The Social Organization: Ch 3-5
After reading chapters 3-5, I started to think more about some things. Like how much communitys have grown for businesses because of social media. The text states that they advise organizations to have an official vision statement. We see these all the time and how people can remember your organization. I remember certain organizations because of the things I see on social media. A lot of times when hashtags are overused for organizations, I remember those! I took from the text that “a vision statement serves for two reasons: 1. It articulates the belief of leadership in the importance and value of community based collaboration. 2. it concretely identifies significant opportunities for the firm where such collaboration can add value by helping the organization move closer to its goals.” You need to have an effective vision statement for your organizaition, something people will remember. It defines the organization. After reading the text, I was able to understand the importance of these statements and I also continued to browse the web for good vision statements from organizations!
