It was SO warm that human took me outside! I was so excited I decided I should try some Olympic sports like my friend Kirby! I managed to find the one patch of ice remaining in the corner of the yard and took off towards it. I am SPEED SKATING tort!!! I definitely deserve a gold! Human had to chase after me!

I also maybe got in a little trouble cause human was worried about me getting cold... also her shoe went through the ice to the puddle while she was grabbing me. ooops. Maybe summer Olympics is a better plan for me.

(a good reminder to never take your eyes off your shell friend.. they are faster, smarter, and sneakier than people realize :D )

Things I wish someone told me before and during a law degree:

Be prepared to do a lot of readings. This is beyond set pre-readings; it’s case readings, extended readings, analysis of cases, law reports, legislation, the Constitution.

Law is probably one of the only subjects where you need the textbooks, and there will be a lot of them. I’m a second year student and have a collection of 12 textbooks… 9 of them are for law.

With my University, all of our exams are open book. You have to make notes! Either digital and then printed off or physically in a notebook. With online school this isn’t a problem, just cite your sources.

Referencing and citing is vital, you need to follow the AGLC* 4 rules.

Notes should not be descriptive. Aim for summaries on the type of tort, crime, theory; elements of omissions; legal theories, principles, tests, or descending opinions. Remember, any opinion on law is valid, if Kirby J makes an argument that a law should be read narrowly, you can argue this in your cases.

Cases are important if it’s common law based. Common law does not our rule legislation, if a law is made through the Legislature then common law doesn’t matter

The marks you get for assessments and exams will not be your final mark. Law schools can only give x amount of HDs, D*, C*, Ps* are okay.

You don’t need nice clothes, most people turn up in sweats and ripped jeans. You’ll find your style eventually. Moots do require business formal clothes, get them second hand. For my moot I bought a button down and wore my mum’s suit blazer, skirt, and shoes.

American spelling if you’re American; British English is you’re British or Australian. Don’t forget it.

Sci-hub and z-library are very bad “wink” “wink”

Even if you’re only taking law, you’re also taking a language course. You will be required to learn a dead language… Latin.

You might want to curl up and die… it’s probably just because you don’t like the area of law you’re studying at that moment. I wished for death during Constitutional law, I’m now thriving in Criminal and Tort law.

It’s a very competitive field. I prefer to be left alone. As bad as it is, no one will ask you questions if you’re blonde… so I dye my hair blonde to avoid first year students belittling and undermining my opinions. God forbids you’re right; I sat in a class with both the dictionary and legal definition of ‘flight risk’ but still got told I was wrong but classmates.

It’s fun though. Imposture syndrome is real. The gritty struggle of life and law is real. Look after your mental health. I found my first year and start of my second year to be the hardest as I struggled with what I thought to be bad habits, turns out I have ADHD. Don’t let yourself struggle to get a good grade, just live a life.

"So, what's up with you, tall dark and handsome?" Kirby questions teasingly.

"Just thinking 'bout chocolate milk."

"Shane, if I suggested a name to you, would you give me a yes or no? Or if I gave you a list of names?"

"Absolutely. We need something good to think about right now."

"Right, quickfire, yes or no: Harley, Raven, Robin, Silver, Angel, Lilith?"

Helms is about to give his answers, but he balks after hearing the first name, "You wanna name our baby Harley?" He asks softly.

"It was the first name that came to my head." She admits sheepishly.

"That's what we called her..." He whispers.

"I know," Kirby pulls off the road, "Shane, I know that, alright. I don't mean to offend you or hurt you, but sometimes I... sometimes I forget." She whispers, looking away from Helms and covering her face with her hands.

"I'm not offended or hurt... just sometimes I don't think about her for a while and then something makes me think of her and then I remember that I forgot and everything just... it comes back fast." He murmurs.

"I'm not suggesting it as a first name, maybe as a middle name or something, but... God, I feel so stupid."

"Don't do that."

"Don't do what, feel like I'm a fucking idiot, because I'm fairly certain I've just done something incredibly dumb."

"Don't call yourself stupid instead of apologizing. It doesn't help anything. And besides, Harleen's name isn't a dirty word to me. A painful one sometimes, but most of the memories I have with her are happy ones. She was a happy chapter of those years. I hate what I did to her, but not for a second do I regret the time I had with her. I just didn't expect you to mention her. Caught me off-guard."

"Just, gimme a minute, okay. I'm sorry about everything, I mean that, any time I've ever said or done anything stupid, I'm sorry." She whispers, parking the car and stepping out, her fears taking over her mind.

Helms leans back in his seat and sighs softly, closing his eyes as he rubs his face. He's debating whether to follow her or to give her a little space. She's obviously upset, but his own high emotions are clouding his judgement.

"Stupid, stupid fucking idiot Kirby, that's what you are and that's all you'll ever be." She whispers to herself, walking away from the car and trying to get out of Helms' view to try and slap some sense into herself.

Helms eventually grits his teeth and climbs out of the car to follow her.

"Such a fucking idiot, Kirby, that's all you'll ever be, just a stupid fucking slut and a fucking ugly ogress."

"I said to stop doing that." Helms says softly, grabbing her hand.

"Leave me alone." Kirby states flatly.

"Why? So you can abuse yourself some more?"

"laisse-moi tranquille. Je ne veux pas parler de ça, va-t'en."

"Putain ça. Tu veux juste t'appeler sale merde. Mais ce n'est pas comme ça que vous vous sentirez mieux. Savez-vous ce qui vous fera sentir mieux?"

"non, quoi?" She whispers.

"Vous vous excusez. Ensuite, lorsque la personne à qui vous avez fait du tort dit que tout va bien, vous laissez tomber. Vous ne vous culpabilisez pas. Cela ne fait amende honorable à personne; c'est juste être cruel envers toi-même."

"Shane, je préfère être déshonoré que de me sentir comme toute ma vie d'adulte J'ai été une pute qui va avec n'importe qui qui je pense m'aimera, je suis un idiot, une ogresse et une garce, je ne mérite pas la vie J'ai vécu, j'ai mérité de mourir aux côtés de mes parents. aller trouver quelqu'un de mieux que moi parce que je préfère être mort que blessé comme je le fais maintenant."

"Goddammit, Kirby, you're none of those things!" He practically screams, his heart snapping in two as the emotions he's tried to be strong through come rushing in. "You're not! You're not anything you're saying about yourself! I fucking promised to you and to everyone we care about to love you and protect you our whole goddamn lives and I'm not breaking that vow! I'm not leaving you, I'm not letting you die, and I'm not losing this baby too!"

Kirby goes silent, not knowing what to say or do, wiping tears away from her eyes.

Helms is trembling like a leaf and his eyes are red and desperate. "Please..." he whispers, his voice seeming as broken as he is. "I can't lose you too..."

Kirby pulls Helms close to her, kissing his temple and stroking his hair gently, "I'm not going anywhere, I'm staying with you... from now until forever, no secrets... I saw how you looked at Shannon, you don't look at each other like friends, you look at each other like lovers."

Helms opens his mouth to protest, but wordlessly shuts it as he looks away. "Yeah... guess we do..." he eventually murmurs.

"I know I get jealous, and in the past people have been secretive with me about whether they are cheating or not, so you better tell me, right now. If it's in the past, we can move on. If it's not in the past, I'm kicking both your asses."

"Do you remember how I said he and I lost contact for a while because I didn't really have a home?"

"Yep." She nods.

"We lost contact because we broke up. I first hooked up with him to piss off my parents for some kind of attention, but I figured out I really liked being with him, so when I left home, we moved in together. A few months later, after I hadn't been able to get a job, he told me he could either afford all the rent or all the food, but not both. It led to an argument where he more or less kicked me out. I took the last of my savings, bag of my stuff, took a bus as far away as possible and just kinda wandered the streets until Elizabeth found me. I was pissed with Shannon at first, but I later forgave him cause I was a hell of a moocher and deserved to get kicked out. We haven't fucked in over ten years and besides the Hardys being go-betweens, I only got contact with him again within the last few months. I take my vows of being your husband seriously. Shannon may have meant a lot to me in my past, but all we're doing now is re-kindling a friendship that needs it badly."

"Okay, I'm fine with that, just... cut down on the lingering looks at him when you see him, because it makes the jealous side of me want to strangle him."

"Have I given you any reason to doubt me? Anything at all that makes you question my devotion to you? If I have, I want to know so I can stop it."

"You remember last month, the Halloween party at the Hardy's place, you and Shannon disappeared for two hours and no one knew where you were, especially because I had called Delilah to keep an eye on you because I had gone home earlier and left you so you could drink with the guys. No one knew what happened between you two for two hours out of a four hour Halloween party."

"Do you want to know what we did for those two hours?"

"It would ease my mind." She nods.

"We talked. We had beers, but we didn't touch them. He asked me what I'd been up to since we parted ways and I told him. Told him about Elizabeth and Harleen and details about that part of my life I've spared you from. Told him about how I finally got my break in wrestling, how I met you, about our wedding and I probably talked his ear off about the baby. And at the end of it all, he told me I got the happy ending I deserved. That he was sorry his choices had caused me to suffer and that he hoped I could find it in me to forgive him for putting me through it. And I did. Because through all the shit that happened, if my circumstances hadn't lined up like they did, I wouldn't have met you. Any suffering is worth this happy ending."

Kirby pulls Helms into a gentle kiss, holding him close, "I'm sorry I ever doubted you."

"I appreciate the apology"

"I just want to be able to trust people, but my past has taught me never to trust."

"Never will I ever betray that trust."

"I want to trust you, I want to be able to say I'm fine with everything, but I can't stand here and say that because it's not true... I'm broken beyond repair." She whispers to herself.

"Not beyond repair. Just slow repair."

"Feels like the damage done by others will never be fixed." She whispers, catching a glimpse of a silver flash go past and instinctively protecting Helms as a car crashes into their parked car, "oh fuck."

"Speaking of damage..." he whispers, purely out of instinct.

"Don't be the comedian, not now." Kirby whispers, pulling Helms up from the ground and taking a few paces closer before both cars go up in flames, "right, have you got all your stuff from the car?"

"Yeah, got my wallet. Keys are gone, but there's a spare for the house there."

"No, I've got my house keys in my pocket, took them off the car keys yesterday night... phone and wallet are safe too, uhm, we should probably get back before it explodes."

"You get back. I need to make sure whoever was driving the other car's okay."

Kirby nods, getting back and calling for an ambulance and the fire service. Helms tries to get close cautiously, wanting to help, but also assessing to see if the situation was a lost cause. The front of both cars are completely crushed, the driver, and sole occupant of the car, is quite clearly deceased. Though he hasn't been religious since he was a kid, something deep inside Helms compels him to say a silent prayer for the soul of the driver as he backs away. Kirby turns away, wiping away tears as she explains to the call handler what just happened, staying on the line until the fire truck arrives, an ambulance quickly following. Helms is numb as he watches. Can't even cry. All he hears is piercing silence and his the voice of his younger self pleading with his brother to wake up.

Kirby pulls Helms away, holding him close and making him turn away from the accident, "Shane, listen to me, you're okay."

"He's not." He whispers, his voice barely audible.

"You're not the only one of us who lost someone they loved like this, mon amour, you lost your brother, I lost my parents, I know how you feel, but you are okay, you aren't injured." She whispers, stroking his hair gently as she tries to calm him, letting her tears flow.

"It was my fault."

"No, no, no... no, it wasn't your fault... it was my fault... I should have been there for them ... it's all my fault... oh, mam, tad, pam oedd yn rhaid i chi farw?" She whispers, her voice wavering as she remembers that night.

He wants to comfort her through the memories. Wants to be strong for her. He's trying so hard to collect himself and help her through, but he's on the verge of his own breakdown; can hardly keep himself together.

Kirby clings to Helms, viewing him as her only comfort, "dwi'n dy garu gymaint, dwi byth eisiau dy golli di." She whispers against his neck, trying to keep composed as she kisses his neck softly and strokes his hair.

He's holding onto her tightly, feeling like he'll drown if he doesn't. "I love you."

Football Actualité : Man City Women 0-4 Chelsea FC met en évidence alors que les malheurs de City en début de saison se poursuivent

Manchester City cherchera à se venger et à gagner trois points bien nécessaires lorsqu’il accueillera Chelsea à l’Academy Stadium en Super League féminine cet après-midi.

City est septième du classement après avoir enregistré seulement sa deuxième victoire de la saison la dernière fois à Leicester. Chelsea, qui les a propulsés au titre au cours des deux dernières saisons, peut passer à un point du leader Arsenal avec sa propre victoire.

Chelsea était confortablement vainqueur 3-0 à l’Academy Stadium il y a deux semaines lors de la demi-finale de la FA Cup 2021, exposant les problèmes de blessures de City pour atteindre facilement la finale. Gareth Taylor espère réparer les torts de cet après-midi et combler l’écart avec les premiers leaders de la ligue après un début de saison cauchemardesque.

Taylor a insisté avant le match sur le fait que City pouvait toujours gagner le championnat, et ses joueurs ont clairement indiqué qu’ils ne cherchaient pas à s’excuser de leur crise de blessures dévastatrice au début de la saison. S’ils veulent changer les choses, cependant, ils devront commencer à obtenir des résultats comme contre Chelsea aujourd’hui.

X-Men Reviews Teil 35

"The Brootherhood of Evil Mutants"

X-Men 4

Inhalt:

Wie so oft üben die X-Men in Dangerroom diesmal nimmt Xavier sie besonders hart ran. Nach den Training jedoch überrascht er sie mit einer Torte da sie schon ein Jahr lang bei ihn lernen.

Unterdessen sitzt die Bruderschaft beim Essen zusammen. Da Toad schmatz wie ein Schwein verwandelt Mastermind ihn in eines. Wanda Findet das und seine Amachsprüche wenig lustig und lässt den Wein auf ohn kippen. Bevor er ihr was antun kann schlägt ihn Quicksilver zu Boden. Toad unterdessen fragt sich wo Magneto steckt.

Dieser dringt in eine Werft ein und klaut ein Krieg Schiff.

Zufällig fliegt Angel vorbei und wundert sich das keine Mannschaft am Schiff ist. Als er es den Proffessor erzählt hat der ein ungutes Gefühl.

Magneto kehrt zu seiner Basis zurück. Quicksilver sagt er wolle seine Schwester wegbringen doch Magneto errinert ihn daran das er ihr Leben gerettet hat und sie in seiner schuld stehen.

Ein paar Tage liest Xavier in der Zeitung das ein einsamen Kriegschiff den Südamerkamischen InselStaat Santo Marco überfallen hat.

Er nimmt telepathisch Kontakt zu Magneto auf und stellt fest das Dr dahinter steckt. Sofort bricht er mit den X-Men auf.

Mastermind unterdessen erschafft die Illusion einer Armee und so kann die Bruderschaft Santo Marco übernehmen.

Die X-Men geben sich als Touristen an aus und greifen dann im Land die Festung von Magneto an. Beast schlägt zwei Wachen an Turm k.o. wird aber von Toad runtergeworfen. Er will sich noch festhalten doch Mastermind redet ihn ein der Turm sei als Glas und Hank rutsch runter.

Angel schaltet mehre wachen aus im den er ein Strom Kabel auf die wirft (Mörder!) Und wird dann von Superschnellen Quicksilver angeriffen. Er lässt ihn gegen eine Mauer laufen. Jedoch tauch Scarlet Witch auf und lässt die Decke auf Angel stürzen. Angel wird gefangen und zu Magneto gebracht.

Cyclops taucht auf um ihn zu retten und greift Magneto an. Als Quicksilver ihn von hinten packt trifft Scott einen Generator der überladet und die Bruderschaft zum Rückzug trängt. Scott belastet den Generator durch die Wand und fast auf Iceman. Dieser Schaft sich Eispickel und kletter zum Loch rauf wo er zu Cyclops und Angel aufschließt. Sie wollen Magneto verfolgen werden aber von fliegenden Schwertern angegriffen. Jean und Beast retten sie und alle 5 X-Men müssen dann vor einer Feuerwalze fliehen.

Proffessor X rettet sie im dem er ihnen zeigt das das Feuer nur eine Illusion ist.

Magneto verbindet eine Tür mit einer Bombe und aktiviert auch noch eine Atombombe um die X-Men zu töten.

Als Hank die Tür öffen will wirft such Xavier dazwischen und wird von der Explosion verletzt. Quicksilver bringt es nicht über sich ein ganzen Land zu zerstören und deaktiviert die Bombe bevor die Bruderschaft mit ihren Schiff flieht.

Die X-Men machen sich mit den Schwer verletzten Xavier auf den Heimweg.

Fazit:

Erster Auftritt der Bruderschaft. Mir erschließt es sich nicht ganz wie Magneto mit einer einzeln Insel die Weltherrschsft an sich reisen will

Mon avis sur Les batailles du bicentenaire de Captain America de Jack Kirby

C'est devenu une tradition pour les blogueurs de faire sortir Captain America pour le 4 juillet. Date de la fête nationale des USA ! Je suis sûr que le poste le plus commun met en vedette la Marvel Treasury Special de 1976, Captain America's Bicentennial Battles. Même si j'étais un collectionneur de Marvel enragé dans les années 70, je n'ai jamais lu ce spécial jusqu'à la semaine dernière, la version numérique Captain America de Jack Kirby : Bicentennial Battles (qui comprend aussi Captain America 201-205).

Pourquoi ne l'ai-je pas lu ? Essentiellement parce que je snobais les travaux de Kirby. J'étais bête et élitiste. Je pensais que ça avait l'air ringard. Il faut dire qu'à cette époque , être trop patriotique n'était pas une chose qui coulait de sens dans les années 1970, après la débâcle de Richard Nixon. Mais, aujourd'hui avec le recul je sais que j'avais tort. Ce conte du Trésor est un superbe et subversif ! L'œuvre d'art est grandiose, parmi les meilleures des années soixante-dix de Kirby, retour à Marvel. Ça devient fou à partir de la première page, où Cap rend visite à un chat cool nommé Mister Buda, un être mystique qui a des pouvoirs indéfinis. Il est également bon à la méditation transcendantale, qui était une grande mode des années 70 en Californie, où Kirby a vécu. Je suis sûr que cela l'a inspiré.

L'idée maîtresse de cette histoire est d'envoyer Captain America rebondir dans le temps, visitant différentes époques du passé qui ont influencé les États-Unis. Monsieur Buda fait à Cap ce don sans sa permission, le don de la connaissance de la condition humaine à travers le temps. Son premier arrêt ? pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, où il tombe directement dans le quartier général nazi.

Dans une scène étonnamment émouvante, Cap est brièvement réuni avec Bucky dans le passé. C'était si touchant que maintenant je regrette que Marvel ait ranimé Bucky. Les encres pour ce volume surdimensionné sont Barry Smith, John Romita et Herb Trimpe. Smith a encré la première partie de l'histoire en terre nazie, et vous pouvez certainement voir son style d'embellissement ici, avec ses touches de signature sur la cotte de mailles de Cap et la forêt comme ils font leur fuite. Malheureusement, Cap est arraché à Bucky après une rencontre bien trop brève.

Il y a beaucoup de pages d'éclaboussures dans ce spécial, comme on peut s'y attendre de la part de Jack Kirby. J'adore celui où il crie "Nous sommes tous Américains !" avant d'être arraché à une rencontre passée. Le symbole sur sa paume est la magie imprégnée par Monsieur Buda pour le transporter à travers le temps. Il ressemble un peu à un symbole Illuminati.

Il y a aussi beaucoup d'humour dans ce livre ainsi que de l'angoisse. Il fait un voyage dans le temps jusqu'en 1776 où il rencontre Benjamin Franklin et Betsy Ross, qui regardent Cap et commencent à faire des croquis. Il s'avère que le premier drapeau américain a été inspiré par le costume de Cap, ce qui lui fait flipper jusqu'au bout.

Une autre scène humoristique consiste en un voyage dans les années 1930 où il rencontre un garçon qui vend des journaux à Brooklyn. Certains gangsters de la mafia essaient de voler un journal et Cap - qui, comme Kirby, déteste les brutes - les arrache violemment de la voiture. Les gangsters commencent à tirer, et Cap protège le garçon et se défend. Vous vous demandez ce que Kirby veut faire ici. S'agit-il d'un hommage à la Newsboy Legion, la formidable série qu'il a réalisée pour DC Comics et qu'il a récemment reprise dans Jimmy Olsen ? Non. Il s'avère que le garçon qui vend des journaux est Kirby lui-même ! "Quand je serai un grand artiste, je plâtrerai la tasse de Lefty sur toutes les pages de BD !"

Parmi la folie et l'humour, il y a un message. Il ne s'agit pas des meilleurs moments patriotiques de l'Amérique. À un moment donné, Cap en a assez de rebondir dans le passé et demande qu'il s'arrête. J'ai été un peu choqué de voir Monsieur Buda accuser Cap d'être trop superficiel pour connaître l'histoire des Etats-Unis. C'est choquant parce que c'est un personnage que Kirby a co-créé pour être un symbole patriotique. Il n'hésite pas à secouer ce personnage et à faire des folies sauvages avec lui. Je croyais que seuls les jeunes comme Starlin ou Englehart étaient les subversifs de Marvel dans les années 70. J'avais tort. Kirby était l'un d'entre eux, peut-être même un plus grand.

Cap débarque sur une bande de chasseurs amérindiens dirigée par Geronimo, en fuite d'un calvaire américain. Il essaie de les aider en donnant du sens aux hommes du Calvaire, en vain. Il en résulte une double page massive et magnifique. Il n'empêche jamais une tragédie de se produire. Tout ce qu'il peut faire, c'est d'en témoigner. Il rencontre aussi un esclave qui tente d'échapper à ses maîtres et à une future guerre sur la lune.

Je suis sorti de la lecture de ce volume tout à fait ravi. Jack Kirby a fait la folle adaptation Trippy 2001 A Space Odyssey plus tôt dans une autre édition Treasury. Le Trésor des Batailles du Bicentenaire est l'Odyssée de Captain America

L’afrofuturisme, pour coloniser l’imaginaire

Courant esthétique et philosophique, l’Afrofuturisme permet d’envisager un meilleur futur pour les Afrodescendants. Mais à brasser trop large, le genre rencontre aussi des problèmes d’identité.

21 juillet 1969 : devant le regard enthousiaste de 500 millions de téléspectateurs, Neil Armstrong descend de la capsule d’Apollo 11. Quelques secondes de suspens, puis ça y est : l’homme a marché sur la Lune - c’est la science-fiction qui devient réalité ! Mais il y a un hic : c’est un homme blanc qui marche sur la Lune, et c’est la science-fiction de blancs, pour blancs, qui devient réalité.

Sur fond de manifestations des droits civiques et de fin tumultueuse de l'apartheid, certaines voix dissidentes se font entendre à la même époque. Le musicien Sun Ra, tout droit descendu de Saturne, propose au travers de sa musique un programme que résume bien le titre d’un film qui a marqué les imaginaires : si les Afrodescendants veulent retrouver leur liberté, Space is the place (1974). Vingt ans plus tard, au détour d’un article à propos des auteurs de science-fiction Africains-Américains, le critique culturel Mark Dery forge un terme qui a depuis creusé son sillon : “les voix afro-américaines ont d’autres histoires à raconter au sujet de la culture, des technologies et des choses à venir. S’il existe un afro-futurisme, il est à chercher dans les endroits les plus improbables, du fin fond des constellations les plus lointaines.”

Ainsi naît ce mouvement philosophique et esthétique protéiforme et, avouons-le, assez indéfinissable. Unis autour d’une même ambition, celle de réécrire le futur à l’aune d’une relecture du passé, artistes, activistes, philosophes et universitaires ont contribué à donner vie au genre, et à définir des concepts autour desquels articuler une réflexion critique.

Captain America africain

L’Afrofuturisme délaisse la guerre des étoiles pour mener combat dans l’espace de l’imaginaire. Tout part d’une prise de conscience que les discours enthousiastes sur le futur technologiquement augmenté ne sont pas neutres. Un changement de perspective subtil, ainsi qu’un léger effort de volonté, suffisent à voir que les extraterrestres qui assaillent les humains caucasiens sortis de leur vaisseau interstellaire ne sont qu’une manifestation de l’Autre - de l’alien, comme on dit en anglais. Une fois ce biais découvert, c’est tout un nouveau champ de luttes qui s’ouvre. Le nouvel espace à conquérir n’est plus composé de planètes mais de récits, ceux qui sont au coeur de notre culture populaire.

Robert Morales et Kyle Baker ont par exemple réimaginé l’histoire de Captain America : après tout, si des expériences médicales avaient été conduites sur des soldats américains au cours de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale, il y a fort à parier que les désignés volontaires auraient été des Afrodescendants.

“On voit rarement les corps de femmes noires être célébrées sans être sexualisées comme dans les clips musicaux”, estime le nigérian CJ Obasi, réalisateur de Hello, Rain (2018). “Les femmes noires que j’ai connues quand j’étais petit, c’étaient des femmes puissantes et exemplaires. Et pourtant, je ne voyais jamais ce genre d’images à l’écran. Si on voit une histoire dans laquelle nous sommes beaux, et où nous faisons des choses géniales, c’est un symbole auquel nous pouvons nous rattacher”. L’écrivain Michael Roch partage ce combat pour l’imaginaire : “Le peuple Caribéen est complètement neuf ; les nouvelles générations sont perdues parce qu’elles sont extrêmement métissées, et qu’elles manquent de repères. On n’a pas de mythologie commune, de héros auquel se rattacher, de roman national.”

Apporter un regard neuf sur la société, c’est aussi examiner ce que Kodwo Eshun définit comme les “industries du futur”, ces monstres (par leur taille) du secteur de la culture qui façonnent notre univers en véhiculant des discours. L’Espagnol Miguel Llanso, qui a produit tous ses films en Ethiopie, explique à propos de Crumbs (2015) : “La relation entre les gens et les objets est une bonne porte d’entrée pour analyser la structure de notre monde et de notre culture. Si vous avez des lunettes sur le nez, personne ne les remarque. Mais si vous dévoyez l’usage, si vous commencez à manger vos lunettes, alors elles deviennent visibles. Dans mon film, un personnage prie Michael Jordan. Les spectateurs vont se demander : comment ça, Michael Jordan est un dieu ? Mais alors, qu’est-ce qu’un dieu ?”

Plus qu’un courant esthétique

L’année 2018 a marqué un nouveau tournant majeur dans l’histoire de l’afrofuturisme : avec la sortie en salles du blockbuster de Marvel Black Panther, adapté du comic de Jack Kirby, le terme réclame discrètement sa place dans la culture de masse. Succès planétaire, diffusion mondiale, casting et équipe de production presque uniquement afro-descendantes : à tout prendre, c’est déjà une avancée. Mais il y a plusieurs mais. Là où Black Panther aurait pu propager des discours afrofuturistes, il a en réalité fait long feu : la version finale est un film manichéen, avec des personnages stéréotypés, vidé de tout discours radical ou de remise en cause du système. “Au sein du mouvement afrofuturiste, nous étions nombreux à penser que Killmonger est le vrai héros”, note l’universitaire américain Reynaldo Anderson, fondateur du Black Speculative Thought Movement : “c’est lui qui mène une révolution contre la monarchie à la française, où on coupe la tête du pouvoir pour changer le système. T'Challa, le roi, est un simple réformateur libéral”.

Afrofuturisme 3.0

Ironie du sort pour un courant qui a tant à coeur d’aider les Afrodescendants à définir leur identité : l’afrofuturisme a du mal à figer la sienne. Une lacune que Mark Dery reconnaît, voire revendique : “Plusieurs générations de jeunes théoriciens ont réinterprété ma définition de l’afrofuturisme, ce qui est très positif. L’afrofuturisme est comme une girouette : c’est un courant qui pointe vers plusieurs directions au même moment.” Cela correspond d’ailleurs à son idée initiale, qui est que “la culture Africaine-Américaine a toujours trouvé des moyens de réécrire les messages de la culture blanche dominante”. Mais ce n’est pas la porte ouverte à tous les excès. Après tout, l’enjeu est de taille : “La théorie afrofuturiste a un rôle à jouer pour révéler à quel point les discours futuristes sont racistes”.

Tandis que des universitaires comme Reynaldo Anderson font des efforts pour cadrer le courant, d’autres utilisent le terme à tort et à travers, quitte à coller l’étiquette sur n’importe quelle oeuvre d’art produite par un artiste de couleur, voire en relation avec l’Afrique. Dès l’origine, pointe Reynaldo Anderson, “lorsque Mark Dery a parlé du manque de science fiction noire, il n’en connaissait pas beaucoup. Cela faisait 150 ans que des auteurs noirs participaient au genre”. Mais il y a une distinction cruciale à établir entre la science-fiction, un “conflit de famille entre européens, centré sur le progrès” et la fiction noire spéculative (Black Speculative Fiction, en version originale), qui a une visée programmatique tournée vers la liberté. “Je pense que Mark Dery a bien décrit ce qu’il voyait. Ce que j’ai voulu forger, avec l’Afrofuturisme 2.0, c’est un cadre explicitement philosophique”, continue Reynaldo Anderson. Selon le père de l’Afrofuturisme 2.0, le courant ne tiendra pas après 2025. Une myriade de nouvelles tendances sont en train d’émerger, et pourraient bien s’unir sous la bannière de l’afrofuturisme 3.0, avec pour point commun d’être portées principalement par des artistes et des penseurs originaires d’Afrique.

Jede Party benötigt zunächst natürlich Einladungskarten, um die Gäste darauf aufmerksam zu machen. Besonders in einem Universum, das erfüllt von fantastischen Fabelwesen ist, bieten sich eine Vielzahl an Möglichkeiten. Gestalte eine Einladung, die wie ein Spiellevel aus Mario Odyssey aussieht und schreibe die wichtigsten Daten in einer Pixelschrift hinein. So sieht es aus, als hätte man wirklich einen Screenshot direkt aus dem Spiel gemacht.

Selbstverständlich lässt sich diese Idee mit nahezu jedem Spiel für die Nintendo Switch umsetzen. Auch Donkey Kong, Pokémon oder Rayman liefern hier tolle Vorlagen.

• Woo-hoo, du bist eingeladen! Komm am xx.xx.xxxx um xx zu uns und feiere ein paar Stunden. Für Gesundheit und Mana sorgen nicht bloß grüne oder blaue Tränke. Auch eine Vielzahl anderer, leckerer Snacks wartet dort auf dich. Natürlich wird auch eine Runde auf der Nintendo Switch gespielt.

So dekorierst du die Party

Von Kirby und Mario findet man bei nahezu jedem Luftballonhändler ein paar schöne, dreidimensionale Exemplare. Diese, kombiniert mit ein paar Luftschlangen sowie sternförmigen Luftballons, ergeben bereits eine schöne Grundlage für die gelungene Mottoparty. Bunte Bilder in ebenso mehrfarbigen Bilderrahmen können als Namensschilder für den Esstisch dienen, während dir auch bei der Gestaltung des Buffets eine Vielzahl an Möglichkeiten gegeben sind, um die Charaktere aus aktuellen Spielen für die Nintendo Switch zum Leben zu erwecken:

• Babybel wird mit rotem und weißem Karton zur Mütze von Mario – fertige gleich ein paar davon an und lege sie auf einem Tablett bereit. Da dieser Käse von einer Wachsschicht umgeben ist, macht es nichts, wenn du einen Superkleber zur Hilfe nimmst. Dieser sickert dabei nicht zu ihm durch. • Ein Sternausstecher hilft dir dabei, Kekse vorzubereiten, die wie jenes Upgrade aus Super Mario aussieht, das den Spieler für kurze Zeit unbesiegbar macht. Mittels Zuckerschrift kannst du sie alle gelb färben und ihnen längliche, schwarze Augen mit einem weißen Punkt verpassen. • Mit verschiedenen Gemüsesorten kannst du die beliebten Blumen aus dem Land von Mario nachempfinden. Scheiben von Salatgurken stellen den Stängel dar, während du die Blüte selbst mit Hilfe von gelbem Paprika, Zuckerkarotten und kleinen Kirschtomaten formen kannst. • Cake Pops in der Form beliebter Mario Superhelden sind auch stets heiß begehrt. Schließlich ist hier die Rede von Kuchen. Lecker! • Kreiere eine Torte, welche die Form einer Nintendo Switch hat und schreibe in die Mitte, an jener Stelle, an der sich das Display befindet, den Namen des Geburtstagskindes. Wenn du viel Talent dazu hast, Fondant zu formen, kannst du dies auch als Startbildschirm gestalten.

Den Hauptaufenthaltsort gestalten

Aber auch abseits der Essenspause ist es wichtig, für die nötige Stimmung zu sorgen. Bereite zum Beispiel einen Tisch vor, auf dem du alle nötigen Zusatzartikel der Nintendo Switch bereitlegst. So müssen die kleinen Helden nicht erst danach suchen und können direkt loslegen.

Es kommt dabei ganz darauf an, ob Spiele in der Gruppe bewältigt werden, oder ob nur ein Kind spielt und die anderen zusehen. In so einem Fall ist es sehr nützlich, einen Zusatzkontroller für die Spielekonsole bereitzuhalten. Letzten Endes kommt es natürlich darauf an, wie viel überhaupt vorhanden ist.

Du siehst: Wenn es um die Welt der Nintendo Switch geht, sind dir absolut keine Grenzen gesetzt.

Tortie Scouts love star gazing. that's because they know one day they will rule the universe!

1) Mango took Torty out to to teach him about constellations. Torty said he found the Big Dipper. Mango didn't have the heart to tell him the truth.

2) Lucky is too scared to go outside so he likes to imagine the stars through Trek

3) Chippy is sure he can make it on Mars. He's already learned how to grow a potato with his own poo! 4) LD has been getting space lessons from Frank. Frank says we're all doomed. Dude asks Frank if there are worms on his planet. 5) I can't see the stars because of this darn tornado!!! Hungry 6) The guys are checking in. Today they have been learning about the Moon and how binoculars help you see further. Tonight they will be testing their new skills in the field. I'm not sure if they've spotted the UFO though! Adam&Claude 7) With my telescope, I can get a really good view of my favourite stars. Well, that was until I got the letter from Brad Pitt's lawyer.... Poppy Chops

8) As he gazed in wonder at the stars this week, and being the wise tort that he is, Tubby took the sensible precaution of wearing his tinfoil hat to stop any pesky extra-terrestrials from reading his mind.
