Which concept art is the braiding girls in? Also do you have names for them? Someone named them all after flowers.
I've never named them, no.

Regis Philbin and Jim from the Office (Actor John Krasinski) were not longtime friends. In fact, despite working at the same studio in New York City, it wasn't until 2011, close to Regis's retirement, that the two men's paths would cross outside 30 Rockefeller Center.
Tumblr media
"Well I was always a huge fan of Regis growing up as a kid" [Jim from The Office is responding to a question that was presented off screen] "So it caught me off guard that he was a fan of my work as well. I remember him saying how he and his wife would watch my show every Tuesday at 9:30 pm EST on NBC. He was blushing slightly, asking the type of questions I was used to hearing at Office fan conventions, like 'Hey, how did you get Dwight's Stapler suspending in Jello like that' and 'So when Kevin spilled the chili, was that real, or just "TV Magic"?' [Jim does a startling skilled impression of Regis here]. Filming for the day had wrapped at that point, and I offered to buy Regis a cup of coffee, so we could continue our conversation further. At that point in my life, my career was ascendant, so I had stopped off in my dressing room to put on what were my usual disguises I would wear in public to obfuscate my identity (A giant scarf with a checkered pattern that reflects back the flash of any Paparazzi cameras, large dark moon-shaped sunglasses, and a plain burlap coat devoid of any logos or symbols and thick enough to hide the shape of my body). I asked Regis whether he would be wearing his disguise and he laughed a deep belly laugh before telling me that he loves his fans, and wouldn't have it any other way. I soon found this to be true when, during our walk, excited passersby would gawk and stare, fully enraptured by Regis' presence. Regis would catch their eye and ask them if they were looking for 'a photo, an autograph, or just a smile'. I remember in a clever bit of role reversal, multiple Spidermen stopped to ask *him* to pose for a photograph. I'll never forget the way Regis joked with the Spidermen, coaxing them to flex their biceps and exclaiming about how strong they were, all the while insisting that they, not him, were the real heroes."
"WE talked for hours after arriving at the coffee shop. He shared his triumphs, his regrets, and the things he wasn't quite sure how to feel about after nearly a half century on television. 'Now don't get me wrong', Regis explained, 'I wouldn't trade one second of it'. As our conversation stretched into the evening, he began to tell me stories that I had never heard, either in the trades our through gossip. He confided that he had had many children out of wedlock, about the overflowing tensions between himself and Kelly Ripa which almost made him question his love of daytime TV hosting, and how he often wondered if Meredith Vieira had the 'Zing' necessary to pull Who Wants To Be A Millionaire US franchise out of its ratings slump."
"EVENTUALLY, apologetically, our barista let us know that they would be closing soon and Regis thanked her with a picture, an autograph, and a $200 cash tip. Regis registered my surprise. 'You want to make it big enough to make it happy, but not so much to make headlines you know what I mean?' he said, gently ribbing me with his elbow. As we waited outside for a cab (this was before Uber really took off), we began saying our goodbyes, exchanging contact information with promises of meeting again someday in the future. When a driver finally arrived he opened the back door began staring into my eyes, looking for something that I wasn't sure was there before telling me that there was 'something I'd like you to see.'"
"I took off my disguise once entering the cab. Though I was initially worried that I would be recognized for my role as Jim, I should have known by now that Regis was the star, and I was merely a satellite in his orbit. Regis opened by giving his home address and then adding that it was his 'final answer'. From the rest of the trip home, our driver was starstruck. He, like me, had grown up watching Regis' glow emanate from the TV screen in his home, seemingly there, in the background of every pivotal life moment, separated by only a thin piece of glass. When we arrived, Regis let him take a photo, then handed him an autograph alongside a very large tip, thereby earning not only the drivers loyalty, but his undying reverence.
"REGIS'S manse was at both times massive, and yet still reflective of his working class upbringing in the Bronx. As we walked through to his study I marveled at all the TV memorabilia that lined the halls: the collar from the original Lassie, the intercom from Charlie's angels, a piece of the Challenger Space Shuttle, as well as an original sketch of Bart Simpson's shorts. 'This!' Regis exclaimed, unlocking the drawer to his large polished oak desk, 'This is what I wanted to show you!'. Regis slowly spread out what appeared to be an old naval map from the 19th, no, the 18th century. 'I want to go here', Regis said, pointing to coast of the colony of North Carolina, 'That's where the best clam fishing is! The problem is, the sandbars are too high for most motor fishing boats. So we're going to have to get creative!' Thinking back on it, I'm almost certain that Regis never asked me if I wanted to join his voyage. Perhaps he didn't need to. I think we both knew from the time I stepped into his home that I was with him no matter where his adventure took us and that that was my final answer."
"WE stayed up late into the night, drinking fermented clam juice, speculating on what the media would say if it ever got out that two of TV's biggest stars would soon be legendary Clam-haulers. Regis spoke passionately at length about his Irish background and the history and fortitude of the Philbin Clan. We made plan to set sail 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning to set sail on the SS Regis Weekend.
"WHEN I arrived at the docks, I immediately felt myself to be ill-suited to the task, especially when compared to the other members of the crew. There was "John" Regis Jr Ripa, a young and jovial burly man with bleach blonde windswept hair fastening a large sail with the Philbin family sigil to the ships mast, Louis Lee, John's half brother, 6 years his senior, checking the ships inventory, a mostly silent man known only as "King" who appeared very much like Regis, only more squat and muscular with large tribal face tattoos, and Regina, the ship's cook, a short and homely woman of unknown parentage. 'So what do you say? Are you ready?' Regis asked, playfully slapping me on the back. Not long after I agreed, I was put to work, and we soon set sail after, due South, where Regis's great bounty awaited us.
"IT was two days in when the storm set upon us. We were all of us, the crew, feasting and drinking in the galley, listening to Regis regale us with tales of what Oprah Winfrey was really like behind the scenes when King burst in. Hurried, he warned us that the severe winds had contracted the sail, and if it was not properly extended, our ship would be blown off course. Spry and nimble, Regis rushed to the ships helm while we Men braved the harsh winds, pulling rope and tying knots to extend the sail of the Regis Weekend. A large wave burrowed and then crept across the deck of the ship, sweeping us away off our feet, and then up and back again from the right side. Encased in a wall of rain, I lost sight of John and Louis, and only saw King again as he was pulled me up after I found myself dangling from the ships side. It was only after the storm had subsided that we realized they had been swallowed by the cruel sea.
"REGIS mourned his lost sons for all of Saturday evening and most of Sunday morning. During that time he retreated often to the captains quarters, making me question whether his entire expedition had been folly. I had grown ill as well, my constitution weakened by a lack of vitamin C after our fruit rations were depleted. I had by then resolved to confront Regis, to turn the Weekend around and return to New York City. That was when I heard it. First a thump, then a rattling, a clicking and finally Regis crying out 'Wowie!'
"On the deck of the weekend were dozens, if not hundreds of clams, leaping from the ocean and onto the SS Regis Weekend. 'Bet you didn't see this coming did ya?' Regis beamed, 'This is just fantastic! Wow!' King and I ushered the deck clams into the cargo hold, then set out nets on the port of the ship to collect the rest. When our holds were filled, Regina cooked a full feast of fresh baked clams and later that night we set course due North. Home"
"THOUGH our rewards were great, our losses were greater. Regis had finally proven that 19th century clam fishing techniques were still viable in the modern era, but in the process lost his two bastard sons. Regis would go on to host five more shows before retiring and I continued in my TV career and beyond, eventually starring and directing in feature film 'The Quiet Place' which contains a tribute to Louis Lee and John Ripa."
This was the only known encounter between Mr. Krasinski and Regis Philbin and only became public following Regis's death in 2020. Every year, on the anniversary of this event [September 9th], Mr. Krasinski will put out a public statement reading simply:
Regis Weekend Has Been Extended For The Next 24 Hours And Will Expire On September 10th.

'Frozen' is the movie that got me into fanfiction, so I feel it's only fitting to mark the day with a (short, sweet, kind of silly) fic. To all who venture to click, I hope you enjoy!
And I just want to say the biggest 'Thank You' to Jennifer Lee, Chris Buck, the Lopezes, Michael Giamo, Wayne Unten, John Ripa, Brittney Lee, Lisa Keane, Becky Bresee, and all the other incredibly talented men and women who brought Frozen to life. For ten years, this movie has brought me so much joy and inspiration and ✨magic,✨ and for that I am forever grateful.
Happy 10 everyone! 💙

Sangheili Bracket Round 1 Match 6
More info below:
Rho 'Barutamee:
Debuted in Halo: The Essential Visual Guide
Born March 23rd, 2479, he joined the Ministry of Fervent Intercession and served as a Zealot until his appointed to Supreme Commander of the Fleet of Valiant Prudence, tasked with far-ranged scouting and the security of Foreruner artifacts. Secretly, Rho would maintain a personal collection of Forerunner artifacts - especially those that would aid him in his quest for the fabled Maethrillian. This search would eventually lead him to accidentally stumbling upon the UNSC stronghold of Reach, where he would sent covert teams to search the planet for artifacts until the UNSC eventually discovered them. With reinforcements from the Covenant arriving, Rho feared his chance to find his loot would be lost and an interrogation on his impudence. Following the desctruction of the structure cloaking his ship Long Night of Solace on the planet, he would destroy the UNSC Grafton in retaliation. In response, two operations would be conducted by UNSC forces: one to distract Rho and one to use the distraction to plant a rigged slipspace drive on Ardent Prayer that would destroy Long Night of Solace. His death resulted, with his lieutenant - Kantar 'Utaralee - assuming command of the remaining fleet and said fleet attempting one last time to recover a Forerunner relic Rho had his eyes on.
Ripa 'Moramee:
Debuted in Halo Wars
Born on Malurok on June 2nd, 2478, he served as a warlord thrall within the Ministry of Preservation, gaining infamy across the Covenant for his ruthlessness. During this time, he notably quelled the Sixteenth Unggoy Disobedience within days and killed the Kig-Yar pirate prince Krith. Yet, ironic to his role of quashing rebellions, Ripa would then go on to attempt a coup against his kaidon in Moram, only to fail and end up imprisoned in the super-maximum security penitentiary known as the Weeping Shadows of Sorrow. While there, he incited a large-scale prison riot as part of a plan to escape, only to be captured once again and placed in solitary confinement. It was here that he was visited by the Prophet of Regret, who bestowed upon him the rank of Arbiter and the mission to wipe out humanity. Before that, however, the new Arbiter would first squash a rebellion incited by his appointment.
Starting in 2526, Ripa would lead the Fleet of Glorious Interdiction during the Harvest Campaign, while also occasionally visiting Etran Haborage to fight back against the Flood presence there. Around February 2531, the Harvest Campaign would be changed by the discovery of an underground relic; valuable information was gathered, but the relic ended up taken by human forces before the Covenant could destroy it to keep it out of their hands. Following this information led Ripa's fleet to Arcadia and the location of another Forerunner structure, with the UNSC Spirit of Fire pursuing them. Noting how the human professor Ellen Anders was able to interface with Forerunner technology and believing she could do the same for activating Etran Haborage's Forerunner fleet, the Prophet of Regret would task Ripa in capturing her. He would ambush her and Sergeant John Forge on Arcadia, nearly killing Forge in the process.
But bringing Anders to Etran Haborage only allowed the Spirit of Fire to follow, beginning Ripa's downfall. While he was able to use Anders to finally activate the Forerunner fleet, she managed to escape immediately afterwards, regrouping with her allies and informing them of the fleet. They would then launch a plan to destroy the entire shield world and the fleet with it using their slipspace engine. Ripa would attempt to stop this plan, leading to a second confrontation with Forge. With victory in the duel in sight, Ripa fell to Forge's taunts and opened himself up to getting stabbed in the neck by Forge's combat knife then stabbed in the chest by his own dropped energy sword. His corpse and armor would be destroyed along with the shield world, preventing the Covenant from being able to store them within the Mausoleum of the Arbiter, while his holdings on Malurok would be the source of dispute among neighboring keeps even after the fall of the Covenant.
Submitted propaganda: He's ugly-cute and so mean and evil 🖤
Additional commentary: I agree with the above

Happy birthday to Sergeant John Forge!
Today is his -478th birthday!
Tumblr media
Forge came from a long military family dating back to World War II, but his military career was not spotless. He was incarcerated for over two years and demoted three times, largely due to his defiant personality and willingness to fight to settle things.
In 2530, he was arrested after fighting a man who made suggestive comments toward his then-five-year-old daughter Rion and her aunt. His daughter stood up for him and the charges were dropped, catching the attention of Admiral Preston Cole. Cole personally assigned Forge to the UNSC Sprit of Fire.
During this campaign, Forge uncovered a Covenant plan to access a Forerunner shield world that was home to a fleet of Forerunner dreadnoughts during a scout of Harvest, a discovery that would quickly end the war in the Covenant's favor.
Stopping the Covenant from accessing the fleet became the priority, and Forge and the Spirit of Fire pursued them to the shield world Trove. The plan was to set Spirit's slipspace drive to self destruct, causing the shield world's sun to go supernova and destroy the planet, destroying the dreadnoughts. He and Red Team fought their way to the Apex Site, where he was confronted by Arbiter Ripa 'Moramee. They fought, and he defeated 'Moramee in single combat.
Once the fighting was over, Red Team's Jerome informed him that the slipspace drive had already overheated, meaning that it would have to be set to destruct manually, forcing him to stay behind and die. Forge offered to set the charges himself, recognizing the importance of the Spartans in the war ahead.
Before he sacrificed himself, he left a message for his daughter, which she would eventually uncover in her quest to find him and the missing Spirit of Fire.

What other fictional couple (it can be tv, movies, books, or even another fanfic couple) or celebrity couple reminds you of E/K, T/C and Z/E?
(Also for Ethan and Eva if you have someone in mind but no pressure ofc <33)
Oh my Gosh! I just realized I will have a FOURTH pairing. Dear God, someone stop me! This is lunacy! lol This is not as easy as I thought!
Tobias x Casey:
They came to me the quickest, and not just because another ask today reminded me of something. For them, I'd say:
Gomez and Morticia, The Adams Family - they're crazy about each other, even after marriage & three kids, it never stops. They can't keep their paws off of each other, forever call each other sweet names, and that newness never goes away. (In the Halloween template I did in October, Casey said Tobias always made them roleplay Gomez and Morticia. lol)
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen - The best friend vibe, the absolute adoration, the social media teasing, the children bringing adding joy, the imperfect beginning, but the perfect ending.
Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa - They just seem so natural. They fit and take life in stride. Years pass, kids grow, they're still crazy about each other.
Ethan x Kaycee:
Randall and Beth - This is Us - Two brilliant people with hearts of gold who are completely devoted to each other for the long haul. I also see Ethan and Kaycee like the parents of the friend group a bit; Randall and Beth, the most stable of the Pearsons, were often in that role. (Though I see Kaycee as a little more carefree than Beth.)
Tom & Rita Wilson - They're mature, still appear to be very much in love, they're serious but still playful, and their love is lasting.
Eli x Zoe:
This one was hard for me because I'm very unfamiliar with this genre. But this kind of works.
Katniss and Peeta - The Hunger Games - they are both leaders who do not give up; they have each been through hell, but keep going. But the difference is in this relationship, Peeta is the sunshine, and in my pairing, Zoe is the sunshine. No matter how awful (and it gets AWFUL), she always looks for the ray of light. This is one of the things that draws Eli to her.
Ethan x Eva:
This one is tough - I'm not familiar enough with them yet, but there are elements of
Harry and Sally - When Harry Met Sally (one of my all-time favorite movies and couples). It's the smart, witty banter that makes me think of them and Harry being a bit of a jerk for a while. Both of them taking some time to come around.
Maddie and David - Moonlighting - Not quite as rough and snarky, but it certainly has elements of this at the beginning of their relationship.
I'm going to think of better ones tomorrow, and I'll be mad at myself. lol
Thanks for sending this back!

Recently bought a copy of the new artbook "The Little Mermaid: The Full Film Script", and found scans of the artbook "Treasure Planet: A Voyage of Discovery" a while ago, and both books include very interesting analysis of Ariel and Jim's characters by their respective supervising animators (Glen Keane and John Ripa) and directors John Musker and Ron Clements. Of the two, Jim is the one who has more things covered (they talk about his family background, why his father left, his emotions through the film like his anger, his lack of self-worth and how he always was a sensitive kid, including his internal conflict - Ripa says that Jim actually wanted to let people in his life, but he acted like he wanted to get away from them because he didn't felt someone worth loving -, his relationship with Silver and how important it is to his character development, though we all saw that in the movie) but there's also some interesting stuff on Ariel as well (Keane talks about the complicated relationship between her and her father and how ironically they are more similar than they realize as both are strong-willed and stick to their convictions, how she always was different from her sisters, her independence and open mind, how she always acts by her emotions rather than logic and how despite her fiery side she's actually very sensitive and innocent and thus open to being hurt deeply, as seen when Triton destroyed her grotto which gave Ursula the chance to manipulate her in such vulnerable state, something we also saw in the film). It's fascinating to see them more in depth by their original animators and gives a lot to think about their characters and how their dynamics would be if you put them together. These books also shown a lot of behind-the-scenes, concept art and stuff, they are simply amazing!

Monkey Island Week 2022 Day 3
https://captmickey.tumblr.com/post/688945542082002945
Day Three: Pirate-y Crossover
2022 is truly the year of pirates! And Guybrush isn’t the only pirate out there, I’m sure he’s bound to sail into other popular pirates in media, ranging from Our Flag Means Death to the Muppets, draw or write or what have you your favorite Monkey Island character with another favorite pirate-y character.
(I read that as a single title “Our Flag Means Death to the Muppets” and uhhhh lol)
This is probably heresy, but I’m.... not.... that into? pirates generally? Like they’re cool and all, and sure I love the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and the first couple of those movies are good... but I’ve never seen Muppet Treasure Island (I KNOW) and maybe I’ve seen Treasure Planet like once a million years ago and I feel like I wasn’t really the target audience for OFMD (I liked it, but it didn’t make me scream OMG THIS IS GREAT like many people do) and I’ve never seen Black Sails or played Sea of Thieves or Pirates! and...
Now that I mention Treasure Planet, though, come on, Jim Hawkins is basically Guybrush’s brother from another mother, right?
