The mass burial for them is being streamed right now on Nigerian news networks, presided over by the Catholic Diocese. The words he said that stuck with me is that "this is nonsense" and he's absolutely right; it's utter nonsense. He just doesn't realize how truly nonsense it is.
This attack was north vs. south. My religion versus theirs. It's people killing and being killed over their preferred flavor of bed time story.
Do not let anyone tell you that religion is anything other than human barbarism dressed up mildly better.
There was pandemonium at Saint Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, Owo, the headquarters of the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State as gunmen attacked the church on Sunday.
The attack on the church in Owo, the hometown of the state Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, came barely a week after the Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Bishop Samuel Kanu-Uche, was kidnapped in Abia State by gunmen the priest later identified as Fulani youths.
It was learnt the gunmen, who attacked the Catholic church, arrived at the premises, which is less than 200 metres from the palace of the Olowo of Owo, at 12pm when the Sunday mass was being rounded off.
The PUNCH gathered that worshippers, mostly children and women, were killed in the attack, by gunmen, who were said to have thrown an improvised explosive device before they started shooting sporadically.
OWO, ONDO STATE, NIGERIA — Nigerian officials have blamed the terrorist group Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) for an attack on a church in the country's southwest that killed at least 40 people.
Sunday's shooting at St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo was the first linked to ISWAP in Nigeria's southwest, raising fears that terrorism in the country is spreading.
Nigerian Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola spoke to journalists in Abuja on Thursday, soon after a National Security Council meeting. He said authorities had monitored the situation for days and that "from all indications, they're zeroing in on the Islamic State of West African Province.”

It was quiet in the church tonight. No one was around, and perhaps the priest was a little bored. Perhaps there were some frustrations too, but either way, he was about to get those handled.
What he wasn't expecting was for Nai to come into the church looking for him. He was in the middle of getting himself off when he heard him call out. Honestly, Nico would have ignored him if he hadn't walked right on up to the confessional he was hiding in.
Horny and frustrated, Nico reached out from the booth to cover his mouth with a hand and pull the other inside. A flash of red in his eyes as he peered out of the booth to ensure no one else was coming to see what the noise was about. "I was having a little private moment," he stated, looking to Nai, "Did you need something?" He was covered, but the other would very much see that he was erect.
Nai had been looking for the man to discuss something on the church, it looked like there was a pipe that might break if they had another sandstorm and he wanted to run it by him before replacing it.
When he'd passed the confessional he hadn't expected the hand to snap around his mouth nor to be wrenched into the tight space with the other. Or rather, half shoved into the seat as the other searched around only to turn on him.
His eyes were wide, a slight flare of light in his eyes before it died out leaving him dazed as he stared at the other. The words clicked in his brain, eyes flicking down before snapping back up to the other's gaze, soft glowing lines forming over his cheeks in a sort of uncontrolled blush.
"I-" he swallowed hard around the faint sound that threatened to break free. "I-it can wait, sir." fingers twitched on the seat he'd found himself falling into, breaths canting slightly as he tried to keep his eyes up and angle his body to hide the fact his discovery had burned right down to his waist.
"M-my apologies." he heard his voice pitch again, internally cursing himself but he didn't dare to move from the seat, trapped in the box with the man standing at the only exit he had, unless he was stupid enough to try and wriggle through the partition.
He was the smarter brother.
