#Kashmir Pandit Genocide

Note
For that anon requesting to take down the post of Kashmiri Pandits.
For 32 years, the Kashmiri Pandits are fighting for their rights and they have always been left unheard by the successive governments. There is lot of politics involved, which i suggest please watch the film, and go through the articles. Everyone is caring about how that community/religion will feel being targeted but no one is discussing about the Kashmiri Pandit's sentiments.
I am not that type of person who would target the whole community for a section of people who were responsible for genocide. But, I would say, those people who were masterminds, are still roaming freely after commiting so many heinous crimes.
If that anon feels bad, please see facts and if possible don't undermine the ones who have been ostracised for so long.
Hi there,
It was not my intention to target any particular community. And that is what exactly I have been explaining I most of the asks, the post is solely about Kashmiri Pandits and their exile
Most people don't even who was Girija Tiku. But if they learn the details, they would understand that it is not about Islamophobia. It is about a humanitarian crisis.

If BJP actually cared about the pandits then why did Amit Shah not visit the Kashmiri pandits, who were protesting for more than 200 days demanding relocation, when he visited the Jammu region?
The truth is that all political parties use us pandits for their political agendas and spreading communal hatred in valley and eventually killing the 'Kashmiriyat'.
Honestly, I’m going to agree with you and say that Shah should have visited the protestors. As a envoy for the GoI that’s his duty. Kashmiri Pandits are unhappy with the LG and how he is treating them, and as a UT central government is all they can turn to. For a government rallying for the rights of Kashmiri Pandits, they are not doing what they are expected to by the fearful KPs.
But no, I do not agree with the fact that they do not outright care for Kashmiri Pandits, and the reason for that lies in the visit itself:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After every attack spree, Shah held meetings and assessed the security.
Tumblr media
The government is not doing a good job addressing the plighted, I will agree, but it is still doing its job in addressing the cause, so I will not go ahead and call it outright uncaring.
Yet that is just my viewpoint, and this is a sensitive issue, so if the Kashmiri Hindus feel like what has been done is not enough, then it is their call.
But yeah, whatever his reasons be, I do think he should have met with the protesting Pandits. They have a tragic history with betrayal, and the last thing they need is another government forsaking them.
But I will still not put it on the same pedestal as “other governments” because the Kashmir under Congress and the Kashmir under BJP are still as different as night and day, and you know that well. The terrorist activity has dipped, and Kashmiri Hindus are actually being given a thought. There is a reason you will see Kashmiri Hindus holding slogans like “We love you Modiji” even while protesting against the LG that GoI appointed.
And please, instead of sugar coating them as communal clashes, lets just call them what they are: attacks against Kashmiri hindus. It is not a communal clash when one group is simply dying and fleeing.
Oh, and a Kashmiriyat that faded away all eight times in the thousand year history of genocide, that could not save the people from being forced out of their homes, from being killed, from being brutally raped, allow me to say ki bhaad mein jaye aisi Kashmiriyat.

A note: I know annoying Desis are going to see this and go "Oh but Kashmir is Pakistan's because-" and "Kashmir is an integral part of India because-". I must make my stance clear: Kashmir belongs to the Kashmiris, the natives, no matter what religion they belong to. Neither Pakistan nor India get to decide the matter of Kashmiri sovereignty. The reasons given by both parties as to why Kashmir should be a part of either nation are bullshit. The United Nations itself recognises Kashmir as a disputed region, so I will not entertain dumbfuckery. I highly encourage fellow Indians especially to take the time to go through and properly understand the violence the government enacts on Kashmiris. I've also included links to learn more about Kashmiri culture because really, what do the rest of us know about it? Culturally and linguistically Kashmir differs so much from the rest of India and Pakistan (also the amount of fetishization of Kashmiri women...yikes). This is not just a bilateral issue between these two nations over land, this actually affects the people of Kashmir. And if you're still here, thank you for reading

Let's talk about the idolized Aurangzeb. What he did and why is he considered great?
Tumblr media
We will be focusing on the destruction of temples and hindu genocide done by him to debunk claims deny that this.
By the order of Aurangzeb (1645 AD) according to Mirãt-i-Ahmadî, Temple of Chintaman situated close to Sarashpur (Gujarat) and built by Sitaldas jeweller was converted into a mosque named Quwwat-ul-lslam (might of Islam) (1645 AD.) A cow was slaughtered to 'solemnize' the 'ceremony'.
Slaughtering a cow was a heinous choice, cow being one of the holiest animal in Hinduism. As well as, Hinduism prohibits animal slaughter, to do it right where their place of worship used to be where now stands a Mosque was simply to mock and destroy the souls of the indigenous population. The Pandits and Cows were always their main targets.
This was done before he even became the king, he was just a prince at this point.
When he became the king he sent Mir Jumla on an expedition to Cooch Bihar. Mir Jumla demolished ALL temples in that city and erected mosques in their stead. The general himself wielded a battle-axe to break the image of Narayana.
Mirãt-i-Ahmadî continues, In 1666 AD, he ordered the faujdar of Mathura to remove a stone railing which had been presented by Dara Shukoh to the temples of Keshav Rai. He explained: “In the Muslim faith it is a sin even to look at a temple and this Dara had restored a railing in a temple!”
You can still argue that Islamic Colonization simply had a political motif and not a religious one, if that would have been the case, none of the indigenous people would have been harmed, none of them would have been forcefully converted, their heritage would not have been destroyed right in front of their eyes, their schools and texts would have been burned. This is downright evil and was done in the name of Allah by all the Mughal tyrants.
“The richly jewelled idols taken from the infidel temples were transferred to Agra and placed beneath the steps leading to the Nawab Begum Sahib's (Jahanara's) mosque in order that they might be “pressed under foot by the true believers”. Mathura changed its name into Islamabad and was thus called in all official documents.”
In the same year, Sita Ram ji temple at Soron was destroyed as also the shrine of Devi Patan at Gonda. News came from Malwa also that the local governor had sent 400 troopers to destroy all temples around Ujjain.
According to Muraqat-i-Abul Hasan, civil officers, agents of jagirdars, karoris and amlas from Cuttack in Orissa to Medinipur in Bengal were instructed as follows:
“Every idol house built during the last 10 or 12 years' should be demolished without delay. Also, do not allow the crushed Hindus and despicable infidels to repair their old temples. Reports of the destruction of temples should be sent to the court under the seal of the qazis and attested by pious Shaikhs.”
(1672 AD) several thousand Satnamis were slaughtered near Narnaul in Mewat for which act of 'heroism' Radandaz Khan was tided Shuja'at Khan with the mansab of 3000 and 2000 horse.
(1675 AD) Guru Tegh Bahadur was tortured to death for his resistance against the forcible conversion of the Hindus of Kashmir. The destruction of gurudwaras thereafter is a well-known story which our secularists have succeeded in suppressing because the Akali brand Sikhs have been forging ties of friendship with Islam as against their parent faith, Hindu Dharma.
Mirãt-i-Ahmadî goes ahead: “On 6th January 1680 A.D. Prince Mohammad Azam and Khan Jahan Bahadur obtained permission to visit Udaipur. Ruhullah Khan and Yakkattaz Khan also proceeded thither to effect the destruction of the temples of the idolators. These edifices situated in the vicinity of the Rana's palace were among the wonders of the age, and had been erected by the infidels to the ruin of their souls and the loss of their wealth”. Pioneers destroyed the images. On 24th January the king visited the tank of Udayasagar.
His Majesty ordered all three of the Hindu temples to be levelled with the ground. On 29th January Hasan AN Khan made his appearance' and stated that “172 temples in the neighbouring districts had been destroyed.” His Majesty proceeded to Chitor on 22nd February.
Temples to the number of 63 were destroyed. Abu Tarab who had been commissioned to effect the destruction of idol temples of Amber, reported in person on 10th August that 66 temples had been levelled to the ground.’ The temple of Someshwar in western Mewar was also destroyed at a later date in the same year. It may be mentioned that unlike Jodhpur and Udaipur, Amber was the capital of a state loyal to the Mughal emperor.
Khafi Khan records in his Muntakhab-ul-Lubab: ‘On the capture of Golconda, the Emperor appointed Abdur Rahim Khan as censor of the city of Haiderabad with orders to put down infidel practices and innovations, and destroy the temples and build mosques on the sites.’ That was in 1687 AD. In 1690 AD, he ordered destruction of temples at Ellora, Trimbakeshwar, Narasinghpur, and Pandharpur.
Aurangzeb also destroyed, Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Kashi, Uttar Pradesh - which considered as the most scared hindu temple and land.
In 1698 AD, the story was repeated at Bijapur. According to Mirat-i-AhmadT: 'Hamidud-din Khan Bahadur who had been deputed to destroy the temples of Bijapur and build mosques there, returned to court after carrying out the order and was praised by the Emperor.' As late as 1705 AD, two years before he died, 'the emperor, summoning Muhammad Khalil and Khidmat Rai, the darogha of hatchet-men' ordered them to demolish the temple of Pandharpur, and to take the butchers of the camp there and slaughter cows in the temple.' Cow-slaughter at a temple site was a safeguard against Hindus rebuilding it on the same spot.
The saddest part is, all of this information, the bloodiest part of Indian History is never shown to the people, they grow up learning, Mughals were great emperors that built great things. When none of that holds any ounce of truth. It should be said without any censorship, these tyrants destroyed the culture, tradition and religions of India.
With all this information, if you're still defending these tyrants, if you still "want them around", if you still insist "it wasn't that bad", you absolutely do not care about "human rights", every activism you take part in is just performative. And I do not respect you or your opinion on any social issue.

BJP didn't destroy a mosque there was previously a Ram Mandir that Babar destroyed in own Ram birth place after 500 years BJP made the Mandir
And in Kashmir all of Hindu pandits were killed they forced a mother to eat her husband bodies if she didn't they would kill her children's and they were killed and they did more horrible things
And don't forget about The Kerala Files
There are constantly terrorist attacks in India from Pakistan like the attack on Delhi or Mumabi and the taj hotel
Or the Kashmir were they are bombing it
Or the news were we keep hearing that Hindu girls are cutted in pieces and kept in freezer
Girl... look me in the eye and be so fr, tell me dead ass that Hindus haven't committed more crimes against Muslims. Actually, if you're a BJP supporter, just- leave. Hate NM, so there's no point in talking sense into his followers.
And yeah, you've mentioned a lot of crimes against Hindus and yeah, it's very wrong and terrible what happened to them, but what about crimes against Indian Muslims??? Or they don't count because they're a religious minority aka second class citizen.
Tumblr media
NOT TO MENTION THE BIGGEST CRIME OF ALL- Indians- of which many are Hindus- are going to Israel to work at this point in time- which would end up in supporting the Palestinian genocide.
AND YOU KEEP MENTIONING PAKISTAN- omg why are Indians so obsessed with making Pakistanis look bad??? Like there's so many bollywood movies where Pakistanis are the bad guys. It's like Hollywood's version of making Germans and Russians the villain every single time.
Don't even get me started on Kashmir. Do not-

so someone wrote the following tags on this post of mine (a story about my great grandmother and colonialism) and the tags have nothing to do with the original goal of the post. but since i was singled out for some reason, i’ll respond.
Tumblr media
i’m sorry to break it to you but hinduphobia IS real. last navratri bangladeshi hindus had their temples demolished and their houses burned down. it is estimated that in 30 years there will be no more hindus left in bangladesh.
and there WAS a hindu genocide in kashmir. regardless of whether you’re left or right wing it should not be hard to discern that the exodus of kashmiri pandits in january 1990 was caused by a threat of genocide. they were told to flee, convert, or die. and so callously putting hindu genocide under quotes erases their trauma and experience. that’s why i defended the kashmir files. it did what it set out to do - give a voice to the kashmiri pandits once and for all. if you want to talk about the politics of the movie then find someone else. i don’t know much about indian politics to talk about it so i’d rather not say anything than say something damagingly ignorant, but i do know enough about kashmiri pandits and have seen enough of their survivor accounts to say that it was very clear that this was ethnic cleansing. my beauty parlor aunty herself is a refugee.
LASTLY as someone who has herself experienced bullying because of her hindu identity in america, it is incredibly ignorant, dare i say privileged, of you to say that hinduphobia is not a “genuine phenomenon.” i was made fun of for my bindi and was taunted by a classmate to eat beef. one time a white girl in preschool refused to play with me because i was both brown skinned and hindu. and there was a fucking GANG in jersey in the 1970′s called the dotbusters that SPECIFICALLY TARGETED HINDU WOMEN. please do not forget that even if hindus are a majority in india, they are ethnic, racial, and religious minorities in the rest of the world. so yes, hinduphobia is real. damn i wish it weren’t. but it is. and it is a desi issue. so i WILL tag this as hinduphobia AND desiblr. that’s all

ok. rrr is the first and only indian movie i have seen in my life. do you have any recs for movies like it? or just movies you like? i trust your taste and my summer is long.
Ofc! Here's a list of some of my favorites:
Telugu
Magadheera (2009)
One of SS Rajamouli's older works and Ram Charan and Kajal absolutely stole my heart in this one. The music is still the loml and it actually also had MM Keeravani directing music
Harsha is falsely implicated for killing Indu's father and she too is kidnapped. But Harsha and Indu share a bond from a previous life, and when he realises this, he sets out to set things straight.
Jai Lava Kusa (2017)
This is one of my all time favorite NTR Jr. movies and he actually plays a triple role (identical triplets)
Identical triplets, Jai, Lava and Kusa, get separated at a young age and follow different paths in life. Jai becomes an evil criminal, Kusa becomes a small-time crook and Lava becomes a bank manager.
Dear Comrade (2019)
TW: sexual assault
This is a movie I hold rly rly close to my heart A) cuz Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika are love and B) the plot was so important especially near the climax.
A hot-headed student union leader falls in love with a state-level cricketer; but soon, his anger issues become a roadblock on his way to unite with her.
Shyam Singha Roy (2021)
If I were ever to marry anyone, Shyam is my template for that person. I absolutely loved Nani's depiction of Shyam and Sai Pallavi's Rosie. Also reincarnation but there's a twist
Vasu is a director who left his former job to make films. His girlfriend is set to play the lead role, but when she is molested and Vasu is accused of committing plagiarism, the young couple's fortunes take a turn for the worse.
EDIT: I'm dumb. I forgot to add Baahubali 1 and 2 (2015 and 2017) which is a must watch and one of the first major modern Pan-India movies
Hindi
The Kashmir Files (2022)
If you're going to watch a Hindi movie, make it this one. This tells the unheard story of the genocide of millions of Kashmiri Pandits by Islamic Terrorists and this genocide has taken place time and time again with absolutely zero media attention.
Shush Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan (2020)
I couldn't have left a list of Indian movies I made in Pride Month without mentioning this movie could I? Ayushmann Khurrana is one of my favorite Hindi actors and the representation in this movie was solid imo. Tbh I live for the song Mere Liye Tum Kaafi Ho in this movie
When two men, Kartik and Aman, fall in love with each other, they face opposition from Aman's family but they attempt to win them over.
3 Idiots (2009)
This one is a classic and works to reverse the mindset a lot of Indian students have to deal with where life = studying and parents' expectations without real time for themselves. As a student it was relatable to me and again, it was fucking hilarious.
In college, Farhan and Raju form a great bond with Rancho due to his positive and refreshing outlook to life. Years later, a bet gives them a chance to look for their long-lost friend whose existence seems rather elusive.
Shershaah (2021)
A biopic of the real life Vikram Batra, I absolutely fell in love with this movie and rediscovered my love for Siddharth Malhotra (the main actor). The music for this movie >>>>
The life of Indian army captain Vikram Batra, awarded with the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest award for valour for his actions during the 1999 Kargil War.
Tamil
Heads up: I don't actually speak Tamil (not well anyways) so I'm just listing movies I saw and liked but I haven't actually seen as many as w telugu/hindi
3 (2012)
I think this intensified my love for Dhanush by about 10000. The music is why Anirudh Ravichander is one of my absolute favorite Indian singers
Ram and Janani are high school sweethearts who eventually get married; however, Janani is mystified when Ram commits suicide all of a sudden and she tries to find out the truth behind his death.
Theri (2016)
And the other love of my life, Vijay Thalapathy. I think this is the first movie of his that I saw with my friend and I honestly got pissed at her for gatekeeping him for so long so that should tell you a lot
When his daughter's life is endangered by a local gang, a man will do whatever it takes to stop them; however, at the same time, his dangerous past slowly resurfaces.
Wow ok this is a lot longer than I intended and I was just getting started lmao but hopefully you find something interesting. If anyone else wants to add other movies feel free to rb, comment and obv feel free to add more languages.

I finally managed to watch The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story. Hard movies to stomach, but movies that everyone should watch, especially Indians.
I was a kid when the Kashmiri pandit genocide happened, still, the memory remains clear in my mind. My parents had helped some of those families, especially in educating their kids. However, the generation that came after me, even my sister's age group, who is 7 years younger to me, don't know about this genocide and exodus (at least the majority didn't know, not until this movie came out). So it's a good thing that movies like this are getting made. They're showing things which had been suppressed for years.
Same with the Kerala story. (I've actually listened to accounts of people from Kerala, friends and acquaintances, who have experienced similar things to the events depicted in the movie.)
So I'm glad that such movies are being made, even though they're hard to watch.

Really don't understand how u are calling out muslims for genocide when hindus are literally doing the exact same thing to kashmiris right now. This is comming from a hindu btw, but the indian millitary for years has been killing innocent people in azad kashmir. I don't see enough people talk about that, especially considering how most indian actors/actresses are warmongers, encouraging the killings of innocent.
Warnings - Not for those who cannot digest facts.
First of all, stop making this a communal thing. People love to polarize, don't they?
Second, learn your facts. Kashmir is an integral part of India, the then ruler of Kashmir willingly signed to join India in 1947. The issue was taken to the UN by the then PM , Nehru.
Either you are too ignorant or too involved in propaganda. I don't want to go into geopolitics but it's important to go check that facts, from sources other than certain propogatory media. The same media that did not cover the Kashmiri Pandit Genocide.
The post was about Kashmiri Pandit Genocide, not to smear any community. If you can't digest fact- no matter your religion. That's your problem.
For all those crying for Human Rights in Kashmir, go and learn about the 32 years of exile of Kashmiri Pandits. I don't care about your religion. It is a humanitarian crisis. Stop making it about religions. Learn about the country's history with such forces.

While in a swift move, SC granted respite to the demolition of 4000 encroached houses, the same SC refused to entertain the plea into the investigation of the genocide of 7-lakh Hindus who were rendered homeless on the fateful night of 19 January 1990. The constitution and the laws of Bharat pledge allegiance to the truth however, it seems the quick delivery of justice in this country is guaranteed to the ones who have a solid backing of the political power. Kashmir Files
The Kashmir files is an emotionally triggering, docudrama that tracks the tragic exodus of Kashmiri pandits from the state of Jammu & Kashmir, their homeland in the 1980s. The writer and director of the film Vivek Agnihotri attempt to provide an alternate view and narrative about the long-festering Kashmir issue. The film is based on testimonies of the people scarred for generations by the insurgency in the state. The Director presents the unfortunate exodus as a full-scale genocide of Kashmiri Pandits akin to the Jew holocaust and the massacre of partition at the time of India’s independence. It is the Director’s grouse that the previous governments and left-leaning intellectual lobby deliberately kept away the genocide away from the public on account of political, vested interests.
The film contains some compelling performances delivered by  Anupam Kher(AK), Pallavi Joshi(PJ), Darshan Kumar (DK), Mithun Chakraborthy (MC) and others. Here, Krishna (DK) a Pandit and student of a JNU kind of university have been tutored by the leftist liberal teacher Radhika (PJ) into believing that secessionist movement like freedom of India. It is only when he visits the valley upon the death of his grandfather, Pushkar Nath (AK) that he is revealed the ‘real’ story of religious terrorism in Kashmir and the sufferings of the Pandits, who were left to die at the hands of the Kashmiri terrorists by the state and central governments.
Based on documented reports, the film shows the brutality faced by Pandits because of their religion.  The camera work is excellent and successfully captures the dark brooding shades of the troubled valley in graphic detail. Agnihotri seems to have looked at the past from the prism of present circumstances. Vivek Agnihotri may be accused of opening old wounds. He gets the Kashmir militancy and partisan politics to the forefront. Reopening old wounds may not offer a solution but then healing can only happen once the trauma is accepted.
