Sing a Bit of Harmony / Ai no Utagoe wo Kikasete (2021)

A story about an AI that is more human and compassionate than humans themselves. Satomi Amano (Haruka Fukuhara) is a loner at school until one day her new classmate, an AI named Shion Ashimori (Tao Tsuchiya) changes her life.

Shion is tasked to fit in like a normal teenage girl in school as part of a research project to develop an AI that is able to communicate effectively with human beings so that it is able to take care and look after humans in the future.

But Shion secretly has another task in mind, that is to make Satomi happy by connecting her with friends in her class. Her school is off to a crazy start and things start to look brighter for both Satomi and Shion.

Until one day, the company that created her decides to take her back by force after perceiving her as a threat. Satomi and her friends decides to save Shion who had created wonderful memories with them and to set her free.

I was reluctant to watch in the beginning fearing that it might be a sad anime. Although there are moments which leaves you in tears, there are also moments which makes you smile and the anime does have a good ending.

It feels like watching a Disney Anime, probably because of the occasional singing, beautiful music and amazing animation. I had no idea that Tao Tsuchiya could sing, now that I do, I want to hear more. Haha.

I like that the anime is set in the future but most of the things are still the same, except for a few technology like robot bus drivers, farmers and cleaners, and personal home AI app which is like a super advance SIRI to help you.

Unlike many futuristic films and anime like Blade Runner and Ghost in the Shell, which often depicts a dark and dystopian future, this one shows a brighter one where things are not much different than now but better.

"Спой немного гармонии"/"Sing a Bit of Harmony"/"Ai no Utagoe wo Kikasete"

Решила тут Утоши на досуге посмотреть анимцо из списка "буду смотреть" и, чтобы не возиться с сериалами, нашла полнометрагу. Только она не знала, что это грёбаный мюзикл...

Аниме идёт почти 2 часа и всё это время персонаж-андроид поёт по поводу и без него, от чего я постоянно испытывала стыд и неловкость. Кроме того в заявленных жанрах значатся комедия и повседневность, но мне было не смешно, а скорее довольно скучно смотреть тайтл. Слишком уж затянут сюжет, хотя рисовка и графика очень добротные. Должно было получится душевное аниме, которое заставит тебя задуматься о том, в чём состоит счастья конкретно для тебя, а получилось просто мимо проходящее среднестатистическое, о котором на следующий день и не вспомнишь 🤷

This week's Tune for Tuesday, "Lead Your Partner" from Sing a Bit of Harmony, is a really fun song from a movie that deserves SO much more attention! Seriously, this film is so darn wholesome, with great characters and growth, charming visuals, delightful humor, and quite possibly the only anime musical film out there. It's one of my favorite films in recent years, and I encourage you all to check it out and spread the word!

I just finished watching “Sing a bit of Harmony”, and it’s honestly one of my new favorite movies now.

The animation is stunning, the music is fantastic, I don’t know if I’m just being emotional today or what but I cried like 5 times.

Anyway it’s on Crunchyroll if you want to stream it and I would highly recommend it especially if you’re into slice of life/romance stuff.
