Definitely get you some Leah’s pecan brittle‼️😍 While you’re at it get you some decadent hot sauce from Pepper Palace. 🤤 If you’re a HOT 🥵 Girl like me with even HOTTER taste buds, you will not be disappointed. 🌶️ Outside of me comparing and contrasting Black metrics between Boston and New Orleans, I really am at that big grown age where I DO NOT want to tolerate shit I cannot change, *especially in 2024.* I also wanna live in my Black Anarchist Communal Libratory politics. This includes my housing security AND my “rootedness” which is more or less the same. I want to be anchored in a community where I feel seen and can be my most authentic self and that’s not CRACKASS *CLASSIST* BOSTON. She stands in the hotel lobby, a haughty grin upon her lips. Her stance is wide, blocking my path like some omniscient gatekeeper of the gods. The smile on her lips only widening as the click of her heels signal her imminent approach. She does not think I will know the answer to her riddle. Few do. Indeed, no mere mortal has yet succeeded. But I am no mere mortal. I await as the question falls from her lips like an ancient dream:

“You’ve seen me in countless TV shows and movies. You know my face like the back of your hand. But…what…is…my…na—

“Judy Greer.” I say, eyes blood shot and unblinking as I stare into the TV screen. “Ha! Did you guys know that?” I ask, wiping Cheeto dust onto my pant leg.

There is no reply.

For there is no one there.

In my quest to find a laundromat close to our Con hotel, I came across The Lost Sock on Rampart.

This is a really cool place.

Yes, you can get your clothes clean there, but it's not just a laundromat. It's also a gallery and arts venue, because this is New Orleans and of course it is. What's even cooler, though, is what this building used to be. From 1947-1956 this was the home of J&M Recording Studios. Inside these walls some of the greats, including Fats Domino and Little Richard, laid down some of the tracks that we know and love them for. A good argument could be made for this laundromat as a contender for being the birthplace of rock and roll.

The Lost Sock is a little more than a half mile from the Royal Sonesta, across the street from New Orleans Jazz National Historic Park and about a block away from Congo Square.

Vinnie Vincent made his first appearance in years at the inaugural Creatures Fest.

Vinnie was shredding as people entered, Standing high above the crowd on top of the incredible tank created for the event with blue and pink lighting. the crowd was told not to film or photograph.

The Holy Trinity performed together for the first time ever.

"Vinnie wanted to showcase Ace and I, so he won’t be playing any lead guitar. I never looked at performing with him as a competition more a meeting of guitarists doing their own style on classic KISS songs. But after I saw Vinnie in person while he was leaving his soundcheck, everything I heard was confirmed from him in his own words. He was cordial and friendly about it all, but nothing I could say to him would convince him to take a solo when Ace or I were on stage." - Bruce Kulick. "I purposely wore a headscarf covered in ankhs which I always called the 'Vinnie Vincent headscarf'.”

"So the “Holy Trinity” with all it’s surreal glory was now part of KISSTORY. Although many things were controversial for a concert evening featuring Vinnie Vincent, my take away was still positive.
