Los Angeles Dodgers-San Francisco Giants Preview
10.8.21-Walker Buehler RHP (16-4) 2.47 ERA Vs. Logan Webb RHP (11-3) 3.03 ERA
10.9.21-Julio Urias LHP (20-3) 2.96 ERA Vs. Kevin Gausman RHP (14-6) 2.81 ERA
10.11.21-Alex Wood LHP (10-4) 3.83 ERA Vs. Max Scherzer RHP (15-4) 2.46 ERA
10.12.21-
10.14.21-
The Dodgers At A Glance- The Los Angeles Dodgers tied a franchise-high with 106 wins and still didn’t win the division. They were one game behind of the Giants for the West Division Title and had to play a winner-take-all Wild-Card Game on Wednesday night. Chris Taylor gave them a thrilling walk-off winner and the Dodgers will square off with the Giants for a trip to the NLCS. The Dodgers depth was tested all season long with injuries. Max Muncy led the team with 36 homers and 94 RBI’s, but he will miss the Division Series after dislocating his elbow on Sunday afternoon. Matt Beaty and Albert Pujols will split time at first base in his absence. Trea Turner was red hot in the final month of the season. He hit .353 with eight homers and twenty-one RBI’s. AJ Pollock was the most consistent hitter on the team with a .297 average on the year. Chris Taylor held this team together with his versatility and clutch hitting. Cody Bellinger has hit just .165 for the year, but has provided great defense in center field. The Dodgers have some great pitching and a few Cy Young candidates. Clayton Kershaw is out for the playoffs with a forearm injury. Julio Urias was amazing in the postseason last year and won twenty games. Walker Buehler was dominant all season long and the team picked up Max Scherzer at the trade deadline. The bullpen has held things together as Kenley Jansen saved thirty-eight games and added a slower slider to his fastball-cutter mix. Blake Treinen had another great year with 85 strikeouts in 72 1/3 innings. Phil Bickford and Alex Vesia have had a breakout seasons. David Price has done everything that the team has asked of him. The Dodgers have the playoff experience to win this series, but it might come down to those injuries they suffered in the final month of the year.
The Giants At A Glance- The Giants were the biggest surprise in baseball in 2021. Everyone was saying that they were looking forward to 2022 when they get Buster Posey, Brandon Belt, and Brandon Crawford off the payroll. Well those guys had great years and the pitching came around for a 107-win season. Brandon Crawford was one of the leaders on this team with a .298 average, twenty-four homers, and ninety RBI’s. He also plays some of the best defense at short in baseball. Buster Posey hit .304 for the year and it was nice to have his experience back behind home plate. Brandon Belt hit twenty-nine homers, but he will miss this series after getting his in the thumb by a pitch. There is outside hope that he can return for the next round. LaMonte Wade Jr. has been one of the best stories for the Giants. He has been extremely clutch with key hits late in games. Kevin Gausman had another great year in San Francisco. He struck out 227 men over 192 innings and his splitter is unhittable when he’s on. Logan Webb was brilliant in the second half. He was (7-0) with a 2.71 ERA in sixteen starts after the All-Star Break. Anthony DeSclafani had a great year and Alex Wood and Johnny Cueto provided some good starts as well. Closer Jake McGee missed the final part of the season with an oblique strain. He has been throwing live batting practice and his return in uncertain for the team. Flamethrower Camilo Doval found something at the end of the season. He did not allow a run in 16 1/3 innings in the second half and struck out twenty-four men in 16 1/3 innings of work. Tyler Rogers had thirty holds and a 2.22 ERA. Gabe Kapler has showed confidence in the youngsters in his bullpen. He has given the ball to Camilo Doval, Kervin Castro, and Zack Littell is key situations late.
What To Watch For- The Giants went (10-9) against the Dodgers in 2021 and the one extra win was crucial in winning the National League West Division. Walker Buehler is (7-1) with a 2.55 ERA in thirteen games against the Giants. Logan Webb is (1-2) with a 3.64 ERA in six starts versus the Dodgers. Julio Urias is (2-3) with a 2.61 ERA in twenty games against the Giants. Kevin Gausman has a 3.99 ERA in eight games against the Dodgers. Mookie Betts has three homers off Gausman in his career. Justin Turner has taken him deep twice. Alex Wood is (2-2) with a 3.12 ERA in eight games versus the Dodgers. AJ Pollock, Justin Turner, Chris Taylor, and Steven Souza each have two homers off Wood. Max Scherzer is (4-5) with a 3.84 ERA in eleven starts versus the Giants. Brandon Crawford has two career homers off Scherzer. This will be a fun series against two rivals and my second and third favorite teams. Both teams have injuries with the Dodgers having Clayton Kershaw and Max Muncy out. The Giants captain Brandon Belt is out for this series. The Giants have just had this magic all season long where they get a key hit late or a reliever gets out of a big jam. It’s something that I’ve hardly ever saw in baseball. The Giants may be a team of destiny and this series will go five games. I think the Giants win in a crazy series between the Dodgers and the Giants.

Larry McGee Revolution: “The Burg (Pittsburgh, PA.)” b/w “Happy Bicentennial USA” (1976, 2005)
Major League Baseball’s Pittsburgh Pirates won the World Series in 1971. Then there’s Terry Bradshaw, Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback from 1970-1983. They won the Super Bowl in 1975 and 1976 with him on the field and both teams brought out the pride of all Pittsburgh citizens and musicians everywhere. Such as one Larry McGee, who formed his band as the Boogie Band (later The Revolution) and released an initial minimum 500 copies of their Pittsburgh tribute. Though originally uncredited on wax, we have Larry McGee (lead guitar / vocals), Lamont "Monty" Ray (guitar), Joe "Chipper" Gray (bass), Willie "Spiegal" Gay (drums) and Keith Stabbler (keys), who in my ears made the song because it give it that special touch; the touch being William Onyeabor’s “Better Change Your Mind” (’78) and Joe Moks “Boyd & Girls” (’79). Only a few years later and McGee placed the right bets like everyone else: The Pirates won again in 1979 and The Steelers won it all with them and again in 1980, all which caused McGee to make a disco version of his hit.
Licorice Soul gave the re-issue another 500 copies with additional edits and versions collected on wax. The original is asking for triple-digits on the secondary market, but the proper pressing is more accessible.

Realized the other day how many non canon pairings I write
Like my only real main canon pairings I write since I have an invested interest in them and not just left as canon since don't bother to change it is only a small handful.
Lamont Cranston/Margo Lane
Mostly Luke Skywalker/Mara Jade or well canon to the old EU anyway.
Han Solo/Leia Organa
Mike/Vanessa, and Kyle/Mandy from Last Man Standing
Actually confirmed as later canon of Barry Allen/Tina McGee from the old 1990's Flash show.
My non canon pairings on the other hand?
Barry Allen/Caitlin Snow from the modern day Flash TV show and a Barry/Patty in one story
Oliver Queen/Sara Lance from Arrow is despite dating they were not the end game ship.
Or well taking a real count of the Oliver pairings I have done Nyssa al Ghul, Talia al Ghul, and Helena Bertinelli
For NCIS let's see Timothy McGee with either Ziva or Ellie Bishop
Zoe Keates for Tony DiNozzo on NCIS
With Bruce/Selina it's kind of hard to say on this one since while it has been canon in various stuff over the years, it's rarely endgame in anything and most of what I write is these two as end game.
Terry McGinnis/Melanie Walker
Clark Kent/Chloe Sullivan
Probably some others on both I'm forgetting but yeah I'm like a moment of realizing I write either a lot of non canon pairings period or were canon but didn't end game that way type of deal.
Ah well this is what fan fiction is for.
How about you guys?

Tales from the Hood
Tales from the Hood
(USA 1995)
The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Rusty Cundieff’s anthology Tales from the Hood is a good idea: four vignettes of black life presented as horror stories — so, a horror flick with a message, more commentary than a “scary movie.” I see why Spike Lee attached his name to it (as executive producer).
Cundieff and cowriter Darin Scott pick material topics that still resonate…

Armoy gets new title sponsor!
Roadside KIA is Title Sponsor of Armoy's 'Race of Legends' 2017
ARMOY Motorcycle Road Racing Club has just announced that the title sponsor of their 2017 'Race of Legends' will be Roadside KIA Coleraine.
The Coleraine based firm has also sponsored Michael Dunlop for the past three years. They are a well-established and family run car dealership which offers new Kia cars along with an ever growing selection of high quality, great value pre-loved cars. Roadside has continuously assisted the Armoy Motorcycle Road Racing Club in one way or another over the years whether it has been sponsoring a race or supplying the Clerk of the Course with his car for Bike Week.
2017 sees the ninth year for the Armoy Road Races and as the youngest national road race in Ireland, there seems to be no stopping them as year on year the visitor figures increase. Armoy Road Races are part funded by Tourism Northern Ireland and the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and it attracts some of the best-known names in road racing with brothers, Michael and William Dunlop, Derek Sheils and Derek McGee, but more information on who's who at Armoy in the coming weeks.
Bill Kennedy MBE, Clerk of the Course said, “2017 is set to be a good year and with Coleraine company, Roadside KIA, on board as title sponsor we are all very happy. I'm not going to make any bones about it, I wish we had this sorted a few months ago but it's all go now, given this announcement.
“We've our launch of the Armoy Road Races fairly shortly after the IoM TT has finished, so there will be a few more details to learn there on what is happening at the end of July.
“I would at this stage, on behalf of the Club and personally, like to thank David Boyd and Ian Lamont of Roadside KIA for their commitment this year to the Armoy Road Races. We've some fantastic sponsors this year, some of who, thankfully, have been with us since year one and others that are brand new to road racing.
“I look forward to working with David and Ian. They are both keen road racing enthusiasts, particularly given their kind sponsorship of Michael Dunlop.”
The Armoy Road Races are one of Northern Ireland's prime motorsport gatherings, attracting motorcycle riders both locally and internationally, and Roadside Garage's commitment to the Armoy Road Races underlines the popularity of this annual event.
David Boyd of Roadside Garages said, “I didn’t hesitate when asked to support the Armoy Road Racing Motorcycle Club and the Race of Legends 2017. Having been involved with road racing in one way or another for a number of years including the Armoy Road Races this was an easy decision.
“Roadside KIA is a local company serving the local community, this is our way of helping the wider community as well as being involved in one of the best road races there is. The Armoy Road Races and the Race of Legends epitomises all that is great about this sport.”
This year, Bike Week runs from Sunday 23rd July until Saturday 29th July and the races take place on Friday 28th July and Saturday 29th July 2017 in the legendary village of Armoy.
For more information on Armoy Road Races, visit www.amrrc.com or search for ‘AMRRC’ on Facebook or follow on twitter @ArmoyRoadRaces.
