He doesn't allow himself this kind of indulgence very often - or at least he didn't until Ophelia came along. Now the idea of lazing away the morning hours beside her ( - or, indeed, in any other position with her - ) is too enticing for him to know how to resist. Comfort is something the President won't permit himself - but maybe he can still have this.

With a half-awake groan, the god turns beneath the covers, shuffling closer to his lover and burying as close into her warmth as he can, reaching out an arm to pull her body flush to his. The groan immediately transforms into a satisfied sigh. He could drift back off to sleep now, if that's what he wants, and it's impossible to deny the idea is tempting, but Ophelia's softness calls to him, and he is powerless to resist.

Lips meet the pale flesh of the girl's shoulder, teasingly dragging a line across skin to her neck and upwards, ending by her ear as Loki settles his head beside hers. "What would you say to a day of celebration?"

Eyes narrow at the two figures ( – whether they’re variants of himself or someone else, Loki forgets, and frankly doesn’t care – ) kneeling before his makeshift throne. Between them is a large sack, a little soggy and thoroughly patched, that thrashes suspiciously. 

“A gift.” The President’s voice is deliberately void (pun not intended) of emotion. It never hurts to let supplicants wallow in worry for a moment longer.

“Yes, president. You declared it a day of celebration, so I brought you a gift.” The one on the left speaks, his eyes carefully, and wisely, fixed on the god’s feet.

A careless wave of an elegant hand and Loki sits back on his throne. “Fine, let’s see it.” He’s curious of course, but it wouldn’t do to let anyone else see such emotions in case they took advantage.

The men stay kneeling – again, wisely – but twist to untie the sack, firmly holding down its squirming occupant until the rope is released and they can tip it out onto the floor. The figure is a flushed mess of horrid TVA jumpsuit and glorious red hair, and Loki is immediately transfixed by the sight of her. Well this is something new. Leaning forward on his throne, a smile slowly begins to curl at the god’s lips. “My, my, what a pretty present you’ve brought me.”

They understand, to an extent. Loki loves to read, and hates to be interrupted; many a servant or family member has been on the receiving end of a harsh reprimand for committing that particular sin. And yet, they love their wife just that little bit more – enough to risk her ire by trying to steal the book from her hands.

Except apparently they are predictable, or entirely unsubtle, or maybe she just got lucky, because Sigyn had managed to hold her book (and body) out the way swiftly enough to evade the trickster, resulting in them sprawled across the floor at her feet. Hence their teasing threat.

They twist to get their hands underneath them, intending to rise and re-engage in the tussle for their wife’s attention, but her words draw them to a halt. The god narrows their eyes, calculating. Consequences. They don’t sound like the enjoyable ones. A sigh. Accepting defeat, the god flings themselves onto the couch, careful not to jostle Sigyn, and silently worms their way closer until they can rest their head on her lap without preventing her from reading. Another sigh, the sound tinged with just a touch of drama.
