#Philippians 1:20-21
Living His Word
Tumblr media
For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better. But if I live, I can do more fruitful work for Christ. So I really don't know which is better. I'm torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me. But for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live. - Philippians 1:21-24
Heaven is good, but the earth is full of sin and evil. It makes sense, therefore, that Jesus would pray "your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10). Heaven is a better place than earth because God's Will is done there, whereas that is only partially true on earth. Further, heaven is a better place from the Christian's perspective because it is the present abode of Jesus Christ, our beloved Lord and Savior.
It is for these reasons that the Apostle Paul says that departing and going to heaven to be with Christ is better by far than remaining on earth. On earth we struggle with sin, sickness, trials, tribulations, and troubles of every kind. How nice it would be to leave it all behind and go to the place devoid of all that. How nice it would be to enter our heavenly rest.
That Paul decides it is more necessary for him to remain on earth tells us a lot about our present task and purpose here on earth. Our goal here is not to leave, preferably as quickly as possible, but to live for Christ and to perform fruitful work. Our goal is to go forth in life in the power of the one in whom we live and he in us (I John 4:13), building the church of which he is the head, expanding his kingdom, despite the troubles of life here on earth.
We don't have to make the difficult decision between heaven and earth. God will decide that for us. It is our job to perform fruitful work for Christ Jesus.
It is our job to be here for those who find it necessary for us to be here.

bc I’m in the Easter service at church and I’ll have to hear it twice I’ve got time to write up a thing on something i’ve come to realize. The Bible is very female-empowering??? Like??? The needless sexism in some churches come from tradition and internalized prejudice.
In the Bible there is a female deacon (a very important role in the church, kind of like a pastor) who preaches and leads a church.
Taken from acts29.com,
Paul writes at the end of Romans, “I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servant of the church at Cenchreae . . .” (Rom. 16:1–2). Phoebe is called a servant, a diakonos, which is the same Greek word used for deacon in 1 Timothy 3 and Philippians 1:1.
Christ welcomed women (Mary of Magdalene is the most significant), and during the Crucifixion, ALL the 12 disciples BAILED, too afraid/guilty to show up. But guess who stood at the feet of the cross while he died??? THE WOMEN? (Mary (the mom), her sister, another Mary who was a follower, Mary of Magdalene.)
John 19:25-27 NIV
Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman, here is your son,” and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.”
And at the empty tomb? A group of women went to lay some kind of offering at the entrance and Mary of Magdalene saw the stone moved (WHICH FOR CONTEXT WAS MOST LIKELY SEVERAL TONS AND THIS WAS LIKE 30~ AD) and his body gone (she assumed grave robbing).
John 20:11-15 NIV
Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.
They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?”
“They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.” At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.
He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?”
Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.”
Jesus said to her, “Mary.”
She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”).
Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.”
Women have always been portrayed as the more faithful and humble followers in the Bible, and have been shown to have positions in power and influence over a body of Christ? And have been very very highly esteemed in faith?? So that means??? it makes no sense when the church silences and shuns women in the church, besides sexism being the cause? Literally in the Bible it tells us that followers of Christ are made equal, and there is no male, female, old, young, black, white, anything in heaven. Just joy and praise, we are all made one. Like? It just doesn’t make sense, and is one of those things I get angry at people of my own faith for. That’s why so many people hate christans :( some Christians hate them. That’s not Christ’s love? Yeah, some love is tough love in confronting patterns of sin and ungodliness, but it’s not out job to condemn them, just to make them aware and let god choose what happens.
—-
this is also has some great examples :) safe link, quora post.
Also, 1 Tim. 2:21, "I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent." is in regards to a church where everyone sucks and the women are very uneducated in the Bible and aren’t even in a position to preach. 1# for reading the Bible, READ WITH HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL CONTEXT, AND LIKE HALF THE BIBLE IS POETRY.

What should I avoid?
Tumblr media
1 Thessalonians 5:22
Stay away from every kind of evil.
1 Peter 2:11
Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls.
Avoid anything that will damage your relationship with God and others. Avoid sin as much as you possibly can.
1 John 5:21
Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.
Leviticus 19:4
Do not put your trust in idols or make metal images of gods for yourselves. I am the Lord your God.
1 Corinthians 10:14
So, my dear friends, flee from the worship of idols.
Avoid anything that prevents God from taking first place in your life.
Proverbs 4:24
Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech.
Philippians 2:14
Do everything without complaining and arguing,
2 Timothy 2:16
Avoid worthless, foolish talk that only leads to more godless behavior.
2 Timothy 2:23
Again I say, don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights.
Titus 3:9
Do not get involved in foolish discussions about spiritual pedigrees or in quarrels and fights about obedience to Jewish laws. These things are useless and a waste of time.
Proverbs 20:3
Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor; only fools insist on quarreling.
Avoid gossip, complaining, quarreling, or saying things that are perverse or hurtful to others.
Colossians 3:5
So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.
Disregarding our old, sinful nature helps us avoid idolatry or ungodliness. Turn your back on evil so your face will be toward God.
Proverbs 14:16
The wise are cautious and avoid danger; fools plunge ahead with reckless confidence.
Proverbs 3:6-7
Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
Avoid making important life decisions by yourself. Seek wisdom from the Lord and you will avoid many mistakes in judgment.

Philippians 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.1:22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.1:23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
We get a new heavenly body
2 Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
Philippians 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
1 Corinthians 15:40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
Revelation 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
How Can we be happy in heaven when we know people we loved might be in hell here is the answer.
Isaiah 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and (the former shall not be remembered), (nor come into mind)

Trust in the Lord with All Your Heart
1 My son, do not forget my law, But let your heart keep my commands; 2 For length of days and long life And peace they will add to you. 3 Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, 4 And so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man. 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. 8 It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones. 9 Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; 10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine. 11 My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; 12 For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.
Blessed Is the One Who Finds Wisdom
13 Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding; 14 For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold. 15 She is more precious than rubies, And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her. 16 Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor. 17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace. 18 She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy are all who retain her. 19 The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding He established the heavens; 20 By His knowledge the depths were broken up, And clouds drop down the dew. 21 My son, let them not depart from your eyes-- Keep sound wisdom and discretion; 22 So they will be life to your soul And grace to your neck. 23 Then you will walk safely in your way, And your foot will not stumble. 24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet. 25 Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; 26 For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught. 27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do so. 28 Do not say to your neighbor, "Go, and come back, And tomorrow I will give it," When you have it with you. 29 Do not devise evil against your neighbor, For he dwells by you for safety's sake. 30 Do not strive with a man without cause, If he has done you no harm. 31 Do not envy the oppressor, And choose none of his ways; 32 For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord, But His secret counsel is with the upright. 33 The curse of the Lord is on the house of the wicked, But He blesses the home of the just. 34 Surely He scorns the scornful, But gives grace to the humble. 35 The wise shall inherit glory, But shame shall be the legacy of fools. — Proverbs 3 | New King James Version (NKJV) The Holy Bible; New King James Version®. Most Christians are taught that there is only one way to be saved. However, their source for this, the Bible, actually records more than twenty diverse ways, many of which are clear contradictions. What basis did you use to pick yours?
Paul says in Galatians 2:16 & Romans 3:20 that it’s by faith alone. James 2:21–24 states that it is by works. Acts 2:21 & Romans 10:13 says to just call on the name of the Lord and you will be saved, HOWEVER, Matthew 7:21 states that not everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Matthew 25:34–46 teaches that heaven is obtained only by helping the poor and needy and without doing so, one is eternally condemned.
Romans 8:29–30 & Romans 9:15–16 makes it very clear that salvation is only the result of election and predestination by God regardless of what anyone does. Yet, in the same book we are instructed in Romans 10:9 that we actually must confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord AND believe in our heart that God has raised Him from the dead. Can someone truly believe something that they have no evidence for? Is believing in Jesus any different than the billions of other people who believed in one of the other thousands of gods that history informs us of? Almost all believers of any religion simply believe that what their parents and culture taught them was true. Pure and simple.
Mark 16:16 declares you must be baptized, but then in 1 Corinthians 1:14 we hear the great missionary Paul thanking God that he didn’t baptize any of them, except for one or two. Romans 2:13 teaches that you must keep the law. Then we have Matthew 10:22 & Mark 13:13 saying that only those who endure to the end will be saved. Philippians 2:12 warns the reader to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling while John 3:16 says all you need to do is believe. James 2:14 makes it clear that faith alone is of no value while Galatians 5:4 says you are damned if you do not use faith alone.
John 6:53–54 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” And yes some, mainly Catholics, take this verse as literal.

RIGHT STANDING WITH GOD - 7 (of 8)
What is the pivot point of all Christianity?
Answer:  1. To advance the establishment of God’s Kingdom throughout the whole earth through our Christ calling as we bear fruit that remains.
Jesus' substitution and our identification with it. Jesus was made to be sin for us. He never committed sin but he became the nature of sin.  To the extent that I realize that Jesus was made to be sin, that is how much I will see myself as the righteousness of God in Him.
"He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." - 2 Corinthians 5:21
"He died for all, so that they who live might no longer liver for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf." - 2 Corinthians 5:15
"I am crucified, with Christ:  nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me:  and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me." - Galatians 2:20
What comes as a result of your first seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness?
Answer:  God loves me with the same love that He loves Jesus, since Jesus dwells in me.  I have as much right to expect God to move on my behalf as I would expect Him to respond to Jesus.
"When that day comes you will not ask me for anything.  I tell you the truth;  my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name." - John 16:23
“I in them, and You in Me--that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me and loved them even as You loved Me. – John 17:23
"I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing." - John 15:5
Why was David victorious against Goliath?
Answer:  He saw God on his side.  He knew he was in right standing with God and God was for him.
Because of Jesus’ sacrifice we never lose our right standing with God.
"What then shall we say to these things?  If God is for us, who is against us?" - Romans 8:31h
"But in all these things we over-whelmingly conquer through Him who loved us." - Romans 8:37
"For you have made the Lord, my refuge, even the Most High your dwelling place. For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways." - Psalm 91:9,11
What is the effect of righteousness (knowing that I am in right standing with God)?
Answer:  Quietness and assurance. I ask, seek, and knock (Matthew 7:7) until I come to understand My Christ calling. (Ephesians 4:1)
"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.  He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.  He restores my soul." - Psalm 23:1-3
“As a prisoner in the Lord, then, I urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling you have received:” – Ephesians 4:1
"For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus, having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God." - Philippians 1:6,11
When is it that nothing can prevail against you?
Answer:  When I can be confident of God's willingness to use His power on my behalf because of my right standing with Him.  I have no need to fear what Satan or man can do to me.
"For everyone born of God, has overcome the world.  This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith." - 1 John 5:4
"But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth." - 1 John 2:20
"But the Lord is faithful and will give you strength and will protect you from the Evil One." - 2 Thessalonians 3:3
INTO ACTION:
Affirm and meditate on the indicated scriptures four times daily until the renewing of your mind is made real to your spirit.
           AFFIRMATIONS:
Since God is for me, who can successfully come against me? (Romans 8:31)
I am more than a conqueror since nothing can separate me from the love of Christ.  (Romans 8:37,39)
Since I am free in Christ (Romans 8:1,2) (Galatians 5:1) and am always in right standing with God, there is nothing that can prevent me from bearing fruit that remains for His Kingdom through my Christ calling. (John 15:16)

God’s Anointing and Power in Our Lives
Mankind in a fallen, captive state, is incapable of rising to the high stature, high calling of God. Thanks be to God, for the anointing that removes burdens and breaks the yokes of sin, that keeps us bound.
God anointed Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, with the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him. (See Acts 10:38)
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified." (Isaiah 61:1-3)
At God's appointed time, "The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." (1 John 3:8)
Jesus who appeared in the flesh, and was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin, was able to resist the devil, and cast Him out of many, for He was full of the Holy Ghost and power. This Jesus, is calling disciples to Himself, to live holy lives, and to proclaim the good news of salvation in the earth, with signs and wonders following.
All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20)
"Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject to you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven."  (Luke 10:19-20)
In order to be effective ambassadors for Christ, we must be sanctified and consecrated vessels, reconciled to God, fruitful in every good work; bringing glory to His name.
"And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live." (Romans 8:10-11)
"Do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit. (Ephesians 5:18)
"Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee." (2 Corinthians 1:21 and 22)
A Prayer:
All thanks and praise to God our Father, for Christ His Son: Prophet, Priest and King; for the blessing of the Holy Spirit, and the anointing that breaks the yokes, and sets us free; for the power to daily walk in the Spirit; for a new and living way; for an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, that doesn't fade away. Amen.

Friend, on days when you feel overwhelmed, scared, or anxious, God is with you. How do we know this? Because it says many times in His Word that He is with us and will never leave us (Heb 3:5,Deut 31:8 for example).
Jesus said that in this world we will have troubles (Jn 16:33), but to take heart, because He has overcome the world. Jesus also said that He will be with us until the end of the age, (Matt 28:20).
“Fear not/Do not fear/Do not be afraid” (depending on the translation) are written hundreds of times throughout the Bible. It has been said that they are written 365 times (one for each day of the year)! The Bible tells us that when God is with us, there is nothing to fear (Isa 41:10), and God is ALWAYS with us. Amen! 🙌
Friend, whatever troubles you go through in this life, you don't go through them alone. God walks through the dark valley with you (Ps 23:4). Jesus is always with you (Matt 28:20) and the Comforter is with you and lives in you (Jn 14:17, 26). Furthermore, God is in control of every situation and is working all things for your good (Rom 8:28), no matter what it might seem like at the time!
When you pray, believe Matthew 19:26, that “nothing is impossible for God” and your faith will move mountains (Matt 17:20-21)! Also, when you pray, God's peace will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Phil 4:4-7). AND Jesus gives you His perfect peace (Jn 14:27)!
How can you know all this? Because all God's promises are in His Word and all His promises are “Yes” and “Amen!” (2Cor1:20) Below are just some of those promises. God bless you. Amen! 🙏
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” —Psalm 27:1 (NRSV)
“Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you;” —Isaiah 41:10a (AMPC)
“Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.” —1 Peter 5:7 (TPT)
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 4:4‭-‬7 (NRSV)
“Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]” —John 14:27 (AMP)
“But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” —Matthew 19:26 (ESV)
PRAYER: God, when I feel overwhelmed, scared, or anxious, please fill my heart and mind with Your perfect peace. Help me to remember that you are in control of every situation and that nothing is impossible for You. In Jesus' name, Amen! 🙏🕊️🙌

Citizens of Heaven
Philippians 3:20–21. Our citizenship is in heaven. (v. 20)
Those who become naturalized citizens in the U.S. are not required to give up their citizenship in their country of origin. They enjoy the privilege and corresponding responsibilities of dual citizenship. Christians also possess a kind of dual citizenship. We may have a national identity based on our country of origin or an ethnic heritage that gives us a sense of who we are. But because we have been united to Christ by faith, our primary identity is now heavenly. We are citizens of heaven because we have a heavenly expectation. We “eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,” who will return one day to establish His kingdom on earth (v. 20). Whatever other labels we may claim, our primary allegiance is to Him. What is more, Scripture tells us that we have already begun to enjoy the benefits of our citizenship in that kingdom and will one day experience it in its fullness (Col. 1v12–13).
We experience Christ’s kingdom through the power it has to “bring everything under his control” (Phil. 3v21). God demonstrates His rule by transforming us through His Spirit. As Romans 14:17 says, the kingdom is a matter of “righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” The experience of God’s transforming power in the present time anticipates a more significant change that will take place in the age to come. Christ “will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body” (v. 21). Not only is the gospel a message of forgiveness, but it is also one of transformation. The great hope of the Christian life is that one day “we shall be like Him, for we shall see him as He is” (1 John 3:2).
What does it mean to live as a citizen of the kingdom? According to 1 John 3:3, “All who have this hope in Him purify themselves, just as He is pure.”
