my understanding of the apocrypha were most were recognized as canon by the Roman Catholic Church and other Orthodox Churches but as I'm trying to find more information online I'm getting more confused about what's considered canon by who (mostly the Roman Catholic Church as that is what I was raised in) do you have resources that clearly explain and/or list which denominations recognize which apocrypha?
So there’s a distinction to be made between what we on the show call capital-A Apocrypha and lower case-a apocrypha.
The capital-A type is also known as the Deuterocanon, and it represents the various late-era books that are present in the Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures called the Septuagint, but which are *not* included in the authoritative Hebrew text of the Bible known as the Masoretic text. (NB: the Septuagint is many centuries older than the Masoretic text.)
When Martin Luther translated the Bible into German, he separated these texts and put them at the end as being worthy of study but not as authoritative as the other material. Later American English editions of the Bible would subsequently cut the Apocrypha/Deuterocanon altogether to save on printing costs. So if you grew up in a Protestant church and don’t know what Bel and the Dragon is, that’s why.
These books include Tobit, Judith, and 1 and 2 Maccabees, among about a dozen others. You will find these in pretty much any Catholic Bible.
In addition, the Eastern Orthodox Church accepts a small handful more, including 3 and 4 Maccabees, 1 and 2 Esdras, and a bonus Psalm. If you buy a copy of a study version of the NRSV such as a NOAB or the new SBL study Bible, you should find that it contains all of the Deuterocanon of both the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches.
Where things start to get broader is in some of the Oriental Orthodox churches, most notably the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, which has over 80 books in its broader canon (numbers differ), including Jubilees and 1 Enoch.
Where the confusion comes, I think, is from the fact that the word apocrypha is also used to refer to works that were never part of any official canon despite their popularity and influence. Elements of these books have come into Catholic belief through tradition, however, even though they have never been official scripture. The Infancy Gospel of James is a major example of a book that has never been canon but which nevertheless has had an outsize influence on Catholic teaching.
Wikipedia has a chart that you may or may not find useful depicting which books are canon where
A short rule of thumb is this: the only Apocrypha considered canon by any church is Jewish in origin. There is no New Testament apocrypha held as canon by any major church

I Am the True Vine
1 ‘I am the true vine’, said Jesus, ‘and my father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t bear fruit; and he prunes every branch that does bear fruit, so that it can bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean. That’s because of the word that I’ve spoken to you.
4 ‘Remain in me, and I will remain in you! The branch can’t bear fruit by itself, but only if it remains in the vine. In the same way, you can’t bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches. People who remain in me, and I in them, are the ones who bear plenty of fruit. Without me, you see, you can’t do anything.
6 ‘If people don’t remain in me, they are thrown out, like a branch, and they wither. People collect the branches and put them on the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want, and it will happen for you. 8 My father is glorified in this: that you bear plenty of fruit, and so become my disciples.’
Obeying and Loving
9 ‘As the father loved me,’ Jesus continued, ‘so I loved you. Remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my father’s commands, and remain in his love. 11 I’ve said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and so that your joy may be full.
12 ‘This is my command: love one another, in the same way that I loved you. 13 No one has a love greater than this, to lay down your life for your friends. 14 You are my friends, if you do what I tell you. 15 I’m not calling you “servants” any longer; servants don’t know what their master is doing. But I’ve called you “friends”, because I’ve let you know everything I heard from my father.
16 ‘You didn’t choose me. I chose you, and I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last. Then the father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 17 This is my command to you: love one another.’

“As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10, Psalm 14:3)
“It Is Written” By Bob Yandian Ministries:
“This quotation (“it is written”) is found in many parts of the Old Testament, the prophets as well as the Psalms. Our verse in Romans 3:10 simply shows God’s word has much to say about itself. But the most important thing is the atmosphere contained in the Word through the whole of the Old and New Testaments. There is no need of any outside source to prove itself. Why is this important? Because the word becomes a part of our lives, controlling, stabilizing and guiding every move we make. We become self-sufficient because the word in us is self-sufficient. We need no outside support or proof of our belief in our relationship with Jesus Christ.
The world compels us to compare ourselves with other religions, philosophies or political views. There is no higher standard in our life than God Himself and His Word. Jesus did not call Himself, “a way”, or “a truth.” You never look for “a truth” to support “the truth.” Jesus is the only way and the only truth. Why do we need anything else?
Old and New Testament Self-Verification: The Old Testament says many times of itself, "thus says the Lord", as well as “it is written.” And the New Testament simultaneously declares, "it is written.” The scriptures do not defend the fact they are written by God. God does not treat His word as theory. Through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the word treats God’s authorship as fact as we do the theory of gravity.
It Stands Written: A more correct Greek way of saying “it is written” is, “it stands written.” In the New Testament, the meaning of the word written, found in the phrase “it is written”, is in the perfect tense. The perfect tense means the action happened in the past with results that keep coming to the present. Simply put, it stood written long before it was written. It was known by God from eternity past and it only found its way onto parchment when the writers of the Bible transcribed what they heard from the Holy Spirit. The Word of God is eternal. How can something that began in time be used to support something that is timeless?
All of it Has to be True: Jesus handled the Old Testament as the sword of truth in the four gospels. If you do not believe one part, how can you believe any part? If you do not believe what Jesus said about the Bible, then you do not believe what Jesus said about Himself. For He declares Himself to be the revealed word of God and the fulfilment of Old Testament prophecies written about Himself as the only means of salvation for all mankind.”

Psalms chapter 80
1 (To the chief Musician upon Shoshannimeduth, A Psalm of Asaph.) Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.
2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us.
3 Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
4 O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?
5 Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.
6 Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.
7 Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
8 Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.
9 Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.
10 The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.
11 She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.
12 Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?
13 The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.
14 Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;
15 And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.
16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.
17 Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.
18 So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.
19 Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

First Sunday of Advent
Isaiah 63: 16b-17, 19b; 64:2-7
The prophet begs God to send the Messiah to redeem the people.
Psalm 80
The Psalmist also calls out to God to save the people.
First Corinthians 1:3-9
Paul speaks of all that God has done for the Church in Corinth.
Mark 13: 33-37
The Gospel writer warns the people about the coming of the Lord.
In this new season of Advent, we remember the Incarnation and birth of Jesus, but Mark, our first Gospel writer, begins his Gospel with the Baptism of Jesus by John and today, speaks of the end times. It seems that Mark is bypassing the birth and early life of the “long awaited one” and, moves in one way, to the “end of our lives.” “You do not know when the Lord of the house is coming.” The next two Gospel writers tell stories of Jesus birth but from different perspectives. And John begins his Gospel with the story of creation and Jesus’ central role in that event. “The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.”
Each Gospel writer depending on the historical date of their composition, and the communities to which they wrote, selected from among oral stories, those events that would strengthen the lives of their listeners, and the times in which they lived.
Mark’s Gospel was written during the decade of the 60’s to a community that was facing great persecution from Rome. He is writing to an infant church some thirty years after the Resurrection. The knowledge of the martyrdom of Peter and Paul in the 60’s is fresh in their minds as was the reality of great threats to their lives and the Jesus’ community. Remember the way in which the Emperor Nero was accusing the Christians of the burning of Rome. It was not an easy time to be a Christian in such a pagan empire. They faced accusations and persecution from inside and outside of Rome.
To strengthen his community, Mark opens his small Gospel with the beginning of the public ministry of Jesus, his baptism, and the role of John the Baptist.
But today’s Gospel taken from well into Mark’s Gospel is an important one. It contains a powerful massage for us some 2000 years after the fact. “Be watchful! Be alert!” I see this message not only one that affects us as we live out daily lives but also to be aware of the world around us. That is, how important it is to be alert to the suffering of our wounded world and the violence that has become so common place. Mark’s 1st century community faced such violence from the powers that were in control, and suffered for what they believed.
We are seeing that same suffering around the world these days. The Ukraine suffers from an invasion. Isarel suffers from a massacre of their people. Palestinians suffer from the brutality of the Hamas. Jews suffer from the rise of antisemitism. Our public life suffers from the hatred of opponents and lies that distort reality. Our Christian brothers and sisters who lived in Rome in the 60’s, understand the suffering of our day because they experienced it in own their day and time.
Perhaps this coming Advent season may offer us the time to be “watchful and alert” and aware of the trends and actions in our world that are so antithetical to the power and promise of the small child who is to come, and offers us a path, a way to bring peace and love to our suffering world.

First Reading
Isaiah 2:1-5
The Lord will gather all nations into the eternal peace of the Kingdom of God.
This is what Isaiah, son of Amoz, saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. In days to come,
The mountain of the LORD’s house
shall be established as the highest mountain
and raised above the hills.
All nations shall stream toward it;
many peoples shall come and say:
“Come, let us climb the LORD’s mountain,
to the house of the God of Jacob,
That he may instruct us in his ways,
and we may walk in his paths.”
For from Zion shall go forth instruction,
and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
He shall judge between the nations,
and impose terms on many peoples.
They shall beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks;
One nation shall not raise the sword against another,
nor shall they train for war again.
O house of Jacob, come,
let us walk in the light of the LORD!
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm
Psalm 122:1-2, 3-4b, 4cd-5, 6-7, 8-9

“We will go up to the house of the LORD.”
And now we have set foot
within your gates, O Jerusalem.
R/ Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord.
Jerusalem, built as a city
with compact unity.
To it the tribes go up,

to give thanks to the name of the LORD.
In it are set up judgment seats,
seats for the house of David.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
May those who love you prosper!
May peace be within your walls,
prosperity in your buildings.

Gospel
Matthew 8:5-11
Many will come from the east and the west into the Kingdom of heaven.
When Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion approached him and appealed to him, saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, suffering dreadfully.” He said to him, “I will come and cure him.” The centurion said in reply, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof; only say the word and my servant will be healed. For I too am a man subject to authority, with soldiers subject to me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come here,’ and he comes; and to my slave, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Amen, I say to you, in no one in Israel have I found such faith. I say to you, many will come from the east and the west, and will recline with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the banquet in the Kingdom of heaven.”
The Gospel of the Lord
R/ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Matthew 25:14-30
Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities.
Jesus told his disciples this parable: “A man going on a journey called in his servants and entrusted his possessions to them. To one he gave five talents; to another, two; to a third, one – to each according to his ability. Then he went away. Immediately the one who received five talents went and traded with them, and made another five. Likewise, the one who received two made another two. But the man who received one went off and dug a hole in the ground and buried his master’s money. After a long time the master of those servants came back and settled accounts with them. The one who had received five talents came forward bringing the additional five. He said, ‘Master, you gave me five talents. See, I have made five more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities. Come, share your master’s joy.’ Then the one who had received two talents also came forward and said, ‘Master, you gave me two talents. See, I have made two more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities. Come, share your master’s joy.’ Then the one who had received the one talent came forward and said, ‘Master, I knew you were a demanding person, harvesting where you did not plant and gathering where you did not scatter; so out of fear I went off and buried your talent in the ground. Here it is back.’ His master said to him in reply, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I did not plant and gather where I did not scatter? Should you not then have put my money in the bank so that I could have got it back with interest on my return? Now then! Take the talent from him and give it to the one with ten. For to everyone who has, more will be given and he will grow rich; but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. And throw this useless servant into the darkness outside, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.’”

Jeremiah Complains to the LORD
1 Whenever I complain
to you, LORD,
you are always fair.
But now I have questions
about your justice.
Why is life easy for sinners?
Why are they successful?
2 You plant them like trees;
you let them prosper
and produce fruit.
Yet even when they praise you,
they don't mean it.
3 But you know, LORD,
how faithful I've always been,
even in my thoughts.
So drag my enemies away
and butcher them like sheep!
4 How long will the ground be dry
and the pasturelands parched?
The birds and animals
are dead and gone.
And all of this happened because
the people are so sinful.
They even brag, “God can't see
the sins we commit.”
The LORD Answers Jeremiah
5 Jeremiah, if you get tired
in a race against people,
how can you possibly run
against horses?
If you fall in open fields,
what will happen in the forest
along the Jordan River?
6 Even your own family
has turned against you.
They act friendly,
but don't trust them.
They're out to get you,
and so is everyone else.
The LORD Is Furious with His People
7 I loved my people and chose them
as my very own.
But now I will reject them
and hand them over
to their enemies.
8 My people have turned against me
and roar at me like lions.
That's why I hate them.
9 My people are like a hawk
surrounded and attacked
by other hawks.
Tell the wild animals
to come and eat their fill.
10 My beautiful land is ruined
like a field or a vineyard
trampled by shepherds
and stripped bare
by their flocks.
11 Every field I see lies barren,
and no one cares.
12 A destroying army
marches along desert roads
and attacks everywhere.
They are my deadly sword;
no one is safe from them.
13 My people, you planted wheat,
but because I was furious,
I let only weeds grow.
You wore yourselves out
and gained only shame!
The LORD Will Have Pity on Other Nations
14 The LORD said:
I gave this land to my people Israel, but enemies around it have attacked and robbed it. So I will uproot them from their own countries just as I will uproot Judah from its land. 15 But later, I will have pity on these nations and bring them back to their own lands. 16 They once taught my people to worship Baal. But if they admit I am the only true God, and if they let my people teach them how to worship me, these nations will also become my people. 17 However, if they don't listen to me, I will uproot them from their lands and completely destroy them. I, the LORD, have spoken.

PROPHETIC RELEASE
Ready yourself, bride of Christ.
The sound of war looms around.
Oh no, you can't be asleep neither should you slumber.
For it is crucial, that you awake to the voice of the Spirit.
Hear the sound of awakening, for revival calls.
I see the Lion of the tribe of Judah roaring aloud.
The time has come for the Lion dimension in you to find an expression.
For like a mighty rushing wind, I hear the sound of revival blowing over atmosphere
Be strengthened with might my beloved warrior.
Mount the gates, awake my watchman.
Refuse to be left out, in this new move of God.
I see the Lord, releasing the streams of the Prophetic with accuracy and precision ; Deeper Prophetic stream from the rivers of life.
I see the Lord clothing sons and daughters with the Apostolic fire mantle, for there shall be signs and wonder.
I see the Lord pouring out his Spirit upon all flesh.
The atmosphere is stirred, launch into the deep.
I see the Lord pouring out fresh hunger for the kingdom; The zeal of the Lord will fall upon you once again.
I see the Lord pouring out the spirit of grace and supplication upon every one that desires it.
Awake from your spiritual slumber, come back to the secret place.
I see downloads and mysteries being released right now.
Over the nations and body of Christ , I see the wind of the Holy Spirit blowing over territories.
Ready yourself , my precious one.
For, deep calleth unto deep.
"Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed."
Hebrews 12:12-13
"Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me."
Psalm 42:7
"Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light."
Ephesians 5:14
Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me."
Ezekiel 3:17
"And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth."
Isaiah 62:7
"And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams."
Acts 2:17
"And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication;... "
Zechariah 12:10
"Then we shall not turn back from You;
Revive us, and we will call upon Your name."
Psalm 80:18
"Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:"
Ephesians 1:9

the farm. it would be well to know who was to have the colliery – if I let it, could B- make the land pay me the rent I could let it at (£3 per DW. tenant paying taxes)? yes! – and John B- might take care of, - looking after – six cows and take care of the garden or very nearly – 20 DW. of this land would keep 6 cows – told B- I did not feel quite certain that everyone would be of Holts’ mind as to the immediate opening of WP. for a sale-pit – at any rate, the thing would be a £30 job before it was done with – a house for the banksman etc. etc. would eventually be wanted – and the coal if sold for a 1d. a load more, would be dib coal and to get 2 acres a year there must be 2 gin-horses –
get an estimate of the 80 yards mine – driving ....... per yard expense of gin horse ....... per day etc. etc. said nothing about going to Mrs. AW. A- begged for she must leave oh oh is she at this again I got her out of it before we reached home but she is a broken reed to trust and a melancholy one into the bargain – stood talking to B- till dinner at 6 ¾ A- read French – asleep on the sofa – coffee – skimmed over the newspaper – came upstairs at 9 ½ and wrote all but the first lines of today till now 9 55/.. – before I was dressed this morning came note from Mr. Adam to me saying it would oblige him much if he could come tomorrow instead of this evening – wrote back by the bearer on a slip of his own paper ‘Shibden hall 2 June 1830 – at 10am tomorrow if you please’ – during this bad that is low and crying as she was A- copied her rentals from my drawing up she begins to be impatient to be off and lets herself shew it in this queer unaccountable senseless way – from 10 to 11 ¼ (A- came to me before 11 for ¼ hour) at accounts – finished entering in my rough book the bills DB- paid yesterday – out of the £280 A- gave me + £3.5.4 I received from Roper for old metal = £283.5.4 DB.
paid for me 152.2.8
for A- 82.15.5
