Title: Vena, Not Venus Pairing: Rowena Macleod x Reader Summary: Y/n's magic lesson with Rowena goes a bit awry. Minors DNI, 18+ Warnings: smut, bottom Rowena, top reader, vaginal fingering NR WC: 1297

The air was thick with incense smoke as Y/n and Rowena sat across from each other. Aside from the candles lit around their bodies, the room was completely engulfed in darkness. Y/n kept her eyes closed as she muttered the words that Rowena had given her over and over again. Rowena held onto Y/n's hands to allow for their magic to flow through each other. The spell that Y/n was trying to learn was a simple one, the easiest of the old magic that Rowena could think to teach her pupil. Y/n had excelled in Rowena's lessons on the more modern kind of magic, but the had hit a wall when it came to learning the older stuff. There had been a less clear line of good and evil back then, and for something to have been marked as evil, it had to have been some serious stuff. Real life for life and blood for blood business.

"I would hate to interrupt your very obvious flow of things, but what exactly have you been saying all this time?" Rowena asked as she opened up one eye to check on her surroundings. The flames of the candles were supposed to be burning a deep, dark red, but instead they had a pinkish glow to them. Rowena had thought that she had misread Y/n speaking earlier, but as she looked around the room and assessed her own feelings, she knew that she had heard Y/n correctly.

"Venus-," Y/n started, only to immediately be cut off by Rowena.

"Vena, not Venus. You've been offering up your body to Venus, not opening your blood to let the magic through. This has turned into an entirely different kind of ritual my dear." Rowena tried to keep her voice even to avoid insiting panic in Y/n, but instead her words came out shaking in between ragged breaths.

"Wh-what kind of ritual have we been doing?" Y/n asked as she shifted onto her knees. Rowena watched as the robe Y/n was wearing dipped down to reveal the now flushed skin on her chest. Y/n was attractive, and Rowena had never been one to dismiss that fact or deny it, but she had done a good job of not reminding herself of it at inopportune times like this one. Ignoring what her body wanted wasn't a choice that Rowena knew she had. The spell was enhancing the feelings for Y/n that were already there, and if Rowena was being honest, it was startling how good Y/n was at this particular spell.

"Let's just say that if all else fails, you've got a monopoly on being a Priestess of Venus. I'm not sure how in demand they are, but I'll put out a good word for you," Rowena joked. The usual punch of it was gone though, and Y/n finally noticed the state that Rowena was in. Rowena could feel the entire energy of the room shift as Y/n's brain finally caught up with everything that was going on around them. The light pink of the candle flame began to darken as Y/n sat up straighter. Rowena felt herself cower and bow a little, something that she never would have done in anybody else's presence.

"What do we do to finish the ritual?" Y/n asked. Rowena could tell by the apprehensive way she asked the question that Y/n knew the answer. A part of Rowena wanted to tell her that it would be fine if they left without completing, the spell, but she honestly had no idea if that was true. She hadn't ever attempted a ritual of this sort before, but knew that one way or another, all rituals demanded their completion once they had begun.

"It's a bit, erm, awkward. I could take care of this myself technically, but it might go by faster if you do it," Rowena said. Y/n brushed off the offer, and moved forward slightly.

"Just tell me what you need me to do," Y/n told her. Rowena gently grabbed Y/n's chin as she pulled Y/n closer. Rowena had been alive long enough to try nearly everything once, but she could tell Y/n would be different. This wouldn't be like any of the other moments of intimacy that Rowena had shared with other witches, and not just because of the magical edge that Y/n brought. Rowena felt something for her, something that ran much deeper than she had even realized.

"I want you to touch me. Help me get through this," Rowena muttered just before she pressed her lips to Y/n's. Y/n tried but failed to match the same feverish energy that Rowena was bringing. A part of her felt ashamed, but Y/n knew that Rowena wouldn't blame her. Y/n could feel teh magical effects of the ritual, but it wasn't affecting her in the same way that it was Rowena. Still, Y/n swore that she could feel the small touches that she was giving to Rowena on her own body.

Y/n pressed on as she pulled Rowena onto her lap. Rowena ground her hips against Y/n's torso, and that was when Y/n knew that something was going on. The sounds that Rowena was making were definitely more than enough to have an effect on Y/n, but they weren't quite enough for a physical sensation like what the younger witch was feeling. Rowena seemed hesitant to rush things, but Y/n could tell that Rowena couldn't help it. The woman grabbed Y/n's hand and guided it down her body, just barely pausing to allow for Y/n to feel her body heat before letting Y/n's hand move underneath the robe.

"I can feel it inside of me," Y/n said as Rowena sank onto her fingers.

"I'll explain later, at a better time. For now, don't worry about it and fuck me," Rowena said, her voice on the edge of pleading. It was much more desperate than Rowena liked to be around anybody. She had half a mind to kill Y/n when this was all finished, but admittedly, Rowena had fallen a little too far for the other woman. However, she would only ever verbally admit to being mostly fond to Y/n's presence for the sake of having another powerful witch nearby.

"Hey, focus on me," Y/n muttered as she used her other hand to turn Rowena's face towards her. Rowena surged forward to kiss Y/n as she moved her hips back and forth to ride Y/n's fingers. It was so different from being with a man or even touching herself that Rowena's head was spinning. Being with Y/n was unlike anything that Rowena had experienced before. Even within the coven, none of the other witches had the same skill and prowess that Y/n did. Sex was different now, much more of a spectacle in the modern world than it had been before, but Rowena was certain that Y/n was on another level by any time period's standards. Rowena's body curled into itself towards Y/n as she came. Y/n carefully placed her hand on Rowena's back as she held the shaking woman in her lap.

"For the sake of your training, I'm not sure how many more times this can happen." Rowena's voice was shaky at best as she tried to suck in as much air as possible. Y/n didn't blame her as the same feelings washed through her at a lesser intensity. She wasn't quite sure what had happened, but it definitely felt as if some sort of spell had overcome her.

Quise hacerle unos leves retoques a Kanato, más blanco, con leves venas azules y orejas mucho más marcadas, para que sus ojos se vean más grandes, pues muchas veces la apariencia de Kanato me recuerda a Nosferatu, un pequeño homenaje a ese gran vampiro del cine antiguo 💜💜💜 . . . This day is the triplets' second birthday, and as in the previous drawing of Laito and Offenderman, Kanato and Splendorman are very compatible, while I added a bit of the IT clown (Pennywise) to him. I wanted to make a few slight touches to Kanato, whiter, with slight blue veins and much more marked ears, so that his eyes would look bigger, because many times Kanato's appearance reminds me of Nosferatu, a small tribute to that great vampire of the old cinema 💜💜💜

Se la pratica di iniettare adrenalina intracardiaca aveva un senso prima di defribillare un paziente irresponsivo alle precedenti defibrillazioni (il rischio di lesioni cardiache oggi è ritenuto inaccettabile e si preferisce farla sgocciolare nei bronchi), c'è da capire che gli agenti nervini non agiscono così velocemente come rappresentato in quel film, ragion per cui basta un iniettore sottocutaneo Mark 1 NAAK (Nerve Agent Antidote Kit) che ti somministra in tempi utili una dose di atropina e di pralidossima in tempi consoni.

wolfhowls Domanda! In un sacchissimo di film il personaggio X inietta ad Y un sonnifero. Ok lasciamo perdere che nella realtà glielo inietterebbe male ma... fa effetto IMMEDIATAMENTE?

L'unica cosa che fa effetto immediatamente è un bolo di farmaco sparato direttamente in vena (e comunque si parla di una decina di secondi necessari a raggiungere e a saturare i neurorecettori cerebrali). Qualsiasi molecola iniettata intramuscolo impiega MINUTI (anche decine di) a fare effetto, quindi addio dardo sparato da pistola o fucile... se fosse efficace così istantaneamente non credi che sarebbe già una dotazione delle forze di polizia?

P.S. I lacci emostatici (torniquets in inglese) hanno senso esclusivamente nelle grandi catastrofi dove il paziente in emorragia non può essere tamponato e seguito in modo continuativo. Nel caso in cui - come fatto notare da @nusta - il soccorritore prima di andarsene a occuparsi di qualcun'altro annota l'orario di applicazione scrivendolo accanto al laccio e chi passa legge e lo allenta ogni tot minuti.

He tells himself he should know better than to search his black and green skin for gold, but a deep part of his heart still wants to believe in miracles. And for once, a miracle has come to him. Leaving only the question why the connection had not formed until now.

A pale, six-fingered hand brushes a lily petal off her hand, revealing a line of gold over her palm. Her sisters look at her with disgust and mortification and something that is almost pity, but the Fairy does not see them in this moment. She watches as the gold seems to gleam with a light that makes that of the stars seem dull, cold and distant.

The man wants to make his own way in the world, unburdened by fate. He does not think of the line of gold that circles around his leg as though left there by a trap. He runs as though he could outrun his own soul.

He doesn't know what it means. The pain, he had attributed to entering a new world. But when washing, a shimmer of gold on his arm caught his attention. He scrubbed at it to see if it would come off, but it didn't and somehow, this was a relief to him. When he asks his brother, he refuses to answer.

He didn't know what he had expected. Golden marks suddenly appearing on his skin, welcoming him to the world he truly belonged to? Nothing of the sort, of course not. Not for him. He wonders if she had been his soulmate after all. He'll never know. He had left her behind in another world.

A sting on his palms and knees that wouldn't even had register among his numerous battle wounds from fighting the Onyx patrol. His body is wounded, but it is young and strong. Except he later finds tiny specks of gold in the brown stone of his skin. He imagines how a person would sustain an injury like that. Oh great. His soulmate is a bloody toddler.

Seeing her for the first time is nothing like looking into a mirror, contrary to what Hentzau had been told all his life. He knows very well what he sees in a mirror. He knows he is a weapon, old and brittle from too many battles, but still about good enough for slaying enemies. He has always borne his damage as what it was, received and displayed in the defiant act of proving he was still alive.

There was so little gold on his own body that it was too easy not to think about the gold on another's.

His scars are golden marks on her skin, but she isn't damaged. She has lived a relatively soft life, only marred by the fact that the universe had made the mistake of linking them together. He can see her recognising him the moment their eyes meet and how could she not? It's not like she could be possibly able to not notice his scars. When she kneeled down in front of him, he noticed the way she was pressing her hand against her side, mirroring the wound that had lead to him having to lean against this tree now.

As the pain pushed him further and further towards unconsciousness, he wonders if she is even real, or if his mind mocks him in his dying moments by conjuring up a human soulmate, of all things.

She turns out to be real. She and the care with which she dresses his wounds. She and her questions about himself and his life that don't stop coming, not even when she doesn't receive answers. Which she doesn't seem to bothered by, until she asks a final question.

"Can I see you again?" With anxiety in her voice and tentative hope in her eyes. This woman who had been forced to feel his pain all her life and didn't despise him for it. Who still wanted to know him. A human who had, upon finding out she was connected to a Goyl, hadn't shied away from the revelation and instead just seemed happy to have met him.

The possibility of someone loving him had seemed so wild and far away all these years. But here she was. Waiting for him to take a leap of faith she couldn't even fathom.

"If the army of your empress doesn't manage to finish what it tried to start, then yes." There. Maybe death would take the choice off his hands. But judging by the level of incompetence the human soldiers had displayed thus far, he doesn't expect it. He turns to leave and she, probably without thinking, reached out and took his hand. This skin on skin contact does many things to his insides and by far not all of them are unease at how soft her skin is.

"Then I hope they don't", she says softly and lets go. Letting him leave without trying to make him acknowledge her words in any way. And in that moment, he knew that she would give him all the time he'd need. Because somehow, she had come to the conclusion that he would be worth waiting for.

The army of the empress fails and the Goyl win. When Therese sends her capitulation, the goyl gather in celebration.

Ethan Hawke cumple 53 años

Ethan Hawke cumple 51 años y se ha pasado 32 trabajando. En tres décadas de profesión ha conseguido el equilibrio perfecto entre lo independiente y las producciones de acción. Guionista, escritor, director,... Ethan Hawke es un hombre con inquietudes. Comenzó en el cine en el año 1985 con la película de ciencia ficción 'Explorers', junto a River Phoenix, otra gran promesa de esa generación.

Sin embargo, el momento cumbre de Hawke llegaría un poco más tarde: su gran momento llegó cuando se subió a un pupitre y gritaba a Robin Williams ¡Oh, Capitán, mi Capitán!, emprendiendo así una revolución en ese aula.

Ya en los 90 fue una de los rostros más reconocidos por el público. Fue junto a Winona Rider la cara de la Generación X gracias a ese título de 1994 llamado 'Reality Bites', una película que recogía la esencia de toda una generación.

Pero Hawke tiene más trabajos, y muy dispares: trabajos más comerciales como 'Día de entrenamiento', película por la que consiguió su primera nominación al Oscar, o el primer capítulo de 'The Purge'. Sin embargo también su carrera está curtida con numeras cintas indies: 'El plan de Maggie', 'Juliet desnuda', 'El reverendo', etc. Lo hemos visto convertido en villano por partida doble: en la cinta de terror 'Black Phone' y también será uno de los nuevos malos del Universo Cinematográfico de Marvel.

Ethan Green Hawke nace en Austin, Texas, el 6 de noviembre de 1970. De adolescente aspiraba a ser escritor. Actuó en varias ocasiones en producciones teatrales. Eso le impulsó a estudiar interpretación en la Universidad de Pittsburgh, pero no terminó los estudios.

En 1991 tocaba fichar por el mundo Disney: una cinta familiar que con le paso del tiempo se ha convertido en telefilme, 'Colmillo blanco'.

Pero se veía que a Ethan le iban las producciones pequeñas e intimistas. De ahí que 'El país del agua', con Jeremy Irons de protagonista, le fuera como anillo al dedo.

También le tocó liderar a los supervivientes de los Andes en 1972 en '¡Viven!'.

Andrew Niccol le ofreció el papel protagonista de una historia que mezclaba ciencia ficción con espionaje. La sorpresa fue que en el reparto conoció a una tal Uma Thurman....

En 1998 se casó con la actriz, formando así una pareja de cine. Eso sí, alejados de los circuitos hollywoodienses.

El actor ha explotado muy bien la vena romántica en muchas y variadas ocasiones: en 'Mientras nieva sobre los cedros', por ejemplo, le tocó vivir un amor en tiempos de guerra, al estilo best seller o con con Gwyneth Paltrow en la adaptación moderna de la obra de Dickens, 'Grandes esperanzas'. Ethan quedaba perfecto como el eterno amante no correspondido.

En 2001 dirige su primer película, un drama que transcurre en el hotel Chelsea. Para la cinta contó con su esposa Uma, su colega Robert Sean Leonard, Rosario Dawson, Mark Webber, Vincent D' Onofrio y Natasha Richardson.

Con su trabajo en 'Training Day' se llevó su primera nominación al Oscar. Durante una jornada entera, Denzel Washington le metía en todo tipo de embrollos fuera de la ley. Pero Ethan aguantó bien el tipo.

El actor tiene publicadas cuatro novelas: The hottest state, 'Ash Wednesday: A Novel', 'Rules for a Knight' e 'Indeh: A Story of the Apache Wars'.

Lo confesó años después, cuando le preguntaron sobre su mejor beso en la gran pantalla. Él lo tenía claro: el de 2004 en 'Vidas ajenas' con su compañera de reparto, Angelina Jolie.

Con Uma tuvo dos hijos, la también actriz Maya (1998) y el también actor Levon (2002). La pareja se separó en 2005.

En sus cintas de acción casi siempre le ha tocado ser policía. Ha tocado casi todos los rangos. En 'El señor de la guerra' fue un agente de la Interpol que seguía la pista a dos traficantes de armas: Nicolas Cage y Jared Leto.

En 2008 se casó por segunda vez con Ryan Shawhughes, con la que tiene dos hijas, Clementine Jane (2008) e Indiana (2011).

Fue el protagonista de la primera de esas fatídicas noches de catarsis. En 'The Purge: La noche de las bestias' defendió a su familia como pudo durante esas tensas doce horas.

Ha sido nominado en cuatro ocasiones: como actor de reparto en 'Training Day' y 'Boyhood', y por los guiones de 'Antes del atardecer' y 'Antes del anochecer'

Dispuesta a seguir los pasos de papá y mamá, Maya Hawke ha aparecido en 'Stranger Things' y estuvo en el reparto en 'Érase una vez en...Hollywood'. Levon también se ha sumado a lo de la actuación

Todos sus últimos trabajos: 'The Northman' junto a Nicole Kidman y Alexander Skarsgaard. También 'Tonight at noon', bajo las órdenes de Michael Almereyda junto a Chiwetel Ejiofor, Connie Nielsen y Rutger Hauer. Tretiakov. 1876 Mark Matveevich Antokolsky, sin exagerar, es el escultor más famoso y popular de Rusia, y la estatua del "Zar Iván el Terrible" es la más famosa del arte ruso, una de las más emblemáticas de la colección de la Galería Tretyakov. Antokolsky buscó dar un nuevo impulso al desarrollo de la escultura, para hacerla no menos atractiva para el público que la pintura. La estatua, que resume los resultados de la formación artística del escultor, fue expuesta en la sala de la Academia de las Artes en marzo de 1871.

"Iván el Terrible" sorprendió con su novedad, realismo, sentimientos vivos y una autenticidad poco común. El rey, vestido con túnicas monásticas, está inmerso en pensamientos pesados. Al observar la estatua a su alrededor, primero se puede ver una mano apretada en el reposabrazos del trono, un rosario apretado en un puño, venas abultadas, hombros levantados: todo delata una tensión apenas contenida. Parece que en un momento estallará en un arrebato de ira y el sínodo fúnebre abierto, agarrándose apenas de sus rodillas, caerá a los pies del trono. Continuando con el movimiento, el espectador ve algo completamente diferente: una cabeza tristemente gacha, un codo que se desliza impotente por su abrigo de piel; toda la silueta de una figura sentada exhausta habla del sufrimiento del rey y, tal vez, del arrepentimiento.

Iván el Terrible es un personaje complejo, es un verdugo y un mártir al mismo tiempo. Los contemporáneos elogiaron la escultura como un logro importante en el desarrollo de tendencias realistas en las artes plásticas rusas. “En términos del poder del diseño, la habilidad y la belleza de la ejecución, la profunda penetración en el significado histórico y el alma misma <...> - esta estatua es decisivamente superior a todo lo que hemos visto hasta ahora de este tipo <. ..>. Es imposible imaginar a Grozny de otra manera, ya que lo esperaba la imaginación creativa del señor Antokolsky” - con estas palabras destacó la apariencia de la escultura de I.S. Turguénev.

La Academia de las Artes otorgó al escultor el título de académico. En 1872, la estatua, traducida al yeso, se exhibió en la primera exposición itinerante en Moscú. Por orden del emperador Alejandro II en 1871, Antokolsky realizó un molde de bronce (Museo Ruso), y en 1875 para P.M. Tretyakov - versión de mármol.

Al crear "The Terrible", Antokolsky dio un gran paso adelante, ampliando significativamente el marco de comprensión de la escultura de caballete y delineando formas de encarnar un gran tema en ella.

Accents and Syllables in Spanish

Or I’m so mad about this that I wrote an explanation of basic Spanish grammar:

First, all letters in Spanish are consistent in their sound, some consonants vary in how they’re pronounced but there are rules to this. Spanish has five vowels (a, e, i, o, u) and their sounds don’t change. I’m not going to explain the pronunciation of all letters here, so I’ll work on the assumption you’re familiar with them. So if you know the way the letters sound and know the orthographic rules I’m about to explain, you should be able to know how to pronounce any word in Spanish by just reading it.

Words are divided by syllables, each syllable in Spanish feels very individual, like the beat of a drum. Vowels are the core of each syllable, a consonant sound must always come with a vowel, the priority goes to having a vowel after, but it can also follow a vowel when there is none after it.

Now, each syllable has what we call the sílaba tónica, that is, the stressed syllable. Which syllable you stress can completely change the meaning of a word. For example, título, titulo, and tituló would mean title, [I] title, and [she/he] titled, respectively. Luckily there are rules to know which syllable to stress

When a word ends in a consonant that is not N or S the stressed syllable should be the last one. For example: ayer (a-YER), reloj (re-LOJ), valor (va-LOR).

When a word ends in a vowel, N or S the stressed syllable should be the penultimate one. For example: gato (GA-to), marco (MAR-co), polen (PO-len).

Accent marks (á, é, í, ó, ú), signal the stressed syllable whenever it doesn’t follow the previous rules. This would of course mean that all words where the stressed syllable is any one before the penultima one would have an accent mark.

Café (ca-FE), corazón (co-ra-ZON)

Árbol (AR-bol), cráter (CRA-ter)

Sílaba (SI-la-ba), célula (CE-lu-la)

Hiatus and diphthongs

Ok, now that we covered the basics let’s move to something more tricky. Spanish vowels are divided into strong (a, e, o) and weak (i, u). Whenever two strong vowels are next to each other, each keeps to its own syllable, forming a hiatus. However, a weak syllable gets pulled in by the force of a strong vowel and becomes part of the same syllable; the same thing happens if two weak syllables are together, forming a diphthong.

Hiatus: toalla (to-A-lla), leer (le-ER), aéreo (a-E-re-o)

Diphthongs: reino (REI-no), hueso (UE-so), buitre (BUI-tre), camión (ca-MION)

The way to break a diphthong and make a hiatus with a weak vowel would be if the weak vowel is pronounced with enough strength to break into its own syllable, which would make said syllable the stressed one of that word. In this case, an accent mark is always written regardless of the usual accentuation rules.

Río (RI-o), ataúd (a-ta-UD), cafeína (ca-fe-I-na)

Acento diacrítico

That’s all on accents and pronunciation, but you may have noticed that some Spanish words have accent marks even when you wouldn’t need it to know how to read it out loud, mostly seen in monosyllabic words (which wouldn't need an accent mark in any case). Well this is what we call an acento diacrítico.

This accent mark is used to differentiate between words that are written the same but belong to different grammatical categories. For example:

Sí is an adverb meaning “yes”, while si is a conjunction meaning “if”.

Tú is a personal pronoun meaning “you”, while tu is a possessive determiner meaning “your”

I won’t make a full list, but you will notice that it’s usually the pronouns that get the accents mark. Él means him/it, but el means “the” (Él está enojado vs el carro es rojo). Compare ésta vs esta, mí vs mi etc.

Furthermore all interrogative adverbs have an accent mark: dónde, cuándo, cuánto, qué, quién, cuál, por qué.

And that’s pretty much the gist of it. Now you too can read any Spanish word you encounter!
