Parasyte: The Maxim OST – Ken Arai Favorite track: I AM (not an easy choice tho, bc there's so many bangers on that soundtrack... except bliss and next to you, theyre overrated)

Hellsing OST – Yasushi Ishii Favorite track: Gypsy of Atonement (also not an easy choice, put both these albums on shuffle and i can listen to it the whole days)

AKARI YOU HAVE TO WRITE a fic inspired by this song!!! Can you imagine, Chat Blanc searching in the sea of destruction, looking for her, CRYING for her? Only to realise she's dead, gone. She'll never come back and he's left behind. And he. Is. Devastated. I'm getting chills just from this. Imagine Chat Blanc but you set it up in a historical au. Gyaaaaaaa!!!

I would but the thing is, I’ve already written this scenario with Rolling Girl as inspiration! The song could potentially fit a heartbroken Chat Noir who finds out about Chat Blanc though!

As much as I’m a huge “LB LET HIM KNOW ABOUT CHAT BLANC!” I’m also “Ahahah if you tell him he’s gonna hate himself forever and probably never recover.” So this song could be a bittersweet scenario for the Chat Noir that knows.

A historical AU could be a good idea! I have an idea for a Victorian era story but I have no idea if this song would fit for me. Perhaps you should write it anon.

been thinking about that long playlist post. why was mafumafu on there. like i feel like after the second addition it stopped being at all objective and started being about artists that the people reblogging personally dislike and probably saw on a character playlist once, however. what is mafumafu even there for. if it’s his vocaloid originals those would be on the kinds of playlists that kikuo, maretu, and kairiki bear would be on and those artists are far far more overused. if it’s for his covers then miyashita yuu is at least as overused if not more (and more overrated as well, in my opinion). if it’s for his original songs that he actually sings then. what playlists are those on. are people putting the soramafuurasaka songs on individual character playlists. i’m not even a goddamn fan of mafumafu but. it just doesn’t make sense to me for him to be included in that post and not some other much more overused characters.

11. three favourite songs from movie or TV series soundtrack Complex - Ken Arai (Parasyte: The Maxim OST) Holding Out For a Hero - Jennifer Saunders (Shrek 2 Soundtrack) Kakusei - Superfly (Promare Soundtrack)

I think I genuinely like the Shrek 2 version of Holding Out For a Hero more than the original one skdjgfs. The Parasyte ost fucks severely, it's so wonderfully 2014 in the best way. Also Kakusei changed me as a person when I first heard it <3 I gotta stream promare for yall at some point

12. three favourite songs from video games Time Gear - Arata Iiyoshi (PMD Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky OST) You Will Know Our Names - ACE+ (Xenoblade Chronicles OST) A Flower-Studded Sake Dish on Mt. Ooe - ZUN (東方地霊殿　～ Subterranean Animism OST)

It's so hard to pick just three.... time gear is so so important 2 me though, so I had to chose it even over Dialga's Fight to the Finish or other related tracks... it's the blueprint the overarching motif of the entire game... auh. Go play PMD Explorers of Sky. Was debating between you will know our names and unfinished battle for my xenoblade pick and tbh. still torn they're both so so good. ALSO ENGAGE THE ENEMY..... head in my hands. MY TOUHOU PICK WAS DIFFICULT TOO. but I really love yuugi's theme, it's a great mix of calm and powerful and I loove whenever I can get her spell cards to sync with the music :]

I’ve made a few lists about my favorite anime opening and ending songs, but I also listen to a lot of anime OST (original soundtrack) tracks that I really wanted to give a shoutout to!

I’m going to be linking to the tracks on Spotify, but I’m sure there are other places you can find these songs too.

81194 (Ray’s Theme) - The Promised Neverland

Ray is my favorite character in The Promised Neverland, and I absolutely adore his haunting theme. I think it captures his personality and role in the show extremely well.

My Lie - Your Lie in April

I really would love to put the entirety of Your Lie in April on this list, but if I have to choose only one of the non-lyrical songs off the OST it has to be My Lie. This track is repeated throughout the anime at emotional and evocative moments, and represents Your Lie in April’s heartbreaking nature.

Next to You - Parasyte: the Maxim

This OST track was very memorable for me, I was able to identify it at moments in the show where it acted as a mark of Shinichi’s inner struggles, or at times when it represented his interactions with another character. I really love this song, and even listening to it now makes me very emotional.

The Breakfast Song - From Up on Poppy Hill

I wasn’t going to include any Ghibli songs on this list (because I love too many of them) but I think I’m just going to create a separate Ghibli list later. That being said, I needed to talk about The Breakfast Song. This song was so memorable to me while watching the film, and it’s just super freaking cute and fun. It really fits the theme of the movie, because the main family runs what is essentially a Bed and Breakfast and provides meals for all their lodgers.

First View of Tokyo - Your Name

I am a huge fan of RADWIMPS, the band who wrote the soundtrack for both Your Name and Weathering With You. (like, remember when Spotify showed you what band you were in the top 1% of listeners for? I got that for RADWIMPS) I love pretty much every song on both of those soundtracks, but this song was particularly memorable to me because of its title and at what moment the track occurs during the movie.

Fandom’s 5 Horror Anime to Watch

I am a baby. I am not good with horror. But sometimes I find myself craving a good scare, and I have just the anime I go to for that. If you want an anime that’ll scare you or give you chills, or even just has a good spooky soundtrack to check out, these are right up your alley. 

Just please do mind the content warnings, as many of these deal with incredibly graphic, disturbing, and downright terrifying content. 

And with that, let’s begin. 

#1) Dusk Maiden of Amnesia

Teiichi Niiya is a first year who attends Seikyou Private Academy, a school with over 60 years of history and mysteries, and has been added to so much that its easy to get lost in the crisscross of old and new buildings. One day, when he ends up lost in the old building, Teiichi comes across the ghost of a young girl named Yuuko Kanoe, who has lost all memory of her life leading up to her death, and the two decide to form a club to try and recover her lost memories.

If you want my full thoughts on this one, I have a review of the anime right here. Out of all of them, this one is probably the lightest in terms of scares, but its very rich in story and characters. 

#2) Parasyte: The Maxim

Shinichi Izumi is a high school student in Tokyo who ends up with a parasitic worm like creature completely taking over his right hand. This entity, given the name Migi, was supposed to completely take over Shinichi’s body, but is now permanently stuck in his right hand, leaving the two as separate minds sharing one body. As other parasites slowly begin to take over other human hosts, Shinichi and Migi quickly realize that, if they want to survive, they’ll have to work together. 

This one was quite the rollercoaster of a ride and by far has one of my most favorite OSTs and some of my favorite animated fight sequences of all time. Definitely worth a watch if you’re okay with extreme body horror. 

#3) Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, AKA When They Cry

The year is 1983, and Keiichi Maebara and his family have recently moved to the small rural town of Hinamizawa. He befriends and joins the club of his fellow school mates Rena, Mion, Satoko, and Rika, and everyone excitedly prepares for the annual Watanagashi Festival, where the town gives thanks to their local deity Oyashiro. However, a curse seems to be plaguing the town, as every year for the last four years during the festival, one person dies, and another goes missing. 

By far one of the best visual novel adaptations ever put to anime, this series is chock full of scares, paranoia, and amazingly enough, hope. It’s getting a remake coming out this year, but I beg you to watch the original 2006 anime adaptation first. It’s still an amazing anime even 14 years later.

#4) Shiki

It is the summer of 1994, and all seems well in the little village of Sotoba. That is, until the Kirishiki family moves into the abandoned mansion on the hill. Slowly, people start dying of an unknown cause. Others say they’ve seen their lost loved ones walking about at night. As Dr. Ozaki tries to find answers, a young boy named Natsuno Yuuki, who hates the village, begins to feel he’s being stalked by Megumi Shimizu, a girl who wanted to leave Sotoba and was the first victim of these mysterious deaths.

This one is hauntingly beautiful in many ways and stands out with its unique art style, chilling soundtrack, and overall atmosphere of dark and disturbing. A definite much watch. 

And if you have already checked this one out, I suggest looking into the series Another, as the authors of Shiki and Another are married in real life.

#5) Hell Girl

Have you heard of the Hell Correspondence? It’s very simple really. You wait until midnight, and submit the name of the person you hate the most into the website. Ai Enma then appears to you, and offers you a doll. Pull the string around its neck, and she will banish your tormentor straight into the depths of Hell. However, if you do this, you enter a contract with her, and when your death comes for you, you will also be banished into Hell. If it came down to it, would you pull the string?

This is one of the very first horror anime I have ever watched. And holy shit. It is a fantastic masterpiece of storytelling in the first two seasons. Seasons three and four are a bit lackluster, but still have their charm, and overall the story of Ai and the people she interacts with are amazing. Probably the second heaviest of all the titles listed here (as it’s hard to top Higurashi), but its one that I insist you watch if you can.
