🌟 New
We now show audio information you add (like title, artist, album, and album cover) for uploaded audio on the blog network.
On web, links to the Mass Post Editor now open in a new tab.
On web, on the mobile layout of the site, tapping a blog’s info (avatar, name, or title) inside the Account menu in the navigation drawer will now go straight to that blog's management view.
Previously, it was possible that we could recommend different reblogs from a post you had dismissed. Now, based on your feedback, we will no longer recommend a post or any of its reblogs for a month after dismissal.
🛠 Fixed
On web, when using a touchscreen device, the toggle button for expanding a blog's stats in the Account menu is now much easier to tap, regardless of the site layout.
Folks on the latest version of the iOS and Android apps should no longer experience audio from ads autoplaying (even when no ad is visible). If you still do, please contact support!
🚧 Ongoing
We're aware that the Notes view on the iOS app can sometimes appear broken after re-launching the app. Fully closing the app might fix this. We should have a more permanent fix in the next update.
Staff are hard at work updating our docs. If you see anything confusing or out-of-date, please send some feedback!
🌱 Upcoming
We're rolling out the ability to have more than one type of badge visible next to your blog. This option will be available soon!
Experiencing an issue? File a Support Request and we'll get back to you as soon as we can!

jobs masterlist.
because there can never really be enough masterlists regarding jobs for muses as far as i’m concerned. jobs on here will be separated by university / town / city / cruise / entertainment, as those tend to be the main roleplay settings i see. i’m gonna try to keep these more unique as opposed to popular ones like professor, barista and bartender - just because i feel like having unique jobs would be more useful. if you found this at all helpful, please reblog / like.

H-hello it's me again one of your big fans! And I was wondering how do you do that and how I could maybe start to do the voice acting like you!?
Hokie doke haha! I get similar questions like this alot! <3 so here is my answer, at the moment this is all the software I use on my mobile device and computer in order to make my video impressions!! (it's nothing too fancy, honestly!)
Tumblr media
Tiktok has a wonderful supply of filters that I like to play around with, and is often a go to for voice filters for me! Sometimes they sound perfect as is, sometimes I play either their pitches and timbre, sometimes I layer filters ontop of each other! Actually, the whole reason I really got into this is because there's a tiktok filter that sounds like wally's voice! I decided "fuck it!" basically, and started doing impressions with that filter, and editing them in caput! And.. Yeah that's basically where it all started!-
Not much to say, caput has some pretty good filters! Occasionally an audio editor will let me tweak and play with the audios there as well! (Also I forgot to add this in, but i use a "voice changer" app/software as well!)
Hope this answers yalls questions!! <3 have fun creating if yall end up doing something like I'm doing!! <3

An Honest Guide to Tumblr for Twitter Refugees (Part 2)
Part 0: What the heck is Tumblr and is it right for me?
Part 1: Configuring settings + customizing your Tumblr
Covered in Part 2:
Posting basics (introducing the editor, different post types)
Best practices (stating trigger warnings, adding image IDs, indicating sources, etc)
Post controls (who can reblog and reply to your posts)
Note: Like Part 1, I suggest you follow this guide while on desktop Tumblr. This post also contains lots of images without ID. Such images though are basically just screenshots of what's already described in the post body.
Posting Basics
I was gonna talk about curating your dashboard first, but considering how Tumblr veterans would think you’re a bot and just block you if they see your blog is empty, I think it’s best if we cover posting first.
Tumblr Editor
Before everything else, let’s get to know the editor.
On your desktop dashboard, you get to pick from different post types: Text, Photo, Quote, Link, Chat, Audio, and Video.
Tumblr media
It should be pretty self-explanatory what they do, but you know what? THESE DON’T MATTER.
I talked about this briefly in Part 1, so lemme just copy-paste it here:
Although Tumblr is still advocating its different posts types (text, image, audio, video, etc.), they’ve actually been rolling out changes to their editor where only a single post type is used (text) and you just add media to it. This is called NPF (Neue Post Format). On desktop, you can turn off the beta editor and thereby turn off NPF. However, on mobile web and on the app, posts can only be made in NPF.
To put it simply: There is no difference at all between the different post types. The only difference is that when you click on a post type (for example, photo), the first block* on your post will be related to that post type (e.g. a photo block).
* If you’ve used WordPress before, then this should be familiar. But if not, then here’s a quick explanation: A block is basically a component used to create a post (text block for text, image block for images, video block for videos, etc.)
More technical info about the block editor and how to use it can be found here.
So my point is, don’t sweat too much over the different post types.
---
You can also write posts in HTML / Markdown!
If the default rich text editor is not enough for you, then get more power by using the HTML editor. It doesn't support all HTML elements, but at least you can do fancy stuff like adding some gradient text:
gradients are cool
To switch editors, click on the gear icon at the top of the editor, and in the Text Editor dropdown, choose between Rich Text, HTML, or Markdown. If you’re curious about Markdown, learn more about it here.
---
Some neat stuff you have to know about posting on Tumblr:
A. YOU CAN EDIT POSTS!!!
We’ve had an edit button here for years, and best of all, it’s free! However, for posts of yours that have been reblogged, even if you do edit the original post, the edits won’t be reflected on the reblogged version. More about reblogging in Part 4 of this guide.
B. You can post loooong articles here
Like Twitter, Tumblr also has a character limit for text. However, this limit is on a per-paragraph basis and not for your entire post. And it’s such a generous limit that I’ve never once hit it. I don’t even have to keep tabs on how many characters I’ve made. You can find a list of all the limits you have to keep in mind when using the NPF/beta editor at the bottom of this article.
C. You can save drafts and schedule posts
If you can’t finish that post right now, no worries. Just save it to your drafts first and finish it later. Or, if you’ve prepared a cool post for New Year even though it’s still November, just schedule that post to publish on a New Year. More about queue/scheduling in Part 4 of this guide.
---
Best Practices
I don’t think I need to do a step-by-step on how to use the editor because it’s pretty intuitive, so let’s talk about best practices when it comes to posting.
On stating trigger/content Warnings
In Twitter, you do this:
// tw: r*pe, g*re, m*utilation . . . . [actual triggering content]
Please don’t do this.
First of all, here on Tumblr, we do not censor out those “problematic” words. You have to spell them out so that people who have such words filtered in their settings will actually not see them. Getting content filters to work will be a pain if people have to keep in mind all variations of rape (r*ape, r@pe, r4pe, etc).
Second, those multiple dots don’t do anything. Instead, utilize the “Read More” block. This block will hide everything that comes after it under a “Keep Reading” link.
On desktop, you click on this icon that has a zigzag sandwiched between two horizontal lines:
Tumblr media
On mobile, you do it by typing :readmore: and then hitting Enter.
(I’ll talk more about triggers/content warnings in Part 3, which will cover Tags)
Just spell everything out actually, not just trigger words
Instead of oomfs or moots, say mutals. Instead of unalive, say murder. No need to shorten or tone anything down here.
Add image ID’s
Image ID’s are basically descriptions of an image. This is important for people using screen readers. I’m guilty for not always following this, but just trust me on this.
On desktop, you hover over the image, click on the three dots that appear, and then click “Update image description.” Keep the description in simple words and state exactly what the image contains. I’m doing it for this particular image below:
Tumblr media
On dashboard and on some themes, the image ID will be shown when you click on the ALT button that appears when you hover over the image.
Sometimes, when OP forgets to put an ID, someone will reblog the post and add the ID themselves. If you see someone doing this on one of your posts, then please be an angel and add that ID to the original post. Image descriptions will be more useful/have more impact if they’re actually part of the original post.
---
Link back to source
If you’re sharing someone else’s content from another site, please indicate the source. You can do this by adding a link to the source from within the post body itself, or by using Tumblr’s content source feature in the editor:
Tumblr media
Click on the little gear above the editor, and in the “Content source” field, paste your link.
---
Do not repost other people’s gifs/edits
Sometimes you see a cool gif here on Tumblr that you want to use on your own post. People are generally fine with that, but you have to do it the right way.
DO NOT DO THIS: Downloading the gif and then uploading it to your own post.
Instead, DO THIS: Use Tumblr’s GIF block and search for a gif from there. Doing it this way would link back to the OP and even notify them in their Activity.
Here’s an example of how it looks:
Tumblr media
The gif above is from my side blog, and below the image, it says “GIF by fyeahbachisagi.”
Post Controls
If you don’t want a certain post of yours to get around too much, you can disable reblogs on it. Click the gear icon at the top of the editor, and in the “Who can Reblog?” dropdown, choose from Anyone or No One.
Tumblr media
Limits on Replies, however, is on a per-blog setting and not per post. Go to tumblr.com/settings/blog/username, and scroll all the way down until you see the setting for Replies.
Tumblr media
---
Okay, that’s all for Part 2! Next up, in Part 3, I will talk about utilizing tags
Update: Part 3 is up! Well, kinda... Not exactly a guide catered to Twitter refugees, but still a guide to tagging:
A Guide to Tagging on Tumblr: Types of Tags

Hi!
Do you have any advice for someone looking to get into video editing or just try and figure it out? It’s always seemed kinda fun to me, and I want to know if there’s any beginners resources you have :3
Heya!
In terms of beginner's software, I'm not sure what's out there now. I got my start on Windows Movie Maker, which is now, unfortunately, discontinued, with a much shittier version available to Windows users.
I do know there are a lot of free apps on Mobile, and a quick YouTube or engine search (Google or Firefox) for free software should get you some options.
From there, clear editing advice is all gonna come down to which software you choose to go with, but I do have a few pointers that apply to most, if not all editing to get you started!
1) Audio levels, if you can view them, should stay in the green and yellow zones. Not all software has this option, but some will show you how loud a particular bit of audio is at any given time, represented with several green rectangles, one or two yellow, and a red. If the audio is in the red, that means it's "peaking" and will be too loud.
The reason you wanna look at the visual rather than listen by ear is so that it sounds the same on any device. If you set it depending on how loud you laptop/phone is, then it might be too loud or too soft when you export the final video.
2) If you can, use multiple tracks to edit! Tracks are the lines you drag and drop videos/pictures and audio in. Unless the software only supports one track for each (or even a combined track for both), you can stack clips on top of each other to make timing cuts easier, help with synchronizing with audio, and so much more.
3) If you have the audio and the visuals separated onto two tracks, see if you can't find some kind of tell to make sure they are synced. In films, this is what the clapper is for, the clapper being the board with the striped design on top that they let fall, which makes that loud SMACK! sound before the action starts. It's to help with editing! 🎬
You don't necessarily need a clapper, as something like a snap of the fingers, clap, hit, ect, ANYTHING that makes a loud, definitive noise will suit this purpose. As long as the noise lines up with the frame where contact is made, it'll be synced.
4) Have all your shots laid out in front of you. This is for films moreso than YouTube videos, but if you need to cut between multiple shots, knowing what each of them are beforehand (and which takes you're keeping) is essential to making editing go a lot smoother. I've seen editors who will print out each scene and each shot WITHIN that scene, paste that on their wall, and reference that while editing. That was back in the '70s though, so you may not need to go THAT far, but it never hurts either.
5) If you can, have someone taking notes as you film. This is especially useful for filmmaking. For each shot, have someone sit with the director and write down how each take went-what lines got fumbled, when cut was called early, when takes are good, ECT. This helps GREATLY in editing and will make life SO much easier.
6) Just edit, edit, edit. Doing lots of projects is the one sure-fire way to get good at it. Any software will work to start, but once you know you wanna take it up a notch, already having prior experience will help you get settled in with all the new, flashy features a lot easier.
7) DONT USE ADOBE PRODUCTS. I DONT CARE IF THEYRE "INDUSTRY STANDARD," THEYRE EXPENSIVE AND BAD AND NOT WORTH IT. I personally use Filmora 9, but I've also used Sony Vegas, which is also good. There are other options, don't be fooled.
It's 3:30 AM so I'm sure there's more I could say but my brain is an egg at the moment, lol. But if you have any specific questions, feel free to DM me or comment or something. I love talking about this stuff, as filmmaking is one of my passions.
Good luck to you, and happy editing!

im seeing a lot of hate for the tumblr desktop changes and how no one is reblogging anymore (and liking posts instead) and im 100% on board with that but we should also note that we, as tumblr users and editors, encourage staff to focus more on tumblr mobile by doing things like creating big gifs with large captions - these are suitable for mobile usage and we all know it!!! literally there is a cut off on tumblr desktop for large posts but not on mobile. large gifs and photos are literally more so suitable for tumblr mobile. and i also think reusing trends from other apps like just for example i saw a gifset with literal tiktok audios written on them???
besties we used to be known for graphics! 268px gifsets! picspams! and so much more! we must go back to our roots!

what's legacy photo posting :0
Ok blehhh . So for a while now the way posts were made on mobile tumblr and the way they were made on desktop tumblr was different. Desktop posts were made to format well on desktop BUT they would still look good if you were viewing them on the mobile app. A while ago, Tumblr rolled out a function that would allow you to swap between the way posting on desktop has always been (legacy, formatted for desktop) and a new beta version of posting that was just the way posts are made on mobile with no regard for desktop formatting.
Photo posts that were made using the legacy photo post format were still viewable and looked nice on mobile. But the beta photo posts are ugly on desktop, and they break a lot. The formatting for the beta photo posts is not good formatting for desktops basically. But Tumblr staff for some reason decided to just removed the legacy post editor for every post format besides text posts, meaning that when you are using Desktop Tumblr you can no longer make photo posts or audio posts formatted for Desktop Tumblr and instead have to use ugly formatting.

Fixed an issue that caused a message about unsupported browsers to appear in some (supported) versions of Safari.
Opening up a new post while viewing one of your secondary blogs now defaults to the blog you’re viewing.
When viewing a post permalink in blog view on web, that post will now display in a single column layout even if you have enabled the grid layout (it was previously loading in a mostly empty grid layout).
You can now drag to move/rearrange audio blocks in the new post editor on web.
Pasting image URLs into the new post editor on web now consistently converts the link to an image block instead of a link block.

Why Choose Flutter For Game Development?
Tumblr media
In this age of application development, Flutter is simultaneously advanced and popular. For developers, the Flutter framework is still the best option, no matter the type of app or game they are developing. Businesses are using Flutter to track game development. Three features that set Flutter apart from other game development frameworks are its native environment, fast growth, and single codebase structure.
Selecting a framework  Flutter for game development will precisely match the client's requirements and preferences. It will develop a multi-platform framework, such as Flutter, which involves a greater risk of slow performance or big app sizes than choosing a native platform, which can cost more time and money. Flutter is the only framework available to build games without experiencing such bloating.
At the end of this blog, you can quickly build games with Flutter. Flutter is, without a doubt, the most powerful cross-platform mobile app development tool for creating games. Due to its many advantages over other platforms, it facilitates a more straightforward and more seamless approach overall. Flutter programming language makes use of the Dart which is simple and easy for the beginners even if they possess a basic understanding of a language.
Flutter Packages for Game Development

1. Flame: Flame is a simple-to-use Flutter game engine that makes the Flutter game development process ease. It has several features, such as physics, animations, and sprites that makes your Flutter project smooth and flexible.
2. Box2D for Dart: This is the most popular Dart Port for the 2D physics engine Box2D. It can be utilized with the Flutter framework to deliver realistic physics and real effects in games.

5. Flame Audio: With the help of this package, you can also include sound effects and background music that is provided by the Flame game engine in your games.
Evaluating widely used game development tools and libraries
There are several really-liked frameworks and tools for Flutter game development that are worth investigating:
1. Unity: You can export games to Flutter using Unity, a popular game development tool. Developers may speedily implement high-quality 2D and 3D games into Flutter apps with the assistance of the Unity library.
2. Cocos2d-x: It is a most popular open-source game framework that gives a chance to build 2D and 3D games in the Flutter. It has an extensive feature set and may be combined with Flutter to create fascinating games.
3. OpenAL: You may use OpenAL, a cross-platform 3D audio API, to give Flutter games realistic audio effects.
4. Flutter Game Engine: Developers prefer to create their game engines from scratch by appropriately utilizing custom Flutter widgets and built-in features. Thus, this method provides excellent flexibility and control over the game development.
These are only a few of the game development tools and libraries that may be used with Flutter to create engaging and attractive gaming experiences for its players. If you want the best results, the programmers will use various combinations of packages, libraries, and tools based on a project's particular requirements.
Why Choose Flutter for Game App Development?
Flutter is an most well-known option for creating game applications due to these significant benefits:
1. Cross-Platform Development: Flutter helps programmers to write code only once and run it on various platforms, such as desktop, web, iOS, and Android that reduces the development time. This can significantly minimize the time and effort required for game development and allow concurrent development of games for multiple platforms.

5. Hot Reload: A most important tool for game development is Flutter's hot reload functionality. This functionality allows programmers to instantly view the effect of code modifications, which helps them streamline the iteration and testing process.
6. Integrating Flutter with Game Engines: Flutter Developers can use Flutter's cross-platform features by incorporating it with the most famous game engines such as Unity and Unreal Engine.
