I started watching Vida for Roberta Colindrez but it's actually such a good show!!! I just finished it so ofc I have to share my thoughts on here (with exactly no one lol)
Emma MY LOVE. Like yeah she's mean but she has to be bc nobody else has their shit together....perfect kinda broken older sister taking care of everything character I love her and she deserves nothing but the best
When her dad says "You're your mother's daughter" and Emma's like you bet I am....that's perfect right there!! Vida kept so many secrets etc but she just wanted to protect her daughters my god
And NICO!!! The way Nico just accepts and gets Emma and is so calm when Emma is, well, not...soulmate shit 😭😭😭😭
And when Emma tries to shut her out in season 2 and she's like I LIKE YOU AND YOU LIKE ME TOO.....I went insane ngl (I also went insane when she washed her hands in ✨that✨ bathroom scene but well)
Oh and also I love Roberta Colindrez so much everything her characters do is valid to me. When Nico's ex was like we're still married I was like....and what about it?! lmao
Also Lyn is kinda annoying in the beginning but she tries and the scene where they celebrate Emma's birthday after she fixed the fire marshall thing? So cute it made me tear up
But then ALSO when Emma has this breakdown at the end of season 2 and Lyn's all up in her face about getting it together...Emma's kept everything going for WEEKS while Lyn spent money she didn't have and hooked up with her ex??
But then ALSO ALSO when Emma jumps Yoli bc she threw soap at Lyn and helps her wash it off and tells her she's done good and Lyn starts crying that's poetic cinema right there
And ALSO ALSO ALSO when Lyn's like "Don't give up on me" in the last episode and Emma doesn't say any big words bc that's not who she is but she quietly accepts Lyn back into her life?? that made me CRY
I love complex sibling stories and I love Vida it needs so much more recognition and like 5 more seasons 😢💔

[image description: six gifs from season 2, episode 8 of Vida. Emma and Nico visit the "Clit Pit". They play around, having fun and pretending to wrestle until Emma is on top of Nico. In the final gif, their eyes meet and Emma's eyes flicker down to Nico's lips.

Disclosure – I paid for the Amazon Prime service that viewed this series.
