it was funny to venus, at first. barely having been in new york for a week, she'd yet to truly see any "superheroes" at work. nor did she ever even really believe in the stories she'd seen online. no, to her, they were make believe, fairytales made up by people too far away to see what really happened. well, until the Monday of her second week in the big apple.
she'd been on patrol that morning, all alone despite being a rookie when she heard a woman's screams and pleas for help, shouting what sounded like "dog", "man", and "thief."
the police car pulled to a stop, as fast as it could and venus jumped out, whacking her head against the top of the car door and ultimately taking a slightly longer time racing to the sounds. once she arrived, her eyes went wide in shock as she stared at someone handing the woman her watch back.
"who are you?" venus asked, placing a hand on her hip as she glared at the oddly dressed person, noting anything she could about them other than their clothes ㅡ in case they happened to get away from her.
she felt the woman's eyes on her, and then the other person's and when she turned to the woman, she almost seemed shocked that venus didn't know who this person was.

This is a sideblog, and I follow back from my main @grimmusings. Please direct IMs there, since it's easier for me to keep all my messages on one blog. It's also easier to start interactions with me there, where I regularly post open starters and meme prompts. For a full list of rules, see my main. Honesty hour questions will largely be answered IC and treated as anonymous unless signed by a muse.
In general, I follow an MCU timeline with Steve and mix in comics connections/plots as needed, unless specified in an AU verse. All details vary based on verse, and I'm happy to write him into AUs and fandom crossovers. However, I do not include Endgame/Old!Steve in any of my interpretations unless it's a fix-it verse. Regardless of verse, I pretty much always include Steve's Remender comics backstory of an abusive, alcoholic father, but I default on his MCU history with Bucky and transformation into Captain America.

This is by no means a comprehensive list, and I can roll with most muses as far as basic interactions. I'm happy to ship Steve with other Marvel characters and OCs/fandom crossovers based on chemistry, but unless they're on my OTP list, they need plotting and interaction first. There is never any pressure to ship with me, even if they're on my list.

alt!postblip: A post-Endgame canon-divergent MCU verse where Steve passes the shield on to Sam and stays in the current timeline like a character who didn’t just undo 3+ movies of development. He’s there to help Bucky and Sam re-adjust to the world post-blip and learn the ropes on being Cap.
616: A mix of 616 and headcanons, typically written for comics muses who don't acknowledge things like the MCU Civil War or Thanos. It may reference other comics events, like the time Steve spent in Kobik's mindscape with Red Skull controlling his body.
multiverse!madness: Various comics universes collide, whether Marvel/DC/etc. have always existed on the same Earth, or other-dimension shenanigans are at work. Duplicate friendly!

alt!firstavenger: An MCU AU where Stephanie “Stevie” Rogers poses as a man to join the army after she’s laughed out of the enlistment office. Erskine decides to give her a chance anyway. Who knows? There are already so many big men fighting this war. Maybe what they need now is a woman. (fem!steve / fc: kat mcnamara)
alt!tfatws: An MCU AU where Steve returns to the past in an attempt to alter the timeline to keep Bucky from Hydra and Natasha from the Red Room. Instead, he’s captured by the Time Variance Authority and held for four months, until he conspires with Loki to break out. He returns to his own timeline the night of Sam’s Captain America speech.
castaway: An MCU/616 mashup where the events of Castaway in Dimension Z happen two and a half years into the Blip. Steve is abducted to Dimension Z, a twisted sci-fi dimension ruled by Arnim Zola and his mutates. Steve rescues an infant from Zola's lab and raises him as his son, Ian, for ten years on the run, and often ends up in other universes using the multidimensional elevator. Duplicate friendly!
dad!verse: Any MCU/616 mashup AU where Steve has canon or OC children. While I'm happy to accept children from any muse, please do not assume Steve is still with the other parent in the present timeline without prior discussion (e.g., I do not ship him with Peggy or Sharon and will not write him in a current ship with them, although they may have been together in the past).
dark!winterverse: An MCU AU where Steve and Bucky both fall from the train and are captured and brainwashed as Winter Soldiers. They work together for decades until Steve starts to regain his memories. (winter!soldier)
earth-3490: A blip comics universe where Steve is married to Natasha Stark (Iron Woman). When he discovers the Winter Soldier file, he takes it to his wife, she has time to adjust to the idea, and the Avengers’ Civil War never happens.

what if: For Steve Rogers, the fight with Red Skull for the cube and the the Battle of New York are only two weeks apart. Follows the divergent timeline explored in the Loki TV series, including their time at the TVA and afterwards as The One Who Remains. (Note that, to enable writing post Loki S2E6, Loki learns how to project duplicates of himself within timelines and across space.)

event ; odinson + foster wedding
You're cordially invited to the royal wedding of His Royal Highness, Prince Thor Odinson and Dr. Jane Foster.
this event will begin wednesday, july 12th. you're welcome to reference the wedding and ceremony in your current threads. event information under the cut
this event will be broken up into two parts. we'll post on the main when each part begins. part one of the event will begin next wednesday, july 12th.

PART ONE ; THE WEDDING. the night before the wedding, guests will meet at the tower and be transported to asgard by way of the bifrost. they'll stay the night in the guest rooms at the palace and are welcome to tour the city. the ceremony will take place the next morning in front of the waterfall just past the palace. a reception will follow in the palace ballroom immediately following the ceremony.
when we begin part one, you're welcome to start at either the night before, wedding, or reception. just indicate appropriately when you tag your open starters. the starter tag for part one is 394.royalwedding.
PART TWO ; THE PARTY + HYDRA ATTACK. the evening after the wedding, guests will be transported back to the tower for the midgardian portion of the reception party. as the night comes to a close, despite the extra security measures taken, hydra agents launch a surprise attack, outnumbering the avengers present.
when we move into part two, you can either make party threads prior to the attack or during. like before, just indicate that in your tags. the tag for part two is still 394.royal wedding. when we move into part two, we'll ask you to no longer make opens for the wedding ceremony.
CHARACTER SCENARIOS FOR PART TWO
part two is when we'll have our character specific scenarios. since we extended the deadline and didn't receive additional characters for the pairings, we won't be accepting any more since we have these written. if your character's not in a pairing or group, they can still participate. they just won't have a specific plot scenario.
you can reach out to your partner/group to plot out the scenario. feel free to add or change whatever you want to. this is just a something to get you started.
GROUP ONE - PIETRO AND DICKIE ; character a and character a quickly realize the gravity of the situation and agree to protect the innocent guests and do whatever it takes to stop hydra's attack. they must find a way to neutralize the threat and ensure the safety of everyone present.
GROUP TWO - JOHNNY AND DIANA ; at some point during the attack, a hydra agent attempts to capture one/both party goers. they must evade their attempted capturers and protect the guests caught in the crossfire.
GROUP THREE - RAFAEL AND KLARA ; a hydra agent attempts to take one of these characters or an npc affiliated with one of the characters. the other, or both characters if an npc, have to work to ensure the other's safety, or get them back if they are taken.
GROUP FOUR - JESSICA AND VAL ; for a reason, that's up to you, these characters get separated from the rest of the party before or after the attack breaks out. they have to make the decision to go back inside, towards the fight, and help, or remain outside and away from danger.
GROUP FIVE - BRUCE B., TONY, AND LOKI ; one of the groomsmen, notices a suspicious figure lurking around the reception hall and finds out the person is a hydra agent. the groomsman must find a way to alert the others, without causing panic among the guests. they're too late, or found out, and get caught in the crossfire as chaos breaks out in the reception hall.
GROUP SIX - BRUCE W. AND PEGGY ; as the evening progresses, one, or both, characters begin noticing strange behaviors from some of the wedding guests. they realize that hydra has infiltrated the wedding party and discreetly begin trying to get guests out as quietly and quickly as possible, but it becomes evident that they're too late. they have to figure out a way to ensure the safety of as many guests as they can.
GROUP SEVEN - PEPPER AND STEVE ; one of these characters, or an npc near these characters, has been injured in the scuffle. their primary focus shifts to making sure that person is taken to safety before it gets worse.
GROUP EIGHT - CLINT AND WANDA ; it's discovered that one of the wedding gifts, am asgardian valuable artifact with immense power, has gone missing. suspicion falls on a group of seemingly innocent guests who are actually hydra agents in disguise. they have to work to find the artifact while staying out of the line of fire.
GROUP NINE - EDDIE AND FRIGGA ; these characters work together to guide guests to safety using magic as their guide around secret passages and security systems in the tower to outsmart hydra.
GROUP TEN - THOR AND JANE ; the wedding couple become the focus of attention for the agents, especially since the bride is carrying two asgardian heirs.
if one of your characters has a significant injury, just shoot the main a message so we'll be aware of it. we'll probably cap it if we get too many injuries because we don't want everyone hurt.

This is a sideblog, and I follow back from my main @grimmusings. Please direct IMs there, since it's easier for me to keep all my messages on one blog. It's also easier to start interactions with me there, where I regularly post open starters and meme prompts. For a full list of rules, see my main. Honesty hour questions will largely be answered IC and treated as anonymous unless signed by a muse.
All details vary based on verse, but in general I play Natasha based on an MCU timeline with 616 plots/connections added as needed. Specifically, I almost always include her history with Bucky in the Red Room, whether that relationship was romantic or platonic. I also re-write her Endgame death as either Tony/Bruce's snap brought her back, or Steve traded the soul stone to bring her back. If you prefer one of her faceclaims over the other, feel free to request!

This is by no means a comprehensive list, and I can roll with most muses as far as basic interactions. I'm happy to ship Nat with other Marvel characters and OCs/fandom crossovers based on chemistry, but unless they're on my OTP list, they need plotting and interaction first. While this is a no-powers verse, she excels at reading people thanks to the abuse from her wealthy, crime connected father, and her primary goal is shielding her younger sister, Yelena, from the worst of him.
dark!winterverse: An MCU AU where Steve and Bucky both fall from the train and are captured and brainwashed as Winter Soldiers. They work together for decades until Steve starts to regain his memories, and he seeks out a Widow he once trained for help in freeing them.
super!mcu: A mash-up of the MCU and Supernatural and universes, where The Winchesters manage to stop the first apocalypse shortly before Thanos snaps away half the universe. Natasha discovers some of the freed Widows have been possessed by demons and joins the hunters.
