“Born 28 February 1874 in Limours, Louise Lavrut studied under Jules Lefebvre and Tony Robert-Fleury. She featured at the Salon des Artistes Français, of which she was an associate member from 1901. She received an honourable mention in 1898, medals in 1901 and 1925, the Prix Marie Bashkirtseff in 1901, the Prix Henner in 1924; and was made a Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur in 1925.” (Dictionary of Artists)
