I am extroverted, and I love meeting new people and making new friends! I have been called the “dad friend” by most of the people who know me, and yeah that checks out 😅 I am very optimistic and positive about most things, and I try to see the light and beauty in everything around me, and encourage others to do the same. I am very nurturing as a person, and I care for everyone around me. I use a large amount of slang that doesn’t make sense to the context 99% of the time (this is a personality trait wydm🙄/j). Hey, sorry to ask this, but a few days ago I saw a post/discussion about the history of original work on ao3 (i.e. how and when it was allowed). I thought it was in my likes, but it's not, and I thought you had reblogged it recently, but I didn't find it. I was wondering if you have seen this discussion around? Or where I can find more about it? This specific post talked abt how who defended original work on ao3 were not the BNFs, if that helps.

That was me running my mouth in the reblogs of something or other. It’s just the one comment.

But what’s that you say? Some tl;dr about a pet topic? Don’t mind if I do! ;) (To be honest, most of this debate happened years ago, and a lot of the long meta was by me back then too, so…)

Okay, so, the situation with Original Works is actually super interesting and a microcosm of early years OTW wank.

This is going to be even more tl;dr than my usual. To try to summarize very briefly:

There were two big cultural factions. One thought “original” was the opposite of “fan”. That one was in charge of OTW. It was hard to get voices from the other side into the debate because they already felt excluded from OTW.

This divide broke down more or less into Ye Olde Slash Fandom on the “it’s the opposite” side and anime fandom on the “WTF?” side. Americans on one side and a lot of non-US, non-English language fandom on the other.

I. Media Fandom, Anime Fandom, and Early OTW

I went to that first fundraising party that astolat threw in New York City back in… god… 2007? 2008? I wasn’t on the Board or any official position until the committees got started later, but I was around right from the very beginning.

Whether you’re looking at volunteers or at people who commented on astolat’s original post, there were always a variety of fans from a variety of fannish backgrounds. People aren’t absolutely in one camp or another, and fannish interests change over time. If you go dig through Dreamwidth posts to find who was actually participating in this debate at the time, half of them are probably in the other camp now.

If you think like that sounds like a preamble to me making a bunch of offensively sweeping generalizations and divvying fans up into little groups, you’d be right! Haha.

I.a. Ye Olde Media Fandom

There are a lot of camps of people who like fanfic. One of the biggest divisions has been Ye Olde Media Fandom vs. anime fandom. Astolat’s social circle–my LJ social circle–was filled with people with decades of fannish experience and a deep knowledge of the Media Fandom side of things.

Those fandom history treatises that start with K/S zines in Star Trek fandom in the 70s and move on through the mainstream buddy cops like Starsky & Hutch to the more niche, sff buddy cops like Fraser and Ray or Jim and Blair are talking about Media Fandom. I try to always capitalize it because the name is lulzy and bizarre to me unless it’s a proper noun for a specific historical thing. It was coined as a rude term for “mass media” fandom aka dumb people who like, ughhhh, Star Trek, ughhh, instead of books. This is a very ancient slapfight from the type of fandom you find at Worldcon, often called “SF fandom” or plain “fandom”.

(Yes, this leads to mega confusion on the part of some old dudes when they find Fanlore and fail to understand that “fandom” there refers to what these people would call “Media Fandom”. They think only they get the unmarked form. But I digress…)

Media Fandom is a specific flavor of fandom. It’s where the slash zines were. It’s where the fans of live action US TV shows were. It’s the history that acafans have laid out well and that tends to get used to defend the idea of a female subculture writing transgressive and transformative fanfic. On the video side, Media Fandom is where Kandy Fong invented vidding by making Star Trek slideshows.

(Kandy’s still around, BTW. She’s usually at Escapade in L.A. Ask her to tell you about the dancing penises sketch in person. She’s hilarious.)

Astolat and friends had been going to slash cons for years. They founded Vividcon. And Yuletide. That meant that when astolat said “Hey kids, let’s put on a show!” we all jumped to help. This is a lady who gets things done.

From a Worldcon perspective, or even from an older Media Fandom perspective, this group was comparatively young, hip, and welcoming. Their fandom interests were comparatively broad. Just look at Yuletide!

In fact, yes, let us look at Yuletide… [ominous music]

I.b. Yuletide sucks at anime

From the very first year (2003), Yuletide mods have asked for help with anime fandoms, been confused about anime fandoms, or made bad judgment calls about anime fandoms. They’ve fucked up on Superhero comics and plenty of other things over the years, but anime has been the most consistent (well, and JRPGs, but there’s so much overlap in those fic fandoms).

There was already bad feeling about this. There were years of bad feeling about this.

I.c. Where are the historians?

Academic study of fanficcy things pretty much got started with Textual Poachers and Enterprising Women. Other acafans who are well known to LJ and later Tumblr are people like Francesca Coppa who wrote a very nice summary of the history of Media Fandom. These are not the only academics who exist, these academics themselves have written about many other things, and by now, OTW’s own journal has covered a lot of other territory, but to this day I see complaints on Tumblr that “acafans” only care about K/S and oldschool slash fandom.

There were years of bad feeling about this as well.

I.d. What kind of fan was I?

Now, by the time OTW got started, I’d moseyed over to not only a lot of live action US TV but a lot of old-as-fuck US TV that is squarely in the Media Fandom camp. But once upon a time, I was a weeaboo hanging out with my weeaboo friends in college. I learned Japanese (sort of). I moved to Japan. Livin’ the weeaboo dream!

More importantly, I used to be a member of a lot of anime mailing lists back in the Yahoo Groups days. I didn’t realize what a cultural gap that would cause until the original works issue came up on AO3.

I.e. Anime Fandom, German-language Fandom, Original M/M

Once upon a time–namely in that Yahoo Groups era–there was an archive called Boys in Chains. It was where you found The Good Stuff™. Heavy kink and power exchange galore! It was extremely well known in the parts of fandom I was in, even if you weren’t on the associated mailing list. It contained lots of fic, but it also had lots of original work.

Around that same era, I was on a critique list called Crimson Ink, which was mixed fic and original. The “original slash” and “original yaoi” crowds mixed freely and were in fanfic spaces. Remember, this is like 2003. You’re never going to get your gay fantasy novel published in English in the US. A couple of fangirl presses started around then, but they died an ignominious death after their first print run.

Fanfiction.net used to allow original work before it spun that off into FictionPress. We forget this today, but if you were an early FFN person, the separation wasn’t so great either.

Meanwhile, German-language fandom was hanging out on sites like Animexx.de, a big-ass fic archive that prominently mentions also including original work. I have the impression that Spanish-language fandom was similar too.

Shousetsu Bang*Bang was founded in 2005. It was a webzine for original m/m, but it was entirely populated by fanfic fandom types.

In all of those kinds of spaces, there was a lot of “original” work that was kind of slash or BL-ish and seen as fannish if it was posted in the fannish space. These weren’t anime-only spaces. They were multifandom spaces where it was seen as obvious and normal that a couple of huge fandoms like Harry Potter would dominate but that everything else big would naturally be anime.

While fans from every background are everywhere, I found that the concentration of EFL fans living in Continental Europe, South America, and Asia was much higher in this kind of space, even the exclusively English language part of it, than in my US TV fandoms.

II. AO3 Early Adopters

AO3 went into closed beta in 2009. In 2010, it was open to the general public (albeit with the invitation queue it still has). But not everyone was interested yet. Just like fandom is loath to leave the dying, shambling mess of Tumblr, fandom was loath to leave dwindling LJ/DW circles or was happy enough on Fanfiction.net. I used to see a lot of posts like “Why are you guys trying to STEAL fanfic from the original! FFN is enough!”

I literally could not give away the invitations I had. No one wanted them.

So who was on AO3? Obviously enough, it was all of us who built it and our friends. So that means a bunch of oldschool Livejournal slashers coming from fandoms like Due South or Stargate Atlantis.

The queue was open. Anyone could make an account. Everyone was welcome. In theory…

But more and more, there started to be these posts about how “AO3 Hates Anime Fandom” and “FFN is for anime. AO3 is for Western fandoms.” and “If you guys actually wanted anime fandom on there, you’d invite us better and make us more welcome.”

At the time, I found these posts obnoxious. People aren’t purely in one sort of fandom or the other. No one was stopping anime fandom from making accounts. No one was banning anime fandom. If there wasn’t much from old fandoms, that was because old fandoms seldom move.

Things began to change. Trolls on FFN forced the Twilight porn writers out, creating enough fuss and brouhaha to mobilize people who would rather have stayed put. AO3 got big enough that randos found it by accident. Original work started to pop up, posted by people who’d never looked at the rules and had no idea it was not allowed.

III. History of AO3’s Policy

I had argued for allowing “original work” during the initial discussions about the ToS. On one side of this issue was me. On the other, everyone else on the committee.

I was overruled.

Open Door started importing old archives to save them. Boys in Chains was hugely important to fandom history from my point of view. It was slated to be imported… maybe. Except that Boys in Chains is half original. AO3 was happy to grandfather in those stories, but the final archive owner felt, quite rightly, that it would be unfair to tell half of the authors they were welcome in the new space while spitting on the other half.

I was pissed. I had been pissed since being overruled the first time. To me, the fact that it should be allowed was so blatantly obvious that it was hard to even explain why.

(To be honest, this difficulty in explaining why and the even greater difficulty in figuring out the source of that difficulty is what held the discussion back for so long. When every assumption on either side is completely opposite, it’s hard to communicate.)

I felt betrayed. It would be like if you helped build something, and everyone was suddenly like “Well, obviously, we can’t allow m/m. It’s not normal fanfic.”

So we discussed it again and, again, it was me vs. literally everyone else. And still the “AO3 is only for Western slash fandom” bitching rose in volume and more and more people complained of feeling excluded from the new fandom hub. Finally, the committee agreed to open the issue up for public comment and get some more input. I was a fool and neither wrote nor proofread the post. It went out phrasing the question as allowing “non fannish” work or something of that sort.

I was furious. The entire point of the whole debate was that I saw some original work, the original work that belongs on AO3, as inherently fannish. And now this had been presented to the AO3 audience as something completely different. Think pieces were popping up in the journals of everyone I knew about diluting AO3’s mission and how we needed to save AO3 from encroachment. Public opinion was very negative. That’s both because of how the post was phrased and because OTW die hards at the time were mostly from the same fannish background. This tidal wave of negativity meant that there was virtually no chance of changing this poisonous rule. And if the rule didn’t change, the people who wanted the rule change were never going to show up to explain why it mattered.

If you’ve been reading my tumblr, I think you can guess what happened next.

I posted a long post to my Dreamwidth. It was a masterwork of passive aggression. In it, I wrung my hands about how simply tragic it would be if AO3 had to delete all of the original work… like anthropomorfic.

Now, I think anthropomorfic counts as fanfic as much as anything else, but I also knew that it fails most rigorous “based on a canon” type definitions of fic and, more importantly, it’s a favorite Yuletide fandom of many of the people on the side that wanted to ban original work.

That’s a nice fandom of yours. It would be a pity if something happened to it.

Yup. Passive aggressive blackmail. Go me. Suddenly, there was a lot of awkward backtracking and confused running in circles in various journals. The committee agreed to table the idea for a while but not rule out the idea of allowing original works in the future. We agreed to halt all deletions of original work. If a fan posted it, the Abuse Committee (which I was also head of at the time) would not delete that work even though it was technically against the rules.

Time passed. The people on the negative side got tired. I wanted off that committee and had wanted off for ages, but I was damned if I was going to leave before ramming through this piece of policy. Grudgematch till I die! (Look, I never said I wasn’t a wanker.)

After a while, some other fans came forward with more types of “original work” as evidence that it should be allowed. These were from parts of fandom none of us on the committee knew a damn thing about.

This new evidence combined with the gradual accretion of original stuff on AO3 without the sky falling eventually led us to quietly rule Original Work a valid fandom. There was never even a big announcement post. I slipped a word to the Boys in Chains mod myself.

IV. What Were They So Afraid Of Anyway?

So why were people so resistant? Seems like a dick move, right?

Not exactly.

I mean, I was enraged and waged a one-woman war to change the rules, but the other side wasn’t nuts. The objections were usually the following:

I just don’t get why it would be allowed. It never was in my fannish spaces.

Most of our members don’t want this.

Most of the examples of things that ought to be included are m/m. We are privileging m/m if we allow it, and AO3 already has a m/m-centric reputation that can feel exclusionary to some fans.

AO3 is a young, shaky platform that can barely handle the load and content we already have. If we open to original work, we’ll be opening the floodgates. The volume of posting will be so high, it will drown out the fic we’re actually here to protect.

Protecting stuff that doesn’t need protection because it’s not an IP issue would dilute OTW’s mission.

If we allow it, idiots will try to turn AO3 into advertising space, posting only the first chapter and a link to where you can pay to read the rest.

If we add another category of text before we add fan art, that’s a slap in the face of the fan artists we are already failing.

These arguments all make perfect sense in context.

Obvously, the issue with the first two is that different fannish communities have different norms. I knew that a very large community disagreed with the then current AO3 policy, but since so few of them were around to comment, it seemed like a tiny fringe minority.

The m/m thing is… complex. M/M content with zero IP issues is at risk. It is always at risk in a way that even f/f is not (though f/f is also always at risk). Asking for m/m to be exactly equivalent to f/f or m/f in numbers, tropes, whatever is ignoring the historical realities. In our current moment of queer activism in the West, we treat all types of queerness as part of one community with one set of goals, but once you get to culture and art or even more specific activism, this forced homogenization is neither useful nor healthy.

OTOH, AO3 really did have PR problems related to the perception that we gave m/m fandom the kid glove treatment. That objection wasn’t coming from nowhere.

AO3 was shaky. It was tiny when I first brought up this argument. Hell, it wasn’t even in closed beta the first time we discussed this. Part of what made the quiet rules change possible was AO3 organically getting much bigger and OTW having to buy many more servers for unrelated reasons.

The “floodgates” thing was put to rest by tacitly allowing original work before the rules change. We had a period to study how fans actually behaved, and as I predicted, only a small amount of original work got posted. It was indeed mostly things like original BL-ish stories or original work that had been part of a mixed original/fic fest, exchange, zine, etc. Currently, the “Original Work” fandom on AO3 only has 76,348 works. That’s pretty big compared to individual fandoms but tiny compared to AO3’s current size.

The commercial argument was spurious because commercial spam had been against the rules from the very beginning. OH THE IRONY that nowadays AO3 has all these idiots trying to post the first chapter of their fanfic and then direct you to where you can buy the rest.

AO3 has plenty of fanfic of public domain works. One of the problems with gatekeeping original work is that any way you try to distinguish it (not based on a specific canon, not an IP issue, etc.) will apply to some set of obviously allowable fandoms.

As for fan art… OTW has failed fan artists. They needed protection as much as or even more than fic writers. Just look at Tumblr! If we had succeeded at making DeviantArt but allowing boners, fan art fandom could have been safe all these years. Or when Tumblr inevitably shat the bed, we could have scooped up all those people instead of them scattering to twitter and god knows where.

OTW has failed vidders too, at least in terms of preservation. I know I’m not the only one who thinks this. Other major people from like the first Board and shit have discussed this with me offline. Doing some kind of vidding project, possibly outside of OTW is on a lot of our to-do lists. But at least one of OTW’s biggest victories has been that copyright exemption. OTW has demonstrably done really positive things for vidders that other organizations and sites have not. As a vidder, I never expected to see good hosting for the actual video files, and I’m quite content.

But fan artists… yeah. That argument makes sense at least from a place of frustration.

BTW, for the love of god, if you’re a n00b to OTW stuff, please do not reblog this post excitedly telling me that hosting fan art is on OTW’s road map, so yay, good news. Someone always does that, and it’s so irritating. I haven’t been involved in OTW in years, but I used to be, and I know what is on the roadmap. The couple of you who do heavy lifting on sysadmin and coding and policy things are welcome to weigh in as usual. I know none of us like that we can’t host fan art. It’s not what we intended.

Nonetheless, I found this argument to be the perfect being the enemy of the good. If we can save more text now without losing much of anything, we should do it. The fact that we’re fucking up on the fan art front is not a reason to spread the misery around.

V. Is “Original” the Opposite of “Fanfic”?

Okay, so that tl;dr above is why “BNFs” were on one side and “nobodies” were on the other. BNFs from one cultural background founded OTW. BNFs from the other cultural background weren’t even aware that the debate was going on.

But what was the underlying philosophical problem in even having the conversation?

It took me a long time, but I finally worked it out: We had two completely different ways of categorizing writing, and they were so baked into how we phrased questions that everything ended up being unanswerable to the other side. Here is what I came up with:

Schema 1

Fanfic - based on someone else’s IP

Original Work - the opposite

Schema 2

Non-Fannish Work - School essays, stories you are writing to try to sell to a mainstream publisher

Fannish Work Type 1 - based on other people’s characters directly (i.e. fanfic) Type 2 - based on tropes or whatever (“original slash” and the like)

Now, in the current moment when half of Tumblr just got into Chinese webnovels and the m/m ebook industry is thriving in English, original, tropey, BL-ish work is no longer different from “things I am trying to sell”. But this is how the divide was circa 2005 on fannish websites, and it’s the divide that was driving this internal OTW debate.

VI. Let’s Summarize the Camps One More Time

So, again, the debate makes perfect sense if you understand who was involved.

On the mainstream “But that’s not fanfic? I’m confused?” side:

Big US TV fandoms in English

Fandom historians of K/S–>buddy cop slash–>SGA, etc.

Americans

On the other side:

Anime fandom

“Original slash” fandom that had already been chased off of everywhere

People upset that AO3 wasn’t farther on translating the interface and supporting non-English language fandom.

People upset about US-centrism in fandom

Yes, I am very white, very American, and by now very into old buddy cop shows, but this was basically how the breakdown worked. It meant that something that looked like a minor quibble to one side was really, really not.

Friday Night Funkin’: Mid-Fight Masses VS. Lina outline

So.....I said I wouldn’t ever write again.....b-but things changed. I-I got.....ideas, and was.....e-encouraged to write them out. >//////>

I dunno how to really.....explain what this is. I know I won’t ever be able to make my own mod, this is just.....what one would look like if I could. This is going in my fic tag, but it’s not a full-blown fic. It’s a script. B-but that still counts as writing for me, so....into the fic tag it goes.

This makes more sense if you read Lina’s profile, so you better understand who she is, but it’s not a requirement (also that profile is pretty big, pfffff). I....I think this still gives a pretty good picture of what she’s like.....?

I might do more with her in the future. MIGHT. W-we’ll see.....I do have a few ideas, it’s just a matter of motivation.....I do know that future stories would take place after the events here.

Lina: *she immediately brings her notebook to her chest protectively* H-huh? E-excuse me-?

Boyfriend: *steps towards her curiously* Bop bop bo bee-

Lina: *steps back* I-I wasn’t writing anything!

Boyfriend: Skadop beep!

Lina: N-no, I wasn’t writing anything!

Girlfriend: My boyfriend wants to know if you write music! And if you do, could you show him?

Lina: *she feels her heart skip a beat as she’s found out by crazy random chance* I....I-I don’t-

Boyfriend: Boop

Lina: N-no, wait-

~First song: Preamble~ On the slower side, but still has a rhythm to it (I’d imagine it picks up a bit after a certain point, but not by much). Like in “Lo-Fight”, Boyfriend starts. The song fits Lina’s shy, reserved personality as she clearly is very nervous singing. Her inexperience at rapping makes the song pretty simple and easy to beat. There are a few long notes in there to make it sound like she’s singing at parts.

Lina: O-oh gosh, I can’t believe I did that....ah, so embarrassing.....!

Boyfriend: Bop beep bo beep!

Girlfriend: You have a really nice voice.

Lina: D-don’t lie to me please....Th-that was awful....*hides her face in her hand*

Boyfriend: Beep beep

Lina: S-sorry.....but, um....please leave me alone- *turns to walk away, but Boyfriend and Girlfriend follow her*

Girlfriend: You should sing more!

Lina: S-stop.....

Girlfriend: But you should!

Lina: N-no I shouldn’t!

Lina: P-please go away....I’m....n-not good at anything....

Lina: I-I’m just a huge coward....th-that’s all I am, a coward.....I-I can’t handle stuff like this....

Lina: Ms. Sarvente would know what to do.....Sh-she’s probably better than me at everything....

Lina: *stops walking* .....

Boyfriend: ?

Girlfriend: ?

Lina: O-OK....I’ll try again....if it’ll make you leave....

~Second song: Envious~ A lot faster and more difficult than the previous song, with some rapid-fire back and forth. The most difficult song of the mod, but not overwhelmingly so. There’s at least one nod to “Parish”. The mood is that Lina is pushing herself too far to the point of stress. She’s not having a good time.

*after the song ends, Lina is completely out of breath*

Lina: *panting* W-was.....that.....good....enough....?

Boyfriend: Boop ba beep?

Lina: I-I’m.....OK.....j-just gimme a second.....*huff huff*.....S-see? I told you, I’m...not good at this....

Girlfriend: Well, you didn’t need to try so hard. It’s not a competition.

Lina: N-not a-?

Girlfriend: Yeah! We just wanted to hear you sing more!

Boyfriend: Beep beep!

Lina: ....Y-you weren’t trying to bother me? O-oh...

Lina: I-I’m sorry.....I might’ve gone a bit overboard....Th-that isn’t how I usually, uh.....*too embarrassed to finish the sentence*

Girlfriend: You’re still really good.

Lina: I-I’m not....th-this is just a hobby I do when I’m alone....I-if you really wanna listen to someone who’s talented and confident, you should....go see Ms. Sarvente sometime....Sh-she’s looking for new members anyway....

Boyfriend: ......Skbeep?

Lina: .....Th-that reaction.....Do you know Ms. Sarvente?

Boyfriend: Beep!

Girlfriend: We’ve....met her, yeah.

Lina: .....O-oh.....gosh, I didn’t know! I-I’m so sorry! I-I thought you were just- uh- I-I’m sorry!

Lina: Th-there I go, being a nuisance again.....Ha...hahaha.....*she smiles for once as she laughs nervously*

Girlfriend: It’s fine. We were just passing by, when we heard you humming.

~Third song: Unwind~ Easier and slower-paced than the last song. Has a laid-back feel to it. If I had to compare it to something, I’d compare it to “Fading”, but less bittersweet. Lina’s calming down and warming up to Boyfriend, and maybe even enjoying herself for once! There’s more singing than rapping. It’s symbolizing that she’s staying more in her comfort zone rather than unfairly pushing herself.

Lina: I-I hope that was better...

Boyfriend: Beep bop ba bop!

Lina: S-sorry again for being such a coward....Y-you two don’t seem so bad....Uh, I hope it’s OK to say that...

Girlfriend: Will you sing again sometime?

Lina: .....I, um.....dunno....*which means: “probably not”*

I’m going to answer another ask outside of this post that details this but I’ll answer this one here too. The way me and ayoshi do packs is not like a usual collab (in my opinion I don’t think people collab like this). I am good at making meshes. So usually I make a mesh for something and ayoshi makes a base texture that I can use to finish the base of the top/bottom and then we work together to fix any texture issues. Nothing we’ve made has ever been 100% mine or 100% his except for the hairs. Sometimes a mesh is easy but the texture requires a lot of work so it’s more work for him, sometimes I decide I want to try and texture something (like with this AxA I made textures for some of the clothes) and then ayoshi will clean the texture up for me and add some shading for me. So it’s a lot different than what I imagine most collabs are. But I love the way me and him work together and the ability to change something I don’t like because it isn’t just his, it’s ours.

I’m not sure if there are people that specifically only do that but I think there are a handful of creators that get inspired from kpop/music videos and make hairs similar to that. Cause we use EA meshes most of the time the hairs aren’t going to look exactly like the inspiration though. Like I have two hairs that are based off Go Won from loona (Go Won hair and Kelsey Hair) but i don’t think you can tell that just from looking at them.

(I’m cutting this all a bit short. For the Ao3 thing I’ll be in a non-direct timeline, so Henry can still be tormented, but I wanna finish this for the blog- maybe not good, but right. Also, if anyone is curious, I was jamming out to the The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth mod soundtrack, namely Morphine and Innocence Glitched and you totally should listen to them, because now I associate them WAY too much with Henry and Dave respectively)

Henry scoffed. “… you are merely helping me. Now it will be easier to avoid the demon staying inside of the office.” That was a bit of a lie. It wasn’t that easy. But it didn’t matter. 50/20 go, go, go! How long until certain movements became a second nature? How long until surprise machines became meaningless? How long until he won? 50/20 go, go, go! Tricks and exploits. The machines stumbling over each other to get to him- There was only a handful of them that instantly approached when failed… … and those could be contained. 50/20 go, go, go! He lost count. But he was making ground. He was getting there. 50/20 go, go, go It was too easy. If it was based on chance… … then it was too easy. Why- Why was it this easy? Why was it- possible? The thoughts weren’t hunting him while he was playing- But they crashed into him when it was over. When they were gone. When it was quiet. All machines. All mechanics. They all were deactivated. The place felt- dead. After all the chaos, after all the pain, after him days, weeks- months?! … it was over. He felt cold. Not successful. Not excited. Not amazed. Just cold. Stumbling around, he managed to make his way out, his hands shaking from all the stress. He could breathe. He had space. … god, he hadn’t realized how much of a toll this project had taken on him. Now it was done though. Thankfully. Making his way back towards the office, he wondered what was waiting for him. Congratulations? Fury? Nothing at all? As he opened the door, he figured out- it was the third option. What was waiting for him wasn’t the void. It wasn’t the nothingness- it was merely empty. There was something occupying the space already, making a space… It felt so oddly floaty and muted. Goosebumps crawled up Henry’s arms and neck as he heard a deep, almost droned up tone rhythmically sounding from the back. Music? Stepping inside, the Pink Guy moved forwards, feeling slightly better the longer he walked. This was something he could live with, this almost felt familiar. There was an EXIT to this place- back to the office- and it didn’t disappear, that was rather easy to recognize by simply checking over the shoulder. There was PERMANENCE to his surroundings. Finally- In the distance. Something. Twitching. As he approached, it became clearer- The suit. Shaking and shuddering. For a second he felt worried- as though there was something he could even DO. Still, something compelled him to stop and look at the creature. Poor, pitiful, confused creature. “… tell me… what are you…? Why are you here?” The suit didn’t respond. It seemed drained, pained. … this wasn’t his fault however. Not this time. Slowly kneeling down beside him, he tried to catch a good look at the eyes- Then a voice from behind caused him to almost jump. “… he’s fine. He’ll be fine. I can’t say the same about you though.” The kid. Standing up slowly Henry didn’t turn yet. … this time, the voice sounded more… familiar. “There you are.” Henry mumbled. “… you took your time to face me. Were you scared?” It however just- sounded tired. “No.” “Then why were you hiding?” There was a moment of silence, long and cold. Finally, a sigh. “No, Henry. I wasn’t hiding. I was trying to make it more fun for you with a little mystery.” And that was the point where it felt like a few things that were titled before slid into place. It took a bit of gathering… … then Henry turned around. Dave was standing there, looking up at him. So small. So fragile. So- Disappointed. For a moment both of them looked at each other, Dave swiftly changing under his eyes, turning into his suited up form. The golden bunny shined slightly in the darkness, as he looked down at him in turn once more. Flickering. Incapable of maintaining a single form. It took another moment- Then Henry stepped back. “… so. This was your work. You were keeping me here, tormenting me. I was right with everything I said.” “No. You don’t even know how wrong you were.” Turning away from him, the- soul- moved away from him and the suit. But he continued. “Henry. I’ve grown tired of you. I think you don’t know how much I did for you.” “What did you ever do for me.” “I’ve protected you when you were alive. I’ve made this place when you were dead. I didn’t have to be here. I’ve made a mystery. I created something that for all intends and purposes you should like- while keeping up my deal with Fredbear. I wanted you to be happy, busy. To find some sort of balance for you.” There was such a confidence to the claim, that it caused Henry to pause. Still, he was too frustrated. “… perhaps you should have listened to me when I said I am not happy.” “Maybe. Yes, maybe. But then, what would have made you happy? You wanted to leave- and to where? To do what? What were you trying to find? There’s nothing out for there you anymore.” Henry had no response, for once in his life. Which Dave took as his chance to continue on, flickering between all his form at a rapid pace. The voice adjusting with each form- It almost sounded like multiple people talking at once. “We’ve been spending a lot of time together recently. And I think I learned something. Despite your insistence that I never learn.” One thing all of his forms had in common- their glares were all cold. “I think I get you now. I think I now know, Henry- you’re a lost cause.” “Are you-“ “No, hush, please, for the last time in our lives, wait for a moment to listen to me.” For a moment the soul closed its eyes, then opened them again. “You were my best friend. The childhood friend I imagined to have when I was young. With you, I felt so utterly myself. But… you lied. You told it to my face, after all this time.” Raising to his full height, Dave stared him down. “Henry. I want you to know, with all of your words, with all of your claims… you were wrong. Henry, I want you to know: YOU disappointed ME.” “You little-“ “You’re done. Henry, stop talking. There’s nothing to talk about anymore. I’m done. The exit is over there.” There was nothing but… calmness left in Dave’s voice. “You will leave. And you will not come back. This isn’t a place for you anymore.” Completely dumbstruck Henry stared at the creature. “I- what?” “You heard me. I put so much effort into this, hoping you’d like it.” He made a vague movement around himself. “But you didn’t. And I guess you can be angry with me for not realizing that you didn’t actually want immortality, or that you didn’t actually want to be near your machines… I thought I knew you and I thought I’d make a nice place for both of us to play in- within reason- and that maybe you’d be happy. But you’re not. And y’know what, Henry? I don’t think you’ll ever be. But that’s not my problem anymore.” With that Dave turned to leave, disappearing into nothingness, as though he was simply fading away. For another moment Henry stood there, disbelieving- Then the suit next to him started to calm down and he realized, he had to leave fast, otherwise he would lose his chance to be free. Moving towards the exit, shimmering red, he wanted to hesitate- And then there was red water. Red, hot, burning water everywhere.

When he managed to crawl out of the lake, he looked around. Back at the lake. A fishing rod was on the pier… and nothing else. Making a noise, as loud as his throat could produce- Nothing. Not even birds flying up. Slowly Henry caught his breath, realizing that there was no place to go. The forest was too close together, at least right now. Maybe- maybe it would change, soon. Maybe he would leave. His fingers found the red rod besides him, grabbing it tightly, getting some comfort from the wood that felt very real, unlike the air around him. Right now there was nothing that he could do. So he would fish. And wait.

After fighting off sleep for multiple hours, may I present too you, every song in the feb 27 2021 version of the billboard rock charts ranked. I don’t know why I thought this was a good idea.

5/5 Come and Go- I love this song, the lyrics are great, the guitar is great, even the drop is decent. Way Less Sad-Best song from this OKO so far. Mainly because they didn’t over blow the chorus like in My Play. Forget me too- Amazing duet, I haven’t listened to the full album but I’m willing to bet this is the best song on it Heat Waves- The rock charts have an unusual amount of influence from YouTubers, first Corpse got a couple minor hits, then this song became a big hit, apparently in part because of Minecraft YouTuber fanfic. Anyways this song is one of the few I’ve had on repeat for a while Coney Island- A lot of the Taylor songs here are good but not in a way I can explain Pluto Projector- Instant classic 4/5 It’s the damn season- A lot of the Taylor songs here are good but not in a way I can explain My ex’s best friend- MGK and Blackbear go really well together Monsters- Really like this one, not much else to say. Blackbear is here I guess, you could say I’m a fan of his Drunk Face- MGK is good at this whole punk thing Bang!- Wasn’t a fan at first but it’s been growing on me Skin and Bones- Cage the Elephant deserves to be known for more than Rest for the Wicked, I’ve listened to some of their stuff, and it’s all great Mood- mood (heh) Someone too you- It’s the Go Vacation theme but sad Without You- The Kid LAROI is the successor to Juice WRLD, and so far he’s doing great, both musically and mentally (I think, this is a emo breakup rap song without a single allusion to drugs so that’s a good sign right?) Help herself- Pretty good, glad to see one of the La La La guys getting hits Therefore I Am- Were the 30 sec interludes of nothing in the mv really necessary? Champagne problems- It’s the Go Vacation theme but sad again Long Story Short-A lot of the Taylor songs here are good but not in a way I can explain. This gets extra points because it fills the hole in my heart left by my permanent singleness. Paparazzi- Finally, I can listen to Paparazzi without hearing Punch a Nazi. Of course it sounds like CoD zombies now but that’s not a bad thing. Ivy- “and now I’m covered in you” lol wtf Taylor Fire for You- Sort of sound like it should be in a Summoning Salt video. Willow- A lot of the Taylor songs here are good but not in a way I can explain Tolerate it- A lot of the Taylor songs here are good but not in a way I can explain Gold Rush- A lot of the Taylor songs here are good but not in a way I can explain Trouble Coming- Just some good rock, nothing more, nothing less All my Favorite Songs- AJR is releasing an album called Ok Orchestra and Weezer just released one called Ok Human. Coincidence? Probably Drugs (Tai Verdes)- This is what a song called drugs should sound like Dancing in My Room- This song makes me happy Happiness- A lot of the Taylor songs here are good but not in a way I can explain 3/5 Waiting on a war- Everyone’s favorite aids denialists have a swing and a miss, musically it’s fine, good even, but the lyrics, which seem to be the focus, are boring and repetitive Shame shame- eh Heading South- eh You- Eh Jealous-eh 2/5 Redemption- yawn The bandit- yawn Lo Vas A Olvidar- I’d probably like this song better if I spoke Spanish, which I don’t. Also why is this a duet, a quick glance at the translation makes it seem like Rosalía and Billie are supposed to be the same person. Evermore- Bon Iver ruined it Plastic Hearts- This would have been good if Miley decided to use anything other than fucking BONGOS for the percussion Flames- Probably should of just been Avril, MOD’s voice is quite unpleasant. Also the first verse ends too soon, it feels unnatural Fly away- Tones and I’d voice was fine on Dance Monkey, if a bit annoying, but Dance Monkey didn’t put that much emphasis on the lyrics, this one does Drugs (UPSAHL)- Does anyone know why she came to the party? I missed it.

Flux is my favorite bar in all of the first game, I know there’s not many to choose from, but I like the music best, everybody’s clothed, everyone’s having a good time, there’s slots upstairs for entertainment, there’s dancing, and plenty of space to chill out in. Also the color scheme is great. It looks particularly great now with the graphics mod improvements.

I’m a tattle tale who always turns this guy in. I agree with Kaidan...

Also I really love Rita’s quest with her sister. She loves her sister, Jenna wants to be helpful, even Doran’s like “Hey I’d love to give her her job back.” Everyone here is pretty wholesome. And Jenna gets one of the best surprise appearances in ME3 if you do things right. ME1Recalibrated fixes the bugs with her quest, too!

Speaking of bugged quests, Hello Conrad! ME1Recalibrated fixes Conrad’s bug, and even if it doesn’t, ME2Re does. The only bad thing about that is it makes his apology for accusing you of something you maybe didn’t do make no sense.

Everyone else was sure Conrad would turn out to be evil, too, right? Instead making him into just a big lying dummy with an advanced degree was a great move. I was kinda hoping he’d show up in the Citadel DLC.

Harkin is JUST the FUCKING WORST. I’m always tempted to let Garrus cap him in ME2 because what a waste of air he is and doesn’t learn his lesson.

This is also maybe the most overt place where FemShep experiences sexism. I mean, don’t get me wrong, there’s some pretty shitty sexism sprinkled throughout the games (as discussed a bit last post) but ugh this guy, if I could shoot him this game, I might. At least on renegade playthroughs.

Speaking of Garrus...

Finally, an alien who wants to hang out with us.

As primarily a Kaidan-romancing gal, who tends to keep up with the Kaidan Alenko tag, especially back in the heyday of tumblr, for a while, loving Garrus was... difficult.

In October, when I was finishing up my latest ME3 playthrough and also cleaning up my blog, and also rewatching Doctor Who and thinking a lot about Rose Tyler and Martha Jones, I posted a long thing in a post about Kaidan and Garrus and badly behaving fanbases, which I don’t feel like typing again. Here’s the whole thing, but I’m going to pull a part of it into here.

I love Garrus, so much. And I was thinking with this whole parallel DW rewatch / Mass Effect replay think I’m doing right now how both Rose Tyler and Garrus Vakaraian are characters that were ruined for me for awhile due to their respective… overly enthusiastic fanbases who a small percentage of were dicks to people who loved other characters. The Kaidan tag (and from what I understand Thane got some of this too, but not nearly as bad) was a pretty hostile place for awhile (and yeah I used to regularly check the Garrus tag too and there was a small amount of tag-invasion there but uh, like 5% of what the Kaidan tag got) which made loving the character of Garrus a lot harder for awhile. But when actually watching seasons 1 & 2 / the end of 4 of Doctor Who, or actually playing the ME games, those characters are awesome.

Fanbases can be amazing or terrible, and time and time again I think you start to realize that no matter how great a fandom is, there are going to be a few people who can only enjoy themselves by feeding on drama, or on lifting up what they love by stomping on other people/characters/plotlines.

It’s not fair to characterize everyone who loves a popular thing as someone who does this. It’s also hard to avoid completely because there will always be jerks, or young/new people who don’t realize what bad form they’re showing. I did learn by trying to fight it for a year or two, that responding might help that one person not do it again, but it’s not going to stop overall.

Anyway, don’t be a dick about the things you don’t like.

It’s sad that even thirteen years past the release of ME1 and eight years past ME3 some people still need to have this fight online. It’s basically impossible to enjoy like, any non-curated Mass Effect space online because of pissing contests or people spouting the same boring opinions. Which they’re entitled to. I’m just real tired of “Kaidan is boring!” “Ashley is a racist!” etc with no further depth of thought being given.

The ability to mute / block people and get away from the worst of it is one of the reasons I’m still on tumblr. Especially always mute/block “confessions” blogs. Yeesh.

I’m glad Garrus is here, and I’m glad he’s on the team. What’s funny though, is that people tend to forget that Garrus like, wasn’t really all THAT popular of a character before ME2. I know I was only in the fandom for a year before ME2 but I dug in pretty deep in that time.

It wasn’t until he gets his face blown off and starts talking about Old Times that a lot of people started to REALLY like him. He’s still great in ME1, but not like, elevated to god-tier that so many people did post ME2 release. But in ME1 he IS neat because he’s really malleable. Probably the companion who can have the biggest personality shift depending on your choices.

Also, I remember a time when the people who wanted to romance Garrus were like... outliers? I remember thinking “GARRUS? As a romance? That’s... weird. Who would do that!?”

OH HOW I WAS WRONG. But that was before reach and flexibility.

Hey I even have a Shep that romanced Garrus in ME2 and ME3. And I loved it!

Were I to replay a different Shep, she’d be my first choice.

So yeah, I love Garrus, I keep Kaidan in the squad all the time in ME1 and the other spot I try to rotate everyone else somewhat evenly, but you’ll see plenty of him. Then ME2 he’s by my side most of the way. And an awful lot in ME3, too. But I’m happy for him to get crushed on by Dr. Michele and glad to see him and Tali find happiness in ME3. SO that’s the path we’ll be going down if we get that far here.

I love the Destiny Ascension flyby moment on the Citadel, and it’s so easy to miss. Also really hard to get good screenshots of. Thanks Flycam. Don’t pay attention to the untextured wall in the first pic, just look at the pretty lights!

Let’s go get another squadmate! This time, a not-as-initially-friendly alien!

What an amazing entrance for Urdnot Wrex.

“I want you to try!”

Hell. Yeah.

Here’s where the somewhat in somewhat evenly comes in. I probably do favor Wrex and Ashely in the squad in ME1 a little because... well you know what’s coming for Ash and Wrex you get the least amount of time with by far of the other companions. Also, he’s just... great? A tank, with some biotics and a shotgun... okay well so am I as a vanguard, but Kaidan has just enough tech powers for us to muddle through where we need to when Wrex is in the squad and he’s so much fun to have around. His “Fuck you, I don’t care” attitude is great, and his growth story throughout the trilogy is one of the best arcs a character gets, imho. I just really love Urdnot Wrex.

This is a real nice flight control office you’ve got here, C-Sec. It would be a shame if someone planted a bug in it later, since literally anyone can just walk on up here uncontested.

This entire area really is so pretty though.

I always pump points into Paragon as much as possible from as early on as possible, and saving these poor guys’ lives is one of the big reasons. They don’t need to die.

Ash usually still stays in the party up to this point, though sometimes it’s Garrus. Fist is still a dick in ME2 but he doesn’t need to die here, sorry Wrex.

...raise your hand if you still occasionally forget to pick up Emily Wong’s evidence and have to reload. I remembered! ...once I was almost out of Chora’s Den and had to turn around this time.

Kaidan? Kaidan my love? My darling... perhaps YOU shouldn’t be the one standing in the middle of the corridor with no barrier or protection? (I suppose I could scooch over but then I’d look less badass for these screenshots. Naaah.)

It’d be a shame if someone properly lit the corridor so we could see what’s going on.

But hey... TALI! Tali Tali Tali! The first quarian we see, and only one for... awhile? Is there another quarian in this entire game? I’m trying to remember and seriously can’t think of one.

Anyway, I love Tali, but another character you really need to ignore their most rabid fanbase portions of. Yikes, Talimancers were really something back in the day. The biggest problem I have with Tali being in the squad is that normally she’s REALLY useful against Geth and... not so much against just about anything else. She gets sidelined on my team more than I wish she would. Especially since she doesn’t show up until very late in ME2 and late-midway through ME3.

Finally, the proof we need. And the game continues to introduce new concepts to us with the Conduit and we hear the word Reapers for the first time. We also get a loredump on the quarians and the geth.

Tali’s voice doesn’t have quite as heavy of an accent in ME1 as it does in 2 and 3. I guess we can assume she’s lost part of it while on her pilgrimage? Picking up the local dialects a bit? The next two times we see her she’s just spent a lot of time with her own people.

Tali’s suit and omnitool look SO GOOD with the updated textures.

I swap Ash out and Tali in at this point, and usually finish up a few more quests along the way.

Ah, Septimus. You lovesick fool.

Honestly, the very best thing with Septimus is to bring Garrus here if you’re gonna romance him, have Garrus laugh at him for coming undone for love and then... well, ME2 and especially ME3 happen. But still. Septimus... always needs a kick in the pants but will get around to doing the right thing.

Hey here’s a cool thing ME1Recalibated does -- Morlan carries a Squad Iconic Armors stock, so you can always find tier-appropriate default look armor for you and all the squad. Very cool of you, Morlan. You are currently my favorite store on the Citadel. Now stop sending me spam, I didn’t sign up for your mailing list.

Look, I have questions about what exactly Xeltan told the consort and how... all that... works... but... I don’t think I actually want to ask them. Just.. let’s all shut up about all of it, it’s over now.

BTW, according to one of the novels, Councilor Anderson finds Ambassador Cayln super annoying. I need to re-read that book.

OK fine... I’ll go talk to the Council.

Coming at ya with Actual Proof and a quarian tagging along to back up the claims, the Council is ready to listen. And while not surprising that it’s finally time to become a Spectre, the actual ceremony is really well done. With the swelling theme music blaring, and all three councilors stressing what a big deal this is and what will be expected of you, you really feel the weight of this moment. People take notice. Although apparently later, Kaidan or Ash get an entire televised event around becoming a Spectre, I guess there’s no time for that right now.

It definitely feels like the game so far has been building towards this moment, not only with POUNDING it into your brain about who Spectres are and why they’re so important and letting you know you’re being evaluated... but it feels like there’s been a shift in the game after this moment. It’s A Big Deal.

I didn’t finish all the sidequests on the Citadel yet, they can wait, I’ve been here long enough. Let’s go check out the new cool stuff we can buy.

ME1Recalibrated adds in this Spectre Armor. Eeehhhhh... no thanks. We’ll stick with Onyx.

I did cheat myself in a bunch of credits and picked up Spectre weapons though. This ain’t no tryhard playthrough.

Well OK, we can finish ONE more quest. Thanks, startlingly loud and triumphant music queue that’s never used again!

It’s cool to get a bit more of the Saren & Anderson backstory here for real. Still, I enjoyed the book more. Maybe I’ll do a re-read of all the ME books here soon.

chapter two; synthetic childhood

Everything went back to normal, as best as things can. It’s been around three days since Stella’s adventures out in the Commonwealth. That wasn’t going to stop her, she was planning on making way back to the police station in a couple of weeks. Luckily, the signal at the police station was now strong enough that Stella’s Pip-Boy cough their signal, so she could communicate with Haylen. She found that out last night while she was working on modding her guns, a strange voice came from it. At first, she was concerned, but when Haylen stated it was her and she realized she left the signal on her Pip-Boy, she was happy to hear from her. Haylen was happy to talk to someone other than people who were apart of the Brotherhood, and Stella was happy she could talk to Haylen, maybe she could get a signal elsewhere.

“What’s the craziest thing you fought?” Haylen asked to throw the speaker as Stella was tinkering with the gun she was making for Danse as a thank you. Stella sat back and thought about her question. Haylen snuck away to talk to her before Ryhs or even Danse would find her. Haylen has so many questions for Stella, about her crazy adventures she had.

“At 16, I fought two Deathclaws in the middle of a Gunner shoot out. For some reason, the Deathclaws didn’t attack me, but they did help me kill the Gunners… then they tried to attack me so I shot one square in the head but it did manage to rip my gun in two before it blood out… so I had to try to kill the other Deathclaw with my combat knife. It took a while before I confused the Deathclaw and I ended up crawling on his back and slitting its throat… I should have just taken one of the Gunner’s gun and shooting them, but that thought didn’t cross my mind,” Stella said through the mic. “I know it sounds so untrue, but I have the scar to prove it,” Stella stated as she felt the scare on her neck and chest. It was nasty and when she got it, she swore she was going to die right then and there and be a Deathclaw’s dinner.

“Jesus…” Haylen sighed, baffled by Stella’s story “I think with that, you have Elder Maxon beat…” Haylen laughed. Stella blushed.

“You think I’d be a good Elder?” Stella laughed. “Ah, just kidding, you shouldn’t answer that,” Stella stated. Stella could hear someone walking in.

“Hey, Haylen, who are you talking too?” A familiar voice was heard. It was Danse

“It’s- It’s Stella, Paladin. The signal was strong enough that I’m able to contact Stella,” Haylen stated. Stella’s cheeks where flushed, thinking about the Paladin.

“Hi, Danse!” Stella cheered.

“Hello, soldier, nice to hear from you again… Haylen, Ryhs needs to talk to you,” Danse spoke with seriousness in his tone.

“Oh… okay. Bye Stella!” Haylen cheered.

“Bye Haylen. Talk to you soon okay?” Stellas asked.

“Of course,” And with that Haylen disconnected from the channel. Stella smiled as she looked at the loose pieces of the rifle she was modding.

Stella got up from her desk as she went to the kitchen in her quarters. She lived with Lucas and Joanna and their quarters were rather large. However, tonight, she was home alone. Lucas and Joanna went to the ‘night club’ for some free drinks, but Stella wanted to stay behind to do some modding and to talk to Haylen of course.

Stella went to the fridge as she grabbed an ice-cold Nuka-Cola. Endcliff was a freak about pre-war foods and actually being edible, so their scientists and chefs would get together to make them. It was nice.

She took a sip, and sat down, unsure of what to do next of her rifle, maybe a suppressor? Ah, who knows. Stella just decided to move her little gun project back in her locker and pull out her typewriter, might as well finish that play she was writing for Cosmos…

The thing with Endcliff, is that they value education and the most important art and anything creative. That’s why it’s such a perfect fit for her. Stella always valued things like crafting, music, writing, painting, and dance. It would help heal wounds that were never physical. She remembered when she ran off to Goodneighbor in hopes of a memory wipe, she would sketch all the emotions she felt in her notebook. Luckily, before anything could happen, Nick Valentine busted in, helping her cope with her emotions, with her friends by her side. She realized that maybe she could learn from this and make art to express the awful feeling that flowed throw her veins. Or where they veins?

Yea, the past 4 years have been difficult after her little disappearing act, but who could blame her? The women just found out she’s a fucking synth prototype and everyone is after her? Was her mother really her mother? Or just a vessel for a synthetic baby? All her childhood felt so real, but was it real to everyone else?

Vault-Tec and the Institue? What a cluster fuck for disaster.

What scared her the most is that the Institue still is after her. Even when she was captured at 19, she managed to wipe her entire file and flee. She was safe for now… but she keeps wounding when her time will run out and there will be a ninth attempt on her life.

She kept that all to herself, the only people who knew her true self where her family and Nicky. She was happy about her new friendship with Valentine. He was fun and treated her with such care. He was like a father figure to her new identity and well, Nick felt comfort when she was around. A prototype. Just like him.

It was cruel what they did, telling her that she’s just a science project to those fuckers at the Institute on her 18th birthday, making her life crumble and saying her time was up. She couldn’t do that. She had to find something or someone else. Leave, forever. She realized she didn’t want that. Fuck the Institue.

The funny thing is, Stella, remembers her childhood like everyone normal child can… or as normal as one can get. Her oldest brother being in a gang and harassing everyone that crossed him and playing with anyone but the kids her age. The vault was never supposed to open. That’s what the Institute wanted. They thought that if they grew up on in a vault, they can easily get information, but now she’s here, in the Commonwealth where their little labs are. I guess she always knew something was off with her. She was anxious all the time and thought nothing she did was normal. She questioned her sexuality and her place in the world. It hit her too that she liked everyone, even ghouls and synths. She just didn’t care. Pre-war days, they would have a name for that.

She was lucky she made way to Little Lamplight after she lefts her life behind. She never really cared for the vault, no one ever cared for her. She did question if anyone ever tried to look for her, but she didn’t look for them, so it was whatever.

Stella never saw the world until she was 12. Broken… lost… She saw pictures of it before the bombs fell and she’d hope something of that life was still there. It was the Mayor of Lamplight that befriended her, they where close. He was the only one she talked to before she up and left again. Robert MacCready. Stella heard a rumor he was running with Gunner’s now and he made way to the Commonwealth too. She’d hope to bump into him at some point, maybe without the bloodshed, of course

Stella traveled everywhere in the Capital Wasteland before she made way to the Galaxy News Radio station. It was a blur at that time of her life. Brotherhood of Steel soldiers were doing their business. They were kind enough to let her stay there. Maybe that’s why she’s so drawn to the Brotherhood, even if they wanted to hunt her down now. Or maybe it was the fact that her first kiss and even doing that for the first time was with a Knight. She was 15, 2 months before she was planning on leaving and she had a crush on a new Knight… Knight Micheal. He was 17. The two hung out a lot and well… one thing leads to another and she was no longer a virgin. But that’s neither here or there.

Stella sat there, staring mindlessly, caught up in her thoughts. For a machine whose every waking moment was supposed to be programmed, she sure did think a lot. Quite honestly, with everything that happened since she got the news about herself, a lot of shit happened and well… she somehow saw the positive in it all. Even when the Institue did capture her only a year later. She learned a lot about herself in that time slot. She saw a lot of things she wishes she could be programmed to forget, but maybe… it was there for a reason. No matter what people say… no matter what the Brotherhood says or those bastards at the Institue, she is human. People forget what human even means in this climate.

Stella’s relationship with herself and other synths are always off and on, but to be fair, no other person outside Endcliff knows, it was the ones who were mindless under orders, jealous, almost towards her. She never understood why. Maybe the fact she remembered her childhood, had a real mother and father… but underneath it all, they were apart of the experiment all the same. She did feel bad for those wishing to have that loving mother or father, but that was never up to her. Nothing was. Besides her escape, of course.

The Institue was stupid enough to have every track record of there captured and escaped synths and there every move. Just on a terminal for anyone that can get their hands on it. They didn’t know she was going to escape with a few others, but she overheard a few idiots talking about it and so she found her file and deleted it so that when she’s back home, they won’t have a clue where she was. LV-32. Gone. It was a stupidly complicated yet simple plan with a lot of waiting. At least someone helped her. The Railroad.

Stella always heard about The Railroad even before she found out about being LV-32. She knew someone in The Institue was dancing with them. She owed a little bit of her freedom because of them.

Stella had no clue who was apart of there secret cool kids club, or anyone from Endcliff. When she got back from here escape, a new resident, Athena, moved in. Stella always thought she was odd, but she respected it. They talked every now and again when she went to Cosom’s. She ended up working costumes and was a fantastic seamstress. She could make anything you ever wanted to wear, amazing for any production Cosmos would put on. Athena would always ask Stella questions, not invasive questions if Stella had any, she was a pretty open person after all (besides her synth nature to outsiders)

Stella and Athena bonded a month after everything. Cosmo wanted to put on a production of a play he worked on called Poison of Creature he wrote with the help of Lucas. Stella played Noble, a woman who was a witch. Athena did all her costumes and hung out a lot backstage with Stella. It was no Lucas or Joanna to the level of trust and closeness, but she was glad she made a new friend.

It wasn’t until closing night she got a chance to meet… Deacon… and Glory and Tinker Tom. Athena invited some “friends” from her old settlement to watch the play and come to the little after party back at Cosmos’ place. Stella hit it off with Athena’s friends and well… months later told her everything or enough that Dez wouldn’t skin any of them alive. Just like the Brotherhood, she didn’t join them, but she did befriend them.

Stella was kicked off out of her through as she heard her radio coming on, someone was trying to contact her. It was probably Haylen again.

“Haylen? Is that you?” She spoke, leaning into the mic.

“No. This is Paladin Danse. Scribe Haylen is on a mission, she’ll be back in a few hours… I… I hope you don’t mind, but I wanted to speak to you… if you have time, that is,” Danse voice was husky and Stella couldn’t help but swoon. She was so happy to hear from him again.

“I always have time for you and your team, Paladin,” Stella spoke with professionalism.

“Please, call me Danse… I just wanted to properly thank you for helping us. It has been a stressful time and I would have left for the Prywen by now but I have to stay with my time to make sure they are good. I’m happy Haylen has continued to keep in contact with you,” Danse said, honestly.

“I’m glad to help out… sometimes we forget to help others… speaking of which, I’m making you something as a thank you, will you be at the police station in a week?” Stella asked. Danse chuckled, you could hear him blushing.

“I’m supposed to go back to the Prydwen in a few days, but I can always tell the Elder I need more time… that’s very thoughtful of you, soldier…” He paused as Stella smiled. Oh boy, she could feel that crush feeling crawling in. Not in this climate! “I’m glad you picked up, I wasn’t sure who or what I’d be talking to with Haylen’s radio,” Danse chuckled.

“I’m glad you contacted me. I have a million things I should do, but no inspiration is hitting me at the moment,” Stella admitted as she looked at the empty page of her play and the loose screws of her gun. Ugh, creation block.

“Inspiration for what?” Danse asked.

“I’m writing a play and modding something special… usually, I’ll have the first scene of my play done and the rest just come naturally, but… I think I can’t get my mind off of what happened. I can’t write about our loses or my adventures ether. It’s been the plot of my last 3 plays. Love? Murder? Synthetic lies?! Ah, sorry for rambling…” Stella stumbled over her words as she thought of another generic plot point.

“You’re a writer? We don’t have many of those nowadays. I always wanted to go to a play, but I’m always busy for the Brotherhood. Maybe write something that could have happened before the war… Baseball or country music. Simple. Peaceful…” It was clear that Danse, too was trailing off, but Stella listened to him carefully. She didn’t know a lot about things from before the war. She only knew of this life.

“You’re more than welcome to come to Endcliff, we usually have productions of plays that our friend Cosmos puts on. Sometimes it’s someone else. He’s currently running around like a madman, putting up a rusty set. And yes, I’m more of an artist, you could say. I paint and dance and sometimes I bang on tables! Damnit that sounded… sexual, ah… you know what I mean,” Stella laughed, completely making herself sound like a fool. Danse laughed at her, enjoying the conversation they were having.

“I’ll try to find a way to Endcliff, and I think I have an idea of what you mean. I heard stories of Endcliff, it sounds like such a strange place, the Brotherhood could make use of such a place,” Danse replied.

“I’d hope you’re not planning on raiding us… you’re making me nervous, Paladin,” Stella joked. “And yea, Endcliff is about education and art. A lot of settlers and traders and people of all walks of life come here, some live here. Mayor Kinnojo kept it safe and the same since his father passed away. We don’t keep people out, but you do have to pass security and Benji takes his job seriously… expect for the raider ambush… poor Benji is still trying to hold himself together… Anyways, hows Brotherhood life? And don’t worry I’m not trying to get you to tell me all your secrets,” Stella laughed.

“The Brotherhood is an honor to be in. I’ve works hours with my brother and sisters, saw many good soldiers come and go. My whole life is dedicated to the Brotherhood… but you can say it’s more than that,” Danse let out a comforting sigh. “Have you considered joining the Brotherhood? After taking care of yourself, you seem to be what the Brotherhood is looking for,” Danse asked. Stella thought about it for a moment.

“I ride solo, only really ride with Lucas and Joanna and for the people in Endcliff. It’s funny, back in the Capital Wasteland, I was around with a lot of Brotherhood soldiers but never would want to become one myself. I’d rather just do things my way, help people I want to help. I’m unsure why people always ask me to join their clubs… I mean, it’s nice that people think I’m good enough for them, but… it’s all bullshit,” Stella spoke with honesty. Maybe she should join one of those ‘clubs’. “I traveled with many people before I meet Joanna and Lucas, I was working with a raider gang, fixing their guns at one point. Hated every second of that gig… And of course the kids at Little Lamplight and the soldiers at Galaxy News Radio… but none of it felt like me. Yea, sure it gets lonely as hell when all you do is run with two people or even by yourself, but at those times I remember why I do it. To find clarity,” Stella looked at the blank page in her typewriter. “I suck… sorry for my life story… I really need to take it easy on the Nuka Cola,” Stella awkwardly laughed.

“It’s okay, soldier. I understand. I hope you change your mind and join us down the line,” Danse stated. If only he knew what she was… “I’m sorry to cut it short, but I have to go, Haylen and the team is back. I hope to see you soon,” With that and two goodbyes, the channel on her radio lost signal. She looked at her Pip-Boy. It was now midnight.

Stella got up and put on her coat. She wanted to go to Vista’s for a drink and some fucking food.

Usually, sitting at a bar, by yourself at midnight would be pretty fucking sad, but it’s Vista’s and tonight Kamilia was working. Stella sipped her whiskey as she listened to Liza Bush do her set. For such a popular hot spot for drunken mistakes, it was pretty fucking quiet tonight.

“Come here often?” Stella heard a recognizable voice next to her as she shifted her body. She prayed it wasn’t Danny… she would hate herself if it was… She took a sip as she looked to her left to see Deacon. She smiled and rolled her eyes as Deacon moved to sit next to her.

“Yes, all the time… What brings you back to Endcliff? Forget a disguise of ‘Pretentious Art Snob?’” Stella asked, making Deacon laugh.

“That would be such a good disguise for a place like this… but no… I came here to talk to you,” Deacon had some seriousness in his voice as Stella tilted her head in concern.

“Deacon is everything okay?” Stella asked.

“Yes… and well… no. Remember that man who was with me last time I visited Athena? F8-L9 or Gray we called him?” Deacon asked, catching Stella’s mind up.

“Oh yes! He had a passion for the arts, a perfect fit for Endcliff. Is everything alright with him?” Stella asked.

“He was supposed to be here with me so he could get a residentship here after speaking with Mayor Kinnojo, but Glory said he went all cuckoo and fleed to Goodnaighbor for a memory wipe, I’m afraid the Institute is after him and he just had a memory wipe before his visit,” Deacon explained the situation. Stella took another sip of her drink.

“That sounds like a hard deal… two memory wipes in that short amount of time can be dangerous and afar from the Institue goes, you guys always got that part covered,” Stella stated.

“You’re going to hate me, but we need your help,” Deacon spoke. Stella raised her eyebrows.

“Why me? I’m not even an agent,” Stella reminded Deacon.

“Because what I’ve gathered, Gray really likes you and your art and maybe you could tell him something that could convince him. We don’t have to leave until tomorrow evening… Please, you owe us this much. And besides, don’t you miss traveling with this face?” Deacon asked as he batted his eyelashes, but of course, couldn’t see with him wearing sunglassed in a dim bar.

“Fine, but we’re going to Cambridge Police Station, I have to give a Paladin something for helping me,” Stella explained.

“Okay, deal… Thank you, Stella,” Deacon smiled as he got up and left. What happened with running alone?

this is such a lovely blog!! i'm very excited to see what you all make, everything that everyone has made so far is spectacular!!! could i get some positivity/assurance for a fictive whos just disoriented + lonely?? i have strong psuedomemories, so i feel like one day i was happily vibing with my found family and the next day i was. here, so getting some general words of comfort from fellow fictives would be nice;; keep up the amazing work everyone!!!

I also want to open this up for other mods here to reblog and/or edit to add on if they feel like it. So, hello! I am so happy to hear from you. My name is John! I’m a part of mod Tea. I wanted to take this ask directly as I am in a similar boat. I see you, first of all. I know it is so hard to be away from people that you love. And disruptive, and unsettling, and scary because it is new. (I miss my sister, and my friends, and my colleagues.) I want you to know that your pseudomemories are valid. That your life before this was your life and is your life, and it can be so hard to suddenly be away from that, but that you are needed and loved here too. And it might hurt terribly for a little while, but that every single day it gets just a teeny, tiny bit easier, until one day you are relatively painless, save for those moments when you ache just a little. I do catch myself still going to phone my sister, and that does hurt me so, but I am needed here. That is why I am a part of my system, as are you with yours. Next I would like you to know that you aren’t alone. I know that you must miss your family terribly, but I hope that you can make some more family in this place, with your system members, or even with external people (systems or singlets!) With everyone around, you are not alone at all, even though it may feel like it at first. Especially here, it can feel so isolating. But you have your system, and your system has you, and there are wonderful spaces for you to connect with other systems should you want to make those connections. I know how disorienting it all can be, certainly. I did not front for almost a year as I had to gain my bearings. However, as I’ve said before, you are a part of a system. Along with not being alone, you are part of a group who (in our experience and my personal opinion) need to rely on each other to work together as best as they can to survive. It can be overwhelming, but I hope that you have someone in your system who can help “show you the ropes”, so to speak. That is what I found helpful, having someone to explain our inner world, what I needed to know to front and to interact with others, and all of that fun stuff that can be really hard to learn on your own. (thank you to Seb from our system!) You may find it helpful to amass some things that remind you of home. Our older (meaning, around longer) introjects have collected things over the years that remind them of themselves and their loved ones, and it helps them to feel more at home here. If you can’t do this with tangible items, I’d personally recommend find music you like that reminds you of good times or loved ones, fanfiction (if your source has this), fanart (again with the source, it depends-I am lucky to be from something with a large fanbase), aesthetics that remind you of home - things that you can look at and and reminisce seem to help me. I want to stress that it can be so hard to be here, and not there. And that you may miss there so very strongly that you wish you weren’t here. But you are needed here. You are here for a reason. Perhaps not necessarily a role to fill, or a trauma to hold, but you are here because your system needed you. I promise that you can find things here that are worth being here for. You can have a fulfilling existence here as well. You deserve this as well, a happy and fulfilling life that isn’t cast in a shadow of pain. (I also promise the pain gets easier.) I hope this message finds you well, and anyone who may read it also needing to hear these words; I see you as well, and I am with you, and I know that it hurts. And it will get better -- not magically fixed, painless forever, but better. My own Sims 4 challenge: TWISTED DESTINY

💛 Hi y’all! I felt super inspired to create my own challenge. After working so freakin hard, here I am with the ten generation legacy challenge “TWISTED DESTINY“! I’d literally be so happy if you decided to try it out. A big focus for me & this challenge, is different lifestyles and personalities. It’s a crazy challenge, & it definitely changes things up!! OVERALL RULES:

This is a ten generation legacy challenge, all objectives/goals for every generation must be completed!

Always start out with one heir, gender doesn’t matter

The point of the challenge is for your heirs to have completely different lifestyles + personalities, therefore they should move to a different world that suits the lifestyle they’re supposed to have

No cheats that has to do with skills, relationships, work tasks... no cheats that will be for your advantage if that makes sense hehe!

Keep aging on NORMAL

Go crazy!! Make sure your sims personalities stand out and make use of the rules, to help you set up their lives. We want this to be entertaining and unique, something new!!

Generation one: THE BAD REPUTATION 💔

Okay, you might not have had the best grades. You might have gotten into a lot of trouble & you might seem crazy. But oh boy, your past has really shaped you. Your parents never wanted a kid, didn’t care to raise you, never gave you any “real” love. You didn’t let it get to you, you were happy to be free and made so many friends only from telling your background story. In the later days, you’ve started to realize what you’ve become. What you let your past do to you. The thought pops up in your head: “What if I prove them all wrong? What if I don’t have to be that one everyone knows about. What if I can be a better parent than my parents ever were?”

You’re outgoing, self assured & such a fun friend. These things will never change. Whay will change, is the fact that you all of a sudden want a family. You want something more, and you want to do something new and different. Will this be the right path to go? I mean, for the crazy “rule breaker” to start a family? Only time will tell!

OBJECTIVES/GOALS:

(optional) Show how crazy you are! Have a crazy hair color for example. It adds some character!

Your heir must have the traits self assured, goofball and dance machine

Must master the friend of the world aspiration.

Don’t have a career (at least until you are a adult)!! You want to do something fun and crazy for a living. Pick two of these hobbies and work on them in your free time + master them: dancing, singing, playing an instrument, mischievous skill, dj skill, or the video gaming skill.

Play around a bit! Your heir has to date 2 sims, both of the relationships doesn’t end too well and you end up having a kid with the last one, which leads to them leaving you. After that you finally find your soulmate who really changes you for the better, and you have one + kid/s with them.

Meet at least two new sims everyday during your young adult life.

Make friends! Have a smaller/bigger friend group, meet up & have fun sometimes.

Generation two: THE FORGOTTEN KID 💛 🐑

”I guess I’ll have to start new, I guess I’ll go my own way, I mean what else is there to do?”

You’re not sure why, but you never felt included. Sure, your parents were crazy, they gave you lots of love & care, although your sibling/s seemed to be their faves. Maybe you need that special connection, that only a pet could give you? Eh, you’ve always felt like a creative person who loves colors, and who wants to work with something that feels personal, you want to express yourself & be able to share your story with others. You decide to move to the city, and even though this isn’t where you plan on staying forever, it definitely feels like the right move. I mean, your parents wouldn’t care, you suppose? But what if there’s something they’re hiding, what if it’s a misunderstanding?

You’re a super kind human being full of love and passion. You love bright colors & always felt the need to help others, possibly since your parents def didn’t really do so. You want something big in life though, something special. Hmm, what would that be? Only time will tell!

OBJECTIVES/GOALS:

Must have the traits clumsy, creative + loves the outdoors (thought they were colorful & cute tehe)

Must master the “soulmate” aspiration

Get to level ten in the writer career

Must live in a apartment for at least half your heirs young adulthood

Your heir must get themselves a pet right when they move out, you have a kind soul and this lil poor one you actually rescued!! (Yes I know owning a pet in a apartment is a whole challenge itself whoops)

You don’t want to be like your parent! Therefore, you want to marry the right person, your soulmate, before you have a baby/babies with them.

You’re supposed to not feel like your parent ever cared for you. But after some time you realize it might’ve been a misunderstanding, and you decide to let them into your life. Fun part is YOU get to decide what the whole thing was about.

Generation three: THE TRAVELER 🌵 ️ 📸

You had the BEST CHILDHOOD EVER. But why does this make you feel so, empty. Like, as if how everything was so perfect for you, made you feel like life never was a challenge. You made so many friends & your teenage years were fun and easy. It’s just not quite it, and you definitely need something more in your life, you need to find something you’re truly good at, & you need to push yourself for a crazier life!

You’re a real adventurer, you want to travel and see the world + work towards being multi skilled and, you know, a little off the grid. After some research you’ve heard the phone isn’t the way to a happy family. You love your family with all your heart, and you’ll do anything to have them see the world with a new perspective.

OBJECTIVES/GOALS:

Have triplets (you may obviously cheat for this), this will be your only babies.

Master handiness, cooking AND gourmet cooking.

Master the “super parent” aspiration.

During your sims lifetime, you’re going to be moving quite a lot, you want to make the most of life and see all kinds of nature! You must therefore at the end of the generation have lived in all these three surroundings: near a beach (doesn’t have to be a beach in Sulani, there’s a “beach” in Brindleton, Windenburg...), in a city & in a desert.

You may have a career, a tip to make this even more interesting is to keep your career for a little while, until you feel like you’re ready to try something new!

Finish at least one collection

KEEP IN MIND! NeXT generation will start when the sim you choose to be the next heir is a TEEN.

Generation four: THE TEEN PARENT ❣️ 🍼

(Yes, through the MC COMMAND CENTER mod + the MC WOOHOO mod teens can get pregnant, even guys can haha, might not be realistic but I mean YOLO!!)

You travelled the world as a child, you saw everything. With that being said, you always felt you were different. You may not be like your parents, you actually want to settle down. Since you never really spent time on your phone back in the days, you were able to learn so much more. Maybe, that’s the reason you want to start your own family, basically do everything you ever dreamed of, but as a teenager? When you think about it, it sounds crazy. But after hearing all stories about your grandparents parents and whatever there is, who’s not crazy in this fam?

You’re not like anyone else in your family. But still, you love them with all your heart & definitely want to meet them often. But still you always felt the need to deal with your own ish. You need to spend time alone, and still you want to start a family. I guess you’re a bit of a loner, but there’s so much more to the story...

OBJECTIVES/GOALS:

Must have the traits loner and geek, you can only have two traits as a teen, when you age up you can pick the last one yourself.

Meet someone at the age of a teenager, & end up pregnant (it’s really easy through MC COMMANT CENTER like I said). This may not be what your partner planned on doing the rest of their lives, so um, they leave you.

Move out on your own as a pregnant teenager (you’re afraid of what your family will think). You can live in a small house of apartment.

Don’t worry! Soon enough you’ll find someone, your SOULMATE. They support you through everything and actually also always wanted a family even though they’re young.

When you turn into a young adult, get yourself a job! Work as a astronaut & master the career.

Have a big family!! At least four kids (obviously no need to have them all as a teen).

Generation five: THE (NOT SO) SWEETHEART 🤚🏽 💕

Well, let’s put it like this: your childhood was a mess. But a mess in a good way. You felt like you had a lot of fun, you had a bunch of siblings to hang with, you felt included. Oh boy, all these stories about your crazy family, you never heard anything about music or instruments. “I just got an idea”, you thought.

You’re a overly sweet and adorable person, that one everyone in your town knows about. That one who wears cute clothes & never makes one mistake. The person who melts anyone’s heart with their smile. What they don’t know, is the fact that you want to be something more. You want to be crazy and rebellious, but seems like no matter how hard you try it doesn’t work. You love singing and playing instruments. Deep inside you want to be like that one person from way back, who you’ve heard started this whole family tree. What was their name, again?

OBJECTIVES/GOALS:

Must have the traits friendly, music lover + one optional!

Must master 2 instruments + the singing skill.

Work as a criminal, and master the career! Something you keep from even your closet friends, but you can obviously tell your partner.

Have only one child.

The person you have the kid with, is supposed to be your “soulmate”. That one person who you can always trust, who you can be yourself with & share anything with.

You love sneaking out at night. You usually head to places where people don’t hang out. You bring your closest friends, but sometimes you just want to be alone.

Have a garden, and do some flower arranging aside.

Generation six: THE UNEXPECTED PARENT 🥵

Things really got crazy for you as a kid. You were an only child, you knew your parents better than they thought. They really thought they could hide things from you? Welp, things really got messy. As an only child you feel the need to take responsibility. You always loved playing around and being active as a kid, you were focused on your grades and want to be successful!!

You’re ambitious, active, determined, yet fun & gorgeous. You want to be the one to follow one path, follow your heart, and have a life where you’re constantly in movement, constantly feeling healthy. You were always so focused on yourself, and BOOM, all of a sudden you were a parent.

OBJECTIVES/GOALS:

Must have the traits active, ambitious & cat/dog lover.

Master the “bodybuilder“ aspiration

Enter the athlete career, reach max level.

Master fitness and dancing.

Get a pet early on! You never wanted kids, so this was your companion, it was only gonna be the two of you.

Even though you didn’t plan for it to happen, you end up meeting someone, you know, things go down, either one of you end up pregnant.

Your partner definitely didn’t want children, therefore you’re left as a single parent.

Suddenly everything feels different. You build this connection to your kid, & you start loving parenthood. This is when you either decide to actually meet someone and expand your family, or just stick to being a single parent and never have more kids.

Generation seven: THE NATURE OBSESSED 🥭 🌱

You were unexpected. Weird to think, you wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for... anyways. You spent your days gaping up out in the nature. Out in the free, obsessing over the birds & the sunlight. You always felt when you were outside, nothing could get to you. You wanna go new places, and make tons of friends! You want to see what’s out there, the thought of living in a giant city cramped in a tiny apartment, ugh you could never.

You’re a little crazy, obviously, but also just want to live somewhere gorgeous & hangout with friends who really understands you. You always two things motivated you more than anything: painting & spending time outside. This will shape you, but there’s a lot of space to fill in still!

OBJECTIVES/GOALS:

Must have the traits loves the outdoors, creative, & gloomy

Master painting, parenting and photography

Max out the painter career

Live somewhere beautiful, with a lot of gorgeous and interesting nature! Have a beautiful house (doesn’t have to be big), with breathtaking landscaping, & even include the “nature” sort of theme in your house (you may cheat with money to be able to get the house of your dreams)!

You’re lucky, you find the one to marry and have kids with! That one person who makes you feel so amazing and bubbly inside!!

Meet at least one new sim EVERY SINGLE DAY of your sims life (until you move on to the next gen)!!

When you go places with your friends, you want them to be unique. Drinking or partying isn’t your ish, you want to go to parks, pools, & whatever else there may be.

Generation eight: THE “NOT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE” 🤕

You love you family with all your heart. They make you feel amazing at all times, you love spending time with them. But you’re a super anxious person, you want to find someone but you’re so scared they’ll leave you. Therefore, you don’t feel like settling down right away. You’re gonna get out there, prove to the world how strong you are, & you’re gonna make sure you stick with the right one. With that, a couple broken hearts may pay the prize, but you just don’t want to get hurt.

You’re a super shy person, you have such talent but you’re afraid to show it. Don’t worry, your time will come. You also want to experiment with who to end up with, which is surprising, consider how anti social you are. But I mean, it’s your life, if this is what you want, go for it! Oh, in your free time you absolutely love to cook.

OBJECTIVES/GOALS:

Have the traits loner, foodie & perfectionist

Have + master the serial romantic aspiration

Master cooking & charisma

Have quite some failed “relationships” (doesn’t have to be actually together), have kids with 3 of your failed relationships.

Have at least one kid with your successful relationship.

Get married as an elder to the person you really love.

Choose what career to go into, but when you turn into an adult, you realize cooking was always the one for you, so you enter that career.

Generation nine: THE ONE WHO FIGHTS 🤛🏽 💓

You always wanted the best for people. Your family was sweet, although you where surrounded by so many half siblings, who didn’t completely make you feel special. You want to be special, cause currently you’re really not. Right? You want to be strong and fight the people who ever did the world anything bad. You want to save the planet, whilst still being able to do other stuff.

You’re friendly and hardworking, although you’re quite hot headed and will make sure to fight the ones who do something wrong. You’re obsessed with the color orange for some reason. To you, the color shows strength.

OBJECTIVES/GOALS:

Must have the traits friendly & hot headed, you pick the last one!!

Pick any aspiration you think suits, you keep in mind you must master it!!

Be a secret agent and get to level 10!

You absolutely love the color orange Show this off in your sim and their house (fun little tough)!

Fight people! Your sim must fight at least one person every other day, these sims have clearly done something bad (oops I feel bad but...)

You stand up for what you want! Go out to the city and demonstrate twice week (you can choose what cause).

You have a kind soul. Every other day you donate some money to charity. Delete 100 semoleons from your household every other day.

Generation ten: THE GOOD REPUTATION ️ ❤️

You always heard stories about your family. Could it really have been THAT bad? Anyways, you’re taking inspiration from way back, from that sim *insert name of the sim from gen 1*, and you want to turn it around. Do everything the right way, be productive & have a fun life. Do everything everyone used to do in your family, but still not be too bad. Eh, why don’t you go back to where it all started, and see what you can do.

You’re a happy and gorgeous person, whenever you walk past someone they shine. Literally. Although, people are a little nervous about you going back to the world where it all started, so many rumors have been going around. You just want to see what it was all about, and if it gets crazy, let it be. This fam is crazy!

OBJECTIVES/GOALS:

Must have the traits good, childish & vegetarian.

Must master the “friend of the world” aspiration (just like first gen!!”

Complete one collection

Master video gaming and choose the second skill to master!

Go back to where it all started, find your roots! Move to the world that was home for generation one.

Live in a small house, that is beautifully decorated though!

When it comes to your love life, you actually WANT to be a single parent. Come up with a story as to why, and adopt at least one child.
