Scenario 1: you break your fucking leg on the first day.

♤SHU♤

-You broke your leg tripping over him... like why was he by the stairs???

-He laughed a little too much

-You: "It's not funny." Him: "It's not funny, it's hilarious-"

You looked up at Shu from the bottom of the stairs holding your injured leg. Tears were definitely flowing and you were definitely embarassed as fuck... You did not wanna look weak in front of him.. He laughed quietly almost mocking you with how slowly he descended stairs. You attempted to crawl away gritting your teeth and bearing the pain heading for the front door. Shu finally caught up to you as you were using the door to try stand up and try to get out. He stood over you and placed his hand firmly on the door with a smirk on his face. "S-shu... please don't-" Laughing, he responded, "You can't run from me now y/n..." he completely planned to monopolize you for the day. He picked you up and teleported y'all both to his bedroom. Shu laid down holding you ontop of him. He bit you over and over again until you passed out from the pain, and fell asleep with you there.

♤REIJI♤

-Fell right in front of him while serving his tea

-you wanted to impress him so bad, but ultimately you're too clumsy

-He does patch you up; which surprised you at first.. however it was followed by a lecture

"Perfect." You smiled as you finished his tea. You were hoping to suck up to Reiji because he seemed the most reasonable. (In a house full of vampires that is...) You picked out the prettiest china set and made sure to keep everything perfect. Arriving at his door; you interrupted his peace with a knock at his door. "Come in." Opening the door nervously; you fumbled in. As you walked closer, for some reason your foot got caught up on the trolley holding the tea. The whole sequence felt slow motion as you fell landing directly on your leg. "OW- Motherfu-" You held your leg as Reiji closed his book and stood up with a dissatisfaction plastered all over his face. You felt your whole body get chills seeing his face with the most menacing glare. His cold expression froze you on the floor. Looking down to hide your embarrassment you quietly said, "I'm v-very sorry, Reiji-san.." He wordlessly examined your leg; letting out a sigh when you whimpered at his forceful touch. "Your incompetence truly knows no bounds. I'll have to train you properly; this was such a pitiful display." He picked you up and carried you to the counter in his science lab to help fix your mistake.

♤LAITO♤

-"Awe little bitch did you hurt yourself?~ You'll have to rely on me now.. hehe"

-Sadistic then nice

- You were running from his advances and fell really hard on concrete...

'SHIT SHIT SHIT.' You fell hard on the concrete outside the mansion. Laito finally caught up with you and your whole body was panicked. Getting caught by Laito meant anything was on the table. Despite his "loving/pervy" attitude he was definitely mean and cruel. "Ah~ yes.. that's the face little bitch..." He kneeled down and held your injured leg in his hand. He looked you directly in the eyes as he squeezed your leg with his vampire strength. You immediately cried out and he smiled even more than before. "Can't you imagine it little bitch~? You struggling and writhing beneath me in pleasure with your poor injured leg shaking as well... Ah~ I can picture it so clearly~..." He hastily picked you up and took you to his bedroom to fix up your leg. "You'll have to rely on me, my sweet little bitch~"

♤AYATO♤

- laughing so hard

-"You're my stupidest prey ever..."

-drinks your blood until you pass out

Ayato chased you pretty regularly, so this was no different than all the other times.. except this time, there was a rock. Yep. A rock. Why was this rock here? How did you trip on it? And why was your leg pulsating in pain afterward? You tried to stand up to run again, but you fell right back down and could not get back up. If there was a God, he definitely hated you. Ayato's laughter rang out, breaking the little silence that you had. You looked up at him with a displeased face, and he laughed even harder. "H-how stupid are you?? You tripped over a ro-" He couldn't even get his sentence out because of his bellowing laughter. He keeled over and held his stomach, mocking you in every capacity. "Okay!! You can stop laughing now, I need help!!" Ayato immediately stopped laughing after your small outburst, "And why should the great Ore-sama help you, Titless/melons?" His whole demeanor changed, and you got chills. "Y-you're right... I'm completely at your mercy, Please help me, Aya- Ore-sama." Ayato smirked and picked you up, "That's more like it." He bit you hard and teleported you to his room.

♤KANATO♤

- Terrifying.

-hysterical laughter

- "This is too funny, (y/n)... now there's no way you can escape me."

Dolls??? Human dolls???? Why did you have to pick the maniac?!? You were running from the horrific scene when you tripped and fell. Hard. "K-kanato... wait, I think I broke my le-" He cut off your sentence by laughing hysterically at you. You started crying, and Kanato stopped laughing. "Awe, poor little (y/n)... did you hurt your leg?" He cooed. You tried to calm down, but your fear was swirling your brain right now. He could totally kill you right now and turn you into one of those sick dolls.. You felt Kanato's cool hand run over your leg, and he cooed softly at you again. "Like a broken little doll~ I'll fix you right up.." You immediately started crying harder. "Be quiet!" He screamed and slapped you hard. You held your cheek and looked at him in silence. He picked you up and carried you to his room to patch you up. Singing softly as he did so.

♤SUBARU♤

- doesn't care at first, but then you started crying

- A big softy for your tears

-"Tch... Fine... I'll help you, I guess... but this is the only time."

You and Subaru had a weird relationship.. He had his anger problems, but he could be sweet when he wanted to. You had tripped over a stair while he was walking ahead of you. "Ow ow ow... shit..." You looked down and saw your ankle twisted. Subaru looked behind himself and saw you holding your ankle. "What the fuck did you do?" It's like he couldn't keep his eyes off you for one second without you messing something up. "I-I think I twisted my ankle.." he sighed in annoyance and walked back over to you on the floor. "Do you think you can stand?" He actually looked concerned for a second. "I-I don't know..." You tried but to no avail. "Fine.. hold out your arms." Subaru picked you up and carried you to your room where he patched you up. "Thank you, Subaru." His eyebrows furrowed in anger, and he leaned down and bit you hard. "I didn't do it for you. So don't expect me to take care of you or anything."

🍫 This would be a regular occurrence for him every single Valentine's Day.

🍫 If there’s something this man is used to, it's being admired.

🍫 In fact, every single year when Valentine’s Day comes around, his locker would be filled to the brim with chocolates and love letters.

🍫 And every single year, he’d struggle with opening his locker.

🍫 Shū’s even thought about skipping the day and ditching school altogether.

🍫 Reiji usually forces him along with some of the other maids, secretly the maids find it funny for Shū’s reaction each year as the amount seemingly doubles.

🍫 Once he finally used all his force to open the locker door, thousands of letters and chocolates flew out.

🍫 It was especially bad one year, during his first year of high school, where he needed the janitors to open his locker for him.

🍫 They were shocked to be instantly flooded with love confessions and cute teddy bears.

🍫 The entire hall was covered in all of these letters addressed to Shū.

🍫 (Ririe, at the time, before he’d change his name.)

🍫 It was embarrassing to say the least, even more so when Shū is sitting, covered, almost drowning, in these letters.

🍫 He’s definitely beloved, and Ayato always sees it as a competition between him and Shū to see who gets the most letters and chocolates– not to mention confessions.

🍫 It’s Ayato’s unsaid thing that he keeps track of. Hell, he even has a whole tally chart and graph. The only time you’d see him pull out the whiteboard for math purposes is to win against Shū.

🍫 But for every year that passes, he always loses.

🍫 It’s gotten to the point where he gets upset about the day, and in response, Laito and Kanato are forced to cheer him up.

🍫 Shū’s usually indifferent to receiving chocolate. He doesn’t have a set opinion on it, after all they’re the ones choosing to spend their money on him.

🍫 It’s canon that this boy isn’t that fond of sweet treats, so most likely he’d give all his chocolate to Kanato, or the current Prospective Bride at the time.

🍫 Maybe if he’s a bit peckish, he’d have some himself.

🍫 Everyone’s reactions to him coming home with a large sac of letters and chocolates would be annoying to deal with.

🍫 Especially with Ayato and Reiji’s blatant jealousy.

🍫 Shū would be nice about it, though. He’d appreciate the gesture, for all its worth. But would let them down as nicely as he could.

🍫 If it’s becoming more of a hassle for him, though. Like he’s being harassed, expect him to be visibly annoyed.

Reiji:

🍫 Reiji gets a medium amount of love letters and chocolates. Not as much as Shū, but enough.

🍫 He doesn’t exactly care about this day, he finds it more of an annoyance if anything.

🍫 Like we get it, you’re in love. Can we please get back to work? – Reiji, probably.

🍫 He also isn’t the type to keep track, however he only will show some sort of care when it comes to competing against Shū.

🍫 To his dismay, Shū never cares, yet receives the most.

🍫 However, he is definitely a hopeless romantic, despite his annoyance.

🍫 Like he’d bring that to the grave and then the next life. It’s his biggest downfall.

🍫 When given chocolates, he’d try and show some sort of indifference, after all he does have a reputation to keep up.

🍫 But inside he’d 1000% appreciate the gesture. It makes him feel good inside, especially to know that others enjoy his demeanour.

🍫 Reiji gets enough criticism at home, so for people to be displaying their interest, despite him knowing that sometimes he can be a bit insufferable to be around, means a lot.

🍫 Like you made his day. Not that anyone would know, though.

🍫 He’d even inspect the chocolates at first before accepting them, after all, he can’t let his guard down.

🍫 This, and the fact that it has to pass his ridiculously tough standards.

🍫 He’ll look for the artisan, the craftsmanship, and the overall theme.

🍫 Reiji’s like your worst critic. Even more so for himself.

🍫 If the chocolates do happen to meet his standards, then you’re in luck.

🍫 He will graciously accept them with a polite “Thank You” and a small smile, though he’ll never admit to enjoying them too much.

🍫 (He just for the life of him, cannot, let go of his walls.)

🍫 If the chocolates don’t meet his expectations, he’d maintain his composure but might subtly express his disappointment.

🍫 This can either be through a raised eyebrow or a slight frown.

🍫 He is not shy at all or hesitant to offer pointers on how they could be better next time.

🍫 But regardless of how he may react in public, in private it’s a whole different story.

🍫 Reiji would keep the chocolates neatly organized and stored away, perhaps even using them as a reward for himself during his study breaks or moments of relaxation.

🍫 This would be the small glimpses of vulnerability you get from Reiji as he savours them away from the world and in the confines of his private study.

Laito:

🍫 Laito would have a few set admirers throughout the years.

🍫 So having the small giggles behind corridors, and hush hush love confessions, along with letters and roses aren’t shocking.

🍫 He’s one of the regulars, along with Ayato and Shuu, who get a lot of valentines.

🍫 He takes interest in this holliday. Laito is one of the ones, along with Ayato, who enjoy it.

🍫 In fact, he makes it a point to great himself to somethings during the day.

🍫 Like dinner reservations, perhaps light flirting with a few girls, that sort of thing.

🍫 Some Valentines Day’s, he would make dinner reservations with Kanato, and treat his younger brother.

🍫 Secretly, he enjoys spending time with his brothers, even if he has his subconscious loathing.

🍫 Laito would use the day as an excuse to permit him sleeping around.

🍫 After all, isn’t that what the day is for?

🍫 He’d probably lure some girl who’d confessed to him and then spend the night with her.

🍫 Otherwise, he finds the chocolate and confessions endearing.

🍫 To be in love, and love in general has always been a murky subject for him.

🍫 Laito yearns to be able to love someone as pure heartedly as Ayato can.

🍫 In fact, it’s canon that he loathes Ayato for being as pure as he was, and wishes he, too, was pure.

🍫 But we all can’t get what we want, can we?

🍫 So Laito sticks to his role, even more so accentuated on Valentines Day. It’s all a part of the act, and who else would he be if not a slave to his own design?

🍫 Now, when Ayato complains about him losing again, you bet he’s one of his biggest supporters.

🍫 He’d secretly leave a few letters in his locker the day before, have some chocolate planned out. The whole works.

🍫 Sometimes, he doesn’t know why he does it. After all, he has a standstill relationship with Ayato.

🍫 Sure, they’re the closest of the brothers, but there’s that small lingering feeling of ‘why can’t it be me?’

🍫 (Take that how you want!!)

🍫 Overall, when receiving chocolates, he’d enjoy some, but most likely would loan them off to Kanato.

🍫 Laito canonically likes macaroons, so sure he’d be fine with chocolates, but if you knew him well enough, you’d present macaroons to gain his affections.

Kanato:

🍫 Kanato gets quite a lot of valentines.

🍫 Like he definitely gets more than Ayato or Laito.

🍫 This is mainly because both the girls and guys fawn over his whole cute boy appeal.

🍫 And coupled with the fact that some think he’s a girl.

🍫 It annoys him to no end to know that people still think and mistake him for one. However, if it happens to work in his favour, he’s alright with it.

🍫 He loves sweets. And just anything in between.

🍫 He’s a whole fanatic. So it’s not as shocking to see him interested and overtly excited for Valentine's Day to arrive.

🍫 Kanato has it marked down on his calendar and everything.

🍫 The day is even circled in red via. crayon all in a heart shape.

🍫 This one loves it.

🍫 Especially with the aesthetics people can use. He is a sucker for the outfits he could match up with.

🍫 After all, he knows that’s what both the girls and boys like.

🍫 And if Kanato caters to his audience, chances are his odds of winning become 100%.

🍫 It’s canon that he’s quite manipulative in order to get what he wants, so take this as an example of that.

🍫 In a sense, Kanato feels ‘entitled’ to getting chocolates on this day.

🍫 Like if any of his brothers have any, he’d instantly pull out his cards and obtain them.

🍫 He also likes when Ayato or Laito give away their candy to him. It makes the most sense in his mind, considering how he eats, breathes, and adores desserts and savoury treats to the fullest.

🍫 When a few boys come up to him, assuming he’s a girl, he actually plays along with it, to everyone’s surprise.

🍫 Like once, some of Ayato’s teammates came up to him and gave a confession along with some chocolates.

🍫 Ayato and Laito stood off to the side and watched as their brother was being flirted with and as he played along to their antics.

🍫 Once the boys left, they passed Ayato and Laito and thanked Ayato for being okay with them sharing their affections for their sister.

🍫 Ayato would go up to Kanato, Laito as support, and Kanato would just say “I wanted the chocolate.”

🍫 In terms of accepting affections, Kanato wouldn’t care for it.

🍫 Shockingly, he’s one of the biggest heartbreakers in the school.

🍫 And everyone has a set idea that they can be the one to change him.

🍫 So for every Valentine’s Day that comes around, many more try their luck in hopes of being the one Kanato chooses.

🍫 (Spoiler: They’re never chosen, and they go home defeated or in a state of array, not realizing that they’ve been tricked.)

Ayato:

🍫 This man, believe me when I say it, is an IT boy.

🍫 To his core, everyone loves him.

🍫 He’s like the modern day Ririe before he lost his drive.

🍫 And Ayato really plays on that narrative.

🍫 So when V-Day rolls around, you bet he has all the girls and some guys coming up to him with chocolates and notes to give their confessions.

🍫 To Ayato, it’s most definitely an ego booster.

🍫 After all, who doesn’t like him?

🍫 Ayato cares about Valentines Day the most out of his siblings.

🍫 Part of him likes the attention he gets from everyone, whilst the other subconsciously uses it as a setting mark for how likable and good of a person he is.

🍫 That’s why he cares so much about how many letters, chocolates, and potential confessions he’s received.

🍫 If he doesn’t see the results in pure tangible numbers, he bases his self-worth over it.

🍫 So for every year he loses against Shū, he wonders if there’s something wrong with him.

🍫 All Ayato can think about is his mothers constant nagging on ‘beating Shū.’

🍫 If he can’t even beat him in a stupid popularity discourse, then what good is he?

🍫 Laito and Kanato take notice to this, and always keep a stack of Valentine’s Day notes with them to add to Ayato’s pile.

🍫 Kanato will even go as far as to sharing his chocolates with Ayato.

🍫 Whilst Laito will continue changing up his handwriting to write more notes in order to boost Ayato’s self-esteem.

🍫 And it’s a given that those 2 are the saviours for the day.

🍫 You know that they’re going to be talking up Ayato, telling him how great of a brother he is, how cool and sick he looked during his basketball tournaments.

🍫 You know, just the small stuff to keep the waters calm.

🍫 He’d enjoying eating the chocolate, however not too much considering that he’s an athlete.

🍫 If he’s in a good mood, he’d share with Kanato.

Subaru:

🍫 This one… well he’s anti-social.

🍫 He doesn’t exactly care for Valentines Day, considering how he doesn’t really get that many valentines. (That he knows of.)

🍫 Subaru would be the most shocked out of everyone.

🍫 It’s canon that he’s a loner, and oftentimes doesn’t hang around anyone.

🍫 So most likely due to his reputation, and the potentially bad things people say about him (mainly said in passing from Ayato or Laito,) that he doesn’t have any friends.

🍫 So for someone to give him something for Valentines Day? He’d be skeptical.

🍫 Subaru definitely wouldn’t accept it. He would think it’s some sort of sick prank carried out from Ayato or Laito.

🍫 He’d get embarrassed, fast.

🍫 Like humiliating him, seriously? He’d deal with his brothers at a later date.

🍫 This poor, sweet boy can’t comprehend the fact that he can be likeable, to anyone.

🍫 This honestly makes him feel worse about himself than anything.

🍫 And the poor person who offered the chocolate? Well lets just say his shock and instance scared them away. Perhaps for good.

🍫 Say if he accepted it, his brothers would 100% tease him.

🍫 He’s the youngest, so of course it’s normal.

🍫 He’d get all flustered as well, like his face would go red, down to his neck, and faintly on his ears.

🍫 Subaru definitely gets more valentines than you’d think. However since he’s always stuck over his head, he doesn’t realize it.

🍫 A lot of people actually like him, however he keeps himself away from people due to his fear.

🍫 Like the bad boy, shy and lonely appeal really shows with him.

🍫 Once, some girl went up to Ayato and Laito in hopes of them giving Subaru her confession letter and box of chocolate.

🍫 They genuinely thought it was for them, but to hear it was for Subaru, Ayato lost it.

🍫 After all, he isn’t some delivery boy!

🍫 The ride back home was awkward to say the least, with Subaru being teased by Laito and Ayato ranting about the treatment.

🍫 Subaru definitely reads over some of the letters when he’s down, as they talk about his character. It makes him wonder if he’s so bad that he tries to convince himself to believe.

🍫 For a moment, he thinks that he could be loveable.

Would He Give Chocolate To Someone?

🍫 Realistically, for his current self, not really.

🍫 If he was really enamoured with someone, then he’d do the whole works.

🍫 I like to think that his love language is gift-giving. Considering his abundance of wealth, he’d be a really great gift-giver.

🍫 But if we’re asking his younger self? Of course, but in secret.

🍫 Shū would take great pride in doing something nice for someone, so when ‘White Day’ comes around, if he likes them, they’re 100% getting spoiled.

🍫 He really doesn’t seem like the type of person to care about this stuff, however due to his large abundance of money, it’s all in good nature for him to spend it.

🍫 He has so much money either way, what’s he going to do if not spend it?

Reiji:

🍫 Reiji, realistically, wouldn’t waste his time with that.

🍫 He knows his worth, in a sense, and wouldn’t be entertaining someone he knows he isn’t interested in.

🍫 Call that the ‘gentlemen’ in him.

🍫 However, he would entertain it for a lover. Before forcing them to get back to work.

🍫 Reiji doesn’t like to admit it, but he’s secretly a hopeless romantic.

🍫 He really wants to spoil someone, and vice versa.

🍫 Like he can be a bit of a romantic, even though he loathes emotions, he’d let his walls down for this.

🍫 He’d even go as far as doing the most in hopes of competing against Shū.

Laito:

🍫 Laito has many admirers.

🍫 Most in the sense that he uses them for a quick fling.

🍫 So the chances of him actually having a favourite is unlikely.

🍫 Thus, coming to the conclusion that he wouldn’t give anything for ‘White Day.’

🍫 He likes the current relationship he has with some of the people he messed around with, so why would he want to risk ruining it?

🍫 Say if he did have a partner, then his natural romantic side would come out.

🍫 But would it be superficial? You be the judge of that.

Kanato:

🍫 Most likely not.

🍫 Kanato, like Ayato, likes receiving more than giving.

🍫 So chances are very slim with this one.

🍫 But if you catch him in a good mood, he’d offer for them to join him at a tea party.

🍫 So in a sense, sure?

🍫 Honestly, he’s very selective, so if Kanato does get chocolates, he’d buy some of his favourites and call it a day.

🍫 You better be grateful, though. After all, Kanato doesn’t just share his sweet treats with anybody.

Ayato:

🍫 Ayato’s pride would not allow him to do such a thing. No way.

🍫 He likes receiving goods, not giving. He’s more so take, not give.

🍫 But on the off chance that he is really attracted to someone and values them, he’d consider getting a small chocolate bunny.

🍫 Something small and sweet.

🍫 (Shocking for him who likes to show off, but he becomes shy with this sort of stuff,)

🍫 But make sure to really appreciate it, especially if he goes to brag about it to his brothers.

Subaru:

🍫 Subaru gets very embarrassed, and very quickly too.

🍫 The chances of him giving something in return isn’t as slim as many would think.

🍫 If he really liked the person, and found himself comfortable around them, then he’d give some chocolate.

🍫 I like to think that he can bake, very well at that.

🍫 Like he’s the designated baker of the family, but he likes to keep his hobby as a secret.

🍫 So imagine the cute bento boxes, and chocolate covered strawberries, along with cute cakes he’d make.

🍫 Normally he has to hide it away from Kanato, and his other brothers in fear of being teased. But once he’s over that stage, his potential partner would enjoy his sweet treats.

🍫 BONUS: Subaru would use the schools culinary kitchen to bake if he doesn’t want to risk being seen at home!

Sakamaki Brothers Had Nightmare

Shu Sakamaki:

He woke up with a gasp.

In the dream he saw, you were killed by his brothers.

He was sweating and breathing heavily.

You were sleeping comfortably when he looked at you.

He sat on the bed for a while, looking at you.

He stroked your soft cheek with his thumb.

He pulled you between his arms and pressed you tightly to his chest.

He closed his eyes and inhaled your scent.

He thought, what a troublesome woman you are, entering his dreams like this…

After this nightmare, his desire to turn you into a vampire increased even more.

He became even more aware of the need to keep you away from his brothers.

After that, he wouldn't let you out of his sight.

Reiji Sakamaki:

It was a shame to think that a nightmare would affect him so much.

He had a dream that you were killed by his father.

He was scared. It was the first time he had felt this feeling so clearly.

When he woke up, he was nervous; when he couldn't see you.

Are you really gone? Where have you been?

Just when he was about to get up and call you, you walked out of the room with a glass of water in your hand.

When you saw Reiji, when you were about to get up, you stopped and looked at him carefully.

You saw Reiji's eyes were widened and sweating.

You were worried.

When you immediately put the water on the nightstand and went to him, he suddenly hugged you tightly.

He is very ashamed that he has shown such weakness for you and that only the thought of a human dying has made him like this.

But you were not just a human; you were his human and his woman.

Feeling his warmth calmed him down a little bit.

He hugged you for a while.

Meanwhile, you were shocked, it was too sudden.

He's never been this close to you before.

Finally, he let go of you and pulled back, looked at you, and asked why you were up at midnight.

When you said you were going to get some water, he sighed and told you to go back to bed to get the water.

You drank the water quickly, and you went back to bed.

Suddenly, you felt Reiji hugging you.

Your eyes widened, and your cheeks got slightly red.

You wish he could always be like this.

Ayato Sakamaki:

He felt himself under the water.

The water was covering his lungs and preventing him from breathing.

He felt like his lungs were going to explode.

His mother was laughing at him while he was drowning.

When he felt that gradually the pain in his lungs subsided, he quickly opened his eyes.

He was awake.

The nightmare was over; he wasn't drowning, his mother was dead, and she wasn't laughing at him.

He looked at you for a short while and shook you to wake you up.

When he told you to give him your blood, you were about to reject him in a weary voice and go back to sleep.

You looked at him with squinted eyes and saw that he was crying. You slowly straightened up, turned to him, and as you put your small hand on his cheek and caressed his cheek.

You asked in a tired voice why he was crying.

He was surprised. Was he crying? When he touched his cheek with one hand, he realized that he was honestly crying.

He just said it was a trivial nightmare and pulled you to himself, buried his head in your neck, and ran his teeth over your skin.

He was about to bite, but stopped, sighed, and retreated.

Suddenly, he pushed you on the bed and buried his head in your breast.

You were embarrassed when he said in a muffled voice;

That your big and soft boobs would also make him feel comfortable.

You stuttered and told him not to say such embarrassing things.

He just pressed his face more and more against your breasts and told you to shut up and go to sleep.

Kanato Sakamaki:

Kanato had a nightmare about you dying.

He woke up sweating and in tears.

He was sweating and moaning in distress when he started hearing your worried voice.

He quickly opened his eyes.

He immediately straightened up and put his hand to his forehead.

You wiped the tears from his cheek with your thumb.

And kissed him gently and hugged him.

When you told him this; ''it was just a nightmare, everything was already over, and that he had a new life now, that the past didn't matter now,'' he got emotional.

He hugged you too.

You both hugged each other for a while.

When he finally calmed down, you went back to bed and hugged him again tight.

He knew you were there for him.

Your warmth has comforted him.

Subaru Sakamaki:

You woke up to the cry of Subaru.

When you opened your eyes, you turned your head to him and looked at him.

He was straightened on the bed and looking at his hands with wide eyes.

His hands were shaking and he was breathing hard.

He had a dream that he killed you.

When he reached out to touch him, he turned to you suddenly.

Before you could touch him, he pushed your hand away and told you not to touch him with a harsh tone of voice.

You frowned and you were about to ask him what was the matter.

When you noticed that he was crying, your words were interrupted.

He's never shown this side of himself to you before.

His brow furrowed, and he was still breathing hard.

When you put out your small hand to touch his cheek.

This time he did not push your hand away.

He only closed his eyes and gnashed his teeth

You wiped the tears from his cheek with your thumb and gently approached him for a hug, taking him in your arms.

After a short while, he suddenly returned the hug.

He was hugging you tighter and inhaling your scent hard.

After a while, he left you and got out of bed and left the room; he didn't listen when you told him to go back to bed.

He just told you to sleep.

The nightmare he saw would cause him to stay away from you for a while.

SUMMARY: You need space, Kanato will never let you have it. Until one day, after talking to Karl and venting to him, he gives you a keychain that’ll change the power balance between you and your vampire.

Author’s Note: This was supposed to be a drabble ;P

Many people would tell you that ignoring Kanato Sakamaki would either be your worst or last mistake. You knew that’d be false. Why? Because the people who said those words wouldn’t be alive, at all, if they somehow survived and lived to tell the tale.

It was just hard. Comparing you to younger girls, the same ol’ comments about how easy you are to replace, how his dolls deserved to be pampered and you weren’t as you’d never be dear enough the way they were; the only way to achieve any sort of mental peace was to just shut him out completely.

Block out the source, if you will.

And so, you did. Thanks to Karlheinz and expressing your desires for needed space between you and the purple prince, he gave you a keychain that allowed you and your presence to become invisible, making you nothing more than a wandering ghost at the press of your fingertips. It was a simple button keychain and nothing seemed out of the ordinary at first glance. For the life of you, it was hard to decipher why such a powerful device was bestowed to you, especially one that was so convenient and useful.

It just seemed too good to be true.

After some encouraging inner thoughts that were just looping chants of ‘You’re never gonna know if this works unless you try it-‘, ‘What’s the worst that could happen-‘, words failed to go out of your mouth the second that you walked past Laito and he didn’t utter a single word, much less notice that you were actually in front of him, for the first time since you’ve entered the mansion, he was completely silent.

Laito, the same Laito that’d make a comment just from the littlest bit of your skin showing, not making a single comment on your bite-ridden body? That’s how you knew for sure that the keychain worked.

It started off as just an innocent little press. Just a little press of the thumb to give yourself alone time - something you, in the past, couldn’t conceive was even possible when you chose Kanato.

Just an extra five or ten minutes to yourself wouldn’t hurt. It was doing you real good, because lately it was the thing you were looking forward to; finding a place that was secluded and giving yourself the bliss that was pressing the keychain.

And damn, it did you GOOD. As you made yourself vanish into thin air, leaving nothing but the trace of your lasting scent into the dark hallways that’ve seen through all the horrors and bloodied pain, that’s when you saw something extremely… strange.

Stranger than the usual quota.

Footsteps coming from the corner started pacing to where you stood. Well, ‘stood’ isn’t the correct grammatical tense, as you were still presently standing where you left off, albeit a few steps back.

That’s when you saw him: two beady button-eyed, and a feline, petite figure you knew too well. How long was he following you for?

“…That’s not right.” Kanato’s eyes raced from corner to corner, honing in like missles trying to find their trajectory. You had enough experience with the keychain to know that none of the other brothers’ senses could pinpoint where you were. Not even the faintest exhale coming from your lungs could give you away.

Yet, all the goosebumps, raging like bolting lighting, throughout your skin were making you have doubts on how safe-proof you truly were.

“Hey… Teddy, I’m sure she went through this hallway. Could our eyes be deceiving us?”

Thank god the keychain was.

He looked around more, his slow, blinking eyes trying to rummage through the darkness. The hallway wasn’t perfectly lit, the moon waned and the clouds obstructed her pale light. “She was here. There’s no other way she could’ve gone. But… the trail ends here. Something isn’t right,” Kanato trails off, his twitching nose mimicking that of a police dog.

He knew. Rather, he was confident in his supernatural abilities to know there was something amiss. Kanato’s knuckles turned pink the more the minutes went by. You wanted to go somewhere else and since you were practically a ghost, going through objects and walls was something you learned the hard way.

It’s just… you couldn’t tear your eyes from how he was reacting.

“WHERE IS SHE?!” Kanato screeched at the top of his vocal chords, making you question how short the distance between you two was. “Teddy, I can’t locate her scent! This doesn’t make sense! She should be here… but she’s not!”

A frustrated groan boiled itself out of him. He walked up and down the hallway, looking more akin to a broken, toy soldier. You can’t count the number of times his head turned side to side, or how long his purple eyes hadn’t blinked in the span of five minutes.

For him, each time he blinked, the more it registered that your presence had somehow vanished into the cold air of the night. Each time he closed his eyes wondering when this cruel game of hide and seek would end, it just kept continuing on like a lullaby of an erratic music box.

…

Wait.

It just occurred to you: since Kanato is aware of your disappearance, re-appearing would not guarantee your safety. All the times you disappeared, it was during the times he was asleep or you were sure you were alone, for the most part.

Looks like this game of hide and seek, in just one night, changed into a game of life and death. And this time, you had the upper hand.
