I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

It's so stupid that work commute miles/car expenses can't be deducted from taxes as a work expense. The whole purpose of the commute is to go to work so I can work, I wouldn't be driving my car to work otherwise.

It couldn't be just for kids? Um the original show is loved by everyone already, not just kids? What are you talking about??? Avatar tackled so many mature themes in a way many "adult" shows could never hope of achieving.

Yes the casting looks good this time around, but things like that are the absolute bare minimum guys. When are studios going to learn? When are audiences going to learn?

I will be extremely happy to be wrong about this one, but so far all the signs I've seen before are there. It all started when the original creators left. I guess we'll just have to see.

Case and point: Looking at some snapshots I literally thought Damian from some of the more recent issues was Tim at first...

If I was in charge at DC, I would sit down with everyone and nail down a definitive design for every character, and require that every artist draws them with the same features and characteristics in every book regardless of the timeline. They would be free to draw them in their own style of course - which is one of the appeals of having multiple artists - but the proportions and such would stay mostly the same. I would even do age progression examples for each character, in case a book is in the future or the past.

It gives me whiplash when the same character in the same series looks completely different from book to book, especially as an artist.

This is also a good opportunity to talk about this subject. I will never offer unsolicited critiques, and I will certainly never make fun of anyone's art (especially publicly). There seems to be a lot of this going around, now in the form of "fixing" other people's art. Too often the way in which it is done is condescending, rude, and from people who just want validation and attention. I refuse to be the reason someone loses their passion for art.

I have done un-solicited critiques of various media and art before, but only for projects coming from multi-billion dollar industries who should already know better. Even then, most of the issues I see there are from the studios and execs, not the artists. Most bad art from studios is a result of bad deadlines and/or weird requirements from the higher ups after all.

Anyway, now I have the urge to paint over and fix some of my old art lol!

"Don't do this or that trope" is not very helpful advice. First, often it's coming from someone's own personal taste in tropes. Second, tropes can be executed well or poorly.

The best way to decide is to compare 2 pieces of media that both have the same trope - one that is done poorly and one that is done well - and try to determine what makes one work and the other not work.

I've seen "this trope bad" statements thrown around a lot, and we should be sure to be more specific when talking about it. Chances are it's not the trope itself, but possibly just poor writing in whatever media you've consumed in the past that used the trope poorly.
