The Plan so far
So, this blog was a very spontaneous idea I had yesterday (very late in the evening). So I took some time to think it through today, as well as get some more lists from other Fanders.
The plan now is to first create lists for the separate facets of the Thomas Sanders fandom, i.e. Sanders Sides, Shorts Characters, Cartoon Therapy and Roleslaying with Roman. (I'm sorry that this means I need to split up Remy and Emile for now, we'll get to crossovers later.)
For that to work, I need a comprehensive list of characters first. So this is my call for your help! I'll put a list of who I got so far after the cut and you can reply to this post or send me an ask about more characters I can/should include!
I'm really happy with the positive reactions I got for creating this blog, thank you for your support! 💗💙💖💙💜💛💚
Sanders Sides:
Patton
Roman
Logan
Virgil
Janus
Remus
Orange
Thomas
Nico
King
Dragon Witch (unsure if I should include her but if I do, this is where she'll be)
I know King is most commonly used as a sort of fusion of Roman and Remus but for the purposes of this list, I will see him as an entirely separate character and as such include ships between him and Roman and/or Remus.
Shorts Characters
Remy - Sleep
Teal/Teagan - Teacher
Dayd - Dad
Pryce - Prince
Andy - Anxiety
Dice/Anton/Cedric - The Critic
Linda - Thomas' Cowlick
Missy - Misleading Compliments
Nathan - Crimefighter Dude
Detective Sanders (from this series which I found through this post by @loganslowdown4!)
Percy/Magenta - Printer
Harley/Hart - Heart
Immy - Immune System
Brian - Brain
Dean - Denial
Sabina - Spam Bot
Ishmael - Ice Machine
Jasper - GPS
Scot - Scam Likely
Wieland - WIP
Phaelan - Phone
Fane - Fan
Steven - Electric Stapler
Ace - Action Hero that can't catch things
Rian - Rain
Mike - Microwave
Nessy - Illness
Apollo - Sun
Jericho - Moon
Taz / Tucker - Task
Bouce/Boucy - The Bouncing Ball
Anton - Antagonist
Pranks - Disney/Pokémon Pranks
Asher/Rudolph - Christmas
Jasper - Thanksgiving
Months
Jaana - January
Fabian - Feburary
Mara - March
April - April
May - May
Junie - June
Julia/Julian - July
Augusta/Augustus - August
Seth/Ember - September
Toby - October
Nove - November
Demetri/Odessa - December
Zodiacs
Ariel/Ari - Aries
Leona/Leonard/Leo - Leo
Candace/Candy - Cancer
Phillipa/Pip/Pippy - Pisces
Schuyler/Sky - Scorpio
Tara - Taurus
Sarah/Sally - Sagittarius
Caprice - Capricorn
Gemma - Gemini
Virginia/Ginny - Virgo
Liberty/Libby - Libra
Quinn - Aquarius
Cartoon Therapy (as far as I know, all the characters in this series are adults)
Emile Picani
Elliot
Mitchel (I don't actually know if that's how you spell his name)
Dot
Larry
Sloane
Corbin
Kai
Lauren
Sam
Roleslaying with Roman
Roman of Reston
Youngblood
Noise
??? (Mike)
Flow
Britney
Djembe
Bob Normie
Criss
Cross
Mother
Bard King
Ryker
There are many more characters in the series of course, but I do not know which it makes sense to include here, so please let me know! Also if there is another part of the fandom I forgot to include entirely.

1958 chevrolet bel air impala convertible
History, The Impala name was first used for the full-sized 1956 General Motors Motorama show car that bore Corvette-like design cues, especially the grille. It was named Impala after the graceful African antelope, and this animal became the car's logo. Painted emerald green metallic, with a white interior, the Impala concept car featured hardtop styling. Clare MacKichan's design team, along with designers from Pontiac, started to establish basic packaging and dimensions for their shared 1958 General Motors "A" body in June. The first styling sketch that would directly influence the finished Chevrolet automobile was seen by General Motors Styling vice president Harley Earlin October. Seven months later, the basic design was developed.
For its debut in 1958, the Impala was distinguished from other models by its symmetrical triple taillights. The Chevrolet Caprice was introduced as a top-line Impala Sport Sedan for model year 1965, later becoming a separate series positioned above the Impala in 1966, which, in turn, remained above the Chevrolet Bel Air and the Chevrolet Biscayne. The Impala continued as Chevrolet's most popular full-size model through the mid-1980s. Between 1994 and 1996, the Impala was revised as a 5.7-liter V8–powered version of the Chevrolet Caprice Classicsedan.
First generation (1958)
1For 1958, GM was promoting their fiftieth year of production, and introduced anniversary models for each brand; Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Chevrolet. The 1958 models shared a common appearance on the top models for each brand; Cadillac Eldorado Seville, Buick Roadmaster Riviera, Oldsmobile Super 88 Holiday, Pontiac Bonneville Catalina, and the #Chevrolet Bel-Air #Impala.
The Impala was introduced for the 1958 model year as top of the line Bel Air hardtops and convertibles. From the windshield pillar rearward, the 1958 Bel Air Impala differed structurally from the lower-priced Chevrolet models. Hardtops had a slightly shorter greenhouse and longer rear deck. The wheelbase of the Impala was longer than the lower priced models, although the overall length was identical. Interiors held a two-spoke steering wheel and color-keyed door panels with brushed aluminum trim. No other series included a convertible.
The 1958 Chevrolet models were longer, lower, and wider than its predecessors. The 1958 model year was the first with dual headlamps. The tailfins of the 1957 were replaced by deeply sculptured rear fenders. Impalas had three taillights each side, while lesser models had two and wagons just one. The Impalas included crossed-flag insignias above the side moldings, as well as bright rocker moldings and dummy rear-fender scoops.
The standard perimeter-type frame was abandoned, replaced by a unit with rails laid out in the form of an elongated "X." Chevrolet claimed that the new frame offered increased torsional rigidity and allowed for a lower placement of the passenger compartment. This was a transitional step between traditional construction and the later fully unitized body/chassis, the body structure was strengthened in the rocker panels and firewall. However, this frame was not as effective in protecting the interior structure in a side impact crash, as a traditional perimeter frame.
A coil spring suspension replaced the previous year's rear leaf springs, and an air ride system was optional. A 283 cu in (4,640 cc) engine was the standard V8, with ratings that ranged from 185 to 290 horsepower. A "W" block (not to be confused with the big-block) 348 cu in (5,700 cc) Turbo-Thrust V8 was optional, producing 250 hp (190 kW), 280 hp (210 kW), or 315 hp (235 kW). The Ramjet fuel injection was available as an option for the Turbo-Fire 283 V8, not popular in 1958.
A total of 55,989 Impala convertibles and 125,480 coupes were built representing 15 percent of Chevrolet production. The 1958 Chevrolet Bel Air Impala helped Chevrolet regain the number one production spot in this recession year.

Timeline (Absent Chapuys), primary sources on Princess Mary and Catherine of Aragon
(bolded and italicized the fake news, AMA)
Augustino Scarapinello, Milanese Ambassador in England, to Francesco Sforza, Duke of Milan:
The queen still follows the king. The princess is at Richmond, and was lately very ill from what the physicians call hysteria (male de matre). London, the 20th April, 1531.
His Majesty is still staying at Greenwich, engaged in his customary diversions of the bow and the chase. They say that the queen will go to Windsor in six days. The buildings begun at Westminster keep growing. The princess is at Richmond with a respectable (honesta) court. She has been very ill these last days, so that they had to let blood; the trouble being with her womb (et per causa di matrice). She is now well and tall and wise beyond her years. London, the 5th June, 1531.
The king remains some 25½ miles away, engaged in his honourable diversions of hunting and other exercises. The queen is at Windsor and the day before yesterday the princess went to visit her.
Moreover, as the English king has left the queen at Windsor, some think that he does not mean to take her back again. However, we shall soon see the truth. London, the 25th July, 1531.
Camillo Gilino, Milanese Ambassador with the Emperor, to Francesco Sforza, Duke of Milan:
Worse news comes from England every day about the illbehaviour of the king to the queen. She is most patient and behaves with great prudence to show that it is not her doing. It is thought that the matter will lead to a rupture, more serious than has hitherto occurred, as all those affairs are controlled by the caprice of a mistress and her father. Brussels, the 16th August, 1531.
Sanuto:
The Princess is much beloved by her father, who does not make any demonstration against the Queen — always treats her with respect, and occasionally dines with her. (August 1531)
El Gilino, Milanese Ambassador to the Emperor, to Francesco Sforza, Duke of Milan:
Scarpinello writes to me on the 28th that the king had indicated one of three places, which he does not name, twenty miles from London, for the queen to choose for her residence
Brussels, the 11th November, 1531.
The Queen is of low stature, rather stout (grassetta) with a modest countenance (di faccia onesta); she is virtuous, just, replete with goodness and religion; she speaks Spanish, Flemish, French, and English; she is beloved by the islanders more than any Queen that ever reigned; she is about forty-five years old, having lived thirty years in England, from the time of her first marriage. By the present Henry, she had two sons and one daughter. The eldest son died at the age of six months, the younger immediately after his christening; her daughter alone survives. She is sixteen years old; a handsome, amiable (graziosa) and very accomplished Princess, in no respect inferior to her mother.
Carlo Capello:
the King, who had not seen the Princess for more than a year, spoke with her alone for three hours, and they then went together to a very grand hunt (una bellissima caza) at which 100 bucks were killed. (September 1532)
(in contradiction, and corroboration, with Chapuys)
Sanuto:
Yesterday the Princess went to the Tower with the King; today she returns to her residence. It is hoped the affair will pass quietly. (December 1532)
Zorzi Andreasio, Milanese Ambassador at Rome, to Francesco Sforza, Duke of Milan:
Your Excellency may have heard that the first queen has been ordered no longer to call herself Queen of England, and the people are told no longer to honour or recognise her as queen, as she is deprived of everything pertaining to that rank. Rome, the 1st July, 1533.
By letters of the Queen of England it is understood that they have taken away all her servants, male and female, and the little silver left so far for her use. They wanted to send her to live in a private house situated in a marsh, so that the bad air might speedily end her life. She would not go, saying that God did not wish any one to go to voluntary death of their own accord; if they used force she would be patient, but they could not do it otherwise. They have given her daughter to the concubine as a maid who serves like the others of her household. Rome, the 6th February, 1534.
The ambassadors of the King of France had come back from England, and said that the parliament of England had met on the 30th of March and had confirmed the deprivation of the daughter of Queen Catherine from the Principality of Wales, with which they had invested the daughter of Queen Anne.
The king has further sent for the imperial ambassador and remained a long while in conversation with him, beyond the usual. He also gave that ambassador the power to visit the first queen frequently. The king has been once to visit his eldest daughter, a thing he had not done for a long while and stayed a long space. From what we hear he made much of her, from which it is supposed that he was also well disposed to the first queen, although he made no sign whatever of that. (April 1535)
The Empress to the Emperor:
The health of the queen of England has continued to improve. As I wrote to Your Majesty, Her Highness the Princess is doing well. (June 1535)
Lope de Soria, Imperial Ambassador at Venice, to Cardinal Caracciolo, Governor of Milan:
That king has been to visit the princess his daughter, and made her give back the clothes and jewels which she had from him. He promised to fetch her to the Court when he returned from his hunting, which will be this September.
Venice, the 17th August, 1536

My favourite entry lines/extracts from The Alan Rickman’s diaries so far. This is just the first year:
1993
June 26th
A world I know little about, sitting amongst fanatical applauding Tories. Jonas made a speech about the Arts and NHS. I wanted to cheer. The audience went a bit quiet. The quiet of dissent.
July 29th
Jurassic Park - what the hell is the plot? Great dinosaurs.
August 22nd
Walking out the Caprice to find a cab, cat and mouse with a photographer who clearly wants a ‘pissed off’ picture. He certainly has a ‘pissed off’ back of my head.
September 5th
6.10 Fly to Vienna. One of those flights. Baby crying = tense mother. Drunk English businessman = resentful stewardess etc., etc.
September 12th
‘Alan is undirectable’ - Howard Davies.
October 7th
The sound stage next to us is shooting The Neverending Story - how ironic.
October 11th
Sometimes the emotional commitment to a piece of work keeps itself invisible, often for a long time, until it is threatened - and then complete immobility happens - a kind of nervous exhaustion descends.
October 25th
Why was I dreaming about having got myself a Saturday job at Woolworth’s??
November 18th
Bailey is truely endearing even when the film breaks down. I would like to work with him. He’s bonkers.
December 9th
8 St James’s Palace in a tie. Rehearse in the taxi. A run-through - sort of. Do it. With panache. Prince of Wales is a good guy, I think. An awful lot of ‘ushering’ went on and I was steered in to meet HRH. Loathsome.
Savoy Grill with Emma. A very easy, enjoyable meal with an easy enjoyable person. She says ‘fuck’ a lot. Much laughter.
I also enjoyed random references to other actor/actresses that would be part of the HP cast one day.

Letters of Grand Duchess Maria Nikolaevna Romanova
Tumblr media
March 8, 1914. "...It was fun to bathe in your bathroom, I enjoyed myself like a pug-dog, and, of course, I did "business" in your "OO". It was not very comfortable and rather cold as the lid was opened but I did not notice it. The water reached my shoulders - not in the "OO" but in the bathroom... Mother and Tatiana are playing "halma". The window in the bedroom is opened and there is a draught from the door and we can hear Gulyga..."
Sept. 20, 1914, "...Now I am writing to you in the bathroom. Liza is combing my hair and Tatiana is washing herself behind the curtain..."
Nov. 19, 1914, "...It's 2 p.m. now. Mother is lying on the couch and writing a letter to you and Anastasia is writing to Aunt Olga... I always sit in your arm-chair at tea- time... Aleksey is resting upstairs after breakfast... I am happy that we'll have no lessons on Friday because of the holiday. It's such fun..."
Apr. 5, 1915, "...The concert in Maria's and Anastasia's hospital was a great success. De La Zari was very good and told a lot of funny stories. Then a lady in a sarafan danced a Russian folk dance. (She was rather affected). My Demenkov (Demenkov was an officer, Maria's favorite) was a dear and he introduced all the actors to us. Little Shvybzik (Anastasia's dog) has just done the "Governor" on Mother's carpet and Anastasia is now trying to teach him how to behave..."
Apr. 8, 1915, "...I am now sitting near Mother's bed in which she is lying. Olga and Tatiana are reading. Aleksey wanted to sleep in your place today and told Mother that he wanted to play her husband. Yesterday he ate too many dry bread crusts and inthe evening he was sent right to Derevenko...(a sailor, Alexey's dyadka)... After dinner Mother and I played "colorito". Now she is reading an English book..."
Apr. 18, 1915, "...We have just finished dinner. Aleksey has come to Mother's to pray. Sisters are sorting out the flowers sent from Livadia by the Yanovs. Mother is trying to send Anastasia to bed but she is desperately trying to find Shvybzik which is missing. Everybody is calling him but he would not come, merzavets. He was found at last 10 minutes later. We all thought that he was under the sofa. Mother started to bark and Shvybzik answered. he appeared to be sitting under Mother's couch and we all put a great effort in pulling him out of there. I continue writing next morning at 8 a.m. I've just drawn back the curtain and was delighted to see that it was 19 degrees above zero in the sun. Alexey has come into our bedroom and is now lying in my bed and is playing with Anastasia and Shvybzik. Sisters are still sleeping. Shvybzik is squeaking. I think, he wants to see the "Governor". He has done it already and Anastasia has run in with a small shovel and took it away..."
June 19,1915, "...Aleksey goes fishing with a fishing-rod to the pond almost every day. Yesterday my Kolya (Demenkov) and Sapozhnikov were on duty. Anastasia and I kindly talked to them through the open window. Olga and I sat on the window-sill under the balcony today and watched the soldiers play draughts..."
Aug. 30, 1915, "...The four of us are now lying in the arm-chairs with our legs on the chairs. Olga is knitting a stocking. Anastasia is sorting out the old letters; Tatiana is reading poetry. The morning we were at the service. We had breakfast in the balcony with Sonya. In the afternoon we went for a drive and visited the cemetery. A small church is being built there..."
Sept. 5, 1915, "...We are drinking tea now. We had a very nice walk. N.D. (Nickolai Dmitrievich Demenkov - an officer of the Guards' Crew. Maria was in love with him.) was on duty and we talked nicely through the open window. We went as far as the "caprice" and climbed the stairs, do you know? And as soon as we reached it Olga took her umbrella and rushed furiously at one of the windows and broke three glasses with her umbrella and I broke another window, then Anastasia did the same thing... Olga is reading a newspaper now and Mother is talking to Anya..."
Sept. 19, 1915, "...We always have dinner upstairs now in the playroom. It's very cosy, I think. After dinner Mother, Aleksey, me and Vladimir Nickolayevich (Derevenko, a doctor) or Mr. Gilliard usually play the game which we call "The slower you go the sooner your reach your destination". It's fun because you can"eat" the others. We played this game last year in our hospital..."
Oct. 31, 1915, "...I am writing to you from my bedroom. We've just had tea. Sisters are still at Mother's. In the morning we had classes and in the afternoon we went for a drive with Nastenka (Hendrikova). I was in our hospital with Anastasia and she took some pictures of the wounded officers... An English woman had breakfast with us the other day. She had come to Petrograd to organize an English hospital in Dmitry's house..."
Nov. 5, 1915, "...I see Nickolai Dmitrievich only in the church. Now I am sitting in my bedroom. Liza is lighting the icon lamps and Olga is writing something in the next room. Her bedroom became very comfortable when they put a couch there... I think, we are going to Anya tonight. Grigory will be there, too. We spent the whole evening upstairs because of Olga and had tea there, too. Olga is crying out now because she almost upset her ink-pot and her fingers are dirty with ink and she doesn't want to write any longer..."
March 14, 1916, "...Nickolai Dmitrievich Demenkov left on Saturday. I talked to him over the telephone. He was very happy to go. Do you remember, I sewed a shirt for him? I asked him about it and he said that he liked it very much and it was just his size... I am writing to you from Orchy's room. Mother is lying on the couch and Vladimir Nickolayevich is doing the electrical treatment to her..."
March 29, 1916 "...Now I am sitting at Mother's after dinner. Anya has already come. Tatiana is playing cards and Olga is having a reprimand. Alexey and Anastasia went to bed. They had played balalaikas here and Olga had played the piano.."
Apr. 2, 1916, "...Now I am downstairs. Mother and Tatiana are playing cards. Olga is reading and Anya is biting her nails. Volkov is running about asking about a lot of boring things. Tomorrow we'll have breakfast with Aunt Olga (Greek Queen Olga Konstantinovna) and Khristo(Greek Prince). Dmitry will have tea with us..."
May 20, 1916, "...Now I am sitting in Mother's room. Olga is playing the piano and Tatiana is reading something. Anastasia has already gone to bed. Mother is reading some petitions. Yesterday Ledigarov had dinner with us. He was very nice and told us a lot of things about the regiment. We are all wearing Yevpatorian shawls and missing warm weather..."
May 29, 1916, "...We went to the Children's Island the other day with Poup's sister and she pulled out the weeds with us. There was a lot of rotten grass in between the lilies of the valley which did not let them grow fast. We cleared up the half and are going to do the other half soon..."
July 4, 1916, "...We drank tea in the balcony, then we rocked in the hammock. It is hanging on two trees behind the path in front of the balcony. The trees there are very strong. Before dinner we went for a drive with Mother. After that I went for a walk with Tatiana, Anastasia and Trina. We walked along the streets around the boulevard to the railway station and back..."
June 8, 1916, "...Shvybz (Anastasia) got a ping pong as a present for her birthday, that is a table-tennis. And we played it with her. It was very tiresome as we had to lie on the floor all the time to look for and pick up the balls..."
Aug. 7, 1916, "...It was very pleasant to see Issizaki Z.I. at breakfast yesterday. He showed Olga the menu from a distance and at the same time was telling her that he remembered his letters that he had written to her to Mogilyov in Japanese. I was sitting between Uncle Georgy and Uncle Pavel, so I felt at ease and was not embarrassed. Now I must go and change in black for the funeral service. We are constantly having offices for the dead nowadays."
Sept. 28, 1916, "...I am reading the book "Rosary" in English now. You have read it. I like it very much.
Oct. 16, 1916, "...How dull it is to be back to Tsarskoe Selo again. Our daily routine again - classes in the morning, our hospital, the Grand Palace and a walk in the afternoon, the sisters' hospital in the evening. Now I am sitting at Mother's writing desk. We've just finished breakfast. ...Olga and Tatiana are reading, Mother is writing to you now. Shvybz went upstairs..."
Oct. 30, 1916, "...It's been 2 years since the Grand Palace's dear hospital was organized, so we should go and attend a concert there. Your friend Lersky will be there. I'll be happy to see him as he is a nice person to talk to and usually tells a lot of funny things. I am at Mother's now... I think, I have to close up as I have to finish two shirts for the officers who are leaving our hospital and will come to say good-bye today..."
Nov. 3, 1916, "...You can't imagine how pleasant it was to hear Aleksey's voice over the telephone. I have a feeling now that you've become closer to us but what is most important - no one can overhear us as when the engineer connects our two lines he switches himself off..."
Feb. 23, 1917, "...I am writing to you from my bedroom. Olga and Tatiana are resting in the next room and Alexey is in bed in the playing-room. Mr. Gibbs is sitting at his bedside in the doctor's white smock. It looks very funny. Mother, Shvybz and me are also wearing overalls not to infect other dresses..."
1917 "...Now I am sitting in the middle of our bedroom. They all lie somewhere around me. Mother is lying on the couch and Olga, Tatiana, Anastasia and Aleksey are lying in beds. Tatiana has got pain in the ear therefore her head is covered with bandages and she can't hear any- thing. Olga has become voiceless because of the bad cough. Shvybz and Aleksey are better than others, they are the only ones who speak loudly. Alexey tries to jump in bed which he is forbidden to do. Lily (Den) is sitting on the floor and is talking to Mother in a low voice. I usually stay with them for a long time talking to them or looking out of the window. Each one of them has his animal-pet in bed..."
1917 "...Sisters are still kept in beds in a dark room but Aleksey got tired of it and was transferred to the playroom where he doesn't curtain all the windows. Today Zhilik, me and him cast bullets out of tin and he liked it very much. Mother is cheerful though her heart is not quite O.K. yet. I spend all my time with Mother now as I am the only one who is not sick and can walk. I also share the bed with her to be closer to her in case someone wants to see her or to tell her something. Lily sleeps in the Red Room near the dining-room on the sofa where Olga used to sleep. She is a dear and helps us a lot in everything. We can see our cossacks and soldiers out of the windows. Yesterday Mother and I went to the basement to see how they all had got settled there. There was complete darkness there as there is no electricity in the house in the day time. The soldiers were very nice; when we passed by they leaped up from their straw beds where they were lying to greet Mother. We were led by the porter who carried a candle and gave the soldiers the command "attention!" Yesterday we had a service here. The icon of the Virgin of the Sign was brought from the Church for the sisters. We felt better the whole day after that..."
1917 "...I am with Shvybz now. She is lying in bed and drinking tea. Yesterday she could still work and we looked out of the windows at dear cossacks and other soldiers. The soldiers were wonderful. They fought with each other, pushed each other and fell on the snow thus warming themselves up. Victor (Erastovich Zborobsky - a cossack sotnik of Her Majesty's Escort) was also sweet. He talked to the soldiers all the time and they made a crowd around him. He told them different funny things and they laughed loudly. Then he smoked a cigarette and offered them cigarettes from his case. In the afternoon we saw out of Shura's (Aleksandra Tegleva) window the cossacks with their horses standing around their officers and singing their songs in low voices. Then some hay was brought and they fed their horses; then they went to the basement to have their own meal. There was always dinner and tea ready for them. Small mobile kitchens were situated in the yard..."

Start Date: 03 JUNE 2007

Venue: CENTRE NATIONAL DU COSTUME DE SCENE
Location: MOULINS, FRANCE
Curator: CHRISTIAN LACROIX AND DELPHINE PINASA

Designer Histories
How does a great couturier dress the stage? How does a magician of colours, a lover of shimmering fabrics, a sculptor of shapes and volumes, an alchemist of laces, braids, ruches and other frivolities transform artists by giving their dress to the characters of choreographic works, lyrical and theatrical performances performed on the biggest national and international stages?
For more than twenty years, even before the creation of his fashion house, Christian Lacroix has been working with constant happiness behind the scenes of theatre workshops, combining the science of haute couture technique and artisanal know-how, tips and tricks of the stage, respect for the works and personal sensitivity.
Christian Lacroix likes to evoke his first steps in sewing, while from his early years, returning from the theatre, he reinterpreted the costumes he had just seen on the set.
As an echo to this initial vocation, the Center national du costume de scène is organizing the first major event around the work of Christian Lacroix for the show.
This exhibition presents more than 200 costumes and models of costumes created by Christian Lacroix and performed in specialized sewing workshops in the performing arts. A panorama of more than twenty-five ballet, theatre and opera productions, among which:
For the ballet: “Gaité parisienne”, choreography by Mikhaïl Barysnikov for the American Ballet Theatre in New York; “Les Anges ternis”, choreography by Karole Armitage; “Shéhérazade”, choreography by Blanca Li for the Opéra national de Paris; “Cinderella” at the Vienna Opera; “La Valse des bonbons”, for Austrian television.
For the theatre: “Chantecler” , directed by Jean-Luc Tardieu for the Maison de la Culture in Nantes; “Otello et Phèdre”, two productions by Anne Delbée for the Théâtre 14 and the Comédie-Française in Paris; “Les Caprices de Marianne”, directed by Lambert Wilson at the Bouffes du Nord.
For the opera: “Carmen” , directed by Antoine Bourseiller at the Arènes de Nîmes; “Cosi fan tutte”, “Il Re pastore”, “Eliogabalo”, three operas directed by Vincent Boussard for the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels.

Crimes of the Future (2022)
Tumblr media
At a glance, David Cronenberg’s Crimes of the Future might seem weird for weirdness’ sake. Under closer examination, the strangeness is merely an expansion of what already exists in our society and background/world-building material for a story that’s easy to latch onto. It’s the right mix of new and familiar, with plenty of the thought-provoking and stomach-churning scenes you'd expect from the Canadian director.
In the future, advances in biotechnology have eliminated all infectious diseases and radically altered mankind’s pain threshold. The changes to our genome cause Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen) to continuously develop vestigial organs. He has them removed by his partner, Caprice (Léa Seydoux) as a form of performance art. Saul’s “accelerated evolution syndrome” draws the attention of a group of "radical evolutionists", whom the police wish to infiltrate and observe.
That’s a lot to digest but when you think about it, the film’s ideas are not THAT unusual. As long as there have been people, we have modified our bodies with piercings, scarification, cranial deformation, foot binding, tattoos and more. As technology has advanced, tattoos, in particular, have become increasingly sophisticated and acceptable in North America. Up to 30% of adults are said to have at least one tattoo. What is a tattoo except a form of surgery performed by a non-doctor meant to be seen by others? It’s permanent, unnecessary and allows individuals to express themselves. The performance art in this film (Saul getting opened up is one of many grotesque displays) is merely an exaggeration/extrapolation of what we do today. It makes you wonder which hobbies our ancestors might find barbaric and what hot new thing awaits us in the future.
Crimes of the Future is knee-deep in one human revolution and on the cusp of another. Tenser and Caprice meet with the newly-founded National Organ Registry, led by Doctors Wippet and Timlin (Don McKellar and Kristen Stewart), which keeps track and catalogs mutations. They also keep tabs on any "organ copyright infringements". The government is getting very nervous about the mutants living among the population. We’re told these individuals aren’t people and pose a threat to humanity. To the viewer, they are indistinguishable from everyone else. Many deliberately uncomfortable scenes show Caprice opening up her partner for others to gawk at. Their behavior seems o distant from ours and yet it's evolutionists who are unconsidered non-humans? Why? Because of their DNA? How is this different from judging someone based on the color of their skin?
Crimes of the Future (which is not a remake of the 1970 film also made by Cronenberg) is peculiar but not THAT peculiar for the director, which means it is both a treat for his fans and more of a return to form rather than a bold exploration into new territory. Even if this blend of genres isn't your typical thing it's sure to be memorable and it offers a lot to think about. (Theatrical version on the big screen, June 12, 2022)

My last pre-pandemic movie theater experience was in mid-February 2020, when I went to see KNIVES OUT before it was out of theaters.
My first pandemic* movie theater experience came on June 6th, when I decided that the best way to see David Cronenberg’s CRIMES OF THE FUTURE was by going to a 1:20pm showing on a Monday.  Perhaps because my dad wishes he could eat hot dogs more than anything, I had one for lunch in my seat ahead of the film, pondering just how many other humans might turn up for this.
Two other humans turned up seated before the film started.  Perfect.
The film was very much a return to the body horror more typical of the 70s-80s phase of Cronenberg’s oeuvre, and I intentionally read a variety of pieces online ahead of time so that I was aware of the film’s more disturbing moments.  Don’t go if you prefer to avoid filicide.  Several uncomfortable moments of both conventional and unconventional violence, and definitely a film that leaves you pondering a variety of meanings.  I really enjoyed it.  I spent the 1990s going to live body art performances that were the grandparents of the mods and activities you see in this film.
Viggo Mortensen has done weird stuff in past movies, but he’s never as good-weird as when he’s being weird with Cronenberg.  Kristen Stewart is as free and far from whatever you may have thought of her before, not unlike Robert Pattinson’s performance in COSMOPOLIS.  The forehead implants they do on Lea Seydoux’s character Caprice are *chef’s kiss*.
Some have said this is like a third part of a trilogy, after VIDEODROME (1983) and eXistenZ (1999), and while not intentional on Cronenberg’s part, I can see it that way.
*we are NOT post-pandemic, wtf is wrong with you?

June, 3 (Morning) Devotion
“These were potters, and those that dwelt among plants and hedges: there they dwelt with the king for his work.”
1 Chronicles 4:23
Potters were not the very highest grade of workers, but “the king” needed potters, and therefore they were in royal service, although the material upon which they worked was nothing but clay. We, too, may be engaged in the most menial part of the Lord’s work, but it is a great privilege to do anything for “the king”; and therefore we will abide in our calling, hoping that, “although we have lien among the pots, yet shall we be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.” The text tells us of those who dwelt among plants and hedges, having rough, rustic, hedging and ditching work to do. They may have desired to live in the city, amid its life, society, and refinement, but they kept their appointed places, for they also were doing the king’s work. The place of our habitation is fixed, and we are not to remove from it out of whim and caprice, but seek to serve the Lord in it, by being a blessing to those among whom we reside. These potters and gardeners had royal company, for they dwelt “with the king” and although among hedges and plants, they dwelt with the king there. No lawful place, or gracious occupation, however mean, can debar us from communion with our divine Lord. In visiting hovels, swarming lodging-houses, workhouses, or jails, we may go with the king. In all works of faith we may count upon Jesus’ fellowship. It is when we are in his work that we may reckon upon his smile. Ye unknown workers who are occupied for your Lord amid the dirt and wretchedness of the lowest of the low, be of good cheer, for jewels have been found upon dunghills ere now, earthen pots have been filled with heavenly treasure, and ill weeds have been transformed into precious flowers. Dwell ye with the King for his work, and when he writes his chronicles your name shall be recorded.

The film is presented in partnership with the Chicago Department of Public Health, Tessa Films and local community organizations. As we embark upon the journey of a new year, the cosmos beckons us to delve into the mystique of horoscope readings and Horoscope Reading 2024-25 . With the celestial bodies aligning in unique configurations, we are offered glimpses into the tapestry of our lives. Let's embark on this celestial voyage to explore what the stars have in store for us.
The Cosmic Dance:
In the realm of astrology, the movements of planets and stars are believed to influence the course of our lives. Astrologers interpret these movements to provide insights into various aspects of our existence – from love and career to health and spirituality. As we enter 2024, the cosmic dance promises to be dynamic and transformative.
Aries (March 21 - April 19):
For the fiery Aries, 2024-25 holds the promise of new beginnings and opportunities for personal growth. With Mars, your ruling planet, igniting your ambitions, you'll feel inspired to pursue your passions with vigor. Keep an eye out for unexpected twists and turns in your professional life, as Jupiter's influence brings both challenges and rewards.
Taurus (April 20 - May 20):
As the steady Taurus navigates the celestial landscape, stability and security will be paramount. Saturn's presence in your sign encourages you to lay solid foundations for the future, whether in your career or personal life.
