#Quaritch never stood a chance

Note
Hello there mate!
Hope you're doing good and I'm here to say I ADORE you're Dad!Tsu'tey works and they bring me my daily dose of serotonin.
But also, since I've read (and reread) the "Grumpy dad and his feral son" work I've been having some thoughts. Like, what if Tsu'Tey was just a second too late and they managed to take Spider away? How would he react (I mean obviously he would hunt the shit out of them down) ? When would he and Spider reunite again? In the forest while he was with the recoms? In the battle of the Sea Dragon? I mean he would most def come to his rescue if the letter is the case to come and get him (+ to aid the Sullies), but then I also wonder what would happen. Would the whole Neytiri holding him hostige infront of Quaritch so he would release Kiri thing happen? How would he react to that? Or what if he got shot instead on Neteyam (not dying tho cos I want both my faves to live a happy life) ? I bet Tsu'Tey would be fucking terrified cos it woul remind him of how he got shot and almost died.
Anywho I'm sorry for the long line of questions and suggestions I left but when my brain finds something to hyperfixate on it will not stop coming up with questions and possible scenarios for the said thing 😅
I love the way your brain thinks Anon. (The fact I literally had most of these scenarios either thought out or planned :D) This got long. All the questions just gave me so many ideas and I RAN with it. Enjoy the memes and I hope there's no obvious spelling mistakes.
>_<
If Tsu'tey were too late to grab Spider before Quaritch got to him:
I could definitely see him tearing off after the recoms. Maybe he springs from the bushes too late, and Quaritch has already hoisted the boy up over his shoulder. Naturally, Tsu'tey still tries to attack him with his bow, but Lyle opens fire too fast and he old instinct has him retreating. Man definitely has some PTSD from getting shot during the war, and although mentally he still wants Spider back, his body goes on auto-pilot and throws him out of the line of fire. Lyle keeps shooting in his direction as the recoms retreat, but Tsu'tey isn't gonna let something as silly as instinct keep him down for long.
That's his boy, they'll have to kill him to keep him from getting him back. Thankfully, Jake knows exactly where his brain went and literally had to throw himself at this man so he didn't end up getting himself shot (again). Jake likes Spider well enough, but he thinks regrouping is a better course of action than charging in guns blazing - shocker, he's actually matured since having his kids.
Tsu'tey definitely fights with all he has against Jake, cursing at him and trying to wrestle himself free. He can't focus on anything but the distant roar of the enemy ship as it soars in close to the canopy. He can see the lights, and through the trees, the vague outlines of the recoms strapping themselves in. Lo'ak definitely has to wrestle the hunter's knife out of its sheath before he remembers it is there. But no one can save Jake from Tsu'tey biting the shit out of him. Man does not give a shit at this point.
Tumblr media
When he gets free. (Of course it's a when not an if.) The airship is already long gone. A distant hum in the distance, even to his superior hearing. The pure, unbridled rage on this man's face is terrifying. Instead of explosive, loud anger, he's cold, almost unnervingly calm. A whole new level of terrifying.
Jake is definitely too scared to try and coax him out of the clearing and instead focuses on reassuring his children. Neytiri has to approach him, she's known him the longest afterall. Had stuck with him through the loss of Sylwanin, the fall of HomeTree, the war, she knows how best to handle him when he is like this. That doesn't mean her words are effective however. Tsu'tey needs a moment of stillness to collect his thoughts and recollect himself after the adrenaline burst, but Neytiri is already grabbing him roughly by the bicep and trying and drag him to his ikran.
He's still seething. Barely seeing straight. Half baked plans of him attacking the demon airship before it could get to Bridgehead were sounding more tempting by the moment.
Somehow Neytiri drags him out of the clearing and into the branches of the trees. Hauling his weary body to safer ground. But in his musing, Tsu'tey recalls the figure of Neytiri in the trees when Spider fell. He remembers seeing her dragging Kiri away with half a nod of acknowledgement sent Tsu'tey's way. It sends a fresh wave of rage crashing over him.
"You left him." He suddenly snarled, ripping his arm from her and pointing an accusatory finger at her. "He was right there, and you abandoned him!"
Neytiri's ears droop and she doesn't deny it. She doesn't back down either. "My priority was Kiri. I assumed you could handle it." She doesn't apologise for her actions or inaction. Just holds his gaze and holds her ground. Her expression neutral.
Tsu'tey knew she'd never taken much of a liking to Spider, despite her relationship with Jake and his heritage. Despite Tsu'tey unofficial adoption of the boy. There had always been a sense of hostility between the two. With Neytiri acting colder to Spider and the boy refusing to call her out on it. Tsu'tey had never thought to address it or try and help them mend that gap, now look at them.
And that's the real kick to the teeth. Not that Neytiri didn't care enough to be sorry that it was his kid taken instead of her own. It was the truth in her words that had his anger faltering. He should've been able to handle it. Spider was his son. And he let him slip through his fingers. He should've fought harder, dirtier. Should have resorted to teeth and nails if he had to.
So what if he got shot? If he'd angled it right, he would've had enough time to get Spider to safety.
If it had been Neteyam or Lo'ak in Quartich's hold, Jake would've torn himself apart to ensure their safety. Neytiri would've fallen into a blind rage to keep her children safe. Would have used every resource at her disposal to protect her own. She would have stared death in the face and kept snarling. And what had Tsu'tey done? Allowed a past experience to still his movements. To make him hesitate, and now he might have to pay the price for the rest of his life.
His retort dies on his tongue as his heart clenches painfully. But Tsu'tey had never been one to give up easily. He kept a tight hold on his anger, allowed it to guide him as he shoved past Neytiri and called for his ikran. His face was set in his trademark scowl, but there was a predatory fluidity to him that only came out during the war. When what he loved was threatened.
As his ikran lands beside him and he makes the bond, Lo'ak sidles up to his side, offering him back his knife. There is a familiar fire burning in the depths of the boy's eyes. A desire for vengance, and a sea of guilt and pain. Tsu'tey allows his face to soften for a heartbeat, he bends over the side of his ikran and squeezes Lo'ak's shoulder tight. "I will get him back." He promises.
Lo'ak chews on his lower lip, his eyes flickering to Tsu'tey and holding his burning gaze. He must see Tsu'tey's determination, his drive, his stubbornness, because he cracks a small smile and nods.
The family prepares to return to High Camp. Jake warning Tsu'tey that any attempts to go after Spider now was a suicide mission. He didn't argue, but neither did Tsu'tey agree. He also chose to ignore Neytiri handing Tuk off to him. Just kept his gaze ahead, and his hand loosely wrapped around the little girl's stomach so she was secure in the saddle in front of him.
If they reunited in the forest:
Lets say by chance Tsu'tey gets word of the Demon ship in clan territory again, or he's just riding around the forest on a pa'li because it helps him clear his mind.
He hasn't slept since Spider was taken. He's worried for his boy and severely regretting not letting him know what he meant to him before this shit show got so out of hand. In typical Tsu'tey fashion, he's been spending his time gathering Spider's belongings for when he returns.
Norm had already handed over most of the boy’s prized possessions when Tsu’tey asked for them from his bedroom in the compound. He’d packed everything away neatly in preparation to wherever Jake was planning to flee, so his son would have what he needed the minute he was retrieved. Spare exo pack, rechargeable batteries, etc.
He's in his head so deep, that he takes a double take when he spots Spider through the trees. His pa'li makes an abrupt stop, the large animal mirroring Tsu'tey's shock as he stares wide eyed at the image of his boy stood on a log, above a group of recoms. Even from a distance he can see the bruises. He can see the tense set of his shoulders, his swift glances to the forest, despite pretending to be at ease.
Tsu'tey's shock melts into a scowl as his bow groans under the tightening on his hands. He steels himself with a long, deep inhale, mentally calculating the space within the small clearing. The sight of the guns on the recoms have his heart pounding, and his scars tingling with phantom pain. He knows deep down that his bow will be useless in a one on six fight. His only advantage is surprise, and he only gets one chance.
Tsu'tey's mind is made up before he takes his next breath. He knows he needs to try. Even if it ends with a bullet between his shoulders and his pa'li throwing him off from the pain, he needs to die trying. Whether it kills him or not, he needs to return Spider to the clan, where he will be safe. Where Jake and Neytiri can take him to a fresh start, a safer alternative to the clan at war.
The recoms are distracted. Only one wearing sunglasses is actually taking stock of his surroundings. Spider is talking, commanding most of the group's attention.
Sucking in a deep breath, Tsu'tey lets out a sharp call that could easily be mistaken for some distant herd animal. None of the recoms react but he sees Spider visibly stiffens. Tsu’tey grins despite himself and readies his mount.
He notches an arrow into his bow and urges his pa'li forward. He erupts from the undergrowth with a war cry, and skewers the closest unsuspecting recom. It scatters the group like startled yerik, who immediately scramble for their guns.
"TSU'TEY!" Spider yells, sounding shocked and elated to see him. The hunter spares only a moment killing a second recom before he's charging for that log. His pa'li races past faster than the enemy can load their weapons, and it gives Tsu'tey large enough of an opening to lean down and grab Spider's by his extended hands. The child immediately latches onto him, grabbing whatever he can as Tsu'tey swings him up into the saddle in front of him and together they disappear off into the undergrowth.
Shots were fired at their back but no one got hit, much to Tsu'tey's relief. But the adrenaline rush isn't over because Spider turns around and yells in a rush about a tracker in his mask.
Not to worry though, because Tsu'tey is very up to date on all the old compound location. Even as his triumph sours, he takes confidence in the distant yells of the recoms and the light pressure of Spider at his front. He snarls softly to himself as he makes his pa'li change course.
Yes they get the masks switched out without issue and toss the bugged one into a fast moving river to send Quaritch on a wild goose chase and buy the Sully's more time to run.
Tumblr media
Side note: In this possibility, Tsu'tey was definitely convinced Spider wasn't safe enough with him and he had to go with the Sully's to the Metkayina clan. And Tsu'tey was NOT planning to go with him. HAVE ANGST!!
If they reunited on the Sea Dragon:
In this scenario, Tsu'tey ends up visiting the Sullys when the Sea Dragon turns up. He just wanted to check up on his friends and see if they've heard anything about Spider, and the next thing he knows, he's got nieces and nephews to save, and a score to settle.
Tsu'tey is definitely going straight for the ship.
Tumblr media
It's during the stand-off where the Colonel has his gun to Lo'ak's temple and Jake isn't telling anyone over the comms what is happening - preparing to hand himself over like the idiot he is. Tsu'tey was circling above the clouds on his ikran with Neytiri, carefully listening to his ear piece as he tries to decipher what is going on. The minute he catches sight of Spider being escorted back into the ship, all rational thought leaves this man's head. Of course he has enough sense to remain undetected - he's not stupid - but he's also not on board with Jake's self-sacrificing bullshit. In Tsu'tey's books, failure is not an option this time around. He is getting Spider back if it kills him.
Tsu'tey and Payakan being on the same wavelength.
The tulkun YEETING himself onto the ship's deck and giving Tsu'tey big enough of an opening to land his ikran and send the beast back up into the sky undetected. He makes brief eye contact with Neteyam who's circling the shallows around the belly of the ship, getting ready to leap up and help out his siblings.
The oldest Sully boy points to the kids tied to the railing, Tsu'tey nods. He motions behind him, where the RDA sailors took Spider and Neteyam nods his understanding.
On the horizon, the Metkayina clan are inbound. Tearing through the waves and heading straight for the ship.
Tsu'tey decides that they've got this covered and finds the nearest doorway that will lead him into the belly of the metal ship. He's too tall for the corridors and either has to knuckle crawl or walk at a constant stoop. His bow is a pain to hold loaded in the tight space, so he opts solely for his knife.
Tumblr media
He navigates the ship blindly. His ears pricked for Spider's voice, but otherwise killing anyone he comes across and moving swiftly. He knows the destruction caused by Payakan would've damaged something valuable and he needs to move fast.
I love the idea of Tsu'tey stumbling across the control room in time to find Spider steering the ship towards the rocks and then brutally killing the controls with a fire extinguisher. (Boy was eyeing that lever heavily whenever he was in the same room as it). Just Tsu'tey letting out a half formed growl as the crewmates try to tear Spider away and fix the lever, but his oncoming attack getting put on hold as the enormous ship speeds for the rocks and promptly takes off.
The minute that bitch lands back in the water, you can bet Tsu'tey is the first on his feet. He erupts into the room with a sound so unnerving that the crew forget that they are armed. It's an unfair fight. And despite the tight quarters and being outnumbered, Tsu'tey wipes the floor with everyone.
They find Spider an exopack and get the fuck off the sinking ship to meet back up with the Sullys out on the rock.
Just the crew out cold or dead at his feet, and Tsu'tey closing the distance between himself and Spider. He drops into a crouch, all hard scowl and sharp eyes, and gently tucks Spider's dread behind his ear. "Are you unharmed?"
Spider nods, dumbfounded and thrown off by the raw concern in Tsu'tey's voice. Tsu'tey grumbles. He can see spots of blood all over Spider, small grazes and nicks that shouldn't be there. His stripes are faded and his hair needs a retwist. But he's alive, and Tsu'tey isn't going to let anything else happen to him.
Bonus:
Tumblr media
The standoff:
I feel like throwing Tsu'tey into the mix would throw so many scenes off course with his sheer presence that the stand off between Neytiri and Quaritch where they're holding the kids hostage wouldn't happen. There would be too many variables changing for it to occur the same way, but lets pretend it does.
(Neteyam is alive btw, just resting on his rock with Tsireya kindly mixing him up a poultice she learned from her Tsahik training. Lyle didn't kill him, but Neteyam definitely had to protect Lo'ak's dumbass in some way. That child is accident prone.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, we've got Quaritch holding Kiri hostage. Jake is trying to keep Tuk out of harm's way. No one knows where the fuck Lo'ak is, but he's slippery enough to get himself out of anything. And then we've got Neytiri making a last ditch effort to protect her daughter by threatening to take away the last thing Quaritch loves; Spider.
In the background, we've got Tsu'tey. Breathing hard, slightly wounded from throwing himself around on a ship with broken equipment and guns getting fired at him from all directions.
Raised voices draw his attention. He's standing on the walkway overlooking the deck where the standoff is occurring. He spots Spider first, under Neytiri's blade, begging for Kiri's life instead of his own. Anger like he's never felt before curls hard in his stomach. The betrayal is worse than when Jake and Neytiri first mated. It was one thing to let his son get captured, it was another to murder him right in front of Tsu'tey.
Kiri's voice stops Tsu'tey from doing anything stupid in his blind rage. Every molecule of his body screams to defend his child, but common sense makes him take in the situation.
His head snaps to Quaritch holding Kiri hostage. To Jake within arms reach, but preoccupied with Tuk. To the knife drawing blood at Kiri's neck.
Tsu'tey also takes note of the clear shot he has from his vantage point. There is no conflict within him as he notches his bow. No concern for Spider's reaction, or the conflicted feelings he might have towards his birth father. Tsu'tey's mind is clear. His hands are steady. And his mind is made up.
He takes the shot, and nail's the recom through his right eye. The arrow - fired with all the strength he could muster - goes straight through bone and wedges in up to two thirds of its shaft.
Quaritch sways for a heartbeat, his knife clattering to the metal deck as Kiri tears away from him and throws herself at Jake. Then he collapses with a painful thump. Limps sprawling and his head lolling.
Slowly, Tsu'tey lowers his bow, his gaze narrowed and his tail whipping behind him. He catches Neytiri's eyes as the huntress and her family follow the direction the arrow had come from.
"Unhand. My. Son." Tsu'tey snarls, his voice ringing out over the soft crash of the waves and the pop of fire. His gaze is venomous, fingers twitching for another arrow if Neytiri doesn't back down. There's still a crazed edge to her gaze, a look Tsu'tey is sure he shares. He hasn't felt this shaken since Spider was taken.
Neytiri nods once. An acknowledgment. And lets Spider go.
His son stumbles away, furiously scrambling to put distance between himself and Neytiri. Kiri was quick to soothe him, check him for injuries as Jake carefully approached Neytiri to take the knife off of her.
Tsu'tey leaps down from the upper level. He can't be bothered to find the stairs and the height is nothing compared to what he has to deal with back in the forest. He keeps an eye on Neytiri, but knows that Jake has her now. Ears pricked in case of further enemies, Tsu'tey spares a few moments to kick Quaritch's corpse and make sure he fired a killing shot. The last thing he needed was to grow comfortable again and then in fifteen years have to deal with this bullshit all over again.
"Dad?" The quiet utterance has panic straightening his spine. It's not one of his nieces asking for Jake's attention. It's Spider's voice. Quiet and shaky and so vulnerable that Tsu'tey just wants to wrap himself up in his arms.
Instead, all he can think about is Quaritch's body at his feet. Tsu'tey's arrow protruding from his eye socket. His blood pooling at his feet.
Then it hits him all at once. Spider's birth dad is dead at his feet, and Tsu'tey put him there. Tsu'tey killed him. He didn't even ask. Spider spent months with this man - against his will - but not everything is black and white. They might have come to some understanding. He might of grown to know him outside of his video logs and the fleeting stories he overheard from the Omaticaya. Spider may have gotten to know Quaritch without the biased lense of hate everyone else talks about him with. And Tsu'tey murdered him. What's worse, he felt triumphant doing it.
Tsu'tey can feel his hands shaking, regardless of how tightly he grasped his bow. His ears were flat against his skull, his tail tucked in close to his legs. He prays he just looks like he's reflecting, in contrast to being crushed by the weight of his actions. And he keeps staring at Quaritch's corpse. The arrow. The blood.
"Dad?" Spider says again. A little louder. More confident. And it kills Tsu'tey as he cringes, eyes squeezing shut against the guilt.
A brush of a hand to his wrist. His eyes snap open, and there's Spider. Gazing up at him with wide, tearful eyes. His mask is slightly cracked and he's bleeding from his chest where Neytiri caught him with her blade. But there is no hatred in his expression. Only relief and exhaustion.
"Dad, are you okay?" Spider asks him, and he looks at Tsu'tey as he says it.
The realisation hits him like a sturmbeest stampede. That Spider was calling him Dad, not the corpse at his feet.
With a deep, shuddering breath, Tsu'tey pulls himself together. "I am." He reassures his son as he drops into a crouch. It is evident from Spider's expression that he doesn't believe him, but the boy doesn't push.
Instead, he throws his arms around Tsu'tey's neck and burries his face under his chin. Tsu'tey chuckles wetly, his arms wrapping around Spider and dragging him close. It soothes every raw instinct in him to finally have his boy back in his arms. Tired and injured, but safe.
Around him, he can hear the Sully family beginning to wade into the surf, so Tsu'tey tucks his arms under Spider's thighs and hoists him up onto his hip, like he used to when his son was still a toddler. Despite his age now, he's still the perfect size for Tsu'tey to carry unhindered out of the shipwreck.

You Could’ve Died: Tonowari
Avatar Masterlist
word count: 800
Request:  tonowari x reader: Maybe the reader is a great warrior and has a near-death experience that scares tf out of her mate and kids
Tumblr media
The second you heard that your kids were in danger from defending a Tulkan, you wasted no time in grabbing your spears and following Jake and Neytiri as someone went to find your husband and tell him what was going on. You climbed on your Skimwing and followed Jake out to where the demon shop was, where you saw your kids tied up making your hiss, as your kids were your entire world and if something happened to them, you would never forgive yourself.
You dove underwater and swam around to the backside of the ship and climbed aboard, where Jake's kids saw you and you motioned for them to be quiet as you ran up and cut the first guy's neck before untying them.
"Go to your parents' now." You said to them as they thanked you.
You continued to make your way through the ship killing each one of these people who dared take any of the children. Your husband arrived at the scene worried about his kids and you, but he knew that once the kids were in danger, these guys stood no chance. He watched as one of the guys aimed a gun at you while you were untying your daughter, so he threw his spear, killing him instantly as you turned and smiled at him.
"Thank you." You mouthed to him as he smiled at you as you finished untying your daughter.
"Let's go, Mama!" Your daughter said pulling on your arm as you saw that Jake and Neytiri were still struggling.
"Mama she right, we should get out of here." Tsierya said to you.
"Go to your father. Jake and Neytiri need my help. I'll be right behind you. I love you." You said to them as you placed a kiss on each of their heads.
Your husband couldn't understand what you were doing until he saw you helping the sully's and sent your daughters home which they didn't like knowing that both of their parents were in danger but he couldn't leave you.
You both helped the sully's rescue their kids and fight off the RDA. You were getting ready to leave when you saw Quaritch aim his gun at Neyetam, and without a second thought, you pushed him out of the way, feeling the bullet pierce your skin.
"NO!" Tono screamed watching you fall, as he swam over to where you were.
"Check for an exit wound!" Jake said as he swam over to where you two were, Tono lifted you and let out a sigh of relief when he didn't see one.
"There isn't one." He said holding you in his arms.
"We need to get that bullet out of her skin, as soon as possible." Jake said to Tono who nodded his head.
"Tono my love is that you?" You asked sleepily reaching for your husband's hand.
"Yeah, it's me, my love. Your gonna be okay, we're gonna get you some help, okay?" He said as you nodded your head.
By the time you guys returned back home, you were out cold as Tonowari carried you to the healer's tent to get help, and your kids became worried when they saw him carrying your unconscious body.
"OUT! ALL OF YOU!" The healer screamed as Tonowari took his kids outside of the tent, promising that you were gonna be okay, even if he wasn't sure himself.
It was about three hours later when the healers finally came out and said that they removed the bullet and you were now sleeping. Your husband walked into the tent and smiled at the sight of you sleeping and breathing. He placed a kiss on your forehead and took a seat next to you and held your hand until the healers kicked him out for the night.
"Daddy wake up, mama's awake." Your youngest daughter said shaking him.
"Come on dad, wake up. Mom's asking for you." A'onung said groaning as he tried waking him up earning a groan from him.
"Alright, I'm up!" He said as your children dragged or attempted to over to the healer's tent where you and Tsierya were at.
Your husband smiled when he saw you sitting up and holding your daughter, you sent him a smile back as your other two children came running over to you.
"Took you long enough." You said to him as he placed a kiss on your lips.
"Glad to see your awake, how are you feeling?" He asked you lacing his hand with yours.
"My shoulder hurts a bit but other than I feel fine. How are you guys doing?" You asked him.
"Better now that your awake, we were all a mess after what you did." He said to you making you sigh.
"I'm sorry I just couldn't let something happen to Neyetam, all I kept thinking if what was one of our kids, and they were in our situation." You said looking at him.
"I know you couldn't. I just can't imagine a world without you in it." Tonowari said kissing your hand.
"Good thing, you don't have to, my love." You said squeezing his hand with a smile.

@marahisthebest @sofysofiasofi @kassada @automaticwizardnerd @fourcefulcupid @anbanananna Enjoy!
Positive. You were positive on your third pregnancy test. You didn't know if it was possible but you were in fact pregnant with Quaritch's child. That could only be the case, he’s the only person you’ve been with for the past year.
Tears of joy brimmed in your eyes when the realization of a child was growing inside you and the fact it was his. You had to tell him, you wanted to tell him right now, but he was at work right now. So you waited until Miles came home, which was late in the evening. For this special occasion, you decided to make his favorite meal for dinner, Gumbo. A meal that takes him back to his hometown.
By the time you finished making dinner, you heard the door open to hear familiar footsteps.
"I'm home." Hearing his southern drawl of a voice again made you jump in excitement. You set the plates down and came to him with open arms. He immediately crouched down to hug you, his tail swinging back and forth.
Within a few seconds the aroma of spices and fresh meat filled his nose. "Is that Gumbo I'm smelling?"
You nodded your head. "Uh, huh."
He titled his head as his ears moved down. "Aw, thank you, baby." He kissed your forehead. "How ya doin’?"
"Good." You smiled but you couldn't hide the excitement bursting inside you. You smiled in a way that lets him know you're happy about something else but he didn't know what. Whatever it is, he was glad to come home and see you bright and happy.
"What's going on?" He smiled softly. "Did something happen?"
You didn't want to delay it any further so you just blurted out.
"..I'm pregnant." You looked at him carefully to see his reaction.
His eyes widened and ears perked up the moment you said 'pregnant'. He stood there frozen, his face deep in thought. He thinks back to the last time he saw Spider, after the battle of the sea dragon. He remembers when he was standing by his Irkan, injured, and reaching his hand out to Spider, hoping that he’ll come back with him to base. But instead Spider gave him a vicious hiss as his goodbye and jumped in the water and swam away. Quaritch was too injured to try and get him back and so he flew back to base on his Ikran.
It was at this moment that Miles knew that he can’t and will never have the father-son relationship he wanted. No matter how hard his memories demanded him to be with Spider, his attempts of reconnecting with his son failed.
And now here he was, at home with you and you telling him you were pregnant with his child. Could this be his chance of having a family again? Could he recreate what was broken? Were you willing to make a life with him?
"..Is this true, baby?" He said in a hoarse tone, like he couldn't believe what he just heard.
You nodded eagerly. "Yes!"
In less of a second, he lifted you up and wrapped his tail around your thigh, careful to not squeeze you. He was the happiest man alive on this planet.
"..Oh, darlin’, thank you." He smiled fondly at you and kissed you as he spoke words of endearment.
"..Thank you."
One year has passed since the birth of your son, Jason. He was born healthy and appeared as a full human baby. No tail or blue skin but he did have his father’s eyes, which was the only unusual thing about him but you didn’t care, you loved him all the same. As long as he was healthy and functioning well, that’s all it mattered to you. You couldn’t say the same for Miles in the beginning.
When Jason was born, Miles was overjoyed but when the baby opened his eyes, his eyes held the same color as his father. Golden orbs with cat-like pupils. They were Na'vi eyes and it did not sit well with Miles. Quaritch being surprised was an understatement. He wasn’t happy, he was displeased. He honestly thought that his human characteristics would be enough to pass his children as fully human. But who was he kidding, he's a 9,5ft blue alien. It’s a miracle (to him) that his child looked mostly human.
You remembered the look he made when he saw his child open his eyes for the first time. He looked like he saw something that was wrong with your baby and it worried you. "What's wrong?" You asked him.
"He's got..” He hesitated but his memories of his past life got the better of him. “He's got those hostile eyes." He frowned.
You your lips pursed. "...Hostile?!" You whispered yelled to not scare the baby. "How could you say that about our son?" You wish you could get out of the bed and smack him but your body was still too exhausted from the labor. "You better think about your next words carefully, Quaritch."
That name. You rarely ever use that name and when you did it struck through Miles and it made him think.
Was he really upset about it? Could it be his memories of hating the Na’vi transcend onto his own son? He felt disgusted with himself with this notion. From that moment, he had a change of heart, and promised to love the child you've created with him.
He says nothing and you took that silence to heart, making the floodgates open. You started crying and this time it wasn't out of the pain you endured to bring your son into this world or the moment you saw your son for the first time, it was because the love of your life, your partner, your husband, didn't accept the baby you've made. And It hurt you.
Miles saw the hurt in your eyes and immediately regretted what he said. He carefully put Jason down on the hospital crib and approached you slowly.
“..Baby, I’m sorry.” You could hear the guilt in his voice and it made you cry even harder. He wrapped his arms around you without crushing you as best as he could. He felt such a dick at the moment.
He took your hands gently into his, rubbing the knuckles of your hands with his thumb. “I was being an asshole and I shouldn’t have said all that bullshit.”
You nodded as you wiped off the tears on your face.“..Okay.”
When he was close enough to your face, you took that opportunity to grab his ears and yank them down hard. You could’ve grabbed his queue but you didn’t want him to hurt that badly so you settled with his ears.
“..Shit-” He winced, fighting the urge to pull you off because he knows he deserves it. “Ow, ow, ow! Okay, I get it, damn it!”
“Serves you right.”
It was the beginning of January, the year was 2173. You were at home in your room, holding your son in your arms. He was fast asleep when you put him back on the crib, watching him sleep peacefully. You hear small footsteps come behind you and you turned around to see Quaritch duck his head under the door.
He pouts as he touches the back of his ears.
He puts his hand on your shoulder.  "Is he asleep?" He whispered quietly.
"Yeah," You whispered back. "He sleeps so easily."
He chuckled. "Just like his old man."
You chuckled as well when the both of you left the room, closing the door quietly.
Unexpectedly, Miles lifted you up and carried you to the living room, you didn't even gasp. He's done this enough times for you to get used to it. He just likes picking you up since you're so small in size.
He sits on the couch with you on top of him, all nice and snuggled. It may be the beginning of the new year, but it was still a bit cold and Miles was a natural furnace as always.
You take the remote control and flip through channels until you settle on channel 13, a random animal documentary displaying on the TV screen. You did not expect to see a pair of lions seemingly horny and about to mate but you were curious enough to not switch the channel immediately.
“Lionesses are receptive to mating for three or four days within their reproductive cycle. During this time a male will mate every 20–30 minutes and can mate up to 50 times a day."  The camera zooms in on a female lion lying down with a male behind her, positioning himself to mate with her. You see Miles' tail moves in excitement as the two of you watch the two animals begin mating with each other.
"It is known that mating sessions last less than a minute so the male can copulate many times a day."
It's only been a minute since you sat down and watched some TV and already you feel him touch your thighs, letting you know exactly what he's thinking about. You can't help but lean back into his chest to hear him whisper into your ear, smiling against you.
"..Baby, let's make another one," His hands go under your shirt and shorts." I promise I'll last longer than a lion." He grinned at you and you couldn't help but chuckle. “What'd ya say, sweetcakes?" He kisses your ear, biting it gently with his fang.
The way he said that sends waves of arousal to your already wet pussy. Welp, there goes your cervix again.
"That depends." You whispered back. "Are you sure you want me to have a big belly and bigger tits again?"
You know by now that he would say yes but you want him to say it anyway.
He wrapped his tail around your thigh to keep you from going anywhere and without hesitation he said. "Anyday."
"Then come give it to me big daddy." You smirked in anticipation.
You didn't have to say it twice. His hands slip under your shorts and panties, his fingers graze against your lips, wetness coating them instantly. You heard him groan in delight behind you.
"Damn, yer so wet, sweetheart. You really want another one, don'cha?" He dips his large digits inside you, making you curl your toes and cry out in pleasure.
"..Fuck." You whimpered. "..Y-yes."
You hear an amused hum, a low vibration that comes from his throat and spreads to you. He slides his other hand under your shirt. You weren’t wearing a bra so he grabbed your breasts and massaged them with ease as he curled his fingers inside you. It is true that his hands are large to hold your breasts but that doesn't stop him from fondling it.
He whispered to you as if you two weren’t alone. "Feels good doesn't it, baby?" He said with a mix of love and lust tinting his voice. It didn’t take long for his fingers to reach your G-spot, making your legs tremble in indescribable pleasure. You moan and squirm but Quaritch is strong enough to hold you down without delaying the pleasure you’re feeling. Once he's gathered enough wetness, he starts rubbing your clit in circular motions.
The pleasure was beginning to become too much that you couldn’t control the volume of your voice. "..Yes, please, please don't stop! Don't-"
"Sh-ssh," He hushed you, pausing his movements to slow you down. "You don't wanna wake the baby, do ya?"
Of course not. It was one of your big hurdles that you and Miles learned to fuck more quietly snice you were a vocal woman and the fact Quaritch reached your cervix every time you guys made love.
He returns back to fingering you and this time you tried to moan quietly as best you could. "Here we go," He cooed softly. "That’s my good girl."
“..Fuck, I’m cumming.” You cried as your hips wiggled.
“Yes, yes, that’s right, babygirl. Keep goin’, cum into my hands.”
And as if on command you came on his fingers. Hot spurts of cum drenched into his hands and you're still shaking from the unstoppable fingering he's doing to you. And as you continue cumming, he praises you, switching between 'good girl' and 'that's my good girl', as if you can't get more aroused. He releases his tail around your thigh.
When your high fell down, you sat up and turned around to face him. “..Let me ride you,” You whispered to him breathlessly.
He takes off his tank top but leaves his dog tag on. “M’kay, baby. Whatever you say.”
“With your queue.”
His brows rose in surprise. “What?”
“I want to try putting your queue, erm, inside me or just rubbing it against it.”
“..Sweetheart,” He sighed. “Y’know this is a Na’vi thing,  I dunno if it’ll work the same way with humans, let alone be harmless to ya.”
“..I know but I trust you. I won’t ask again if you say you don’t want to.”
“Fine, we can try it but I’ll be the one who puts it on.”
You smiled at him. “Yes, daddy.” You spread your legs and used your fingers to spread your wet pussy lips, hoping to entice him.
"Who knew you're such a dirty li'l girl." He grabs the end of his braid and holds his queue out, the pink tendrils moving upwards in a continuous motion. You watched him carefully move his queue closer to your wet folds, making you anxious at the sight of it reaching closer to your privates.
As it gets closer, the tips of it touch your outer lips, it does nothing but keep moving as it did before. He brings it up to your clit and this time your body shudders in pleasure at the contact of it. “A-ah!” You moaned. “..M-miles, fuck.”
His ears perked at the tingle he just felt. “You feelin’ good, baby?”
“Yes,” You breathed. “..Put it deeper into me.”
He gave you a silent nod as he brought the tip down to your wet entrance. Within seconds, the soft tendrils latched into your inner walls, instantly making you feel its pulse. The both of you breathe deeply in unison, the sensation of feeling each other’s body for the first time overwhelms you both. You didn’t think it was possible at all but it was. You didn’t need to be an avatar or recom to experience this intimate moment, the ability to feel someone else’s body.
“Oh, my god, Miles...” You close your eyes as you take in this otherworldly sensation.
“Holy shit,” He chuckled in amazement. “Baby, are you feelin' this?”
You nodded. “..Yes, I can feel you.” You touch his large hands as you smile, a brief look of content painted on your face. “I can feel your breathing, your pulse.” A perverted smile surfaced on your face as you felt something more intense and erotic. “And how incredibly hard you are right now.”
“Me too, cupcake.” He chuckled. “I can literally feel yer pussy throbbin’ right now.” He now senses your body's need to be filled.
“You still wanna ride on my dick, huh?” He lays down on his back as his queue stays attached to you. “God, yes.”  You crawl over to him and lift yourself as you take his length into your hands and align it carefully to your entrance, lowering yourself slowly.
With how slick and horny you are, his cock slipped inside you easily and did not interfere with the connection between you and his queue.
“..Christ,” He groaned and it was unlike anything you heard of him. “Ho, baby girl.” He can't believe what he was experiencing at the moment. He can feel himself stretching you and how good it feels to you.
It was a spiritual and intimate experience the two of you were sharing together and all the while you looked so sexy while you’re on top.
“Fuckin’ gorgeous.” He muttered to himself.
The tip of it kisses your cervix and you cry out. “Ah, r-right there, Miles.” He grins at the sight of your expression, with the addition of him feeling you stretched to the hilt. "Look at you, desperate to take my cock again. You want to take my cum again, huh, princess?"
You start to bounce, lifting your hips up and down as your tits move in the same motion. "Yes, yes, daddy!"
"Mnn, and be bred again?"
"F-fuck, yes, please. Cum in me," You cried. "Gimme your cum, please!"
"Mnn, you just always know what to say, babygirl. You take me so well, always so snug around me. It's like you were made to be bred by me."
The praises and dirty words made you shiver in arousal. You bent your body over as you buried your head to his chest, his hands gripped your ass while the other was planted firmly on your small back. Miles groaned as he lifted his hips and thrusted deep inside you, his movements making you cling to him tightly.
"Mmm, yes, baby, just like that. Keep it comin’, mama. Daddy’s gonna fill you up nice and good. Soon you're gonna be so full of cum and when you get pregnant, I'll just keep cummin’ inside ya every night."
And before you were about to say something, Miles felt through his queue you were about to cum soon.
"..Fuck, I'm gonna cum, daddy." You cried to his chest, holding on to it as best as you could while your pussy was getting wrecked. The TV remained on but the sounds of groaning and whimpers and the lewd sounds of skin against skin were louder.
"Come on, babygirl, cum for me." You hear him growl, that's when you know his instincts are kicking in. "Cum for daddy." He smacked your ass.
"A-ah, AH, Miles, please!"  You chanted his name like he was your savior, switching between ‘daddy’ and ‘Miles’ until you lost the ability to speak.
“That’s right. Cum.” He pounds below you hard as you whimper. “Cum on daddy’s dick..”
And before he said anything else, you felt his cock throb through the queue, hinting he was about to explode and the sensation itself made you want to release yourself.
"Shit, baby, I'm cummin’-" He grunts as his thrusts become brutal. "Daddy’s comin’,M fuck-"
For the first time in months, you came at the same time together. The two of you shudder in heavenly bliss, your pussy clamps around him so tightly as hot cum rushed inside you. You’ve never cried so loudly and you’ve never cummed this much, maybe it had to do with the queue.
He gives out a few last thrusts before he stops and stays inside you. The both of you are out of breath, hugging each other as you let the afterglow of sex take over you too.
When your high faded, you sat up and took his softened dick out of you, a thread of cum spilling out of you.
..You’re so getting pregnant after this. You thought to yourself.
You looked down to see the queue still attached to you. A grin surfaced on your face as an idea popped into your mind.
"Hey, Miles." You grabbed the tuft of hair on his queue and flatten it onto the front of your vulva. "..Look at my hairy pussy." You smirked as you looked at him funny.
His ear drooped down and his lips curled into a smug smirk and before you know it he bursted into laughter. You know he's always had a dirty sense of humor and it was one of the reasons why you two connected with each other, with queue or not.
"Nga yawne lu oer." He says to you in Na'vi.
You’re not fluent in Na’vi but you know enough to understand what he said to you, so you said, “Nga yawne lu oer nìteng.” with a smile.

you were precious. being the youngest of mo’at and eytukan, you always wanted to make your parents smile. rather it be helping mother with in the healers tent, or helping father from the ikrans, you were whatever they needed, and the people appreciated the assistance.
when hometree was destroyed and neytiri chose the dreamwalker jakesully, you stood by your mother, continuing to offer her help where she needed.
years later, when the people moved up to high camp with jakesully’s human friends, you were given more free time than you had previously. you opted for flies with your ikran pu’ti whenever you had the chance, not returning until just before eclipse. or you’d take walks, feeling the happiness in the beautiful lush as you felt eywa’s embrace.
you skipped across the thick branches of the trees, reciting your songcord as you went.
snap.
your ears twitched as you quieted, dropping low against the branch as you looked for what made the sound.
it was a na’vi..no.. another dreamwalker. you scowled silently, mumbling a soft ‘vrrtep’ - demon, under your breath. yet, no matter how much you detested the humans, you couldn’t take your eyes away from the false na’vi. the imposter was tall.. wearing strange clothes and one of those things jake calls a gun. as your eyes trailed upwards, your breath stopped. he was gorgeous..much prettier than any of the na’vi you’ve seen before. you tilted your head towards your extended foot, silently questioning how he was so pretty.
the man you dubbed sayrìp - handsome, pressed his large hand to his neck, mumbling the alien language before taking a scan of his surroundings before retreating.
letting out a breath you never knew you were holding, you quietly scampered away.
Tumblr media
you didn’t see sayrìp for a while, but you couldn’t get him out of your head. his scent, his face, his voice.. you couldn’t get him to leave your thoughts.
“ there you are, sister.. ” you turned your head, looking at you sister, a gentle smile gracing your face.
“ neytiri, hi! ” you replied, standing to allow your sister to wrap you in a hug,
“ you look troubled..what is it? ” you tilted your head, had you really been moping because you haven’t seen your favorite demon in a week? you shook your head, blaming your mood on not going out to the forest in a while.
“ hm, well, if you are not busy until eclipse, mother has said it is okay for you to go. ” your ears perked up, the muscles above your eyes lifting.
“ really? ” you hugged your sister again, not waiting for confirmation before you called your ikran, running deep into the woods.
there he was, he was different, he felt different.. his pants were shorter, the coverings he wore on his feet were gone and he-
“ i know y’re here. ” your thoughts halted instantly, you looked down at the demon, expression filled with shock and a hint of confusion.
“ why d’nt you c’mon out, hm? ” you glanced around, as if you were searching your brain for the translations to the words he said. eyes narrowed, you made your way down the tree, approaching him from behind with your head low, eyes scanning him. sayrìp turned quickly, you jumped back, unsheathing your blade and holding it defensively.
“ woah-ho easy there cupcake, m’not gonna hurt ya. ” sayrìp held his hands up non-threateningly. you paused, blinking as you translated. you lowered the knife, but you didn’t put it away. you stepped closer to the man, steps slow and careful as you circled him as if you were checking what he was. unbeknownst to him, you were just checking him out from a closer radius.
“ y’like what’cha see? ” maybe he did know. you put your knife away slowly, still eyeing him skeptically.
“ why are you here? ” you hiss, speaking english to sayrìp. the man smirked,
“ why did you not kill me. ” you bit back at him, avoiding answering his question. the man shifted on his heels, his golden eyes taking in your form. it was only then that you realized how fast your heart was beating. the man lifted his arms, you didn’t see what he was doing before you were backing up, drawing your blade again.
“ ‘m just putting this down.. we can talk then. ” you watch him carefully as he strips himself of the weapon, when what he said turned out to be true, you relaxed, your tail no longer swaying cautiously, but rather with curiosity. the man lifts his arms out, displaying he is not a threat. slowly, you stepped towards him, your eyes trailing up his arm to look at the patch of black on his shoulder. you kept looking, trying to tip toe to see over his shoulder. he turned his head to you,
“ y’wanna sit? ” a smirk tugged at the corner of his lip, his fangs showing. you nodded once, translating still as hard with the strange way he speaks. the man sits, criss crossed in front of you, allowing you room to do the same. you settled, but you didn’t sit all the way, kneeling in front of him. heart pounding in your ears, you leaned closer to his face. the pattern of the stripes on his cheek, his tanhí starting to shine, the weird hair on his forehead.. you outstretched your first finger, curling the other two into your palm, poking at it. he shuts an eye,
“ peu- w- what is this. ” you ask him in english. he chuckles, looking at you with a weird look, your forehead creases and you pull away from him slightly.
“ my.. eyebrow..? ” you repeat the word back to him,
“ eye-brow.. what is it for? ” you tilted your head and shifted to across him, you didn’t pay attention to his response when you poked at his ear, eyes widening. you lifted your other hand to hold at one of your ears, double checking to see if your thought was right.
“ what’s y’r name? ”
“ your ears is short. why. ” you didn’t hear his question, your attention still on his ears, he raises his shoulders. you blinked at him, waiting for his response. he shook his head, waving his hand, which you grabbed onto.
“ y’r name, what is it? ” you pulled at his fourth finger,
“ yn. ” you said, accepting that his fourth finger is just like jake’s. you dropped his hand, it landing in his lap with a thud.
“ miles. ” your forehead creased as you took a shot at pronouncing it,
“ m- my-less.. ” he coughed, turning away from you to cover his mouth as he laughed. “ mi-less. ” he cleared. his throat before looking back at you,
“ my ” you lowered your head as you repeated,
“ my ”
“ ulls. ” you turned your head in confusion, but repeated anyways,
“ ulls. ” he lifted his hands and pushed them together.
“ miles. ” you both said in unison.
“ there y’go pumpkin! ” he smiled brightly, hand coming to squeeze your cheeks. your would have matched his if your cheeks weren’t smushed. you didn’t realize how close you were to him until you felt his breath on your nose. it twitched, you looked up at his eyes, they were slightly narrowed, taking in your face. your breathing was slow when it should have been fast, your mind was fuzzy when it should have been clear, you were leaning in when you should have been pulling away.
you trusted him.
you both were dangerously close..breaths tangling a forbidden dance, one that should never be.. so why did it feel so right? his lips were on yours, you kissed him back. a large four fingered hand goes to the back of your head, deepening the kiss and not giving you a moment to thing before his other hand went around your waist.
you pulled way, heat racing and breathing fast. it was nearly eclipse..you didn’t have much time before it was here. you pulled away from him fully, rising to your feet. he stood with you, utterly confused.
“ eclipse.. bye. ” you stepped away and called out to your ikran. turning back to him, you spoke again. “ tomorrow? ” he was still confused, but he agreed. you mounted pu’ti and flew off towards the village.
when you dismounted your ikran, kiri greeted you first with a,
“ mom has been looking for you ” your ears flattened against your head as you realized you weren’t as fast as you thought you were. you gave pu’ti a gentle rub to his snout before following behind kiri.
“ you smell weird. ” your head snapped to your niece, eyes widening. sayrìp..that skxawng. your tail flicked anxiously as you heard neyriti’s voice in conversation with jake. you took a breath before making yourself known,
“ yn! eywa, where have you been?! ” you lower your head and wince, mumbling a soft apology, ears disappearing against your hair. “ and why do you smell.. ” your eyes widened and you sucked in a quick breath, “ weird? ” you slightly relaxed, finally looking up at your sister to make some excuse you found something and was checking it out. it wasn’t a lie, just not the full truth.. if neytiri noticed, she didn’t make it known to you, but jake did. his eyes were narrowed at you, thinking - like he knew exactly what you were doing. you excused yourself and exited their abode, finally being able to breathe.
on your sleeping mat that night, you couldn’t help your mind running right back to miles.. he was so large, so pretty..but he was demon.. your mother, y- your sister would fall over dead before they ever approved such a union.. but why did it feel like you belonged beside him, like eywa herself has pushed you two together.
the day you promised to meet miles at the same spot, you were growing antsy by the end of. your duties, moving much faster than you normally move. you were excited, but for good measure, you groomed the ikrans before taking off on your own.
when you made it to the clearing, you saw him already waiting. when he saw you, he discarded his gun, setting it in the dirt once again. he greeted you, lowering his head and tapping two fingers to his forehead before extending them to you,
“ oel nati kameie, yn ” your eyes widened in surprise, but you repeated the gesture,
“ oel ngaati kameie, miles. ” you giggled, “ you said it wrong. ” his eye-brows pulled together in confusion,
“ ngaati, no nati. ” you said, taking a seat beside him.
it was nice with miles, sure the obvious language barrier was a thing, but you two made due. day after day, you taught miles something and he taught you something. you did your best to keep the budding relationship under wraps until the day you couldn’t - the day you didn’t return home after eclipse, the day that you and miles chose each other.
“ tsaheylu. the bond, it joins creatures and mated pairs. ” you watched as he pulled his kuru - neutral queue, from behind him and held it in front of yours. his eyes looked into yours, waiting for your next move. you looked back, eyes not leaving his as you pressed your tendrils closer, his own pulling yours closer almost impatiently. your eyes. closed as a shiver ran up your spine, knocking your breathing off it’s rhythmic pace. you didn’t leave miles’ arms that night. he was your safe place, your home, your mate.
Tumblr media
you were beyond anxious when you returned to the village, you couldn’t face anyone right now, you had to align your thoughts.
“ yn! ” you flinched before turning around to see jake. with your heart pounding in your chest, you greeted the olo’eyktan, but before you could ask him what he wanted, he told you, “ you should have stopped when neytiri asked you why you smelled funny. ” your breathing was shaky as you tried to think of a response, an excuse - anything.
“ he’s an outsider yn! you think i wouldn’t know his scent? ” you stopped trying to reply, hanging your head low. you were the youngest of mo’at and eytukan.. you always did what was best for the people..yet, the one time you try to do what is the best for you, you get in trouble. when you finally pulled yourself out of your head, jake’s four fingered hand was around your bicep, pulling you to the tent he shared with his family.
“ kids, excuse us. ” neteyam and kiri exchanged a look to each other and lo’ak looked at you, raising his eye-brows in confusion. with indistinguishable expressions, they left, leaving. you, jake and neytiri in the tent.
“ ma jake, what is happening? ” you didn’t know when jake released your shoulder, but he was standing near neytiri now.
“ yn here has something to tell us. ” your heart stopped and your blood ran cold. tell my sister? neytiri turned to you, ears perked and her tail low.
“ yn? ” you sucked in a breath, taking a step backwards to be out of her immediate reach.
“ i..i met a man..a demon. ” neytiri hissed at the thought, and you felt the tears already pooling, threatening to make you blind. “ we’re bonded before eywa.. ”
jake wasn’t thinking that. the colonel miles quaritch.
“ quaritch? you’re mated with quaritch? of all the talented warriors in the clan, you choose the asshole who destroyed home tree?! ” jake cursed, neytiri was struggling to control her tongue, her eyes narrowed on your frame. she closed her eyes, letting out a breath - a feeble attempt to calm herself - before speaking,
“ yn- ” you cut her off, immediately defending your mate,
“ he’s not bad! he’s not what you think he is.. he- we- he has never harmed me.. he is different that that man! ” you huff,
“ why do you think so? ” neytiri asked, her ears slowly lowering. she was willing to see it through your eyes.
“ he’s different..he has the human memories, but not the human feelings.. he. does not want to hurt the people.. i saw it all through tsaheylu.. eywa has chosen him for me. ” you paused, looking back at your older siblings. “ please..he is not bad. ” you watched them debate with each other. with a locked jaw and a sigh, jake nodded at neytiri.
“ you must teach him like i did. you must tell mother. you must be careful, yn. ” your shoulders dropped the tension in the room, tears finally spilling over as you threw yourself into your sister’s arms.
“ thank you, tsmuke.. ” sister. you purred.
if you could get your sister’s approval, there was no reason why you couldn’t get your mother’s. you mumbled a thank you to the great mother. for these last few moons will shape the rest of your life to come.

series masterlist part 1
pairing: neteyam x fem!metkayina!reader
series summary: with the death of quaritch, the sullys return to the forest. not wanting to make your mate part with his family for your sake, you decide to come with them. how will the return of his responsibilities as the future olo’eyktan affect your relationship?
BEFORE READING: characters are aged up 2 years! no explicit content! this follows the movie EXCEPT: it takes quaritch 1 1/2 years to find him and he dies in the final battle! that’s it!!! hope we all have fun (2.3k)
Coming to live with the Sullys in the forest was an easy decision to make.
In the 2 years that the family lived with your clan, you found yourself sharing lives with their eldest son. Giving him pieces of yourself and receiving bits of him back.
It started with tales from Ao’nung and Tsireya.
Words of admiration slipping Ao’nung’s lips in passing, Tsireya commending his ability to keep his siblings in check, and your mother’s warnings to stay away from the newcomers just in case they end up turning their backs on the clan.
You never really found the family all that interesting, always preferring to keep to familiar faces. Even when the children you look after talked in hushed voices, telling stories of the great Toruk Makto, or when your own best friend gushes about the family’s youngest son, or when you’re tending to your friend’s face after a fight with said family.
The only time a member of their family ever held your interest was when you caught the eldest son with his ikran.
And as if to make up for the lack of interest you’ve had with the family so far, you find yourself gaping in amazement at the sight of the majestic beast.
The things that change the world, according to Chaos theory, are the tiny things. A butterfly flaps its wings in the Amazonian jungle, and subsequently a storm ravages half of Europe.
Yoki–the name of his ikran–flaps her wings and a part of you blames it on her.
You stood in his vicinity a moment too long. He glances your way and a part of you finds it comically hilarious everytime you remember the moment. Was staying still really all it took for this much to change?
Did it really only take the briefest of moments for you to get involved with a family you were previously so uninterested in?
It was almost like a switch was flipped after that. Encounters with the family becoming a regular occurrence, how did it come to this? You always ask yourself. Was it your subconscious? Were you gravitating towards them? Did another butterfly flap its wings?
Later, when you’ve gotten significantly closer, he tells you that he isn’t that unlucky, that his nets didn’t break by chance, that his belongings didn’t just go missing, that his siblings didn’t just happen to be around your area looking for their brother.
“It’s not the universe’s doing, my love. I saw you, got captivated and was filled with the overwhelming need to always be near you,”
Many nights have been spent like this, you sharing your fascination with fate and him telling you he would have found another way to talk to you even if you walked away at that moment.
Falling in love with him means learning to love his family as he does.
It’s holding Tuk’s hands when the storm gets too bad, even when all you want to do is curl into a ball and gently rock yourself to sleep.
It’s awkwardly patting his younger brother’s back when he and Tsireya have a fight, comforting him, making sure he feels okay before you talk some sense into him.
It’s walking in the greener parts of Awa’atlu with Kiri, listening to her rambles as you walk to take her mind off her failed attempt at weaving again.
It’s his persistence when it comes to visiting your family. A kind smile on his face despite your mother’s hostility in the earlier days.
It’s taking care of the village’s children in your place when you’re feeling sick. Or guiding Tsireya and Ao’nung the other way when he knows you’re feeling overwhelmed and in need of space.
Life with him consists of nights telling stories of the lives the two of you followed before your souls decided they wanted to be one.
You decide you want to actively love him the night he talks about the weight of a title promised to him and his struggle with coming to terms with that promise being broken for his family’s safety.
Not sparing another moment, you tell him just that.
"Oel ngati kameie”
I see you.
You look into his eyes as he bares his soul to show you all that he is. The mighty warrior. The golden son. The boy that had to bear the weight of being the heir for seventeen years just for the promised title to leave him, whispering this is for your own good as it closes the door. The boy that wishes he could be more. The boy that aches for his father’s love.
He lets you take in all he is and basks in the love you shower him with.
“Nga yawne lu oer,” He says softly.
I love you.
It brings you so much joy when you realise that every fibre of your being believies him. It wasn’t like when your dad said it, obligation seeping into every vowel. Or when acquaintances say it after a favour granted.
It’s quite simple. You instantly believe him because it’s all you’ve known.
He says I love you and he doesn’t mean it as a thank you for loving me. He says I love you and means it as a promise.
It’s almost as if your soul was made aware of the love he has for you long before the words even left his lips, perhaps his was aware before he even had the thought.
It’s known for longer than the two of you have because your love bleeds into your subconscious and seeps into your actions.
It’s why your mother grew so fond of him. Why his siblings grew so attached to you so quickly.
Because two people can’t build lives together and expect people to not take notice.
You’re about to turn 19 when he tells you that his family is leaving.
First, you ask him if he’s going. The question leaves your lips and it feels like betrayal when he tells you, No, you are my mate. I will stay where you are near.
It feels like you’re betraying the boy that loves his family more than himself. You voice out your thoughts and all he can do is smile at you before he presses you to his chest, forcing you to listen to the beating of his heart. Do you hear that? It beats for you now. I love my family but they understand that you are who I value the most now.
It’s his way of telling you that he loves you enough to stay.
You ask Tsireya to accompany you to the cove of the ancestors that night. She doesn’t ask you questions, but she lets you cry on her shoulders, soft hands caressing your back in an attempt to soothe your sobs.
When you reach the shore, she holds you back and pulls you into a hug before you go to join Neteyam. I will miss you, sister. She whispers, wiping the stray tear quickly and flashing you a smile, removing all traces of her downcast expression.
You give her hand a squeeze before you part ways, your mind stuck on the tear that fell from her eye and the others that were threatening to fall before she wiped them clear.
You allow yourself to reminisce on simpler days. When you were younger and were yet to be tasked with the job of making choices and carrying the weight of them. Knocking over Ronal’s herbs and her children–you didn’t know it yet, but they would soon become your best friends–taking the blame for you (They don’t know this, but you told Ronal it was you that knocked them over the moment they turned their back).
Making the bond with your spirit sister.
Oh. You chide yourself. How could you forget about Sutì?
The tulkun was beyond ecstatic for you when you mentioned the boy, she didn’t say anything then but you’re so sure she could feel the love from your body language, she could always sense things like that. You know your sister would be happy for you, still, you make a mental note to ask Lo’ak if payakan could send a message from you.
When you finally reach where Neteyam is waiting for you, your thoughts are clouded. He takes notice of the expression you have on and kisses your temple. The simple act clears your thought, even for just a moment, it’s as if he were the god of the skies himself, swatting the dark clouds away.
Neteyam doesn’t catch your exchange with Tsireya so he doesn’t actually know what’s bothering you. But he’s loved you long enough to know that something is wrong. A part of him knows you’re considering it–going with his family– a part of him wishes for you to offer. He would never force you to leave your home, he knows how it feels to leave behind all you’ve known and he doesn’t want you to suffer the way he suffered.
So he calls himself selfish, you’re so selfish. He says it multiple times, holding your hands as he does, in hopes that the feeling goes away because never in a thousand lifetimes would he wish for you to hurt.
But when he goes to sleep that night, his heart curled up in front of him, a part of him still wishes.
When you tell him that you wish to come along, he argues against you.
A part of him cheers. He tries his best to shut it down.
He calmly recalls his struggles with adapting and explains how he doesn’t want to put you through that.
He wants you to argue back.
Neteyam shuts his eyes, overcome with guilt for simply wanting and the overwhelming desire to keep you happy.
You smile up at him, as if you were holding that part of him between your hands, the words that leave your lips immediately calms him down, “We both want this.”
He searches your eyes, looking for a hint of hesitance. When he spots it, he opens his mouth to speak but you interrupt him yet again.
“I am scared,” he cradles your face as you speak, “but I trust that you will make me happy wherever we are.”
Yes and I could make you happy here, you could make me happy here, he thinks.
But you don’t stop talking, “We could also be happy here, yes. But I do not have siblings like you do.”
He asks one more time with his eyes, you smile.
“Besides, mother and father already approved of my departure.”
Your statement completely breaks his resolve, tears falling from his eyes before you could reach out to wipe them.
“I love you,” he holds you in his arms, “I promise I’ll make you happy.”
You smile, content in his arms, “I know you will.”
“This isn’t a goodbye, I will see you again,” The words leave your mouth but even you aren’t sure how much you believe it.
You talked to Jake, Toruk Makto. Asking him questions that were answered with honesty. He says he isn’t sure. Because even with his nemesis dead, the sky people were still in Pandora.
“Your family isn’t safe here,” you remember saying, observing his face as you spoke, “yet you gave your son the option to stay,” he stopped sharpening his spear, “why is that?”
Jake paused  before he continued sharpening the spear, as if to collect his thoughts.
“He begged me,” Jake took in the shocked expression you have on and simply smiled, “I am a father, but I also know what it is like to love another,” he stood to put the spear away, “I don’t want my son to suffer like that.”
You’re shaken out of the memory by your best friend cutting off your circulation, “Ao’nung! Skxawng you’re going to kill me.”
You take in his tear stained face and let out an exaggerated gasp in an attempt to lighten the mood. You know it works when the corners of his lips lift and he shoves you playfully.
When his sister approaches to hug you, his face gets serious yet again. “If you’re ever unhappy there, you’ll always have a home here, never forget that.”
His serious demeanour has you and Tsireya laughing, “How are they supposed to do that skxawng? The ocean would eat them alive before they make it home.”
At Tsireya’s comment, he takes up an exaggerated thinking stance, going on for a moment before he nods to yourself, “Don’t be unhappy.”
You laugh at his resolve but he hushes you, “You can be unhappy once you get an ikran,” your eyes soften at his surprising thoughtfulness, “just so you can go home.”
Your trio disperses when a horn is sounded, signalling your departure. Tsireya and Ao’nung share a look before they tackle you, giving you one last squeeze before you move towards the centre of the crowd where the Sullys stand.
Neteyam reaches over and you join him, waving goodbye to everyone you recognise in the crowd.
Tuk rushes over to you and you lift her up, “I can’t wait to show you the forest!” She grins and you find yourself mirroring her expression.
Neteyam takes Tuk from your arms, allowing you a few more seconds of goodbye.
You catch Ronal and Tonowari’s gaze and smile at their gesture.
Oel ngati kameie. You gesture back.
Once you’ve hopped on the ikran, you catch their gaze again. This time, you catch yourself signing, thank you.
For protecting my home.
For giving me Tsireya and Ao’nung.
Ronal tears up at the gesture and you find yourself mirroring her.
Once you’re in the air, Neteyam lets his ikran fall back a bit. He holds you and you finally allow the tears to fall.

You Are Home
As you were resting, relaxing, healing, you had taken up a few new hobbies. Some of your favorite hobbies, like archery and exploring new places, required standing, running around, being active, which you were barred from doing right now. You were frustrated with Ronal’s instructions to stay home and rest, but you did not dare go against her.
You had taken up weaving, something you had never thought you would enjoy, or really learn to do. You mostly made bracelets and necklaces, but would sometimes mend broken fishing nets or clothes people would bring you.
Your favorite part was watching the joy on people’s faces when you showed them your work. At first it was sloppy, when you were just making small bracelets which you would gift to Tuk or Kiri, but they still loved them. Then as you got better and started mending things for people the look of gratitude as they tanked you fueled you. The fact that you were helping people fueled you.
Unable to spar with your hunting knives, or shoot arrows with your bow, you felt useless. You felt defenseless. Any time you would think about the sky people returning your gut would twist. You thought about how you could struggle through a fight off the ground, but if you could fight while down that would make things a lot easier, so you decided to learn how to make throwing knives.
It had been rough at first, their blades and handles slightly different from the ones you were used to carving. When you would throw them they would land wrong, unbalanced or not sharp enough to stick to your target.
Your favorite throwing knife you had crafted had a blade carved from the tooth of a palulukan that you had found in the forest ages ago, as a young girl. When you found it you weren’t sure what to do with it, keeping it safe until you thought about how to use it, and now you were happy you decided to bring it with you to Awa’atlu.
You loved the look and feel of the knife, the way the handle was smooth driftwood Neteyam had brought you from the beach, the sharp edge of the blade that had come from the forest. The palulukan tooth reminded you of home, and the driftwood was a reminder of what was to come living with the Metkayina people.
Not only had you learned to carve throwing knives, but you had taught yourself to use them. You had been practicing on your time off. A wooden beam in the walls of your marui was often your victim, marks etched in it from your many misses and victories. With every throw, every mark, you thought the marui should be more damaged, but it stood strong through your attacks. In an odd way it reminded you of yourself, beaten and battered, but still standing unwavering in the face of danger.
Even though your other new skills came in handy, they held no significance in your heart. Someone may ask, what skill could hold so much significance to you? Your answer would be quick, learning English. Even though you had been so determined to deny any chance Neteyam gave you to learn English back home in the forest, you had taken up his offer now.
So you have been learning English since you arrived in Awa’atlu. Neteyam took the role of your teacher, and he was doing a pretty good job if you had anything to say about it. He was patient with you, and didn’t get frustrated when you couldn’t pronounce a word correctly, or when you asked over and over again, what is the english word for skxawng when Lo’ak was being a moron.
You were supposed to be learning Metkayina sign language as well in preparation for you going into the water when you were ready, but instead of practicing that you spent most of your time on english.
In some ways it was because of the Sully family.
It was Jake’s first language. Sometimes he used words you didn’t understand, phrases that made no sense to you, and you were curious to finally learn what he meant. It was also Neytiri and the kid’s second language, everyone in their family knew it to some extent. Everyone around you spoke it, so why shouldn't you.
In some ways it was because of Quaritch.
You wanted to talk with the man that had brought you so much pain. You didn’t have questions, you wanted to lash out at him, and let him see how badly he was affecting you, and not just you, but your people as well. You knew he wouldn’t care, but you need him to know. You need him to know.
There was one thing in particular that you wanted to say to him, and so you practiced that sentence over and over again, making sure to get the inflection right. You wanted your statement to strike fear into his heart.
Once you had calmed down enough to lift your head from Neteyam’s chest, where it had been laying moments before, you looked around. Jake was questioning Lo’ak about where his sisters were, and suddenly everything was chaos again as Tsireya cried out that they were tied up on the ship. The ship that was slowly sinking into the depths of the sea, the darkness that laid below the water. The ship that was quickly becoming a graveyard as more and more people died.
Kiri and Tuk can not die on there.
Your breathing was unsteady as you thought about it all. Everything that had happened, and you knew you needed to help. You needed to help get them off, and maybe you would run into Quaritch.
Quaritch was the cause of this, and he was your target. You would not rest until he was dead, so you repacked your healing pouch, knives and all, and tied it back around your waist. On wobbly feet you stood, ready to run off and find the man you hated so much. You needed revenge, now. You needed to be the one to take him out.
However once you were on your feet someone stopped you. Jake. He placed his hands on your shoulders, by the serious look he had on his face you had missed something, “They have Tuk and Kiri. We’re going to get them. Stay here with Neteyam and the others.”
You felt yourself deflate, you needed to go help, but you knew Jake was serious, and you didn’t want to mess with him right now as he held the fire of rage in his eyes, so you answered simply, “Okay.” and this time you meant it, you would stay, you weren’t going to run off, not as you through about how Neteyam needed you like he did right now.
Jake and Neytiri took off soon after, headed fast towards the demon ship, and as you sat there with Neteyam you thought about what was about to happen. Jake was going to kill Quaritch. You wouldn’t get the chance, but you supposed as long as he was dead you were happy, whether it was you who killed him or not.
You didn’t know how much time had passed as you sat there, and you were quickly getting riled up more as time went on. You felt yourself slipping the more you thought about Quaritch. You thought about everything he had done, all the pain he had caused, and you felt the wild animal inside you awaken.
As your eyes surveyed the area for any sign of danger you took deep breaths, doing as Neteyam had taught you, and you tried your hardest to keep your eyes in focus, your hearing from going out, your mind from going blank, and you seem to be succeeding.
You seem to be succeeding.
Then you’re not.
You watched with harsh, unforgiving eyes as Spider lugs himself and Quaritch out of the water, both of them dripping and shivering from the breeze that was gently coasting over the ocean. You were worried about Jake as the thoughts of his mission to kill Quaritch flooded through your head, but you thought if Jake couldn’t finish the job, you certainly would. It was your turn now, and you wouldn’t miss your chance.
You focused in on them with cruel eyes, eyes that held danger and uncertainty for them, and you knew if looks could kill you can guarantee they would both be dead right now.
However no matter how much you prayed to Eywa for the man who had caused you so much pain to be dead, he was not.
No matter how much you wanted his son, who you blamed just as much for his wrongdoings, to be dead, he was not.
Neither of them were.
That was about to change.
You said a quick goodbye to Neteyam who was still asleep, praying he would stay stable with a lingering kiss to his forehead. You left him with Tsireya, who you trusted enough, as everyone else had left on missions to save their parents.
You swam as stealthily as possible with your leg, aching as you used it too much, over to the rock where they were standing. You slowly creeped out of the water crouching low like you were going to pounce. You stood behind Quaritch, but decided not to attack yet.
Your mind focused on him. It was as if you were coated in a haze of violence, as your heart hammered in your chest. Thoughts of killing him fogged your mind like a dewy early morning where the fog rolled in off of the ocean.
As you struggled to think about anything other than the brutal death you were about to bestow onto him you remembered the sentence you had practiced so much, “You will die today.” You hissed out, your accent was strong, almost hard to understand. He whipped around as if he didn’t even realize you had been behind him, his eyes meeting you, and he seemed to understand what you had said.
He laughs at you, like your threat is funny, “You’re that feral one, aren’t you?” He questioned you, and you simply hissed back, teeth bared and a violence stronger than anything else stirring in your soul, like a storm about to downpour.
“If you want to kill me so badly, then let’s go!” He taunted you, holding his hands out like an invitation, “Let’s dance.”
Before you could make your move, Spider barged in, stepping between the two of you, but facing you head on, “(Y/n), please don’t do this!” He practically begged you, and you were furious.
You growled at him, violence in your eyes, and he flinched back as you spoke, “Stupid tawtute boy.” You insulted him, voice low and full of rage, “Stay out of this. You will be lucky if I do not kill you too!” You shouted the warning at him.
If you asked Spider he would admit he feared for his life, but he didn’t back down, knowing the Sullys would be furious with him if they found out he hadn’t tried to stop you, “This isn’t about me, it isn’t even about him. I’m warning you, (Y/n), I don’t think you can win this fight.”
You hissed loudly, your ears flat on your head, and sharp canines bared, “Spider, I am warning you, you better be gone by the time I’m done with him, or you will meet the same fate.” You warned him once again, before turning back to Quaritch, drawing one of your throwing blades, “He will pay for his crimes with death. If you are lucky he will have paid for your crimes too.”
Spider seemed to be fed up now, frustrated beyond belief, “Fine… Fine! Go on, fight him then!”
You smirked with that little victory, turning back to Quaritch as Spider stepped aside, “You die, now!”
Quaritch looked just as smug, he was confident he was going to win, and he let you know that with vaguely threatening words, “You’re really gonna fight me, huh? With your leg all busted up like that?” He snickered, smirking as he taunted you, “Did my guys do that to you?”
You just hissed as a reply, crouching down in a fighting pose, remembering everything your mother palulukan had taught you. She had taught you to stay strong, to keep your stamina up, to pounce, and take down, and kill.
However she hadn’t taught you to play dirty.
You had learned that somewhere else, and playing dirty was exactly what you decided to do. He had no weapons, an immense advantage for you, and a downfall for him. If you were being fair, making sure the battleground was even, you would have fought fist to fist, but it wasn’t fair. It wasn’t fair, and you didn’t care.
You draw your first weapon, pulling out a knife from your healing pouch. Feeling the handle you immediately knew which one it was, the palulukan tooth knife. In an odd way it filled you with rage. It was your only throwing knife made of supplies from the forest, every other one made with typical Metkayina materials.
It reminded you of home, and what you had to leave behind. All because of him.
When you drew it from your pouch and he didn’t make a move you knew you had the upper hand. He was hesitant to attack you while you were wielding a weapon, but what he didn’t know was that your knife wasn’t for slashing or cutting, it was to be thrown, and that’s exactly what you did.
He wasn’t quick enough to figure out what was going on, and before he could dodge the blade was dug into his shoulder. He hissed out in pain, looking at his shoulder and assessing the damage. You were sure it didn’t do too much, maybe his arm would be out of the fight, but that wasn’t much in the whole scheme of things.
He was quick in his movements as he pulled it out of his shoulder, not flinching as if he was prepared for it, and instead of throwing it back at you he tossed it to the side, not giving you a chance to use it again.
You threw the next, him dodging it this time, and you decided this wasn’t going to work. He was too aware now, but maybe once he got tired, slower, you could try again. Instead you crouched down, pouncing at him and throwing a punch.
Thank Eywa, it landed.
He seemed frustrated as you tried to back away, but he didn’t let you escape, grabbing your braid, dragging you back and placing his arms behind your neck while twisting your arms behind your back. You struggled in his hold for a second, and once your mind cleared a bit you came up with a plan.
You threw your head back, nailing him straight in the nose and he was quick to let you go. He staggered back, a hand wiping the blood that trickled from his nose as you sprinted towards him again. This time he threw a punch in your direction, hitting your shoulder and you hissed.
He tried to hit you once again and you caught his fist, twisting it and using his momentum to throw him to the ground on his back where you stood over him, looming like an angel, like you were the last thing he was about to see.
As you sank down, knees on either side of his torso where you had planned to stab him with the same serrated knife that had taken the life of another one of the recoms just weeks earlier in the forest, he grabbed your wrists together, both hands held firmly onto the handle. He tried to throw you off, but it just ended up with you dropping your knife.
You saw the palulukan tooth knife beside his head out of the corner of your eye, and you reached for it quickly, but he took his chance and flipped you over pinning you to the ground this time, but by his error your hands were free, and you managed to grab the knife.
Horror filled his eyes as he realized you had the weapon, and before he could move away it was sunk into his chest, right above his heart, but luckily it hadn’t pierced the vital organ. He tried rolling off of you, tried to escape, but you were quicker than him.
You dug your knife into his neck, slitting it open, and as blood spewed onto you from his body above you, you felt victorious.
You had won!
He was dead…
It took a few seconds for him to be completely gone, and when he was, his body slumped down onto you. You shoved him off of you roughly and he fell to the ground, face down, and you were grateful you never had to see his face ever again.
You stood up, looking down at him, and for good measure, anger and violence still flowing through your veins, you stomped on the back of his head, making sure his face was smashed beyond recognition if he somehow, somehow, survived your finishing blow.
When you were satisfied, done with the fight, you crashed to the ground, exhausted. You wanted to collapse to the ground in a heap of tears, but instead you cleaned yourself up, tending to the small cuts you had gotten, somehow avoiding any serious damage to yourself, and you had never felt so young since you had been a child.
You felt so small as you sat hunched over, cleaning your wounds in the seawater around you. The salt left a burning sensation that somehow calmed you. It reminded you of being a child, being littered in cuts from your days in the forest before you got back home and your mother palulukan would lick your wounds clean. It reminded you of your den back in the forest. It reminded you of home.
You breathed harshly, still angry, and as Spider stood near you with his mouth agape you addressed him harshly, “Why are you still here, traitor? Why haven’t you run away?” He still looked in shock, apparently he was truly convinced you couldn't kill Quaritch, and now you had. You asked him, “Am I going to be forced to kill you too?” That snapped him out of his shocked state.
He began to talk, stuttering over his words, not actually getting anything out, and you hoped for the boy that Eywa be on his side, as he tried to convince you not to murder once again.
All he could say was, “Please. Please don’t…”
You felt bad for him in a way, although you had no reason to, but decided to let him live. However he had to be held accountable for dragging Quaritch from his grave in the sea. You decided to let him live thinking whatever punishment Jake would have for him would be worse than death, “I’ll spare you, but I am telling Jake. Good luck with that.” You squinted at him harshly, before you stepped back into the sea, ready to swim back to Neteyam and his family, your family.
When you got back Spider was close behind you, and everyone could feel the tension. Everyone knew something had happened, but you decided to allow peace for now, not addressing what had happened and staying quiet.
Instead you hustled back over to Neteyam who was conscious again, and sitting up with help from his mother. You took her place and held him tightly, “I love you. I love you so much.” You whispered to him, just for him.
“I love you too, yawne.” He muttered back, clearly exhausted.
“Let’s get you home…” You trailed off, carefully admitting that you were calling Awa’atlu your home, but only because he was with you, “Let’s go home.”
He nodded in agreement, happy that you were content. Once everyone else was ready to leave everyone paired up with a creature to take them back. Neytiri called her ikran, Jake on a tsurak, and the kids on ilus.
You called out to your ikran as well, and once she landed you carefully sat Neteyam up on her back with you sitting behind him holding him close. He had to be out of the water so his wound wouldn't get infected and the blood clotting paste wouldn’t wash off. You were grateful he was able to ride with you, Neytiri taking Tuk with her.
You were grateful he was still here with you.
Once you arrived back in Awa’atlu you rushed Neteyam to the Tsahík’s marui, and as Ronal heard the panic in your voice she rushed out to meet you. She was just as shocked as you were at first, but she was even more so shocked he was still alive. She took note to compliment you later, sure you were the one who had saved his life.
Just as you were required to rest, she now put Neteyam on bed rest as well, and as you had once again pulled your stitches out during your fight with Quaritch you were required to stay with him. You had complained you were stuck inside for longer, but you were secretly excited to spend all day relaxing with Neteyam.
You sighed, your hand resting on his knee gently, rubbing circles on it more so to calm yourself than him, “Ronal says your leg may never work the same, says you’ll have a limp, but I have faith in you… I know you will recover.” You admitted. You know he had heard that from Ronal, but you wanted to reassure him he would be okay. You were sure of that.
He cringed at your words, he knew Ronal was most likely right, but he gave into you, “I know tiyawn.” He said to amuse you, he didn’t want you to know he was so pessimistic about this. He didn’t want you to know he didn’t believe you.
You frowned, and he wanted to do anything to take it off of your face, “I know you don’t believe me, but you are so resilient. You will be back to normal in no time. You are so, so strong…” You complimented him, kissing his cheek, “and you have the best healer taking care of you.” You winked at him, slyly complimenting yourself, and making him laugh.
As you sit next to him, checking his wounds, changing the dressings, caring for him as you would yourself, you realize why you are so happy, even after your world has completely changed. As long as he is okay, as long as he is next to you, as long as you have his love, you are home.

You sank down under the water, your breath coming out short as a bright pain bloomed in your chest, Neteyam turned looking at you, both his and lo'ak's eyes widened at the blood pooling around you, you got above the surface, your face twisting in pain as you said "I'm- I'm shot" sinking below again but Lo'ak immediately pulled you on his ilu, Neteyam helped you settle on it, Tsireya was trailing behind as they made their way towards the stony island, you held onto lo'ak's hand as you spoke "ma' itan, i see you ma'evi" he shook his head in disbelief, not wanting to say goodbye just yet, making his ilu ride even faster than before, your eyelids feel heavy but you fought the urge to close them "mama, please don't close your eyes, we're nearly there, dad will know what to do! Please just keep your eyes open, please" his voice pleading, almost begging you, Neteyam was horrified as much as Lo'ak, he was hardly processing the fact, he couldn't imagine a world without you, reaching the island, Jake stood mortified at the sight of you bleeding, his two sons immediately hauling you over and he bent down to help them "careful watch her head, Watch her HeAd!" They gently laid you down, a fit of cough bubbled up in your chest, spitting out blood, Jake stilled, his heart sinking down and down per minute, he quickly got on your side, lifting your injured side looking at your back, There…. The exit wound. "shit, no" laying you back down, a hand on your cheek as you grabbed his wrist "ma'Jake, i-" he voice wavered as he spoke, tears lined his eyes "no, please, you can't" you smiled, giving him a reassuring pat even in your final moments the only thing on your mind was your family, your lungs constricting with the passing second, before you could say anything Neytiri landed near you, Lo'ak was putting pressure on your wound, chanting to eywa to keep you alive, Neteyam was trying not to cry while grabbing your hand but you knew, this was it, your time as come.
Neytiri sat down near your thigh, taking your hand from Neteyam, while he sat near your legs, Neytiri's heart dropping to her feet at your sight, tears almost already falling down her eyes, looking at Jake for information but he shook his head looking down, not being able to make eye contact with her, "No, no no no, please great mother" her voice was barely above a whisper, your felt a pang through your chest, you knew if you didn't speak now, you'd never get a chance to again, ever, with great difficulty you finally spoke "tell tuk, i love her, so so much, i love you too Lo'ak and 'teyam, I'm sorry i won't get to see you all grown u-" you coughed, more blood spilling out, your breaths puffing up, hastily grabbing onto Neytiri's and Jake's arm, your eyes Frantic as you spoke your final sentences "tell Kiri, I'll give her greetings to grace, take care of them for me, you all have been my whole world – Jake, tiri, you brou- brought the whole wor- world to me, my loves, I can't thank you enough — ma'Jake, ma'Neytiri, I se- see-" your hand slipped from their arms, the last of the exhale leaving your mouth, body going limp, eyes dilating, lips still frozen in forming the next word.
Neytiri's wailed sounded throughout the space as Jake leaned his head against yours, tears flowing down his cheeks, Lo'ak sat in shock, immovable, he didn't want to believe his mama is gone, forever, your hand still in his, Neteyam shook your leg lightly as if you'd wake up from this cruel slumber, spider watched from afar tears rolling down his own cheeks, Neytiri pulled your head against her chest, her cries shattering Jake's heart, your body was growing cold now, Jake had no choice but to get up, taking Neytiri with him, he still had his daughters to save, Neytiri looked at him with hollow eyes, nothing but sorrow filled in them, his throat constricted as he spoke "we have get our girls back, strong heart Ney, strong heart!" His voice broke in the end, but Neytiri turned around, climbing on her ikran as it roared taking off, Jake turned to take one last look at your body before walking away too.
Back at the rock after battle :
Jake :
He watched as your body laid still, not one moment, his mind numb, silent tears falling down his eyes but he did not bother to wipe them.
Holding your hand close to him, begging any god who'd listen to bring you back, to take him instead but just give you back to him.
He did not speak a word, silently taking in your features, remembering them for one last time.
He blamed himself for not being there to protect you, he made a promise to be there for you, to cherish you, but there you were, a promise so broken, a promise he failed to keep.
He quitely traced the freckles on your face, the ones that glowed so bright with your smile, the freckles he loved so much, the patterns reminding him if the constellations, he could stare at them for hours on end, but he only has a few minutes till it all disappears
Caressing your face, as memories of your laughter, giggles, frowns and pouts flooded his mind, it was torture to relive the memories.
Your smile of pure happiness when Lo'ak was born, even after hours of pain and exhaustion dawning over you, you held your son like he'd disappear if you didn't hold him tight enough, Jake could never forget that day either as you almost broke his wrist during the labor but he wasn't complaining as you endured much worse than that.
He let go of your hand, Missing the sensation immediately but stopped himself from grabbing it again, walking back towards the edge of the rock as he finally let the weight of your death crash down on him, breaking down, sobs wrecking his body, he let everything out.
Neytiri :
Her wails could be heard throughout the ocean as she held your head close to her chest again. Crying for her beloved mate, her loving muntxate, her mind wasn't ready to accept it.
Clutching you close, begging your corpse to speak just once but there was no response, cursing and begging eywa to give you back to her.
Your blood coated her body but she didn't care, she couldn't breathe between her sobs, couldn't let go of you, not like this, you promised her forever, now you left her nothing but memories, memories that were once so real now just mere thoughts.
She smiled at the thought of the first time she held tuk in her arms, they almost lost you that day too, tuk did come out but not without complications, you were under observation for more than five days, even Jake was shaken up.
She stared at the necklace you always wore around your neck, never once removing it, given by her, the first mating gift she made for you, Neytiri's heart breaking even more as it laid so lifeless, no longer filled from your love.
Holding your hand once again, the once soft and warm skin now felt cold and rough, bringing it to her cheek, letting the sensation of it seep deep within her, making herself remember it for good, never in her life she thought she'd be so unlucky to see this day.
Her cries not turning into mumbled sighs, leaning down, kissing your forehead for one last time, gathering enough courage to bid you the last goodbye.
With trembling hands she removed your song chord from your braid, the beads and trinkets woven into it, tinkled against each other, she passed a hand through your braids, remembering how you begged her to do your hair because 'she does it better' she'd laugh but your persuasion would win in the end
The beads in your hair seem dull now, no longer holding the meaning behind them, as if you took it with you, leaving behind just the meaningless pebbles and shells.
Neytiri closed her eyes, not even close to readied to let you go, it physically pained her to move on, but Jake pulled her back, to let your body be taken back to awa'atlu, her mind so engrossed in you she didn't even notice the metkayina warriors behind her.
Trying her best to keep the composure but failed when you were finally taken away from her.
Neteyam :
He was shaken to his core, you were his safe person, the one he could confess his deepest secret to and would not be judged for it.
Without you who'd listen to him? He listened to everyone but you were the only one who heard his problem intently, the only one who actually saw him, but you were gone, forever, so far away from him.
Tears wouldn't stop running down his face, even after he harshly wiped them off, to not show his weakness, they still slided down his face.
He sat near your feet, sniffling hard, wiping his nose as he sobbed for you, all his happy memories included you, there is no time in his life that he didn't spend without you.
He loved your hugs, when Jake used to be a little too hard, your hugs calmed him down, your words a soothing feeling as he used to sleep in your arms, maybe sometimes lo'ak snuggled in but the attention was always on him.
Who'd hug him now? Comfort him like you did? He was not ready for this, for you to go away so suddenly, he needed you, you were his rock, you grounded him, how could he be ready for something like this?
He lightly grazed his hand over your knee, wanting to wake up from this cruel nightmare, all hopes of you waking up vanishing slowly, as you laid there as if you were sleeping.
He got up, standing beside Jake as he pulled him in for a hug, not bearing to look back at you, eyes fixated on the ground as Neteyam sobbed in his father's arms, finally accepting the fact that you're gone forever.
Lo'ak :
He stared at your blood on his hands, not having the courage to face you, how could he live without you not by his side?
Sobs never came out, tears never fell down but his heart broke into a million pieces, too shocked to respond.
He bent down, connecting his forehead with yours as his voice was barely over a whisper "I'm sorry, mama, don't leave me like this, I need you with me, please, I'm so sorry" the words becoming softer and softer until they were barely heard.
He couldn't breathe properly, everything was crumbling down, you were his world, his mama, how was he supposed to live without you?
You were the one who saved him from Jake's scolding and Neytiri's glare, you were his safe space, his best friend, the person who would listen to his every banter, who would do that now?
He blamed himself for everything, if he didn't ask to save spider then you'd be still alive, alive beside him, hugging him, kissing his forehead like you always did, making sure if he was okay! But now he sat alone, inconsolable.
He sobbed finally as he couldn't take it anymore, finally as the barriers broke, Tsireya holding him tightly, he couldn't help but think that it should have been him, it should be him lying in your place, you deserved better than this.
He fell apart in Tsireya's arms, crying like he never did before, his wails so deep it rattled the ones sitting beside him, letting out everything but in its place now laid an empty void, filled with nothing but despair.
His mom is gone, he'll never have his favorite dish made by you, you'll never hold him in your arms when he is sad, you were gone, somewhere so far away that he couldn't reach.
Kiri :
Kiri sat with tuk in her arms, even if you weren't her biological mom, you treated her like your own, spoiling her with her favorite things every time she felt low, braiding her hair just how she liked, never once complaining if she gave you some attitude.
You'd accompany her everytime she visited Grace, never letting go of her hand when she watched the video logs again and again.
Always letting her know how loved she was, you were her mom too, just like Neytiri, your bond so unique.
You understood her connection with eywa, giving her guidance over how well she could maintain it.
If she felt like the day was just not good, she'd make a beeline to you even if it was middle of the night and wrap your arms around her without a word, Letting her know you're there for her.
Sitting by the edge her tears were uncontrollable, she hugged tuk tightly as memories flooded her mind but none seemed to comfort her right now.
Slowly, as there were no tears left to she'd, she stopped crying only relishing in your memories as she stared at you in your last moments.
Tuk :
She sat in her older sister's arms, not knowing what was happening, her mama was lying down, to her she was sleeping but ohh how she misunderstood it.
She struggled in her sister's arms, finally getting out, she made her way to you, sitting by your side, shaking your arm to wake you up but you never did.
When Jake saw her sitting beside you, he immediately picked her up, and she wrapped her arms around his neck, her lower lip wobbling as she spoke "daddy, why isn't mama waking up?" he was left speechless, what was he supposed to say?
He said with as much as steadiness he muster "mama, is resting sweetheart, she is resting with eywa now, you'll see her again one day, now she's gonna sleep for a long while, she's tired you know?"
Tuk nodded but she knew something was wrong but her little mind couldn't process it, in that moment she just cried in her father's neck for a while before drifting off in her dreams.
The Funeral :
Your body was wrapped in the brown leather, pulling your limbs closer to your torso, as it laid in the raft that was pulled by an ilu guided by Jake, your hair beautifully done by Neytiri for the last time, the beads in your hair representing each of your family members, the whole village stood by watching as the sully's silently brought your body to the center, letting the raft float for a while, as Jake got down from the ilu and they circled around it, tuk gently touched your face floating beside Kiri, Lo'ak sniffed trying not to cry, Neteyam helped spider stay afloat, Neytiri wore your necklace, the one she gifted to you, the traditional metkayina attire draping over her head, her face twisting in pain as she looked at your peaceful features, Jake stared at your face taking you all in for the last time, the flower petals slipped into the sea water as the raft was dipped down, your body shifting down with it, slowly making you afloat, Jake and Neytiri took deep breaths, readying themselves for the dive, finally with one last glance at each other they dunk you in, taking you down near the glowing yellow plants, with one light push the plant enveloped you in their tiny arms, like a golden blanket overlapping eachother to keep you warm in your sleep, Lo'ak saw from above as a sob bubbled up his chest, but still watched until he was dragged away by Neteyam. The eldest son crying himself, still he held onto the useless hope of you returning back.
Lo'ak stared at the glowing plants that held you, your body completely invisible, if he didn't know better it almost looked like there's nothing. Jake and neytiri got up to the surface, the family hugged each other with one member less now.
The sorrow of the family was unmatched, the metkayinas gave their condolences but it wouldn't bring you back though. Soon it was time to visit the spirit tree, to bond with it and forever be recognised as metkayina.
Jake's memory of you : (with neytiri)
You sat near the edge of the lake, the lake where you, Jake and neytiri visited every week, just some alone time for the three of you, legs dangling, feets in the water, splashing it once or twice, your hands busy as you weaved the shawl for Jake, you had made it your mission to make him a new one as the old one was…. Well old!
You were startled when Jake sat beside you quietly, startled was an understatement, he nearly gave you a heart attack. He chuckled when you hit his arm, your laughter music to his ears "Great mother! Jake, you scared me." He just nudged you, his eyes falling onto the fabric in your hand "what are you making, tiyawn?" Your smile made his heart melt as you said "I'm making a shawl for you ma'jake, the old is too short for you" tears pricked his eyes, grabbing the shawl in his hand, swiping at the soft material, a tear falling down on it. You looked up at him confused, why was his crying? Is this not what he wanted? "Ma'jake, why are you crying? You don't like the shawl? Is there something wrong with it?" Your voice full of concern, while he shook his head lightly, he answered, almost a whisper as he brought his hand to my cheek, another tear falling down his face "No, no- *sigh* I'm just happy to see you, yawne" you smiled at his words, relieved he didn't dislike the shawl, you said "I'm happy to see you too, ma'jake", while you were far away from knowing the truth.
Neytiri watched from a distance, fingers lightly covering her lips, tears of her own sliding down the curve of her cheek, walking up to both of you, you immediately pulled her down to sit beside you, Jake and neytiri both shared a glance at each other, while you snuggled in neytiri's side, you sigh "it's nice isn't it? I'd die to stay in this moment forever!" Jake stared at you, his heart broke all over again ; only if you knew, in the end he pulled you both in a tight hug, while you giggled in between them, both Jake and Neytiri savored the moment until the last second,as soon they wouldn't be able to do it again.
Jake didn't realize how time passed and with a heavy heart he disconnected his queue from the tree, opening his eyes atlast…

a/n: the long awaited chapter 2 is here! this one was especially hard to write as the animal cruelty part had me tearing up a bit. reader discretion is strongly advised for this one!~
»»————- . ————-««
You swore you could feel your patience running thin as it had been nearly a couple hours since these lab geeks, as you liked to refer them as, conducted physical and psychological examinations on your well-being to ensure that you were fit and healthy enough for whatever they were planning to put you through. Your annoyance didn’t go unnoticed by them either, as you never bothered to hide your reluctance when it came to another test they had you perform. They were tedious, and brought you nothing but boredom and headaches, but if you had to entertain them to even have the slightest chance of fleeing this hellhole, it would be your best bet to just suck it up and push through.
“How are you doing so far? You feeling okay?” the scientist, Thomas, questioned as he had a clipboard cradle in his arm.
“Do I have to be here for long? It feels like we’ve been at this for ages already.” you sighed as you briefly closed your eyes in exhaustion.
“Look, kid. All of this is just as hard for you as it is for everyone here. Dr. Aragon would have our heads on the chopping block if anything were to go wrong with you.” he explained, almost empathising with you.
“Not to mention we would be on Colonel Quaritch’s shit list.” one of the younger apprentices chimed in.
As the scientists continued scrambling left and right attending to you, a deep and thunderous roar travelled through the hallways outside the laboratory, almost causing the room to shake slightly. Many were startled by the noise, you included, and everyone looked at each other wondering what type of beast could have made such a deafening noise. Hence, the line of chattering ensued.
“Does anyone here have a clue as to what that was?”
“Could be one of the thanators or viperwolves that was brought out for testing, probably?”
“Now, I’ve been working with those creatures for a while, and none of them sounded like that.”
The scientists carried on with their silly debate on what made that booming roar, causing you to become an afterthought. Not that you minded really as you could use a quick break from all those tedious examinations. Out of curiosity, your feet carried you to the large window of the lab, allowing you a wide view of the hallway. Your eyes scanned it from left to right, hoping to catch a glimpse of the creature.
Something out there must have heard your silent wishes, because no longer than a matter of seconds later, a giant turquoise figure ran up to the window, causing you to fall to the floor and the scientists to flinch back from shock and horror. It stood tall and broad, with its massive palms propping itself up against the glass, the sight incredibly menacing in front of you.
Once the beast regained some of its composure, its eyes then gazed upwards, now looking through the window where it saw a sea of terrified faces, all of them cowering away and taking steps back. A deep and heavy growl escaped its throat, further terrifying the humans inside as its eye scanned the room until it made contact with one of the occupants inside.
You.
You weren’t very distant from the window, it seemed.
What an easy target.
The grizzly creature wasted no time in letting out another ear-piercing scream, followed by aggressive pounding being delivered to the thick glass. Everyone in the room was caught up in a messy havoc, scrambling around to either find hiding spots or potential weapons for self-defence.
“Everybody, try your best to stay calm! He can’t get to us! It’s a bulletproof glass window!” Thomas shouted, attempting to get the lab under control. “Our fear shouldn’t be evident! It only triggers this son of a bitch even more.”
As if time took a pause from reality, so did the punches to the window. You could see fresh blood staining the spot that got assaulted the most, a trail making its way down the glass.
But through the bloodstains, you could see a jagged line that was not there before. Taking a closer look at it, a cold shiver of fear was sent down your spine, a pit forming in your stomach and your breath hitching when you realised what you were looking at.
“G-Guys… look over there…” you whimpered as you pointed upwards.
Everyone drew their gaze towards the line in question, gasps following afterwards upon realisation.
A crack.
This was three inches of bulletproof glass, designed to withstand the strongest of any gun ammunition out there, and this colossal of a being just put a fucking crack into it.
Just how much strength was this monstrous beast possessing?
This seemed to bring a sense of sadistic joy to the creature, as a demonic toothy smirk formed on its lips, displaying the large fangs. It soon raised its bloodied hand into a tight fist again, ready to continue the abuse inflicted onto the thick glass, when suddenly, a couple of tranquilisers were shot into its upper back. The beast flinched from the short second of pain but started losing its consciousness with its eyelids growing heavy before passing out onto the cold metal lab floors.
Moments later, the sound of combat boots could be heard as a group of recom avatars came rushing in to control the situation. It took nearly took six recom soldiers to even lift the guy up, making the size of this giant man even more daunting to picture in your head. These avatars were nearly ten feet tall, and the guy they were carrying managed to dwarf their already insane height and weight.
Once the coast was clear and the atmosphere of the lab started to calm down slightly, Colonel Quaritch made his entrance to check up on his fellow subjects.
“So, what did y’all think of that performance? Like what you saw?” the colonel joked as he struck a mischievous grin.
“Yeah, it was splendid, sir. Nearly died from a couple heart attacks, but still, splendid.” one of the younger scientists replied sarcastically.
“Just what the hell happened out there? He could’ve broken the glass and your loyal test subject right here would’ve been gone in two bites from that thing.” Thomas fearfully exclaimed while gesturing to you, who was still shaking for anxiety.
“Relax now, would ya, squirt? The dude just didn’t get sedated enough the first time ‘round and woke up a little early. That’s all.” Quaritch explained exasperatedly. “I don’t see a scratch on any of y’all, and that’s all that matters.”
“Well, if you had been a second later, his violent rampage would’ve probably turned this lab into an all-you-can-eat buffet.” the slight tease from Thomas caused some chuckles to erupt.
As their conversation carried on, you moved to sat on one of the stools, hoping to calm yourself from your near-death experience earlier. You couldn’t help but feel bewildered by the appearance of that being, he wasn’t something that you had seen before, at least not from the illustrations and notes left by your late parents. He shared many similar features with the Na’vi that you were used to seeing, from the pointed ears to the broad nose and lack of eyebrows. The key differences that separated him from them were his skin colour, a light blue that matched the shallows of the ocean, his tail was broader, and his arms were shaped in a way that made them looked like fins. Build wise, he was a lot taller, bigger, and packed more muscle than other Na’vi.
“What k-kind of Na’vi was he? He looked a l-little different compared to y-you and the ones my parents were s-studying.” you stuttered out your question.
“Oh, that? His kind resides in the reefs of Pandora. Na’vis, just like humans, biologically adapt to their surroundings.” Thomas explained. “Compared to humans though, their evolutionary distinctions between each other are a lot more evident and easier to identify.”
“W-What’s going to happen to him? We’re not k-killing him, are we?”
“Haha, no, no. Well, at least not yet. We still need him around so we can… observe him a little bit.” the colonel said. “And that’s where you come in, our little lab rat!”
“And what am I supposed to do with him? He’s massive, even bigger than you are, it seems! He’s going to snap me in half as soon as he sees me.”
“Now why don’t ya just settle down for a second, ay? What do you think my team is for? Like I said, you’re one hell of an expense here on this damn ship, and we got guns to stop anything from happening to you, got it?” Quaritch reassures you sternly. “Besides, we got him chained up in the holding cell, so even if he does cause a ruckus, it won’t last long before he starts to tire out again.”
“You all are some sick bastards, huh? Just what do you plan on doing to that poor guy?”
“I’m glad you noticed, my little guinea pig. Why don’t you follow me, and I’ll show you?”
»»————- . ————-««
The walk to the holding cell wasn’t too far, but it sure as hell felt like it. Quaritch strode in front of you, guiding you to your next destination, with you following behind him, although it was a little hard to keep up with him due to his height as you required more steps to match each of his.
Both of you passed by many other laboratories that also had large and wide windows built in for you to look inside them. You saw a variety of Pandoran flora and fauna being experimented on. Just looking at them made you feel ill and your chest heavy with grief and guilt, wishing that you could take their pain and suffering away and apologise profusely for the cruelty of humanity.
But nothing made you more enraged until you walked past a window that allowed you an outside view of the ship, where you could see a gargantuan creature, twice the size of the now extinct blue whale, being held in a large drilling station. Its large mouth was propped open by heavy machinery, and you got a clear view of the roof of it.
“What’s happening to that animal?” you frantically asked as you ran up the window.
“That is what the natives call a tulkun. A somewhat similar creature to the blue whale. They’re drilling a hole through the roof of its mouth.” Quaritch replied, clearly annoyed with your sudden worry of said creature.
“What… what the actual fuck? Why are you people doing this? What do you gain from destroying everything you lay your filthy hands on!?” you screamed as tears brimmed your waterline before flowing down your cheeks.
“Jeez, when will you cease that endless whining of yours? What you need to understand is that Earth is no longer a habitable planet for humans anymore. Hunting those tulkuns allow the longevity of humans to prosper. The ‘amrita’ that’s collected from them can stop humans from aging completely. Imagine the wonders we could create, the future we could have if humans never have to worry about the inevitable end again.”
The selfishness of your kind never failed to astonish you even more than you were before. The ruthlessness and brutality of humans carried on to other extra-terrestrial life forms after the demolition of planet Earth’s countless number of beautiful creations. What was next on their list of destruction? To slaughter every single native of Pandora? Were you about to witness a mass xenocide take place sooner or later?
Before you could continue your morbid train of thought, the now disgruntled colonel grabbed you harshly by the arm, dragging you with him to the holding cell area, not paying your woeful cries any mind as you reluctantly trudged forward.
»»————- . ————-««
You soon found yourself standing in front of an empty cell. Before you could process anything, you were forcibly chucked inside, with Quaritch shutting the glass door to it and entering a code to keep you locked in, preventing any escape.
“Now, this is where you’ll be spending your nights at. You have everything you need here. We’ll bring you out for the observation exam tomorrow evening. In the meantime, why not get acquainted with your next-door neighbour?” Quaritch instructed before nodding towards the cell next to yours before walking away.
Once the colonel was out of sight, you turned your gaze to where he gestured at, and you saw the Na’vi from earlier, passed out onto the ground, curled up into a foetal position. The only barrier separating the two of you was a thick glass wall that had a few holes drilled into it to allow contact with each other. Upon closer inspection, he was shivering slightly, his face and torso were littered with cuts and bruises that weren’t there before when you first saw him. His hair, long and black with voluminous curls splayed out around his head and away from his face, giving you a clear view of his features. Your eyes then caught a glimpse of something around his neck, your stomach churned when you saw a chain attached to it, with the other end connecting to the wall. These bastards put a fucking collar and chain on this poor guy like he was some unhinged dog.
Seeing the Na’vi in this wretched state, being brought here against his will, placed in a cold and lifeless cell, not before receiving a few blows to his body, brought fresh tears to your already swollen eyes from crying so much. Your heart broke for him. He must have been incredibly frightened, being forcefully separated from his family and clan, taken here to have heinous experiments performed on him. You wondered if he had any idea of what was in store for him later. That notion easily gave you goosebumps all over as you worried about him.
You probably weren’t as subtle as you thought you were, as it seemed your sobs and sniffles alerted the sleeping Na’vi, who soon roused from his uncomfortable slumber. His eyes groggily opened and started looking around to inspect his surroundings. By the look on his face, you could sense a feeling of dread wash over him as he began to frantically touch every surface in the room, attempting to find an escape from this claustrophobic enclosure.
It didn’t take him too long for his eyes to meet yours once more. Upon the sight of you, his brows furrowed, his glare reignited the fury from earlier as he let out a seething growl. He then proceeded to pounce in your direction, ready to bash onto the glass barrier shielding you, when his chain collar put an abrupt stop to his assault. The force of the pull caused the distressed Na’vi to cough violently, as the spikes from the inside of the collar pierced his skin, drawing fresh crimson blood to flow down his neck.
Despite his ferocious attempt at ending you, you didn’t flinch back in fear this time. His actions only furthered the pain in your heart as you wailed harder at the sight of him, placing your hand onto the glass barrier, as if trying to reach out to him in solace.
This gesture of yours downright confused the Na’vi. If it wasn’t for the damn collar and the glass barrier, there was no doubt that a bloodbath would ensue. But here you were, bawling your eyes out, and not from fear, but from woe and despair which he could sense from your eyes. However, your behaviour seemed to make him grow suspicious, as he then backed away from the glass barrier and into a small corner of the cell, bringing his knees up to his chest while maintaining his glare on you.
Once you had collected yourself, you made a hasty and pathetic attempt at wiping your tears away, before glancing at him with a guilt-ridden look in your eyes. You contemplated whether to say anything to him, finding yourself to be lacking in any confidence in words. Your knowledge in his mother tongue wasn’t anywhere near fluent, but from the long and tedious lessons your parents had you sit through as a young child, you knew enough to probably say a few things in comfort, perhaps to help him in taking the edge of the tension even just a little bit. With a deep breath, you mustered up all the courage you had within and spoke your first words to him.
“If killing me could bring you peace, I hope I can grant it to you one day.”
Silence.
So quiet.
The eye contact between you two never faltered, but there was an alter in the Na’vi’s gaze as he looked at you in absolute astonishment. Hearing you speak his native tongue was something completely alien and foreign to him, as the fake Na’vis that captured him had never even spoke a lick of it. A melancholy feeling started to brew within his timid heart, an unfamiliar sensation that he had never experienced with anyone he had ever encountered before, much less a sky demon. It was almost as if he felt… remorseful for his actions from earlier. You could have said anything to ruffle his feathers even further, or perhaps rubbed his bad luck in his face, but instead, you wished to grant him a chance to kill you? Regret slowly trickled within him as he thought about what you said. But he couldn’t allow himself to fall for that so easily as it could be a trap you laid out to trick him into trusting you. Instead, he turned his back to you and laid down on the ground once more, closing his eyes in an attempt to sleep his shame away.
Upon his actions, you let out a deep sigh in dejection, looking down at your hands in your lap, wondering if you made a mistake in even saying anything to him. But his eyes didn’t hold the same ferocity from before anymore, so you could say that was a win in your book. Since the both of you were going to be seeing each other a lot more from now on, it would be best to at least get a little cordial with one another. You hope for him to be comfortable enough to trust you one day, but you knew that moment wouldn’t be in the near future for you any time soon. Looking at him once more, you wished him a silent good night then stood up to walk towards the bed before lying down on it, allowing yourself a few moments of tranquillity before drifting off to a soundless slumber.
»»————- . ————-««
You couldn’t exactly recall how you ended up in this situation, with your vision blurry and your hearing muffled. One thing was for certain, however. The surrounding air was extremely crisp, making a simple action such as breathing a gruelling task to carry out. Cold and rigid hair strands brushed against your numb cheeks, with more and more wintry frost starting to form from the wetness of your locks. Your attempts at making any sort of movement were futile, as you felt something engulf you firmly, not wanting to let you go, almost as you would cease to exist if that were to happen.
You felt your eyelids growing weaker, your heartbeat getting slower by the minute, when you felt gentle caresses against the flow of your head. The motion brought you back to a time when you were still a young child, your mother stroking your head lovingly to wake you up in the morning.
Was that what this was? Were you back in your childhood home, with your mother gently rousing you from your sweet slumber? Your eyes soon fluttered open as they met the affectionate gaze of your beloved mom. You couldn’t help but tear up at the sight of her, as you had been missing her with all your heart.
“What’s wrong, sweetheart? Why are you crying?” your mother asked, looking at you worriedly.
“Nothing, mama. I just… really missed you.” you answered back in a child-like voice, which stunned you a little.
Ah, it seemed to be a memory of some sort.
“Aww, honey. I’ve missed you, too.” your mother beamed before planting a kiss on your forehead. “But dear, it’s time for you to get up.”
“But mama, can we stay here a little bit longer?” you begged.
“No, you have to get up now.” your mother retorted, sternly this time.
“Mama, why are you-“
A tight grip onto your hair cut off your speech. You reached up to your head to pry your mother’s hand off when you locked eyes with her, which now held a hateful glare in them. This wasn’t like her at all, she had never been violent or raised your voice at you. What happened to the sweet, loving woman you grew up with?
“Get the fuck up before I make you, you lazy bitch!”
»»————- . ————-««
“Hurry and get your ass up, young lady! I don’t have time to put up with your bullshit today.” a female recom avatar exclaimed, tossing your blanket off you before dragging you harshly onto the floor of the cell.
Another recom soldier came up next to her and tossed you some fresh clothing, a towel and dental care set.
“Go freshen yourself up and be ready in thirty minutes. You’ve got a long day ahead of you.” He ordered before leaving with the female recom.
You begrudgingly stood up to your feet before picking up the items and set them on the foot of your bed, stripping yourself from your old clothing and stepping into the shower of your cell. Once the water cascaded onto your face, you allowed your sorrows to blend in with it. Of all the dreams you could be having why did it have to be that one? Was your mind so dead set on bringing you more misery than what you had been put through so far? The human brain can sometimes play really cruel jokes on someone’s psyche. You occasionally wondered whether you were losing it or not.
Stepping out of the shower with a towel wrapped around you, you made your way to the sink and began brushing your teeth. After spitting into the sink and wiping away any excess toothpaste off your lips, you splashed some cold water onto your face, giving yourself the needed jolt to start your day off with. You looked into the mirror at your tired features. The bloodshot eyes and dark circles were evidence of your restless night, and lips chapped from dehydration.
Looking behind you through the mirror, you got a view of the other cell that held the Na’vi man. You hoped to catch a glimpse of him in the morning, but you didn’t see a sign of his presence. Turning around to face the other side, you found yourself staring at an empty cell, everything in it was left untouched from last night. The only thing that was missing was the collar and chain.
Where could he have gone?
Where did they take him?
Those were the questions that you would soon find yourself regret asking.

A little prompt from @hyperfixatedfandomer: Final part of this song is so “Spider rips out the tracker and runs into the darkness of Pandora while Quaritch is on his heels like a feral thanator in a horror novie” coded
The song in question:
1.3k, canon typical action, violence, swearing
Spider had never heard a louder sound than that of his thundering heartbeat banging against his eardrums. His breathing came in gasps as the stitch in his chest throbbed painfully. He couldn’t stop running.
A monster was behind him.
Every split second counted in the race for his life. The adrenaline coursing through his veins powered him onwards without his full awareness or knowledge of anything else going on around him. Branches scraped past his arms and face but he couldn’t feel the pain they left behind. Faster, faster…
He could feel rather than hear Quaritch catching up to him. Any moment now enormous hands could close around him, pulling him down and the terror of it kept his feet hitting the ground at a dizzying rhythm.
He couldn’t stop. He couldn’t slow down.
The first few seconds of his escape had been a blur. Things had happened too fast for him to be able to remember clearly - but what he did know was this: he’d seized the opportunity when the recom Colonel had turned his back on Spider on the trail. He’d tensely removed the mask that he relied upon so dearly for oxygen, and fumbled around in a panic induced state to wrench the tracker from the plastic casing. He didn’t know how, but he’d managed it. Almost as soon as he’d realized his triumph, Quaritch turned back to look for him, just in time to see Spider hurl the tracker as far away as possible, throw the mask back onto his face and high tail it into the trees.
He’d lost track of how long it had been since then. Seconds? Minutes? An hour? He couldn’t afford to waste time working it out. He leapt from the floor onto a huge fallen tree trunk, barely stopping to get his footing before he was off, the ground now several feet below him and all kinds of plants hitting his mask and getting caught in his hair.
“Spider!” He heard an angry roar from somewhere behind.
He wasn’t going to stop. This was his chance. If he could lose Quaritch now, he’d be free. He could even find his way back to High Camp eventually - he was sure of it.
“STP RIGHT THERE!!” Quaritch roared.
He didn’t stop to look around, but the hairs on the back of his neck stood up. He sounded close, almost within reach…
The ghosts of Quaritch’s fingertips brushed against the small of his back, and he let out a shriek of fear as he pushed himself on. But his brain made a fatal miscalculation when judging where to place his foot. In his panic, he slipped to the left and he couldn’t regain his balance before it was too late. He was falling, all the way down to the ground and landing clumsily on his knees.
“Stay down, Spider!”
He gasped and picked himself up as quickly as he could - but it wasn’t quick enough. Quaritch had only been one or two strides behind him. In a moment of terror that brought the whole world to a standstill, huge blue arms came around him, pulling him back down to the earth, back down to defeat…
He cried out as he rolled on to his back, a rage filled recombinant on top of him, pinning him down. He barely recognised the face as that of his father. Quaritch’s eyes were wide and distorted with fury, and Spider was sure that for a split second, they turned red.
He didn’t know where the idea came from - he was barely aware of his body’s actions - but before he knew it he had brought his knee up to kick Quaritch in the chest, and at the same time flung his head forward to bash his mask against the Colonel’s nose. The simultaneous assault was enough for Quaritch to loosen his hold on Spider’s left arm, and he seized the opportunity to claw at Quaritch’s eyeball.
“FUCK,” Quaritch screamed as he pulled away, and in the heat of the moment Spider was able to wriggle backwards on his elbows and flip over, scrambling out of Quaritch’s hold on the forest floor.
“No you don’t!” roared Quaritch, blinded not only by the injury Spider had left him but also with anger. He lunged for Spider’s leg, which Spider kicked out against as soon as he felt the vice-like grip close around his calf.
It wasn’t enough.
Spider knew it.
Na’vi were simply too big and too strong, and now that Quaritch had a hold of him he felt his heart plummet through the ground and out the other side of Pandora. Eywa, help him.
“Come here!” Quaritch grunted, dragging Spider back by the ankle. Spider fought with everything he had. Clinging onto anything within his reach and kicking out as hard as he could with both legs, he scrambled for purchase on the wet floor.
“Get off!” he screamed through his shocked throat, knowing that physically he couldn’t fight anymore, having to rely on words alone in some desperate hope that the monster would release him. The fear had well and truly sunk into his soul, absorbed by his very bones. He would never forget this fear.
“Let me go!” he screamed again, his final ploy for escape as he hopelessly slid against the ground towards Quaritch.
“Oh yeah?” Quaritch leered over him from above, the bloody cut above his eye giving him a manic expression. “You’ll stay where you’re damn put!”
Spider was too terrified to say anything else - the game was up. It was over. He froze, capable of nothing more than staring up into the eyes that had haunted him since they first met. He was glad he was wearing a mask because it felt like the aura that Quaritch was radiating was enough to burn the skin from his face.
“Damn you!” Quaritch shouted, shaking Spider where he had his wrists pinned on the ground.
If the recom didn’t relent soon, the pressure he was exerting on Spider’s small hands would surely be enough to break them.
The hisses from Spider’s mask were coming quick and heavy, so depleted of oxygen was he, but he still had enough left in him to hiss at Quaritch so ferally that even Neytiri would be proud.
“That all you got to say for yourself? I’m done trying to be nice. I should just throw you back to Ardmore…” Quaritch easily transferred both of Spider’s hands into one of his, while reaching for a pair of snapcuffs and securing them around Spider’s wrists. He seemed to think for a moment, before pulling Spider to standing and then throwing him over his shoulders.
“Stop!” Spider protested, but it was like pleading with a rhinoceros for all the good it did him. Instead, he thrashed as harshly as he could against Quaritch’s hold. “What are you gonna do? I’m gonna get away eventually!”
Quaritch ignored him totally. With too much force than was necessary, he jammed Spider’s feet together over the other side of his shoulders and secured them with another set of cuffs.
“Let me GO!” he howled, realizing he was as powerless as a fish out of water, draped over the 9 foot tall recom’s back.
“Why did I ever bother?” Quaritch fumed as he made the long way back to the trail where the rest of the squad were waiting. “Do you realize what you’re doing? Don’t you see that I’m your best bet right now?”
“You think you’re better than Bridgehead?” Spider snapped back. “I’d take a thousand needles to the brain before I trust you!”
Quaritch said nothing to this.
A moment later when Wainfleet came into view, racing through the trees to find them. “Colonel! You got him… good.” He was out of breath, and Spider hadn’t realized how far they’d run or how quickly, if Wainfleet was only now catching up.
“Yeah, I got him,” Quaritch growled. “Take him, I’ve had enough.”
Spider was roughly pulled off the Colonel’s shoulders and passed over to Wainfleet like a sack of potatoes.
“And don’t let him wiggle. He’s slippery.”

I want to really start writing love thy enemy chapter 2 but I don't know how to start it. The main point of chapter is done.
I guess I have to make this a drabble. I want to write how Reader Chan met Lyle Wainfleet.
Tumblr media
It doesn't add up to the story. I don't want this scene to go to waste. Here you go.
Tumblr media
You were admiring the cute little feline animal the Colonel caught for you when he was on tour in the jungle. After you began to date him. He made not only your life but your friend's lives good.
Like today, he and his elite team protected the some scientist while they collected whatever they wanted from the Pandora jungle. Risking their lives for a group of people they hate.
The Marine soldiers were curious why their leader was nice to those science pukes. Of course they couldn't ask their superior.
The Colonel was annoyed that you begged him not to make the relationship public. He felt offended. Were embarrassed to be with him? You told him how you wanted him to speak to your dad first and wait a few weeks. You never loved a man before. Minus the jerk who wanted to marry you back on Earth just for your pretty face. He broke your heart.
So, of course you have trust issues. The Colonel video chatted your dad. Your dad was actually upset. The Colonel was perhaps only ten years younger than him. Might as well be his younger brother and your uncle!
Your dad knew you liked older men. But not this old! But, your father remembered how like your mother. You and her were subjugated all their lives. A pretty doll. That's it. The young generations didn't value love and went for lust only. So, he reluctantly gave his blessings to the Colonel.
The Colonel didn't like your dad. Quaritch felt offended when he saw the rich man look at him with distaste. He didn't need to rub in his age.
Whatever. Your father was a handsome lad, Quaritch admitted. But, Quaritch also pitied the older man. He looked tired from all his philanthropy shit and childish optimism goals. Your father will kill himself from exhaustion.
Now, Quaritch would sneak around the base. Fucking the shit out of you whenever he had the chance no matter how busy you were with your work. He wanted to touch you in public like holding your hand and show affections and yes that included kissing.
From the what the Colonel told you, the feline cat already lost his mom. And you believed his men were not the reason for the mothers death.
So, you were playing with it while waiting for Max to record some video logs Jake was producing.
"Hey." A male voice boomed.
You looked up to see a shaved head Marine with muscles and tattoos. Is he a friend of Jake?
"Mind if I touch your pussy?" He grinned.
Everyone around the room became quiet. Your mouth dropped in shock. You never been insulted so bluntly and in public before. Not even on Earth!
The jerk snickered at your expression. "I meant your cat." He pointed at the now hissing feline.
You glared and stood up. He blinked and wondered what will you do. You slapped him! His face was moved to the side.
"Get away from her!" Jake yelled while he rolled his wheelchair over to you.
The bald guy turned his face back at you and held his hands up in mocking surrender. He told Jake that the Colonel wanted to speak with him.
They both left the lab and all your friends huddled over to comfort you. You were shaking and still scared that you were sexually harassed in broad daylight.
The Colonel spoke to Jake and then noticed something was off. Lyle and Jake never got along but the tension was worse. Whatever. He got enough problems on his plate.
The Colonel was upset that you were not in his office. It was his lunch break. He told you to meet him there.
He got annoyed when you didn't text back and he had enough. He rudely barged in the science wing of the other pukes. He ignored the stares when the other scientists noticed his presence in their lab bedrooms.
He kicked your door open.
He found you in your bed with that short and fat scientist Max and another female Medic rubbing your shoulder. You looked up with your teary eyes to see your secret lover.
The Colonel ordered your friends to leave.
"The Fuck were you?" His eyes softened when he saw your dead expression. Your boyfriend sat next to you in your bed.
You blurted what happened.
"What did the soldier look like?"
Quaritch was angry when you described him as his Marine.
You shrugged. "I don't know. He said you sent him to pick up Sully for a report."
In cold fury, Quaritch clenched his jaw. "Lyle." He hissed.
Tumblr media
The Colonel grabbed your chin and made you look at him. "I am going to make us public. I don't know why you want to keep this a secret. You're not safe unless people know you belong to me."
Your eyes widened. It's too soon. You didn't tell your friends yet.
"But ..."
The Colonel's look made you shut up.
He told you how you are to go his room immediately. You better be there when he comes back. He will send female staff soldiers to bring your belongings to his quarters. Or should you say your quarters.
While you were waiting for your boyfriend at his room. The Colonel was looking for Lyle. He went to the gym. The bunks and then the pilot garage.
There stood Wainfleet and other soldiers.
When they saw the Colonel walk they saluted him with respect. The Colonel wordlessly punched Lyle in the abs which caused him to clutch his stomach from pain.
The others stared in shock.
"Stay away from my girl." Quaritch snarled as he looked down at Wainfleet's pathetic form on the ground.
Lyle looked up in confusion.
Quaritch explained. "Name belongs to me. If I catch you disrespecting her again you will be resigned from your corporal status."
He looked at the others. "That goes for the rest of you."
"Yes, Sir!" They said in unison.
You were sitting on the king sized bed of your new room. You watched buff female staff bring in your belongings and your cat was sleeping on your lap.
The Colonel came in and visibly relaxed after seeing you obey him. He didn't wait for the staff to leave. He sat next to you and kissed you. "I am sorry I couldn't protect you. But, it's your fault in a way. If everyone knew about us. They wouldn't hurt you."
You laid your head on his shoulder blade. "I'm sorry for being foolish."
He wrapped his arm around you. He knew the female staff would gossip. Good. Everyone must know who you belonged to.
He was still on his lunch break...
The Colonel smirked. He ordered the staff to leave and stripped you and noticed the cat staring at him as he nailed into you.
This was why the Colonel preferred dogs.

Come here
Na'vi Quaritch x Human reader
I was about to write the spicy stuff but....I can't. Not yet. I need time to prepare myself for that. Which means I will definetly write more Quaritch. Can't let my hyperfixation fade, right?
Despite Miles reminding you last time you kept your shenanigans up. When walking past him you let your hands lightly touch his tail tip sometimes even giving his hair a tiny tug. Not stopping for anything you kept walking, sometimes looking over your shoulder and giving him a cheeky grin.
You had annoyed him the past couple days that way and often times you two never did the chance to meet up and have some time together due to missions or patrols but this day. Oh, this day it all came back to you. For the rest of the day you had free, all your tasks already done and nobody needed you now so with a sigh you sat down on the chair of you room.
Closing your eyes with yet another sigh your quite was ruined by a knock. Curious who it might be you let them in and looking back to your door it slid open and the tall figure of an Avatar came through. Bending under the small door frame, definitely not made for alien height, his face was neutral but when his eyes met yours you could see something inside them.
"Finally I catch you alone Y/N", he said going to your bed and sitting down. The ceiling was slightly higher than the door frame yet he still needed to walk crouched as to not bump his head. He leaned backwards against the wall with his arms crossed and a grin on his lips. His canines poking out from under his lip. Miles tail was swishing from left to right as it lay beside him, not in a leisurely way as usual but quite agitated.
"Come here", the two words coming out of his mouth as one of his usual commands, voice rough and deep. His body leaned forward, elbows propped on his knees as he watched you like a predator.
Intrigued you stood up and got closer, just close enough for him to touch you if he stretched out his hands. "You had been a bad girl/boy", his voice was audible only for you as his hands came forward to grab you by your hips and pulled you closer. His right hand trailed upwards to your chin to grab it lightly between his index and thumb. His thumb stroking your skin. "I guess I have to remind you who your dealing with", Quaritch pulled you on his lap that you straddled him, you like pudding in his hands and letting him do it. First he kissed you lightly though with every second the two of you got needier. The heat between your bodies almost grab able as his left hand found it's way under your shirt. His tail had curled around your leg to keep you locked in place.
The continuing hours he did remind you of who he was and what he would do to your. Would it stop you from annoy him with tugging his tail? Probably not.

The inches in between us. (Exile)
Tumblr media
After you have finally escaped the brutality of Quaritch, your feet wandered carelessly to Eywa-knows where. With no clan to return to, you will never guess where you end up at— the root of it all.
“How could I have brought war back to you if it never left the first place? Do not put the blame on me, oh great mighty warrior, I have already been long shouldering my clan’s battle cries— you have no idea.” (second part)
Content and warnings: Jake Sully x Reader! Age gap (reader is in her 20s while jake is mid 30s.) Mention of violence. no neytiri, she dead here yall. think this part has 3.3k words!!!
“You asked for me, sa’nok?” You entered the tent that held medicine and all sorts of cure. You slowly stride inside, careful not to break any glass or to step on important plants and such.
You see her mushing herbs on the corner, her eyebrows knitted together in complete focus— always the overworking Tsahik. You walk towards her, letting your presence known with a soft nudge. She greets you with a smile, urging you to sit beside her.
“As you already know, you are at the age of..” Your mother takes a deep breath, not even bothering to look at your already annoyed expression. “finding a mate—“
“Oh Eywa, not this again.” You rolled your eyes, removing her hand from your thigh.
“Give this man a chance, my sweet child.” She coos, stroking your back in soothing circles. You take in the moment to feel her calloused hands on your skin— the comfort of a mother. “Forgive and you will find love.”
Your eyes open to an unfamiliar ceiling, worry immediately churning your stomach. You were unable to move; fatigue and stiffness immediately overtaking your senses. It was almost unbearable, if not for the healing pastes and cure. The hurt that struck your entirety had also been a reminder to where you were at the moment.
You stood unsteadily, trying to carefully stretch the pain out from your joints. If it was your mother who had healed you, you’d immediately meet a slap on the forehead for moving already— but she wasn’t here and you were nowhere near your home.
The flap from the hut opens, revealing Neteyam. He greets you with a swift nod and you reply with the usual gesture. “My father lends you these,” He extends the clothes from his hands and you take it hesitantly. “He waits for you near training quarters. Ask any of the people here and they will take you there.”
The cloth was woven delicately; the few beads attached glimmered under the morning’s light, almost as if it asked me to handle it with absolute care. Surely, this was someone else’s— unless the people here were fast on their hands, but it was unlikely. The loincloth was a simple brown with distinguishable accents, one of the few patterns that the Omatikaya wear.
“Is it not to your liking?” He interrupted, stepping forward and reaching for the clothes. Your head instantly raised to meet his eyes, only to realize his gaze stayed on the garments on your hands. A minute or so might’ve passed while examining it. “I can ask for another—“
You immediately shook your head, “I was simply admiring it. Irayo, Neteyam.”
He was hesitant, you’ve realized; his lips would open, only to shut it close again. Neteyam’s face contorts into frustration, sharply turning his head to where he entered earlier with a sigh. “Whatever purpose you serve here, it better be for good. We’ve long washed our hands from war.”
You were beyond confused and before you could even ask, he hurriedly exited the hut. There’s a sharp pang of hurt rapidly growing on your chest— seizing what’s left of it to feel and crushing the already scattered pieces to fine dust. You couldn’t blame him anyway; you appeared to him in distress, bloodied and hurt. On top of that, you didn’t have the chance to introduce yourself properly. You came barging in without any explanation and they accepted you nonetheless.
It was conflicting. You wanted to be mad at them— cause a wildfire and let them watch as everything becomes ash to nothing. An eye for an eye.
–
The people took you there, as said by Neteyam. There stood the Toruk Makto discussing with another warrior, but as you walked towards them, you were greeted with the unfamiliar apparel worn by the other. You were alarmed at the avatar standing alongside Jake Sully and you immediately changed your stance into a defensive one. You hissed as you drew out your bow.
“Mawey, mawey!” Jake approached you with both hands up as his friend cowered on the corner. You bared your teeth as he acted as a barrier between you two. “This is Norm—“
“Demon!”
“‘eylan, he means no harm.” He gently lowered your weapon, yet your gaze never faltered. Jake nudged you, tilting his head to Norm while whispering a ‘come on, tell him your name.’
“__ te Kuweyi Ralì'ite” You snarled as he sheepishly waved in return.
The three of you gathered further in the quarters. Jake had urged you to explain; to tell them your side of story— and you did, though inside you were terribly conflicted. You told them the whereabouts of your clan while they ruled out possibilities of where the enemies could be. Begrudgingly, you told them of their lab. You remembered being carried there within the night it happened— they must have been near.
Norm had decided to investigate that very area. If it was a huge lab, then there was no reason for them to abandon it carelessly. It didn’t matter if Quaritch wouldn’t be present, but as long as there were crumbs to follow or even a few dream walkers to interrogate, it would be enough. Jake approved the plan, although hesitantly, he couldn’t risk the safety of his clan anymore.
The whole time, Jake kept stealing glances. He stared in a scrutinizing manner and assessed you carefully. He studied your little actions— how your ears moved according to the emotion you showed, the small snarl you made every time the sky people were mentioned, and the way your head tilts whenever you couldn’t understand.
You stood there across him and it was like he had known you for a long time.
“This could be a one way trip as long as there are no stops or rests,” Norm explains, towering the tiny map and tracing the places “but I don’t fancy flying an ikran while it’s already dim out, so we’ll split it to a day and a half.”
“I lost my Ikran,” Half a lie, again; she might be dead and you would never know. The thought makes you wince, your ears dropping. “Haven’t seen her since I ran away.”
“You’ll ride with Jake,” Norm decides and there was no room for negotiation. He wanted this to be over with, praying that you’re only mistaken— but who would attack as unmerciful as them?
“You better be right about this, __” Jake’s attention turned to you, “Let’s move out immediately.”
Being the responsible Olo'eyktan he is, he gathered everyone to announce his sudden departure. You stared at the eager crowd, listening intently to what he had to say. The mention of the sky people’s return faltered the clan, argument immediately roared among everyone. He’ll be back, two days tops— they all arrive at an understanding. The people grab onto him, forming some sort of chain that connected everyone all at once. Jake Sully had unbelievable authority; he knew all too well how to deal with the responsibility everyone had thrusted into him and you admired him in this perspective.
You and Norm stayed with the Ikran. You watched him cautiously as he made use of the time to tinker around and check. Jake had to be with his children first— explain to them more clearly. It stung him to leave them like this, but Mo’at had assured him countless times that they’d be safe with her.
His figure appears from the bushes, his eldest son trailing behind. Neteyam gave you a side glance, lowering his head in shame as he remembered the scene he caused earlier.  He couldn’t look you in the eyes— not like this. It made his stomach churn nauseously.
“You’re in charge Neteyam,” Jake greets his Ikran, caressing it gently. “You know what to do.” His son answers in a swift yes sir, watching as his father mounts Bob.
He offers you his hand, lifting you with ease off the ground. As you sat behind him, only then did Neteyam finally looked at you. His gaze was menacing— a silent threat. It was impossible to grab onto Jake for leverage, not with his son shooting daggers between your proximity.
“You might want to hold on,” Jake turns to you,  “It’s been a while since I had someone aboard with Bob.”
“Bob?” You ask indecorously, “Oh Eywa, save this poor Ikran.”
—
“Are we there yet?” You ask for the nth time. You’d be burning in embarrassment, if it wasn’t for the weariness that struck you whole.
Jake would be a big liar if he said it didn’t bother him how you asked every minute. The way you slipped in and out of consciousness didn’t help either, as he had to hold you securely and nudge you back awake. It caused them to slow down every time and he wasn’t gonna deal with that during the whole flight ahead. With an idea popping just above his head like a lightbulb, he cleared his mind and fastened Bob’s pace.
“Jake,” You tried to threaten, but the breathiness of your voice did little to scare him off. You grabbed his forearms, scared that you’d fall from the sudden shift in movement increasing by the second. “I pray to Eywa for strength that I do not pluck your eyes out!”
Bob sharply swerved, listening intently to what Jake ordered. He dangerously flew near the deformed terrain, through thick mosses and vines— at this point, you were Jake’s second skin with how close you were gripping onto him; your cheek dug tightly against his back. You could feel his laugh vibrating through his body, his shoulders shaking.
In front you was two lands connected by thick ropes of plants, an opening right in the middle that you were sure no Ikran could pass through. Jake took that as a sign, lowering his body in thrill. (This man’s arch is crazy)
“Hold on,” His arm snaked through your waist, pulling you closer if it was any more possible. As much as you wanted to shut your eyes, it remained open in anticipation. This was it, you thought, this was where Eywa will finally finish you off.
To your surprise, you got through easily, the harsh gravel only scratching parts of your skin. You laugh, almost maniacally— the laugh of pure relief. You hoisted yourself up, kneeling on the Ikran’s back and grabbing onto Jake’s shoulders. You raised your hand, balling it up to a fist with a shout. The adrenaline was clearly washing your drowsiness and it was quickly replaced with a sensation you had dreaded for the very moment you were at the ripe age for training.
Jake was now the one feeling uneasy as he held your thigh down in place, extremely worried— but from his peripheral vision, you burned brightly and he couldn’t help but to admire you like a moth to a flame. The scenery blurred in the background and for a minute, there was peace.
Darkness soon engulfed Pandora’s entirety. You quickly settled in for the night, resting on a cave-like spot— there was water situated near its opening, perfect for needed relief. Jake scouted the area to rid of any possible risk, as both you and Norm helped cozy up the place. Soon, pieces of cloth surrounded the fire and everyone made themselves comfortable.
There was silence and it wasn’t the one you could rest to. It was the kind of quiet that begged to be filled— for someone to talk.
“You are the daughter of both Tsahik and Olo'eyktan,” Jake disrupted the silence, his eyes unmoving. You answered with a swift yes, curious to where this conversation will lead. “Then I suppose you are betrothed?”
You stifle a laughter, covering your already growing smile. You remember the multiple warriors lining up for your hand, but you would turn them down just as eager as they first came. Your freedom was too important to be given up— you disliked being tied down, especially when they only attempt to seduce the title you hold. This was the cause of plenty of misunderstandings between your parents as well, but you couldn’t be bothered to comply.
“No men could please me.” You simply answered, shaking your head as it hung low with a smug grin. “And you? You already have a handful of kids, doubt there’s no one holding your heart close.”
Silence enveloped everyone once again and this time, it achingly went by. You gazed at Jake in anticipation, only to see him fidgeting with the loose cloth from your top.
“Neytiri,” Jake started, his still eyes watching the dancing flame grow higher, “Neytiri was my mate. The first time we met, she almost killed me and right there and then, I knew it was love.” His tone was humorous, but the hurt was unmistakable between every breathy laugh.
“All energies are borrowed– at some point, you have to give it back. Even,” He palmed his face, sighing deeply. Everything constantly reminded him of her; the date nights, the simple cackle of the fire– you in her goddamn clothes. It’s been years already and Neytiri’s flame never once faltered on the back of his mind. She was there, always ready to visit him in dreams. “Even if they were promised to you.”
You sat there, ears dropping in condolences. It drove him insane; you were there, almost as if Eywa had sent you for compensation– to be here in her absence. How else would Mo’at let you stay, in guise of the great mother’s will? Why else would Jake let his wife’s belongings be worn by you?
You sat there and it hurt.
“Eywa holds her dear, Jake.” You hesitantly caressed his fist and he swore right here and then, your touch had caused fire to a part of him long gone. It was there, beating madly– but beating nonetheless. He shuts his eyes, letting the feeling bask in every fiber of his being.
It’s shameless– dancing with the devil. Just days ago, you wanted to wreak havoc; you wanted him gone and all you want now was to cradle him close. It was like the great mother had let you see him in a different light– in a different perspective. Was this her will? You thought, to be devastatingly in love with an already tortured soul?
You shook your head, trying desperately to discard those thoughts out of your mind. You stood up, withdrawing your hand from his. “It’s best if we rest now, we have another day tomorrow.”
He coughs, averting his gaze and following in suit. Jake only nods, settling beside an already snoring Norm and patting the empty space beside him. You walk towards his tensed figure, laying with your back against his.
You took a deep breath and tried to sleep.
Norm stared with his mouth agape. Whether you both slept already in that position– he didn’t know. Your back was against Jake’s chest, his arms around you tightly. It sparked a familiar sight, almost of him and Neytiri once after their first defiance. You would stir in your sleep and he’d hold you closer in response– scared you’d leave with even the smallest of gap between your bodies, and yet you two slept soundly.
It almost pained him to wake Jake up, knowing it had been a while since he had seen him like this, but they were on a mission and he’d be damned if would risk the lives of plenty. Norm gently taps him awake, and in an instant, his eyes shoot open.
Jake notices almost immediately the proximity you both are in. Heat rushes to his ears as he hurriedly retracts his arm and backs away. This was wrong, this was– this was what he desperately yearned for all the years lost from her absence.
“Jesus Christ, Norm,” He dismissed the knowing glance from his friend and started nudging you awake. “Get up, we have a long day ahead,”
You woke up, absolutely confused with how they towered you with heavy gazes.
After short preparations, you mounted his Ikran again and immediately continued with your journey. This time, there were no detours nor rests. Oddly enough, you could feel how his breath would hitch every time you’d tighten your hold around his waist. It was like you burned his skin every time you’d come close. He was nervous– no, frustrated. This was wrong. You were wrong and he didn’t have the strength in him to push you away.
Finally, you arrived at a make-shift lab, hidden between the tall trees of Pandora. It already seemed abandoned, however; No signs of any crumbs to pick on nor any life. You hesitantly followed after Jake and Norm, trying your hardest not to come in contact with any of the unfamiliar machineries and gadgets. There was a lump situated on your throat while examining the place.
You’ve been here. You desperately try to recall those agonizing days; how they captured you, brought you here– maneuvered your body, but those memories only come in a distant haze. You can’t remember it– you didn’t want to.
“This place has been long ditched,” The coast was deemed clear and for a minute, you felt relieved. “We came here for nothing.”
“But it proves something, Jake, they’re here again.” Norm tries to prove a point, grabbing him by the shoulder.
“Exactly! They’re here and we knuckleheads are exploring an already abandoned lab– they could be anywhere already.”
“We could not have known,” You intervene, trying to defuse the tension. “Let’s not waste time and return already.”
Before any of you could take a step, static interrupts everyone’s movements. He expected the voice of his sons, probably reporting him of another ruckus they caused– however, what followed made his heart leap out of his chest and caused an old flame to rekindle.
“Can you hear me, Corporal?” A pause, “Yeah, I think you can.”
“Listen, I have your children. These little rascals could really use some serious discipline– figured they should know better when they’re talking to someone older.” He laughed on the other line. Jake could hear their voices in the background– his children, desperately calling their dear father for help.
Then for a second, there was Neytiri. Guilt reprimanded him yet again for failing her– for failing everyone. He deprived his children of their mother and he was miles away today from saving them. A father protects– that’s what gives him meaning; however, with the circumstances that stood laughing at his face today, Jake Sully knew he was already a lost man.
“How are you– where,” He wracked his brain for the right words, the deadly situation slowly getting the best of him. He composed himself with a deep inhale,  “Where did you find us?
“Followed someone, you might’ve met her.” It’s a straight strike to the stomach and he could feel his very breath yanked harshly from his chest. Quaritch clicked his tongue, his eyes darted on the blinking red dot on the GPS from where you stood far far away from them. “In fact, she must be busying you right now, huh? It’s been a while since I’ve seen you slacking.”
In an instant, his eyes turned to you. If looks could kill, his sharp gaze would cut through your throat with ease. You were certain that his teeth would shatter with the way he clenched his jaw. The aura Jake emitted was murderous; the unknown predators that littered the forest was nothing with the Toruk Makto in front of you, ready to pounce– ready to kill.
“You’re a dead man, Quaritch.” A chuckle from the other line.
“I’ll be waiting.”
You were done for.

☆ mauve here! just want to clear a few things up because god damn, this is becoming a bit far from being canon (which actually is, since i’m not following the storyline accordingly) BUT as far as i remember, norm does not own an ikran(??) so for the sake of this series (bear with me) just imagine that he does 😭
this series did not spark joy. i don’t think i did much justice— i’m still really rusty from months of inactivity. this is what i get for putting all my writing on hold
will edit this from time to time, as i do so with my other works because i’m indecisive like that. mauve out >:[

I have an idea for how the scene with Miles after Spider saves him could have gone and I want to share it.
Spider stands in the water watching Miles wake up blankly and filled with exhaustion, when he finally does and asks Spider to come with him, he considers going with Miles who patiently awaits his answer. Spider makes eye contact and Miles sees the fire inside, stronger than the day he captured him, strong enough to rip through waves, strong enough to crumble mountains, strong enough to knock down the largest of trees on Pandora, and knows what ever Spider decides he will have to respect.
“I won’t go with some RDA lap dog or someone who hunts others, if you plan on doing ether again then I wasn’t and never will be your son.” Spider answers with a monotone voice and fire in his eyes. He knows calling Miles a lap dog might be a bit much considering he didn’t ask to be grown in a lab and given the memory of a genasidle maniac but he needs Miles to know how serous he is.
Does he go, does he not? Ending is up to you.
Quaritch is positively shell-shocked. Just not a long time ago he was forced to choose between his mission and his son, and failed miserably by choosing the former. Now, Spider yet again forced him to make a choice but this time on a much larger scale and the recom cursed him inwardly.
Killing Sully is his life’s purpose, it’s all he was put on this godforsaken planet to do, and he had to go back to Bridgehead to recuperate and make up anew plan. On the other hand however, was Spider. Quaritch wasn’t alone anymore, the mission was no longer all he had…because he had Spider. He kidnapped him and kept hostage for months but they grew close and had good moments, moments that Miles wanted to experience more of and it seemed like the blonde did to.
Because there he was, wanting to go with him…but only on the condition that they don’t return fo the RDA.
He winced as his brain felt like splitting, one half, the implanted human memories, screaming at him to grab the boy and go back to base.
The other however, screamed to drop all of it. The mission was just that, a mission, and it could never, ever, replace the chance at fatherhood that Spider was so gracefully giving him.
Spider kept staring at him, but seeing confusion in Quaritch’s eyes, the hope I’m his gaze disappeared. Instead, the boy frowned in disappointment. “Right…” he said, seemingly remembering who he was taking to and turned around when suddenly, a paid of big hands pulled him close.
Miles stood on his knees now, embracing the boy, not daring to let go.
The recom was deeply conflicted, but he couldn’t, just couldn’t let the kid go. Not matter what.
And with great sadness, Spider leaned in. The last 24 hours were insane to say the least, and his shoulders were heavy with grief for everyone they’ve lost.
After a moment that felt rather like a century, Quaritch finally pulled away and Spider heard him say something so surreal he thought he had gotten crazy.
“Allright.” Quaritch agreed, holding his son’s arms. “Where do we go from here then?”

A bit of a short response but I hope you liked it!

Miles Quaritch x OC
My Little Scientist- Chapter Six
Warnings: light smut, violence, swearing, minors DNI
3,300 words (this ones a bit longer than usual)
Chapter 7
Tumblr media
Her knees were shaking somewhat as she made her way over to the general's office, a woman with higher clearance than even the Colonel. However, It was necessary, as she knew if she asked Miles, his reaction would be commanding her to never speak on the issue again. She needed her to say yes, to be convinced by her and she knew only one way to do this: appealing to her clinical nature, there was nothing more important to her than the mission and Gaia understood that much.
"Hello, General. Would I be able to speak with you for a moment."
She met her eyes slowly, a murderous gaze settling on her face at the sight of her,
"and who might you be?"
"Gaia Ambros ma'am, scientist in the botany department, recently completed a mission in Pandora."
She stood tall against her glare, trying to present herself to her in a positive light.
"Yes, I remember you. What do you want? And make it quick,"
she spoke in aggravation, tapping her pen against the desk, as if to bring more attention to how much of her time she was wasting.
"I would like to request placement on the upcoming mission ma'am."
Ignoring the General's irritation, she kept her eyes forward, addressing her the same way she'd watched the recoms speak to Miles.
"And why exactly would I do that? You were only on that mission at the Colonel's request, what authority do you have?"
She snorted, faking bemusement, but she could see the seething anger laying beneath her smile.
"I'm aware of that ma'am but I believe I would be a useful asset to the team. During our last mission I was able to heal wounds on the recombinants using my knowledge of the Pandoran flora,"
she explained, keeping her voice at a monotone so as not to show her fear. This, however, appeared to pique her interest, fully looking over her at last as she took in her words.
"I suppose having someone that knows the Na'vi culture could be a useful asset,"
she pondered before continuing,
"why is it exactly that you want to be on this mission? You do know what it entails, there will be casualties.”
Gaia nodded her head, rushing out a,
“yes ma’am, I want to fight for my species to give humans another chance at life.”
To solidify her intent, parroting the type of bullshit she usually saw on Pandora mission advertisements back on earth before her deployment.
“You would be too much of a distraction, don’t think I don’t know about your fraternisation with Colonel Quaritch.”
The General decided abruptly, waving her away dismissively as she turned back to the papers in front of her, nevertheless, she was not perturbed, desperate to convince the General of her abilities as she racked her brain.
“I could teach the recombinants how to ride Ikrans”
She let out in a single breath, unsure even of the logistics of her own idea.
Capturing her intrigue once more, she stopped her pen, eyes meeting Gaia's.
“And how would you do that?”
She spat in disbelief.
“I have extensive knowledge on how the Na’vi people use Ikrans in war, I could give you some of the papers I’ve worked on about the subject if you’d like.”
This seemed to offend her slightly, a scoff falling from her mouth as she turned away, Gaia supposed her chance to do something useful for once had slipped away.
“Okay, if you teach the recombinants to use Ikrans effectively, I will grant you access to the mission as cultural expert, understood?”
She met your eyes after a few minutes in silence to deliver her decision, making her face light up, fighting the smile that attempted to peek from her lips.
“Yes ma’am,”
she replied with enthusiasm before she was dismissed curtly. She knew going behind Miles’ back like this could put her relationship in jeopardy, but she couldn’t let him go on this suicide mission alone, they were together as equals now. This was the only way she could justify her actions, feeling guilt swirl in her stomach as the thought of him finding out caused anxiety to prickle at the back of her neck.
Her day continued as it usually would, meals in the dining hall with June and Mike, although they seemed too involved with each other to really pay much attention to her, not that she couldn't be accused of doing the same. And working hard in the lab, subtly trying to avoid spending time with Miles, unable to look him in the eye with this feeling of betrayal.
That was until, on her way between labs, she made out a furious voice shouting her name from the other end of the corridor. She sped up her steps, naively believing she might be able to outrun a 9ft tall avatar, to no avail, as she felt her centre of gravity brutally being pulled in the other direction, coming to realise she had been slammed into a wall, trapped with one arm pinned up against her neck.
Miles was seething with anger, fangs bared like a wild animal as he stared down at her. She'd never really been afraid of the fearsome Colonel before, knowing of course, his reputation as a ruthless man. That was until now, realising just how sharp his fangs were and how much strength he held, how easily he could kill her with one large hand.
"What the fuck princess, you invite yourself onto my mission and you don't even tell me? We're not gonna be playing about with flowers sunshine, this is fucking dangerous."
He barked, appearing to be holding himself back with every word. She didn't have the gall to reply, trembling in his hold, she pitifully felt tears pricking at her eyes as she was only able to choke out a few words with the pressure on her throat.
"Your hurting me Miles,"
A look of discomfort graced his features and he removed his hands from her at breakneck speed, cursing under his breath. He reached a hand slowly back to her face but she flinched away, making his own drop as Gaia stood defensively, feeling more than a little rattled by his actions.
"That was really fucking scary Miles,"
she uttered, lip quivering as the tears briming at her lower lids began to spill.
He didn't say anything, eyes simply darting across her face as he took in what he'd done. Trying to compose herself, Gaia began to explain her decision as Miles appeared to have gone into a state of shock,
"I can't let you go on that mission alone Miles, you could die out there and I'd be here alone, you can't do that to me."
She breathed, closing her eyes with a gulp as her emotions welled up in her throat.
"I can't lose you,"
she spoke nervously, flicking her eyes open to see how her confession would be received. She didn't flinch this time when he tentatively gripped her hand in his fingers, snapping out of his daze as he finally spoke.
"You think I don't feel the same? If anything ever happened to you I-"
He cut himself off, voice breaking, making her realise that this was the first time she'd ever seen him so vulnerable and she squeezed his hand to give him comfort, knowing the emotionally constipated man had probably never so much as shed a tear in public.
"I fucking care about you Gaia,"
He spat the words out like lava on his tongue, as though they greatly irritated him, almost making her smile. It was the most Miles expression of affection she'd ever seen.
"Then let me come with you, If I'm linked with my avatar I won't be in any real danger,"
she said half whispering, not wanting to break the tense silence that had enveloped them both. It made him pause, his harsh gaze not seeming to soften as he looked into her eyes unblinking,
"That doesn't mean you can't feel pain Gaia."
His words made your stomach clench, she'd never bothered to wonder how dying would feel, or how she would be able to feel it all only to wake up again, how that might affect her. Nevertheless, she maintained his unwavering glare, knowing that at the first sign of regret he would be able to convince her to stay. Reaching up she cupped his face in her palm, his hand settling upon her own to keep it there, as she said a final,
"I know."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It had been decided that she would teach the Colonel and his squad how to ride Ikrans effective immediately, considering the mission was pretty time sensitive, which is how she found herself on another aircraft full of recombinants, being flown over the magnificent hallelujah mountains. As per usual, Quaritch made some 'inspirational' speech to his team, responded to with a chorus of oorahs, naturally. She couldn't deny she felt a sort of safe familiarity in their presence, especially as she herself was in an avatar body, almost feeling like one of them.
Before she knew it, they were touched down on the precipice of a cliff with barely enough room for them all to gather under the rock shelf, the aircraft departing swiftly to allow them all more room. Stepping out, she checked her bag to make sure she was fully equipped, knowing how dangerous tsaheylu can be.
"You don't have to do this,"
a hand came over her shoulder as a a voice she recognised to be Miles spoke. Turning to him she only smiled with a nod, she wasn't one to back down from a challenge.
"Okay everyone, I have been assigned to teach you all about bonding with an Ikran."
She turned towards the recoms as she began, not waiting for Miles' approval this time as she was anxious to get this mission underway.
"Firstly, you must go towards them one by one, and if the Ikran tries to kill you, then they have chosen you and you must attempt to bond with them using your queue."
She explained, pointing to the nearby ledge inhabited by countless Ikrans, mixing together colourfully like light shining through a stained glass window.
"I'll go first,"
Miles pushed her aside as he moved toward them, so blinded by irritation that he couldn't hear any of the warnings Gaia shouted. She watched in horror as he paraded through their home, eyes locking on an enormous dark blue animal which hissed at the sight of him-and the game was on.
"It's just you and me cupcake,"
he drawled arrogantly whilst the rest of his squad cheered him on, none aware of the grave danger he was putting himself in just to prove his strength.
"Stop stressing sunshine, we won't let a banshee kill your boyfriend,"
Z-dog slapped your back with a laugh, having observed her wide eyed expression for a few minutes now. She didn't pay her any mind though, as she found yourself unable to tear her eyes away from the Colonel, having punched the Ikran in the face, he was now grappling with the animal to make it submit as he attempted to bond. But In spite of his efforts, the Ikran lurched off the cliff unbonded, taking Miles with him as it fell.
"Miles,"
Gaia screeched, racing to the edge of the cliff as the soldiers around her grew quiet. She couldn't see anything past the thick fog, and she grew cold at the thought of him falling so far. Was it even possible to perform tsaheylu on an Ikran mid flight? Suddenly, interrupting her thoughts, she saw the tips of blue wings shoot through the clouds, strong wind blowing you back from the verge, revealing Miles Quaritch, seated firmly on an Ikran, a look of glee spread through his features as he shouted to you all.
"All right!"
She moved further back, fear being replaced by anger as she watched him land the thing by your feet, smugly patting its head as he walked up to her.
"Who's up next then? You've seen how its done now so I don't want any cock ups,"
he barked, arms crossed over his vest as he surveyed his troops expectantly. Lyle was the next to step forwards, eyes already locked onto a cyan Ikran, but Gaia had had enough. Sprinting towards him she put her hands on his chest to push him back, sure that one of them would die if they all tried the Colonel's methods.
"No, you need to bind their mouths before you attempt to bond, it's very dangerous to do it this way."
Miles had already marched to her side, ripping her away from his corporal by the handle of her bag to shoot her a menacing scowl.
"If you're going to get in the way of my orders I won't hesitate to have you removed from my mission,"
he scolded, face leaning in close as an act of intimidation.
"Well it's a good thing I'm not here on your orders then, I'm here by request from General Ardmoure, and I say you need to tie their mouths unless you want to get your whole squad killed,"
she bit back, no longer holding the same fear for the man she used to, especially now she was able to meet his eye without craning her neck. Her defiance caused low gasps to sound from around her, even Lyle wearing a startled look as his eyes bounced between her and the Colonel. And she could tell Miles was seething with anger, but he did not attempt to challenge her words, knowing that she was correct, he only responded,
"fine, you are to tie the mouths of the Ikrans shut before bonding, understood?"
his eyes were trained on Lyle, allowing her to breathe finally without the tense glare of his amber eyes.
Eventually, all of the recombs were able to bond, being instructed by Gaia to fly with them immediately to confirm the union, leaving the rock face barren, aside from her and Miles, an uncomfortable silence settling between them both in the soldier's absences.
"That was really stupid you know, you could have died,"
she spat, rotating her body to face him, watching the way he stood with one hand rested against the neck of his Ikran.
"As stupid as deciding to come on a dangerous mission with no military training?"
He snarled, letting go of his Ikran and moving closer to her, chest pushed forward as he held her furious gaze.
"You're still angry about that? It's my decision,"
she spoke in confusion, having thought they'd ironed out this spat only a few days ago.
"Still angry? of course I'm still fucking angry darling, you can't ever listen to orders can you."
His tone was sardonic as he marched closer, gripping her arm in his large blue hand as he dragged her into a dark cave, away from the prying eyes of his team.
"You really know how to get under my skin, don't you sunshine,"
he growled, pressing her against the wall with his body weight as she felt one leg slip into the gap between her thighs, making her breath hitch at the intimate contact. Suddenly he was all over her, lips and teeth against her neck as he sucked with heavy breaths, gripping her waist like a vice to pull her tighter against him, allowing her to feel something hard resting on her leg.
"Miles,"
she mewled, running her hands up and down his muscular back whilst he continued his assault on her neck, letting out a small yelp when she felt him sink his fangs into the exposed skin of her shoulder, which she was sure would leave a mark.
"Come 'ere baby,"
he rasped, running his tongue over his teeth before smashing his mouth against hers in a heated, messy kiss that caused fire to ignite between her thighs, subtly moving against the leg that was clenching against her core. She pulled away panting, pressing her head against the cave wall, eyes fluttering shut at the feeling of the friction against her clothed cunt.
"You gonna cum on my thigh huh? not so tough now are you baby?"
He growled, moving his leg in time with her hips, making her stifle a moan as she felt the coil inside you tighten faster than she would like to admit. She hung onto his shoulders, losing the strength to stand as she felt her oncoming climax whilst Miles continued to kiss and nip at her skin, holding her up in his arms.
"Come on sweetheart, you can do it,"
he encouraged, giving her a smack on the ass, massaging her stinging flesh after the fact, and she couldn't contain the noises that escaped her mouth, choking moans and whines filling the cave as she shamefully orgasmed against him, her body shaking with the force. His hand slapped against her mouth with wide eyes as he watched her come undone, a sense of smug pride filling him at the sight; yet they were both caught off guard by the sound of Lyle Wainfleet calling out in the darkness,
"Colonel, are you in here?"
They both swiftly shuffled away from one another, attempting to straighten out their hair and clothes in the darkness, not wanting to announce to the whole squad what they had just been doing.
"Yes Lyle, go and tell the others to wait for me and Gaia by their Ikrans,"
he commanded, voice surprisingly steady all things considered, and he waited to hear the sound of boots retreating before leaning down to capture her lips in his once more.
"You ready to go baby?"
he asked, running his fingers softly against her arm, she loved the way he always took care of her in these moments, never teasing her when she felt this vulnerable.
"Yeah, I'm ready Miles,"
she breathed, feeling his hand intertwine with hers to lead her toward the light at the mouth of the cave. She assumed that despite her best efforts, she looked a little dishevelled when they both emerged, hoping that the recoms assumed they were having a domestic and not borderline fucking. Either way, they kept their glances constrained, obviously not wanting to piss of Quaritch any further as he hopped onto the Ikran he affectionately called Cupcake, lending Gaia a hand to pull her up in front of him, before calling out curtly to his troops.
"We're heading back to the base, follow me in formation."
She sucked in a breath, leaning down to cling onto Cupcake for dear life as she plunged over the edge of the cliff, feeling an arm wrap around her waist to steady her as she fell.
"Whooo this so fucking amazing,"
she heard one of the troops call from behind, making her smile against the Ikran she had wrapped herself around. Subsequently, she felt a pat to her thigh making her look over her shoulder to see Miles sporting a shit-eating grin.
"As much as I enjoy the view, are you gonna stay down there the whole way back?"
He teased, eyes flicking towards her ass sitting much too close to his crotch, which she noticed was still somewhat engorged, making her blush and shoot up so fast she almost knocked him backwards with the force.
"Jesus sunshine, try not to kill us both,"
he huffed, holding her close with one arm as he flew point back to base, grinning smugly whenever he caught a glimpse of the distinctive bite mark settled between the stripes of her delicate shoulder, reminding himself that he should definitely give her another in her human form.
"I'm sorry sir,"
she teased back, not missing the way he stiffened behind her at the nickname, and in that moment everything seemed so perfect, she thought nothing could destroy it, nothing at all.

Where Is She?
Tsu'tey x Reader, a little bit of Quaritch x Reader
Summary: You didn't get a chance to leave with Jake when they left Hell's Gate, Quaritch ensured that you'd be stuck in his room not that glass cell. Jake led the clan to victory, Tsu'tey still wondered where you were and if you were okay. When they raid Hell's Gate for supplies they'll find out if you really are okay or not.
Don't ask why I keep coming up with fucked up things. Quaritch screams abusive energy and I'm here for it, apparently. I also keep doing stuff with being with Quaritch and going after Tsu'tey, don't ask why either because I don't know why.
Warnings: physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, psychological abuse, references rape/non-con, kidnapping, blood and violence, torture, implied starvation.
You were abruptly taken out of your link, your eyes rolled back as your body dropped to the forest floor. You woke up as the tube was turning off, the top opened and you looked around you. Everything was blurry and muted, a side effect of being thrust out of the link. You saw Grace screaming and Jake throwing a punch, you heard more yelling and calling from all around you. Once you gathered yourself together, you kicked the man who stood by the link bed. You got out of the link bed and went to punch him; you were angry and everyone else around you was screaming.
Before you could throw the punch, a fist full of your hair was grabbed making you whine out and lean back to avoid some of the pain on your scalp. You tried to turn around enough to see who had you by your hair, but they had it right by the scalp.
“I thought I told you to be a good girl.”
The whisper in your ear brought chills down your spine.
Quaritch, that’s who had a hold on you.
You didn’t respond to him, you couldn’t, it would only make things worse.
You got told that you were leaving Pandora, that Earth would be your home again. Jake, Grace, and Norm were brought to a glass cell, the avatar program was shut down fully. You were supposed to be in the cell with the other avatar drivers, the only problem was that Quaritch wouldn’t let you go that easily. He took you to his room and locked the door, it was this room that you’d rot in for quite some time.
You remember the look on Tsu’tey’s face when Jake told them what he was actually doing here. You didn’t know Jake’s full involvement with Quaritch but it shocked you to hear it, regardless you still knew that they wanted to take home tree down. Tsu’tey’s face held resentment and pain, he chose you, he mated with you and you betrayed that. This was how you chose to repay him? By hurting his people, by taking his home.
He loves you, or rather, loved you, how could you do this to him?
You never wanted to hurt him, becoming one of the people was one of the best things that has happened to you, meeting Tsu’tey even more so. You didn’t want to hurt him; you never wanted it to end up like this. He taught you how good someone’s soul could be, he taught you that you were deserving of such immense love. You tried to remember the feelings Tsu’tey gave you as Quaritch beat the shit out of you in his quarters. You missed the sweet words Tsu’tey would say to you or the way he’d lightly kiss your head or the feeling that warmed your body when you mated for the first time.
You tried your hardest to remember how terrible Quaritch was, you tried to remember how amazing Tsu’tey was. But that didn’t matter, not once Quaritch apologized to you for hitting you then kissed you and held you. You had to admit, Tsu’tey was good for you, he treated you well. Once you met him, nothing would compare. Being with Quaritch initially was amazing even when he started to physically and emotionally abuse you, you’d forget all about the bad stuff and only remember the best parts.
Tsu’tey made you realize how awful he was, Tsu’tey made you distance yourself from Quaritch but you could never fully shake him. Quaritch wouldn’t let you go, he knew how to fuck with you, he knew how to get into your head. He liked to threaten you and scare you; he knew how he could keep you with him.
After the initial first day of being stuck in his quarters, it would only get worse. He came back the next night, after dealing with the avatar drivers skipping town and bringing a link unit with them. That night you really got it; he was angry and he was pissed. He punched you and kicked you and he wouldn’t stop, he only saw red. As he hit you, he’d ask where they went or where they could’ve gone. You, obviously, had no idea, which only served to make him madder because clearly, you had to know.
He would leave his room for the next few days with bruised and bloodied knuckles. He didn’t care, he was doing his job, he was trying his best. You kept thinking about Tsu’tey as you lay half naked on his floor, you stopped crying from the pain and the fear a long time ago. You could feel blood dripping out of your nose and various other wounds on your body, you would spit it out of your mouth every now and again as well. You wanted to be safe in his arms again, you wanted him to hold you as you cried out all the physical and emotional pain in your body.
When Jake went back to the Omaticaya people as Toruk Makoto, he landed the Ikran in front of them and begged for their help. He needed to help Grace who was dying, he needed help to take out the sky people. They agreed, they would help him, they would fly with him.
“My mate, is she okay?” Tsu’tey asked Jake afterwards.
Jake didn’t want to answer, mostly because he didn’t know, she wasn’t with them. He wanted to avoid the conversation, he didn’t know if you were alright or not and that ate away at him.
“I do not know. She is not with us.”
“Then where is she?”
“With the sky people still. They have her. She wasn’t with us when we escaped.”
“How do we get her?”
“Once we take them down,” Jake said as he walked off.
After Grace passed away, things were getting worse. The RDA kept tabs on the growing population of Na’vi, waiting till it was time for them to head in.
The battle was long and arduous, but the Na’vi won thanks to Jake.
Jake and the other Na’vi pushed the sky people out, they were sent back to earth by force.
After all the sky people were out of the base, they went in to raid any supplies that the scientists that were staying would want or need. They went through there grabbing supplies and going through all the rooms to get supplies out of them and making sure everyone was gone.
Scientists were boxing things up and taking whatever they could, a few of them went down halls and opened doors. Until they got to a door that was locked, the master unlock code wasn’t working either. Once they found out who it belonged to, they understood why, the head of security had some tricks up his sleeve.
They shot the door in and when they entered, the room was dark but they could already tell something was off. Max was the one who turned the lights on, he and Norm were there and they saw the blood on the floor and you lying on the bed. Your naked back was to them, your back was bruised and they could see your spine and rib pressed against your skin.
They only knew who you were once they went closer to you and saw your face.
“Jake?” Norm said over the comms.
“Yeah, what’s up?”
“You’re gonna wanna get in here. Down the dorm hall.”
“On it,” Jake replied and headed in.
Once he saw them down the hall, he got closer to them and they both looked at him.
“What is it?” Jake asked.
“We found her,” Norm said.
Jake took a moment to realize what that meant, his eyes went wide, “is she okay?”
“She’s alive. Okay is another thing.”
Norm and Max moved out of the way for Jake to duck down to look in the doorway.
“What the fuck?”
“I think it was Quaritch. It’s his room. He’s had her in here probably since we left,” Norm said.
“You think he’s been hitting her since then?”
“More than likely, the bruises and the lacerations tell me that it’s been happening a while as well as the scarring,” Max said.
Jake went into the room to look at you closer, you were just in your underwear. Jake kneeled down and covered you with the bed sheet, his hand rested on your shoulder and slowly shook you to wake you. You woke up with a jump and you looked at Jake.
“What are you doing here, if Quaritch sees you, he’s gonna-“
“He’s dead. All the sky people have been forced to leave.”
“What?”
“He’s gone. No one else is here aside from the avatar drivers and a few scientists.”
“He’s gone. Like never coming back, gone.”
“Yes. Now, let's get you out of here. Tsu’tey has been asking about you nonstop.”
“Tsu’tey,” you whispered.
“He’s been missing you.”
“Where is he?” you sat up and looked around.
“He’s good, he’s outside. We should get you cleaned up and dressed.”
“I wanna see him.”
“We will get you outside and you can see him.”
“Can you grab me the shirt and shorts there,” you said as you pointed to a pair of folded clothes.
They were Quaritch’s but it didn’t matter, you didn’t have any of your own clothes here. They handed you the clothes and turned around as you changed. When they turned back around, they could see your face fully. The bruises were healing but you had two healing black eyes and your nose looked more than likely broken. Blood was staining your skin and teeth, your lip was busted and your cheek had a deep laceration, your nose had smeared blood under it. Your brow was split with blood smeared around your eye, probably from when it dripped down and you wiped it.
They couldn’t believe their eyes; your arms and legs were covered in bruises and cuts. The room had blood on the floor and walls, there was shattered glass on the ground and a framed picture broken and on the floor. You were handed an oxygen mask and you walked out with them, Jake picked you up and walked carrying you like a child. You could barely walk; you were weak and your body was so frail. You got closer to the door to the outside, seeing the light made you smile, showing off your blood-stained teeth.
You saw all the different scientists and Na’vi getting stuff together to move to their new home base. You looked around and that's when he caught your eyes, your mate.
“Jake, put me down. I wanna see him.”
“I’ll go over there,” Jake said to you as he walked over.
“Tsu’tey, brother,” Jake started and Tsu’tey turned around.
Tsu’tey’s eyes light up, your condition scared him, it took a moment for him to process that you were the human version of his mate. His hands touched your cheeks over the mask and he got closer to you.
“What happened to you?”
“Nothing. I’m fine.”
Tsu’tey took you from Jake’s hold, they shared eye contact for a moment before Jake left to help out again.
Your arms were around Tsu’tey’s neck, he kissed your head, “I’m so glad you’re okay.”
“I’m glad you’re okay.”
“What happened? I was so worried. No one knew where you were.”
You couldn’t respond, your eyes closed as your lips quivered and stretched. You started to sob; your head rested on his shoulder as you let out all the pain you’d been holding back for months. His large hand rubbed your back as he held you close to his body; he said loving things to you in Na’vi.
“What happened? Please tell me.”
“When we tried to warn you about home tree, we only had a short time to try and get you out of there. After that, we were told that we were to be sent back to Earth. They got put in a cell but I never did, I was taken to this room of the guy I was seeing before you. He is very possessive and didn’t want to get rid of me but I never wanted him. Once you showed me what love was, I never had it with him. I just thought about you, all I wanted was you. He would beat me, ask me where Jake went, he would kick me and punch me…he’d rape me. He was like this before I met you, I just let it slide. You showed me what it meant to have self-worth. I just thought of you and that got me through it,” you were dry-heaving and choking as you talked to him while still crying.
Tsu’tey kissed your head again, “thank you for telling me.”
“Can we please go; I just want to be alone with you.”
“Yes, tiyawn. Let’s get you cleaned up and I’ll take you back. We should get you linked up to find your other body too.”
“You wanna bathe with me?”
“I don’t have to, but if you’d like.”
“Oh, I’d like.”
Tsu’tey flashed you a rare smile and walked off.
