I hate Jancy and now the Chrissy and Jason ship (idk their ship name, maybe its Jissy) because the fans always prioritize the boys' feelings over the girls'. At least with Stancy and Eddissy, the shippers value the boy and girl equally.

Oh goodness I didn't even realise people were shipping Chrissy and Jason that's...wow. I completely agree. Recently I've started noticing a pattern with all the ships I find unhealthy-the male character is really the one benefiting from the relationship. Fans of these relationships generally don't care if the situation is crappy for the female, they're more concerned with the feelings of their male fav and will often twist the way they view and talk about the female character until she fits into that relationship. Of course not every single fan may be doing this, but it seems to be a large group. And when you consider who the female characters are in these ships at their core, you realise that these ships suck for that character and don't make sense for them, so even if people think they're not only focusing on the feelings of the guy in the relationship, they kind of are by neglecting who these female characters really are.

And it's interesting how the majority of fans of healthier ships discuss the way both characters benefit in the relationship and care about the feelings of both characters. Very interesting.

I don't have time to elaborate on this one, but a while back I was arguing with a friend who insisted that D*rklina was basically r*ylo, and I was telling her that, if anything, D*rklina is basically th*schei (if you give it a few centuries).

(this friend has watched neither doctor who nor shadow and bone, btw. She just knows I hate r*ylo and was teasing me for shipping sth she considered r*ylo-like)

But now! I've seen fulloflit video in defense of d*rklina and you guys. Not only it has confirmed to me that they are extremely th*schei-like, they're also very jon*lias-like. Which might make them feel even more toxic, but it's really not it. I'm losing my mind but I literally have no time to elaborate on this one

is it just me or do zutaras that also are into dramione/reylo/etc. have some… bad takes on zutara

honestly i kinda like dramione and i don't really mind reylo, though i've had issues with both of their fandoms before and particular justifications of both ships. ultimately, i believe that there's a difference between enjoying fiction on tumblr and twitter and ao3 and wanting source material with a much bigger audience that could be really young kids to reflect that. and that's why they're not comparable to zutara, because while i could understand the dubious implications of dramione/reylo/darklina being canon, k@taang was much more insidious and zutara is a healthy relationship. doesn't make it inherently better as a ship in fandom, but it is, if that makes sense

i get this type of ask so much lmao. look, just because i'm a blog who criticises the books/show openly doesn't mean you need my permission to do something. you can enjoy whatever you want!!! if the tag is bothering you so much (although last time i went in there it was just full of darkling stans ajdjsjf) then just. don't go in it. you don't always need to be involved in fandom to enjoy a piece of media - it's honestly better not to get involved most of the time.

as long as you're aware of the problems and call them out you're fine. and if those things seriously upset you for whatever reason, just don't get involved in the fandom. watch it for yourself, and if you really want content then just find it on blogs/accounts who you know won't make you feel bad. you're never going to be able to please everyone, so just do what makes you happy.

I've never seen anyone use Luda to hate on Alina lol sounds like whoever said that pulled that out of their ass. It's always D*rklinas shitting on Luda and using her to prop up Alina. Because I guess they're insecure that Aleksander dared to love someone before his super perfect soulmate ultimate equal showed up 🙄AND they're pissed that those of us who don't like Alina prefer to ship Aleks with someone who actually, canonically loved him and shared his goals and helped the Grisha.

I have read literally every single fic in the Aleksander/Luda tag and I know they are fucking lying Imao. Especially because they fucking plague our tag with darkl/ina. Oh, no, poor Alina was hated in an imaginary fic? Maybe take our your fics from our tags where you clearly use Luda to prop the sack of flour.

(1) to all the people worrying that netflix might want to make d*rklina canon - i've been following production and i really think it's not that likely! the author said numerous times that it's not a romantic ship and that she stands by mal and alina. mal gets extra screentime this season (he's missing for the most part of the first book and apparently we'll see what he's been up to in the show), so it's a good sign. and casting an older d*rkling might be to show how wrong and predatory

(2) the relationship is. maybe i'm too optimistic, but i don't think they're going to push for d*rklina in the show. however! what is worrying is the fact that ben b*rnes is a vocal supporter of d*rlina, which yikes? (the rest of the cast is not from what i've seen on social media) and you just know that r*ylos and people alike are going to use that to their advantage and hop all over the ship. so it still sucks, but i don't think netflix is going to to us dirty and cave like sw did.

☕️ Zutara (i haven't watched avatar yet and i've seen posts saying it's really really toxic and others saying that they're soulmates, and dealing with d*rklinas and anti-d*rklinas that say the same thing in this fandom i have a really bad view on the ship at the moment even though idk what it's even about)

idk about "toxic"... they're not abusers or manipulators to each other, or to anyone at all for that matter, i wouldn't use the word "toxic" to describe their relationship. i personally never liked them in a romantic light bc i've always been kataang from the very start. and bc i personally don't think zuko and katara are right for each other. i won't spoil anything for you, but it has to do with how differently zuko and aang handle their trauma and emotions, and how i see aang's morals as being much more compatible and healthy for katara who's also dealing with her own trauma

i have, however, seen some people say that zutara can be considered a bad ship due to zuko technically being a colonizer and katara being an indigenous woman. it's obviously not my place to determine whether this is true or false, or a valid or invalid reason to ship it, it's just to give you some more perspective on the pairing itself
