help me, you tear down my reason

This is my ransom note to Neil Gaiman love letter to the ineffable idiots and the Gomens fandom. There will undoubtedly be more because I caught the brain rot so bad.
More info and high res below the jump.

Scaly semi-snek flaming-like-anything-ginger freckled Crowley because why not? I wanted to mess around with a very pale, slightly creepy color palette for skintones, so this was a good exercise. And anyway, I could draw DT's glorious swan-like neck every day for the rest of my life and never grow weary of it.
Tumblr media
Michael Sheen's nose --hell, his profile in general--will be my undoing. He is SUCH a challenge to draw, which I adore. I used quite literally 4x the references for 'Zira than for Anthony Janthony.

About: All digital, all Photoshop, baby. Orig. 4483 x 5391 px. ~2 weeks of off-and-on painting when I got tired of my work art. Title is taken from Closer by Nine Inch Nails because I pretty much exclusively listened to The Downward Spiral on repeat while I worked on this piece, because that's the kind of angsty teenage headspace I'm in??? I'm fucking 34 years old, I thought I was past this.

Willpower Butch and the Son of God
By the Reverend Willpower Butch
We found ourselves in a dour, tangled wood, having strode excellently to the north of the ruins of London. We were safeguarding ourselves from the Homosexual by burning his nail polish and thrusting our pelvises as we walked – I, by virtue of my untrammeled virility, and Timpani Gayparade because I was repeatedly kicking his ass – for this display of breedful lumber-hauling intimidates even the most unhyperbolic Gay into hours of aesthetic crying. My un-non-sodomized companion, Paragon Shag, halted us before a gully, grimacing as he did at its detestable and wet resemblance.
“Quite Anti-Rimbauded Stoics,” spake he into the gap in the David’s pants, “were you capable of womanly regard for your environment, I should caution you now to take protective hold of your erections. For I scent among the pungent mosses a grievous concoction of defensive sarcasm, elderflower, and fear of guns.”
“No!” shouted Top-a-mée Christopherhitchens tremulously at Shag’s injunction. “That odor could only announce one thing: an Anglophilia of Transgendereds!”
No sooner had the flaccid, strawberry-incensed brat danced this were we come upon by these self-same Transgendereds. They were crudely crayoning beards and boobs onto the yearbook photos of children while singing the “Internationale” in Esperanto. And they were, without exception, slathered in a gloopy, glittery sludge.
“Alas, they have fornicated with Boy George,” Shag supposed.
“Nay,” I overruled him, speaking the truth because I am a Man, “they are the undead. See how they rise from the ground like a Gay asshole thrashing up toward Papalism. See how they have returned from Tim Curry’s House to torment their enemies.”
For, in the center of that discoing mass, there stood the trifecta of swallowing come at somebody else’s orgy and then complaining about the taste: Graham “transplanted his ass onto his face” Linehan, Germaine “spectacularly missed the point of her own life’s work” Greer, and JK “spent the nineties roleplaying a little boy and is desperately trying to deflect” Rowling.
The trifecta hailed our entourage, noting that we were not party to the Transgenders’ Dostoevskian lower bureaucrat fetish. “Help us!” they cried.
Tumblr media
Marzipan Dostoevsky, friend of Vladimir Purina and King Gay of Sierra del Fuego. His infamous bent nose is the result of giving too much head.
Forthwith, we left them and continued on our way, crossing the border into Scotland.
As we plowed further into the wilds, we encountered a strange portal carved into the rockface of a proud spire. Drawing closer, Michael Sheen exclaimed, “This is it! The secret cavern where Franc’n’o has kidnapped God. But how may we come inside?”
There was, indeed, no discernible way through, for the doorway was a mere carving on stone. Near the top, there was a message scrawled in Scotlandenisishlatin.
The David stepped forward, the arches of his hips and back as sturdy and graceful as a yew, and his mouth as red-pink, as inviting, as absolutely forbidden as yew berries, gyrating as he read the words to himself.
“Read homo in the face of Man, and enter,” he translated for us. Turning toward me, his expression was puzzled. “Homo in the face of Man?”
“Shag,” I said frowningly, “what do you make of this?”
“Perhaps it’s a riddle. Omo represents the eyes, the ridges of the brow, and the nose in the face of Man, for facial hair is too powerful to render in this Nancy language,” Shag considered. “What we do not know is the symbolism of the ‘h.’ What could that be?”
“A cowlick?” suggested Gayparade.
“One ear?” ventured Michael Sheen.
“The tongue, sticking out?” lilted the David.
“The tongue, sticking out,” I murmured, repeating him. “Why else would Franc’n’o construct such an opening? He means for us to enact something that no Man would ever do, for the genital of the Gay is magnetized to the tongue of the Straight Man.”
My companions were much astonished at this, but also greatly impressed that I had retained so many facts about the Gay from only one drunken viewing of their episode on the Discovery Channel.
Looking between them, I could perceive the fear in their rapid flacciding. “Nay!” I shouted, mustering all my strength, “MEN!” And thus, I kicked through the doorway, sending out a shockwave that turned every blushing, pristine flower for miles into beer-soaked charcoal, scented with entitlement. And we were through.
Treading into the dark, it was several minutes before we came upon a peculiar thing. At the end of the hall was a garish, stadium-lit roller-skating rink, but unlike any we may see in the world above, for this rink was tiled with a material smoother than any quality of marble or varnished wood: twinks. Our metal-toed boots clanged as we approached, and upon this clamor, the twinks rolled around, alarmed, and like cats puffing their tails, they sprang their stiffnesses at us.
“Gentlewomen!” exclaimed the vile Franc’n’o from his throne of unsexiness. “You think that I’m greeting you to your faces, but in fact, I’m admiring your thighs!”
Tumblr media
It was in this moment I knew that Franc’n’o had succeeded in becoming a Gay at last. And I mourned, my lords. I mourned the children unborn because Ben Whishaw and his cohort have made western Europe into a writhing accumulation of sexually ambiguous style magazine cover-shoots. I mourned that the poppy fields of yesteryear are become the pansy fields of today. And most of all, I sprayed three-in-one shampoo/conditioner/bodywash into Franc’n’o’s eyes, for this confuses the radar of the Homosexual.
Notwithstanding this, Franc’n’o pounced. And, like a quietly imposing youth who always sits alone at the bar and vanquishes toxic masculinity by making engaged straight men curious about bottoming, his fierce countenance froze me to the spot. But just when all hope seemed lost, there emerged a shot a pearly white from behind him, disintegrating the villain into innumerable molecules of coming-of-age movie nosebleeds.
At first, I could not make out the source of this blast through the shimmering dust of a thousand twinks vanishing back into the realm of the fae. But as they dissipated in the air, I saw him directly. He was a titan of a Man, impossibly contoured, possessing flawless bronze skin and a statuesque comportment. He had hair that no beauty appliance had homosexed, and yet it was both as firm and as silken as victory garlands. He beckoned Shag and me to him, and when he spoke in his engorging baritone, it was a language otherworldly and supreme, far too masculine to pass the lips of any mortal man.
Gesturing to me, he boomed, “У него толко серп, но у меня большой молот.” And then, he turned toward a large set of doors, and we could only infer that he meant for us to follow. We passed into another long, dark hallway, which culminated in a yet larger portal which emitted an indescribable glow. “Зови меня капитаном подлодки, потому что я углубляюсь,” he spoke again and urged us inside.
We were blinded altogether, so bright was that interior. Droplets rose to Shag’s eyes and to my hardness. A voice still deeper, still richer, still more impossible accosted us. “Do not fear, my good Men,” it said. “This is my Son, whom mortals have met before. He returns to you rebranded as his true form, and his name is Panzer Dzheesaskrist.”
Dimly, I made out the irresistible figure who had addressed us. At once, all was clear. Such a vision met me, my indomitable brothers with extreme personal space, that I shall remember and love forever: it was God, the Manliest Man of all.

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day/night going? Great I hope. I woke up early today but I didn’t start my makeup until around maybe 10:30 AM. I was just enjoying the morning peace. I was feeling much better today but I over did it during meal prep for supper and now I have some discomfort in my lower back and hips. Thank goodness I can just relax tonight and setting in with Disney+ and watch the new Star Wars movie … what else do you watch on May the 4th Be With You Day????
Today I am wearing Michael Kors Sexy Blossom… and now … let’s get into today’s Face of the Day …..
Base:                                                                                                                                                         I first primed my problematic pore areas with Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta) and then primed the full face using NYX Angel Veil Primer ($16 at Ulta). I also prepped my face using Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44 at Sephora and the Beautylish website). My foundation today is No. 7 Protect & Perfect Advanced All in One Foundation ($15.99 for 1 fluid ounce on their website, Target, Walgreens, Amazon, and the Boots website) in the shade Calico.  I contoured using Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand ($38 at Sephora) in the shade Medium/Dark. I highlighted the tops of my cheek bones, bridge of the nose, center of the chin, and high points of my forehead using Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand ($38 on the Beautylish website). I concealed my under eyes using 5 dots of Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer ($22 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade No. 3. I set my under eyes using Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes ($28 at Ulta) in the shade 1 and then set the rest of my face using the  Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder ($33 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I then warmed up the perimeter of my face using MAC Bronzing Powder ($30 at MAC) in the shade Matte Bronze. I am using Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder ($4 at Walmart) in the shade 011 creamy natural as my touch up powder today.
Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I set my brows using Believe Beauty Eyebrow Styling Gel ($4 at Dollar General) in clear and then filled in my brows using  Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade 4.5 and then I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5 and I also used a little of this to cut my brow line. For today’s eye look I used the ColourPop Bare Necessities 30 Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($34 on the ColourPop website). I started with the shade Banter (cool toned stone matte) all through the crease. Then on my mobile lid I used the shade The Talk (champagne peachy gold metallic) and took it over the first 2/3 of the lid. I then used the shade Designer Duds (rose gold pink metallic) over the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid. I then went in with a combination of the shades Tabloid (deep caramel matte) and Act A Fool (dusty mid tone mauve matte) and buffed it into the outer 1/3 of the mobile lid and the outer v of the crease. On the brow line I used Full Exposé (creamy vanilla matte). For the lower lash line I did a drop shadow using more of the combo of Tabloid and Act A Fool and then I highlighted my inner corners using the shade Idol Hour (warm ivory with a pale peach sheen metallic). I tapped whatever was left on the brush that I used the shade The Talk over the crease shade to add a little shimmer (something I’ve been enjoying as of late.) I coated my upper and lower lashes with 1 coat of Milani Dangerous Lengths Mascara ($9.99 at Ulta). I lined my upper and lower waterlines using Charlotte Tilbury The Classic Eye Powder Pencil ($22 at Sephora) in the shade Audrey (classic brown).
Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                               For my blush I did the same thing as yesterday….. I applied my blush with the rest of my cream products since I was using a Super Shock Cheek blush…. and then set it when I set the rest of my face and I think it gave me a pretty flushed look. I used ColourPop Super Shock Cheek ($8 on their website) in the shade Quarters (a mid-toned peachy coral satin). I lined and filled in my lips using NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner ($4 at Ulta) in the shade Wipped Caviar (a reddish pink nude) and then topped that off with L’Oreal Rouge Signature Lightweight Matte Lip Stain ($5.99 at Ulta) in the shade 448 I-Tease (a soft taupey pink matte) and felt that this was too muted so I tapped a few dots of Makeup Geek Creme Stain ($11.99 on their website) in the shade Jitterbug (an intense coral matte) and then I felt that this was too dry looking so I topped the whole lip off using NARS Lip Gloss ($24 on the NARS website) in the shade Stripe Tease  (Sheer champagne nude).
Final Thoughts:
I’ve just been loving the way my complexion products have interacted these past few days. I never thought I would love using cream products as much as I have. Because of that I jumped on the Tarte website today and ordered their new Breezy Cream Bronzer $29 in the shade Grace Bay and one of their Sugar Rush Beach Cheek Cream Blushes $15 in the shade Beaches and Cream. I can’t wait to try them.
I did my contour a tad different today. I did all my cream contouring first and then applied my foundation… I found that this seamed to produce a more natural contour… it melted into the foundation beautifully.
Something I forgot to mention in my haul and review  today of the new No. 7 Protect & Perfect Advanced All in One Foundation, there is no flash back when taking pictures with the flash on. It’s rare that I find foundation with SPF that doesn’t kickback during flash pictures.
Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night and that you are found in good spirits and in good health. Remember … Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
XOXO
Simple Neutral Eye Day Look Face of the Day Hey doll hey!!! How's your day/night going? Great I hope. I woke up early today but I didn't start my makeup until around maybe 10:30 AM.

Met Gala 2018
Salma Hayek
Makeup by Matthew Van Leeuwen using Charlotte Tilbury products
COMPLEXION: -Salma’s skin was prepped with Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream applied to her face and neck. -Salma wore Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation in shades 6 and 7 blended with Hollywood Flawless Filter in shade 5. -The Retoucher concealer in shade 3 was applied around the eyes and nose where needed, to mask any minor imperfections. -Charlotte’s Hollywood Contour Wand in Medium/Dark was paired with Filmstar Bronze & Glow in Medium/Dark to contour and add definition to the cheeks, temples, jawline and nose. -To add an ultra-flattering pop of colour, Pretty Youth Glow Filter in Pretty Fresh was applied using Cheek Hug Brush for targeted, sculpting application.
EYES: -To create Salma’s smoldering eye look, Charlotte’s Bigger Brighter Eyes palette in Transform-Eyes was applied. -The soft champagne gold PRIME shade was applied to the eyelid to help prime the eyelids making them look wider, fresher and elongated. A pop was added to the inner corners of the eyes too, to give the appearance of wider, brighter eyes. -The ENLARGE shade, an enhancing copper-gold was used to contour the outer socket. This light-reflecting shade lifts the look of the eye. -Next, the DEFINE shade was applied along Salma’s lash line to add definition, brighten and lift the look of the eye. 5.The look was finished with the deep brick red POP shade. This shade colour-contrasts with most eye coluors, adding vividness to the iris like a filter does. -To add subtle definition to Salma’s brows and structure to her face, her brows were brushed up using Legendary Brows in Clear and softly filled using Brow Lift in Naomi. -Rock ‘N’ Kohl eyeliner pencil in Elizabeth Violet was drawn along the water line while Rock ‘N’ Kohl eyeliner pencil in Barbarella Brown was used to create an elongated feline flick for a subtle cat eye effect. -Salma’s eye makeup look was finished using lashings of Charlotte’s Legendary Lashes Volume 2 on her top and bottom lashes.
LIPS: -Salma’s look was completed using Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Pink Venus. Salma’s lips were then filled using Charlotte’s Hot Lips lipstick in Hot Emily, a bright warm coral hue and finished with a coat of the Collagen Lip Bath for a plumper, wider-looking pout. -And finally, before Salma left for the red carpet, a light dusting of Charlotte’s Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder in shade 2 was applied to perfect the skin to prevent excess shine.

Met Gala 2018
Rihanna
Makeup by Priscilla Ono using Fenty Beauty products
How-to: To create the base for Rihanna’s full Fenty Beauty look, Priscilla started with Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer to prevent shine and pave the way for smooth makeup application. Priscilla applied Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in 370 for a soft matte flawless complexion. To define her face, Priscilla used Match Stix Matte Skinstick in Truffle, a few shades deeper than Rihanna’s complexion, to contour and define her face. For the lips, Priscilla applied Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in Spanked with extra shimmer on top for a subtle sheen. To finish the look, Priscilla applied Invisimatte Blotting Powder on the t-zone to absorb excess shine and diffuse pores for an instantly filtered appearance.
Hair by Yusef Williams
The inspiration: “John Galliano is the inspiration of all inspiration. For this look, I wanted to go back in time and create this Vatican-homage, but with a single finger wave to make it feel modern and more avant-garde.”
How-to: – Begin with wet hair and blow dry on high heat using the new Dyson Supersonic hair dryer professional edition. – Once dry, use the Phyto Specific Curl Legend Spray to hydrate before pulling the hair into a pony. – Then use the Phyto Professional Workable Holding Spray and Fiber Paste and continue drying hair. You don’t even need a flat iron because the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer professional edition is so good. – From here, create finger waves on either side of face, using the flat iron to create the flat waves. – Then, brush out using a fine tail comb, locking in the shape with the Phyto Professional Workable Holding Spray.
3/17
Met Gala 2018
Emily Ratajowski
Makeup by Joyce Bonelli for Marc Jacobs Beauty
How-to: To start, Bonelli created a smooth complexion by prepping the skin with the Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer to hydrate the skin in anticipation of foundation application. She then used the Shameless Youthful-Look 24-Hour Foundation in Y370 and Remedy Concealer Pen in Up All Night for a flawless, even and brightened complexion. She contoured the face using the O!Mega Bronze Coconut Perfect Tan in Tan-Tastic into the hollows of Emily’s cheeks.
For the eyes, Bonelli used the Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Fantascene 790 – a palette full of sensual nudes and shimmering pops – to create a warm, feminine yet sultry eye with a shimmering pop. She traced the shade “Meet Ya” – a warm copper with a metallic finish – in the inner corners of the eyes and on the bottom lashline to set a metallic tone to the look. To crease the eye and create some dimension, Bonelli used the shade “For More” – a reddish brown shade with a matte finish. On the center of the lid, Bonelli used the Eyeconic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Glambition 720 with the shade “Known For” – a rich, dark copper. And to finish the look and make the eyes really defined, she used multiple layers of the Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara to create thick, black lashes.
On the lips, Bonelli outlined them with the (P)outliner Longwear Lip Liner in (Nude)ist several times for a very defined look, followed by a mix of the New Nudes Sheer Lipstick in Dreamgirl and Le Marc Lip Crème in Sonic Truth for a warm nude lip. And to create a glossy finish, Bonelli swiped the Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer in Work It – an opaue light cocoa – to add an ethereal element to the metallic look.
The look was set with mists of the Re(cover) Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist and the Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter in Fantasy was applied all over her body for a full head-to-toe shimmer.
Hair by Jennifer Yepez using Kérastase Paris products
How-to:
INSPIRATION: “Emily’s look tonight is really on par with the MET theme. We wanted to create this golden and super glowy look from head to toe… sort of like a statue dripping in liquid gold.”
1. To start the look, Jennifer first towel-dried Emily’s hair. She then applied Mousse Bouffante all over the hair from roots to ends. The mousse helped to give Emily’s hair volume and hold.
2. Next, Jennifer applied Elixir Ultime Original Oil all over Emily’s hair to help give a wet look. She used liberal amounts of product on the mid lengths to ends and a lighter application towards the front of the hair, as she wanted to keep give the front pieces a little curl.
3. Jennifer then parted Emily’s hair in the middle and made three small braids on each side – two in the front and one by the nape of her neck. After braiding, she pulled each braid to make then a little thicker and more natural looking. For the pieces that fell in the front post-braid, Jennifer curled quickly to add some texture.
4. Next, Jennifer took diamond accents and pinned them between Emily’s braids. She then twisted the longer diamond pieces with Emily’s hair and pulled it back. Jennifer pinned the twist to create a natural, effortless bun look.
5. To finish, Jennifer applied Forme Fatale to the loose pieces of hair to create a wet hair look and to hold the pieces in place on her neck.

Met Gala 2018
Katy Perry
Makeup by Michael Anthony using CoverGirl products
“I wanted Katy’s skin to have a matte finish so we could control the highlights on the rest of her face. The new CoverGirl TruBlend Matte Made foundation was perfect for this because it would stay on all night but also be comfortable, while giving her that matte finish we were going for. It really gave the perfect smooth canvas to let her eyes and lips stand out and glow. She looked very heavenly and ethereal – perfect for tonight’s theme! I used the darker shades of the new CoverGirl Peach Punch palette on the hollow of her eyes and went straight across towards the end of her brow, and the effect was that her eyes looked very wide and open. I also used the champagne color on the center of her eyes to make them really pop.”

Met Gala 2018
Gigi Hadid
Makeup by Patrick Ta using Maybelline New York products
How-to: The inspiration behind Gigi’s look was based off the colour dimensions reflecting from her stained glass inspired gown. Making the eye feminine yet bold was definitely key—and the beautiful blue tones from Maybelline New York’s new Soda Pop Eyeshadow Palette were perfect for that!
FACE Begin by priming the skin with Maybelline New York Master Prime Hydrate + Smooth. Once the face is primed, apply Maybelline New York Fit Me! Dewy + Smooth foundation all over the face with a buffing brush. Then, apply Maybelline New York Fit Me! Concealer in light, under the eye and blend outwards to lighten up the area.
CONTOUR AND CHEEKS Contour the forehead and cheekbones with the dark side of the Maybelline New York Master Contour V Shape Duo in light, then set the contour with Maybelline New York Face Studio Master Contour Palette. Next, use Maybelline New York Fit Me! Blush in Nude on the apples of the cheeks for a beautiful flushed look. For a golden glow, highlight the inner corner, brow bone, nose and cheekbones using Maybelline New York Master Chrome Highlighter in Molten Gold. Lastly, set the entire face with multiple spritz of Maybelline New York Master Fix Setting Spray to ensure it lasts through the red carpet!
EYES Using the brand new Maybelline New York Soda Pop Eyeshadow Palette, apply the shade Grape Pop in the crease, then use the same brush and blend in the shade Blue Raspberry to add even more depth. Mix the shades Cherry on Top and Blue Raspberry on the lid to create a base and blend out into the crease. Next, take a clean brush and press Cherry Cola onto the lid for a pop of coloUr. Finally, use a pencil brush to apply Blue Raspberry on lower lash line and blend out any harsh edges. For the liner, mix Master Precise Ink Liquid Eyeliner in the shades Stellar Sand and Solar Gold and draw a tapering line below the lid, then finish it off with Maybelline New York Lasting Drama Light liner in White Luster in the waterline. Finally, apply everyone’s favorite, Maybelline New York Falsies Volum’Express Mascara on top lashes only.
LIPS Use Maybelline New York Color Sensational Shaping Lip Liner in Dusty Rose to fill in the entire lip for lasting color. Then, finalize the lip look by applying Maybelline New York Color Sensational Inti-Matte Nudesin Purely Nude over the center of the lips.
7/17
Met Gala 2018
Jourdan Dunn
Makeup by Renee Garnes using Maybelline New York products
How-to:
Drawing from the theme of “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” Jourdan’s look was dramatic yet soft. From afar, her appearance was striking but it’s in the close up details where you see the simplicity.
FACE AND CHEEKS Face + Cheeks: Renee started Jourdan’s skin with Maybelline New York Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation in a combination of shades 360, 330 and 312. She then applied the new Maybelline New York SuperStay Pro Tool (available summer 2018) in 25 to warmly highlight for extra glow on the high points on the face. She then used the Maybelline New York Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder to set the entire face and keep foundation intact. Following, she used a blend of Maybelline New York Facestudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Master Chrome, Molton Gold above the cupid’s bow, Molton Rose Gold and the Maybelline New York Master Holographic Prismatic Highlighter to create the ultimate layering effect for more definition. To complete the face, the Maybelline New York Facestudio Master Blush Color & Highlight Kit was applied, using shade NewNouveau for a subtle rose tint.
EYES To start the frame of the eyes, Renee used the new Maybelline New York Soda Pop Eyeshadow Palette (available September 2018) to create a delicate smoky eye. For liner, she used MUA cult-favorite Maybelline New York Eyestudio Master Precise Liquid Eye Liner to create that fine line on the lids. Her lashes were coated with plenty of Maybelline New York Total Temptation Washable Mascara in waterproof to ensure voluminous lashes all night long.
LIPS Renee used Maybelline New York Color Sensational Vivid Hot Lacquer Lip Gloss in Charmer for a high-shine finish to balance the rest of the look.

Met Gala 2018
Issa Rae
Makeup by Joanna Simkin using CoverGirl products
How-to:
“We wanted her skin to be ethereal for the theme but matte photos, so I used a big thick fluffy brush from the center of her face and worked my way out. I started from the middle to provide coverage and then blended it to the edges to create a subtle glow. For her eyes, I used a matte brown all over from the CoverGirl Chocoholic palette, then added shimmery all over, and finished by glossing the top to create dimension. This gave her a slick eye look, and gave the appearance that she emerged from heaven.”

Janelle Monae
Makeup by Jessica Smalls using Marc Jacobs Beauty products
How-to:
Inspiration: “Tonight’s Met Gala’s theme in ‘Heavenly Bodies,’ and I intend to make Janelle Monae’s makeup look absolutely DIVINE!” – Celebrity Makeup Artist Jessica Smalls.
Smalls started with Janelle’s eyes, using the Marc Jacobs Beauty Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Eye Primer in 32 Invisible to ensure Janelle had a “bullet-proof” lid that wouldn’t crease. She then applied the Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Scandalust, using the shade That’s Why in Janelle’s crease, Little Miss on her lid, and a dab of At the Office in the center of the lid to give a gold glitter pop. Jessica then layered on Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer in Work It 342 over the entire lid, creating a sultry bronze glitter-glossy eye. To add definition, Jessica used the Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in Blacquer on Janelle’s waterline, and finished her eyes with one coat of Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara in Noir on the top lashes and two coats of Marc Jacobs Beauty Feather Noir Ultra-Skinny Lash Discovering Mascara in Noir on the bottom lashes.
After moisturizing Janelle’s skin, Jessica gave her a divine glow by massaging a nickel-sized amount of the new, limited-edition Marc Jacobs Beauty Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter in Fantasy. Next, using the Marc Jacobs Beauty The Seamless Liquid Foundation Brush No. 4, she blended Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Youthful-Look 24-H Foundation SPF 25 in Y500 from Janelle’s nose and blended it outwards. To bring out Janelle’s striking bone structure, Jessica added a touch of Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Bronze Perfect Tan, then applied Marc Jacobs Beauty Air Blush Soft Glow Duo in Night Fever & Hot Stuff 508 to the apples of her cheeks. She then dabbed a bit of the leftover Marc Jacobs Beauty Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter in Fantasy on top for that divine glow.
For the final touch, Jessica filled in Janelle’s lips with (P)outliner Longwear Lip Pencil in Oh, Cocoa 310 before applying Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Crème Lipstick in Amazing 204, a candy apple red. She finished by dusting the new Marc Jacobs Beauty Finish Line Perfecting Coconut Setting Powder on top to create a matte lip.

Gisele Bundchen
Makeup by Hung Vanngo for Marc Jacobs Beauty
How-to: To prep the skin, Vanngo applied the Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Primer before creating a flawless complexion with the Shameless Youthful-Look 24-Hour Foundation SPF 25 in Y370 all over the face. For areas that needed extra coverage, Vanngo used the Re(marc)able Full Cover Concealer in Glow 4. To add radiance to the skin, Vanngo tapped the NEW! Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter in Fantasy on the top of the cheekbones to catch the light. And to add some dimension, Vanngo used a combination of the Air Blush Soft Glow Duo in Lines & Last Night and the O!Mega Bronze Perfect Tan in Tan-Tastic to create a warm wash of color. Lastly, he dusted the Finish Line Perfect Coconut Setting Powder all over the face to set the complexion.
To create the eye, Vanngo applied a wash of the gold shade from the Eye-Conic Multifinish Eyeshadow Palette in Edgitorial all over the lid, including up to the brow bone and under the lashes, with a subtle wash of the green shade along the lash line for an unexpected pop of color.
To elongate the eyes, Vanngo gradually built up the color and pulled the shadow in the outer corner of the eye. And to add intensity, he used the SNEAK PEEK! Highliner Glam Glitter Gel Eye Crayon in “Glitterbug” and “All That Glitters” along the upper lash line and soft smudged. To finish the eyes, he used a combination of the Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara on the top lashes with the Feather Noir Ultra-Skinny Mascara on the lower lashes for punctuation.
For the brows, he filled in the hairs with short strokes of Brow Wow Defining Longwear Pencil in Taupe and Ash Brown, and brushed them into place with the Brow Tamer Grooming Gel for a defined look.
On the lips, Vanngo outlined them with (P)outliner Longwear Lip Pencil in Oh! Cocoa and then applied a coat of Le Marc Lip Crème in Shakedown 288 – a warm peachy nude. And last but not least, Vanngo spritzed the Re(cover) Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist all over to make the makeup last all evening.
For the body, Vanngo swiped the Glow Stick Glistening Illuminator in Spotlight all over her arms and décolleté and legs for an all-over sexy sheen.
