AiO Thought of the Week
Age is truly just a foreign concept in Odyssey and there are no true answers but here are my headcannons:
Katrina is older than Eugene from somewhere to a few months upto a year and a half.
Eugene was 17-18 when he was hired at Whit’s End but is widely assumed to be older because of his voice and academic level but he 100% looked his age.
The writers said on the official pod Jay's age is a dependent variable. So I think when Jay is hanging out with Zoey, Buddy, or any of the other middle schoolers he is 13/14. With the rare exception, Jay is otherwise 17 however his appearance is still skued toward the 13/14.(this might be because of his height but that's a different headcannon) These numbers only apply to album 58 and beyond before that he is younger and is more consistent in age.
Jason is in his 40s.
Connie still hasn't quite reached her 30s but is almost there. I know she's still earning her degree but if Eugene is any indication 10yrs is not an unreasonable amount of time for a degree from CCCC. Plus I think she's swapped majors like 3 times.
Eugene and Katrina are very early 30s
Whit despite being born in 1925/26 is an ageless being of perpetual Eldersness and is therefore older than anyone in a given room and yet, still possess the ability to out-manuver the authorities both physically and mentally
Jack and Wilson are also ageless beings but not on Whit's level.
Tom lived just out of town and so aged normally, I guess. I have no evidence but I feel like he was born in 1931.
Bernard despite being one of the original "old men that make up Connie’s friend group" is good decade or so younger than Tom and Whit, still way older than Connie though.

fold.
Tumblr media
pairing: minho x reader genre/warnings: established relationship, fluff; cursing, unedited lol word count: 0.9k note: idek what this is lol i just wrote this to get the brain wiggles out 🤣
as always, i’d appreciate any thoughts or comments you may have, and please drop a like and/or reblog if you enjoy reading ♡
navigation › masterlist › ko-fi
Tumblr media
“You’re banishing me to the couch because of a little prank?”
“Because it wasn’t funny! God, you’re such an asshole.”
“It was!” Fucking hell, Minho is still laughing. “Babe, you should’ve seen your face.”
You hold up your big fluffy pillow to hit your boyfriend over the head, though he dodges it easily. "Piss off to the couch!"
“For real?” he asks, scanning your face with his big eyes, his brows raising annoyingly. “Sure you wanna sleep alone tonight? You're serious?”
“As a fucking heart attack,” you huff angrily, wildly kicking your feet at his legs under the sheets. “Out!”
“You’re so cute. You know you always fold, right?” he coos, eyes crinkling with mirth as he raises his hands, seemingly trying to hold your cheeks in his palms. “At least give me a kiss before I go.”
It only sharpens your dagger glare, and before Minho knows what’s even happening, he’s yeeted from the bed to the floor, rubbing the sore spot on his butt that you just kicked and sent him flying off the mattress.
“Ow! Fine, I’m leaving. See you in a couple hours."
Tumblr media
Thirty minutes later, your phone lights up with a message, Minho’s screen flashing on your screen like an omen. You frown when you reach for the device on your nightstand, the furrow between your brows only deepening as you read the words Attachment: 2 Images.
Your finger hovers over the notification, clearly curious, but you know your boyfriend too well to be that naive.
There’s a 76% chance that he just sent you something scary that he got from the internet, which you think would be a stupid thing to do, considering that you’re “mad” at him.
But then again, he’s already on the couch. Maybe he’s got nothing left to lose.
Damn that man.
You shake your fist in the direction of the door, even though he can’t see you, before you decide to just get it over with and pop open his messages.
Hmm.
It’s nothing. No jumpscares, no scary photos of ghosts or ghouls or anything of the likes.
It’s only a couple selfies of him lying on the couch this very second, just a few footsteps away from your bedroom door, hugging his pillow with a content look on his face.
The first thing you do is save the photos to your designated Minho album, because even though you’re “mad” at him, he still looks cute with his stupid Snow filters and bunny smile, his gleaming eyes and-
Oh.
You see what this is.
Ass.
He’s banished, but he’s still pushing it, trying to show you just how much he seems to be loving it out there.
You huff out yet another annoyed breath. What on earth are you going to do with him? That’s a question you ask yourself every day.
In the end, you only reply to him with the middle finger emoji before you put your phone on the nightstand again.
You turn away from the device and snuggle further into your bed, willing sleep to come find you but you have to admit that it’s hard. It’s not because you’re scared or anything, you’re just used to sleeping next to someone.
No, not just anyone.
Only Minho.
You’re so used to sleeping next to Minho that now the bed feels infinitely empty without his warmth next to you, all over you.
Rationally, you know he’s right there in the living room - you can still hear him every time he paddles to the kitchen to get some water - and you’re clearly not strong enough to leave him on the couch for more than one night.
Actually, he has never been banished for a full night. Hell, his timeout on the couch has always ended much earlier than you’d like. Your boyfriend was right. You always fold. Pathetically quickly too.
You toss and turn for another while before you hear his unabashed giggles from the living room, light and relaxed, over the echoes of dramatic music. He must have put on a scary movie.
With your eyes closed, you listen to the sounds of make-believe doors slamming, floorboards creaking, a blood-curdling scream here and there. You’re still as wide awake as you were earlier, when Minho popped up from underneath the sheets, wearing a fucking Chucky mask just as you were getting into bed.
The idea of having his arms around you gets more appealing by the minute. You know you would be out like a light within seconds if he was holding you.
With both palms gripping the pillow beneath your head, you let out one last irritated exhale. Fuck it. This was a losing game from the start and you were all too aware of it.
You paddle out of your bedroom on light footsteps and into the enemy’s territory. When you’re in front of the couch, Minho calmly pauses the movie on the TV before he peers up at you with innocent eyes.
You hold out a hand wordlessly. This isn’t your first rodeo, and it sure as hell won’t be your last, as much as it pains you to admit it.
“Told you,” he titters, checking his phone for the time before he takes your hand in his. “You lasted 58 minutes. So close. Almost made it a full hour.”
You roll your eyes, though your body instantly relaxes now that you’re touching him in some way. He turns off the TV, grabs his phone and pillow, then waddles the both of you back into your cozy bedroom.
Your friends were right when they said they'd never seen anyone fold so quickly.

I am distressingly obsessed with McCartney’s 1982 album Tug of War now.
I’m just curious if others have thoughts on this album? I can’t find much mainstream thought on it, due to the “McCartney writes about nothing” phenomenon as well as the “McCartney says nothing means much” phenomenon. Drives me crazy. This album obviously means A LOT.
But one things that seems to obfuscate it from casual perspective is that a lot of it was prepped during the early 1980s, after Coming Up becomes a hit and after McCartney II is received. And…after McCartney gets word that Lennon is now in the studio, recording for the first time.
Message received?
To me, this is the decision point in whether this McLennon back and forth code exists or not.
Synchronicity is a pretty powerful brain phenomenon, and it’s pretty stretchin’ to make the case for cherry picked Wing’s singles after the live ‘76 album (which is so ripe with every example you might pick, cmon, but AFTER). I CAN make post ‘76 cases…but they’re weaker. But suddenly. McCartney II comes out and uses every code phrase you might have thought.
McCartney hears Lennon has responded and started recording an album. And he records half the demos for Tug of War. Somehow the mainstream press if they touch it at all records this as one upping. What??
McCartney after Lennon’s death can’t finish the album until 1982. 1981 being the only year he has ever not published music.
The transitions of these demos, what he keeps, what morphs entirely…are so powerful. The most famous song Here Today is widely known. The mainstream accepts that one song, but what about what follows?? To me, the most emotionally raw part of the album directly follows the famous song. I can’t think of anything that is as powerful as the three song set Ballroom Dancing/The Pound is Falling/Wanderlust. Well, except the opening song Tug of War. I simply don’t understand why it has been so overlooked as a masterpiece.
The acknowledged song Here Today is more famous, because it is one of the very few McCartney had explicitly said is about Lennon. It is less natural for McCartney because it’s so direct. It demonstrates a lot that McCartney tried to be so direct for once, but his stronger emotional expression in his own form can arguably be seen throughout this album.

America’s Sweetest Girl - 1976
0:56 ——•———————— 3:24
↺       <<          ll          >>     ⋮≡
In the early summer of ‘76, Y/N rose to the top. With ‘Groupie Love’ rising in the charts and hitting number one just a few weeks after releasing, anyone and everyone knew who Y/N was.
Eddie: “She was everywhere in the late 70s. Magazines, runways, radio shows, late night talk shows, you name it. People even had a nickname for her…it was America’s something.”
Warren: “Oh that nickname? Yea of course I remember it. It was America’s…america’s….”
Y/N: “America’s Sweetest Girl.”
“I was America’s Sweetest Girl.”
Billy: “Oh god. America’s Sweetest Girl.” he laughs “She hated that nickname”
Y/N: “Don’t get me wrong, I was grateful for everything that Groupie Love brought me. But America’s Sweetest Girl?”
“And it’s not like absolutely despised being America’s Sweetest Girl, sure I didn’t love it, but I wanted fame. So I did what I needed to do. What the people want, the people get.”
“My 1st album was full of songs that were soft sounding. Teddy said that I shouldn’t try to strain my voice since its natural register was so soft. He was definitely trying to take me down a different road than the band. I didn’t know why at the time, maybe to protect me. I mean I was 19 and hanging out with some of the world’s biggest rockstars.”
Warren: “Everyone knew she was 19 at the time. No one had a problem with it. It wasn’t rare to find a young girl in the kind of scene we were in.”
“Besides, I think I speak for everyone when I say that they all treated her like she was their little sister. Except Billy. And she was starting to spend a lot of time with Billy.”
Karen: “After Groupie Love, Billy and y/n definitely got closer… Now I never like to interfere with people’s lives and decisions, but I did speak with y/n about Billy.”
“I didn’t want her to go down the same path that Billy was going down. But you try telling a 19 year old that the guy she’s starting to develop feelings for is an asshole who’s an addict.”
“But if you ask me, she was denying the feelings she was gaining for Billy.”
‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ - - ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵
You were in Billy’s room, just laying on his bed while he fiddled with his guitar. You’d been spending a lot of time there. Not just in Billy’s room, but throughout the entire house the band lived in. You had been having breakfast with them, having dinner with them, going to parties with them and coming back to the house with them. Your stuff was lying around the house.
You had been sleeping in Billy’s bed at night. After parties you’d stumble to his room and crash on his bed. A few minutes would pass and he would do the same. Some nights he would even cuddle with you. You never thought of it as anything more than two friends cuddling. It didn’t feel different from when you would lay on Warren’s chest while you guys would lay on the couch. It was innocent.
At least you thought it was innocent.
Clearly some people didn’t think the same. You found that out a few nights ago when Karen came and spoke to you.
“y/n, can I talk to you?” you hear Karen say from behind the door. “Yeah sure, come in” you say, putting your guitar down.
Karen sits on the edge of the bed, she stares into your eyes for a moment before speaking. “So…what’s going on with you and Billy?”
“What do you mean? There isn’t anything going on between me and Billy”
“y/n…don’t lie to me. You’ve been spending a lot of time with him.” she laughs “I mean, you’re sleeping in his bed at night with him!”
“It’s nothing like that Karen, we’re just friends” you say, your tone coming off more defensive than intended.
Karen sighs, “Just…listen to me y/n.” she says in a soft tone as she takes your hands into hers. “Be careful around Billy, he’s…he’s not someone you want to start being with. I don’t want to see you get hurt because of something he does.”
You avoid her gaze, how could she think you would have feelings for Billy?
“Yea. Yea okay thanks, I’ll be careful.”
You’d think about that conversation whenever you were with Billy. You were thinking about it now.
Staring at the wall, you thought carefully about what Karen said. To be careful around Billy. To not start anything with Billy. You couldn’t even imagine starting anything with Billy. This was someone that would be with a different girl every night. Someone that did lines off groupie’s bodies. You couldn’t start anything with him, even if you wanted to.
“Something on your mind?” you hear Billy say.
You quickly snap out of your daze and look at him. “Nothing, just…thinking”
“Thinking of what?”
‘You.’ “Nothing much…just about my parents”
Lie. Well, not a full lie. You had been thinking of your parents lately. You wondered if they had heard your song, if maybe they were finally proud of something you’d done. At least, you hoped your dad was finally proud of you.
“Your parents huh?” Billy says as he puts his guitar down. “Warren told us a bit about your parents. Your mom sounds nice…but your dad…”
Billy gets up and walks towards you, he settles down next to you on the bed. “Your dad…isn’t the best is he?”
You shake your head. “Nope…not really, but from what Warren and Graham told me…your dad wasn’t the best either.”
Billy laughs. “Yea you could say that…but I think having a dad that hits is much worser than having a dad that just up and leaves.”
You roll your eyes playfully. “It’s not a contest Billy”
You hear Billy chuckle, but then hear him go quiet. Looking up at him you see that he has a somewhat serious look on his face.
“Really though, why are you thinking about your parents?”
He scoots closer to you and puts a hand on your knee. “You know you can tell me…anything right?”
You gaze into his eyes for a moment. He was so close to you. Closing your eyes and taking a deep breath in. “I was just- just thinking if they had heard the song yet. And I haven’t heard from them in a while…so yea”
Billy looks at you with a sad, sympathetic look on his face.
“Y’know…I know it doesn’t mean much coming from me, but I’m sure that your mom is proud of you.” he says, softly rubbing your knee in a comforting way. “And I bet your dad is regretting everything he’s done to you.”
‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ - - ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵
Y/N: “…My relationship with my parents…has never been the best.”
“I grew up with an abusive father, and a mother who was a recovering alcoholic.”
“My mom was never as bad as my dad. Sure she had her moments. We fought, but it never went as far as yelling at each other for something stupid.”
“But my dad…my dad was bad.”
“I went to bed almost every night crying, bruises on my arms and legs. I hated my life. I always dreamt of making it big. Of running away from my life and becoming this…superstar. When I got the opportunity to become one, I took it.”
“If anyone was in the position I was in, they would also do anything to get out of it. Just like me.”
“Billy was like me. He dreamed of making it big. He dreamed of selling out stadiums. He dreamed of a better life. He did what he needed to do. What needed to be done. I felt a connection to him. And I guess that’s what got me so attached to him.”
Billy: “I wrote ‘Daddy Issues’ for y/n. At the time, I wanted to be the person that took away all the pain she had.”
“But I didn’t know how.”
‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ - - ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵
“Hey y/n, I got something I wanna show you.”
You were in Billy’s room again, lying in the floor you were trying to figure out the details for your album.
“Hm? Oh alright” you say as you put away your notebook.
Billy sat down next to you, he took out a tape recorder and then he looked at you.
“Go ahead, press play.”
He takes your hand and guides it to the recorder. Feeling his calloused hands on yours felt electric. Sparks flew between the two of you from this simple touch. He then made your finger press play so the song could start.
You closed your eyes and slowly bopped your head to the beat.
It wasn’t like any song he’d written before. It was full of emotions that he had never shown in any of the songs he had written.
It was beautiful.
Opening your eyes you looked at him. You didn’t say anything. You didn’t need to say anything. The expression on your face was enough.
You stared at him for what seemed like hours. He was now dangerously close to your face. This was it. You two were about to kiss. But right as you were close enough, you heard someone call your name.
“Y/N! Teddy’s on the phone! He says it’s important!” you hear Eddie call from downstairs.
You sigh. Slowly you move away from Billy. You get up and head for the door. Looking back once, you give Billy a small smile as you walk out the door.
‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ - - ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵
July 4th, 1976. The official release date of Y/N’s first studio album.
Y/N: “My first album was called Paradise. It had 10 tracks. National Anthem, Million Dollar Man, Radio, Cola, Lolita, Brooklyn Baby, West Coast, Off To The Races, Summertime Sadness and Video Games”
Billy: “My personal favorite was National Anthem”
Eddie: “I hated National Anthem.”
Warren: “Cola was definitely my favorite”
Daisy: “Lolita. Easy winner”
Karen: “My favorite track? Probably West Coast”
Graham: “Um…I would say my favorite track was Radio. Actually, all of them were. It was a good first album.”
Y/N: “Since it came out on the 4th of July, the aesthetic of the album revolved around…what’s it called again?”
“Oh right, vintage americana.” she laughs. “Oh god…Teddy really had me playing into the America’s Sweetest Girl role.”
“Well…everyone did really. The band even threw a release/4th of July party at the same time.”
“I think it was at that party that I tried drugs for the first time.”
“Let me be more specific, I tried two drugs. Coke and Billy Dunne.”
‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ - - ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵
There wasn’t a cloud in the sky. It was a perfect summer day.
You were helping out with the set up for tonight’s party. It wasn’t gonna be anything too big. At least that’s what you were told.
While you were helping Karen put up streamers you didn’t even notice Warren and Graham rolling in four huge kegs.
“You guys didn’t have to do all of this for my album’s release…you know I would’ve been fine with something small” you say to Karen as she places a small basket of flowers on the table.
“Oh I know that, and that’s what I tried telling the boys, but you know how they are”
“After all, they would do anything for America’s Sweetest Girl” she snickers, nudging your arm playfully.
You scrunch your nose and laugh. “Oh god…don’t even with that name”
Karen laughs, “Oh come on! It’s a cute nickname, very fitting for you”
“Shut up” you say as you roll your eyes.
‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ - - ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵
Y/N: “I remember that night very vaguely.”
“The first part of the night was more clearer than the second part.”
“The party was small at first. Just me, the band, and a few of our close friends.”
“Somehow other people started hearing about the party.”
“I think it was a little close to midnight that more and more people started pouring in. And then of course that’s when Warren pulled out the kegs.”
“So now we had at least over 100 people in our backyard and house. I didn’t mind at first. I was actually having fun.”
“But then the drugs came out.”
‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ - - ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵
It was late, you didn’t know how late it was but it was late. Music was blaring throughout the house and the backyard, people were chugging down cups of beer and taking shots.
You were stumbling around with your fourth cup of beer. Or was it the fifth? Sixth? Maybe the seventh? You didn’t know, you just knew that it tasted pretty good.
You passed by Karen a few minutes ago. She had asked you if you were okay. You giggled and said you were fine as you stumbled away.
Now you were in a room where Billy was with a bunch of his friends.
“Hey there’s America’s Sweetheart!” he exclaims as he walks over to you. He seems drunk, but not ridiculously drunk.
“Come sit down babydoll, the fun was just about to get started.” he puts his hands on your shoulders and guides you to a couch.
“What do you mean?”
You watch as someone pulls out a small bag of white powder. They start pouring out a small amount of it and distributing into lines.
“Oh Billy, I really don’t think I should-“
“Oh come on babydoll, don’t be a buzzkill.” he says as he rolls a hundred dollar bill into a tube.
Billy’s the first one to do a line. Then the two others. Billy looks at you, he nudges your hand with his own. He passes you the makeshift tube.
“Go on babydoll, it won’t hurt.”
You take the tube in your hand, looking down at it for a moment and then at Billy. Reluctantly, you place it towards the white powder.
Billy and the other two people laugh and holler as you do a line.
You take a breath in afterwards, it feels like there’s a rush going to your head.
“That’s my girl! See it wasn’t that bad now was it?” Billy laughs.
Your heart races. You don’t know if it’s from the coke or from the fact that Billy just called you ‘my girl’ but you try to brush it off.
You laugh weakly. “No…no it wasn’t that bad”
Billy smirks and laughs. The other two people pour out more of the powder, making 6 more lines.
You do two more, Billy does four more.
By your third line, you have a huge rush through your body.
The other two people have gone, it’s just you and Billy in the room, the music from outside is muffled. You’re both lying on the floor, both of you laughing and giggling.
“How is America’s Sweetest Girl feeling right now?”
“Like I’m flying”
Billy laughs. “You know, everyone’s gonna love your album”
You laugh weakly. “Everyone…everyone but me” you say as you blow your tongue.
Billy sits up. “Everyone but you?”
You laugh and groan putting your hands over your head. “Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good album. It’s just…it’s…it’s not…it’s not rock and roll enough”
Billy laughs, “Not rock and roll enough?”
“I know. I know it’s stupid, but all the songs on that album are something that everyone is telling me to be. Not who I am, or who I want to be”
“Then write what you want. Make the music you want.”
“Hard to do that while I’m ‘America’s Sweetest Girl’.”
“Then just, tweak that persona. Make her more you.”Billy scoots close to you. “And for what it’s worth. I like the whole America’s Sweetest Girl thing. And I like that one song on your album even more, National Anthem.”
You gaze into his eyes. “Thanks”
There’s silence for a moment, the only thing filling the room is the music playing from outside.
“You wanna get out of here and do something fun?” Billy says, smirking.
‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ - - ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵
Y/N: “We ditched the party and went to this local carnival. I was surprised it was still open. It was well over 2am.”
“And let me tell you, being high and at a carnival was definitely an experience. The bright lights, the loud music, the food, it was all so…uplifting.”
“Anyways, we walked around for a bit, went on a few rides, Billy won me a stuffed bear.”
“And then we went on the ferris wheel.”
‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ - - ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵
The carnival was something out of this world. At least that’s how it was feeling to you and Billy.
You were both on the ferris wheel when it suddenly came to a stop. Both of you were giggling as the cart rocked back and forth.
“You know, I’ve been keeping a secret from you”
Billy raises his eyebrows and smirks. “Oh really?” he says as he stands up, causing the cart to rock more.
“Oh my god! Billy sit down you’ll get us killed!” you squeal.
He plops down next to you and puts an arm around your shoulders. “No I won’t…” he says, twirling a piece of your hair around his finger. “Now tell me that secret”
You felt blood rush to your face, your heart was pounding.
“I wrote National Anthem about you.”
Billy didn’t respond. No, instead he took your chin in his hand and brought you closer to his face.
“I know, there’s a reason it’s my favorite.” he says smugly before kissing you.
You felt your stomach do flips as he kissed you. And to add to the moment, fireworks were exploding in the background.
As you both pulled away you smile and laugh. You gaze into eachother’s eyes for what seems like an eternity.
It seemed like nothing in the world existed. It was only you and Billy.
You wished it would be like that forever.
But not all wishes come true.

Six marvelous months with Park Jimin
January 2023
The year started with the announcement that Jimin had been appointed as the Global Brand Ambassador for Christian Dior (17/01). The occasion was marked with six Awesome magazine covers and the Dior Fashion Show in Paris (20/01). The fashion establishment was blown away by the response to Jimin's participation in the show.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The same month Jimin released Vibe (13/01) , a dream collaboration with his long time musical hero Taeyang from Big Bang.
Tumblr media
youtube
This was both artists first solo hit on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 76.
February 2023
Jimin did a live on 03/02 in which he confirmed that his solo music, although a little delayed, was likely to come out in March 2023.
Tumblr media
On 21/02, Big Hit announced that FACE would be released on 24/03/23. The next day they published the countdown schedule and on the 23/02 the tracklist for the album.
Tumblr media
March 2023
On 02/03, Jimin was named Ambassador for Tiffany & Co which he wore spectacularly in his photoshoot for Vogue that month.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On 06/03, Soundcloud super track Promise along with Jimin's yuletide gift to ARMY, Christmas Love were added to Jimin's Spotify profile. The era of streaming Jimin's profile had begun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From then on, everything started speeding towards the release of FACE. The Hardware and Software images came out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Set Me Free Pt 2 exploded into the world on 17/03. Nobody saw it coming and it caused a furore on social media. It was a clear statement of intent. I am here to stay and I am here to slay. It debuted at No.30 on the Billboard Hot 100.
youtube
Tumblr media
FACE was released on 24/03 along with the Like Crazy MV. Speaking for myself Like Crazy blew me away. Jimin set out to make a statement with that song and I will always be proud to be the fan of such an honest and brave artist.
youtube
With the release of FACE we also discovered that hidden on the record was a very special song, Letter, in which Jungkook sings background vocals.
youtube
That last week of March saw Jimin appeared on the Jimmy Fallon Show with a live performance of Like Crazy.
Tumblr media
In the next 9 days, he gave comeback performances on MCountdown, Music Bank and Inkiagayo. He came live to thank ARMY for turning up to his shows. He won awards. He appeared on the radio, on the entertainment shows Beat Coin, Ddeun Ddeun and Pixid. He even did fan meetings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
April 2023
On 01/04 Jimin gave an unforgettable acoustic rendition of Like Crazy live on Lee Mujin Service April Fools Edition.
youtube
And then on 03/04, Jimin made history. The first South Korean to ever make No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the first Asian Artist to do so in 60 years. He came live in the early hours of the morning, clearly shellshocked but brimming over with gratitude to everyone who had supported the album and the song.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then on 05/04 the promotions were over and Jimin once again expressed his happiness and thanks to ARMY for supporting FACE.
Tumblr media
It had been a whirlwind and I think we, as well as Jimin, were caught off guard when the promotions ended so quickly. We had a beautiful album to savour but we wanted to continue to savour it with Jimin.
The focus returned to fashion when Jimin flew to New York at the end of April to attend the Tiffany & Co Landmark opening (28/04).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He attended Suga's concert in Newark on the 29/04 and headed back to South Korea later that week. But why didn't he fly straight back after the concert we wondered?

May 2023
It all soon became clear, he had been filming the MV for Angel Pt 1 from the Fast X movie. The song came out on the 19/05 and debuted at No. 65 on the Billboard Hot 100. This was Jimin's fourth chart entry in five months.
Tumblr media
youtube
At the end of the month, Jimin made a short trip to London and we are still speculating on what that was all about. He posted photos of his trip to HP World as soon as he got back to South Korea on 27/05.
Tumblr media
June 2023
Festa 2023 soaked Seoul in purple for nearly three weeks at the beginning of June in celebration of BTS's ten years since debut. Jimin gifted fans with a live performance of Dear.ARMY on 07/06 and....
youtube
,,,,,,on 13/06 BTS released this beautiful live version of Take Two with Jimin adding depth and colour to the song with his stunning vocals.
youtube
But there was still more to come, on 15/06 Jimin came live in high spirits and spent quality time with ARMY. It was the same day as the release of Angel Part 2.
Tumblr media
youtube
On the 27/06 Jimin's solo profile appeared on Billboard and serves as a permanent reminder of everything that has happened in the short space of 6 months. It has been a roller coaster ride and I am still hopeful that we will still get more music from Jimin before he has to enlist. I wanted to make this post so that no one forgets what he has achieved and the permanent mark he has made on the global music industry since he took his first steps towards a solo career.

I woke up at 5:30 this morning and checked my phone to see that Jimmy Buffett passed away during the night. The news was surprisingly gutting, given that he was 76 and I haven't seen him in concert in probably 20 years (though not for lack of trying.) But I still listen to him all the time.
His was literally the music of my childhood. The first time I got in trouble at school was when my preschool teacher called my parents and told them I was singing about how I wanted "a smart woman in a real short skirt," and that was not appropriate for Lutheran preschool. Every vacation, Jimmy Buffett was playing on the tape deck or the CD player, a new album if there was one, old hits if there were not. When I got married, my father and I danced to Little Miss Magic, a song Jimmy wrote for his daughter around my age. Now I play his music for my own kid, who is old enough to be starting his own music collection (on vinyl!) and will sometimes pick up a Buffett album for me. I wish I'd had the chance to take him to a concert like my folks took me. They were a hell of a fun time.
His fame was a strange thing, he only had a handful of actual hits and they were somehow never his best songs, just the ones everybody knows. But he wrote so much good music that lives in the hearts and minds of his fans, and I am going to miss him just being in the world.
If you have a minute today, here's one of my favorite songs of his, and fitting for the day. It's worth a listen.

The Robert Plant post that's been on my mind since the jimmy post.
EDIT: tumblr fucked up and deleted half the post AND put it without tags. Now complete
It's easier to write about psychology I relate to. To dive into something so clear, so easy to point out the faults of. Writing Jimmy's story was easy. What I'm writing now is less than.
This is how Led Zeppelin impacted Robert Plant. As usual, feel free to add, and the rest is under the cut. This is gonna be sad (and long)
Anyone can spot how, now, Robert reflects on his Zeppelin days with disdain. He doesn't perform nor relate to the majority of his Zeppelin songs anymore. Of course, just as the rest of the band, he's sick of the press asking for another tour. Another reunion. Another reminder of a dark spot in who we see as the golden god.
What happened?
What *didn't* happen?? At first, Zeppelin started out and grazed the sun. And the sun had been spun for years, so to speak. Popularity, sex, riches, women, freedom, *music*. Who wouldn't want that? Of course, there had been the lyrics written by a guy in his early 20s, the many meanings eluding and warping to the ears of the listener. There was criticism over the different lifestyles, tear gassing, police raids, there was Jimmy and Lori. Even recounted by Jimmy Page (Through the On This Day feature), they'd perform in Memphis, only to be stopped by a man with a gun when they'd wanted to perform an encore.
Still, each life had its faults. Robert would write Sick Again's lyrics with the groupees in mind, with the underlying sadness for what Lori had gone through.
Come 1975, and the wax starts to melt. Jimmy starts on heroin at some point during their tours that year. After Plant's family flies out, he and Robert vacation in Morocco. After, in Greece, Robert is driving with his family, and they get into an accident: Almost fatal on Maureen, a broken ankle + elbow on Robert, and bruises on the kids. Back in England, they'd receive care... Only for Plant to have to leave England due to his tax exile. He'd spend the time in a wheelchair, writing and developing Presence. Achilles Last Stand, about his time in Morocco with Jimmy, previously called The Wheelchair Song. Tea For One, about the loneliness and despair on tour, of being away from his family. For Your Life is about a friend of Robert's who had been heavy in drugs. Quote from faroutmagazine, it's reflected that Presence was "a cry from the depths"/"a cry of survival"
Tumblr media
Presence is often shat on for what's perceived as a lackluster, boring, rehashed album. While I see where these statements come from, Presence happens to be my favorite album.
In 76, Presence is released, and in the same year, Zeppelin's concert film The Song Remains The Same, to make up for the canceled tours in pursuit of Plant's recovery.
1977 comes around. American tour. Everyone's unsure if the band will perform the same after such a hiatus, but it works out. Mostly. Page, as in my other post, is emotionally unavailable, to say the least, in his own struggles. The band in total is still imbibing in heavy drug usage (JPJ, however, more discreet with his use and not to be found in embarrassing situations), but the tour breaks records, a heavy hitting comeback.
Icarus falls, the zeppelin crashes.
Come summer, the third leg just there, and Robert gets the call: Karac Plant, his son, passed while he was away. The cause had been an unknown stomach illness, and he couldn't have even been there for his son. Gut wrenching. Karac was 5.
Tour canceled, and the last time Zeppelin played North America, Plant flies back home with Bonham and Richard Cole at his side. Jimmy and Peter Grant remain in America, while Jones takes time for vacation. During his time of immense grief, Plant heavily considered quitting music all together to be a teacher, as he just wanted to be with his family. While everyone else was off flitting about, Robert says John Bonham was the only one really at his side for the entire process. Out of the members of Zeppelin, Bonzo was the only one attending Karac's funeral at Plant's side. The darkest, most heartbreaking moment of your life, and your friends aren't around (Of course Bonham was, of course he was around. They were best friends). Jones had said, later, with what Elvis dying, all he knew was that he (Robert) should have his space. Lacking etiquette and not knowing consolation shouldn't mean you (in context, Jones and Page) lack the ability to be there for your friend, though.
Robert never fully got over Karac's death. I wouldn't blame him. He wrote multiple songs over the years honoring his son (All My Love, Blue Train, I Believe).
In addition, he would have a talk with himself, in which he would quit drugs. Quote below.
Tumblr media
After everything of 1977, the future of Led Zeppelin became uncertain. Just about silence for a long time, while Plant went through the grief process.  About 1977, he says: “[it was] the year it all stopped for me. Nothing could make it all right again and nothing ever will.”
"During the absolute darkest times of my life when I lost my boy and my family was in disarray, it was Bonzo who came to me."
Finally, Page and Bonham convince Plant to stay in music, to stay with Zeppelin, when Jimmy told him to take a break until he's ready, and that the band is nothing without Robert.
Zeppelin returns in 1979, though the light has dimmed. Jimmy and Bonham lose themselves further. If you take a look, In Through The Out Door is largely about Robert's feelings once more. When recording and writing, it's often said that the band had split in two: Sober (Plant and JPJ) and not sober (Page, Bonham) . While Plant and Jones wrote and composed, the other two would fail to show up on time, sometimes even at all. As previously mentioned, All My Love and I'm Gonna Crawl are tributes to Karac. In The Evening is about the struggles and stress faced even through his stardom and wealth.
Carouselambra tells the story of Zeppelin's fall. From kings, gods, to rust. In particular, it details the loneliness and betrayal felt by Plant after his band mates failed to be there for him.
"Where was your word, where did you go?
Where was your helping, where was your bow?
Dull is the armour, cold is the day
Hard was the journey, dark was the way, way
I heard the word, I couldn't stay, oh
I couldn't stand it another day, another day"
In particular, "Where was your word, where did you go?" struck with me.
The rest of the album is filled with lighter, story centered, and explorational songs. Plant knew that while Zeppelin was there, it was nearing its end. Come Knebworth, a great show, but Robert is different, you see it in his eyes. The naivety, the innocence, the belief that he could have it all, has faded.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And nobody else is the same at knebworth, either.
Fast forward a year and John Bonham dies, god rest his soul. Led Zeppelin breaks up. Robert loses his best friend and son in the span of 3 years.
Icarus burns. The zeppelin crashes.
Robert distances himself from the rock scene, exchanging most of his heavy vocals to explore different genres of music. He shies away from Zeppelin, but the public is calling for more. An encore. A reunion. Each one goes wrong, between being too stoned and ill timed, the improper rehearsals, the matter not being taken seriously.
Page and Plant starts and Robert finds himself back in his old shoes, polished and new. He enjoyed it this time around, digging up unreleased material and playing it "Unledded."
The masses want more. The golden god, playing the same old tune and having to visit the same old wounds of life. They want the sun to shine like it had been touched again, but the sun shined differently back then. The public dooms him to the same old song he's been fighting to escape, but the song doesn't remain the same, the song has changed.
He's still beautiful. Still Robert Plant. But he's not the same as he was, he's not the bright, young boy performing Stairway to the crowd for the first time, or 50 playing as Page and Plant. He's past that.
December 10th, 2007, O2 Arena, London. He says good evening. One last show. Jason Bonham on drums and backing vocals. John Paul Jones, keyboard and bass guitar. Jimmy Page, electric guitar. And himself, Robert Plant. A legendary show, honored to Ahmet Ertegun.
After, Jones and Jimmy want to continue with a reunion. Robert doesn't, won't. He has a solo career. He's fought to free himself from the golden boy he was. This isn't him anymore. These aren't his songs.
He grows disconnected from his songs of Zeppelin, a lifetime ago. He grows to hate stairway, until it's 2012 at the Kennedy Honors Center. Heart performs Stairway to Heaven with a choir and Jason Bonham. Robert tears up, seeing his best friends son out there. In that moment, he grows to appreciate Stairway: Only if it's sung by a younger voice, though.
The media wants more. The people want more. They will always want more, it's never enough, but he can't sing a song that's lost its meaning to him.
Robert Plant is a man of many times. The golden god we know of now is eternally different from who he was. I will always love him through all walks of life, each and every stage.

Driver’s Seat
Pairing: Dominique Luca x fem!reader
Summary: At a classic car show, you meet the only gentleman in attendance and bond over a mutual love for cars.
Warnings: fluff! 1.2k+ words
A/N: This is completely self-indulgent (it’s about me and my car) but I figured I could share it anyway. Happy daydreaming about Luca!😊
Tumblr media
“Nice car.”
You bristle, prepared for some variant of nicer driver or bet you look good in it.
“What year? ‘76 or ‘77?”
At the continued discussion of the car, you turn. You’ve seen Dom Luca around car shows before, but haven’t had the chance or a reason to talk to him yet. His kind smile helps you relax and you offer a smile in return. Being a woman at a car show is like travelling back in time to when the cars were new; you’re treated differently here than anywhere else.
“1977,” you answer. “Good eye. You’re Dom Luca, right? You brought a gorgeous 1956 Buick Special a few months ago.”
“Yeah, yeah, that’s me. Friends just call me Luca. I’m stuck with a ‘68 Charger this month. But your car is a beauty.”
“Thanks! I still have a ton of work to do before she’s finished, but I’m proud of everything I’ve managed to do.”
“You should be. Sorry, I didn’t ask your name.”
You smile as you extend your hand and say your name. Luca’s handshake is firm, and you appreciate the respect he shows you. It’s refreshing, and you’re glad your mental image of him from past shows holds up. He’s a gentlemen in a world where there aren’t many left.
“Any chance you have before pictures? I haven’t gotten my hands on a Nova yet but I know good work when I see it. Do it all yourself?”
You pull your phone from your pocket and navigate to your photo albums as you nod. “I did as much as I could. Had a lot of amazing people to help too.”
As you turn your phone to scroll through the before pictures, Luca moves to stand closer. His shoulder presses against yours, and you freeze momentarily before swiping to the next picture.
“Is that you?” Luca asks excitedly.
The picture of you smiling in the driver’s seat after the first test drive is one of your favorites. It was such a special moment, and having it immortalized in a photo is priceless. Luca’s attention, however, makes you a bit shy and you nod before swiping away quickly.
“There’s no shame in being excited. First drives are a special kind of rush,” he assures. “It’s a good picture, too.”
“Thank you,” you whisper.
“Everything original?”
You appreciate the change of subject, happier to focus on the car rather than its owner.
“Yeah, it is. Straight 6, automatic transmission, even the color is the same.”
“Now that takes real talent. Anyone can cover a classic in aftermarket parts, but original? That’s impressive.”
As you turn to face Luca, you realize how close he’s standing. Face-to-face, eye-to-eye, lip-to-lip… you know you should step back but you don’t want to. Luca smiles like he feels the same before his eyes drop to your phone.
“Care for another picture?” he asks. “It’s your first entry into a car show right?”
Someone whistles behind you and shatters the moment. Luca looks over your shoulder as he steps back. You can tell he wants to say something, but you shake your head. It’s always like this, you communicate with a shrug.
“Can I see the Charger you’re stuck with? Though I’d love to get my hands on a ‘69, so I don’t see it as the unfortunate situation you do,” you say with a smile.
Luca’s shoulders drop as he relaxes and steps to the side. He leads you down the row and around a booth at the end. The black Charger is beautiful, and your eyes widen as you walk the length of it.
“Luca,” you murmur. “It’s perfect.”
Luca presses his lips together to hide his smile. He said his friends call him Luca, and it sounds right coming from your lips. After thanking you, Luca pops the trunk open and points to a nearly invisible metallic L welded to the side.
“For Luca?” you ask, once again standing directly at Luca’s side.
“My brother and I work on these cars together. We, uh, didn’t talk for a while, so now that we’re close again, we like putting something in every car.”
“That’s amazing. I- do you have one more minute to spare?”
“If you compliment the car again, maybe I’ll give you two.”
“The body work on this is impeccable. Better than original. Like always,” you compliment.
“Lead the way.”
You unlock the passenger door and open the glovebox of your car. A laminated piece of paper and a photo are in your hands, and you pass them to Luca.
“1987,” he reads. “You have an old title registration for this car? Do you know how rare that is? Was it in the car?”
“Look at the picture,” you answer.
“I take it back. The first drive photo isn’t your best.”
You chuckle at the idea that the photo he’s holding is your best. In it, you’re less than 10 years old, sitting in the driver’s seat like you belong, and it’s proof that you’ve loved this car for nearly your entire life.
“Took me a while to get started on it, but it was worth the wait,” you muse. “Most good things are.”
“So, when you came to shows before, were you looking for inspiration or people to hire?” Luca asks as he passes the papers back.
With the memories of your family’s history with the car secure in the glovebox, you return your attention to Luca.
“You’re different than I thought you’d be,” you say. His face drops, and you add, “I knew you’d be a gentleman, but I didn’t think you’d let me talk to your ear off about my car. And yours.”
“You’d be surprised how long I’d listen to you.”
You playfully roll your eyes before someone yells Luca’s name.
“What are you planning to do next?” Luca asks, pointing to your car.
“Dom!” the man repeats, louder.
“Do you need to go?” you ask.
“My brother,” Luca says. “He can wait. Tell me what’s next. Finish this one and call it good, or are you going to be around with more cars?”
“I’d love to restore another car. Actually, a truck. An old boxy one that needs the love, or a Harvester.”
“1950s Harvester is my dream project,” Luca agrees.
“Finding one that isn’t in a scrap heap seems…”
“Impossible,” you and Luca say together.
“If you ever get your hands on one, send me lots of pictures?” you request as Luca’s brother approaches.
“What if I ask for your help instead?” Luca suggests.
“Why me?”
Luca smiles like he knows something you don’t. He introduces you to his brother, Terry, and shakes your hand again before leaving to talk to a salesman. A paper is transferred to your palm during the shake, and when he’s gone, you look at it. Luca’s phone number accompanies a short message, and your smile grows until your cheeks hurt.
Talk my ear off before the next show? I’d love to learn more about the girl in the car.
When he had time to write this, you don’t know. But you do know your answer. You text Luca that you’d love that, and he turns to wink at you before asking the men around him if anyone knows of a Harvester still on the market.

The sultry 1969 hit single Je T’aime … Moi Non Plus was a four-and-a-half-minute distillation of languid Gallic cool, in which a Frenchman, his voice coarsened by Gitanes, is heard billing and cooing with an ecstatically sighing young Englishwoman over the swirling motif of a baroque organ. That man was Serge Gainsbourg; his companion was Jane Birkin, the actor and singer, who has died aged 76. Though Birkin worked with some of the world’s finest film-makers, including Jacques Rivette and Agnès Varda, she knew that Je T’aime … would be remembered above everything else she did. “When I die, that’ll be the tune they play, as I go out feet first,” she said.
Birkin was 21 when she and Gainsbourg met while starring together in the film Slogan (1969). He was 40, and had previously recorded Je T’aime … as a duet with Brigitte Bardot, only for the actor to withdraw permission for it to be released. Birkin had already starred in a 1965 musical, Passion Flower Hotel, scored by John Barry, whom she married that year at the age of 19 and from whom she was divorced in 1968; he was the father of Kate, the first of Birkin’s three daughters. But it was on the duet with Gainsbourg, she said, that for the first time “somebody thought I had a pretty voice”.
She sang her part an octave higher than Bardot. “It gave it a choirboy side that [Gainsbourg] liked a lot,” she said. Rumor's that the vocal track was recorded under the covers during a moment of intimacy were untrue (the couple were standing at separate microphones in a studio in central London) though they did nothing to harm the mythology surrounding a song that was later condemned by the Vatican. “I just remember thinking it was all terribly funny,” she said.
Among the countries that refused to give the song airplay was Britain, where it became the first banned single to reach the top of the charts, as well as the first non-English-language No 1. It was also the lead track on the 1969 album Jane Birkin/Serge Gainsbourg.
Birkin’s life remained inextricably linked to his. They were together for 11 years, and had a daughter, Charlotte, who became a successful singer and actor. Even after they separated in 1980, he continued to write for her, and she went on performing his songs for the rest of her life.
Far from being an adjunct to Gainsbourg’s legend, she possessed her own style, intelligence and attitude. Her wistful beauty was rendered unorthodox by an eager, gap-toothed smile. Her voice was as bewitching as her face: though she lived in France from 1969 onwards, and spoke French fluently, she never shed her breathy, crisply English accent.
She was born in London to Judy Campbell, an actor who had been a muse to Noël Coward, and David Birkin, who was a lieutenant commander in the Royal Navy and a spy during the second world war. His duties included taking British spies across the Channel to France and bringing back stranded airmen and escaped prisoners of war.
Jane was educated at Upper Chine school on the Isle of Wight. At 17 she starred with Ralph Richardson in Graham Greene’s play Carving a Statue; Greene himself had a hand in casting her. Her screen acting career began with a walk-on part in The Knack … and How to Get It (1965) and a controversial nude scene in Michelangelo Antonioni’s Blow-Up, which she agreed to because Barry had told her she wouldn’t dare.
She had a small role in the Warren Beatty caper Kaleidoscope (also 1966), played a model called Penny Lane in the psychedelic curiosity Wonderwall (1968) and starred with Romy Schneider and Alain Delon in the psychological thriller La Piscine (1969). She got on famously with Bardot when they starred together in Don Juan, or If Don Juan Were a Woman (1973). Gainsbourg directed her in a 1976 film named after their hit song; he cast her as a boyish woman who attracts the attentions of a gay man, played by the Warhol regular Joe Dallesandro.
Birkin was tremendous fun in two star-studded Agatha Christie thrillers, Death on the Nile (1978) and Evil Under the Sun (1982). In the cryptic Love on the Ground (1984), Rivette cast her and Geraldine Chaplin as actors drawn into a playwright’s mysterious world. She appeared in two films, The Pirate (1984) and Comedy! (1987), made by her then partner, Jacques Doillon, with whom she had her third daughter, Lou, also a singer and actor. Jean-Luc Godard directed her in Keep Your Right Up (also 1987), while for Varda she played a woman besotted with a 14-year-old boy in Kung-Fu Master! (1988); the film co-starred Charlotte and featured Lou, and was inspired by an idea by Birkin herself.
In the same year, Varda made her the subject of Jane B For Agnès V, in which the actor performed a variety of specially scripted scenes (in one, she was a Stan Laurel type, in another a cockney mother) interspersed with musings on her life. She received the documentary treatment once again when her daughter directed Jane By Charlotte (2021).
Her two most impressive performances came in Bertrand Tavernier’s These Foolish Things, aka Daddy Nostalgie (1990), in which she was moving as a woman trying to repair her relationship with her dying father (Dirk Bogarde); and La Belle Noiseuse (1991), Rivette’s spellbinding four-hour study of a painter (Michel Piccoli) and his new muse (Emmanuelle Béart), in which Birkin played the artist’s wife and former model, who must deal with the indignity of having her younger self literally painted over.
Later films included Alain Resnais’s musical On Connaît la Chanson (1997) and the Merchant-Ivory coming-of-age story A Soldier’s Daughter Never Cries (1998).
In 2002 Birkin was diagnosed with leukaemia, but by 2006 she had made her directorial debut with the autobiographical family drama Boxes, which she also wrote and starred in, along with Chaplin, Piccoli, John Hurt and her daughter Lou. She appeared in Rivette’s final film, Around a Small Mountain (2009), played herself in Hong Sang-soo’s Nobody’s Daughter Haewon, and was reunited with Tavernier for his comedy The French Minister (also 2013).
Her look had been widely applauded in the 1960s, and seemed never to go out of date. In the 80s Hermès introduced a large and exorbitantly priced leather bag, named “the Birkin” in her honour. Fashion journalists in recent years could still be heard celebrating the “Jane Birkin top”, referring to the white lace dress made famous by her in the late 60s. “Real life was what I was best at,” she told Vogue magazine in 2016. “I didn’t have confidence in movie cameras or on stage. But I did have confidence in what I wanted in real life. If I wanted to be barefoot and wear a mackintosh, I would do it. I didn’t give a hoot.”
It was at 40 that she finally discarded her youthful ingénue image and performed her first live concert: “I cut my hair off like a boy, I wore men’s clothes. I only wanted people to hear the music and words. It was fantastic. And it was so frightening. Serge was there and he kept lighting his cigarette lighter to make everybody put their lighters on.” That show was preserved on her 1987 album, Jane Birkin au Bataclan. She continued singing and recording into her old age; among her later albums is Birkin/Gainsbourg: Le Symphonique, from 2017, in which the couple’s songs received new orchestral arrangements.
In 2020 she published Munkey Diaries 1957-1982, containing diary entries addressed to her favourite cuddly toy from childhood, which she can be seen clutching on the cover of Gainsbourg’s 1971 album Histoire de Melody Nelson. She buried the toy with him after his death in 1991.
She is survived by Charlotte and Lou, and six grandchildren, and by her brother, Andrew, and sister, Linda. Kate, a photographer, died in 2013.
🔔 Jane Mallory Birkin, actor and singer, born 14 December 1946; died 16 July 2023

Latest Album: Solitude Songs In The Album: Keep Quiet, At Night, Things Stir, With Mal Intent, Interlude, Twilight Hour, Moonset, You Know Too Headcannons:
This band exists in the magickal world and are better known there! Their Tuneless music doesn't include Phono magick which often makes the sound feel 'lacking.' When Rams discovered this, xe reexperienced all their music 'properly' and will admit that it's much better on Phono than not. It feels complete.

Summary: Still underground, Buried Alive is a new band trying to gain a little following. Rams only heard of them through a friend of his who was friends with the band members. They only have four albums so Rams is starting with their first: BROKEN BONES.
Band Name: Buried ALIVE Members:
Ji-Woo Min Gang Deadweed Nkiruka Thorn
First Album: BROKEN BONES Songs In The Album: Mary's Strange Daughter, The Pastor's Sermon, My Witch Hunt, Sticks and Stones Headcannons:
They have a very ballad/tragic style. Each of the listed is songs is 9+ minutes long. Rams isn't sure how they feel about it yet but it's... not bad. It grows on them with each re-listen. The cover is homemade. They're trying their best, okay?

Summary: This band has the oldest members of all the bands Rams has listened to. The duo is 76 and 81 years old and their still going strong. Rams started listening sometime around sophomore year of high school.
Band Name: Sickening Sugar Members:
Immy (76) Mal (72) Nia (Deceased) Tyril (Deceased) Aerin (Deceased) Valax (Deceased)
Latest Album: Coffee + Tea Songs In The Album: Filter Me Out, Divide My Mix, Stir It In, No More Cream, Pieces of Crystal, Hot Bitter Drink, Choke and Choke Headcannons:
They're an old queer band though they were only moderately known in the 50s and 60s. That changed with the AIDs epidemic which claimed four of the six members lives leaving only Immy and Mal. Post-death, Sickening Sugar released a single (the last one to feature all members voices) titled 'What Do Mean? There's Still Six of Us'. It quickly gained traction and catapoulted the now duo into the centre of the LGBT movement throughout the late 80s and 90s. Their still heavily involved in activist work even if their heyday is a shiny memory. Yes, they are named after BOLAS characters because I think BOLAS the show is sort of like what Honor Amoung Thieves is to D&D. I headcannon that in-universe the BOLAS show pulled from a nerd culture of RPG games and Sickening Sugar named themselves after their favorite characters in those collaborative RPG games. It actually caused licensing issues while BOLAS was first coming out because two major characters couldn't be licensed since this band already held those licenses. The BOLAS legal team, Immy, and Mal worked out an agreement so Immy and Mal get royalties from each item. It's pretty good money considering the show's popularity.
Tumblr media
Summary: it's a very folk-rock song. Mainly blending religion with critical anti-capitalism themes. The members in mid-40s and are currently on a break-up tour. Rams is devasted about it, the band has been a major part of hir highschool career and none had seen the break-up coming!
Band Name: PrOvide Members:
Wally Crawford Josslyn Platt Lilac Winton Astra Jackman
Last Album: Old School Choir Songs In The Album: Hymn, Hum, Worship, Watch, Praise, Pray, Worship, Watch Headcannons:
Yes, there are two different songs named Worship in the same album. Fans call the second one 'Worship Again' to differentiate them. Rumors have it that they're breaking up over creative differences but Rams doesn't fully believe those rumors. Unlike other bands, they've have a rather flexible sound that should be able to accommodate the odd/diverging album here and there.

200 of my favorite albums that I swear by, from any genre - limited to one per artist. I always wanted to do this since the start of the decade and finally got around to it. doing my research data entry, listening to Stars's album No One Is Lost which was (and especially the titular, final song, was) my big Widowtracer music back when I was into Overwatch. And that is reminding me of how much what I liked about the Overwatch characters and lore was stuff that I made up - not even, necessarily, stuff the fandom made up (which was most of it - Overwatch lore was not good) but my own idiosynctratic preferences for ship dynamics.
At least I was into Reaper76 in the same way a lot of other people were, and Reaper/76/Ana the way a few of my other friends were. McHanzo and McGenji were hit-or-miss, McCree (back when he was McCree) & Pharah's sibling relationship prevalent but rarely a focus. But I never really found a lot that satisfied me about Widowmaker/Tracer, because I had such a specific view of what I wanted from them. One I made up because there really was not much there at all.
What I liked about the idea of them was Tracer moving fast staying bright in an attempt to outrun fear and fatalism and collapse by being aggressively optimistic; contrasted against Widowmaker who had accepted it all dully. Tracer desperate to prove that there was something left of Amelie in there, that she could be brought back. That she could be saved. That no one is lost. Proof that things could be okay in the wake of a shakeup in her world order that cast her adrift. That her world could make sense again.
Thinking about it, I'm continuously compelled by characters who are projecting their issues all over each other; especially in the manner of, I feel lost, hopeless, hurt, terrible, irredeemable. I don't believe I have a future, or can ever change, or have a place anymore, or atone for what I did, or can come back from this, or can be loved, or can be saved. But you're in a way worse mess than me, so I'm making it my project to save you, because if I can prove you can... that you can be better, that you can have a future, that you can belong, that you can atone, that you can be loved, that you can be saved... then maybe I can, too. I have to believe that, and that's why I believe in you when you've been written off and have written yourself off. And I'm going to keep reaching out.
And then I discovered Metal Gear Solid and it had a lot of the character dynamics I liked in my made-up headcanon Overwatch actually present in the text. I didn't have to make it up, it was actually there and intentionally and competently written. I was still kind of reading this dynamic into Snake and Meryl (still convinced they were projecting their issues about being loved and being abandoned all over each other in MGS1 and mistaking that for attraction) but a lot of what I liked about Reaper76 and McGenji and McHanzo and stuff was just... there.
And then I got into Wolf 359 where this redemption-by-proxy projection is just straight up textually what's happening between Eiffel and Hilbert. So: getting into fandoms for better written things with what I actually wanted in them is part of the solution here.
But also it was my Widowtracer experience that made me go, I am basically just making up my own character goals and interactions here. Why am I bothering to make it fanwork when it's basically an original story.
I never did put that anywhere. But women desperate to save each other, women desperate to prove they can be saved by saving each other, and women who have the nagging fear that they were wrong doing the evil version of this and trying to seek vindication and absolution through each other do crop up again and again in my imagination. Maybe I should pin that down sometime and give my headcanon Widowtracer the story they deserve.

In the spring of ‘76, a new face emerged on the music scene. With a unique, angelic voice, it didn’t take long for her song “supernatural” to blow up. And now, freshly off a plane from New York to L.A, she was ready to take a chance at stardom.
Karen: “Oh yea, we had all heard of her. She has a great voice, a great look, personality, she’s just a really good person.”
Eddie: “Hm? Oh, her…yea she was great. Talented singer, yea…”
Graham: “Warren said he had known her as a kid, no one believed him of course.”
Warren: “I’ve known her since forever. Our moms used to be really good friends. Met in college I think. But yea, really talented girl.”
Daisy: “Fucking amazing. Super talented, and just such a beautiful person to be around.”
Billy: “She’s great, talented, pretty. There really isn’t enough words to describe her. But she is…something.”
Graham: “We were working on the new album, and with Daisy as the new edition, things were going…semi-smoothly. Til the label said we should add a feature. Billy of course didn’t think we needed another edition, but everyone else as always went against what he thought. And Warren said he knew someone that would be perfect. After one phone call, he said we had our feature, and that she would be arriving in a few days…That next afternoon she walked into the studio…and I’m not going to lie…I thought Priscilla fucking Presley had walked into our studio.”
‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ - - ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵
It was a warm spring day. The skies were clear and the sun shined brightly. You stood outside of the studio, your future in the industry relied on this feature. At least that’s what you told yourself.
Taking a deep breath, smoothing out your dress, you walked in. Looking around for a second you took in the new environment. Then you saw the band. Daisy Jones and The Six. Shaking off your nerves you walked over to them. Right as you were about to say something. The guitarist looked at you. “You lost sweetheart?” he said as he put his guitar down.
“I don’t think I am. This is the Six’s studio right?” you say looking around again. “I’m (y/n), Warren called me for-“
“(y/n)!” Warren called out, walking over to you and giving you a hug. “I didn’t think you’d be here so soon.” laughing as he ruffles your hair. “Well when you called it sounded urgent so I hopped on the first flight out.” you say, nudging his arm away.
Warren rolls his eyes and laughs. “Well let me introduce you to everybody, this is Graham, that’s Karen, Eddie, Daisy’s over there, and Billy…is somewhere around here.” You smile at everyone. “It’s so nice to meet you all, I can’t wait to work with you guys.”
It all felt right to you. This feature is what was going to bring you to fame.
“You’re the girl that wrote ‘supernatural’, right?” you hear Karen say. “Yes, yes I did” you say proudly. “It’s a great song, you’ve got a great voice” she says with a smile.
You felt happy. This. This is what you’ve wanted your whole life. To be known for your music. And right as you were about to thank her, a man in an all denim outfit walked into the room. It was clear he was hungover or something.
“Look who finally decided to show up.” you hear Eddie mumble under his breath. “Fuck you say Roundtree?” the man says as he glares at Eddie. Eddie scoffs and rolls his eyes, clearly not wanting to argue. “That’s what I thought.” the man says. Finally, he acknowledges your presence. He looks at you up and down, going from your white gogo boots to your eyes. You felt a weird feeling in your stomach. You couldn’t tell if it was butterflies or if it was something else, you felt drawn to him. But some little voice in your head was screaming that this was bound to go wrong.
“(y/n), this is Billy Dunne, Graham’s brother. Billy, this is (y/n)(l/n), our new feature.” Warren says as he lights a cigarette.
Billy looks you up and down again. “This is our new feature?” he says, skepticism filling his voice. “We’re writing a rock album, not pop.” He walks closer to you, the smell of alcohol, cigarettes, and cologne radiating off of him. Warren takes a drag of his cigarette. “Give her a chance, she has a great voice.”
Billy looked irritated, he already had to add Daisy as an official member, and now here you were. He rolls his eyes. “Fine whatever” he mutters under his breath.
Just like that, you were officially going to be a feature for their album. And now you were a part of the life of Billy fucking Dunne.
Finally the first chapter is up!! I hope u guys liked it, (ik it’s not the best but i’m going to get better trust🙏) took me a while to get it up because I just kept trying to figure out how to like set the stage but I figured this would be the best way. 100 non-verbal prompts @lordsecondsenju requested: 76 + reverse: Receiver is caught snooping in sender’s things bonus detail: modern verse
ㅤIt was as though the semi-open door had been planted there just for the sake of tempting him. Not that Itachi believed in things such as fate or destiny, being a big fan of free will and self-determination even at such young age, but some things were just too much of a coincidence. What were the odds that, having left movies night for a couple minutes to go to the bathroom, he would end up staring at all the possible wonders that lied beyond this door to Tobirama's bedroom? And, yes, he could [he should!] have turned around and keep minding his own business, return to the living room and find his place again in between Sasuke's cuddles and Madara's snuggles. And yet...
ㅤBlame it on the gifted mind, curiosity was ever too strong and, at times, it served as mean to less noble ends. Silent as a cat, Itachi entered the room only to be immediately amazed by what awaited him. The room, in itself, was nothing out of the ordinary - a bed, a desk, bedside tables, dresser, all that was expected; what stood out, however, was how much Tobirama had imprinted of his personality on the furniture and the space. There was a museum catalog on the desk beside the laptop, a book entitled Wildlife, Ecology & Conservation, a few albums... but what truly captivated Itachi's eye was the literal shiny: the row of gold medals he knew Tobirama had won in actual olympic competitions.
ㅤCareful to keep his hands to himself, because the last thing he needed was to accidentally break something, he nonetheless leaned as close as possible and stood on his tippy-toes to take a good look - and that was the moment, precisely, that the door was pushed open again. Nearly jumping out of his skin from the startle, Itachi turned around immediately to find the owner of the house staring back. ...Well, what now? Being the miniature adult polite child he was, there was only one way out: with a sheepish expression, to avert his gaze to the floor as he apologized.
«Sorry... I shouldn't be here. It was rude of me.»
