Space Cat!

My first piece of my new boy Astro!! I got him from Ott on Toyhouse last night and I love him sm already! I don't rlly have a whole lot in mind for him quite yet, mainly just that he lives in space and does Space Things. Whatever that might entail lmao

Once my semester is over on May 9th, I am def gonna be looking to do some art trades to get some stuff of him, so keep an eye out if ur interested in that hehe. He'll also be on Art Fight this year!

Surf's Up!

Okay I am like STUPID happy with how this came out!! Right, so I mentioned yesterday that my valentines drawing with Seabreeze awakened some kind newfound appreciation for her in my brain and this is what's come of that so far lmao

I used a banger of a pose reference here but it was super helpful as u can see lol. The background might be what I'm most happy with along with the pose! Lots of playing with brushes and opacity to make the wave and spray come out like it did and I LOVE it!!

A quick thing bc when I was working on my OC icons the other day, I found that u can very effectively color-pick a lesbian flag from Agouti's design and considering that's what she is, this feels like very pertinent information to me hehe

A Splash of Color!

TropiKitty Blast !! Happy Luau Day!!! April 15th is Luau's birthday, meaning as of today, I've had her for 3 years! In that time, she's become one of my absolute favorite characters to draw and get art of, since I absolutely ADORE her design <33 She's definitely my most vibrant and colorful OC design and I think that rlly helps her to stand out amongst my OC crowd haha.

She's also found herself among the prestigious Comfort OCs club of my characters that make me feel the most happy when I or other people draw them. (Other members of that club are Starburst, PB, Moxie, Rhazz and Eejanaika if anyone's taking notes aha)

But yeah, Luau is such a fav of mine, I'm kinda shocked that I don't draw her more often. Def gonna have to address that in the coming months hehe. Perhaps more art of her with Seabreeze :0? Come What May!

Happy Trans Day of Visibility to all in the trans community!! You guys are absolutely amazing and I wish nothing but the best for all of you!

For such a day, I wanted to draw Wilkołak, since he's my main trans OC! And also because I've been wanting to draw him again lately lol. But this is the sketch I said I was super happy about a bit ago and I LOVE how the final product came out! I also tweaked his design a little bit, making it a bit more spiky and making his hair go over the back of his head to better connect to his mane and again, I love the look of it. Every time I draw him, I get closer and closer to making him more punk lmao, we'll see how things go down the line

Firework Stars!

Long time since you guys saw this little guy huh? Actually long enough that I don't think I've ever posted him here lmao. This is Firecracker! He's a little Jack Russel guy who loves 4th of July themed baked goods (especially Star Spangled Ding Dongs hehe) and has the energy to match!

Anyways, after I digitized that sketch of Starburst last week, I saw that I had another sketch of Firecracker that I also did on my flights home from Europe last May, so I decided to finish that one up as well!

I made some minor tweaks to it but it’s generally the same thing haha. Tbh I’m kinda thinking abt changing up Firecracker’s design a little bit as well. Nothing major, just some little design notes here and there. Idk we’ll see how things go

Deer in the Headlights!

Rye gets his long-awaited new theme song post! So much like I did with Pumpernickel back at the end of December when I changed his theme song, I wanted to do the same for Rye! And also like Pumpernickel, I also updated his ref, because A: I didn’t really like how the old one was looking, and B: when it comes to the twins, you really can’t update one and not the other lmao.

But anyways, yeah, Rye’s new theme song! Deer In The Headlights by Owl City! I think the song fits him super well bc it’s about this guy who thinks he’s so suave and cool when he’s really just kind of an awkward nerd, and that definitely fits Rye’s characterization lmao. Rye likes to think he’s rlly cool stuff when he’s just kind of a dork lmao. But that’s okay, I love him for that nonetheless, and he still makes a great guitarist and keyboardist for Let’s Get Back! lol. That’s pretty much what I went for with the main piece :] It was a rlly fun piece to make!

With his new ref, he didn’t really get any design changes, if any. It was primarily a style update for him there, since like I said, his last one from May of 2022 was lookin pretty clunky. But I like how this one came out, so hopefully it’ll hold up for awhile

Ceremonial Flyover!

A birthday piece for myself! As of today, January 30th, 2024, I'm now 22 years old! Initially I was gonna try to do something a bit more futuristic themed, but then I thought of the idea of having two mini Concordes fly over in the shape of a 22 and I liked that enough to go with that idea instead haha. Ignore the fact that the paint schemes on them would make no sense from this angle, its more so just to get the idea across lmao. This piece was fun to make tho!

Anyways, happy birthday to me :] I'm not really doing anything for it since I don't really have the capabilities to (away at college without a car or a group of friends to do things with), so I'm kinda just hangin out I guess haha. As for what the year ahead holds, who knows? It could be just about anything at this point, I just hope it'll be my turn to reach for the clouds <3

Worth It

Mini comic/sequence thing based on some self-reflection after my Owl City concert last weekend

Like I've said before, little second grade me would never believe that I saw this band live. A band who's music I've been listening to for so long and means so much to me. The quote on the 4th pic is also one that's helped me immeasurably.

I don't quite feel like I'm through my dark times quite yet, but this is also sort of a message to my current self that one day this will all be worth it.

4 Year Shepiversary!!

Today, March 24th 2024, marks four years since I first made Shep!!

In that time, he really has evolved so much both as a character in his own right and as my main sona. It’s kind of ridiculous for me to look back at some of the first pieces I made of him and see how far both he and I have come since then <33

More ramblies abt what/how much he means to me below the cut :]

Shep was my first ever furry character and that was a big milestone for me, especially looking back on it now lol. I remember being nervous about taking that first step into having an anthro character because I had been in a lot of online spaces that had really negative views of the furry community (I would not wish being on iFunny upon anyone). Plus just branching away from WoF at the time, which my online presence had basically been built upon up to that point, also felt daunting.

But opening myself up to the furry community is something I’m so glad that I did and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Without taking that first step with making Shep, who knows, I might’ve never made things like Let’s Get Back! or gotten/made characters I so adore like PB, Starburst or Luau. I've met so many amazing people through this community and that's something I am so incredibly grateful for.

And then of course, Shep himself has really helped me in ways that no other OC of mine has. Given how I made him in March of 2020, that was right before the hardest stretch of my life so far, from early/mid 2020 through 2021. Having Shep as a way to express myself and channel the things I was feeling into a character really did help so much. I know I said this in my Shep post last year but it bears repeating, it really does feel like Shep and I have grown up together in the last four years. I don’t know how else to put it.

But 4 years and 232 toyhouse gallery images later, he’s still here with me. Despite everything, he's still me <33
