what the gang has for Transportation in my modern au

hiccup has a motorcycle he built himself basically from the ground up and he completed it his senior year of high school. he showed up to school riding it with the parking pass to go to the student lot and taped it to the handle bars. painted the same color as toothless. very much built for Speed. side pouch for toothless to sit in. it honestly breaks down a lot and he has to always fix it lmao

astrid owns a car that's got good gas mileage. i think it'd be a toyota corolla. it's silver and is covered with stickers on the back with varying messages ranging from the gym she goes to's logo to "if you can read this get off my ass" type shit. stormfly loves sticking her head out the window as astrid drives and if she's with astrid, she gets the front seat no questions.

fishlegs owns a volkswagen beetle. bright green. stickers all over the back of it with varying messages ranging from stuff about saving the planet, having a gronckle on board, and a bunch of stickers stuck on by the rest of the gang as jokes and otherwise. you immediately know it's his car. everyone always plays punch buggie when they see his car despite hiccup's insistence to knock it off because it doesn't count when they see it 24/7. meatlug has a specific seat just for her in the front :) baby on board!!

snotlout owns a Harley Davidson motorcycle with the fucking spread handlebars and everything. probably has flames painted on the side of it bc he's like that. has a saddlebag on both sides. hookfang will sit in the saddlebag and when he grows bigger (hee :)) snotlout will eventually get a sidecar that hookfang sits in :)

ruffnut drives a an old chevy silvarado pick-up truck. it's got a lot of miles on it but it runs very well. not a huge truck but it is good when they have sizeable loads to move lol. the back is also covered in stickers of varying messages but her favorite is one of those stupid ones with calvin from calvin and hobbes pissing on a logo of some random sports team she doesn't give a shit about. it just makes her laugh. the seats are torn at the seams because of 1. how old it is and 2. barf and belch like to Shred.

tuffnut also drives the old silverado but he also has a bicycle he likes to use. he loves using it!! it's bright blue with cool ass stickers all over it. he sometimes has ribbons coming out of the handlebars for pizazz. he just loves having the wind in his hair!! very serious about bicycle user safety stuff!! he knows all the hand signals!! the gang think he's weird for it but he'll always get whereever they're going first and they do not understand how (bikes = driving through small areas off road :)) he wears a special backpack that barf and belch sit in!!!

Demoman: he loves antique cars, they're his guilty pleasure. he loves going to old car shows and checking them all out. things like old buggies from the early 1900s, to anything that's just considered outdated in terms of what's popular, those are the kinds of vehicles he likes

Heavy: he isn't picky, not in the slightest. as long as he can fit inside of it and it works, then that's good enough for him. that essentially limits him only to big trucks rather than cars, but that's fine

Engineer: pick-up trucks. he has no other preference beyond that, he just wants something with a truck bed that he can load things into for transports. he doesn't care about getting whatever's new on the market, as long as it still runs then that's good enough for him

Medic: he stole a wedding catering van, he really doesn't care or have a preference. as long as they're keys in it and it can make for a good getaway, that's good enough for him. he's technically not legally allowed to drive anyway

Sniper: any sort of big, beefy truck that does off-roading. he hates small cars because he needs the leg room, and will only tolerate being inside one if he absolutely has to. he can never justify spending a lot of money on luxury purchases because he's always known the simple life, but that won't stop him from drooling over the truck in the lot he just spotted that he can see himself driving deep in the woods in

Spy: sports cars. ones that go really, really fast. he enjoys flying down the road like he's trying to escape the scene of a crime (and sometimes he might be!) and he prefers doing it in style. the more expensive and the more "fuck you I have money" vibes it gives off, the better

So, how many of you have played that car game usually called Slug Bug or Punch Bug/Buggy, and what were the rules? Would esp. like to know if anyone outside North America played this.

Here's the version I knew growing up:

If you see a classic Volkswagen Beetle on the road (let's say a red one), you punch the person next to you on the arm (obvs not too hard if it's the driver) and say out loud "Slug bug red!" then "No rebounds!" which meant that the other person couldn't hit you back for that same car and would hafta wait until another Beetle came along.

There's something about this really cool and you know what it is it's on a Volkswagen chassis now the other Volkswagens are not considered to be that old or run down or simple it kind of like sporty and the engines are faster and his son is correct and Sunday for real he's thinking you know the Volkswagens already kind of sporty and you can change your little goes fast into a Porsche and we can make a kit for that and someone should and his son wants to and he says he wants you to work with me on this and he says that's great his first car you got it from the carnival so if you have something you want to incorporate it's kind of smiling and since I know what it is he had a special horn that made a weird noise and supercars do that and yeah there's a secret. I did notice that the seats are different they're a little too high up but it makes a big difference. The paint job makes a difference it's not even a supercar color the tires and rims a little bit odd but the rims are much cooler and you can see if you change the body style a little it would work and that's what we want to do we want to do it because it's awesome and the concept is awesome but the car is going to be different than we use so we're going to post that

The dune buggy epitomized the California lifestyle, and as the concept was so simple and so inviting, it spread quickly. The beach buggy appeared in several movies, including Elvis Presley films, and the 1968 The Thomas Crown Affair, which contains a lengthy beach driving scene in which Steve McQueen drives a buggy with Faye Dunaway at his side. The beach buggy drives very well indeed and sounds fantastic when on song. Sitting proudly on chrome wheels shod with good tyres all round the beach buggy is also fitted with the very powerful 1584cc engine, this example is a real one off and looks fantastic!

🟣1964 Meyers Manx Series I & 2022 Meyers Manx 2.0🟢 The Volkswagen Beetle-based beach buggy from the 1960s will be reborn as an electric buggy in the 2020s. The prototype will be presented at Monterey Car Week, with the first customer evaluation vehicles delivered in 2023 and full series production beginning in 2024, 60 years after the first Meyers Manx. The new generation is styled Meyers Manx CEO Freeman Thomas, better known as designer of vehicles like the original Audi TT and VW’s New Beetle. The new buggy has two rear-mounted electric motors that send up to 202hp to the rear wheels.
