Here’s my first impressions.

Warning! a loooong post, squealing, incoherent thoughts smashed together, and crying ahead. A lot of crying.

OH NO. They really started it like this. I’m shivering in bed rn. It’s haunting and beautiful and too short. Is that marching?? That’s marching, are they going to war now omg hold on—

The transition into this was spectacular. The marching just became the beat wooooah! HONGJOONG AHJFKSL YES that’s how you start a song. Seonghwa and Yunho, beautiful. Wooyoung!! sounds amazing!! Seonghwa’s low voice o I was not prepared. San helloooo I love the instrumentation at this part. Jongho, as expected with the high note. Oh OH KAJA!! oooooohhhhh man the chorus goes hard I can’t wait to see the choreo. The production on this is spectacular. FiX oN MiNgiiiiii go off oml 🔥 YEOSANG 👏🏻 GET 👏🏻 THOSE 👏🏻 LINES 👏🏻 this is a head banging song I’m head banging rn. The way they bring it back right before the chorus *chef’s kiss* This is overwhelming man. Jongho with the bridge yussss he and San sound amazing. Wait they were right it is like Hala Hala they added both parts of the chorus together!! It’s almost over isn’t it. Yeah it’s over. Ok I need to breathe,,,

It’s starting kinda like a sad song this isn’t a sad song is it?? SANIIIIEEE! Aw this is cute I like it. Hongjoooooooong! I love this rap it reminds me of something. Ooh prechorus?? He didn’t say fix on :(( short but slick rap as always. I’m still trying to figure out what they’re saying in this chorus I don’t wanna blast it too loud everyone else is asleep I think... hhhhhh!! Mingi and Hongjoong SINGING IN THE BRIDGE holy cow im gonna lose it they sound beautiful YES THANK U THIS IS WHAT I WANTED. Wowwwww high note 🙌There’s something really really nostalgic about this song,, I am undone. The harmonies omg I can’t take this it’s like they know how much I love harmonies, unfair.

This prechorus, idk what to say it’s amazing. WOOYOUNG JUNG WOOYOUNG NO NO NO NO HES SINGING THE CHORUS AFHSJLSLE Jongho ur vocals are sweet honey please have mercy it’s only like the 4th song and I’m crying already. Hongjoong my boy, this style of rap holy cow. Did someone tell him this is my fave style of rap, because— oh, he’s still going?? Ah this is going on repeat the rest of today 🥰 Yeosang I couldn’t be happier you sound gorgeous and Yunho woah their voices match well. WOOYOUNG AGAIN!! This part was made for him it has to be. JONGHO! SO PLEASE!! This bridge I’m just a mess of tears now they are really singing their hearts out. Is it too early to have a favourite?

Ugh all these songs are ending so abruptly I’m never ready for the next one. Oh I’ve heard his.. aHA AHAAAAA I KNEW IT I KNEW IT I KNEW IT this is from the teasers. Yay there is already a fun flavour in this song! Hongjoong your voice is so rich in the low register daaaaang I need more of this. Seonghwa is that you? I feel like I haven’t heard his voice since Wonderland I’m sorry seonghwa my bff I’m getting whiplash trying to hear everyone’s parts but you killed it. These lyrics!! This is a hype song fs. THE BEAT DROP AAAAAAAAAHAHAHHAH!! “Ayyy we are gonna win” YES YOU ARE BOYS! Oh shoot I said that out loud I hope no one heard. Okay yes this is my new hype song no one is allowed to be discouraged listening to this. Oop “aha” Hongjoong hakdlaplajql I squealed again. Aw the rap verses were short but still slayed. This song is so fast I can’t keep up but I love it I am feeling this. The low voices and then the beat drop I can’t FUNCTION THIS IS SPECTACULAR !!!!! You are gonna wiiiiiin. This reminds me of Pirate King the altered voice and then adding a harmony the second time, anyone feel me? Mingi singing in the bridge again yes I love this. Ooo EDM break aaaahhah go crazy go stupidddd! I want a choreo for this, I need a choreo for this. Woah the instrumental is very unusual here. And it ended like that with the piano, deconstructing the elements of the song. Oh I need a second listen for musical reasons but we gotta move on.

This album is moving way too quickly we’re halfway done ripppp. I love the instrumental here it’s super slick. I’m already enjoying this very much. Oh high notes San!! Vocal line has popped off, exceeds expectations 100% Aww hi Mingi. Ah thank God the chorus is sweet and full of riffs wowowow this is a sharp contrast from last song. YEOSANG!!! My heart jumps every time I hear him, you don’t know how hard I prayed for him to have more lines. Hongjoong! What are these voices in the background?. Adorable, this is adorable aaaaahaha!! Oh it’s “we are one, we stay one” that they spoiled in ANEWZ I seeeee. This chorus ugh this whole song I love I just have the biggest smile on my face while also sobbing yall don’t understand. The bridge ahh idek what to say I’m so happy with this. You boys make me so proud I hope you know that 😭 !! The voices are back! This is literally so cute hELP

Sunrise. Okay deep breaths. I’m gonna just listen and try to not think about the fact Hongjoong cried writing this song. Let’s go. .... oh. OH. Oh it’s soft. I’m soft 🥺 ahhh man they sound so good. We’ve added instruments in the back. Oh Jongho that was such a clear note the vowel was perfect there. This chorus I can’t. Yeah ok I’m crying again something about the guitar I . Cant type. Oh man. Oh OH OH the bridge the BRIDGE THE BRIDGE everything the vocals the background music. Okay here’s our real stomp stomp clap moment. Ah ok wiping the tears now. They sound great. Hongjoong aaaahh what a way to end the song.

That was an experience I hope I get to breathe during this but I already know I won’t. Um.. it’s piano... for like a solid 20 seconds and it’s slightly jazzy are we getting a ballad?? Our first real ballad!! Eeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! Seonghwa yessss 🥰 Oh you guys I’ve wanted to hear a ballad from him for so long you don’t even know. Wait everyone sounds so perfect I can’t even describe this. Yunho baby yesss your voice. Wooyoung oml SAN ahhh San your transitions are stunning. Jongho our ballad king it’s like he’s barely even trying and it sounds amazing. Lovely lovely lovely. Mingiiiii he’s singing yet again. Hongjoong too!! Yes oh yes this is it. Their voices all being showcased so perfectly. I’m amazed how well they can all fit this style just as well as they can fit a song like Win. I have one criticism only so far and yall already know what it is. Yeosang still could’ve gotten more lines in this one :_( This is the last song before Beginning of the End oh no. Nooooo I don’t want it to be over. Oh? OH? Yeosang! Yeosangggggg!! Omg I have goosebumps he said NO IM TAKING OVER it’s MY SONG NOW! Wow amazing. The structure of this has been so so interesting I’m definitely going back to analyse. No it’s over...

I’m scared. I’m crying again noo it hasn’t even started jeez pull yourself together. Ok but before I start I really don’t want it to be over and not in a way that implies I want more songs just thinking about how... this is Ep Fin right? The end. Obviously not of ATEEZ (God forbid) it’s only been a year and they’re slaying it I mean absolutely knocking it out of the park each Ep bigger and bolder than the last, they aren’t afraid to try things and when they do they hit the nail on the head. But still this is the end of an era, a storyline too if I’m correct. And it’s just a surreal experience to see it come to a close. ATEEZ, I don’t know where you’re taking us next but I trust you guys and I know it’s going to be amazing.

Ok anyway let’s start the song 🤣 crackling noise? Fire? Ok it’s orchestral. VERY orchestral. “Open your eyes” I felt that San. They were open but I just opened them again. This orchestra is really really moving and cinematic I love it. I see what this is, we’re going Intro: Long Journey except Outro version which is fuller, richer, even more epic and emotional. Oh boy I’m really crying now. Idek what to say again I’m speechless. Oh it swells just like Intro!! Is it the end? Woah???????? What is this? .....SAN?? Wait wait wait it’s over? Like that? No hang on. Waaaait what was that? Seriously that was very strange. I’m not imagining things am I? No does this have something to do with upcoming albums? I’m so confused 😭 it sounded rly cool and spooky whatever it was. Well. Okay! Yeah I guess that’s it. That was the last straw. I should really try to go back to sleep I only have a few hours till I have to get up. But now I’m probably going to go write something, that music was really inspiring. Yeah I think I said what I wanted to honestly! Again I just want to reiterate how proud I am, and remind you to go stream!!!!

playride headcanons (with minor deere...)

i lied this is basically an entire fic but it’s written in headcanon format so uh just take it (also this all takes place post-squip)

also might delete this later bc it’s barely edited so! like and reblob!! @the-mangoos-n-craem

ok so a few months after they start dating christine and jeremy both start to realize they are uh maybe not straight

and they basically come out to each other like “so i have something to tell you” “me too!” “ok you go first” “no that’s fine you go first” “well i’ve been questioning my sexuality..” “ME T O O!!”

and while they are both very relieved to tell each other that they realize after a few more days that they don’t really feel a romantic connection and break up

jer realizes that while he still loves christine he had a crush on the idol he made her out to be, not the actual person

chris remembers her trepidation to date jerm in the first place bc it didn’t feel quite right.... but it was what everyone expected her to do and she’d figured she’d give it a shot

so basically the breakup is v mutual even tho jeremy’s thinking he might be bi while christine’s unsure but thinks she might not like boys at all???

eventually christine convince’s jeremy they should go to the gsa at their school together

acting with her usual pizzazz but in truth v nervous bc what it they don’t accept her? she doesn’t even know who she is what if she’s not really queer? etc

so anyway they go together after school and IMMEDIATELY christine notices brooke

not that she could miss her since brooke’s sitting at the front of the room next to jake, her copresident of the gsa — but gosh if chris wouldn’t’ve noticed her anyway because wowowow that soft blonde pixie cut and kind smile are just. overwhelming. and for a minute christine stops worrying about her orientation and just thinks, “i’m so fucking gay”

and brooke’s not fairing much better because their high school gsa isn’t all that big so she has to see christine, and she’s trying not to look at christine, because if she does brooke knows she’ll notice the cute gap between christine’s teeth that shows when she laughs (at jeremy, usually), and how shiny her hair is, and that oh my god she’s actually wearing a barette how cute can you get. and fuck if brooke doesn’t know all too well how she falls into love all too fast, but still. still.

and finally the meeting begins and of course brooke pays no mind to the way christine fidgets with her friendship bracelets while whispering to jeremy. nor does christine take note of how beautiful brooke’s deep, calm voice is.........

the second the meeting let’s out christine yanks jeremy away “we need to talk RIGHT NOW”

jeremy: “what!??”

christine: “wait so didn’t you used to date that girl?? the one with the blonde hair sitting next to jake????? i need info NOW also did you see how gorgeous she was because w o w”

jeremy: “oh. uh. that’s funny because uhh. sorry um didn’t you used to go out with jake? he’s.... pretty......”

christine: “ohmygod jER HAS A CRUUSHH”

brooke casually mentions that she’s trans one meeting and even though she knows chris will be cool with it (bc she’s not an asshole ya dig) she’s still a bit nervous,,,,,,

not to worry ofc, next time brooke looks in christine’s direction she’s beaming at brooke with pride and understanding and affection and brooke thinks she might faint dead away (and when chris sees brooke notice her she does too)

they finally exchange numbers even but still “as friends” because christine’s mostly used to guys asking her out and going along with it since she doesn’t know what else to do. and brooke — well, with guys she could flirt well enough, but girls? she doesn’t even know where to begin

OK SO FINALLY!!! jake helps brooke to work up the courage to ask chris out “and what about you jakey boy what’s your master plan to get with jeremy huh??” “...mumble mumble” “what’s that i hear — SQUAK— a.. chicken? — bawkbawkbAWK”

brooke chooses flowers from her own garden for christine and spends so much time picking them out,,,, she loves plants so much but chris maybe even more

she goes to the play (which christine is starring in of course..) and afterward approaches her and gives her the flowers

“hey um wow you did so great in the play!! like really amazing! and you looked so pretty in your costume and... and i was wondering if you maybe wanted to go out with me sometime?”

christine is shocked and,,,,,, a little teary mayhaps

and of course she says yes!!

and so there is lots of holding hands in the hallways

they like playing with each other’s hair

christine as a queen and brooke as a knight but chris has brooke’s helmet and sword and brooke has christine’s crown and scepter

chris makes them do lots of musical ship cosplays but brooke doesn’t mind at all bc she’d do anything to make her girlf happy plus dressing up is fun

the kind of old fashioned ‘50s dates ppl like to reminisce (you know the ones i mean — milkshakes at dinners, black and white movies, etc) except they talk about intersectional feminism and heteronormativity and sci-fi (which brooke LOVES by the way) and also how gay they are for each other

sometimes just ordering sushi and rewatching star wars together is enough and that’s fun too

flip this is a lot longer than i expected it to be but yeah!! have this playride fluff i love them both so much

over the past couple of days i’ve been thinkin of this headcanon i’m kinda hooked on now.

fnaf 1 takes place during the 90s and i would imagine sister location takes place in the early 80s, like 83ish? i like to think that michael was either in his late teens (17-19) or early 20s (21-23) when he was scooped, but at the same time, he also worked as an assistant to his dad and was often at the diner making repairs, helping him with things, etc. now enter phone guy–phone guy is the same age as michael, if not a year younger. he’s either a high school senior or a new adult who has no idea how to do the Adult Thing™ (again, depending on the age) who is super passionate about the characters and is a flat-out fanboy. so he gets a job at the diner and starts off as a typical employee, and eventually gets the hang of it and his anxiety over it starts to bubble away.

so our phone friend is busing tables like any normal day, and it’s hella busy and he’s running around and isn’t really focusing on anything except his job, which explains how he misses it at first. obviously afton would stop in quite often to do paperwork and check up on things, and he was there that day, but phone guy wasn’t really paying attention. but when he was leaving the kitchen with pizzas, he happens to catch a glance of someone who wasn’t a.) afton or b.) intimidating looking businessmen in suits, so he steps backwards to peek around the corner. and!!!! hoo boy, ther is a CUTE. BOY over there!!!

phone guy is like, awestruck at how beautiful this boy is to him and is stuck staring at him smack in plain sight, but he’s too immersed into listening to the businessmen talk to afton to notice. he looks extremely friendly and smiles every once and a while with a nod of the head, genuinely caring, and is also really damn attractive to him and phone guy at this point is like. holy fuck who is this boy?? is he a god?? i think he might be a god

tryin to play it cool, he gets the attention of a coworker and is like ‘hey who is he….? never seen him before, nope, just curious who he is, no reason why…..’ and someone explains that 1) he’s been around plenty of other times, he was just either in a suit or holed in an office were you not paying attention and 2) that’s afton’s son. and phone guy’s heart hits his feet bc his boss’s son…? that was dangerous. but was he gonna try and get a boyfriend anyway??? he absolutely fuckin was

but here’s the thing–he’s soooo nervous to talk to him. he doesn’t talk to him that day because he’s too intimidated by him but the next time michael’s around, he has to make tweaks to a spring suit and is shoved in a back room all by himself. phone guy floats by the doorway way more than he should have to get himself a good look of him and to also try and get himself to walk in and make small talk. scopin out muscles, noting how little wisps of hair fall in his face as he works, admiring his really blue eyes that were super pretty wow?? but he can’t talk to him, because he was so cool and good looking and nice and phone guy was so nerdy and shy and couldn’t possibly be his type. so he avoids him quite a few more times and the crush gets even bigger the more he avoids it, and michael notices this one worker staring at him out of the corner of his eye every once and awhile; if he ever tries to look though, they’d turn bright red and stumble with whatever they had in their hands, nearly tripping flat on their face in an attempt to get back to work. michael would be confused, but would shrug it off, because usually his dad would appear out of thin air every time to whisk him away because he needed him for something.

eventually though, michael needs to wear spring bon for a party and phone guy is the one who has to help him. so now he’s forced to talk to him, and phone guy’s heart is in his throat the entire time, beet red and averting his eyes any time he feels michael looking at him. he figures out his name and repeats it over in his mind, and michael notes what his was, because he seemed nervous–maybe he didn’t have any friends? did nobody here talk to him? michael does not get the hints at ALL and kinda forgets about him until he has to come back in another day. he sees phone guy with his back turned to the door, fiddling with something random with his shoulders tight, and michael thinks hard about what his name was before calling one out, hoping he was right. he was!! phone guy turns sheepishly, red faced yet again, and michael waves to him to say hello in an attempt to make him feel more at ease, but doesn’t really talk to him otherwise. he does this a couple more times and notices that phone guy comes around him more often each day that he says hi, until they both become acquaintances. they learn little bits and pieces about each other and phone guy helps him get in the suit any time he needs to and they eventually become friends. phone guy is less nervous around him, but he still gets flustered every once and awhile. because michael is precious, he still doesn’t understand why, until he starts to feel kinda weird around him. he finds himself studying the anxious (now manager!!) and his mannerisms, the endearing messiness of his hair, how he never showed himself to the customers unless a smile was plastered on his face, no matter how nervous he was. it takes him a while to put two and two together, but one night at home he’s thinking about it until eventually he realizes, holy shit, am i in love with this guy?? i think i am, wowowow, this is different, he’s really cute??

michael never really liked anybody before, so he had no idea what that would feel like. besides, he had always thought he was supposed to be attracted to girls, but they never really interested him. but this was strong, and now all of a sudden he was the one getting red and acting different around phone guy instead. they both avoid acknowledging anything (even though it’s painfully obvious now to both) until eventually everything comes to a peak late one night and phone guy admits how he had felt about him since he had first seen him, burying his face in his hands and swallowing the lump in his throat and hoping michael wouldn’t hate him for it. what if he wasn’t gay? what if he was, but phone guy was just too ugly for an actual angel like him? he can’t bring himself to look up and is close to tears in fear that he ruined his only friendship before the other admits that he had felt the same way but wasn’t sure how to bring it up. they become boyfriends, but only under the condition that they would keep it secret–michael was afraid that his dad would disown him for it, so they agree that they’d only show affection when they were alone.

things stay like this for a while before they start feeling more comfortable with each other, and they’re able to get away with things like small pecks on the cheek when running into each other between rooms, holding hands for brief moments when standing in a clump close enough to sneak it, or kissing while phone guy helped michael get into a suit in one of the costume rooms. michael would go over his house all the time (never the opposite) and spend the nights there, trying to give themselves as much time they could possibly get. they succeed in keeping it secret (partially; william figures it out right away but chooses not to say anything, since he was too concerned in planning his actions out to really care). they remain boyfriends up until michael disappears. phone guy is heartbroken but stays with the company, becoming a trusted employee of william’s and is often left in charge of the place whenever he’d have to leave town. phone guy stays with his boyfriend’s family’s company all the way up until he dies over the phone in the 90s.

yes, sure, they’d be horribly starcrossed, but i just like the idea of there being a cute little beacon in such a sad story. wonderful boyfriends, an anxious nerd and and a sweet son. i just want them to be HAPPY and have GOOD ENDINGS

tl;dr: michael and phone guy are the same age. phone guy has a huge ass crush on michael but doesn’t know how to approach him about it. eventually they become friends and then decide to date, but keep it secret to protect michael from his dad finding out. even after michael disappears, phone guy stays with his family’s company until he is killed in fnaf 1
