Anyways. This is deeply painful but I legitimately think that Taka was better for Sasuke than team 7, at least at the time. I think that Sasuke's dynamic with Taka and its members just helped him more. Having people like Suigetsu, Karin, and Jūgo around were what he needed. People who didn't care about Konoha, who weren't trying to tell him what to do or that he was making mistakes, and people who just stuck by him because they felt that was what they had to.

People who were just fucked up too. Who knew what it was like to have lost everything and who knew what it was like to want to take revenge. People who had dealt with Orochimaru and who knew what it was like to want to take power back.

Team 7 couldn't be what he needed at the time no matter how much he loved them and they loved him because they had such opposing goals and viewpoints at the time. Sasuke couldn't be what they needed and they couldn't be what Sasuke needed just because of what they had going on.

And it pains me greatly <3

I am really sad that Team Taka (minus Sasuke) didn't get cool new official blank period outfits like the other characters. Especially since most characters looked the best then. Especially the hair!

Thinking about the Naruto anime and how much of a complete mess it is in regards to Karin's backstory and abilities.

First, the anime creates a backstory by having her never known Sasuke before a mission while working under Orochimaru and crushing on him only because of his Chakra, likely within the same year he killed Orochimaru judging by their ages and designs. ...The manga shows they met years prior, during the Chunin exams before she went with Oro and she fell in love with Sasuke because he saved her life.

Then, during the War arc in the manga, Karin unleashes the Adamantite Chains explicitly for the very first time because she wanted to reach and save Sasuke. ...The anime made a filler story where she is shown using this ability to attack and capture Suigetsu while working under Orochimaru, creating a massive plothole about why she didn't just use the chains against Killer Bee when we already know it can restrain Tailed Beasts.

The 3rd databook, released before the Land of Iron arc, has Karin's backstory be that the village she lived in was attacked and completely destroyed by an unknown army, with her being the only survivor. Orochimaru approached her among the village's wreckage and asked her to join him because he was impressed by her Sensory skills, and she went because she recognized Sasuke, tying into the manga backstory later on. The manga also heavily implies her Heal Bite is the result of Orochimaru's experiments on her Uzumaki DNA and chakra, and lightly hints that she was sexually abused as a teenager by him. ...The anime changed her abilities and backstory to make the Heal Bite hereditary, made the sexual abuse far more apparent and happen at a far younger age, had her and her mother move from town to town before her mother died from the same abuse, made Orochimaru be her savoir from two guys in a different village, and made it so she never met Sasuke again until not long before he killed Orochimaru while already in love with him, which also contradicts the previous anime-only backstory!
