DEMO (TBA) | Cast Profiles | Cast Interviews
The Muse is a 18+ slice of life interactive fiction novel set at NYU focusing mostly on the art departments in the Steinhardt and Tisch schools. Inspired by my love for shows and movies like Felicity, Fame (the show), Skins UK, and Center Stage. This will not be an accurate depiction of school life at NYU, I'll be taking lots of creative liberties.
Content Warnings: explicit language, sexual themes, substance use, violence, mention of SA
You come from a family of artists and art lovers. Your mother is a passionate curator for a small gallery in the city and your father is a sculptor and painter with a very dedicated cult following. They met when they were just starting out and have built a lovely life for themselves and their two children, you and your older brother Cameron.
Your parents have always been super supportive of you and your brother’s dreams and ambitions. They were a great source of encouragement and guidance for your brother on his path to discovering his goal to become a game designer and you on your path to become whatever you choose.
Growing up surrounded by such creativity just so happened to inspired you to want to create something of your own.
Now that you’ve graduated high school it’s time for you to head off to university! You’ve decided to leave the mid sized city that you call your hometown, and go to the big city NYC! You’ll be attending NYU more specifically, but you won’t be making this move alone you’ll be attending with your best friend Maxine!
What will you discover in your university life?
Will you solely focus on schoolwork or wind up in the raging party scene?
Will you explore new creative endeavors or solely focus on honing your craft?
With so much going on will you even have the time to possibly find your muse, or maybe even become someone else’s?
Design your mc from clothing style to physical appearance to pronouns, gender identity, name, looks, and more.
Choose 1 of 9 majors that grant you different classes with new students and professors: (Studio Arts, Dance, Drama, Photography and Imaging, Jazz Studies, Songwriting, Recorded Music, Collaborative Arts, Dramatic Writing )
Curate your MCs personality and how they react to all the drama and excitement university life has to offer. Style your MC’s dorm room and their aesthetic style.
Navigate the cliques and scenes to figure out where your MC fits in. Maybe you're a social butterfly and you just float from one social group to another!
Engage in a romance with 1 of 10 characters. 5 female/male gender selectable and 5 gender set characters. And 2 poly routes one with The Rebel Rejects and on with The Exes.
Choose one of three part time jobs to give you a little extra spending money for things like spring break and birthday gifts for your new friends.
Follow The Muse through your MC’s freshman and sophomore years. Junior and senior year will come much later in Book Two of The Muse. The third and final book in The Muse series will cover the start of MC's new life after graduation.
Roxanne/Robbie Sawyer: (f/m) The lead singer and guitarist of The Rebel Rejects. Ro is everything you would want in a lead singer cool, charismatic, and super talented. Don’t let their dazzling aura intimidate you though because though they may have a raging wild side they can also be extremely down to earth.
Joleen/Johnny Nielsen: (f/m) The drummer of The Rebel Rejects. Jo is the oddball of the band with a sunny exterior and twisted flower child past. They may be a sweet boho bimbo with a heart of gold, but there’s a lot more that lies behind those blue green eyes.
Delphine/Desmond Hartley: (f/m) The bassist for The Rebel Rejects. De is the super glue propelling the group forward. With high expectations from her parent, and dreams that soar even higher, success is the only option.
Rina/Ren Fukushi: (f/m) R is the best ballet dancer in this incoming freshman class, and no one would ever think to say otherwise. They’re cold and closed off, if it isn’t about ballet then they don’t want to hear it.
Everly/Everett Thompson: (f/m) Eve is a triple threat. Singing, dancing, acting they can do it all. They hope to complete their EGOT before they turn 40.
Karla Reyes: (she/her) Karla is a sophomore at NYU studying Studio Arts. Their favorite medium is watercolor on canvas. They’ve dabbled with sculpting and ceramics...until they broke up with their ex, Faye, and can’t stand to be in the same studio with them.
Faye Winters: (she/they) Fae is every bit the ethereal being they seem to be, and just as flighty. She is a sophomore majoring in dance with a minor in studio arts. She has this effortless charm and beauty that extends to her art whether its her dancing or her sculptures.
Sebastien Auclair: (he/him) Sebastien is in his third year of university, he’s an exchange student from the Paris College of Art. He is studying photography and imaging. Sebastian loves Paris, but he is excited for this change of scenery.
Maxine Matthews: (she/her)Max is your best friend in the world! Your parents are friends so you were destined to best pals since birth, thank god you actually like each other or all those shared family functions would have been really awkward. Max is funny and always has great commentary for every show or movie that you watch together. Which is why you weren’t surprised when they decided to major in dramatic writing. Some people think that you’re too close. They wonder how is it possible that you could be just friends.
Silas Walker: (he/him) Silas is your RA. As your Resident Advisor he's super helpful and friendly. You have question about the best study spots, bad professors, how to use the subway, well he's got answers. He keeps all his advisees at arms length because everyone knows RAs can't canoodle with their advisees. And that just makes it all the more enticing.

"Happy Birthday"
-a short snippet from my Batman story
A/N- This takes place right at the beginning of the story. Edwin, Riddler's son, receives a letter from his father, right from his Arkham cell. He's a bit conflicted at first, but he knows just someone who can help him cope with a situation like this.
Ed closed the door of his room. The tear stains were still fresh on his face, his ginger hair messy. He slowly walked up to his desk, and sat down. A few packages laid on it. Most of them were from relatives that couldn't make it to Gotham. But one of them stood out.
The package looked a little stained, and it was visibly taped down. Someone obviously opened it up before. The boy lazily began to open the packages. Some money from uncle Steve, a new Mario game from his cousin and just a simple letter with wishes from his European relatives. Ed smiled slightly. At least they remembered, unlike his friends who didn't bother to show up to his party...
Finally, he was through with the packages. Only one left. He picked it up. It smelled weirdly. The tag said "New Jersey, Gotham. Arkham Asylum". Ed opened it consciously. A small letter fell out of it, next to it a small...ring? He looked at it, furrowing his eyebrows. It was silver and shiny, with a small reddish jewel. The colour was worn out, but it still looked impressive.
He slowly picked up the letter.
"Dear Edwin,
I don't think you remember me. I haven't been able to get this contact for a long time, but now that you're 16 I can finally write to you without your mother's consent. My name's Edward Nygma. But you will know me better as the Riddler.
Joleen told me you choose your name after me. Not the best role model honestly. But whatever makes you happy, my boy.
I hope this letter comes to you right for your birthday. I'm sending it two weeks early to make sure it arrives on time. Happy birthday. I added a small gift in the package. Hope you like it, used to belong to my grandma.
Feel free to reply to me. My cell number is 1760.

The boy looked at the paper, dumbfounded. His thoughts were racing. His father, who hasn't been present in his life for the last 15 years, is back. His father, who's a state known criminal, is back.
Ed couldn't find any words. He dropped the paper down and stood up from his desk.
He took his phone out of his pocket, and jumped onto his bed. The boy unlocked the phone, and waited a moment. Then he opened the messaging app.
"1 new message to: Babs
'I know you couldn't make it today, but I have a question. Do you remember when you told me about those Cobblepot kids?' "
Not a moment later, the girl replied.
'Yeah, Martin and Boris. Why do you ask?'
Ed thought carefully about his next reply.
'I need to talk to them about something important.
Can you send me Martin's number?'

Isabella Ace, King Bruce Ace's Niece's Alternate Timeline
1990 - 2016
(Isabella Ace was actually born in 2004, but I made her birthday 14 years earlier because she was a time traveler in the 1990s to fit my alternate universe story arc.)
Friday, February 16, 1990 - Gabriel Anthony Estes was born in New Mexico.
Wednesday, March 14, 1990 - Isabella Ace, niece of a rich uncle named King Bruce Ace, was born in Atlanta, GA. She was a child genius like Sheldon in the Big Bang Theory. She studies animals and spends her time at 4H club. She's an expert horseback rider, and she is non-religious.
Her likes are: Biology, animals, horseback riding, books, computers, video games, black clothes, science, Star Wars, Star Trek, Minecraft, coffee, tea, scones, spaghetti and meatballs, cinnamon toast, and sponge baths
Her life goal: Be a equine veterinarian
Monday, June 16, 1997 - Her grandmother, Joleen Winifred Crawford-Harper, died from a failed military experiment to reverse aging. This was ironically on the same day as her aunt, Francesca Basta's 37th birthday.
Tuesday, September 11, 2001 - Twin Towers exploded from supposed impact from planes, thousands of deaths from explosion, George Bush blamed Afghanistan. Isabella Ace was attending Atlanta Classical Academy and taking Algebra II when her Civics Teacher came in and told her math teacher, Mr. Gasket to turn on his TV and see the news. Isabella Ace wasn't sure if it was real, but her patriotic mother, Queen Marissa Ace, was certain that the U.S. was under attack by the Middle East.
Monday, September 6, 2004 - Gabriel a.k.a Gabe and Isabella Ace (who is 5'1 and thin) were enrolled at Telesis Preparatory Academy (a K-12th grade science institution) where they met for the first time. They found each other insufferable and immediately began a rivalry to see who would graduate as the valedictorian.
Isabella Ace was a brown-haired teenager with periwinkle eyes and a fiery personality. She had a large ego and felt the need to assert her dominant and combative personality onto Gabe because she saw him as a threat to her status as THE top student. She was bright-eyed about the future, which unbeknownst to her would include Gabe.
Monday, October 25, 2004 - In biochemistry class, Gabe and Isabella Ace were unfortunately assigned to the same group to come up with a serum that would supercharge soldiers and make them heal quickly while in the battlefield. They argued about what chemicals could accomplish their goal. Isabella wanted to use a zinc-based serum while Gabe wanted to incorporate Gamma Rays. Apparently, the group decided to incorporate both chemicals to see what would happen. Their first trial didn't include enough zinc, so they had to use wolf's blood to make a successful batch. The group made the most successful serum, despite the effects only lasting in healthy males in their late teens and early 20s.
Friday, June 9, 2005 - After almost a year competing against each other, Gabe and Isabella Ace played in the band at the graduation ceremonies for the class of 2005. Isabella "Izzy" Ice sang "Larger Than Life," originally by the Backstreet Boys (as suggested by King Bruce Ace). Gabe played the drum machines. Gabe decided to profess his true feelings for Izzy after hearing her voice. She admitted she reciprocated those feelings since she had first seen him. They began dating and resolved to no longer compete against each other, but instead work as a team.
Tuesday, September 13, 2005 - In an effort to make money to see Isabella Ace more often and keep their relationship alive, Gabe applied to McDonalds and was almost immediately hired. However, his father, Admiral Gabriel A. Estes paid him a visit and encouraged him to do something more with his life. Gabe resolved to follow in his father's footsteps and enlisted in the Army. Isabella Ace was pissed when he first told her about enlisting in the Army. However, after he emotionally explained why, she was calmer about it and promised to be by his side.
May 14 - August 14, 2006 - Gabe and Isabella Ice enrolled in a summer program at the Naval Base off the coast of Los Angeles, CA. They learned about submarines, stealth craft, and how to scuba dive should they end up on a naval mission. Isabella Ace was the top student in this program, given her excellent ability to swim.
Friday, June 6, 2008 - Gabe and Isabella Ace graduated Telesis Preparatory Academy. Isabella Ace was valedictorian, and Gabe was Salutatorian.
Monday, June 16, 2008 - Isabella Ace got a job at a Top Secret Military BioPhysics Lab and got involved in creating a super serum that uses horse DNA, gamma rays, zinc oxide, and a solution that is only known as BannerRx. King Bruce Ace was the main reference in getting her this position.
December 21, 2008 - January 10, 2009 - Gabe spent Christmas break in Lake Havasu City with the Royal Ace family (of course, Isabella Ace was radio silent about her activities at the lab).
Saturday, February 14, 2009 - Had birthday and Valentine's Day dinner with the royal Ace family and proposed to Isabella Ace
Saturday, May 9, 2009 - Gabe and Isabella Ace watched the final episode of Star Trek and a marathon of the Big Bang Theory.
Monday, June 1, 2009 - Izzy was asked by the Telesis Preparatory Academy officials to be the alumni singer for the graduation ceremony.
Thursday, June 4, 2009 - Gabe was promoted to Private 1st Class.
Saturday, June 6, 2009 - Isabella Ace sings "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus, the main inspirational graduation song, for the graduation ceremonies.
Friday, May 6, 2011 - Gabe came back to Lake Havasu, AZ and moved in with Isabella Ace's family
Friday, May 13, 2011 - Gabe and Isabella Ace got married. (They adopted her last name due to royalty status.)
Wednesday, March 14, 2012 - 1st pregnancy ultrasound on Isabella Ace's 22nd birthday; Gabe's child

A polycule with all the Rebel Rejects?! Say no more I may feint from joy! jokes aside that would be cool, BUT as I've come to learn writing and coding PolyRoms can be insane and taxing so while yeah cool and desired I can enjoy this game 100% without it. Since I'm here I'd love to get the RO's reacts from being gifted a self made teddy plush (or whatever their fav animal is) from the MC.

Hey! Yeah I'm sure it'll be quite the task, but I think it'll be a really fun path to write even if it is pretty challenging. Everyone is so excited about it which just makes me want to write it that much more! Ok moving on to this super cute scenario! Let's say that they are already official and this is the first gift MC is giving them while dating. And they're just hanging out in MC's dorm room.
