OK to be fair jacobs loyalty mission is quick and fast its the fact that hes a fucking POS who took advantage of his position to outcast males and keep a haram of woman, and you might ask "well how does that work" cause they shipwrecked (a massive frieghter not for landing) on a planet thats uninhabited, their food stores are shot and so he kept the processed foods for himself and the crew that survived. and made the rest of the "unimportant" crew eat local food that made lost brain cognitive functions, in turn making people really really stupid. and he banished all the males, and kept all the woman. yes its implied heavily. I wish the fanon ending was true, coulda talking him into Heroing himself. but dude has no fucking emotions after it all. its just not very satisfying of an ending, and all that just ... feels kinda forced on by the writters I mean Its just a way to go with a story IG. just wasnt very satisfying as I was more interested in Wrex holding off the outsiders before we finished off our talk

BUT ANYWAYS, HOLY SHIT LAIR OF THE SHADOW BROKER IS THE FUCKING BEST GODDAMN DLC FOR MASS EFFECT AND I FINALLY PLAYED IT. I love going Renegade Shep for a majority of the game, why should I care if you have a 1 mother you plan on killing. the mission before jacobs I literally killed 304,942 Batarians in one move, and you think I wont shoot some random woman to kill someone so deadly? im not a cop, imma fuckin specter and were gonna blast you

There was like another boss fight earlier but not as good as the Spectres I thought was gonna be a cool fweind, everytime she went and hid away and yelled she was coming down I was in the power wheel so it froze in this section (miss me photo)

and so we got onto the ship, this fucking Lightning Chucker 3000. looked sick as hell (sorry forgot to get photos) this is finally where my Insanity Vanguard is unleashing, were launching into the fray pumping shotgun blasts AND using grunts move on myself to get super shields has made my survivability 200 times higher, I didnt even know that was a thing in this game and I would say without that buff Vanguard is stuck being a gimmiked Soldier

we found liars friend that she made after we fucknig blew up (he also helped saves us from me1 - me2) where he recovered our body with liara and gave them to Cerberus. hes a bro, I call him "Oil Slick" cause hes got a beautiful bald drell dome on him. But enough for .... our home boy, we needa bust him outta his Electric chair and to do that we need knock all power ya. so we confront the pussy faced "shadow broker" what an interesting species and what a POS one at that for murdering humans when we were barely getting off our rock in massacre's. Liara calling him out as a slaver kidnapping him as a literal war trophy / pet is all that hes worth anyways. So we started fuckin blastin. HE FUCKIN KNOCKS THE FUCK OUTTA OUR BOY GRUNT FOR THE ENTIRE FIGHT AND THEN WE GO INTO HAVING TO FIST FIGHT THE MFKER, i shoulda recorded it. BUT FUCK IT WAS SO COOL TO SEE VANGUARD SHEPARD FUCKING THROWING 1 2 WITH SOMETHING BIGGER THAN A FUCKING KROGAN

man shepard, is the best character in gaming. hands down.

I keep thinking of all the characters that never really interacted with each other and how they might react to one another. Anyways so here’s this.

No spoilers for mass effect 3 please <3

Mass effect characters I feel would be friends

If Kaiden stuck around in me2. I feel like him and Jacob would have been pretty close.

• Jacob was only with Cerberus because he felt like they were actually doing something to make a difference but he still didn’t like them.

• Kaiden clearly hates Cerberus. Being a firm Alliance golden boy and supporter of going through proper channels and you know not being a horrible abusive terrorist organization.

I think they could of had some interesting conversations together. Two different perspectives on how shit should get done, but both believe in doing good and hate Cerberus.

I sacrificed Ashley so I missed out on a ton of dialog. But Ashley was a good soldier and a loyal one. A bit flighty imo but I get why.

I looked up some of her dialogue a while ago and I noticed she calls out men being gross a number of times. She seems very protective most likely due to her being a sister.

• Miranda and Ashley would have been a great pair. They are both older sisters who would give anything to protect their family.

• I also feel like Ashley would try to connect with Jack. Idk if it would work. But I think Ashley could get as close as femshep gets to Jack. I feel like Ash wouldn’t take any of Jacks shit and because of that I think Jack would kinda respect her as much a Jack can.

• Kasumi, Tali, Ashley and Miranda imagine the girls nights, dragging Jack to be apart of it. All those girls know how to get into some trouble. They’d be a ton of fun together.

• Kasumi would love James. They’d be cute

• James and Jacob… On the one hand they could be bros. On the other I feel it is very likely they wouldn’t like each other idk why it’s just a vibe I get

• Thane and Samara I think would have been close. They were both experienced in killing people. Both have interesting moral codes. They both have strained relationships with their kids. I would have loved a cutscene between the two.

• Garrus and Thane, I think Garrus could have learned a lot from Thane.

Garrus in me2 thinks what he’s doing is the honorable thing and I don’t get the impression he feels a ton of guilt about it. It honestly seems like he’s killing for himself not for the greater good.

Thane has a very strict moral code about killing, he does not enjoy it but he does it because who else will. I feel if they talked Thane could have led Garrus in a better direction in handling justice, give him a better stance on what he’s fighting for.

• Grunt and Wrex!! They do interact on Tuchanka but not enough. Interactions between these too would be amazing.

• Odd one but I think interactions between Zaeed and Javik would be hilarious. They wouldn’t be friends at all. But i think they’d be rivals.

Jack: Big selection of illegal shit. You could thrive here if you‘re strong and ruthless. I like it.

Miranda & Jacob exchange:

Jacob: This place — how can these people be left to rot like this?

Miranda: You don‘t understand, or you don‘t want to?

Jacob: Does it really matter?

Miranda: No. Omega has worked this way for a very long time. No one‘s changing it now.

Samara:

Samara: People come to places such as this seeking a better life. And when they get here, they find.. this.

Thane:

Thane: The last time I was on Omega, I couldn‘t find work. You wouldn‘t think that an assassin could go hungry in a place like this. Seems locals handle that kind of thing themselves.

Miranda:

Miranda: Omega. What a pisshole. At least it keeps you on your toes. I‘ve had to come here on business before. I feel like I need a shower afterward— in addition to normal decontamination.

Legion:

Legion: We do not comprehend the organic fascination with self poisoning, auditory damage, and sexually transmitted diseases.

i would say jacobs loyalty quest is a good mission. Its a tense and terrible story, a somewhat predictable premise for an adventure story conflict, but like. Thats the problem. Its a good *sidequest*, not a good loyalty quest. We dont learn much that is unique about Jacob here. He already had problems with his father, and already wasnt speaking to him. It is terrible and Jacob reacts correctly, but there isnt really conflict or change in him here, to me? The other loyalty missions have much more changing moments and are more personal. They tell us new things or elaborate on what we know. Maybe the mission is more intense if you kill his father? I dont know.

The closest it gets to intriguing is the scene with TIM and the Miranda reveal at the end. But the game refuses to actually go into depth with Miranda and Jacobs relationship. Which sucks. Imo
