It's honestly frustrating that I've seen non-Russian queer people almost bragging about how they would be illegal in Russia, labeled an extremist or terrorist. Russian queers are in danger, their government has made it clear where it stands, and it's made this effort for the better part of a decade (even longer, perhaps). This will kill people, don't mistake this for a quirky little proclamation from a government, akin to somebody saying the sky is pink. Russian queer people were already expressing their fear, and the least we can do now is express our love for them, and advocate with them.
Russian queer people, I love you. I love you all so much. I am so sorry, I cannot begin to express the grief that I feel, and I hope that you are safe. Words cannot encapsulate how I feel as a non-Russian, and I cannot hope to comprehend how it feels to actually be in this situation.

this one is for the non americans. who else remembers being a pre-teen reading american books + listening to american songs + consuming american media all the time and constantly daydreaming what would life be if you lived in america while forgetting/ignoring your own national identity until you grew up and by then you felt like too much of a foreigner in your own skin surrounded by your land and your language

vaguely unrelated but this is what gets me about americans claiming to be irish because of distant ancestery and dna test and whatever. whilst ye have the privilege of declaring yereselves irish based on literally nothing (and being really fucking annoying about it too) non white irish people are brutalised for saying they are irish. every single immigrant in this country is more irish than any plastic paddy bitch. whilst tiffany who did a dna test and found she was 9% irish or whatever is rebranding her whole personality to circle around this, Black irish people are being attacked for calling themselves irish. Black irish people who have been living in ireland their whole lives, their parents whole lives, their GRANDPARENTS whole lives, arent allowed to call themselves irish. EVERY SINGLE IMMIGRANT IN IRELAND HAS A RIGHT TO BE HERE AND A RIGHT TO BE TREATED WITH THE SAME RESPECT AND DIGNITY SHOWN TO EVERY OTHER IRISH PERSON

It’s really annoying how people are completely ignoring the fact that Miles Morales is Afro Latino on FB.
Like, the amount of times I’ve seen people suggest an African American actor with zero Latino roots is yikes. Then when you point out that Miles has a Puerto Rican mom, that he speaks Spanish and is therefore Hispanic/Latino… they start bitching.
There’s so many African American actors out there representing you— let Afro Latinos have someone. Let dark skin Latinos have someone.
Being Puerto Rican is a part of Miles’ identity and you will not take that away from him.

I don’t like the way white women talk about malala. I keep seeing their takes on how jimmy kimmel asked her questions during the oscars and I saw someone say it was trivializing her contribution to the world.. like listen we All know jimmy kimmel is a clown that shouldn’t be given a mic but I promise that malala doesn’t need y’all to defend her especially in such a patronizing way

Regarding jacket potatoes: I think it is perhaps because they are still wearing their little jackets, or skins. As opposed to some other situations where they would be peeled. This seems like what the US calls a baked potato, except we have slightly different toppings: cheese, sour cream, chives, bacon bits. Lots of butter, of course.
Oh!! That is an excellent theory and makes total sense to me, thank you for weighing in!!
