Do you ever feel too shy to draw people in pubic places? I do! I normally try to sneak a picture or two with my phone, and use them as reference so I don’t have to stare too much ☺️ Anyway, I spotted these two cuties in Kyoto, grabbing a bite in a small izakaya. It was my first day in the city, I was on my own and exhausted from wandering around all afternoon. I saw this tiny bright place and decided to go in and ask for a much needed ice cold beer. Working in my @flyingtigerjp sketchbook. This thing was like ¥300 and seriously it's great quality for the price, and has become my current favorite. It's been a long time since I've finished a sketchbook, and at this rate I'll definitely fill up the pages! Also using my go to mini travel palette from @hazelscott.ph on this sketch from Tongayata Garden last fall. Anyone else have a hard time keeping a sketchbook? I've used fine liners, ink brushes, watercolors, and markers in this book. Maybe having a cheap not so precious sketchbook helps. Not every page is a gem either. This bag belonged to my aunt who is a renowned artist in Japan. She passed away this year. My fondest memory of her was when I visited her in Saga when I was 4.
