I do think it's funny when wrestling fans talk about Hulk Hogan having any sort of modern pop culture standing.
I was born in '89 and barely knew who he was despite my 6th grade teacher being a big pro-wrestling fan with a huge crush on the Rock and Steve Austin posters in the classroom. My youngest sister had no idea who he was until I got into wrestling.
Today's youth don't know who he is. Unless they have 80s-90s wrestling obsessed parents, there's no reason they would. The guy hasn't done anything notable in the last 20 years and the last thing he got notoriety for was a tape where he used racist language in regards to a black man his daughter was seeing.

A Different Kind of King | WWE NXT
.@Carmelo_WWE outlasts @LexisKingWWE in intense matchup at #NXTDeadline. pic.twitter.com/MB2OarMNzk— WWE NXT (@WWENXT) December 10, 2023
Lexis King formerly Brian Pillman Jr. just arrived on NXT but his presence can already be felt. The 2nd generation star has a cool entrance and a stoic new persona far from his varsity blonde character back in AEW. It reminds me of his late father Brian Pillman…

Why I Love Pro-Wrestling: The Strange Tale of Bray Wyatt Pt. 1
Why I Love Pro-Wrestling: The Strange Tale of Bray Wyatt Pt. 1
This is a kayfabe rundown of the character known as Bray Wyatt. Wyatt was portrayed byWindham Rotunda, son of Mike Rotunda, brother of Bo Dallas, grandson of Blackjack Mulligan, nephew of Kendall and Barry Windham. He is a third-generation pro-wrestler who seems to approach it as much as performance art as an athletic spectacle. His greatest creation to date is the ever-evolving Bray Wyatt, a…

I mi~ght have a favorite pair of wrestlers.
From WM Axxess 32-35! I had a little thing I'd do--for each year I went to visit, I'd do a unique piece of art for them and have a copy for them to sign and each to keep. At 34, I actually made a Fashion Files comic book, but I didn't get a good picture with them that year because WWE photographers happened to be near and realized what was going on then came to snap pictures themselves (this sort of thing is great for PR)... Except I didn't realize I needed to stick around to sign a press release that they could post it on websites, so... That didn't happen. :'D
The first year was pretty special though! I walked up and Vik realized exactly who I was because I had posted about a tote bag I made using their shirt! "An Ascension bag? Here comes the super fan!"
It all started when I posted a sketch of them during their NXT days. Konnor sent me a DM asking if I could send them copies and they'll send a copy signed back to me (just make sure I sign his copy)! I nearly cried. I spruced that sketch up, got it colored, and sent it. Soon enough, I got a copy back signed by the boys! I ended up doing a lot more art of them.
These guys helped make wrestling special for me. ;w;
