As someone who is studying history with a big interest in 1940-1980, it is insane to see the crack down on the college protests. History does nothing but repeat itself. It happened with protests against segregation, against the Vietnam War, against the Iraq war… and how we view it looking back is always the same. People always ask why studying history is important. This is exactly why.

PROTESTERS DISPLAY MEMORIAL TO THE DEAD IN GAZA FOR BIDEN WHITE HOUSE
📹 Scenes from demonstrations in Washington DC, in the United States, where protesters displayed a memorial on a building to the over 140 journalists killed in the Israeli occupation's genocidal bombardment of the Gaza Strip.
The memorial was displayed for the Biden administration and American journalists to see during last night's White House Correspondants' Dinner.

are you going to a pro-palestine march or rally this week? maybe a vigil for aaron bushnell or a protest outside the home of your local genocide-loving politician? this is a friendly reminder from your antifa protest dad to cover your face, take steps to de-identify yourself, and keep protest-related evidence (including any photos/video) off of social media. and, as always, don't fucking talk to cops. stay safe, stay dangerous.

Where can I find Free Palestine protests and Ceasefire protests?
A super international and continually updated list of actions can be found at Samidoun: Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network's:
Tumblr media
Calendar of Resistance for Palestine 2024
They list events by date, then alphabetically by country, then by city - and it's common for them to have dozens of actions listed for a single date, especially on the weekends.
The United States especially often has 40+ events on a single day, especially on the weekends.
Events are posted with links to the event info posted by whoever's hosting the vast majority of the time.
Look blow the read-more for a list of many of the countries that have been on this protest calendar, in alphabetical order, since I know so many websites/lists of actions are country-specific
*Obviously this isn't the only good source of listings for protest events - there are many others. This is by far the biggest/most international roundup I've found, though, so I started with this. If you know another good place for finding ceasefire protests/events, please feel free to add it in the notes, bc I'm planning to put a bigger roundup together once I find enough other sites
Countries that Samidoun has listed/does list protests for include (in alphabetical order):
North America:
United States
Canada
Mexico
Puerto Rico (listed separately in anti-colonial solidarity)
Hawai'i (listed separately in anti-colonial solidarity)
Europe:
Austria
Belgium
Bulgaria
Denmark
England
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Hungary
Iceland
Ireland
Italy
Netherlands
Norway
Portugal
Romania
Scotland
Serbia
Spain
Sweden
Switzerland
Wales
SWANA Region (Southwest Asia/North Africa)*:
Bahrain
Iraq
Jordan
Kuwait
Lebanon
Palestine
Tunisia
Turkiye (Turkey)
*Samidoun notes that "We know that these events are mainly international and that the Arab people are marching everywhere for Palestine – we will be honored to add more Arab events whenever we are informed!"
Asia:
Bangladesh
India
Indonesia
Japan
Malaysia
Maldives
Pakistan
South Korea
Africa:
Kenya
Mauritius
Nigeria
South Africa
Tanzania
Tunisia
*Duplicating North African countries (well, Tunisia) here from the SWANA list btw
South America:
Brazil
Colombia
Chile
Peru
Venezuela
Australia and Oceania:
Aotearoa (New Zealand)
Australia

Okay, with the blackout happening tomorrow, I'm going to be harsh. Mutuals, if I see any of you post anything other than Palestine tomorrow, it's gonna be a block.
One day. Don't post/reblog anything unrelated for ONE DAY. Can you do that?
If not, then you don't care about Palestine. This blackout is for them, and it only works if a lot of people join. It'd REALLY work if everyone did.
Don't think that you won't make a difference. You will. But only if you participate.
March 2nd. Full blackout. Only post/reblog stuff about Palestine, or don't post at all.
We are so close to a ceasefire. Hopefully this will put it over the edge. If not, it will still get us closer and closer.
If some world-shattering news happens tomorrow during the blackout, SAVE AS A DRAFT. Reblog it the day after. I'm being so serious right now, breaking this will defeat the entire point.
Free Gaza, stand with Palestine.
March 2nd.
Feel free to reblog this if you plan on participating in the blackout, too. Reblogs are on.
EDIT: I'm realizing how many people do not know about this, so I'm gonna judge the block thing case by case. But yeah. Stand with Palestine.

I watched the blurred footage of Aaron Bushnell's self-immolation, and I just want to give a warning to anyone that might be considering watching it: he is blurred after the fire catches, but the audio alone is extremely intense. The blurring also does not cover his entire body near the very end of the video, and you can see part of him on fire, unblurred.
If you believe you can handle it, please watch, and understand the message he sent with his life. If you can't handle it, that's okay. Read the transcript if you can. Take care of yourself, and keep fighting for a free Palestine. It's what Aaron wanted from all of us.
We need to keep fighting.
We need to end the genocide.
From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.

The people have spoken! We pledge unwavering solidarity with Palestine and all those fighting for freedom, today, tomorrow, and every day until liberation.
Politicians, we've heard you, now hear us!! You no longer speak for us. Your thirst for power and wealth has blinded you to our struggles. But we refuse to be silenced any longer. The era of your dominance is crumbling before our eyes as we reclaim our narrative and defy your tyranny and greed.
Power to the people! Liberation for all those shackled by the chains of Western imperialism! 🇵🇸✊🏽

DIVEST FROM BANKS FOR PALESTINE
.....Correct me if I'm wrong but allies to Israel would have no money to move around and spend if we and banks have no money to move around for them right?
Even the US treasury needs a way to offer collateral for the billions they give to countries like Israel. Do you know what that collateral has been thus far? Your paycheck. The future paychecks of babies that can't even talk yet. That's how they'll pay all this off.
The government has been giving us the biggest fuck you that they could. Let's return the favor.
"yeah but the banks-"
Have been bailed out every time they've asked for it since I've been alive. They love debt when they aren't the ones paying it. They'll know how heavy the weight of their arms dealing is. There's a reason they have been phasing out paper checks and money- they can't move money they don't have and digital bank accounts can't see the paper money in your drawer ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So yes absolutely keep boycotting.
And we should pull all our money out of Major Banks.
It's incredibly accessible for most people who already have a bank account, even if you can't protest or strike. And you don't have to miss any work.
So let's hit em where it hurts.
Banks (from this list of Banks that heavily fw Israel)
Citibank
Bank Julius Baer & Co
Bank Lombard Odier & Co
Banque Pictet & Cia SA
BNP Paribas Israel
CBH Compagnie Bancaire Helvetique S.A.
Dreyfus Sons & Co.
Hyposwiss Private Bank Geneve SA
JP Morgan Chase Bank N.A.
Silicon Valley Bank
Union Bancaire Privee
HSBC
Barclays
BNP Paribas Israel
State Bank of India
Other banks that have supported the genocide
Goldman Sachs
Bank of America
Wells Fargo
Blackrock
AXA
Capital One
RBS
Marks & Spencer
Tesco
Scotia Bank
Bank of Montreal
No, you don't have to cancel your direct deposits (most places in the USA won't even pay you without an account anyway). But you should drain your account ASAP. Don't let the money sit in your bank. Pull it out and use cash for everything you can. Don't put money in the bank unless you need to.
The point is just to keep as much money as you can out of banks for as long as you can.
Yeah it's gonna be harder to order online which may be inconvenient until we readjust but thats good.
It'll be a natural way for the boycotts to evolve.
A lot of fighting in the Red Sea is being done because of how much money the USA, UK, etc have to lose if they can't get their products on time. The Houthis turning ships away cost these countries millions every time. If there are less ships to turn away cuz people aren't ordering stuff from overseas then Good.
Yeah we could have an organized day to do this but...why??? It's accessible, it's free, and the people across the globe experiencing a genocide right now, from north America to Africa to Palestine don't have the luxury of waiting a few months for us to spread the word and organize.
If you see this share it. Copy/paste, repost, retweet, idc. Spread like wildfire pls
