The Capcom vs Tezuka characters art exhibit is returning in 2023!

Originally held in 2020, the 「テヅカプファイティングユニバース CAPCOM VS. 手塚治虫CHARACTERS」 "Tezukapu Fighting Universe: Capcom VS. Osamu Tezuka Characters" exhibit will be held from June 30, 2023 to October 29, 2023 at the Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum. Information about the exhibit can be viewed in the sourced link.

Text: I tried to make the guys look as cool as possible in this illustration. Even Apollo seems to manage to pull things together, as if feeling the pressure to look good when standing beside the Gavin brothers. Klavier was originally supposed to wear glasses in the courtroom and sunglasses everywhere else, making the Gavin brothers the "glasses brothers" as well, so I took this opportunity to show them the way they were meant to be. I'm usually fighting an uphill battle when it comes to art for the "Ace Attorney" series, but the simplicity of this layout allowed me to take my time with details, so I am very happy with how it turned out. I especially like Klavier here, as I was able to draw him in greater detail than I did for the screen art. (Kazuya Nuri)

There's something so bizarre about this note from Kazuya Nuri in the concept art sections of the Great Ace Attorney Chronicles in the bonuses, because, like... why can't... is someone holding you hostage and not letting you have any drawing utensils...? Did Studio Ghibli take the entire stock of paper and pencils in Japan for whatever Miyazaki is up to next...? What do you mean you'd "like to" draw that "one day"? Why don't you just... do it?

I mean, why didn't you just give them hats in this actual artwork from the game if it's such a deeply held, long term dream for you?

I suppose we’ll never know for sure, but my brother, noble hearted and kind as he is, decided that since you apparently can’t realize the dream yourself, he’ll do it for you.
