Random post but it always annoyed me when people called Walter weak or a p*ssy for getting scared during the Shadelight part of Fable 3. Do people not understand he has PTSD surrounding caves and the dark?
Guess what?! The Crawler represents BOTH of those and it’s talking to him. Y’all really think he’s weak for freaking out during a trigger?
Also for those who say it didn’t break the Hero. Y’all. The Hero of Brightwall is the player character. Of course it isn’t.

Thinking about the character bios from Fable 3 strategy guide,,,
The fact that Jasper doesn't view the HoBW as his employer but as his own child just squeezes my heart. Logan is their legal guardian but Jasper and Walter have been beside them since they were children.
After the death of the old ruler and Logan had to deal with running a kingdom. He couldn't be as present in his younger sibling's life anymore because he wasn't just their brother he was their king.
So, it was up to Jasper. He would wake them up in the morning, dress them, tutor them and Walter could train them in combat.
Walter is described in game (though possesed by the Crawler) to be the HoBW's father figure. Jasper views them as his child.
That's why betraying Logan was so easy for the both of them. Being branded a traitors was nothing to them if it meant protecting their child. I think when Logan had his guards drag them and Elliot/Elise to throne room their minds were completely made up. Even if the HoBW wasn't a hero or even if they didn't want to take the throne, they were going to take the HoBW away.
It didn't matter if Logan was their legal guardian, the second he made the castle unsafe for their child they were going to be gone.

I could totally see the HoBW calling Ben Finn Benjamina to be funny after the Reaver quest.
Slowly, everyone else starts joining in. Even Reaver, when he visits the castle. (Reaver had a restraining order, he definitely knew where his stuff went) He's a turd, but he's always funny.
Ben doesn't even know what's going on, he just knows that his name isn't Benjamina and at first he was annoyed, then confused, and then just too scared to ask.
Eventually, after making jokes about him loving Reaver for a solid few weeks, Page tells him whats going on.
Then he commits to the bit.
He starts talking about Reaver in a mocking, high pitched voice, each time they call him Benjamina.
Eventually, he kills the fun for everyone else, including Reaver and the HoBW. But he's convinced its funny now that he knows what's going on, and occasionally continues the bit to attempt to make his friends laugh, to the disdain of literally all of them.
One day, he makes the mistake of making the joke in Bowerstone and Benjamina hears it. She's then completely convinced that he also loves Reaver and starts trying to talk to him about him, very obsessively.
Page and Walter walk off and leave Ben to talk to her, refusing go fish him out of the awkward conversation.
He never makes the joke again.

With the way Walter talks about Sparrow, how much he admired loved them and how just in awe he was of them. With how sparrows fly after the gun fire during his funeral. Signifying his and Sparrows unwavering bond...
You'd never know he never shows up in Fable 2 lmao. Like not once. Never mentioned. He didn't even EXIST back then.

“This is why we can’t have nice things.” for Sparrow & Walter (bros being bros)
50 Dialogue Prompts
“This is why we can’t have nice things, Walter.”
Walter looked at Sparrow, at the giggling two-year-old Prince Logan, at the flour covering everything, and at Sparrow again.
Sparrow for his part was doing an admirable job at keeping a straight face. However they had been for years at this point, and Walter could pinpoint each little twitch of Sparrow’s lips.
Walter sighed, pinched the bridge of his nose, and couldn’t suppress his chuckles. This set Sparrow off, laughing so hard tears ran down his face.
Sure, they’ll get hell from the queen later, but it was good to relax.

Of course the Old Hero King was a good man, ultimately anyway. But the unfortunate part of being a Good Man, is that no one knows your darkest parts, so no one really knows or loves you. A running list of the sucky things Sparrow has done:
Convinced multiple people that he loved them, only to have sex with them.
Slept with various people's husbands and wives, sometimes in their own houses.
Cheated on Alex throughout their entire marriage.
When he first became king, had a three year long affair with Reaver, and overlooked some of Reaver's more objectively evil actions throughout that time.
Started an affair with Sir Walter Beck while Alex is pregnant with Luke (hobw)
Was secretly happy when Alex died during childbirth
Speaking of children, though he never, EVER, said anything, Logan was his favorite son.
On the night he died, he promised Luke he'd talk to him in the morning, but Sparrow knew he was going to die that night.

Can we talk about how Ben Finn gets bullied rent free by Walter Beck almost everytime they interact? I decided to draw something accurate.
[For legal reasons thats a joke. Whole post is a joke]

Sleeping Beauty (1971)
My rating: 4/10
Erstaunlich langatmig für die kurze Laufzeit.
Surprisingly long-winded given the short runtime.

Ben Finn literally watched two of his father figures die within a year, unable to do anything to stop it.
He just had to stand and watch.
