MDZS Disco Elysium AU part 1 (part 2 - part 3)
#poorly drawn mdzs#mdzs#wei wuxian#lan wangji#disco elysium#MDZS Disco Elysium AU#So sad I didn't manage to get this comic out on the 15th (pd-mdzs's 8 month anniversary and DE's 4th year anniversary) but I'm here *now*#I have a very extensive and detailed MDZS Disco Elysium AU that I am Not Normal About.#I've seen a few other people point out the potential in a crossover (true) but they make the mistake in having it be set in 51!#A true crossover would take place closer to The Antecentennial Revolution!#Disco Elysium did not go that hard on its cool lore for people to only make surface level crossovers!!!#One day I'll write the fic or post my notes. I don't know who would read it but it tickles *my* brain and that's enough.#No spoilers for DE (here or in comments (please)) but please consider....Magpie Wei Wuxian B*) On his way to be an innocent.#I do think there is a good chance a chunk of the MDZS readership would enjoy DE but...it's also not a game I easily recommend#It's more of an experience you have to marinate over. It's dark in ways that are off putting to some people.#It makes you feel like a very bad person all the time. It gets extremely personal if you allow yourself to be honest in your answers#and it's also the game that saved my life. My life was truly forever changed after playing disco elysium.#If I recommend it to people it's a badge of the trust I have in you to appreciate something dear to me B'*)#If you decide to play: PLEASE go in as blind as possible. You will regret spoiling yourself.#edit: this is based on real disco elysium dialogue. HDB has many canon kinks but this is not one of them

On Trust
Lets talk about trust in kink generally, and in hypnokink specifically. First, about Proximal Trust, then about Trusting me, and last about Accountability.
Something I want, I need people in the hypnokink space - and in general, really - to watch out for is Proximal Trust. This is when [Person A] gains a level of perceived trust or integrity in the eyes of other people, by being associated with (in proximity to) [Person B]. A concrete example: "I've seen HypnoDude being friendly with and sharing the content of SpiralChain for ages, and I trust SpiralChain, so HypnoDude has to be legit..."
Let me let Gen. Ackbar tell you what that is -
Tumblr media
There are a lot of people I talk to in the hypnokink community, who exist in a space where... well... it's not that I think they're untrustworthy, but at the same time I cannot attest directly to whether they are trustworthy and respectful partners. That's not because I have doubts about them as people, but because I have never interacted with them in that specific way. They've never been sexually, kinkstually or whatever interested in me, nor I them, and that is a very different level of interaction to, "hey how's the weather? You like D&D 5E? Oh cool, so what's your favorite kind of induction?"
I cannot, and you should not, assume that just because someone is able to maintain a friendship with me without setting off alarm bells in my head, that they are a considerate, ethical, and compatible partner. It is just not a good or safe assumption to make. Yes, a lot of really skeevy people will squick me out and I will avoid them right off the jump... but a lot of others won't.
Cloaking one's predatory nature or broken stair-ness in order to get in the proximity of trusted folks is a great strategy to get access to a more steady stream of potential partners, and so it is one oft employed. And, it often works. I cannot possibly vouch for everyone I interact positively with, nor everyone who shares my content, nor everyone who upvotes or likes my ideas. I can only vouch for the small circle of people I've actually had intimate interactions with or whom I've directly seen interacting in that way for a long enough time to feel comfortable drawing conclusions from said observations. I wish predators and unethical actors and broken stairs came with badges, but sadly they do not.
If you have questions about individuals, ask me about them in DM. I will tell you what I know, and admit what I do not (which is often a lot). I will be as honest and forthright as possible, to give you the ability to make an honest risk assessment for yourself. I'm always here to help, too, should things should go awry, in whatever way you deem necessary. I limit the extent to which I publicly call people out to those people who have, in my eyes, repeatedly and unapologetically done things that cross serious ethical lines, and for whom there is sufficient and publicly-available evidence.
On a related note, everything I said above about other people applies to me, too. I know I make a lot of content on ethics and safety and consent and that might recommend to suspicion that I'm "automatically" a trustworthy person. I'ma let Gen. Ackbar take that one again -
Tumblr media
Don't assume you can trust me. I really do appreciate that I've helped people, it means a ton to me. It matters. I am really, really, really super glad to have made the amount of difference - however big or small it is - that I have. I'm grateful for all of your support and accolades and all of that.
However.
No amount of difference, no amount of kudos, no amount of good a person could do, ever, makes them automatically worthy of your trust. That goes double in an intimate, kink context. Always, always, always vett your potential intimate and kink partners as best you can. Just because someone has a bunch of good friends, that does not mean that can't then turn around and be a consent violating asshole in the proverbial (or literal) bedroom. Just because someone talks a good - or great - game, that doesn't mean that when push comes to shove they aren't sus as hell. Vett. Your. Partners. Please. Not doing so does not excuse unethical or injurious behavior on their part - that's their doing and their failing, not yours - but it will help greatly to keep you safe. In an ideal world it would not be required, but we don't live in that ideal world, and until we do we have to live in the one we do.
That brings us to Accountability. I've said a lot here about not trusting the wrong people, so I want to make something absolutely, crystal clear: if someone does something hurtful to you, that is THEIR fault, not yours. Where you put your trust and how you vett people does matter but it does not, in any way, to any extent, make the things that happen to you "your fault." Accountability for those hurtful, abusive actions is 100% on the shoulders of the people who do them. It will never be anywhere else. All of the above - vetting, proximal trust, etc - is said with a mind to practicality and self-protection, to keeping you safe in the future, and not with even a hint of suggestion of blame or responsibility for anything. I know that when you are in the grips of something like that it can be easy to get into a blame, shame or self-hate spiral, wondering how you could let something like that happen and... you didn't. Things like that don't passively occur, they are actively pursued, and done so in ways that specifically overcome or bypass or evade the protective mechanisms that we all use to keep that from being done to us. It's. Not. Your. Fault.
Is this in response to a specific situation? Yes. More than one, honestly. Am I going to spill the proverbial tea? If I was going to, I would have already. I value given promises of privacy and even implicit ones far more than the social currency of naming-and-shaming and "✨#drama✨". If the time comes for that, though, rest assured it will happen. In the mean time, I'll do what I can to see that people are safe, healthy, and steps are taken to prevent future harm, as appropriate. I care about this community and I want to do right by it, and by all of you, as best I can.

Who Reads The Mind-Reader? - Part One
I’m not tagging any of my usual suspects for this one, because this is a Babylon 5 fic. The people on my taglist are primarily here for Star Trek (or at least I think you are) so if anyone wants to be tagged for this (and possible future) B5 fic(s) or any of my ST fics, message me/send me an ask and let me know.

G’Kar (B5) x Olivia Lane (OFC)
[A/N: There will be eventual smut, so 18+ ONLY, MINORS DNI!!!]
Warnings: None that I can think of for this first chapter. Language, maybe?
~*~
“Ms. Lane?” A voice called over the station’s bustling crowd, and I turned to find an Eath Force officer giving me a warm smile. “I’m Commander Jeffrey Sinclair. Welcome to Babylon Five.”
“Thank you, Commander. I was just on my way to try and find you to report in,” I said giving him a polite nod.
“Well, I’m happy to have saved you some trouble,” he said taking a small step closer and offering me his hand. How odd. Most people weren’t comfortable touching telepaths, even when we were wearing gloves. I clasped his hand just as a man in a grayish-brown uniform hurried over. “Ah, just in time. This is my Chief of Security, Michael Garibaldi. Mr. Garibaldi, our second commercial telepath, Ms. Olivia Lane.”
“Nice to meet you.” The new arrival smiled and not-so-stealthily let his eyes wander down the length of my body. His thoughts were so loud that I couldn’t avoid hearing a few things he doubtless wanted to conceal. Who used the slang word ‘rack’ in this day and age?
“Mr. Garibaldi will show you to your quarters then escort you to see Ms. Win–”
“Commander!” A rough bellow drew our gazes to a Narn storming our way. “There you are! I’ve been looking all over for you. This is simply outrageous! Surely, you don’t mean to allow Mollari to get away with–”
“I’m sorry, ma’am, give me just a moment,” Sinclair said before turning to the raging Narn. “G’Kar, if you have a problem, we can discuss it in the council chamber. I will not have you accosting me while I’m welcoming a new resident to the station. Is that understood?”
The man blinked and glanced over at me, seemingly noticing my presence for the first time. His lips parted in surprise, and his shoulders relaxed by a small measure.
“My sincerest apologies. I hope that I have not given you a negative first impression of your new post.” His voice had lowered to a slightly more normal level from his previous irate shouting, and when his blazing red eyes skimmed over the Psi Corps badge on the lapel of my blouse, he looked at me curiously. “Perhaps I could buy you a drink to make up for my unseemly behavior, Miss...?”
“Olivia Lane,” I offered, and the corners of his mouth drew up into a small smile.
“Ambassador G’Kar of the Narn Regime,” he returned with a polite inclination of his head.
“As soon as I’ve got my bearings, I’d be happy to take you up on your offer, Ambassador.” Looking inordinately pleased and less tense than before at my acceptance, he turned to the Commander and gave him a sheepish sort of look.
“I trust that I shall see both you and Mollari in the council chambers?”
“I’ll go grab Londo and meet you there in an hour,” he confirmed, and the Narn walked off, seemingly satisfied by the answer.
“Never a dull moment,” the Security Chief muttered, and I couldn’t help but let out a giggle. “Ah, you’re laughing now, but just wait. He and Londo are constantly at each other’s throats. You’ll get sick of it eventually.”
“Ms. Lane, I should probably warn you about Ambassador G’Kar. He’s tried to proposition every telepath who’s boarded Babylon Five. If you do take him up on that offer of a drink, I’d recommend you keep your wits about you.” Commander Sinclair sounded a little worried for me, and while I was touched by his concern, I shook my head quietly.
“I’ll be perfectly fine, Commander, but thank you. Now, you were saying something about an escort?”
--
“Are you certain about this?” G’Kar’s aide was clearly skeptical about his latest idea given his prior two failures, but she dutifully watched him walk back and forth across the length of his quarters.
“Na’Toth, I know I haven’t had success yet, but that does not mean every attempt will be as fruitless as the first two. It only takes one ‘yes’ to give us the result we need,” he murmured as he paused in his pacing. “Besides, this new girl seems less prickly than Ms. Winters. She almost seemed amused by my anger. Courage is something we can’t hesitate to grasp at when we find it–”
“You just think she’s pretty, don’t you?” Na’Toth’s deadpan inquiry was met by a pair of widened red eyes.
“...She is quite attractive for a Human female–”
“You should know, you’ve mated with enough of them,” she muttered almost under her breath.
“–But that does not change the fact that this is our chance to reintegrate telepathy into the gene pool! My attraction to her, or lack thereof, is irrelevant,” he said straightening to his full height. His aide rolled her eyes.
“Yes, Ambassador.”
“Good. Then I shall propose the idea to her when I feel the time is right. I think my problem with Ms. Alexander and Ms. Winters was that I was too abrupt in broaching the topic. Perhaps a more subtle approach would yield better results...” He trailed off, thinking back to the amused expression peeking out from beneath her copper hair. It was slightly closer to brown than the station’s first telepath, but somehow that made her all the more alluring. If she agreed to mate with him, then he would have to allow himself the luxury of caressing it. As he mused, he glanced at the time. “Oh, I’m due in the council chambers. time to give Mollari the pasting he deserves!”
The Narn allowed his anger to filter slowly back into him as he turned toward the door of his quarters, but Na’Toth’s voice stopped him in his tracks.
“Sir, before you go, a word of advice,” she called. “I know you have an affinity for Human females, but...don’t allow this one to take up more space than she deserves.”
“Are you implying that I would let my emotions get in the way of my job?” His deadly quiet question cut through the room like a knife after a brief hesitation. Turning to face his aide, G’Kar gave her a stern look.
“No, sir, but Humans have an odd way of getting under peoples’ skin. It would be unwise for you to allow your guard down, especially given her abilities.” He hated that she was right, but he couldn’t admit that. He couldn’t allow himself to appear weak.
“I am Narn. It would take more than a few smiles from a pretty girl to win me over, Na’Toth. I would’ve thought that you’d have realized that by now,” he stated puffing his chest out slightly to project strength. She nodded her head in deferential acknowledgment, and the Ambassador swept out of his quarters. He scoffed as he strode down the hallways. A Human female worming her way into his heart? Ha! He’d never heard anything so ridiculous in his life.
--
“I think those are all the major areas, but if there’s something you need help finding, don’t hesitate to ask me, security, or one of the Earth Force officers. Some of the Ambassadors can be quite helpful, too,” Talia said as we drew to a stop outside a casino in Red Sector. “It’s good to see you again, old friend. I’m so glad the Corps decided to honor my request to have you here.”
“So am I. Ten years is way too long to go without one of our late night chats.”
“We’ll have to catch up once you’ve gotten some rest. Don’t think I didn’t see you yawning when we were walking through Blue Sector,” the blonde smirked as she spoke, but something caught her eye over my shoulder. “Uh oh. Here comes trouble.”
“Why, hello there, ladies,” a familiar voice greeted, and Talia rolled her eyes. Did she not like him? But he seemed so charming...in a dorky kind of way, of course.
“Mr. Garibaldi.” She ground the words out as if his mere existence bothered her. “Can you find your way back to your quarters on your own?”
“I’ll make sure she gets there safe and sound,” the Chief said, and Talia made her escape.
“Thanks, Mike,” I murmured, and he gave me a warm, lopsided smile. “I take it Ambassador G’Kar and whoever that Mollari person is didn’t come to blows?”
“Nah, with a little assistance from Jeff - Commander Sinclair - they were able to resolve their differences peacefully. More or less,” he said as we walked a little deeper into the casino. I assumed he was making his rounds, because he gave a few of the more raucous patrons a stern look. “Have you met the rest of the Ambassadors?”
“Well, I have yet to meet the Vorlon, but Ambassador Delenn was very cordial. So was her aide - Lennier, I think his name was. You know I’ve met G’Kar, but the Centauri Ambassador is also a no-show,” I rattled off, and the Chief nodded his head.
“I think I can help with that last one. Come with me,” he said ushering me through several groups of people until we caught sight of a man in dark purple finery. A green drink was perched half-empty between his fingers, and a scantily clad dancer was sprawled across his lap.
“What a fortunate man I am to have such beautiful company,” he growled as his lips split into a devious grin. Two sharp fangs served to make him look rather intimidating. My escort cleared his throat, and the man looked up. “Ah, Mr. Garibaldi! How are you this evening, my dear friend? And you’ve brought a charming young lady with you! Excellent! Join us, join us!”
“I can’t, actually, I’m on duty. I just thought I’d introduce you to our newest commercial telepath. If you’re busy, we can do this later...?”
“No, no, no, not at all! Run along, beautiful. I’ll catch up with you in a few minutes,” the Centuari murmured to his companion, and she slid off his lap and over to another table of patrons. The Ambassador stood and gave me a small bow. “Londo Mollari, of the Centauri Empire. It is a pleasure to meet you.”
I introduced myself, and to my surprise, the Ambassador lifted my gloved hand to his lips.
“The honor is mine, Ambassador Mollari,” I murmured, but he made a disapproving sound.
“I will not hear of such formality from you, Ms. Lane. Please, call me Londo. Forgive my curiosity, my dear, but has something happened to Ms. Winters?” He sounded genuinely concerned for her, so it was a happy task to set him straight.
“No, she’s perfectly fine. The Corps assigned me here at her urging. She was receiving so many service requests that she was having to turn down more jobs than she accepted. I’m just here to help lighten the load a bit.”
“Ah, I see. Well, I hope you will enjoy your stay on Babylon Five,” Londo said with a fanged grin. “If you will take some advice, I’d recommend you stay clear of the Narn Ambassador. He can be a bit...abrasive.”
Huh. First the Commander warned me about G’Kar, then Talia, and now Londo. Goodness, the Narn Ambassador had certainly managed to garner a reputation. I couldn’t help but wonder whether it was warranted. Sure, he’d been irritable when I first met him, but he was rather charming when he calmed down. The vibrancy of his spots didn’t help matters...
I mentally shook myself out of my thoughts just in time for Londo to bid us both good evening before walking off to go find where his lady friend had gone. Despite the cacophony of the crowd, I couldn’t help but acknowledge that this was going to be an interesting assignment, if nothing else.

Psychosis - Dabi/Hawks/Bakugou x f!Reader
A/N: This story will contain adult themes/language and graphic depictions sex, drug use, suicide, mental illness. Minors- Please do not interact.
A gentle rain fell from the sky, droplets pinging softly against the metal roof. Dreary skies accompanied the drizzle, casting everything in a shade of gray.
As you stepped out of the car, the crisp autumn wind rushed against you, and you pulled your blazer tighter around your body, beginning your brisk walk into the building.
The large doors opened with a heavy groan, exposing you to stuffy air that smelled both sickly and stale. Ahead was a large wooden desk, plexiglass shields between you and the receptionist.
“Good morning, how can I help you?” The girl smiled, her cheeks rosy.
“Good morning, I have a meeting with Director Todoroki. I’m here to begin my residency.” You smiled back.
“Oh! Yes, he let me know you’d be coming. Please, come right this way!” She said, swiping her badge to open the door beside the desk.
The short walk to the directors office was quiet, save for the sound of heels clacking against tile, echoing throughout the narrow corridor.
After a brief knock, you were permitted entry and took a seat. Before you was a large and intricately carved wooden desk, with bookshelves and filing cabinets lining the wall. On the far side of the desk sat a broad and intimidating man.
“Welcome. It’s nice to finally meet you, I’ve heard a lot of wonderful things.” He said, extending his hand.
“Thank you, I’m excited to get started! I really appreciate the opportunity you’ve given me.” You smiled, shaking his hand. You were almost startled by how warm his skin was, hot to the touch.
“Of course. I trust you read the email that was sent out covering the basics. Do you have any questions?” He asked, blue eyes staring intently at your face.
“No, none so far. If any come up, I’ll be sure to get them cleared up before I leave today.” You said, clasping your hands in your lap as he nodded in approval.
“Right. Here is everything you will need. This is your badge, it is your access to everywhere within the facility. You will also have a PIN number you can use to override the main doors, and a skeleton key in case of a power outage. All of these must be kept on your person at all times, and keep them out of sight. If a patient gets access, or you notice any of them are missing, you sound the alarm immediately.” He said firmly, sliding the objects over to you.
“Here is your name plate. While not required, it is highly recommended. This will help the other staff and patients to identify you for now. Usually we instruct to wear it for your first 90 days just to make sure there isn’t any confusion.” He explained, laying it on the table before you as well.
You took all of the items, putting them in their respective places, before facing forward once more. He looked you over once again, the air becoming tense.
“I have one of our interns on the way over to give you a tour and show you your daily stations. Before they arrive, I would like to stress the most important rule of this facility: Always be on guard. We have had a high turnover with staffing in the past recent years. It will be hard, you will be overwhelmed, some patients will make you uncomfortable, and there is always a risk of violence. While we take every precaution we can to ensure your safety, this asylum houses the criminally insane. The people inside of here will use you and destroy you if you are not careful. I trust that you are more than qualified and fully capable to work here, but heed my warning, do not trust anyone.” The look in his eyes was desperate as he spoke, and it made your stomach churn with anxiety.
A knock on the door broke the silence that had followed, both of your attention pulled to the young man that entered after.
His wavy green hair and wide smile provided immediate comfort, clearing the heavy atmosphere that had previously hung in the air.
“Good morning, miss. My name is Izuku Midoriya and I’ll be showing you around!” His excited voice chirped. You pushed yourself to stand, turning back to your new boss.
“Thank you for everything, Director. I look forward to learning from everyone here, and will always be on guard.” You smiled.
“Good, see that you do, and just Enji is fine.” He dismissed you with a wave of his hand, attention shifting to the document before him.
You followed Midoriya out of the office and through a set of doors into the main hall. It led to a common area and you could see the courtyard through the large windows.
Patients sat scattered around the room, eating, playing games and quietly talking amongst themselves.
“This is what we refer to as Level One. The patients here are pretty low risk. It’s usually calm down here, though there is definitely the occasional scuffle!” He laughed.
“My friend Shouto is the intern that usually works this floor. He’s a funny guy, mainly keeps to himself, but I’m sure you’ll get along well! He’s pretty easy going.” Midoriya smiled.
“I’ll keep my eyes open for him.” You said enthusiastically, following as Midoriya pointed out doctors and patients as you passed them.
He told you the main psychiatrist of the floor was Dr. Gum. A large and very joyful man, and if you ever needed him you could usually find him in the cafeteria.
With that, he led you to the elevator and into Level 2 of the building. This area posed a moderate amount of risk. Patients often didn’t act out unprompted but you were cautioned that they were much more reactive. You had no trouble finding the doctor on the floor, him being incredibly loud.
“That’s Dr. Mic, he oversees level 2. As you can probably guess, this floor is pretty lively. This is my main floor, and if you ever need me, don’t be afraid to grab me. For the most part I don’t have too many issues here so I’m always happy to help where I can!” He smiled.
As he showed you the floor and introduced you to some of the patients, you couldn’t help but feel the eyes around the room on you everywhere you went. You knew with each increased level, the patients cases would become more severe, and with that they’d become more disturbed by your sudden appearance.
Next was Level 3. Midoriya warned you in the elevator to be careful. As soon as the doors opened, you could feel the shift. There were no patients out wandering as there had been on the previous floors. While the others had basic rooms, the patients in Level 3 were much closer to locked cells.
“This floor runs a bit differently. Because of their highly reactive states and the nature of their crimes, patients on this floor aren’t allowed out without supervision. They also can’t all be out at once.” He told you.
“Is it because they’re more prone to fighting?” You asked.
“That’s part of it, but they just usually start conspiring against staff. It’s a bit of a newer rule we had to implement. We had a handful of workers that had to be hospitalized after an incident on night shift that got out of hand. But it usually isn’t that bad! A lot of them are medicated anyways, so they’re generally pretty tame. You can’t take your eyes off of them though.” He explained, and you nodded thoughtfully.
As you rounded the corner, you saw an angry blonde reclining against the desk, face set in a deep scowl.
“That’s Bakugou, the intern for this floor. He might seem a little hot-headed at first, but he isn’t so bad once you get to know him. He’s probably just as reactive as the patients, though, so tread lightly.” He laughed awkwardly, and you could sense his discomfort as he spoke.
Continuing on, he led you to a very tiny common area. He explained the roster hanging beside the door and how they used it to keep track of which patients could enter at the same times.
You noticed one patient talking with a doctor.
“That’s Dr. Aizawa, the psychiatrist for this floor. He’s an amazing doctor. I would highly recommend working with him if you’re able. I’m sure it gets a bit more rowdy up here sometimes, but I think it’d be worth it. He has a lot to offer as a teacher.” Midoriya said, a flash of warmth crossing his features as he spoke.
“I’ve actually heard of him. He was a graduate of my university and they spoke very highly of him. I’d really like the chance to sit down with him at some point and would love the opportunity to be able to work with him.” You beamed.
“Im sure you’ll be able to! He’s sort of standoffish and can seem a bit cold at first, but he’s really nice. Im sure with a little convincing he’d take you under his wing!” He smiled back, resting his hand on your shoulder.
He then lead you back down to the first floor, on the hunt for Dr. Gum. You were told he currently held your roster of patients and you’d be shadowing him for your first day until they determined which level you would be stationed on.
Dr. Gum was in his office, take-out containers scattered across his desk like a buffet. He greeted you warmly, large hands encircling yours easily.
He offered to share his lunch with you, telling you to eat up for what he was sure would be a long first day. The two of you talked about the job and expectations, as well as some of the other staff.
He was an exceptionally kind man, in everything he did there was a feeling of joy. You could tell he loved his job and his patients, even if they weren’t the best of people.
“Level One patients are what we call High-Hopes. These are the ones with the most potential to leave the facility at some point. We work very hard to help them overcome their illnesses and difficulties as we’d love for them to be able to rejoin society at some point! Most of them are troubled by their past, but aren’t terribly dangerous. I think they’re just people who have made mistakes. My goal here is to give them the skills needed to cope with the outside world and to be able to not only succeed, but to thrive.” He told you.
As you followed him, talking with different patients on the floor, the intern Shouto made his way over.
“Hello, I am Shouto Todoroki. It’s very nice to meet you.” He said, offering a formal bow.
“It’s nice to meet you, too! Are you by any chance related to the director?” You asked, and his face twitched.
“Unfortunately, yes. I am his youngest son.” He said, tone void but you could see the unhappiness that settled over his features.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean-“
“No, it’s fine. You’re the new psychiatrist that’s just began their residency, correct?” He said, cutting you off with a swift change of topic.
“Yeah, that’s me! I look forward to working with you, Todoroki.” You smiled.
“Just Shouto is fine.” He said before abruptly turning and walking away.
“He’s a bit formal and blunt sometimes, but that kid has a heart of gold, I promise!” Dr. Gum’s laugh followed, hearty and full, filling the room.
_______
The end of your first day was quickly approaching, and you were going over patient files and the logging system they used at the Yuuie Asylum, when Dr. Gum’s phone rang.
“Yes?…Oh! Yes she’s here with me now actually…Of course, I’ll bring her up.” He spoke before hanging up and shooting you a brilliant smile.
“It seems you’re wanted upstairs. Best not to keep him waiting.” He stood, lending a hand to help you up. He guided you toward the elevator, and you noticed him press the button for Level 3. You couldn’t tell if it was anxiety or excitement that churned your stomach, but you were ready nonetheless.
When you arrived at the third floor, you were led to a back hallway, following it down to a door which Dr. Gum held open for you. On the other side, was the small common area you had seen in your first tour with Midoriya.
“Figured I’d take you the back way, it’s always good to know the routes around here, just in case.” He smiled.
As you stepped into the common room, you saw three men. The first was who you knew to be Dr. Aizawa. He had a slender build, and looked utterly exhausted. His hair was tied back and his coat hung loosely around him. His bloodshot eyes zeroed in on you immediately, but he made no move to speak.
The other two men were sat at the table, one looked to be a counselor. He had golden hair and the same bright aura that Dr. Gum carried with him.
The man who was clearly a patient sat with his back hunched, face void of any emotion. His blank eyes watched the blonde man, unblinking. You noticed the deep scarring on his face, torso and limbs, feeling a pang of sympathy for the man. You couldn’t imagine what he had been through.
You cautiously entered the room, slow steps on the ceramic floor alerting everyone to your presence. All eyes turned to you, and it was in that moment that you recognized the burned man.
“It’s you.” Were the only words he uttered, his tone in total disbelief, and the other doctors looked over at him in shock.
“Hey, long time no see! I wasn’t expecting to see a familiar face today.” You greeted him warmly, ignoring the tension and questions you could feel lingering in the air.
You walked over to the man, placing your hand on his shoulder gently and giving a light squeeze.
“It’s good to see you again, I always wondered what had happened after you left. I hoped that you’d be alright.” You continued.
“Don’t know if I’d really consider myself alright. Best I can say is I’m alive.” He accepted your touch, scoffing back at your words.
“I’m glad.” You said, sincerity shining in your words.
“How is it that you two know each other?” Dr. Aizawa asked skeptically, stepping forward and you could see the suspicion swirling in his dark eyes.
“He was one of my patients when I worked in the behavioral unit of Yuuie Hospital. I had worked with him on and off for about six months.” You explained.
“I see. I think I’ve seen enough for now. Mirio, we will continue on as we have been. Dabi, you will continue your sessions with Mr. Togata and myself as usual.” Dr. Aizawa said, met quickly with Dabi’s refusal.
“No. Im not talking to anyone ‘cept her.” He spat coldly.
“Is there some reason you are unable to speak to us?” Aizawa questioned.
“I know her.” Dabi glared, ignoring the question.
“She can definitely be included in the rotation if that-“
“Fuck off.” Dabi yelled, hands slamming against the table.
“Mirio, take the patient back to his room, please.” Dr. Aizawa said, shooting a cold look in Dabi’s direction.
Mirio cuffed Dabi, before firmly pulling him to his feet and out of the room. Dabi didn’t put up a fight, simply stomping along beside him.
“I suppose it’s his lucky day.” Aizawa said, looking to you.
“Huh? What do you mean?” You asked, your brow furrowing.
“This was what we call the ‘Last Hope Evaluation’, it’s our process to determine where someone falls in terms of progress. Dabi has been a difficult patient, refusing to speak to any of us during the few months he has been here. Had you not came when you did, he would have failed.” He explained.
“What happens when they fail?” You asked.
“We shift focus. Initially, when patients are brought in, we determine their level. A Level One has the potential to one day be released. Some may stay a Level One, and others will progress to Level Two. Level Two is for patients that are sort of in an in-between. They are potentially dangerous, but not typically reactive. They are monitored, and receive the same evaluations. If their condition improves they can be lowered to a Level One, or they may also stay the same or increase to a Level Three. Level Three’s are dangerous, they cannot be without supervision. It is very rare for someone to leave the third floor. However, the “Last Hope” is for us to identify how to progress with treatment. You will find that some are more open than others. Those who are, we actively work with in an attempt to better them with the expectation that they may decrease in level. Those that fail are usually either unable or unwilling to improve, and so we simply provide a content stay. We give them general therapy and medication as needed, feed and cloth them. If they at some point begin to show signs of improvement or wanting to improve, we start the cycle again, but until then, we simply allow them to exist here.” Dr. Aizawa explained.
“Ah, I see. Do you think I’ll be working closely with him, then?” You asked, unable to hold back the excitement in your voice. It wasn’t necessarily a pleasant situation, but you would be happy to be able to continue on with someone who had haunted the recesses of your mind for so long. You wanted to understand him, understand what he went through, and figure out a way to help him.
Most of what you remembered about him surrounded his anger. Many of the small details had been lost to time, your memory failing you, but you could still see the way his eyes looked so heartbreakingly hollow as he spoke about himself and his life.
“Perhaps. I’m going to call a meeting shortly with the director and discuss this matter with him. Go home for today, I’ll have more information tomorrow.
_________
You walked alone down the hall, Dr. Gum staying back to talk to Dr. Aizawa. You entered the elevator, your mind lost in a hazy daydream.
As you descended down to the second floor, the door chimed and opened. At seeing Midoriya running between rooms, you had stepped out, wanting to go and talk to him. It was only then you noticed the man a few feet away.
He was alone, wearing a navy jumpsuit, his blonde hair styled messily and a broom in his hands. He glanced up at you, flashing a smile as he stopped sweeping.
“Are you the new doc they’ve been talking about?” He asked, taking a few steps toward you and leaning his broom against the wall.
“I am, first day.” You said with a laugh and he nodded.
“Names Hawks,” he pointed to the badge embroidered on his front pocket, “I’m the custodian. I know it probably isn’t much coming from me, but if you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to ask.” He said, a lazy grin on his face.
“Oh no, I appreciate it! I’m sure you have a lot of insight to how things go around here! I’ll take all of the help I can get.” You reassured, and you saw the spark of confidence in his gaze grow.
“Good, I’m glad! But uh-that looks my cue to get back to work.” He cringed, the loud sound of a patient vomiting across the room cutting the conversation short.
Midoriya had disappeared off into one of the patients rooms, so you instead made your way down to the main floor, did a double check that you had everything on you, and headed home for the evening.

Season of The Witch (Steve Harrington x OC)
Tumblr media
Chapter Fifteen: Cookies N Cream
masterlist-about-patreon-ao3
Summar: “Was she always this quiet?” Steve seemed oblivious, having lived a full life listening to her laugh and grumble about people she didn’t have the nicest feelings for. “Oh,” he begins, the straw finally settling into the bottom of the glass as it melts into something softer. “She just needs time. She wanted nothing t’do with me when we first met,” Warnings: Flashbask, cute baby steve, mentions of illness and ptsd? Word count: 1,751 Revised 5/13/23 MAJOR CHANGE in how Steve and Autumn met.
If you had told Jim Hopper years ago that this would be his life, he would have laughed it off, believing the other to be a fool. He had been knee deep in cases so bone chilling that it kept the man up at night, staring up to the ceiling or to his wife as he wondered what kind of life he would live without her support? Without her?
The universe is funny that way. Bringing you up to a high, before releasing its hold to let you plummet back down to the Earth, with all of your demons that waited to swallow you whole. You were tested - your strength, values, and patience. Pushed to the limit until something caves, surrendering that piece of happiness without hope of finding that next thing to bring a smile to your face. Bliss was far from your reach now. And despite that lack of brilliance, Hopper found himself..entertained by the two children sat across from him. Wondering for the hundredth time since moving to this small town, how the hell he wound up in a situation like this one.
It hadn’t taken much convincing to get the trio to move across the street from the cinema with the promise of a sweet treat from the relatively new police chief. “Stranger danger” be damned as the children - or Steve rather, put all of his trust into that shiny new badge and followed the man out to the diner, his slender fingers laced together delicately with his still silent friend. She clung to him with both hands, fearful that she may suddenly be swept away in the crowd and left to fend for herself as unspoken fears devoured her. Now in their new comforts, they sit by large windows facing out to the street so the boy can watch for his mothers car, all the while enjoying milkshakes that were mostly intended as a means to encourage the girl to open up. To find some comfort in Hopper. But her face remains a statue, staring down at the vanilla shake with smashed cookie pieces, something the waitress had recommended for the girl as she wouldn’t agree to share her friend's chocolatey dessert. She would twist the fragile base back and forth along the table, chewing at her lower lip while Steve basked in this unexpected twist of events, using all of his might to suck down the thick drink through the straw. He would easily become frustrated and instead use it as a makeshift spoon.
Hopper was..amused to say the least. Lips curled into a small grin and holding onto unfinished thoughts of how to help this girl, how to get her to talk. “It’s Autumn, yeah?” Doe eyes are cast his way for the second time that night, a nod following just after and he marks that as a success in his book. The girl had hardly acknowledged him before, or anything for that matter. “How’d you meet this kid?” he questions, eyes glancing towards her friend with chocolate staining the corner of his mouth, though she paid his mess no mind as she looked to him for help, not yet ready to speak for herself. “Y’know Ms. Kelley?” the boy mumbles, rolling his eyes as the name practically soars over the officer's head, blank eyes staring right back at him. “She was my babysitter - well, hers too. I was at Ms. Kelley’s house when her dad just showed up. Had t’drop Autumn off for an emergency at work or something.” The man nods along to his words, lips pursed together in a thin line, wondering just how much it would take before she spoke a single word to him, if ever. “Was she always this quiet?”
Steve seemed oblivious, having lived a full life listening to her laugh and grumble about people she didn’t have the nicest feelings for. “Oh,” he begins, the straw finally settling into the bottom of the glass as it melts into something softer. “She just needs time. She wanted nothing t’do with me when we first met,” he says with a toothy grin, biting at the red plastic and his friend seems to mimic his expression, though shy as her head ducks low. Somehow Hopper has no trouble believing the boy, already picturing the scenario perfectly where his mouth ran a mile a minute, not giving the girl a chance to escape his forced friendship until it became something real, something genuine, and pure.
“How’s your drink, kid?” the officer questions in a gentle tone, his warm smile still not earning anything more than a glance his way. Autumn hasn’t done more than twirl the tall glass across the table, watching as the water collects into patterns in hopes she could make out a picture. She’s hesitant at first, leaning forward then pausing to second guess herself before finally taking a long sip, letting the sweet and bitter taste flood her senses, leaving the girl wide eyed with full cheeks, chewing on the softened cookies. Steve finds himself laughing, hands abandoning his own milkshake to reach for hers. “Let me try,” he says, only to be shot down instantaneously. Her sweet gaze turns to a glare aimed his way, the frosty glass pulled far from his reach and the boy can’t help but gawk in surprise, though holding a familiar sparkle of amusement in his eye. His attention is easily lost as he looks to the window just next to his friend, finding something familiar to strike his interest and soon, he’s shuffling across the squeaking seat. “That’s my mom!”
As he slips away, Autumn tries to follow though his hands are held out to keep her seated, much to her evident despair. Lips parted and eyes wide in a look of sheer horror she would be asked to sit behind with a total stranger. Trusted, yes. But a stranger nonetheless. “S’okay, Aut. Wait here, I’ll be right back.” The worrisome look in her eyes doesn’t fade, silently pleading for Steve to drag her along even though it was only just across the street. The boy lets out a small huff, smiling down at the girl with nothing but pure endearment as he reaches to push a strand of hair from her face, laying it just behind her ear. “Five minutes, max.” Her face falls to something of somewhat disbelief, contorted and mocking his promise in silence and he knows it, rolling his brown eyes. “Four minutes.” Autumn’s expression doesn’t change, and he seems to grow more desperate with eyes glancing towards the cinema then back to her. “Three minutes and forty seconds, final offer!” But he doesn’t wait for her to counter, instead dashing off down the aisle and out into the night, leaving her with a body painfully twisted to watch him vanish just over the tall leather chair. She doesn’t settle back into the seat until the boy is safely across the street, his figure hidden by the many bodies now swarming the building to see a new thrill for the night.
Their eyes catch for a moment, and she feels small. That shimmer she had moments ago now dim, confidence stomped out like a campfire. Jim wonder’s for a moment, if he’s done something wrong - if he’s done anything right at all by her.
“She needs time,” the boy said. But what had brought her to this point of becoming so distrusting? So hesitant?
“You two seem really close,” Hopper says, guiding child-like eyes back in his direction, too timid to hold his stare as she drinks quietly from the sweet treat, eyes cast down to his folded hands. “He said you get sick, yeah?” There’s a visible pause, the straw clearing as the shake falls back to the bottom of the glass, slowly chewing at the chocolate pieces as she ponders over her thoughts. And then, his second success; she nods in reply. “You see anyone? Doctor, or anything?” The girl's lips are pursed, brows knitted together before she gives a gentle shake of her head. She’s speaking to him in her own way, and the officer is running with it for as far as he can go. “Did you see anything in the movie that..made you feel ill? Or did someone speak to you?” The words fall heavy on fragile shoulders, causing them to slump and leaving the girl to look more defeated and deflated than she already had been. The drink no longer appealing, its base resting between her fingers as she slowly spins it back and forth and Hopper feels as though the building wall of trust has crumbled at his feet. So he lets out a small sigh, falling back into his seat to dig for his wallet, flipping through bills in preparation to pay for the kids before the boy returned with his mother in tow.
“I don’t know.”
Her words are ghostly, whispered, dancing through the air. Fighting their way with grace through the busy, cluttered air of a dinner rush as the many guests around them talked boisterously. He glances her way, unsure if his ears had been playing tricks on him. But the small voice couldn’t have belonged to anyone else.
“Sometimes..s’like a flip switches in my brain. Then I’m here, and I don’t really remember anything.”
He doesn’t move, gaze frozen on her with fingers locked in place around the money he intended to pull from his old, torn, leather wallet. Mentally, he had been running a mile a minute, piecing together the few words she spared as his shock slowly fades into the background. Her broken silence suddenly creating a huge hurdle that he had to scale with force in order to understand the girl, like he had done with many cases from his past. A study of character, both victim and assailant. Was it post traumatic stress disorder? A sickness? Amnesia? Did she simply struggle with lapses of memory? The options were endless and he was left without spare time as the boy began making his way across the street with his mother.
“Do you ever get that?” she questions, for a moment, looking hopeful as she leans forward - seeking an answer she hasn’t yet heard to clear a heavy cloud looming overhead. “Can’t say that I have, kid,” he mumbles, feeling a familiar ache in his chest the moment his words sink in, a hope crushed before his very eyes with sadness eating her away bit by bit. She had been waiting to find someone just like her, to feel less alone despite the constant comfort around her.
“Steve doesn’t, either.”

A birth center lost diversity points for using the term Mother.
https://archive.is/2023.11.19-103726/https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/11/18/maternity-hospital-downgraded-use-term-mother-diversity/

A maternity hospital received a low grade on a diversity assessment because staff only use the term “mother” when discussing maternity leave, The Telegraph can disclose.
The Cambridge University Hospital Trust, which manages a maternity hospital called the Rosie, lost points because staff use the term “mother” when referring to the policies it had in place regarding paid leave, instead of broadening it to include gender-neutral alternatives.
The report was carried out by the NHS’ “Rainbow Badge” scheme, which assesses hospitals based on how they treat LGBT patients.
The trust also lost points for not providing staff with guidance on what trans and non-binary employees should wear, pointing out how the trust’s “trans inclusion policy” did not provide “guidance on the dress code for trans employees, including non-binary employees.”
The report also flagged a “cause for concern” about a deluge of comments from staff criticising the trust’s inclusivity efforts for “virtue signaling” instead of providing care, including one comment which said: “We cannot waste taxpayers’ money on tokenism.”
The report said: “0 points were awarded for the Maternity Leave Policy. The policy does not have an inclusion statement to make clear that it applies to all irrespective of gender/gender of partner etc. The policy also refers to “mother” without expanding to include gender-neutral/inclusive terms and only uses he/she pronouns throughout.”
‘I just want to live my life’
One member of staff who said he was gay is cited calling the Rainbow Badge “insulting.”
They wrote: “I feel it is excessive - I just want to live my life; I don’t want to be asked; I don’t want my identity reduced to a label. I am tired of it - I just want to live my life like everyone else.”
Another said: “Rainbow badges are just performative; I would prefer all staff be properly trained and supportive to all needs, not singling out one or two.”
Another wrote: “I am gravely concerned about the influence on the NHS of organisations like Mermaids and Stonewall. I am concerned about the protection of single-sex spaces like hospital wards.
“I am concerned that men are being allowed to self-ID into women’s protected single-sex spaces, and the serious safeguarding risk this poses. I am concerned that this is all being ignored in favor of mindless virtue signaling like this latest ‘NHS Rainbow’ scheme.”
The report recommended that hospital staff “signal” to patients that they are LGBT inclusive by introducing themselves to patients with their pronouns and putting sanitary products in all toilets.
The report, however, did praise aspects of the trust’s approach to inclusion that were already in place.
It endorsed the fact that the group tasked with hiring senior staff has to include a “Diversity Inclusion Panellist” with “lived experience of a protected characteristic” whose role is to ensure that the staff carry out hiring processes “fairly.”
It also commended how the hospitals set “inclusion-based objectives” to senior managers as part of their annual appraisal.
The “Rainbow Badge” initiative began as a physical badge launched by Evelina London’s Children’s Hospital in February 2019 that staff could wear to show they are aware of the issues LGBT people face in the NHS.
Matt Hancock supported the scheme as health secretary.

In 2021, the “Rainbow Badge” went from a physical symbol to a nationwide scheme that assesses hospitals based on how they treated LGBT staff by placing them on a scale between gold, silver, and bronze.
The report on the Cambridge University Hospital trust received the lowest possible grade, referred to as “initial stage,” meaning it failed to even qualify for the “bronze” award.
The scheme is commissioned by NHS England but run by trans rights groups, including Stonewall and the LGBT Foundation, who carry out the grading.
In August, it was revealed that 77 trusts have signed up for the scheme.
The Cambridge University Hospital Trust declined to comment.

"Oh. Hi." Blades said, inching awkwardly towards the scary, scarred up bot currently sitting on the steps of the courthouse. "Uh, well, you see, you kinda can't have open engex here? It's not safe for the humans."
"Uh. Cool. Yeah, I will put a safety cap on." The bot grabbed a cap and straw out of his ragged duffel bag and twisted it on. Have a good one, officer...?"
"EMT Blades, but no, I just drew the short straw. At least you're nice? Are you staying here?"
The bot smiled, relaxing from his easy-going but cautious mood. "Yeah, I will be looking for work later on. Just wanted to watch people. You don't mind me using the stairs as a seat? I didn't see anywhere else I could rest for a moment. I'm Rattlegun, and i have a microcon named Squeak around here somewhere. Trust me, i don't like the name either, but he likes, and that's what matters. "
Blades noticed that Rattlegun's arms were covered in scratched engravings, scars that never quite matched in age. There were some dress paint, fresh from his retirement ceremony, including several for exemplary service and extended contracts. Blades wondered if it hurt to get them done. He just had to ask. "Did it hurt getting the engravings done?"
"Yeah, no worse than the autobrand, though. Better than engex after a battle, am I right? Huh, wait, no, you look too well fed. You must be someone recovered from some stasis pod somewhere."
"Yep. You got me. Ran into a sparkeater, had to rush into stasis, no time to signal for help."
"Eh, you didn't miss much." Rattke gun though for a minute. "A war, a couple genocides, war crimes, collapse of civilization, and the death of the planet. You're lucky you missed it, really. This town is nice. Got any recommendations for a warehouse rental and a local construction or shipping company looking for labor?"
"Unfortunately, no. Griffin Rock is too small for big construction. Try the docks? Warehouses are hard to get. Land is expensive here. You are better off renting a space in the underground overnight parking next to the courthouse until you save up a little nest egg to buy a more dilapidated one and just get some permits to rebuild it. I know that my buddies, Heatwave and Chase, can make sure everything is up to code and won't be a hazard to the humans, and my friend Boulder and I could help with construction. Also, thank you for your service. "
"Eh, to be honest, joining the army branch of the Autobots wasn't the greatest life decision. But at least we eventually won in the end." Rattlegun chuckled, and Blades flinched as the plating on Rattlegun's throat vibrated and shook. "You wh-eh-wanna get out, buddy?"
Rattlegun cleared his intake before lifting his hand towards his mouth, opening it as far as it can go, and coughing as a microcon the size of Cody climbed out of Rattlegun's throat. "Blades, this is my microcon friend Squeak. Squeak, this is medic Blades. Be nice to him. He seems to be good people, and we need to keep some of those." Squeak, well, squeaked, in that high pitched cybex that was just barely out of Blades's audible range without his translator.
"You better treat my amica right, medic. I'm watching you."
"Squeak, I promise Rattlegun will find nothing but allies here. You got an alt mode that's comfortable for the night? I can pay for parking? As a measure of thanks for your service, I noticed your exemplary service markings."
Rattlegun gave Blades a strained smile, fed up with hearing about the worse mistake he had made in his life yet again being framed as his greatest honor. "That would be lovely. It's getting late, I'm getting tipsy, and the walk isn't getting any shorter. Let's get going."
Blades paid for the parking spot, and Rattlegun folded into his humvee alt mode, his military badges morphing into bumper stickers proclaiming him a proud veteran. Squeak settled into the driver's seat, and the two of them settled in for the night, hoping to find work in the morning.

Chapter Five | Masterlist
He’s ripped from a peaceful slumber by his work phone ringing on the night table. Y/N asleep on his chest, he tries to reach for it without waking her, successfully he answers with a groggy whisper, “hello?”
“Morning sleepy head?” Emily laughs, “it’s 10 am, Reid, why are you whispering?”
“I’m with my girlfriend, she’s still asleep,” he realizes he’s never told the team flat out that he was seeing someone, they all guessed but none of them had really asked.
“Oh,” Emily seems just as shocked that he said it. “We have a local case, I need you here for the geo profile and then you can go back to your mandated break.”
“I’ll be in, in 30,” he replies before hanging up.
“Can I come?” She whispers against him, obviously awake from all the commotion.
“Sure,” he shrugs, “if you don’t mind seeing and hearing about whatever horrific thing happened this time.”
“I don’t,” she sits up and stretches, “come on Mulder, we’ve got a case to crack.”
He laughs, “sure thing Scully.”
He’s nervous in the elevator on the way up to the BAU, Y/N on the other hand is so excited she’s practically vibrating. She’s dressed for the part, with her little visitor's badge and Spencer’s hand held tightly in her own, she basically drags him towards the bullpen when the doors open.
“Spence!” Luke calls for him, Tara and Matt turn around with big smiles to see him. “Who’s this?”
“Uh,” Spencer swallows sharply, “this is my girlfriend, Y/N this is Luke, Matt and Tara.”
She lets go of his hand to shake theirs, he watches as they all smile and introduce themselves to her, causing the rest of the team to notice the new person in the room and rush over. They have a lot of questions, they’re all very surprised she’s as young as he was when he started at the bureau and that he’s actually bringing her around.
When he finds out what’s going on, he’s really glad he brought her in. There’s been a few bomb threats in D.C, one of which is the building across from Y/N’s apartment. They’re trying to keep hysteria to a minimum, he knows he wouldn’t have been able to tell her if he didn’t bring her, he also knows he would have broken protocol to get her out of there.
She sits at his desk while he works, looking through all his things for a while before Spencer hears a familiar voice in the bullpen. Penelope was called in for backup, making eye contact with Y/N as soon as she walked in and cheering. “Oh! You’re here!”
Spencer leaves the briefing room, abandoning the geo-profile to introduce Penelope to the girl she helped him find, he runs down the stairs and wraps his arms around her.
“Spencer,” she relaxes into his embrace and holds him close, “I’ve missed you so much.”
When Spencer pulls away, the smile on his face is remarkable, “Penelope, this is Y/N,” he says her name and Penelope automatically knows who she is.
He told her right after he bought her whole Wishlist, Penelope has known about her the longest and yet she’s never been able to meet her. She turns to Y/N with a smile, “are you a hugger?”
Y/N stands and wraps her arms around her, “I think I owe you a very big thank you,” she whispers in Penelope’s ear.
“For what?”
“Teaching grandpa over here how to use the internet,” she teases him, “and for your helpful tips, he was the nicest one I met on there.”
“You’re very welcome,” Penelope pulls back with another smile, holding Y/N’s face in her hands, “and thank you.”
Y/N pulls her into another hug and now everyone is watching, Spencer knows he’s going to be bombarded with questions eventually but for now, Y/N is going with Penelope to her office and Spencer has a map to look at while he stresses himself out.
Matt, Tara and Emily head to the scene to join JJ, Rossi and Will, leaving Luke with Spencer in the briefing room.
“Can I ask?”
Spencer nods, “go ahead.”
“How did you meet her? Was she one of your students?”
He doesn’t know how to answer, not because he’s ashamed of it or of her, rather because he doesn’t know if she’ll want people to really know. “Penelope helped me get online to meet people, I made an account on a sugar daddy website thinking it would be easier to pay someone who doesn’t know me to hang out rather than try and make a new friend.”
“That’s smart,” Luke nods along as he listens. “She seems really cool.”
“She’s the best,” he smiles. “She’s really smart and talented, she’s an author actually, her books coming out in January.”
“I’ll have to get a copy,” Luke smiles right back.
“Her publisher and I have actually planned a big birthday party slash final draft party, if you and the team want to come and have drinks and get to know her more, that would be really nice,” Spencer offers, knowing it’s about time they all celebrated something together.
“I’d love to come, and I’ll bring Penelope,” Luke’s just as excited as he is.
“I’m a little surprised you didn’t know already, being with Penelope and everything?”
He shrugs, “we don’t talk about work or really gossip about the team now that she’s not working here, it makes her a little sad that she left but she’s doing a lot better just coming in occasionally.”
“I didn’t think I’d like my months off at first, either, but now I’m also debating leaving,” he knows it's a lie. He’s already written his letter of recognition, he’s just waiting for the go-ahead from Y/N that they’re moving to California.
“16 years is a really long time to be doing this job,” he agrees, “I’m sure if you wanted to leave the bureau would offer you your full retirement package early, given everything you’ve been through for this country.”
Spencer nods, “don’t let this job take your spark, you’re very wonderful, Luke, and I’d hate to see you lose it for the greater good.”
“My greater good is just down the hall,” he smirks, “I make the world a better place for the woman I love, she’s the reason I get up every day and come to work because I can’t wait to get home to her safely.”
Luke has always loved Penelope, it’s been very obvious, and yet she didn’t want really anything to do with him until Derek advised her to be nice. She was so busy thinking about all her other babies leaving the nest after Derek that she didn’t take the time to consider bringing in Luke to the nest for warmth and love as well.
“When are you asking her to marry you?”
Luke turns bashful, a slight blush on his cheeks as he stares at the table, “Christmas, it’s her favourite time of the year.”
“Have you talked to Derek?” Spencer only worries slightly, after what happened with Kevin he doesn’t want to see it happen to Luke.
“Nope, I’ve talked to her brothers though, we’re going to California again this year for Christmas and they all said they’d love to have me in the family,” Luke smiles, “the Garcias are my favourite.”
Spencer isn’t normally a hugger but he walks around the table and wraps Luke up, “I’m asking Y/N in a week.”
“No way?”
He nods, “she’s the greatest good I’m ever going to get.”
“Amen, brother.”
Penelope’s job was incredible, she was in awe as she watched her tap away at her keyboard and answer a million and one questions. She reminded her of Ned from Kim Possible and she knew if she said that to anyone she’d give away just how young she is.
She’s gotten a lot of looks, she knows people are talking about it and yet she doesn’t really care. There isn’t any malice behind the stares and the whispers, they all seem genuinely surprised that Spencer has a girlfriend over the fact she’s in her 20’s.
There’s a single dull moment and she turns to Y/N, “can I please have the juicy details, please,” she begs and it makes her feel giddy.
She’s never really had any girlfriends like this, and she certainly didn’t have anyone to tell about Spencer. “He’s the love of my life, I’m completely serious.”
Penelope squealed, “that’s all I’ve ever wanted for him, ugh this is so exciting! Are you guys serious? How long has it been?”
She nods, “not long, uh he got me this necklace a week or two ago and we’ve been moving pretty slow for his sake. In the last 10 months he’s become my bestie and I’ve convinced him to move in and he sleeps in my bed now and I love waking up beside him… he’s a real gentleman.”
“That’s good, he’s never been able to take the scenic route in life… I know you’re only here cause he trusts you and if he trusts you that means you know everything and if you know ever—“
“Yeah,” she cuts her off, “I know about all of it and everyone who’s hurt him and how he’s hurt himself but what’s more important is that it doesn’t phase me, he’s just a person trying to deal with the life he’s been given, we all are.”
Penelope wraps her up in a gentle hug, “he’s always needed someone like you.”
It makes her heartbreak just a tiny bit thinking about how as long he didn’t have anyone. Sure, he was surrounded by his friends at work and loved enough that they all brought him back home but he was never cared for the way she would have done it. There’s a weird maternal instinct that comes over her with Spencer and she knows exactly why, all she knows is she wants to love him and care for him for the rest of his life.
If she lives to be 100, she hopes he lives to be 116, because there isn’t a day she wants to spend on this earth where Spencer Reid isn’t alive and beside her.
She’s not going to cry in Penelope’s arms after just meeting her so she pulls back with a smile, “but what kind of juicy details are we talking? Cause I can’t embarrass him too bad…”
Penelope’s laugh is evil as she rubs her hands together, “a little birdie whose name rhymes with shmerek said he knows how to use that mouth for more than just talking…”
It makes her laugh almost a little too hard and she starts to feel her face heat up, she simply nods, “yeah, we haven’t gone all the way but from what’s happened so far, I can agree.”
Penelope turns in her rolling chair and laughs, “ugh that’s so great, I’m glad you’re having a good time— I mean I always thought Spencer would be good in bed after all the chats we’ve had about kinks and shit, he’s really educated, obviously, but I always knew that it would translate from paper to real-life very easily.”
“Oh totally,” she nods feverishly, “we talked about that before actually, virginity is simply a construct used to control women and make them feel pure or dirty, to feel like they can take something from a woman and yet virgins are so sexual and in tune with their needs and wants that they typically are good or at least know what to do from whatever porn they’ve consumed when it comes down to it. How the more in tune with someone's sexuality that they are the better they are in bed because they apply what they want to their partner and almost get off more on the fact someone is enjoying them than the fact they’re being pleasured.”
Penelope shakes her head with a loving smile, “you listen when he talks, you love every part of him and you’re beautiful… he really hit the jackpot.”
She brushes it off with a laugh, “I got pretty lucky with him too.”
Her phone rings before she can agree, answering with a cheerful tone, Spencer is on the other end, “do you have my beautiful girlfriend with you still?”
“Present,” she answers for herself, “are you still here, dad-Spence?”
She bites her lip and closes her eyes, fuck.
“Yeah, uh, I am, we think we got the actual building with the bomb, they’ve sent the team down there to clear it and check it out.”
“I’ll head back to the bullpen, then,” she stands and heads to the door, not wanting to face Penelope after almost calling him daddy right in front of her.
“Hey,” she calls to Y/N, “don’t be embarrassed. I get it, believe me, I’ve answered some calls in here with the dirtiest remarks to the completely wrong people. But, I’ll see you later?”
She smiles, “yeah, I’d love to see you again.”
In the bullpen, Spencer’s by his desk all alone. His teams cleared out and now it was just the office staff wandering around. She wraps her arms around his waist and rests her head on his back, “ready to go home?”
“Uh, not yet…” he turns to look at her, “I don’t want to bring you back to D.C unless the case is closed.” He looks nervous and she understands it perfectly.
“Okie Dokie, she smiles, leaning in for a hug to get close to his ear, “can we fuck in a storage closet to pass the time?”
He laughs but he takes her hand and he pretends to take her on a tour, he leads her down the hall and towards the filing room where he knows no one will be. “No one has really used this room in ages, since we went digital, and Penelope had all this stuff put online anyway.”
“So you can bend me over that table and rail me next time we come back?”
“Or?” She hears his playful tone and smirks to herself, letting him manhandle her hands behind her back as he bends her over a table, “I could fuck these big beautiful thighs of yours?”
“So only you can get off? Please,” She scoffs at him, wanting to piss him off to see where it gets her, wiggling her ass back against him as she does so.
He unbuttons her pants and drags them down her legs to leave her in just her thong, taking a handful of her ass and squeezing before laying a hard slap against her, she gasps at the feeling but also at the fact it was so loud.
“They’re going to hear you?!” She whispers with a disappointed tone.
“Isn’t that what you said you wanted? You wanted everyone to know only daddy can take care of you?” He uses her own words against her and she whines. “That’s what I thought.”
“No, but seriously,” she turns her head to look at him, “check my pocket.”
He does exactly that, finding one of her little bullet vibes in the front pocket of her jeans, “you planned this?”
“I knew we’d be having some kind of sex somewhere in this building,” she smirks. “Also my safe word is red but keep going.”
“Alrighty, then,” she can hear the smirk on his face as he thinks it over.
He takes his handcuffs out of his back pocket and cuffs her, “you know, it’s public indecency looking like this in here, technically it’s a federal offence and it’s my duty as a federal officer to make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
She swallows sharply, pushing back against his groin and gasping when her bare asscheek meets the cold metal of his gun in his holster. Sometimes she forgot he was a real FBI agent, sometimes it didn’t feel real to her because he was just her nerdy boyfriend and he never had any of his "cop props" with him… suddenly they weren’t just accessories to her anymore, he was actually a cop who just bent her over a table and cuffed her and now he’s going to fuck her "big beautiful thighs" as he called them.
“What’s the sentence, agent?” She plays along because damn he’s hot like this.
He presses his chest to her back as he leans in close to her ear, “It’s doctor, and you know that.”
He turns on the vibrator and rests it inside her underwear, right against her clit at the lowest setting, her thighs twitch at the feeling and all she wishes is that she had something to hold on to.
She whines again when she hears his belt buckle dangle and his zipper open, he grips his cock at the base and drags the head between her cheeks before slipping between her things with a sigh, “and it’s taking my time, you’re just going to have to, rather impatiently, deal with it.”
“Yes, doctor,” she closes her eyes and waits for the feeling of his cock between her legs but he doesn’t push in.
He places his feet on either side of hers so that she can't open her legs any further and finally, finally breaches her thighs. He groans at the drag of his cock against her skin as the vibrations from her panties continue to make her legs quake. She lets out a shaky breath and reaches for his shirt as he presses against her once more. Grabbing his tie instead, she pulls on it and he gasps for air.
“Sorry,” she mumbles with a smirk, not sorry at all for slightly choking him as she continues to hold his tie.
He swats her hands away from his tie and grips the cuffs to separate her hands, pushing them further up her back until it’s almost uncomfortable. The most uncomfortable thing about this was the fact he wasn’t inside of her, she felt so empty as she clenched around nothing. The stimulation on her clit was nice, the feeling of him taking her from behind is ungodly and yet he’s not in her. It’s the worst punishment in the whole world.
It was nowhere near enough to get her off and he knew that she wanted so much more that she wasn’t going to get, whining as he kept his thrusts at the same slow pace. It was agonizing, she squeezed her legs together more to tease him but he ended up liking it. There was nothing she could do for more, she was just going to have to let him take her, and that thought was what brought her closer.
“Please?” She begged, sounding just as desperate as she thought she would and not giving a single fuck.
“Please what?” He snaps his hips against her just a bit harder with each thrust.
She gasps again before biting her lip to hold back a moan, “finish in my mouth?” She begs once more, “please?”
He pulls off of her and yanks her off the table, turning her around, she drops to her knees without being told and opens her mouth immediately. He grips her by her hair and guides her towards his cock, slipping it past her lips and right down her throat.
He groans at the feeling, she closes her eyes for a moment to enjoy the feeling of his heavy cock in her mouth. Taking him more forcefully than ever before, he’s too caught up in the moment to realize he might be a little too rough but she also doesn’t mind. Breathing through her nose to stay calm she takes him as far as she can, pressing her nose to his pubes he can feel how hot her breath is as she struggles to breathe.
“Such a good girl,” he pulls her off so she can breathe for a moment, “you want my cum so bad don’t you?”
“Yes please, daddy,” she replies with a rasp in her voice that makes it obvious where he’s been.
She takes him in her mouth once more, sucking earnestly to get him closer and closer to the edge. He’s whining, pulling her hair and doing everything in his power not to thrust against her face, even though she’s okay with it.
She knows when he’s close because his cock always twitches in the same spot, it’s a tell-tale sign that he’s going to cum in a second. She applies more suction, running her tongue along the underside before taking him all the way once more just in time for him to cum right down her throat with each swallow.
He’s not quiet, anyone walking past the door will hear him panting and gasping, muttering good girl under his breath, he’s more fucked out by this blow job than she’s ever made him before. She can’t help but smirk as he pulls away and leaves her there on her knees, covered in spit and drool and unable to wipe her own mouth due to the fact she’s still fucking handcuffed.
She rests against his shoe, pressing the vibrator against her clit a little more, she twitches at how good it feels but it’s still not enough to get her off, and a part of her doesn’t want to.
He pulls her up to her feet and sits her down on the table he was just pretending to fuck her against. He attempts to spread her legs and get between them but she stops him, “leave the vibe where it is and let’s just go home?”
“You want to walk out of this building with a vibrator in your panties, and say goodbye to my co-workers and friends knowing you could cum anytime?”
She smirks, “yes, but I won't cum cause this pathetic toy isn’t as good at you.”
He clicks the button to turn it up a speed and she gasps, pushing against the feeling and moaning into it, “I’d like to see you try that.”
He takes her on the rest of the “tour” with that vibrator in her panties, she’s getting more and more flustered the more they look around. Eventually, he shows her the library, getting her alone in the back corner where he can talk to her without the risk of people knowing what’s going on.
“I can’t,” she whines as he presses her against the shelves, “please?”
“Please what?”
“Turn it off, daddy, I can’t take it anymore,” she grips his suit jacket tightly as she looks up at him with the eyes he can’t say no to.
“Mmm,” he hums, reaching into her pants to free her from the stimulation, she relaxes finally. “What do you think you deserve now?”
“Don’t wanna cum till we’re at home,” she whispers, “but you’ll have to make it quick because we have a flight to catch at 8.”
“Fuck,” he whispers like he forgot. “I hope we can get back into the apartment in time.”
“Why?”
“The bomb was in the basement of the building beside yours,” he admits and the whole facade fades, “that’s why I’m not taking you home yet.”
“That’s why you wanted to fuck me,” she whispers with a giggle. “You could have at least told me this was a ‘you almost died’ rush for you.”
“I didn’t want to say it like that,” he admits and a depression washes through his blood, he feels the low settle as he drops, “I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay,” she takes his face in her hands and makes him look her in the eyes, “I love you, I’m glad we’re both safe. Everything in there is replaceable, you and me aren’t. This is a really good thing, Spencer.”
He nods, doing what she’s told him so many times she wants him to do, telling her his thoughts so that he’s no longer haunted alone, “when I told my friend Derek about you, he said dating a younger woman means I’ll never have to worry about you dying of old age before me. That’s one of his fears being the same age as Savannah, but I’ve lost so many people I never even thought about getting old with you I’ve just wanted to keep this version of you safe and with me forever.”
“Penelope said she always wished you’d find someone like me, and my only thought was If I live to be 100, I hope you live to be 116 because there isn’t a day I want to spend on this earth where Spencer Reid isn’t alive and beside me,” he whispers with a smile, “but now I’m thinking if you live to be 100, I don’t want to go past 84.”
“You can’t say that,” he whispers, tears bubbling in his eyes, “what if I die tomorrow? I need to know you’re going to be fine and not end your wonderful existence because I’m not here anymore. You’re too wonderful to put all your worth on me.”
She doesn’t want to cry, she already looks like she’s been fucked and now she’s a mess, she pulls him into a kiss so he’ll stop talking and they can just be together, it was hard enough for her thinking he was going to die eventually, let alone him hypothesizing dying tomorrow.
She rests her forehead against his, “we always do this.”
“What?”
“It’s like orgasms open the emotions or something,” she snuffles which turns into a laugh, “do you think our kids are going to find it weird that you’re so much older than me?”
Everything takes him for a loop, “uh,” he struggles to find the words, pulling back and looking at her as her face drops, “I um—
“You don’t want kids anymore?” She looks genuinely saddened and he doesn’t know how to answer.
“I do,” he nods, “just—“
“Not with me?” She puts the words in his mouth.
“With you, just not yet,” he holds her by the shoulders, “I need more time with you before we have a kid, I need to love life and be in a good place and somewhere where I can focus all my attention on them, and I can’t yet.”
“I want a baby by 30,” she whispers before pressing her lips together awkwardly, “46 isn’t too old to be a dad, I’ve seen men become fathers at 80.”
He laughs as the anxiety leaves him, “a little California surfer baby wouldn’t be too bad.”
“Well, we fuck like rabbits, we might get there sooner than you planned,” she nudges him, “you’re a wonderful boyfriend, and if you don’t mind, I’d like for you to stay my boyfriend for a little longer? I’m not ready to be a wife or a mom and change my name when I just got it put on a published book.”
“I’ll change mine to yours,” he replies like it's nothing, “or keep yours and we’ll hyphenate the kid's names.”
“It’s plural now?” She teases him once more.
“Whatever you want, I’ll give it to you,” he assures her, “forever.”
“You’d pluck a star from the sky for me wouldn’t you, Doctor Y/L/N?”
He laughs at how it sounds but he kinda likes it. Her word choice is even funnier to him, however, because he’s actually gone out of his way to pluck a star for her. She has no idea, but her last present is a big one.
She struggled to get her own name on a book for so long, now there’s a star named after her, in the sky for everyone to see for the rest of time.
