isn’t grabbing me much. Will probably put it on the back burner until it’s complete.
The New Employee - I have high hopes for this one. I really like it so far and if I like ep three as much as I did one and two I will probably talk about it more. I am liking this new thing Korea is doing where people are explicitly gay or bi, no sidestepping - and I like very much that our MC belonged to a gay club in college, and his BFF is a lesbian. Give me more of this, Korea, please, and give the lesbian a cute girlfriend. I also am also really digging the chemistry between the leads - we’ve only got a kiss on the cheek so far but I’m honestly buying that Mr. Bossman can’t stay away from the cute intern, and I can’t wait to see how much harder it’s gonna get for him (pun so very intended) in the future.
The Director Who Buys Me Dinner - I like this one. I’m not entirely sure why, because it’s kind of a mess, but I do. looking forward to some backstory in the next ep, wondering wtf possessed Dong Baek in ep...two, I think? And also very much wondering what Denis’ deal is. I don’t think he’s genuinely interested in Dong Baek, that’s for damn sure. That said, I think I like him anyway, so long as whatever he’s doing doesn’t result in some time-skip separation between Dong Baek and Yu Dam. Korea seems to be going a bit old school with this one, so if we do get a kiss I expect it will be bad, but I’m happy enough with hugs. Both of them look like really good huggers tbh, and I get a kick out of the way that Yu Dam always bends down to get his chin in the crook of Don Baek’s shoulder. I don’t know if I’m feeing the chemistry between them but I’m sure feeling something.
Rewatches
Semantic Error - my goodness do I love this drama. If Eternal Yesterday didn’t exist it’d be my top BL of the year, and for sure it’s the one I’ve watched the most (I adore Eternal Yesterday but I have to prep both my emotions and my sinuses for those rewatches). I love everything about it - sure the plot is simple but the chemistry more than makes up for it. I love the cinematography, the music, the acting. The chemistry between the MCs is wonderful and they are also proof that Korea can actually do a good kiss when it wants to. One of two 10/10 shows for me this year.
Love By Chance - aw, baby’s first MAME, and pretty much the only one that I really like (that I’ve watched). The first time I watched I was totally about TIn/Can, but now I have come to really appreciate Ae/Pete a lot more, and they’re the reason I stuck with the rewatch. They’re so sweet, and I love the earnest way that Ae stumbles through falling hard for the first time, I also found a weird new appreciation for Pond. Never expected that one.

Unlock my Boss / Unlock the CEO (2022-23)
Tumblr media
I enjoyed this, though it's not really that deep. A well written corporate thriller with a bonkers premise — the "missing" CEO isn't just kidnapped, he's also trapped in a phone!
What Worked
What made this work is the characters. The protagonists were flawed and easy to relate to and cheer for. The villains were greedy, unscrupulous and believably bad. And for most of it, you didn't know who to trust, including the voice of the trapped CEO pulling the strings!
What Didn't Work
The plot was very convoluted at times and there were times when the obstacles being thrown at them don't make sense. Also, the way these obstacles got resolved seemed a little too convenient. I also got annoyed with some of the PPE, but that's how this goes sometimes.
The Performances
Chae Jong-hyeop as "the jobseeker" Park In-seong. This guy was fun to watch, and pretty much carried the show. It was great to watch someone who is completely out of their depth, but is fighting to stay positive throughout.
Seo Eun-soo as "the secretary" Jung Se-yeon. The character was meant to be a stoic (who eventually opens up when she meets the right people). Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between a stoic and an actor who is a little too wooden. Overall, I liked the portrayal and enjoyed cheering for Jung Se-yeon, but I didn't miss her much when she was off-screen.
Park Sung-woong as "trapped CEO" Kim Seon-joo. Lots of good voice acting, and you spend so much time thinking about this voice in the phone being the character that when you finally see the actor on screen, it's almost a shock. Overall a good performance.
Kim Sung-oh as "baby loanshark" Ma-pi. I liked what they did with this character overall, and the actor did a good job of playing the heavy.
Ki So-yu as "the adorable daughter" Kim Min-ah. Child actors are usually hit or miss in kdrama-land, but this was a noteworthy performance from someone so young. There were a number of times when she outacted the grownups.
Lee Sang-hee as "evil lady executive" Oh Mi-ran. I think the writers made her plotline and arc a little confusing, but I completely understood the motivations behind all of it, and the actor did a great job making the character believably bad.
Jung Dong-hwan as "evil old man executive" Oh Young-geun. I disliked this guy, even when he ended up being slightly less evil than the other executives. Kind of wished he'd gotten more comeuppance, but I guess that just means the actor did a great job.
The parents. It felt like these characters were off on their own planet at times. I liked the scenes with Park In-seong, but the rest of it was hit or miss for me.
The henchmen. The action scenes were good. The henchies were a little interchangeable at times, but the actors did a good job overall with making them punch-ably bad.
Everyone else. The best friend (Yoon Byung-hee as Jung Hyeon-ho) was fun to watch though like the parents he was kind of on his own planet. The other people were pretty forgettable.
TL; DR:
This was a fun show with good characters and some decent performances. If you're looking for something new, this is definitely worth a look.

Go Soo and Kim Dong-hui, in a tense confrontation with Nam Hyun-woo, the 'criminal soul' with a pistol
Tumblr media
In the tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Missing: They Were There 2', Go Soo and Kim Dong-Hwi face a tense confrontation with detective spirit Nam Hyeon-Woo, who aims a gun at them.
‘Missing: They Were There 2’ (Director Min Yeon-Hong Lee Ye-Rim/Screenwriter Ban Ki-Ri Jung So-Young/Hereafter ‘Missing 2’) In the last broadcast, the past of Yoo Yong-Yong (Kim Dong-Hwi) was revealed. While Oh Yoo-yong followed his friend Kim Pil-joong (Jung Yoon-jae) to deliver drugs to pay for his mother's hospital bills, he saw the news that his father, who was drunk with the drugs he delivered, murdered his son, and was suffering from guilt for committing the murder. Upon hearing this, Kim Wook cleared up all the misunderstandings about Oilyong, and the two became close like brothers. Along with this, Kim Wook embarked on an investigation to find the body of Go Sang-cheol (played by Nam Hyun-woo), and succeeded in sublimating the spirit of Lee Ro-ha (played by Kim Ha-eon), a homeless child in Industrial Complex 3, with Jang Pan-seok (played by Heo Jun-ho) and Lee Jong-ah (played by Ahn So-hee). It raised interest in future developments.
Among them, 'Missing 2' side released a picture showing the confrontation between Kim Wook, Oh Oil Yong and detective spirit Ko Sang-cheol ahead of the 8th broadcast on the 10th (Tuesday). In the photo, Ko Sang-cheol is aiming a pistol at Kim Wook and Oil Yong. On the other hand, Kim Wook captures the gaze by revealing a determined gaze that does not waver even in front of Ko Sang-cheol's gun pointed at him. Moreover, Oh Yu-yong's expression is filled with nervousness and embarrassment, which stimulates curiosity about the situation.
Jang Pan-seok, Kang Seon-jang (Lee Jeong-eun), and Jung Young-jin (Jung Eun-pyo) seem to be surprised by the confrontation between the three and cannot take their eyes off them. Jang Pan-seok and Kang Seon-jang express their worries and concerns about them, adding to their curiosity.
