Hey Jen, I just wanted to say I read the 1x23 review and LOVED it! I do remember seeing and/or reading a few hints that you were a Dallas fan over the years (that show is my JAM, my and I still watch the DVD's), what are your ships from that series (if you don't mind my asking, I would LOVE to talk about the show with you)? I'm SO with you on Pam's death, that was AWFUL (and only just a YEAR after we got Bobby back)?
Aww thank you Nonnie! I am very happy to FINALLY have completed Season 1. Now it's on to Season 2!
Yes, I was a hard core Dallas fan and I loved Pam & Bobby. It's safe to say they were my first ship. I think it was 1987 so that would have made me 6 at the time she died. I was HYSTERICAL. My mom had a big conversation with me about tv not being real and every time she saw Victoria Principle on anything else she'd point it out to me and say, "See? Pam's not really dead."
It was so many years ago but I don't remember the show being that good after she died. Victoria Principle was vital to that series. As vital as JR & Bobby.

Clari! Hello i am back once again to ask you what is the "Dari" aesthetic?
Like what are the vibes, do you have any mood boards or anything? 👀👀
hi hi hi sunshine!!! <33 i have an obscenely embarrassing amount of photos saved that remind me of me + dabi but i am absolutely horrid at making moodboards so >.< i tried my best with this HAHAHA but visual aesthetic wise we’re very much that cliché girly girl x bad boy, pink and black type combo <33

i especially love the last photo because that girl looks scarily similar to me LMAOOOO like seriously
in terms of what it feels like: late night drives speeding way too fast through vacant city streets; empty diners at 3am; sharp knuckles and sharp collarbones; icy hands between warm thighs; giggles bouncing off the bark of dense forests; the dainty sound of pills clicking against plastic; warped hardwood floors and a stove with two working burners; dirty fingernails tearing through white lace; combat boots splashing in puddles on the asphalt; midnight double features at the rundown drive-in; hard candy clacking against teeth as sugary tongues force it from one mouth into another; love notes scrawled hastily on torn pieces of paper; scars in the shape of hands, his teeth, his name

Mollibby has quite a few parallels to a few of the adult pairings we've seen in the show so far.
There are the obvious parallels with Pete and Sharon (which I LOVE).
Tumblr media
Then there's Mrs and Mrs Roop.
One's obsessed with History (Libby & Mrs Roop).
Tumblr media
The other's the sweetest baker you'll ever meet (Molly & Pam)!
Tumblr media
Absolutely LOVE how they talk about their respective cuties when they're not around!
Tumblr media
I totally believe that Pam gave Libby the idea to bake cupcakes for her and Molly to share. There's not changing my mind on that!
Tumblr media
Now for the Patty and Bobbie Parallels!
If Scratch sent a text to Libby in "Scratch the Surface"...
Tumblr media
Then he would've did to Molly and Libby what Linda did to Patty and Bobbie.
Tumblr media
Molly and Libby would've been more sad and awkward, since neither of them plan on leaving Brighton any time soon.
Look at how salty Scratch and Linda were over their respective besties spending more time with other people!!
Tumblr media
Molly threatening to put Scratch in the After-Afterlife if he tried to sabotage her love life was funny to me.
Tumblr media
When Libby said she didn't have a leather jacket, my first thought was "Bobbie! Give her yours when she's older!"
Tumblr media
She'd look so cute wearing it with her many turtle accessories!
What do you guys think of all of this?

Hello there I made a tcm au were nubbins and chop top are swapped chop being in the first movie and nubbins being in the second i decided to rewrite the Van scene for this au if y’all like it I might make more stuff for this au anyways hope you enjoy
“ dammit how are we gonna get gas now” Jerry said upon receiving the news that the gas station they were at was indeed completely out of it “ I guess we can try looking somewhere else” pam said trying to reassure everyone “ ugh there’s not one for miles” Jerry said in defeat “ that’s not true” a unfamiliar voice spoke. Everyone turned there heads to see were the voice came from “ there’s one just a couple blocks from here” “ who the hell are you” Pam said to the stranger. As she said that a man walked closer to the group he long hair, purple tinted sunglasses, a purple tie dyed shirt and a leather vest littered with color pins “ I see y’all are a little lost I thought i could help” the man said giving them a bright smile “ you didn’t answer her question of you who’s you were” Franklin spoke up “ oh! My name’s Bobby happy to meet” Bobby said offering franklin a handshake “ uh nice to you to” Franklin said while shaking his hand “ hey could you tell us more about that gas station” Jerry said while walking up to Bobby “ oh there’s a 7 eleven just a few blocks down from here” Bobby then pulls something from his bag “ I’ve actually got a map if y’all want it” jerry took the map from bobby and inspected it. It appeared to be hand made being very crinkled up and having some stains on but it seemed to give them a lot of info on the area “ wow yous got a lot of knowledge on this part of town” Jerry said impressed “ yeah I used to love driving around the country with my twin finding places we’s never knew even existed” Bobby said with clear excitement in his voice “ unfortunately my big brother doesn’t let’s me drive anymore but I still remember all the places we went to” “ why doesn’t your brother let you drive anymore” Franklin asked intrigued “ oh umm I wound up wrecking his truck really badly then he never let me drive it again” “ that’s a shame you seem great with directions” sally said “ thank you” bobby said with a smile. After saying this he then looked back at Jerry “ you know i really like your hair” bobby said smiling at him “ oh umm thank you” Jerry caught off guard by the compliment “ do you like music” Bobby asked “ uh yeah I’ve got a lot of records in my van” this immediately captured Bobby’s attention “ you have records!?” He said with pure excitement “ yeah I’ve got” and before Jerry could even finish his sentence Bobby immediately ran into his van and dove for his records “ you’ve got so many” Bobby said looking through “ hey I never said you could touch those” Jerry said trying to get Bobby’s attention however Bobby seemed to completely ignore him still rummaging through “ wow yous got quite the collection I’m impressed” Bobby said picking up one of the records “ I said I never told you you could touch those” Jerry said way more aggressively however Bobby still ignored him still looking through “ aye you need to calm the fuck down” Jerry said while placing a hand on Bobby’s shoulder in a last attempt to get his attention. As soon as Jerry did this Bobby immediately turned his head towards Jerry now with a look of pure anger on his face “ don’t you touch me!” Bobby spat and before Jerry could say anything Bobby reached in his bag and grabbed a small knife and stabbed Jerry in the arm. Jerry screamed in agony everyone immediately came to Jerry’s aid grabbing Bobby off of Jerry and throwing him out of the van they all immediately ran inside as quick as they could and floored the van out of there. As they drove away Bobby was screaming death threats and insults at them “ I had a bad feeling about that guy from the start” Pam said still in shock by the whole situation

❛ why is this so important to you ? ❜ olivia to bobby
mischiefxmanagcd
Tumblr media
Where exactly it was that Olivia had found the ring Bobby couldn’t be sure, but the mere sight of it brought back a flood of memories he hadn't thought about in years. He and the original owner of that particular piece of jewelry had been through hell and back together mutiple times and would forever be a part of each other's hearts, despite the fact that they hadn't been a part of each other's lives in decades. He'd gotten over her and put everything behind him a long time ago, but she still preyed upon his mind every now and then when he least expected it.
"It belonged to Christopher's mother." Bobby never really spoke of Pam much, so he couldn't blame Olivia for not knowing the ring was much more valuable than just another bracelet or necklace she could wear to a party or social event the family attended. "I've been saving it for him to give to his own wife one day, if he wants to."

can i say something. i am kind of scared to say something bc dick ship wars kind of scare me even though i have absolutely no preference and care extremely little about dick ships. but. hm. the thinking about 80s and 90s medias as products of their time got me thinking a bit.
so. the interesting thing to me about dick-kory in the 70s and 80s vs dick-babs in the 90s and early 00s os how much each of those couples was entrenched in the media ideals of the time and what people were looking for in a ship.
so like, if you look at dick-kory, theirs is a larger than life love that is destined from the moment she kissed him to learn human language. and theirs is a dynamic and relationship dripping in the popular soap opera tropes that were very pervasive a the time. you can't actually divorce their tribulations (dick being kind of condescending to kory as the Man of the relationship, she's a princess who has to get married for political reasons and dick gets mad, kory gets mad at him for supposedly cheating when he was raped by mirage, the epic wedding that gets literally blown up by raven to name a few) from the media norms that were very popular. they fight passionately and make up passionately very frequently. this is a very common dynamic in the 80s, where soap operas were topping the charts. everyone was watching general hospital. *30 million* people tuned in to see luke and laura get married and their relationship started with him raping her (which was later turned into "seduction") and they were considered like THE couple ever. everyone was watching dynasty. dallas was hugely popular. falcon crest. knots landing. dick and kory's relationship mirrors a lot of what people were eating up back then in the soap opera type media the new titans was emulating. luke and laura. gary and valene. bo and hope. bobby and pam. dick and kory. can you really talk about dick and kory if you don't know what was going on with "bope" back then? for reference, here's what was going on with bo and hope:
Tumblr media
anyways. enter the 90s and the soap opera fervor died down in a massive way. soap operas were no longer prime time material and their popularity died down in a massive way & actually people started more making fun of the overwrought storylines and soaps in general. the ideas of destined, one true love was suddenly far more unappealing to people who thought it was cheesy & tired. what people in the 90s were looking for was not true love that is constantly tested and put through the wringer--what was gaining in popularity was UST and will they won't they dynamics. enter dick-babs. and while i wholly disagree with the idea of diminishing kory's importance in dick's life just to uplift babs, i don't entirely disagree with the notion that kory probably wouldn't have really worked in batbooks, so i understand why batbooks wanted to focus on a loveline for dick for a character they had full control of and could work into the stories. and, hm. moving dick away from the destined one true love at the time that was kory allowed them to put him in the romantic situations that 90s audiences were vibing with instead. because you can't suddenly do a will they won't they with a couple who's been solidly dating for *years*. so with dick and babs you're able to do that. he's interested while she's dating someone else. he flirts with someone else for a bit while she's single. while the entire time they're still good working partners while circling around each other. will they? or won't they? and this was super common in late 90s/early 00s sitcom shows that people loved and were at the top of the charts. the x-files with scully and mulder. friends with rachel and ross. fran and mr. sheffield from the nanny. it's still very much playing to what people wanted to see back then.
anyways as someone who truly has no horse in this race i do think media norms of the time around couplings are interesting to dissect.
