Nathan And Elizabeth Vs Jack and Elizabeth

I've noticed a Lot of People saying Not another Mountie, Or that they don't want anyone Replacing Jack, or that Elizabeth Is just Jack projecting again on Nathan. I think there is some merit to that argument but a lot of the worry is Unfounded Lets look at some of the similarities and Differences and Why I think Nathan is a Good choice for Elizabeth and NOT a replacement.

Similarities.

Nathan is a Mountie

Nathan Loves Elizabeth

Nathan makes Elizabeth think deeply

Nathan is friends with Bill

Nathan has a dog

Nathan is not good at speechmaking

Nathan uses intuition

Differences

1.Nathan is Quieter than Jack

2. Nathan Has a daughter figure.

3. Nathan is a mountie by Job rather than Calling and would give it up for Elizabeth. His calling is more to be a family protector figure.

4. Nathan has only a few best friends, but loves and protects them intensely, wheras Jack was more generally friendly.

5. Nathan is a more awkwardly quiet dorky hero , Jack is more confident and bold hero

6. Nathan is more sensitive, Jack is more thick skinned.

7. Nathan is more small detail oriented, Jack is more big-picture.

8. Nathan is much less jealous than Jack he wants Elizabeth to be Happy even if its not with Him whereas Jack was more Annoyed/Angry at Elizabeth's other suitors such as Billy and Charles and Abigail had to tell him outright that he was Jealous and that the best way to Get Elizabeth Back would be to be nicer. "you catch more flies with Honey than Vinegar"!

When we first met Jack he was Bold confident and really annoyed at having to Look after Elizabeth. his relationship with Elizabeth was Hate-to-love dynamic and there was a lot of rough teasing banter and Jealousy.

With Nathan it is a Completely Different situation when he meets Elizabeth it is a shy but friendly meeting, and as we know from season 8 he had chosen by himself to come there to look after Elizabeth, The Exact Opposite of Jacks Situation. His whole goal was to protect her and leave it at that, Until he began slowly to make friends with her and find out what an amazing woman she was. then he didn't want to Love her becuase He felt Guilty about it, but slowly they overcame that and became really close Friends When she Chose Lucas he was the one to Go to Lucas WHY? Because he loved her so much he wanted her Happiness no matter what even Over his Own Happiness, Jack would never have done that for Elizabeth He Loved her a lot But not quite at the cost of his own Dreams, Goals and Happiness. Jack and Elizabeth had a healthy Balenced relationship where both could Express there own personalties and follow there callings, but I think Nathan Loves Elizabeth in a different and more Selfless way than Jack something which would be Amazing to see play out on screen, not to even get started on the mixed Family Dynamic! This difference Is why after saying Not another Mountie in season 6 I changed to Team Nathan in season 7

Just my opinion:

This is not Elizabeth seeing Jack in Nathan.

She is not projecting Jack onto Nathan. There is no Ghost Jack here.

She's not seeing just a Mountie uniform.

Elizabeth is finally seeing Nathan Grant!

I hate that the show is teasing Team Nathan with a 'Grant us a family' scene, or a possible Nathan/Elizabeth flip.

I'm strictly a Nathan fan, and I don't want to get my hopes up.

Easier said than done.

This scene is a very interesting scene, because while they are talking in the context of Ned and Florence's situation, Elizabeth is telling Nathan at a side angle about her own story of Grief and loss, the reason that at this point in the story she can't let herself reciprocate Nathan's feelings, but rather must fight to not let herself get too attached, but at the same time there is a deeper connection that overides her fight and makes her open up when Nathan is around, But in this scene here I don't think she expected Nathan's reply at all, becuase she knows he lost his sister so i think she expected him to think that was on the same level, but He looks at her sees that her pain is deeper than his and instead of the usual sympathetic yes i understand, i felt like that when my sister died, he says Not yet... becuase he is intelligent enough to know that her griving is important and shoulden't be minimised by comparison to other situations, grieving people don't want to hear that other people have had it worse or just the same, they want to feel validated that there pain is great. so Nathan did that and it shocks her out of her painful recollections which is just what she needed in the moment. A* for Nathan's intuition here

it is not a love triangle again ...

I just have to say that there is no more triangle ! Since Elizabeth broke the things of, a lot of Lucas fan says that the writers are going back and forth and keep doing the same thing and that bring back the love triangle it's dumb and annoying but and I personally see that clearly ... not a triangle anymore because she broke up with Lucas and it appears clearly to me that now she is going to be with Nathan !

so there are no longer three people (Elizabeth,nathan and Lucas ) but two (Nathan and Elizabeth). I hate to say it that way but Lucas is no longer in the game -even though it's not a game but you all know what I mean. the two guys are not competing for her love anymore.

voile just a thing I have to say , and just to be clear I like Lucas a lot and I am eager to see what is going to happen to him in season 11. And I also desperately want to see Nathan and Elizabeth story this season and how the writers are going to implement it.

Elizabeth + Nathan || "I don't think I was listening to my heart..."

I am READY for season 11 - that promo poster (internally screaming).

I was always a Nathan fan, don't get me wrong I didn't dislike Lucas but I saw Lucas as her old life; safety in the comfort of it from the beginning. Whereas Nathan was the unhappy ending with Jack/ unsafe path. I felt like Lucas could offer all these different possibilities (trips away to the city, literature etc) and comforts to Elizabeth which in the end would take her back to the world she left in season 1 and it was always going to be about if she wanted that for her future. So season 10 made sense to me (But I can understand why with season 9 giving no hint to this why Lucas fans feel let down in this writing - maybe it wasn't the initial plan - who knows)

It always interested me how when the triangle was happening Lucas did the grand gestures and "grand ideas" - love through gifts bought, making for beautiful scenes and visual "luxuries", spoiling Elizabeth as every woman should experience. However, Nathan could only offer his words and his actions, handmade gifts; in the end his honesty as a friend in wanting her to be happy.

I really can't wait to see how this relationship unfolds, this blended family dynamic will be great to see. I am curious to see if Allie will be happy or apprehensive as she was upset when Elizabeth chose Lucas so maybe she won't be so quick to soften.

This is just... I am so annoyed by this that I can't even find the right words to express them. I Cannot Believe what is happening on When Calls the Heart right now. I saw the signs, but was trying, really, Really, REALLY hard to ignore them. I really thought we were finally DONE with the love triangle between Elizabeth, Lucas and Nathan, but it seems there are some things they just can't let go. I swear if Elizabeth breaks up with Lucas and gets together with Nathan...

I Will Be BEYOND Pissed!!!!

THEY HAVE NO CHEMISTRY! STOP TRYING TO FORCE THEM TOGETHER! SHE ALREADY HAD HER GREAT MOUNTIE LOVE STORY WITH JACK! SHE DOESN'T NEED ANOTHER ONE, ESPECIALLY WITH THE GUY INDIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS DEATH!!!!!!

This just SUCKS! First it looks like we don't have to worry anymore cause it seems Nathan was moving on and had some potential romances with Mei or Faith while LucaBeth were growing stronger and got engaged, but nooo. It was to lead us fans into a false sense of security and pull this crap a year later.

Elizabeth can't seem to really let go or move from losing Jack.

Nathan has broken things off with Mei and Faith.

Elizabeth and Nathan are growing close again while she and Lucas seem to be moving in opposite directions.

Elizabeth is getting cold feet and can't fully open her heart.

I Swear if When Calls the Heart breaks up Elizabeth and Lucas and gets her together with Nathan after all this time...

Help finding a fic…

Okay y’all, I need help! I read a fic like 2 years ago that was Nathan and Elizabeth that I’d love to read again now that Nathan is apparently back in the game on the show. For the life of me though, I can’t find it. Here’s some of what I remember…

-N&E eventually get married in the woods on Nathan’s family’s land. There’s a cabin right near by where the spend the wedding night, I think the wedding happened in a gazebo, and there was something about Nathan’s sister and flowers falling from a tree that were involved too.

-Nathan’s mom plays a pretty big role in the story. I think Ally’s dad shows up at some point too, wanting to take Ally.

-N&E build a house on land a little bit outside of town and leave behind the row house. Not long after, Lee and Rosemary build a house next door. Lee and Rosemary end up having a kid, I think maybe through adoption but I can’t quite remember.

-Elizabeth is pregnant not long after the wedding. I think she eventually goes into labor while Nathan is away, but he gets back just in time.

-I know N&E (plus possibly Ally and Little Jack) go to Hamilton to see Elizabeth’s family at some point. Something about Elizabeth’s dad’s car is ringing a bell in my head.

I know it’s not a ton to go on, but does it ring any bells for anyone?
