Magnus Pies: A TMA Pizza AU
-  All the entities and supernatural creatures still exist but it happens in a pizza place called the “Magnus Pies ®” established by Jonah Magnus.
- Jon is the new, under qualified manger. Very good a diffusing arguments and misinformation with customers. Practically a living coupon fraud detector. Once Martin overheard Jon use the phrase “please calm down” to a customer. Thinking that this would escalate the conversation, Martin braced himself from the kitchen. He was spooked quite a bit that the customer did calm down. He can’t tell if Jon is just that charming or if he can hypnotize people.
- Jon actually had some sliver of respect for Martin when they first met. Up until, he caught Martin whispering "Looking good little guys" to the pizzas baking in the oven. Jon has never looked at him the same since.
- Martin has mastered the customer service voice. In fact, it’s permanent. Every time he answers the phone, his voice automatically sweetens. Sasha and Tim have made fun of him for it. Working at Magnus Pies has broken him so much.
- Tim works the register. Flirts with customers so that they’ll come back. Can’t stand slow days. It’s actually Tim that makes the best pizza out of the crew.
- Ft. Sasha the pizza delivery girl. Eldritch horrors won’t stop her from delivering your pizza on time.
- Elias is the owner and hardly ever shows up.
- Instead of statement givers the customers will just overshare their supernatural encounters to the staff. Jon doesn’t think anything of people sharing their ghost stories to him. He writes it off as desperate customers craving any source of human interaction. Despite this, he remembers every tale a customer has told him.
- “Then after I kissed him, his body combusted into flames.”
“Sorry to hear that... That will be 17.89. ″
- There’s this one customer that orders questionable pizzas with special delivery instructions and has his pizza delivery scheduled every Wednesday at 5 pm. His requests went from a little strange to down right outlandish. One of his first orders, he instructed them to make a smiley face out of the pepperonis because he was “having a bad day.” One of his most recent orders was “a cheese-less pizza cheese pizza.” In the delivery instructions, he explains his doorbell is broken and suggests the delivery person to drop the pizza off in the middle of the yard and then “yell whatever feels right” to alert him of the pizza’s presence. Sasha often wonders if she has to cater to all his odd demands.
- The first time Sasha delivers to his house, the GPS malfunctioned? The customer’s house resides in a new residential area. So once she drove past the last known road, the GPS advised her to park her car and walk to her destination. She obviously ignored the computer automated voice and eventually found the house on her own. Since he always commands the delivery runner to drop the pizza outside his house, Sasha has never seen his face but the name he orders under is Micheal. (If that’s even his real name.)
- Is the pizza good? The reviews are mixed. Martin says “its fine”. Sasha thinks “it’s pretty good for the price.” Tim, on the other hand, is fully convinced that when Jonah Magnus created Magnus pizza, he had never eaten a pizza before in his life. He claims "the pizza is two hell circles away from mediocrity." If a person asked Elias, he would maintain that Magnus Pie pizza is of high quality, but the staff have never seen him eaten it before. As for Jon, he refuses to try it.
- The uniforms are pretty cute. A  transparent green tennis visor paired with a black collared shirt with logo on the right upper chest portion.
- This one time, someone spray painted a satanic circle in the parking lot and Elias botched and moaned about it for a week about how "it was driving customers away." He stops complaining about it after an angry goth boxed an old man on top of the circle one afternoon. Their fight drove in a crowd. Some people even bought a slice just to get a good view of the fight. Jon, of course, called the authorities but both parties fled before they arrived.
- Martin finds a homemade employee training tape from the 1980s hiding in the closet. It features an instructional video on how to make the pizzas but the employee or paid actress?? featured in the video disregards Magnus Pies’s official pizza guidelines™ and instead gives advice/ tips on how to cut corners (and arguably offers more valuable advice to employees). “Yeah I know the recipe calls for this much cheese but i always add to more handfuls. Most customers complain about how there isn’t nearly enough cheese -- how it’s practically tomato sauce with cheese sprinkles.” Whether it’s the dread in the lady’s eyes or the neglect of company policies, the tape is unfinished. The video cuts off after she places the pizza in the oven.
- Martin thinks the the training video is hilarious, so of course, he shares it with the rest of the staff. It’s Sasha that points out that one of the employees in the background looks like a younger version of Elias. A passionate debate breaks out on whether that person is actually Elias, but ends once Jon points out that Elias has complete heterochromia and the teenage boy in the video does not.
- On a team building trip, Martin, Sasha, and Tim admit that they are glad Jon joined the team. Ever since he joined, the workplace has never been so lively. They all agree Jon’s presence attracts the unusual. Though he will never admit it, Jon found it touching.
- Some customers would describe the pizza joint as “eerily clean.” "The vibes are simply rancid” says one customer. Even with the speaker churning out today’s hottest pop hits (in a muffled tone), it is entirely too quiet. The atmosphere is dead,” says another.
- “Little human activity and huge open spaces makes it somewhat spectral but the short wait times and fair food always brings me back. ⭐⭐⭐” - a google review from a town local
- One person gave them a bad review on Yelp. After they were done insulting the food, they moved on to assess the staff. “I’m usually not the type to complain/nit pick about employees but there was one that made me extremely uncomfortable. He wasn’t the warmest person, had an awfully posh accent, and sported dark circles under his eyes. When I spoke to him, his gaze was intense and unwavering. Throughout the entire conversation, he didn’t blink once. Even as a sat down, I could still feel his eyes lingering on me. I’m not an insecure person in the slightest but being watched like that, made me self conscious of my own breathing. I spun around once to see if he was staring at me, but to my surprise, he wasn’t. I may have never caught him staring at me, but I know he did. The sensation of being watched never ceased afterward. (half star emoji) ”
- Apparently, the joint has been open since the 1940s and despite the bad food and less than average traffic of customers, they’re still in business. There’s rumors that the Magnus Pie receives generous donations from Elias’s rich ex-lover that misses him dearly.
- Starring several disagreements/ arguments with customers. Just a bunch of misinformation that was spread by Elias to lure people into the building to feed the Eye.
- Sasha is late returning from a delivery one day, and after an hour they try to contact her. She’s unresponsive. Elias goes looking for her but comes back short. Later that night, they get a call from the hospital informing them that Sasha got into a car accident and fell unconscious upon impact. Sasha comes in for a shift a few weeks later, and nobody realizes she’s not Sasha.
- The Magnus Pies’s odd reputation attracts the attention of popular YouTuber, Melanie King. She eventually becomes a regular in hopes of catching a supernatural event on camera for her channel. After experiencing a handful of odd encounters, she becomes engrossed by the place and starts working there in hopes of piecing together an explanation for the pizzeria’s paranormal activities. She later regrets this.
- has the potential to be a good tragicomedy

ZOLAW CONCEPT: hanahaki disease, but instead of being fatal it's more like having allergies and whoever has it acts like someone with lactose intolerance where they just don't care about the cons of their actions
I have to admit that I had NO idea what this was and had to look it up.
My first thought was just...
Internet: However, Hanahaki Disease is particularly popular within fandom due to its potential for angst, hurt/comfort, pining, and general romantic tension.
Me: Yep. That's just about me.
Me: You throw some jealousy and possessiveness and there and that nails it to a tee.
Me: Hey, it turns out jealousy (sub: possessive behavior) angst, h/c, pining and grt are NOT family recipes
Me: They're just generic internet memes
(This all makes more sense if your mom is an intense baker)
I do quickly want to stay that I might not understand the full breathe of this but I DEFINITELY understand people who are lactose intolerant and just want a normal tasting latte (not your fault they sugar/vanilla all those alt milks). So I pretty much feel I have this troop down.
My only question would be who would be the infected? It would be so much easier if one of them had a sword attack to feature flowers, but the only one I can think of is Cavendish.
(Seriously, does that guy grow roses in his spare time? Like... Is 90% of his life dedicated to Rosales horticulture? If so, I respect that he's found his true passion in life. Go for it, overly pretty but broken dude. Grow them roses.)
I mean, if it were blood we have an obvious western metaphor for me to better understand. It's call Dying At The End Of A Romancic/Gothic movie from Tuberculosis. That always ends in tragedy though so I'm gonna go with the flowers.
But also of it's blood instead of flowers... Pretty sure it's be Zoro. Okay, yes, they have definitely both coughed up blood at some point but I feel like in Laws case it was, "cause, physically, my body is sick and must die" where as Zoro was like:
Zoro: *Sees Big Bubble Of Pain For Someone He Loves* Oh, I'm walking into that.
Me: Zoro, are you sure? Because you will be straight up sacrificing yourself when they COULD potentially pull out of this no pro-
Me: Fuck. You're already gone.
But that would unfortunately lead to Zoro drinking lattes not caring.
Zoro, At Punk Hazard Because Torao at Saboady And Then Cutting An Island In Half? Won't Even Drink Soup With Them. And Yet, Yes Please: *Coughs up cherry blossoms, obviously*
Zoro, To Crew: I'm fine.
Zoro, In Dressrosa Where Law Works To Save His Captain And Fights Mingo Even After Having His Arm Cut Off Yet Gets Mad At The Celebration When Zoro Grabs Him: *More Cherry Blossoms Obviously*
Zoro, To Crew: I'm FINE.
(I'm not sure what Law's flower is, so I'm just going to go with Zoro's)
(And yes technically both of them would be the thistle. Because all spiky on the outside and *motions to Zoro* Sword.)
(Can't really cough that up in a cool way)
Zoro, In Zou Where Torao Does The Most Romantic Thing Yet: Get All Angry About Something His Crew Loves And Yet Still Kinda Flirty Pissy With Zoro: *Just obviously sick*
Despite how everyone would know it by then ("He gets suck everytime he looks at Torao!" / "Ahh, that's SUPER sweet though! He must be in love!" / "Yeah, but it's never great to be I'll, Franky-bro!" / "It IS a wonder he continues to deny it, Franky, when he could due something daring." / "... Robin, what would bet that he'd do just that?") Zoro still manages to insist he's fine.
Even once they're trapped on a goddamn submarine - Zoro didn't actually understand what being on a submarine meant so thank God you're not here captain, he'd hate to have to fight you over sending him in this trip to hell - Zoro INSISTS on denying it. Insists. Insists. Insists.
Insists to all sort of medical professionals and even Law himself. Who has him practically backed into a corner at some point when Zoro is openly sick. There are flower petals at their feet and yet this idiot is saying he's fine. Like, sure, he's fine for now, but does he know the unwanted complications this could have with later medical problems? It's not as if Law cares if he's in love with his captain or not. Or maybe that creepy woman. Or... Who knows? The whole crew is weird. Point is, he thought Zoro was enough of a grown up to take this seriously but since he won't even admit it when he's being sick on front of Law.
In which case, there is nothing Law can do to help.
He did think, Mugiwara-ya was the kind of man who at least CARED about his crew, but even after telling the captain of the Straw hats he gets nothing. Which is crazy because Law's seen him sick since almost the day...
Robin: Strange how our swordsman never seems to show signs of his illness in front of our captain.
Law: He's likely holding back the worst of the attacks.
Robin: Yes, that seems very possible. So they'd only appear once a blue moon. About how we've met you on our route, Torao-kun! *Smile*
MedTech: Our calculations actually showed very similar dates...
Law: You're referring to...
MedTech: *Sinking in his seat* I mean... look.... when he met us with us, sir.
Law: Right, so obviously....
Law: *Based on the staring* Right
Law: Shit.

In the best scenario, the twins would've been played by Romani actors, Pietro wouldn't have died, Wanda's character wouldn't be (I was gonna write a bunch of stuff about her cowardly !bad¡ and frustrating arc in the movies but) whatever that is and her show would employ even more voices bts and in front of it... if the Popularity Boost and Movie Synergy cards are to be used, I only hope for a Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver mini/ongoing and the twins!!!!!
The Maximoffs are flawed characters who represent a lot of what's wrong with the conception of Romani people in popular media, but, as I've said before, the material can very easily be tweaked to create a realistic and respectful representation. For as long as the rest of the world insists on putting GRT ppl in their fiction, be that through direct depiction or racialized stereotypes, there need to be Roma characters whose lives reflect real lived experiences of their community. There need to be active and visible Roma characters in historical narratives and political commentary. There need to be Roma characters in genre fiction that exist outside of racist tropes. For as long as y'all continue to make Esmaraldas and Carmens, there needs to be more of that ^ and the Maximoffs could very easily be that. Every adaptation is a chance to rework these characters into something that would create real change in pop culture, especially a mainstream superhero movie, but every single one has failed to deliver.
This is a long way of saying that yes, Roma actors should be getting these jobs and cashing the checks, but that is only a small part of the conversation that we should be having about "representation".
Anyhow, I feel confident saying that Wanda and/or the Vision will enjoy some kind of increased visibility when the tv series drops. Scarlet Witch and Vision both launched the same year that Age of Ultron came out. Fortunately, neither of those books were really influenced by the movie-- I'd actually say they were moving in opposite directions. Here's hoping the pattern holds this time around.

(3rd Feb) - Jeremiah
Today I took the group to Dona Paula to shoot some B-Roll and also to show them the location (PRODUCER) (DIRECTOR). Dona Paula, like Miramar Beach, is a very popular location in Goa. There is Goan rumour that it was named Dona Paula after a Portuguese woman (back in the 17th century) who fell in love with a Goan fisherman, their marriage was forbidden and because of that, she killed herself at the clifftop which is now known as Dona Paula. Although sceptics claim it's not true, a lot of the Goans believe it. The forbidden love story parallels its story to the Goa Rainbow Trust and gay relationships (maybe a possible plotline for the documentary).
Andrew, unfortunately, was not feeling well this day, when we were out on the jetty Andrew said the sun was really harsh and said he wanted to go in the shade. I was fine with it, he passed me the camera and went in the shade. Since we were only here for the day I then decided to capture shots of the location and the people in it (CO-CAMERAMAN). Down below are some shots I took of the area:

Later on, I decided to take them to take them to a nearby beach (PRODUCER) where we could relax and Andrew could film some B-Roll as there was shade there too. I then spent the day there brainstorming ideas (DIRECTOR) for the documentary with the group telling them ideas I came up with  like:
1. The structure of the documentary - I suggested how we could structure the documentary, starts off with interviews of people’s views of LGBT+ people and then goes onto real-life stories of LGBT+ individuals in Goa.
2. Creating two documentaries - One for the GRT and one for the western audience.

my last part of the message/audience/context focused on my arrest at a kill the bill protest. we were protesting the governments proposed police crime and sentencing bill that aims to criminalise ‘noisy protests’, give the police more power over stop and searches, and further criminalise the GRT communities
i was experimenting with screen printing for this project, and was focusing on screen printing onto newspaper as a way to reach my audience. i wanted to screen print onto the sun but i didn’t want to buy a copy so i had to make do with the metro, but i found an article in the paper about the race report that came out claiming that the uk isn’t a racist country and thought it would be quite powerful to screenprint these words over that
i came up with the idea to ‘hack the bbc’ as a new way of reaching my audience and created a series of idents that i would subtly add my own message to
for my culture and context unit i was looking at how neoliberalism effects marginalised identities, focusing partially on trans people and how our lives are often the subject of ‘debates’ around issues that have no place being debated on. i’ve included an instillation from the artist Emmett Ramstad, he says that
‘the fence is emblematic of this neoliberal agenda in the United States and the idea that one can purchase safety, privacy, and freedom if you have the means. Single stall “gender neutral” bathrooms awkwardly reflect the institutions that make them. the piece is a reflection of the ‘othering’ our society forces on trans people
from my previous work and my own interests and ambitions in life it seems like the best focus point for the synthesis project would be art as activism. as someone who is very politically active it feels only natural that i would bring my activist influences into my work
this is the poster i created a few weeks ago when i was still finishing up the last project. it’s more of a mindmap really of all the different things i’m interested in, themes i was exploring previously and new directions i could go in the next project.
my keywords were taken from the work i was doing in the last unit and the brainstorming i was doing for this unit. really the last slide was full of keywords i could have used but here i just tried to narrow it down to five, though they may change in the future depending on where my project goes
to me, art as activism is something that feels like a often overlooked part of the art world. activism is the reason we have the rights we have to day, the reason we are closer to achieving a more equal society and the reason we often have such strong communities.
art and activism go hand in hand, as the decisions we make and our core values are often always political, whether we realise it or not, and that extends to the work we produce
in the book, paper politics, Josh MacPhee talks about printmaking as a medium of expression and the connection between the printmaker and their art, and by extension the connection between the artist and the audience. i think the work we produce is often an extension of ourself and thus anyone who is viewing our art is viewing a part of the artist.
thinking about what josh said about prints being an extension of the artist, and because i’ve been both working with digital and print in the past i thought maybe for this unit i could try to find the cross section between these three areas. maybe focusing on the moving image aspects of digital work and if it’s even possible to bring printmaking into a digital world
i’ve been doing some research into the history of art as activism and how artists and collective use art as a medium of protest. as well as looking at the influence art movements from history have had on more modern day artists and political campaigns. i’m gonna go over a couple of the things i’ve been looking at here.
dadaism satirised the bourgeois capitalist society of the early 20th century and has had a lasting influence for the past 100 years, especially with the zine movement that rose in popularity in the 70s and 80s through the DIY punk and queercore scenes
so aids activism and queer activism in general is something that is really important to me. kieth caring is one of my favourite artists so i’ve used him as an example here but there are countless artists who’s work has had a massive influence on the community and the work these activists were doing in the 80s is still important to this day
emory douglass was an artists i was looking at during my last project. he’s a designer who worked for the black panther party during the 60s. he created a wide range of posters including these anti-american war posters, that pointed out that the real fight was at home, with home being america and the fight being the civil rights movement.
russian constructivism has had a clear influence on activist and political art for the past century. you can see a clear connection between the original styles and the work of shepard fairey, the designer who created the obama’s ‘hope’ campaign
finally we have a video from the hacktivist group Electronic Disturbance Theater showing a mobile phone application intended to guide individuals who were making their way to the United States through the deserts of the U.S./Mexico borderlands to water.

2018 WorldSBK Season officially launched in Australia
With expectation building ahead of the ever popular Yamaha Finance Australian Round, Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit played host to the now traditional MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship season launch, as the 2018 stars of the series welcomed the new season with open arms in front of the world’s media.
Set on the unique Paddock Show stage, Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team), Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati), Leon Camier (Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team), Michael van der Mark (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team), Jordi Torres (MV Agusta Reparto Corse), Lorenzo Savadori (Milwaukee Aprilia), Loris Baz (GULF Althea BMW Racing Team), PJ Jacobsen (TripleM Honda World Superbike Team), Lucas Mahias (GRT Yamaha Racing Team) and Anthony West (EAB antwest Racing) spoke about the stunning season ahead, as they look forward to what is set to be a spectacular 2018 season and a thrilling opening round around Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.
Riders spoke about their aspirations for the year ahead, as well as the new rules which are set to be implemented – something that all riders are looking forward to. Explaining they are keen to see how these rules work out, all eight riders are setting their sights high ahead of 2018. Set in the backdrop of rider favourite Phillip Island, there is bound to be plenty of on track action to keep an eye on. Whilst with the introduction of new riders and new teams, it will be a season to remember.
WorldSBK Executive Director Daniel Carerra was thrilled to officially launch the championship Down Under: “I think there is no better place to start the championship than Phillip Island. There is an amazing atmosphere, the layout of the track is one of the best in the world and the races are always decided on the last lap, we are looking forward to another fantastic event. We have been working with Phillip Island to implement some changes this year, as we continue to follow the strategy of bringing the action closer to our fans. Fans can now enjoy Parc Ferme, which will be brought into the paddock as we saw last year in Qatar, so we are looking forward to seeing all the fans enjoying the weekend.”
Three-time and reigning world champion Jonathan Rea can’t wait to get back on his Kawasaki bike: “It’s really nice to start the championship here, the circuit has done an incredible job and the track looks fantastic. Testing has been going well and I feel quite strong, so I’m looking forward to the lights going out on Saturday and Sunday. It’s the first event of many through the season and I’m just trying to kick off in a positive way, I have a lot of support and family coming to this round. As Daniel pointed out, its one of the races that’s always exciting on the last lap, so it’s one I look forward to.”

I am very happy to start racing at Phillip Island, it’s a very nice track for me. I don’t have as much stress as last year, it’s the same bike, the same team and I’m enjoying the racing on a good bike.”

WorldSSP: Rolfo clinches victory in sensational show
In the closest ever finish the class has seen, the first WorldSSP race of the year at the Yamaha Finance Australian Round brought immense levels of drama. With Roberto Rolfo (Team Factory Vamag) emerging victorious as he beat Lucas Mahias (GRT Yamaha Official WorldSSP Team) by just +0.001s across the line, with Anthony West (West Racing) also on the podium.
In a shortened and restarted 10-lap race – after an earlier red flag – Rolfo held his nerve on the finish straight to edge Mahias out by the narrowest of margins over the Phillip Island finish line. It was later announced the Frenchman was handed a one second penalty following the last lap tussle, but he kept hold of his second position.
There was last lap drama as Jules Cluzel (CIA Landlord Insurance Honda) and Federico Caricasulo (GRT Yamaha Official WorldSSP Team) had a spectacular collision at MG when both were in contention for victory, with another front runner Alex Baldolini (Race Department ATK#25) also suffering and falling back to finish 13th.
Veteran rider West took a popular third place as a wild card, with Kyle Ryde (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) and Niki Tuuli (Kallio Racing) also in the top five.
Pole man PJ Jacobsen (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) crossed the line sixth after a hectic afternoon for him, with the top ten completed by Aiden Wagner (GEMAR Team Lorini), Kazuki Watanabe (Team Kawasaki Go Eleven), Nacho Calero (Orelac Racing VerdNatura) and Lachlan Epis (Response RE Racing).
The original race had been red flagged after a big crash for Robin Mulhauser (CIA Landlord Insurance Honda) at turn 6, with Gino Rea (Team Kawasaki Go Eleven) also crashing out when there were 13 laps of the scheduled 15 to go.
The restarted race over 10 laps gave Baldolini and Jacobsen a second chance, with Baldolini having crashed and Jacobsen having dropped back through the field with an apparent technical issue just before the red flag.
But it was not Jacobsen’s day as the American rider ran off track at turn 10 early in the restarted race and eventually finished five seconds back from the front group in sixth.
Davide Pizzoli (Race Department ATK#25) crashed out of the shortened rerun, with DNFs also recorded by Stefan Hill (Profile Racing), Luke Stapleford (Profile Racing) and Kyle Smith (GEMAR Team Lorini)
Defending champion Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) was absent due to a pre-season hand injury which means he will miss the opening two rounds of the 2017 championship, the Turkish rider looking to come back in style early in April at MotorLand Aragon in Round 3.
Before then the WorldSSP riders will be back in action at the second round of the season, the Motul Thai Round, over the 10th-12th March weekend.
P1. Roberto Rolfo – Team Factory Vamag “It was fantastic to win here in Phillip Island and for the first time in Supersport, I am really happy. The work from the team was unbelievable all weekend and over the winter, I love this bike and last year I had many problems. To start the new season this way is one of the best things that can happen in my case.”
