Why have I not seen LITERALLY ANYONE talk about how in Erak’s Ransom, when Will saves the group, Horace yells “Will!!” And holds up his tied hands AND WILL SHOOTS IT AND FREES HIM??? LIKE THAT WAS SO COOL WHY DO WE NEVER TALK ABOUT THAT????? The fact that, number one, Horace knew Will was skilled enough to do it, number two, Horace TRUSTED Will not to shoot his hand, number three, Will understood what Horace wanted him to do, and finally, the fact that WILL WAS ABLE TO DO IT IN THE FIRST PLACE?? Now obviously rangers are very trained and blah blah blah but THATS STILL BADASS????

Halt be getting karma, especially after the ah, short skirts comment. Actually, never mind. He was just messing around and trying to keep the poor boy's innocence.
Though, that was kinda ripped away fast.

Halt, Will and Horace (finally) :] Will probably should be older but I felt like drawing his younger ruins-of-gorlan version xD

Conversation
[During The Siege of Macindaw]
Horace: What time is it?
Will: I don't know, pass me my mandola and we'll find out.
Will: *plays mandola loudly and out of tune*
Xander: WHO THE FUCK IS PLAYING THE LUTE AT TWO IN THE MORNING?!
Will: It's 2am

Everyone, please imagine with me the moment that Duncan found out Cassandra and Horace were getting closer and romantically involved. At some point, he had to realize that the idiot reckless boy who he watched singlehandedly pull off the most impossible kill in Araluen duel history was going to marry his EQUALLY STUPID RECKLESS DAUGHTER and become his SON-IN-LAW.
You cannot tell me that man didn't need a stiff drink that night as he realized the future of his family tree.

Can we talk about the scene in Halt's Peril where Halt sleeps with a high fever and calls out the names of Will and Horace, one of the few scenes where it is clear that he subconsciously cares enough about both of them to see them in his dreams (or nightmares) even if he doesn't show it outwardly?

Just saying now, if anyone has any RA fanfic requests, you can send them to me and I'll write it (depending on what it is). I'll try to get it done among the many other things and other RA fanfics I have to write.

As is tradition when I read a childhood series again, here's a sketch. This is sort of how I imagine them.
I was too lazy to do anyone else right now lol

I would really like to remind everyone that it’s canon (we didn’t make this up. We didn’t have to make this up Flanagan made it canon for us) that everyone just. Accepts that Will is Halt’s son. Gilan says that even though he and Halt will always be close, Halt and Will’s relationship is much closer and is father & son like. Pauline treats Will as her son. Horace sees Will as his brother and Halt as his uncle. Everyone sees Will and Halt and are like “this man. This man has adopted a child” which is so funny to me because imagine you’re in araluen and you see Greybeard halt who never smiles with his happy son who doesn’t shut up (AND they’re the same height). Flanagan does a lot wrong in the series but making Halt see Will as his son and the found family aspects are NOT one

Morgarath
Can we all just imagine Morgarath's RAGE if he ever found out that the grey-cloaked meddler who foiled his re-match at taking over Araluen was the apprentice of THE Grey-cloaked meddler?
Damn Morgarath. You gotta up your game.
First time round it took a Ranger to defeat you.
Second time round, not only did an APPRENTICE Ranger kill you, but...
Lord Morgarath, the dude so many had tried and failed to kill...
WAS BEATEN BY A SECOND-YEAR APPRENTICE. Not only that, but the move that Horace used to defeat him was, A RANGER CLASSIC!
AAAAAAHH!

Cassandra, holding a rock: Horace just gave this to me and said “I feel like you deserve the moon but all I can give you is this rock.” Will: If you don’t marry him, I will.
