I was able to watch some of Bisan's live earlier too! She spoke about how many in Gaza are seeing what is happening across university campuses and they're so happy/cheerful about everyone coming out to support Palestine and to protest Israeli war crimes and the ongoing mass genocide against Palestinian people. She emphasized for us, as a global community, to keep going -to keep protesting, to keep boycotting, and to keep making an impact -and then I saw that she posted this video, and I wanted to talk about it here too because yes -we will never stop talking about Palestine.

America dropped TWO MONTH EXPIRED SKITTLES for gazan children to eat.
say something, zionists. go on. say something. ‘they deserve it those terrorists’ ‘at least they got food. be happy.’ ‘it’s just skittles”
shut. the. fuck. up.
I’m tired of you all acting like these aren’t actual kids who really just freaking lived and was born and all of a sudden they’re terrorists. and for what? for. what.
I don’t care WHAT kind of ‘villainy’ palestine has committed in the past, those kids NEVER DESERVED THIS. PALESTINE DOES NOT DESERVE ANY OF THIS. TELL ME, WHO ON EARTH WOULD DESERVE THIS? ITS FUCKING HORRIBLE. ITS TERRIBLE.
those kids never asked to be palestinian so stop fucking acting like they did. it’s enough. it’s horrible. most kids would play outside at their age. they would study and go to school. they would laugh with friends and draw pictures and color colouring books. these kids constantly look out for an air strike and pull out bodies from under the rubble. they pray for their dead family members and bid final goodbyes to them. these kids eat fucking expired skittles and bread made from fucking animal feed.
I don’t care what happened in the past. no one deserves this. y’all are monsters for thinking they do.
palestine will be free.

Do you condemn the murder of children? Or is it complicated when it’s middle eastern children? When it’s brown children? When it’s Muslim children? Is it complicated when they don’t speak English? When you can’t understand their cries for help? Is it complicated when the news tells you it is? When they lie? Is it complicated because you can’t let go of the idea that your friends and your politicians know everything, or is it complicated because you don’t care for the lives dying in this genocide?
The evidence is undeniable by anybody with a shred of morals and a brain at all. Only the uneducated, stupid, ignorant, or evil continue to support the Israeli government’s war crimes, genocide, and apartheid state. It isn’t antisemetic to support Palestine, it’s the intellectually and morally correct stance. Free Palestine, fuck Israel.

The USA just signed off a nearly 100b military aid for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. But one of these is not like the others.
Ukraine was invaded by Russia.
Taiwan has been pressured to unify with the mainland and in some cases is actively erased and written off as part of china (eg. some airline companies are forbade from flying to Taiwan by china because 'Taiwan doesn't exist')
Israel is the aggressors, they're committing genocide. Palestine is the one being invaded, erased and demonised.
26 billion dollars is to be spent on 'military aid' for Israel, most of which will be weapons. The news articles often focus on Ukraine because it got the most money, the billions that are going towards the Gaza genocide barely get a mention in US news.
And any mention describes the funding as 'to fight Hamas militants and fend off airstrikes from Iran', not 'massacring Palestinians and antagonising other countries'.
It's fucking sick.
Don't be swayed by the propaganda, don't be ignorant, don't forget.
From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.

Nothing like hearing how my mom and grandma are at a university assisting college students who got tased by cops because they were protesting for Israel to stop committing genocide.
That was the first thing I heard when I got home-
What the hell happened to first amendment rights? Because all I see now is that the freedom of protest and the freedom of speech doesn't apply when people speak out against genocide.
I live in such a hypocritical country, good lord.

Un large éventail de tous les segments de la communauté étudiante américaine, y compris les Juifs, s'élèvent contre le génocide à Gaza.

Anyone else think that this is getting ridiculous? They rather throw their own population into prison than admit that they are guilty of aiding a genocide of a native people? No wonder that I have found so many posts and comments about people being ashamed of being westerners. I hope this madness ends soon.

platforming palestinian joy is just as important as sharing the suffering they're enduring during this genocide. despite continued displacement and bombardment, you cannot steal their joy and spirit. happy birthday to this sweet baby 🖤🇵🇸 may they grow up to see a free palestine
edit: @saffronlesbian made a video description for this post!!
[vd: a screen recording of a tweet from the 20th of April 2024 with 2.5 million views, from Ruhi @/ruhi_hi. the caption reads, "This video of this little Palestinian angel celebrating his bday in a refugee camp" followed by three emoji of a smiling face with teary eyes. the video clip is 11 seconds long and shows a one-year-old baby seated on the sandy ground, smiling hugely and clapping his hands while people sing to him from offscreen and a large cake is placed in front of him. stuck into the top of the cake is a decoration that reads "happy birthday" in english. the video has the tiktok handle @/ibrahim.jamal99 visible in it. /end vd.]

Being from Gaza, Palestine is so different.
I tell people I'm from Gaza and I get pity, I get the "oh... do you have family there?" and I have to act tough, I am tough, it runs in my veins. Being from Gaza is expecting that reaction, the sorrow, it's dealing with dumbass people everyday, it's getting the "can you go there?" question. (No i cant btw).
I am from Gaza, I feel emotions just like everyone else, I feel anger and hurt and longing for a place I cant visit, I feel love and comfort and right now I feel alone and like im yelling at the world to pay attention and NO ONE CARES.
I am from Gaza, my thoughts belong to Gaza, my heart, my skin color, the way I speak, the way I say words a bit differently than the rest of the Palestinians, the way I wish I was a filmmaker to share my culture with the world.
I am from Gaza, i am aware of how different my people are, i am aware that i grew up differently, I am aware I grew up looking at the news from my grandparents television with my aunt waiting for news about her family, I am aware that I have trauma in my veins, I am aware that my culture is taken over and that I can't really speak about it, I am aware that not everyone experiences your aunt screaming that her brother died and yelling "He's apart of my soul, my soul died"
I am from Gaza, I hurt, I feel, I love, I care and my heart, soul and mind all belong to my beautiful land and its people.

"A Palestinian family in Tal al-Sultan camp, west of Rafah, decorates its tent in preparation for the month of Ramadan in order to preserve Ramadan customs and bring joy and happiness to the children to alleviate the effects of war." from Belal Khaled, 02/Mar/2024:

Palestine has hope. Say it with me. Palestine has hope. Palestine has hope. Shit like this has happened in the past, and there have always been survivors to tell the tale. Palestine has hope. Palestine has hope. It’s true.

[i've never doubted that palestine will live.
the US dropped more than 7.5 million tons of bombs on vietnam, laos and cambodia from 1965-75. they destroyed our land, used agent orange, slaughtered villages, separated families, the list goes on.
but we're. still. here.
indigenous people are still here. black people are still here. colonized people are resilient. even if you kill our people, ban our languages, destroy our homes, heritage sites and artifacts, we will always find a way to keep our cultures alive and that has always been true
so much of the west and isntreal's tactics and actions are hauntingly familiar to me as a viet person. its a colonizer's rinse and repeat. and so that's how i know palestine will be free. we've seen this film before]
