A man accused of involvement in the killing of James "White" Bulger in prison has said it's no secret an 80-year-old crime boss will appear there.

Kevin Weeks is an Irish-American former mobster and longtime friend and mob lieutenant to Whitey Bulger, the infamous boss of the Winter Hill Gang, a crime family based in the Winter Hill neighborhood in Somerville, Massachusetts. Kevin Weeks was born in South Boston, Massachusetts on March 21, 1956, to a working-class family of Irish and Welsh descent. He was the fifth child in a family of six and grew up in the Old Colony Housing Project at 8 Pilsudski Way, apartment 554. His father, John Weeks Sr., originally hailed from Brooklyn, New York. He changed tires for a living and later obtained a position with the Boston Housing Authority. John Sr. was a WWII veteran and had served in the infantry; he also had fought as a professional middleweight boxer (this may be incorrect as no record of him exists in BoxRec). When he was 26, he married Margaret, who was from Boston. A full-time homemaker, she suffered from severe arthritis and went about the family's tenement on crutches. Throughout high school, Weeks was involved in extra-curricular activities. When he wasn't boxing, he was on a team traveling to swim meets all over New England. His memoirs vividly describe how the busing controversy transformed the previously comparatively peaceful South Boston high schools into hotbeds of gang warfare. Weeks was released from Federal prison in early 2005. He collaborated with journalist Phyllis Karas (of People magazine). Weeks's account of his life with Bulger and Flemmi was published in March 2006. He was a star witness at Connolly's 2008 trial on state charges of murdering former World Jai Alai president John Callahan, as well as at Bulger's 2013 trial on racketeering charges two years after Bulger was finally captured. James Joseph "Whitey" Bulger Jr. (September 3, 1929 – October 30, 2018) was an American organized crime boss and FBI informant who led the Winter Hill Gang in the Winter Hill neighborhood of Somerville, Massachusetts, a city directly northwest of Boston. Fotios "Freddy" Geas (born April 4, 1967) is an American mobster involved with the Genovese crime family, based in New York City. He is a former Mafia hitman operating out of Springfield, Massachusetts and often worked with his brother Ty. Geas was born into a Greek family; therefore, he could not be a made member of the Italian Mafia. Geas and his brother Ty were well known enforcers feared within their community. The Geas brothers worked with Anthony Arillotta, another mobster. In 2003, Arillotta was formally inducted into the Genovese crime family. Arillotta had requested that the Geas brothers kill his brother-in-law, Gary Westerman. Acting boss Arthur Nigro also organized a hit on aging gangster, Adolfo Bruno. Both hits were carried out in 2003. In 2009, Geas was charged with the murder of Gary Westerman and Adolfo Bruno. He was also indicted as the getaway driver in the failed assassination attempt on Bronx cement union boss, Frank Dabado, after Dabado was involved in an argument with Nigro over Tony Bennett concert tickets. On October 29, 2018, infamous Boston gangster Whitey Bulger was transferred from the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City to United States Penitentiary, Hazelton, in West Virginia. At 8:20 a.m. on October 30, the 89-year-old Bulger was found unresponsive in the prison. Bulger was in a wheelchair and had been beaten to death by multiple inmates armed with a sock-wrapped padlock and a shiv. His eyes had nearly been gouged out and his tongue almost cut off. This was the third homicide at the prison in a 40-day span. Correctional officers had warned Congress just days before the most recent Hazelton death that facilities were being dangerously understaffed. James had a bump on his forehead and was crying, two bystanders asked what was wrong with James and Robert and Jon said “his was a younger brother “ or that “he was lost and they were taking him to a police station”. Eventually James, Robert and Jon arrived in the village of Walton where Robert and Jon led James up at steep bank to a railway line where Robert and Jon began to torture James. One of the boys threw blue Humbrol modelling paint into James’s left eye, Robert and Jon Kicked James, stamped on James and threw bricks and stones at James. Batteries were placed in James mouth and possibly his anus but non were found. A 22 pound iron bar was dropped on James’s head, James sustained 10 skull fractures. Before Robert and Jon had left James they laid James across the railway tracks and weighted his head down with rubble in hope that a train would hit James and his death look like a accident. Forensic pathologist testified that James had died before the train hit him. REST IN PEACE JAMES _ #jamesbulger
